Bigger than Brexit: This is a win for workers and the middle class.
It’s a major loss for the old media and political correctness. Corruption finally gets pegged back.
Trump beat both political parties, almost every government organisation, Wall Street, and media outlets. — Jo
UPDATE: Listening to the ABC, commentators are talking about the fear of a Trump victory. But the only people who ought to be afraid are the corrupt, the freeloaders and the illegal immigrants. People phoning in were talking about the grassroots movement of those who are fed up with the establishment. The ABC academic, given the last word, replied that this wasn’t a real grassroots movement –“that narrative is false” — because “political parties have been trying to seed doubts about institutions for years”. Sure thing. Which political party supported Trump?
The Trump victory is a win for democracy. This is as grassroots as it gets. Without the internet and a passionate crowd of people on the street how could Trump have defeated the non-stop demonization from the media?

6.30pm AEST NY Times Headline: Trump is on the verge of a stunning upset
On twitter congratulations are flowing in: Fox News :.@SpeakerRyan calls to congratulate Trump. Marine Le Pen from France, also.
Hillary is not conceding, but she is starting to get flack for not doing so.
Michael Smith News @mpsmithnews
Podesta just spoke to Hillary Campaign “Victory” Party – “Hillary will be back, let’s get these votes counted and bring this home!”

3pm AEST: Things are shifting fast. In the last hour it appears the markets and now news commentators are suddenly realizing a Trump presidency is likely. NY Times commentators are starting to discuss how the modeling by the Clinton team must have been “way off” and there seem to be signs of the “hidden vote” that Trumps team were mocked for discussing.
New York Times, live result forecast: Trump win: 88% 94%, Clinton win: 12% 6%
NYTimes predicts Trump likely to take the Presidency AND the Senate and House
Note that the Florida margin is only +1% to Trump. Things could still change. (UPDATE: But 98% of the vote is counted. )
The Wall Street Journal reports that stock markets are falling and currencies shifting as a Trump win becomes more likely. With about a quarter of the US GDP tied up in the government, many businesses are aligned with government agencies, grants, and policies. Trump represents a threat to that gravy train.
SportsBet Australia: Trump 1.02, Clinton 10.
____________________________
Watching the markets (2pm):
New York Times, live result forecast: Trump win: 68% 78% , Clinton win: 32% 22%
Note they still report Clinton to win the popular vote by 2% or so.
Live betting odds 1.40pm AEDT. Clinton 2.8, Trump 1.4.
______________________________
Watching the markets (1.30pm):
RealClear Politics has Trump at 49% (148) : Clinton 47% (109)
Things have changed in the last 30 minutes. This is only a small ($16) sharp upward move in the spot gold price. But combined with live betting odds which now have Trump and Hillary level, it suggests players are suddenly treating a Trump win as a serious possibility as the Florida numbers come in.
Live betting odds 1.40pm AEDT. Clinton 1.77, Trump 1.97.
(At 1pm AEDT they were Clinton 1.3, Trump 3.3)

Whatever happens today half of America is going to sucker-punched
Thank the media. Because it won’t report the gratuitous details about why the chant is “Lock her up” many people are oblivious to the depth of the allegations about corruption. Because the media will report gratuitous details of something said years ago in a private conversation, half the country has taken a crass remark as if it were national policy.
By Bill Scher— Democratic Hillary Clinton supporters, while congenitally skittish, are incredulous that an immigrant-bashing, misogynistic blowhard could even make this presidential race competitive, and are taking to the bank the poll lead Clinton has held essentially all year.
Republican Donald Trump’s superfans, while convinced everything is rigged, found new optimism in the wake of the FBI’s review of Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s emails found on Anthony Weiner’s computer and the subsequent smattering of tighter polls. (Comey popped the balloon on the GOP’s hopes of finding a smoking gun Sunday when he told lawmakers in a letter that, based on the new review, “we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton.” But Trump voters may still conclude that Americans are more primed than ever to imprison Clinton instead of elect her.) The Trump campaign had been feeding the optimism by stumping in blue states like Michigan and Minnesota where the GOP nominee has never held a lead. They believe America is on the verge of a “Brexit” moment, in which a silent nationalist majority outperforms the polls and humiliates the Establishment.
The two groups live in different worlds — if not geographically then online. But by Wednesday morning, someone’s worldview will be shattered beyond recognition.
On Vote Rigging:
Surely one of the the saddest things in this election is that vote rigging has become such an issue. How fundamental is a vote count to any democracy? It’s a measure of the degradation of what was once a high trust system. US voters can not be confident anymore that the votes are honest.
I’m grateful that here in Australia, at least, the paper system means we can have a recount, with observers. The US system doesn’t give that certainty.
Vote rigging does occur, it’s been documented. We don’t know how much and whether it can change the result. The only thing we know for sure is that the Democrats don’t want to do anything to make it harder for non-citizens to vote and people to cheat.
Kim Beasley said the white majority have come out to vote and should carry the day for Trump.

Wrong comment. !
It is nothing about white majority.
It is about a PEOPLE MAJORITY !!
552
Maybe, but the anchors are talking about a ‘racial divide’.
All those poor white people who don’t normally vote, got off their backsides because Donald told them its the only way to turn the world upside down.
122
“but the anchors”
of course they are STILL playing the racial divide ticket..
Its all they have.
342
Just for fun the other day, I was tallying up the nationalities of people I get along with really well.
Got to about 30 different nationalities and gave up counting.
This racial divide crap has GOT TO STOP !!!
372
Yeah but the US historical background is different to Australia, we embrace multiculturalism.
In the US minorities have seized upon the opportunities of a fully functional democratic system, ethnic voting blocks, but this time around a charismatic individual has gained power without their vote.
63
This sort of thinking is what got Obama elected, twice (i.e., even after his first term should have shown everyone his promises were worse than empty, but invariably malignant). It was, and is, all lies. Your use of the phrase “fully functional democratic system”, under Obama, shows that very well.
150
We did not embrace multi culturalism. It was imposed.

El,
I think the comment might be that we embrace people who work hard.
For political reasons, vote buying, some recent entrants have not been screened regarding work ethic and consequently have lived on social security.
Families which have given and given and given over generations see this and understandably become resentful of the largesse being spread about by politicians on their behalf.
They are going to be hit for more tax to foot the bill for new arrival families which in some cases, for cultural reasons, include two wives.
KK
110
Keith we embrace people who speak the English language and play our sports, cultural assimilation takes time.
Len is correct, multiculturalism was imposed but its not so bad.
23
…. The thing is el gordo…. We and Western Civilization, isn’t Multi Cultural, it is Multi racial with classical liberalism and Christianity within its core traditions….. Australia has many races, but we should only have one “Culture” and that is Australian culture with its Western-ism implicit. The culture that attracted those immigrants to Australia in the first place.
This is why I don’t go for Open Borders. Open borders bring economic refugees and Political activists who have no interest in becoming “Australian” and who only wish to subvert Australian culture with their own, while taking instead of participating.
I repeat. Australia isn’t Multi Cultural, it is Multi Racial.
90
Except that nationality has nothing to do with race. You are however right, this racial divide crap has got to STOP!

Trump’s support is broad-spectrum. Because Trump didn’t seek to divide America by gender, race, religion or political affiliation.

Pretty much what I was saying.. Thanks for the back-up Bernd. ! 🙂

Beasley was US ambassador for a good spell and has some authority on the subject, as does Bob Carr who is a big US history buff. He hinted that we might be better off leaving the US alliance because foreign affairs might get dangerously out of hand under Trump.
Reading between the lines Trump wants us to step up to the plate, put on a sheriff’s badge and patrol the western Pacific. The new president is an isolationist, which is perfect timing for Beijing.

This morning was interesting – my ( quite bright ) 11 yo was bemoaning Trumps victory “it’s the end of the world”…..*moment of disbelief*…..
What the? Lift up jaw back into place….
I said to her – why are you upset? Who has been putting this nonsense in your head?
Of course it comes from ( her private ) school, but mostly the media is dishing it out and kids are impressionable of course…..
I got cranky…..mainly because the last thing I want is my child being influenced by the Left via its cosy/incestuous relationship with the media.
Where I work there is a heavy Left slant to everything, so I’m careful about what I say. However in my own home I can and do speak my mind.
I said to her – Trump isn’t who I’d vote for, its just in this case that he was the person who actually offered hope and want to build the country things up to help people,
whereas the media like tearing things down and making people sad.
I also said the media *also* hates the Australian Prime Minister as well – because he also wants to build the country up and help it do well.
I said the media hate people who want to do well, and love talking about bad things ( its hard to put Left wing politics into kid friendly stuff …)
I also said we need to give someone a go…..he might be a good American President.
So I guess it would be worth chatting to your kids to see if the Left has infected them as well…..I think I’ve administered out the even handed “antibiotics” in time, but it shows how bad it could get….
Many Leftists heads would be exploding this morning……

Steve
You know how the grass grows over the top of the Australian Parliament Building?
It is reminiscent of the authoress “Irma Brombeck” and her 1950’s book about the suburbs “The Grass is Always Greener over the Septic Tank”.
Time to drain the Washington swamp, and suck out the Canberra septic tank.
100
A very apt metaphor there Rod.
It reminds us of the American precedent plus has it’s own local flavour.
Suck out the Septic Tank
or maybe
Pump out the tank or Pump the Tank.

Remember the leftist 10-10 film with children’s heads exploding? That revealed the Warmists’ fondest wish.

“foreign affairs might get dangerously out of hand under Trump”
He should take a look at the ME basket case Clinton-Obama have left (which is what caused the European refugee crisis).
Not to mention Clinton;s stated policy of wanting to shoot down Russian planes in Syria (no fly zone).
150
Agreed Lord Jim,
I suspect that the people of Libya, Syria and the Ukraine might have a different perspective on “foreign affairs might get dangerously out of hand under Trump”
As opposed to the status quo.

Ron, Short and Sweet. To the Point
Thanks Ron.
How do you perceive the Media response over the next few years. Same Old Same Old Put Downs and Sledging or will they actually realise that insult and slur is not valid journalistic option over genuine examination of The issues?
When Conservative Mr Abbott won our 2013 election The MSM, which disliked or even hated him, ramped it up to feral and then beyond and turned criticism into a mouth foaming rabid frenzy.
The response to The Donald and The Republicans of our ABC Government Media, Luvvy Left media and The internet Blog sites has been of this delusional and rabid variety.
It has been a joy to watch this demographic have full blown Temper Tantrums and Spit The Dummy record breaking distances.
They do not seem to learn that their behaviour is part of what now appears to a be a Western Wide rejection of their Shout Down, Insult and Silence approach to public discussion of the issues.

Unfortunately, the President’s constitutional right to issue pardons can apply without any charges being laid.

Yep.
As was his father, who was an Australian Communist Party (CPA) supporter; and probably a member.
10
Was his Moral Re-armament merely a pose ?
10
When did he join Moral Re-armament?
The sequence is telling.
I suggest you read Red Professor: The Cold War Life of Fred Rose by Peter Monteath and Valerie Munt.
“When Rose had joined the Communist Party of Australia,” the authors write, “Beazley had been a member of the same suburban branch in Perth as Rose. It did not sit easily with Beazley’s post-war drift to the right-wing of Labor politics.”
The book also suggests Beazley may have sought to undermine Labor from within.
“When Rose noted to fellow members that Beazley had stopped attending (meetings), he was told in hushed tones ‘the party wanted him to join the Labor Party, presumably to red-ant it’,” the authors write.

Sam. As was his father, who was an Australian Communist Party (CPA) supporter; and probably a member.( Reference to Kim Beasley and his Dad . Also Kim.
Do your homework not your bias or conspiracy delusions.
Kim Beasley Snr was a committed Christian and associated his whole political life with The Right of The ALP Movement 1945 to 1977.
…Beazley was prominent on the right-wing of the Labor Party during the ideological battles of the 1950s and 1960s…
… he was considered a possible future leader of the party, but his right-wing views, particularly his support for the U.S. Alliance, cost him support, and
Gough Whitlam took over…
Moral Rearmament(MRA) was an international moral and spiritual movement that, in 1938, developed from the American minister Frank Buchman’s Oxford Group…

Respect that you will be happy with this dd. From my perspective (and tying this in with stuff happening elsewhere in the world) it all has a very 1930’s feel about it which i find a worry.
One issue that will be “interesting” to follow from a purely political science perspective is who now controls the agenda?
Trump, who a lot of the Repugs hate?
Cabal of “establishment” Repugs in the Senate, a lot of who hate Trump?
Repug Teabaggers….who thought they would get THEIR candidate in the big chair until DLDonald comprehensively rough end of the pineapple did twist in them?

I wonder if the result will be similar to Reagan’s election, where all the “polls” had him dead in the water where instead he blitzed ’em outright.
Maybe the rigged polls allow things to appear tight so as to camouflage Dummocrat vote rigging? Do they still use pencils for “voting” in the US?
Whether she wins or not, I hope Hitery will be held to account for her misappropriations.. (if any /sarc)

Pens, at least in my booth. I like to go in and vote on the day, color in the little oval, walk the paper over to the machine and feed it in. I don’t have to worry about postal carriers having a breakdown and stashing the bag of mail, and with my state’s methods, no dangling bit of un-punched paper to clog up the works. No computer hacking, no erasing, etc.

Then there’s Hillary and the WW3 factor. Yeah, that little thing. Amazing how nervous people get over global and nuclear war. Makes ’em forget about straight blokes touching girls and all that really big stuff.

Odd isn’t it.
The leftists point out the dangers with nuclear power but are seemingly happy to use the same energy source against another country.

Leftists? Clinton is a neo- conservative. There are no leftists in a
American politics.
48
Wow, you’re so far left you see Clinton as right? That takes a lot of doing.
Haven’t you listened to anything she’s said?
90
Her foreign policy is definitely at one with the neo-cons.
30
The left/right metaphor does not describe a straight line. It is a distinction between the direction taken to get to totalitarian government. Go one way, and you get to that point via progressiveness, socialism, and communism. Go the other way and you get to the same point via tradition, conservatism, and fascism.
The progressive media were right behind Clinton, and marching with her step by step. There was no need, therefore for the press to promote her case, because everybody agreed that it is the most rational course.
They totally missed getting their message in front of the more traditional working person, who just wants to do their job well, and get a fair wage in return, so they can look after their family, in much the same way they were raised.
The progressive media totally ignored the conservative demographic, and as a result, have done tremendous harm to the relevance of the wider media in that audience.
Conservatives are reaching consensus through blogs (such as this one); Twitter; and other social apps that the progressives cannot control.
40
RoHa
Just an FYI.
Politics in the US is divided into those for small govt.= Right
and those for large centralized all powerful govt.=Left
Nothing to do with left/right as other parts of the world see it.
Most of the current pols agree with a large central govt and are part of a Uniparty.
40
The vaunted unspecified ‘change’ Obama promised was nothing like the toxic reality. The people projected their interpretation of what he meant and it won him two terms. As the nightmare materialised with the infliction of an avalanche of regulation, the destruction of industry and jobs, the expansion of self-interest victim-centered groups, the diminishment of heartland America and their values, unrestrained immigration through soft borders, the unfettered expansion of US debt, loss of self-determination, the shattering lie of Obama-care, so the people gradually reawakened to discover themselves in a world of pain and seeming powerlessness. Their only and possibly last significant chance to push back, to reclaim a sense of destiny and nationhood lay in this election and they rightfully seized it.
In NZ the TVNZ screeching Lefties could only pontificate about the fact that America was simply unwilling to elect a woman. They merely showed that their hermetically sealed bubble of delusion was air tight. As someone else said, how can they report on the Movement that is Trump and not know a single Trump supporter? How can they ignore the absence of ‘donated’ largesse from interest groups? How do they ignore the exercise of democracy? I think the answers are obvious. So obviously do millions of others.
Our household predicted Trump would win when he was nominated, itself an extraordinary achievement for DJT. We also proudly predicted Brexit. Why? Because there is an essential ‘rightness’ in both these in more ways than one.
220
A brilliant comment Manfred.

And I think a lot of americans were also sick of being slapped stupid and being told it was good for them, so when they finally managed to get a hand free, they formed a well shaped fist, swung , and connected.
Well done USA.
70
I agree with KK and OS. That is a brilliant observation.
The New Zealand media exists, and relies, on projections of their own beliefs and opinions. I have yet to meet a journalist, under forty, who can ask searching questions, in order to get to the truth. The news you get, is the news that interests a thirty-something journalist.
Tracy Watkins, started her coverage of the election with. “It’s the result no-one saw coming. Yet, like Britain’s shock vote to leave the European Union, they probably should have.”
What an admission! Did they not consider Trump’s track record? Obviously not.
40
Certainly, but if you want to make an omelette, you’ve got to break some eggs.
It’s interesting to consider that Trump has self financed his campaign.
By contrast, Hillary has spent, what? . . ten times as much? . . . and it’s all other peoples money.
When/if the Donald drains the swamp, no one will be able to accuse him of being backed by big oil/coal or anything else.
Maybe this is the opportunity to ban political campaign donations altogether.
Campaign donations could be subject to a RICCO orientated oversight committee.
How could anyone complain?
And that’s probably a tasty omelette to start off with.
190
I hear that there is a “Charitable” Foundation going cheap, right now …

Trump is winning in Ohio now , its game over
100
I keep telling my Clinton spruiking mates that no matter how things turn out to stay classy. Still hoping Trump gets up but even if he doesn’t, the damage a Clinton Presidency might do will be limited by the Senate.
70
The senate had 8 years to get it right and did nothing to stop Obama and his executive power. When Trump drains the “Swamp”I hope he takes a look at the “RINO’s”
20
This could be a lesson to a completely clueless MSM and the political elites. Brexit and this US election highlight that most people are libertarian rather than liberal.
260
Hopefully this is a BIG lesson to the RINO packed Republican Party. GOP should now realize that they need to clear-up the party and do what the people require — strong clear leadership supported by the party membership, doing what is good for the nation, governing by the spirit and letter of the law and the constitution.
The Demoncrats will probably resign themselves to a full makeover giving the very real illusion of change without changing anything substantial.
151
Only lesson our Moral Superiors are going to take out of this is that the people cannot be trusted, they are all clearly too stupid to know what is good for them and Democracy gives the Wrong Result(tm).
Within 24 hours we are going to see serious discussion about having this result overturned by legal means as the result is clearly wrong and clearly not in the country’s/the world’s interest.
130
If there are serious accusations of irregularity FROM ANYONE the they should be properly tested in a court. The big thing about democracy is that the ONLY thin that makes it worthwhile is the integrity of the process and the preservation of that should be above partisanship. Now, which campaign was the one most willing to impugn the integrity of the democratic process in the US??
27
“Now, which campaign was the one most willing to impugn the integrity of the democratic process in the US??

You have NOTHING LEFT !!
151
Lol you are so reliable in a fast changing world. Pretty dim, but gloriously focused and predictable. 🙂
114
Nothing left, hey phlop.
So sad. !!
101
Hint:
Donald Trump will be President of the USA…
GET OVER IT.. before your tiny mind explodes. !
111
Funny how dim people can see and bold faced lie of CAGW, and the Left are happy to lie and lie and lie and lie…..in terms of morals, the Left is the equivelent of pack of hungry jackals fighting over a mouldy old carcass.
It is what it is….
QED
60
he is winning in MICHEGAN , I’m just enjoying watching CNN pundits squirming in their seats
170
Clinton is now leading the polls in key battleground states such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Yemen and Syria. 😉
(h/t to someone on Twitter who I now can’t find/credit.)
410
LOL.. ABC will like that, considering their current wailing and gnashing of teeth..
140
Found a two more classic Trump tweets for consideration . . . I had a little guffaw:

China has sent a letter of condolence, and Putin’s last remark is both unprintable and physically impossible.
80
Let me translate Putin:
Hillary, you’re FIRED!!
150
I actually think Putin and Trump will get on very well together.
Things will become smoother and safer world wide.
Both are tough, no-nonsense or BS, but know they can’t put anything over the other.
Putin would have played Clinton like a monkey, like he has with Obarmy.
322
Andy,
I must disagree. Putin has played Obama and Clinton like donkeys. As for what he has played Kerry for – well my last comment containing the phrase village….. got censored.
It is not for nothing that the Irish have Kerryman jokes.
Still Putin, and others, will be relieved that the incoming President isn’t prone to complete loss of control in a temper tantrum and hasn’t threatened war.
140
come one, Graeme… donkeys… monkeys (only one letter different)
treat it as a typo 🙂
And nobody needs to play Kerry for a village íժіοϯ…
…. he does that all by himself.
132
Wasn’t your donkeys name Oaty or something?
30
Otto.
Donkey Otto… after the famous Spanish conquistador.
82
The name is obviously too deep a pun for y’all to catch.
otherwise thee would be multiple green or red thumbs. 🙂
41
Hey I remembered and was close, just a bit too literal. 🙂
30
Late in the day. I thought the name was Otti.
30
“Hoaty” (or maybe “Hoatie”, or even “Hoatay”) Spell checker hates them all (no sense of yuma).
40
Why not Hoaty McHoatface?
10
AndyG55
I agree with “Putin would have played Clinton like a monkey, like he has with Obarmy.” which is why he probably preferred her to win. Trump is an unknown, and that will be his strength, at least initially.
51
There are surely benefits for both in US trade with Russia. Trump won’t miss that.
50
Trump is a big dealing real estate negotiator and dealer from the day one [ read his history ] so he has probably come to grips financially, verbally and metaphorically with some of the hardest and toughest wheeler dealers and negotiators on the planet where one slip up can cost someone a couple of hundred millions of dollars and / or the deal of a lifetime with a hundreds of millions and the possible survival of his business at stake and riding on the negotiations.
Putin is a creation and has been mentally shaped in his early career by the cold shadowy world of the KGB where shadows and little of substance are the predominant means of achieving power over persons and groups and entire nations.
Plus a constant flow of highly variable mix of truth and miss-information and straight out lies which are the principle means of persuading the opposition that all is not what it seems to be or what is, is not as it appears to be.
Not that different in fact to the first moves in a real estate deal involving a few hundred millions of dollars.
Trump with the experience he has in wheeling and dealing in a business where a slip-up can cost a few hundred million dollars or even one’s entire business, could potentially take Putin to the cleaners if he bypasses a lot of the political and moral posturing which he might, which passes for “international diplomacy” as it has been practiced over the last century of constant wars and strife.
70
Holding off cheering until its absolute and certain.
92
The BBC say its a done deal, and the stock markets in Asia also think so as they have all fallen.
50
“The BBC say its a done deal”
ummmm.. that DOES NOT inspire confidence !!!
102
They sure sound sorry about the outcome so far.
BBC is thickly spreading the scare — stock markets and dollar will be falling, and that there will little confidence in American commercial performance reviving, trade will be badly impacted etc.,etc — basically all the same left-wing memes they gave with BREXIT.
100
BBC got comment from (lefty) Simon Schama and he compared a Trump win to a take over of fascists in Europe!
50
I notice not a single concern that speculators are probably responsible for the share market blip.
They’ll more than likely increase their holdings by a good margin.
There’s also the possibility that those speculators are part & parcel of the globalists who have benifitted from the Obama favours showered on them!
50
Trump wins North Carolina , its over
90
I make it Trump 272, Clinton 266.
The North East and the far west are Democrat strongholds. The rest of the country is the bit they ignored.

Media all talk about the shock. If they did not see anything apart their behinds then perhaps this would not be as shocking.
Failure of the media once again tell me that my decision to not watch or listen to them has been the correct one since in 2009.
60
Dariusz. Fifteen years ago I made the decision to never watch the TV show Sixty Minutes. About ten years ago I decided to not watch any news on television. Two of the top ten decisions I have ever made.
40
I’d agree with that.
Most “news” is just propaganda.
10
Sufferers of proctocraniosis report diminished vision. It also appears to be incurable. Watch the US media, where “analysts” now double down on their disproven views.
20
Jo, I wonder if the “greatest moral challenge of our time” has just been trumped 🙂
310
Very good George!
50
Markets are definitely indicating a Trump win as they have dropped a huge amount but counting is still indicating it’s a close one. It will be interesting to see if the markets get it right and Trump does win. If Clinton wins then watch the markets explode to the upside.
31
If anyone is still holding rewnewable energy stocks in the USA it may be too late to sell.
I am looking forward to the closure of Ivanpah solar power plant. A huge win for birds.
130
I hope those holding renewable stocks lose big time. We’ve had enough of our money being used to support lies and corrupted policies.
90
The Musk rat must be worried. 🙂

All his subsidies will disappear…
…. and considering that’s basically his only income… 🙂
122
It was all imploding anyway. The Donald will just make the collapse quicker – Yellin raising interest rates now that she doesn’t have Hillary to defend will wipe Elron off the corporate map.
But I am certain he will remain in the automotive industry, fashioning rectangular identification plates while living in government provided accommodation.
100
Ahhh . . and remember the whole coal “stranded assets” campaign.
Personally, I’ll be investing in blankie and safe space real estate.
I’m going to make a killing.

Go ‘The Donald’!
So much for clowns like Sheridan and all the other so called experts getting their information
from the criminal Clinton News Network!
All the criminal Leftoids running for cover!
All the grins wiped off of the faces of the ABC wackers….I’m loving this!
250
Just to see ABC and all the Leftards crying on national TV would be reward enough. Hopefully this will be a gift that keeps on giving.
If Trump wins then the above screenshots should be placed in ABC’s photo album for eternity and for all to see.
140
I’ve been watching your Sky channel in recent weeks –they had Clinton inaugurated about 3 weeks ago.
It has been an absolute pleasure watching them squirm in their seats today. They might as well just have come out and said –“those dumb voters don’t know what they are doing ” because that is what they were really thinking.
100
Greg Sheridan in today’s “Australian” says a Hilary win is in the bank .Quote. I feel a sneer coming on.
140
Sorry, yesterday.Sheridan:You can take it to the bank:the American election is effectively over…..Sheridan spends too much time in these “think tanks” which repeatedly gets the weltpolitik wrong.Sophists for you.
80
“Hilary win is in the bank”
Oh .. did she bet against herself 😉
62
I spent half of yesterday, flicking around the “Free To Air”channels and they all started out gleefully reporting “The Hilderbeasts”progress, until it dawned on them all, that”She”was loosing.Almost as good as when Turdbull realized that the “People”didn’t like him as much as he thought.
40
Don’t you just love the smell of rebellion early in the morning.
While all attention has been focused on the nominal winners, Clinton or Trump
the real winners look like being the large mass of taxpaying public which has been unrepresented for the last four decades of western life.
They can see that with the right amount of agitation, their needs can be addressed or at least put on the table and I further suspect that The Donald if elected will be a little less aggressive and a bit more inclusive when in power.
Any politician who ignores this revolution in the future is in for a shock.
Revolting.
KK
280
Any politician who forgets they’re operating in a democracy is always in for a shock KK. 🙂
100
Not when so many voters are anesthetized by political do gooderism.
80
KK, do-gooderism, that’s got to be one word, eh?
30
I like your version.
20
Are the people who make the electoral projection maps for the Huffington Post the same mob who do the long-term weather maps for the BoM?
211
Yes.
00
Well, it’s about 8:22 Pacific time and it’s looking like Trump can actually pull it off. He’s way ahead of Clinton in the popular vote. But remember that it’s the Electoral College votes that count. And California has 54 of them that will certainly go to Clinton. So it ain’t over until its over.
But for the first time since Trump was nominated I’m optimistic about Hillary’s being trounced by the voters. And Fox just announced that Trump has carried Wisconsin, ending Hillary’s so-called blue wall that Trump couldn’t get over. Also now predicted that Trump will take Iowa before I can finish typing the prevous sentence.
Amazing !!!! 🙂
And the talking heads are dumbfounded by it.
160
And if this continues just a little more, he who has spent not a single second in government in his life, will have to govern. But one step at a time.
And Fox has just announced that Trump will take Georgia.
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
150
Georgia …. the whole day though
50
through … too excited
40
Roy
” he who has spent not a single second in government in his life ” –that is the best thing Trump has going for him. He will look at and approach issues differently. He has a good man , in Mike Pence, to help him with all the Government/political “nicieties”. He has some really experienced guys like Gingrich and Gulliani right next to him.
110
Trump is a solid businessman.
He knows he has weaknesses ….
… but he also knows how to find the right people to help overcome those weaknesses.
132
And he has been far down the tube financially and has had to claw his way back up again which he did.
So he knows the bottom of the barrel as well as the froth on the top.
80
Ross,
I don’t know. But look at it this way. If I had been an insurance broker for most of my life and then suddenly I was thrust into the world of computer software and given a complex specification to implement, how far out of my element would I be?
Trump is going to need our support generally and any direct help we can give him. But there’s one good thing that offsets any missteps he may make. Hillary will not be president.
60
Roy, you would remember the marvellous Al Capp and his wonderful depiction of political activities.
“What’s good for General Bullmoose is good for the USA!”
50
I remember Al Capp. But that was a long time ago. General Bullmoose is just a blank.
20
Knowing how you feel about Trump Roy, I don’t know whether to congratulate America or commiserate with you.
Whatever, I think this is a change towards more accountable government with taxpayers as ultimate winners and shifty politicians the losers.
Who wooda thought that in the space of one year the gravy trains of politicians in the EEU and USA would be upended?
🙂
KK
100
Hey KK, I wonder how Tony H and Tim B are taking this news.
82
KK,
For a country that just figured its way through the two worst candidates for president that I can possibly imagine, we’ve come out of the election looking so much better than we might have that I’m rejoicing about Trump’s election. Others may not be so happy but I’m still smiling and will keep smiling knowing we chose the far, far better candidate of the two.
But if I ever need a shoulder to cry on, I’ll look you up. How’s that? 😉
40
O.K. Roy, but I think you have used up the next twelve months supply of smilies in that post above.
🙂 KK

And poetry, such as it is, I also give to you free of charge in honor of the occasion.

Clinton 93% and Trump 4%.
And you wonder why ordinary Americans are disenchanted with the System.

“The Trougherati.”

Wow.. I mean.. WOW!
How that makes sense I have no idea.

Just figured out that chart Tony:
It’s a live poll in Hitlery’s living room, for those that are still backing her and therefore alive anyway.

YES! Thats what I noticed too. Absolutely.

Time to drain the swamp. And way past time to pump out the septic tanks in Canberra I might add.
60
A big lump of **** called Turnbull needs flushing first.
111
Not surprising. What Swamp Creatures want a dry Swamp. I almost feel sorry for them. Almost!
40
Tony those figures that have 93% for Grandma Frumpy.
Are you sure you did not collect The Canberra Press Gallery Voting figures by mistake?
I must admit to being sad about one aspect of this.
I was really keen to know, if Bill became First Fella, what Hillary would have called the first Girlfriend he brought home to meet the family.
First Mistress and would that be taken as the official nomenclature?

“Bill, why is she wearing a blue dress?”
Tony.

8 Nov: Daily Caller: EXCLUSIVE: It’s Full Bore Ahead for FBI’S Clinton Foundation Probe
FBI agents across the country are continuing to actively pursue a broad political corruption investigation of the Clinton Foundation, a probe that is consuming the resources in the FBI’s Little Rock, Ark., field office where every agent assigned to public corruption matters now is working on the case, The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group has learned.
“Everybody’s working the foundation in Little Rock,” a former senior FBI official told TheDCNF. There at least 10 agents involved, but it’s possible the Little Rock field office is “pulling bodies from other programs.”…
Little Rock is important to the investigation because the Clinton Foundation was founded there in 1997 in that state’s capital where Bill Clinton served multiple terms as governor. The controversial charity was originally registered there and was granted federal tax exemption solely for the purpose of building and operating Clinton’s presidential library…ETC

Looks like he’s 16 electoral votes away from a victory. It’s fun to watch the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC squirm, although it’s not over till the crook lady sings her concession …
61
Just caught Oak’s and Sefanovic on 9’s coverage, watching the absolute cluelessness of whats happened is glaring example of how and why the MSM and free to air TV is dying, the breathtaking bias is only exceeded by the vile vitriol vented towards anyone remotely conservative.
Apparently Oak’s has a low opinion of Pauline Hansen, who cares you puerile slob!, about 5 minutes of this reminds me of why I gave up watching and taking anything portrayed on the MSM seriously.
160
Will Trump be known as SPOTUS – the Surprise President etc.
90
Well put Yonnie, and my weekend Australian is now a thing of the past.
In the last few weeks what was previously a readable paper has become a rag for the lovies.
40
… 16 electoral votes away from a victory
Which State(s) might those come from ? It’s all very confused and I still have no confidence in the MSM reports – way too many hysterical “look-at-me” flapdoodles.
I suppose it may be true. But maybe not.
There was also a comment I read from a US citizen warning of the possibility of a Brexit-like reversal. Apparently, and I don’t know from a bar of strawberry soap here, the actual Electoral College voters (the people who actually vote in the various State EC councils) are NOT constitutionally required to vote the way the state’s general population did. I have no idea of the validity of that comment, but if it has any truth to it and such a betrayal was attempted anywhere … well, the Americans own an awful lot of firearms.
NOTE: I did not say that was an actual possibility. I really don’t know. I just hope nothing like that ever occurs, or can occur.
50
This shows what states are left to be decided.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/elections/2016/presidential-election-headquarters
41
It is true – depending. Wiki is the friend, here
“Summary
Even though the aggregate national popular vote is calculated by state officials, media organizations, and the Federal Election Commission, the people only indirectly elect the president, as the national popular vote is not the basis for electing the president or vice president. The President and Vice President of the United States are elected by the Electoral College, which consists of 538 presidential electors from the fifty states and Washington, D.C.. Presidential electors are selected on a state-by-state basis, as determined by the laws of each state. Since the election of 1824,[39] most states have appointed their electors on a winner-take-all basis, based on the statewide popular vote on Election Day. Maine and Nebraska are the only two current exceptions, as both states use the congressional district method. Although ballots list the names of the presidential and vice presidential candidates (who run on a ticket), voters actually choose electors when they vote for president and vice president. These presidential electors in turn cast electoral votes for those two offices. Electors usually pledge to vote for their party’s nominee, but some “faithless electors” have voted for other candidates.
A candidate must receive an absolute majority of electoral votes (currently 270) to win the presidency or the vice presidency. If no candidate receives a majority in the election for president or vice president, that election is determined via a contingency procedure established by the Twelfth Amendment. In such a situation, the House chooses one of the top three presidential electoral vote-winners as the president, while the Senate chooses one of the top two vice presidential electoral vote-winners as vice president.”
and
“Faithlessness
Main article: Faithless elector
A faithless elector is one who casts an electoral vote for someone other than the person pledged or does not vote for any person. Twenty-four states have laws to punish faithless electors. In 1952, the constitutionality of state pledge laws was brought before the Supreme Court in Ray v. Blair, 343 U.S. 214 (1952). The Court ruled in favor of state laws requiring electors to pledge to vote for the winning candidate, as well as removing electors who refuse to pledge. As stated in the ruling, electors are acting as a functionary of the state, not the federal government. Therefore, states have the right to govern electors. The constitutionality of state laws punishing electors for actually casting a faithless vote, rather than refusing to pledge, has never been decided by the Supreme Court. While many only punish a faithless elector after the fact, states like Michigan also specify that the faithless elector’s vote be voided.[54]
As electoral slates are typically chosen by the political party or the party’s presidential nominee, electors usually have high loyalty to the party and its candidate: a faithless elector runs a greater risk of party censure than criminal charges.
Faithless electors have not changed the outcome of any presidential election to date. For example, in 2000 elector Barbara Lett-Simmons of Washington, D.C. chose not to vote, rather than voting for Al Gore as she had pledged to do. This was done as an act of protest against Washington, D.C.’s lack of congressional voting representation.[55] That elector’s abstention did not change who won that year’s presidential election, as George W. Bush received a majority (271) of the electoral votes.”

To the corporate media, for your enlightenment…
Go down to Kiama and look long and hard at the Blowhole’s entrance cave when the winds are coming from the South East. Then check out all the limpets along the rocks.
That’s how much you suck.
No. You suck much worse than that.
Got it now, MSM?
200
Makes me wonder who they’ll sell their souls to next. I bet they never change their tune until they’re held to account for their malfeasance, misreporting and bias.
Hear that ABC? The chopping block beckons loudly.
110
Yes, but if indeed Trump has won, the MSM will not swerve from their malice.
The aim now will be to use any lies and persistent malicious propaganda possible to prevent a 2nd term.
70
“the MSM will not swerve from their malice”
As Tony Abbott knows full well !!
82
I don’t think Trump will want another term, he will be 74. Far better to retire and leave it to Pence (his VP).
61
So long as he still has his hair… he will be there for a second term 😉
92
Oh come on guys, that was funny !!!
52
The hair to Hillary’s throne you mean. 😉
60
You’re right. Trump needs to recognise them as mortal enemies, attack or starve them, do everything Abbott failed to do. The media are entitled to their freedom of speech, freedom to trade and nothing else.
Hit fair, but hit hard. If Soros can be shown to have committed grave currency crimes, he should be handed over to the Russians…unless he can find a newly evacuated room in London’s Ecuadorian embassy.
80
Here, the network news is showing long segments of high school students protesting the election of Trump. They’re going all out to make trouble. This will end badly.
00
Hi Folks, I’m still around!
Just been through fairly bad period health wise over the last month with a severe bacterial lung infection that inflicts non stop coughing onto its unfortunate victims.
For over ten days straight in my case with an hours sleep each night from pure exhaustion despite the medical profession not doing anything much to help me until my own Doc turned up again and got some antibiotics into me.
One local reputedly broke a rib from his coughing with this nasty lung infection.
———————————————-
Just catching up with the American presidential election which I see that Jo is already well ahead of the local media pack with her information.
The local political, bureacratic, media, green inner city watermelon and union elites here in Australia had better not pat themselves on the back as being safe from the American elector’s “stupidity” as similar attitudes towards the arrogant, utterly self centred, academic virtue signaling and self congratulatory elites are well and truly developing deep down under the apparently benign political and social surface of our Australian society.
We / They only have ask why new political parties are forming such as Pauline Hanson’s One Nation, Derryn Hinch, Xenophon and etc.
I simply can’t see the archtypal, former high status banking elitist Turnbull ever getting his elitist dominated mind around the fact that the great bulk of the Australian public exist at a much lower level of living standards, hopes and expectations and a desire for a better life with societal stability so as to enjoy what they have for the future than does the highly paid and utterly self centred elites in Turnbull’s circle.
As for Shorten, he is the archtypal, high status union thug par excellence that has no real interest in anything other than Shorten and how he might advance the interests of a small coterie of extremely corrupt both morally and ethically, union based power brokers [ read high status “union thugs’ there ] to ensure that he gains and keeps for as long as possible, over-whelming political and union based power over all of Australian’s residents.
eg; Our tinpot despot and ding-a-linging Daniel Andrews , Victorian Premier is the classic union thug example of where Shorten hopes to be after the next election.
–
As for the Greens, they have about 15% of the vote [ and going down in the heart of green turdery, Germany ] and 15% of the vote from there inner city elites is about where the greens will stay until their slow demise becomes something that no longer bothers the more skeptical and pragmatic Australian voting public.
We live in interesting times where the old political order created and in power since WW2 is beginning to break down as communications technology overwhelms the political, bureaucratic and old media elitist’s control of the old propaganda sources that have enabled the rise of today’s utterly arrogant, self-centred, increasingly limited in vision current utterly impractical, socially ghettoed academically based elites.
Nor do I expect the current European Union to continue on its its present form with a steadily trending dictator type EU bureaucracy imposing its rule and demands onto what is a diverse collection of a multitudinous selection of diverse cultures and languages spread over thousands of kilometre of a major land mass.
I suspect the EU will be forced to devolve in the years ahead into a much looser grouping of nations where a slow centuries long integration process might eventually create a United States of Europe as was orginally envisaged for the currently politically forced fed EU.
We do indeed live in interesting times which are about to get much more interesting if Trump becomes American President as there are one hell of a lot of foreign politicians who shoved their oversized egos and unwanted noses into the American political scene and called Trump everything they could lay their names to.
Trump as the potential President is going to owe quite a lot of very high status elites of every stripe, both American and foreign, one hell of a lot of very big paybacks.
And he might just do just that and who can blame him if he does.
220
Good to hear you’re alive ROM. Shame about the not well bit.
Regarding politics and grabbermint, this appears to be a turning point of sorts. Let’s hope it works out well for the US and other aligned countries. I just hope the general corruptions ends as well.
80
Very glad you’re still around ROM especially to see this shrinking of every leftards safe space bigly. 🙂
80
Glad to hear you are feeling better.
If you aren’t and are still infectious please go immediately to the nearest ABC building.
80
“of where Shorten hopes to be after the next election.”
If the Liberals don’t get rid of Turnbull pretty quick smart.. that may be the outcome. !!
62
Nobody will remember a post I made here some months ago but it referred to my lifetime of observations that when life gets tough people will move towards the political right.
And that the western world at least was beginning to move towards the political right .
Easy times, easy money always seem to allow the socialistic political organisations to gain the upper hand until the OPM sand public tolerance for stupidity and arrogance and corruption finally runs out and then the populace finally exerts its power and the political , bureaucratic and social shift, often a very rapid and unexpected shift towards the political right appears to everybody’s surprise and to the utter confoundment and utter consternation of those luxury loving elites who thought that they were forever established as the political and socially superior gods whose positions were unchallengeable and whose task it was to hand down the commandments of the only acceptable political correctness and righteous thinking to the ignorant masses far below them in status and intellectual equivalence.
Whilst of course, those same uncouth lower status masses should ensure the continuation of the luxurious life styles of those same elites.
The political right across the western world is on the upsurge, Trump in the USA, Marie Le Pen in France, Merkel and her unlimited immigration and now fast increasing immigrant created crimes and socially and culturally unacceptable behaviour across western Europe is looking less and less likely to be re-elected along with an increasing rejection by many German civil centres of”refugee” housing along with an increasing realisation that possibly more than half the so called refugees particularly from North Africa are anything but straight out economic carpet baggers ; the rise of right wing parties in Scandinavia; Brexit was a driven by British lower class right trending views on the EU and its uncontrolled borders.
Plus many other examples, all indicating a revolt and an upheaval by the long suffering lower castes in developed nations who have finally had enough of being preached to and instructed on how and what they must think and say by an increasingly arrogant and out of touch, self isolated socially ghettoed academically and rigid socialistically based self serving hard green leftist social caste.
80
Welcome back – it’s great to see that not only are you recovering but that you are still in fine form.
This seems to be the year of the beginning of rolling back the Marxist infiltration into Western societies. So much damage has been done that we (the West) needed Trump to be elected, despite all his flaws, to keep the momentum going.
40
Not to mention that they (the public) are getting sick and tired of having to pay for these “elites’ and their fanciful ideas.

PA 71% likely for Trump
MI 79% likely for Trump
AK 95% likely for Trump

Well people did think today and thought wisely.

Thank you, JoNova, and to everyone else here who realized the impossibility of false claims Earth’s climate is independent of Earth’s heat source!
Thanks to your courage, the alliance of crooked scientists and crooked politicians has suffered its first major defeat.
281
Thank you sir for your decades of scientific work, early discovery of our current predicament and your personal growth towards inner peace.

I must admit though, that this is the first election anywhere on this backwater planet that has somewhat piqued my interest, ever. Probably wishing that the “hope and change” espoused years ago would actually have positive meaning and outcome for the US.
P.S: I’m hiding aboard the ISS in a small electrical cabinet that used to contain some guidance circuits. I hope they won’t need them. I plan a trip to the surface when this is all over.
60
Are you a silicon, carbon or sulphur based life form?
inquiring minds, carbon based, would like to know?
🙂
50
Sulphur based ROM, which is why I’m delaying my re-entry due to all the anticipated celebratory fireworks messing with my chemistry and, trying to figure out how to hijack the next Soyuz or use the emergency one if it takes too long.
See, the toilets up here don’t know how to handle my refuse – the main difficulty is accessing them while everyone’s asleep. Those things are loud.
50
When I fa*t.. there is definitely a sulphurous content to the aromatics.
32
Really? That seems as weird to me as my soot-puffs would seem to you.
20
Sulphur? you may be possessed by the same demon as Hillary Blairton.
You haven’t been weather cooking by chance?
40
Maybe its the eggs?
52
Andy
Careful! If you’re brewing phosphane or di-phosphane in them they can self ignite.
20
“they can self ignite”
Darn.. Not again !!!
31
Phosphine please, or rather don’t. Remant of chemistry project involving diphenylphosphine (advantage it didn’t smell nearly as much and very much less prone to spontaneously ignite). Leaving the laboratory I would doff my lab coat, put on my wool sweater which sat on my desk and take the bus home. I was puzzled for weeks as to why I always had a seat to myself.

Phosphine (IUPAC name: phosphane) is the compound with the chemical formula PH 3. It is a colorless, flammable, toxic gas and pnictogen hydride.

I did check
00
I didn’t really want to know that, Andy. 🙂
But, being a brilliant day, I don’t mind one bit. I’m having a celebration drinkie. Cheers to all!
50
Rosé…. lots… to wash down my tuna mornay cooking. !!
41
What colour is tuna meant to be..????????
31
Well John West started out selling war surplus salmon which was an unatractive grey colour after prolongued storage as “the only salmon that doesn’t go pink in the tin”. I would suggest that you avoid purple, turquoise or scarlet coloured fish.
40
so, a sort of greenish tinge is ok ????
41
LOL! ANDY! Don’t touch anything GREEN, mate, just DON’T!
40
My dear Mum always told me to eat my greens.
Show me a Green, I’ll do everything I can to chew it up.
41
Congratulations President Elect Donald Trump!
140
Well Done USA
220
Congrats to all on this site who supported the man . . .
Hillary TRUMPED ! ! !
Geoff W . . .
120
One more thing . . Yours truly ABC star thinker Geraldine Douge sneered and laughed on Sat morn last when someone suggested that Trump could become President Elect by the following week ‘Oh no I don’t think so’ she replied glibly.
I turned the radio off immediately.
Would love to see her face at this time!!!
GeoffW
80
“Would love to see her face at this time!!!”
Nope, not interested.. I have a delicate stomach
51
Now its jail time for [snip “people who commit crimes”]
It Swamp Draining time!!
Not to mention the tearing up of the Marxist CAGW Paris BS.
Finally a USA president that will, and has called CAGW exactly what it is…..’BullShit’!
40
I would like to see Clinton convicted, if for no other reason than to serve as a warning to others, but we don’t need the distraction adding to the difficulties of starting up a new administration. I think it would be best for Trump to pardon her, which could even be under the condition the she never be politically active again. This would serve 3 purposes, first it validates her guilt, second, we avoid the cost and spectacle of politics on trial and finally, it’s a powerful gesture of good will aimed at Democrats which indicates that the new administration wants to get down to business and doesn’t want politics as usual to get in the way.
42
Good thinking, but the only condition should be that she leave the country and take up residence in Qatar, where she has squirreled away nearly two billion dollars.
The other condition is not necessary, as she will be dead in less than two years anyhow. The whole impetus was to get her in place so that Obama’s puppet Tim Kaine could be installed when she croaks.
30
If she has 2 billion, she can do a lot of damage from Qatar. Jail is the only answer.
00
While Presidential pardons are absolute, they are not conditional. And the word of a Clinton is worthless. So she could break the “deal” with no legal ramifications.. And she would.
20
It’s the gesture that matters.
12
Sorry mate,We all want her and the “Corrupt”Clinton Crime Syndicate put on trial.NO pardons what so ever. The people who have been taken for a ride by these “Low Lives”such as Haiti, deserve it.
40
Yes, he has won. Real Clear Politics is recording 277 EC votes for him. Other pundits are predicting up to 300+, so if that happens, not even very close.
I was wrong, I really didn’t think he could win. I’m still nonplussed that enough people ignored the malicious sneering of the meeja and voted to end the march of Political Correctness. And they lied to the pollsters as well – I like that bit a lot.
120
The media overplayed their hand and were so obviously corrupt that media endorsement became toxic. Nobody with a gram of brains believes anything they say, anymore.
20
RealClearPolitics has called Pennsylvania for Trump! (RCP is the standard setting web-based authority on politics, recognized both Left and Right. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/) THIS MEANS Trump wins! 274 Elevtoral Votes (270 being winning).
The London Express quotes Nigel Farage, calling this event “BIGGER than Brexit!”
Fox Business in New York is reporting that Democrat sources say a meeting by Trump with President Obama on Thursday is in the works.
While the tidying up on “Final Calls” awaits, plans for a transition to President Trump, with Republican majorities in Congress, appear to be lining up. Therefore, quick legislative reform actions and innovations by next spring looms likely.
At the very worst, Arizona plus New Hampshire would result in a 269-269 tie, then going to Congress (The House) for a tie-breaking vote – for Trump, naturally.
More likely, counting of votes in a few states will be completed tomorrow. In Pennsylvania, for example, it takes 0.5% race to trigger automatic recount. At this point, the margin is about twice that, and so a recount – which could run into next week – is unlikely to be required.
That’s how I see it here in Denver, Colorado
And THANK YOU, Joanne, for your first-class reportage on events half-way around the world, as well as on science and climate of world-wide interest. Thank you1
110
““two great political revolutions” seen across the world in 2016.”
There was another one in 2013, Australia led the way…
… let us hope there is not the undermining and back-stabbing that brought that one down.
52
The RCP final composite of polls still has Hillary winning. Don’t get me wrong. I check out the RCP site often but the problem is that they get their information from the same corrupt base that all the major media does.
31
Yes, and Podesta has now stated that there will be no concession speech until tomorrow at least, as there are “still votes coming in”. Truckloads of early votes still being found ?
Not over yet … this is tiresome.
60
“Truckloads of early votes still being found !!!!! “
62
With the ink still not dry.
00
Maybe he’s hoping for some votes by email. 😉
62
What that is code for is that that Hillary can’t face her followers that were lied to so much. She is going to have to take some drugs to stiffen her up to face the reality of what has happened. She has sold her soul to the devil and still lost.
50
What that is code for is that that Hillary can’t face her followers that were lied to so much. She is going to have to take some drugs to stiffen her up to face the reality of what has happened. She has sold her soul to the devil and still lost.
60
I must say, I feel almost as happy as when Tony Abbott and the Liberals won in 2013 !!
102
We “Deplorables” have done what we can to try and save our Republic. It remains to be seen if the Donalds actions will match his rhetoric. But if it does the AGW scam has more than one foot in the grave me thinks. The green blob is quivering in anticipation of what is to come.
140
“We “Deplorables””
The only worthwhile thing Hillary Clinton ever did, was coining that term.
Up there with “Delcons”
92
We few, we deplorable few, we band of Delcons.
100
Not so few 😉
70
Clinton HQ:
People are crying and just don’t understand what’s happening.
John Podesta tells the sad fans to go home and get some sleep.
Hillary is nowhere to be seen.
The “glass ceiling” erected specifically for Hillary to smash in a triumph of symbolism overhead remains in place.
Julie Bishop worries about the TPP and suggests Obama may pass it on his way out the door.
Congratulations to Donald Trump and all our American mates. 🙂
190
Julie Bishop should take Malcolm, and they should both go and file for unemployment benefits.
142
AndyG55,
Perhaps we could have them both meet up with Donald and sort that stuff out. I reckon he would convince them.
Under normal circumstances, our Julie would meet up with John Kerry but he’s missing in action. That’s right, the biggest moral challenge of our time has taken precedence over the election.
John Kerry went to Antarctica on Monday 7th November and that’s but one of many stops on his way to Marrakech COP22. What a guy . . .
The press are asking perfectly reasonable questions about the trip so they can write their story.
Watch the State Dept. Press Secretary guy read his press briefing script and stumble and bumble his way through answers attempting to justify an entirely purpose free trip. It’s just comical in it’s incompetence.
Here’s the YouTube video.
(Ignore the conspiracy theory at the beginning if you will – Start at 2:14)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0zBls5Xz1k
31
Speaking of Marrakech COP22, I wonder what is happening there?
20
I imagine it’s exactly the same agenda as always.
Item 1. Figure out a way to separate the plebs from their money in order to achieve Item 2.
Item 2. Invest proceeds from Item 1 to further the aims of the UNFCCC which is to organise COP23, COP24, COP25 . . etc. etc.
50
Any Americans that want to go to COP23 or beyond , will have to pay out of their own pocket.
31
Rats deserting the sinking ship?
10
I agree – they are both useless zombies.
100
The only ones that are shaking their heads wondering what has happened are the leftists twits who only know how to lie and cheat. Trump not only won but won by a landslide despite the leftist mainstream media. Imagine what would have happened of the media was unbiased! Trump would have won all the states, except for a couple or so of die hard sicko leftists states.
51
You do realise that the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre, where Clinton was going to make her “victory speech” was built by Donald J Trump !
OH, the irony.
80
OH, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre has always had a glass roof. Been there many times. You can see it on Google Earth. Too bad we can’t post pictures here, I have a few of the inside.
40
Trump 266 electoral votes ..unbeatable…hope the nuclear clock just wound back a few minutes from midnight! Hope after Jan those coal fired power stations in the USA wont have to be shut down. possible good news for CO2.
O did I enjoy seeing hose Yahoo7 journalists weep! (chuckles). Serves them right, MSM go join the dumb club! People power has won against the NWO!
90
Hopefully this means ( amongst other things) the US EPA will be cut back to it’s core business viz. protecting US environment rather than meddling in global Climate Change™ politics.
141
I wouldn’t bet on it.
They will just rebrand Climate Change into something else. Bureaucracy never gets smaller, it just repurposes itself.
00
Just announced Trump has won. Clinton has conceded!
Donald J. Trump the 43rd President.
60
So when can we expect to see both Clintons behind bars?
61
Ooops 45th President
40
Hillary really showed her class in her speech conceding defeat, didn’t she?
30
TRUMP ELECTED 45th US PRESIDENT!
Pennsylvania calls it for Trump!
60
It is interesting to see how all of the ABC and political commentators are expressing such surprise at Trump being elected President. They obviously only listened to the MSM. I wonder if now they might start thinking about CAGW without being so influenced by them. After all the MSM failed to influence the majority on Brexit and POTUS. Surely it is time for our Politicians to think hard about the wasteful expenditure they are committing on renewables.
110
Our politicians should be ashamed of themselves, but I suspect they are not.
60
Called for Trump. Apparently Hillary has called Donald to concede.
Looking at the numbers at RealClearPolitics, the final result looks like about 300 or so to Trump.
Go the Donald!
100
It would seem that, although rare, some prayers ARE answered.
100
There will be some bed wetting in the old ABC tonight..
150
There won’t be any bed wetting at the Clinton Foundation tonight, though.
They’ll be up all night feeding the paper shredders . . . 😉
160
I wonder how much Clinton Foundation money is going to get transferred to some ‘safe’ (aka secret) off-shore account.
40
Some sources are saying it was all transferred this morning. $1.8b
40
On the Drum on ABC about an hour ago, one of the panel was already attributing the Trump victory to spike of “out and out racism”. Having viewed their opponents through a lens of hate, their mental toolbox is short of adequate explanatory power for their victory.
But all camps will have their disappointments.
The lefty Progressives are disappointed today as their champion has lost for the second time.
The disappointment of the centre right is still in our future as the test of Trumpism has barely begun.
70
““out and out racism”. “
as usual with the Drum.. diametrically opposed to reality.
73
” “out and out racism””
Actually, the Drum may be correct..
Clinton was constantly pushing the racial meme.. and I suspect it hurt her badly.
52
They are “Mental Midgets”
10
I suspect the strong ethnic vote was for Trump. As is the case in Australia, the strongest opponents of illegal immigration comes from those who got in on the lefty bandwagon.
50
That’s all they have for argument, the hard wired dissonance will not accept anything outside the accepted narrow narrative, as we have observed CO2 is the harbinger of atmospheric doom so racism is the disease of free speech.
60
The Victory Speech has just finished. I’ve added a livestreaming youtube. Hopefully someone will post the short actual speech so I can link to that.
110
Please don’t post Turnbull’s speech !!
74
Agreed.
That was the limpest speech EVAH . . predictable, though.
62
I listened to the first few minutes.. waffling slime !!
53
“Jobs and Growth” goes along well with “Stronger Together” don’t you think?
20
Jo? The video at the top of the story (Trump’s speech) has been blocked by fox news for copyright reasons. Petty bunch aren’t they. Anyway, I thought you should know.
20
So, where does DLDonald now go with his pledge to lock up Hillary Clinton?? Does he deliver on it or not and in what timeframe??
27
Once the head of the FBI is replaced with someone with balls. !
93
You mean a real man with intestinal fortitude who his beholden to no politician or other criminal.
80
Perhaps James Comey could donate his?
60
He has to find them first !
I doubt Hillary will give them back.
73
Again try to learn some realpolitik!
00
Phil,
No need for that.
Winners are grinners and losers can please themselves.
Leave it to the Senate or The House to follow up and investigate if needed.
The Donald won by playing the ‘Not A Politician’ card but he is in politics big time as of now and he needs to make a few smart moves. If there is to be any action he should be distant from it.
I have been over at the Conversation and did I gloat and skite?
Lets just say the term SCHADENFREUDE got a real good workout and that is just the beginning.
Jo
The Republicans have The Presidency and both Houses.
That surely means that The Climate Scammers will not have any access to The American Public Purse from any Government Taxpayer Source for the next 4 years. At least.
China and India give the issue Lip Service. The Russians think it a joke and The American political system is now sceptical.
Would you be able to comment on that aspect?
70
Yet Trump has given and undertaking, at least convinced his supporters he’ll “lock her up”? Its ok for him to back off from that then??
18
“Its ok for him to back off from that then??”
Pretty sure he won’t need to..
Would that upset you phlop?
Go find a safe space, child-mind.
53
Phil, We will get Malcolm Lord Pollywaffle to have a dual sitting of our Reps and Senate and issue a strongly worded demand that The Donald must go get Hillary.
Something about a Core Promise..or Was that Mr Abbott?
Read My Lips… It Is L…A…W…or was that Mr Keating?
If The worst happens and Hillary is indicted she can seek Sanctuary at The Channel Ten ‘The Project Show’. I watched it tonight, as I am getting far too much of a buzz from The Luvvy Schadenfreude, (and yours too Phil, thank you) and Carrie, Gretel Killeen and Jamilla Rivzi former Mammamia and now News Corp Clueless Establishment Conformist did not let me down.
Where next to search for this Schadenfreude of shock and dismay that The Donald has gifted.
Any Mainstream media website and how would the Climate Catastrophist Websites be greeting The Election of Uber Climate Sceptics (The House and The Senate) which now controls the Climate Purse.
I Love this form of Schadenfreude and I know that is bad but I know you all do too.
Its not really that bad so lets go Schadenfreuding.
60
The analytics by pollsters go on in maybe 10 hours, in Washington, DC. This is when the pieces in the puzzle of victory are first chewed over.
My guess is that it’s because the “undecided” vote or late deciders broke for the ousider, hence Trump.
But why Pennsylvania and Michigan and Wisconsin, specifically? And not elsewhere?
At any rate, the great important work of CHANGE lies ahead.
To begin with, a friend of a friend is a senior economic advisor to Trump, economist Stephen Moore. He authored a new pro-fracking book, out only a few months ago, entitled “Fueling Freedom: The Mad War on Energy.”
Trump’s speech on energy deveolpment in Bismarck, near the Bakken oil patch in North Dakota in late May, is worth your time – if you like fossil fuels, as coal rich Aussies should! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74MIwmvDuFc)
In addition to this, Myron Ebell of the Competitive Enterprise Institute (in Washington, DC), has been tapped by Trump to re-organize the stifling, monstous Environmental Protection Agency.
Whether or not he will enact the plan CATO Institute’s Pat Michaels presented to Heartland Institute sponsored International Climate Conference in Las Vegas, two years ago in July or not – to devolve moste of the worthy work of the EPA back to the individual states, in the style of american federalism – I don’t know. But I suspect so.
50
Nice.
Make Western Civilization Great Again.
Start with protecting and supporting its historical ethnic stock.
78
Your heartfelt concern for the plight of the native American Indians is duly noted. 😉
51
You’re being a [snip]. This is Western—European—Civilization I’m talking about.
My native American ancestors were late-comers in building it, and only to a small percentage of what it is.
[a little harsh] ED
30
When the “climate swamp” is drained let’s hope that all of the parasites within it go down the drain too.
141
There’s plenty of work for them to do. Dismantling windmills by hand would be a great start. Plenty of fresh air, good solid exercise and probably quite sustainable (for a time) too.
41
‘The “glass ceiling” erected specifically

‘Triumph eh?’ Say, let’s remove the ‘I’
as in ‘IN-titlement,’in-titlement ter

Next, let’s remove the ‘H, ‘in ‘triumph,
that’s ‘Hillary,’of course,’Hillary,’

90
Beth,
Well done of course . . . but I reckon you’re overthinking this. 😉
30
Thank you, Jo, for covering this from beginning to end. This was and is a hugely important election that has the potential to change the world and roll back the craziness that has gripped Western society.
I could not leave your site alone, so hungry was I to learn what was happening. I could not and cannot trust the media, and the sites I thought would cover it simply did not.
I am thrilled that Trump won. I hope he wastes no time in tearing the green veil down. I hope he quickly stops the waste of resources, the destruction of the environment, the cheating, the lies and the corruption.
May the MSM wake up! We’ve had enough!
What this election teaches the world is that the “little people” matter. That every vote counts and that the giant, greedy tyranny can be brought down if people stand together and refuse to bow down. Ever.
I am Australian born and bred and today I say, “God Bless America.”
Thanks A.D.E. Delighted to be helpful. — Jo
160
A.D.,
The first is that the winner needs to “shaddup”! After January 20 2017, is the first time he can make any difference whatsoever! Anything now just feeds the media!
00
I have no problem with President Elect Trump ruffling feathers. Every outcry against him shows his detractors up for what they are.
(And thank you, Jo, for adding your comment to mine. What a wonderful year this is!)
00
Bigger than Brexit: This is a win for workers and the middle class.
It’s a major loss for the old media and political correctness. Corruption gets pegged back.
Not a moment too soon
— Jo
PS His victory speech video added.
332
Now back to the science.
In the expectation that the AGW scam will now be arrested, there will be a big need to make sure that the “baby is not thrown out with the bathwater”.
e.g. We still need research on the capture of solar energy. But this must be with realistic objectives, not subsidised applications.
And I, too, thank you for the work you put into this.
42
Seriously?
some interesting insight from Sept.
216
You poor thing, Phlop..
I hope your mommy has removed all sharp objects from your bedroom tonight !
71
Sore loser. In case you haven’t noticed philthegeek, America had just given the biggest F-YOU to the corrupt leftist establishment and media.
110
Phil,
I have no idea where you are from, but I can say you are indeed in shock. I agree with Jo that having President Trump elect, is good for the middle class as he will NOT do the following Hillarious said she would do:
Put a lot of coal miners out of work (Hurt Middle class)
Spend estimated TRILLION $$$ on “renewables” (Benefit Crony Liberal Capitalism, hurt the Middle Class)
Create a Carbon Tax (Hurt Middle Class)
Raise taxes (Hurt Middle Class)
Subsidize the “Renewable” industry with Tax money (Hurt the Middle Class)
Fight oil exploration and Drilling (Hurts the Middle Class)
You need to stop being so ignorant on how dangerous, Hillarious is. I live in America, where I have seen what an ugly human being Hillary really is, seen it vividly since the early 1990’s. She has so many skeletons in the closet, that they had to buy a warehouse to hide them all.
Leftists have to grow up,stop being so close minded about the danger of leftist liberalism, where they deliberately REDUCE freedom with their anti gun silliness, always want to raise taxes, chose Judges to push their agenda and so on. Nationalize Health Care and more. The road to nationalized Socialism as their goal.
Anyone who is leftist,is anti America.
150
The trouble with “Socialism”is eventually you run out of other peoples money.(Margaret Thatcher)
10
Corruption gets pegged back
Yes. The sneering abuse of power, the unfettered Noble Cause Corruption – all disrupted 🙂
140
Don’t forget it’s also a huge slap in the face of the mainstream media. I hope Trump figures out a way to force them to apologise for their deceitful agenda and make them get back to fair and open reporting, not act as a propaganda machine for the left.
90
Maybe cut any government purse strings. Let the news organizations (like the ABC) carry themselves through honest effort and/or find non-government sponsors.
40
The first is to convert the funding for illicit government from ‘income tax’ taxing the work effort of folk to tax on any form of paid advertising! (scamming)
Highly progressive tax, with the highest on any ‘political advertising’ at 12 x, 1200% of whatever the producers of such advertising get in funds, thereby going directly to reducing the US national debt. “If they want’s ta play dey got-sta pay!” Even US mail ads need be taxed at exorbitant rates! All quality producers know that ‘word of mouth’ increases sales and decreases cost!
-will-
00
Fantastic result! Perhaps over 300 electoral votes.
Now let’s drain the swamp. The many swamps.
My year would be complete if the Liberal’s removed Malcolm Turnbull. The 1,000 ABC jounalists could go on their very long holiday and wonder whether their jobs would be kept. As for the Clinton News Network, that was funny and true.
141
Don’t forget the ABC is part of the swamp that needs to be drained. The good thing is once the ABC is drained there will be nobody left so it might as well be closed down.
91
Nice. 🙂
50
Don’t they have to homogenise these votes?
111
Fortunately, Gavin et al don’t work for the vote counters.
72
So 55 plus million ‘deplorables’ have spoken!
And have spoken correctly!
The Donald for President…..correction….’The Donald’ IS President!
Just another 70 days of that Dud El Presidente O’Bummer, then out forever.
Boy, is the AlpgreensBC feral….. so enjoyable to watch!!
110
Also Great coverage Jo!
I say much thanks,as i am sure everybody else here would think similarly.
110
As I said else where, the word “Deplorables” is probably HRC’s only positive input to USA society.

Ed Klein, former editor-in-chief of the New York Times Magazine and author of Guilty as Sin: Uncovering New Evidence of Corruption and How Hillary Clinton and the Democrats Derailed the FBI Investigation, was a guest of Breitbart News Daily on Election Day.
SiriusXM host Alex Marlow recalled many interesting conversations with Klein about the insularity, and increasing thuggishness, of the Left, a bad omen for a possible Hillary Clinton presidency. Klein said:
“Let me give you an example of what you’re talking about. After I left the New York Times in 1988 – that’s a long time ago – I started writing books. I wrote a lot of books about the Kennedys. And I was on ABC, CBS, NBC, Charlie Rose, CNN. They loved me. They invited me back. I was the toast of the town, quote-unquote. And then I wrote a book called The Truth About Hillary. One night, shortly after I wrote that book, I got a phone call as my wife and I were dressing to go to a dinner party, and it was from the host of the dinner party – a guy whose name I will not mention on air.”…READ ALL

Democrat operative, Pat Caddell, before he election:
AUDIO: 8 Nov: Breitbart: Dan Riehl: Pat Caddell: 2016’s ‘New Paradigm’ – ‘Mainstream America’ Versus ‘Arrogant’ Political Class ‘Who Usurp Democracy’
Pat Caddell told Breitbart News Daily SiriusXm host Alex Marlow Tuesday that he believes Donald Trump voters “are much more motivated” than Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s supporters.
“I think he’ll win today’s voting by a large margin,” added Caddell, while acknowledging that he could not predict if it would be enough to beat early voting totals in some areas.
Monday, Caddell penned a column for Fox News, where he is a contributor, entitled “The real election surprise? The uprising of the American people”:
“For more than two years the American people, in a great majority, from left to right, have been in revolt against the political class and the financial elites in America. It is a revolt with historic parallels, most closely resembling the Jacksonian revolution of the 1820s. It is an uprising. It is a peaceful uprising of a people who see a country in decline and see nothing but failure in the performance of their leadership institutions. And they have signaled their intent to take back their country and to reclaim their sovereignty.”
Caddell said Tuesday on Breitbart News Daily, “Look, we are in an insurgency, a revolt, an uprising, as I call it. The American people have had it, and it’s interesting; there’s a broad potential coalition. This is not just Left and Right.”…

Thanks Hillary. Your “deplorables” have taken notice and done as you asked by taking out the trash. I wonder how you’d look if you swapped your pantsuit for an orange jumpsuit – deplorable?
111
Consider yourself insulted.
Obama: it will be ‘personal insult’ if African Americans do not vote
“Barack Obama said on Saturday night he will take it as a “personal insult” if the African American community fails to turn out for the presidential election and encouraged black voters to support Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.”
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/sep/18/obama-congressional-black-caucus-speech-clinton
110
🙂 Obama was/is an insult to the USA.. GONE soon !!
111
He should also return his Nobel Peace Prize. He has started so many wars since the gained office the first time. In fact it’s very likley he started ISIS in the hope of bringing down the Syrian regime. Unfortunately for him he didn’t expect Russia to come into the picture to spoil his evil plans.

From “The Destruction Of Sennacherib” by Lord Byron — second stanza
Like the leaves of the forest when Summer is green
That host with their banners at sunset were seen
Like the leaves of the forest when Autumn hath blown
That host on the morrow lay withered and strown

One of the key metrics I have noticed is the voting results of the District of Columbia – The Washington Beltway. The voting I saw was Clinton 93% to Trump 4% This essentially means that there are no Republicans at the heart of the US Government at any level. I think this is an astonishing fact – how can you have unbiased Government with such a statistic?
150
I wonder how our public servants in Canberra would compare, the public service is the stronghold of union membership.
120
Last month when out I happened to end up at a table of mostly school teachers, when I mentioned that Trump would be good for America they looked at me like I produced a severed head and plonked it on the table, I was challenged to explain and two got up and walked off after 30 seconds, there is no tolerating the intolerant.
231
Perhaps I should mention.. I used to be a school teacher. 😉
81
You are a rare beast today in the blackboard jungle, the rest could be named Otto…..
40
I did say, “used to be”. I left high school maths teaching some 20 years ago.
41
It never ceases to amaze me that leftists who teach are so easy to manipulate.
90
I thought they would be used to severed heads and the like. Recall the ad the leftists produced showing exploding heads of children who refused to comply with the man-made global warming hoax? The left are so sick and evil.
71
At my Toastmasters meeting I proposed a toast to Future President Donald Trump! Several of the members groaned, but they were all forced to stand up and toast him anyway, it is the rule 🙂 (I had offered to let anyone else give a toast instead! No one volunteered, so they were stuck with my toast, like it or not!)
I got into an argument with one of my friends debating the relative merits and disadvantages of Trump vs Clinton. After I poked holes in all his anti-Trump and pro-Clinton arguments, he didn’t want to argue any more 🙂 I am not sure if he will still be my friend or not!
90
“After I poked holes in all his anti-Trump and pro-Clinton arguments, he didn’t want to argue any more”
This is the same response I get when I poke holes in the science supporting CAGW.
61
Similarly, I’d guess.
70
The vote is that of the Democrat plantation dwellers. The great majority of government workers live in Maryland and northern Virginia; they would not dare rub shoulders with the slum dwellers.
20
Turnbull better take note – he’s next to be booted out – sooner rather than later I hope. I hope the current momentum against mainstream politicians continues to the next elections. If they do we should have a new party formed and possible win or we get a new leader in the Liberal Party who understands just what happened in America. The left and centre-left of politics are now poison.
120
Let’s hope the Liberal Party dumps him because the thought of union managed and controlled Labor led by Bill Shorten or even the other most likely potential leaders, with due regard for 2007 to 2013 and the damage they inflicted upon our nation in such a short time period, another Labor government would be terrible.
110
Brexit, plus, plus, plus!
80
I wish we could have our turn right now. I feel we are now on our own drifting further to the left with Turnbull and his comrades while the rest of the word is going the other way, including Russia and China. It’s now time we have our own Trump.
50
I also wish this site was more like Bolt’s so we can edit our own posts to correct spelling and other mistakes!
51
Nah.. I like spelling mistakes. 🙂
41
Just as well…I made one further down because I was trying to post when I should have been sleeping!
30
We Canadians sympathize with you Australians. Hang in there!
60
We deplorables did it. Nuff said. CAGW is next up.
171
The employees at their ABC should be flushed out.
140
Yes this movement should push on undeterred……
70
Hmmm. No red thumb despite one troll being present. Obviously the troll doesn’t work for the ABC or perhaps he is one of those who think the ABC is too right wing (yes, they do exist).
60
The trolls are either scuttling about trying to find out what to say from their masters, or too busy weeping.
21
Next down under battle, 18c against free speech.
A serf.
111
Not enough. The next battle for us is to get rid of the fake leader in the Liberal Party and put in place a real Liberal leader. Even Abbott is now no longer relevant given that Trump has turned the tide away from the nation destroying cancer called socialism. We need a person like Trump to drain the swamp here in Australia. I bet there is one available and we must find him.
41
Last election, I checked every party and independent. One Nation was the only lot that had a clue about Agenda 21 and they won me over immediately.
I never realized I’d fallen for the lies told about Pauline Hanson, but the more I studied what the party was about (equality for ALL Australians), the more I realized I had been suckered in for years by the MSM. I’m ashamed of that, I had no idea I had been manipulated.
One Nation is on top of the green scam. Malcolm Roberts (One Nation) was the one who asked for hard evidence the CSIRO used upon which Australia’s policy is based on. They recognize the scam. They got four seats filled last election. I think they will do better again next election. They’ve got my vote from now on.
71
“One Nation is on top of the green scam” – FOR CLARITY – One Nation is on top of THE SITUATION of the green scam (not PART of). 🙂
31
Typos everywhere – sorry. I’m still on my first coffee of the day…
30
Pauline my be our “Version”of Trump.Perhaps that is why the”Lying,Do Nothing,Career Politicians”are so scared of her?
20
The MSM here in OZ will get a migraine.
Soros will succumb to a heart attack.
So will Kissenger and Zbig.
Maybe:
Trump will finally force FBI to prosecute the Clintons.
Obama will try something for his ‘exit suprise’ 70 days to go still.
50
Breaking news: Obama burns lips on Trumps limousine exhaust in attempt to blow it up!
80
What could Obama do? The people have had their say in that democracy.
40
I’m waiting for the leftist retards to blame the Trump landslide on Russian hackers. However, I don’t think they are that stupid to claim that but it’s not below them.
50
I believe that Donald Trump was very clever talking about vote rigging, sowing seeds of doubt about the integrity of the voting system and by doing so making it so much harder for the manipulators to do their dirty work and not be suspected.
80
Yep.. the left scammer still don’t realise just how well they have been PLAYED !!
71
I have looked at and enjoyed this site for years but have never posted as any thing I could say had been said by smarter people than me.But I am into hod rodding (yes I know very nasty)so I flew into to L.A and drove to bakersfield to see an event there (very good lots of noise and co2 prodiced there) then on to las veges and back to L.A.On the way stopping here and there.I believe the average media hack should do the same and then they would not be surprised by today’s result. For the elite to survive they need to expand the middle class in a big way as outside the big cities the old middle class has become the working poor.If an outsider can see it they must be looking other way I love the U.S.A and find the quite desperation upsetting in the greatest county in the world.I hope the donald can produce but at least middle America have told the elite listen to me or you will lose your influence.I wish you the best and if you kick this climate change rubbish in the bin try and drag australia with you.
101
Gavin, thanks. It’s good to hear real reports from the front line so to speak.
51
“I am into hod rodding (yes I know very nasty)”.
Gavin, Nothing wrong with hot rods. When I was a kid, many many years ago, I saved up my pocket money to buy HOT ROD so I could drool over the amazing machines. It represented the freedom loving lifestyle and ingenuity of the ordinary bloke, something I hope Mr Trump can reignite is this stifling nanny state we are now forced to endure.
Graham in the land down under.
30
There IS a Santa Claus!
60
Possibility the Clintonistas didn’t rig the vote machines well enough as they thought Hillary’s win was in the bag! Fools (hahahaha).
Yahoo7 news: “The world is in shock”.. (not the alternative media and the working class)… only the globalists who are now on the run world wide…
Why are they so in shock? The alternative REAL polls had Trump ahead weeks ago..they just believe their own BS.
80
I am looking forward to the restoration of good working relations with Russia, cooperation to solve the mess that is Ukraine and a joint solution to Syria without Obama’s insistence that ISIL are the good guys and Assad is the bad guy. There are no good guys. The place is pre medieval.
Russia has had to deal with this problem for a thousand years. There is no perfect solution and the US needs to listen to the experts who count many problem states as their immediate neighbours. As for Clinton’s repeated threat of nuclear war just to get voter’s attention, that was unbecoming a Secretary of State, terrifying and threatened the end of the world.
Russia needs to be brought in from the cold and treated with respect. The mess in the Middle East, in so many countries as a result of Obama’s meddling just has to be fixed. From Afghanistan to Tunisia, the Arab world is in flames. This once again threatens the stability of the world.
Reducing Carbon dioxide emissions can wait. Forever.
100
I hope the first order of business is to break away from all the climate change nonsense and stop all subsidies to renewables. Al Gore should also be sued for several trillions of dollars for the scam he has perpetrated but I don’t expect it to happen.
51
OT,
I am just back from listening to Dr Tim Ball deliver the first Bob Carter Memorial Address to a meeting of the Australian Environmental Foundation.
He did a great job, ranging over the origins of Environmentalism and the rise of the Marxists though our our Western Institutions to the present day. He said the chosen external scare has been Global Warming and the opportunistic vilification of CO2 has been the chosen vehicle to scare us all and corral us toward a World Government.
Dr Ball had some info about Donald Trumps advisors. Apparently he has chosen Dr Roy Spencer as his scientific advisor on Climate Change. He also will likely move quickly against the EPA.
I had the opportunity and pleasure of meeting Annie and her husband. We had a long chat.
I talked a bit about the mission of the Institute of Public Affairs and its influence on Australian politics. I said I would post up the application details here:
https://payments.ipa.org.au/join/
My thanks to the Australian Environmental Foundation for organising Dr Ball to come to Melbourne and to Jo for letting me know about it.
101
Roy Spencer as climate science adviser; Wow!
Trump has sure picked a very straight shooter there in Roy Spencer who tells it like it is if the report is correct.
And who is hated and derided by the alarmists for that very honesty that Roy has always shown.
.
Trump sure looks like he is about to do a very major cleanup of climate alarmist science and maybe a hell of a lot more of what passes for some remotely related form of science today.
Money for infrastructure rebuilding on a continental scale has to come from somewhere and the American middle class as with the Australian middle class, are being bled white with taxes and government imposts already.
So a major cleanup of a whole almost uncountable number of handouts to science and environmental and activists outfits that doesn’t remotely relate to any recognised forms of science or much else in real life like the UN’s IPCC which is specifically set up and has the task incorporated in its charter to find human / anthropogenic effects on the climate, will at least raise some funding for infrastructure rebuilding..
Likewise a major clean out and maybe a clawing back of the billions handed out to the enviro nazis, the renewable energy scammers and other assorted crooks, thieves, scammers and snake oil rent seekers would at least provide some funding to be transferred into an infra structure rebuilding program.
There are no doubt one hell of a lot of plans for a very comfortable and lucrative future in numerous snake oil science ventures that were going to be funded by the Feds / taxpayers have just been turned into total mush leaving the progenitors of those nefarious schemes with a very large problem of explaining to all their supplicants why they weren’t going to be boarding that gravy train for a some years yet, if ever.
81
Thank you for that link Peter C. It was good to meet you and chat. We were delighted to have the chance to see and hear Tim Ball; well worth the effort to come down to Melbourne.
I’m posting this very late as I fell asleep in my chair while watching stuff about the election on the box. We weren’t home until at least 1130pm and had to unpack the shopping. Well, living up country one does take the opportunity to stock up at the Lilydale Aldi! Our self-promised ‘fush and chups’ in L’dale didn’t happen; the shops had closed. We should have gone to Riverland before leaving Melbourne…sigh!
What a huge day! Firstly, the slab of our new church was poured this morning. Secondly the election of Donald Trump and thirdly the inaugeral Robert Carter Memorial Address with Dr Tim Ball. I’ll not forget today in a hurry!
60
Inaugural…sigh! I know I was tired, but really!
20
Do you think that might be a”Good Omen”Annie?
20
I do hope so clive. The town has waited a long time for the rebuild of the church after losing its much-loved old one in the 2009 fires.
I have been reading Tim Ball’s book so took it with me to read on the train yesterday. It occurred to me, at the end of his address, to ask him to sign it which he very kindly and willingly did, including a quote from Voltaire.
I’m so relieved at the result of the US election…well done America! You are in my yhoughts and prayers.
20
1) Apparently he has chosen Dr Roy Spencer as his scientific advisor on Climate Change. 2) He also will likely move quickly against the EPA
1) Good
2) Better
3) Best – Trump chooses the replacement judge on SCOTUS. Should keep the EPA in check.
30
A brief respite in
the long war between
open ‘n closed societies;
a momentary gloat, hahah,
‘All yr bases are
belong to us.’
70
I can’t wait for Trump to repudiate Paris and nobble the EPA. He saves almost a Trillion dollars by de-funding them not to mention the economic benefits of Cheaper energy when all the costly green boondoggles are wound back. Australia will almost be forced to wind back it’s own green outrage in order to compete. I hope he also defunds the UN Environment program.
111
The RET must be enemy #1. They talk about 50% renewables but it a joke. At 30% all coal fired stations would have to close as uneconomic, even if you increased the price of electricity, because they have to pay all their income to the Green lobbyists in the form of certificates.
So 30% RET really means 100% ‘unreliables’ at only 30% of the power at many times the cost.
This is far worse than a carbon tax. It is quickly going to cripple Australia and Australian industry and this is happening very quickly. As for Andrews increasing the coal price 300%, it is designed to shut Yallourn and please his Green friends while his minister uses state chauffeurs to shuffle his dogs around as State couriers. What did Victorians do to deserve such people? Or South Australia.
71
In fact since 2011 Bill Shorten and Labor paid the owners of Hazelwood $534 million of our cash just to stay open.
So you have tax money compensating the French owners half a billion dollars for running a business made uneconomic by Labor policy and just to keep people employed. That is policy gone mad. The insanity then is that when Hazelwood closes, electricity prices will shoot up, supply will drop 25% and everyone will be worse off. Then Portland will close and another 1,000 out of work, another 1,000 families with no income thanks to the RET. Even if the 30% figure is reached, that will be 100% of the supply, 1/3 or far less than we need today. Beyond any logic.
Trump is our only hope against this insanity. Turnbull gets his policies from the ABC.
91
Everyone should read this.
20
What?
10
The USA system is far removed from a Parliament.
The Democrats will still be able to block the Republicans due to the filibuster rules of the Senate where a party only needs 41 votes to stop any bills from even being voted on. The Democrats, unlike the Republicans, always vote in blocks and are impervious to the “compromise”.
Two predictions:
1. The lame duck Congress and lame duck President will attempt, and may succeed, in creating utter havoc in their attempt to lock up the Trump Presidency before it starts.
2. The Democrats, and media, and Hollywood, and education, etc., will declare war on Trump unlike anything that happened during the Bush era with the Democrat minority in the Senate cheered daily as the savior of the world. Expect this to happen even today.
Special prediction: The Feds, controlled by the Left, will allow the economy to “slip” into recession all in preparation for the next Federal election cycle with the Democrats blaming Trump on the hope they will retake both the House and the Senate. However, unlike prior Republican leaders, Trump will be a vicious fighter so look for some very turbulent years.
90
That’s so destructive. The Empire Fights Back stuff. It is Elite America vs everybody. Obama does’nt care.
60
If your prediction come true then there will be civil war for sure. I suppose the left are like that. If the can’t win they destroy.
30
There is talk about ending the super-majority in the Senate. Scott Walker, Wisconsin Governor, made a case today to end it. Harry Reid’s actions on ending the fillibuster for judicial nominees when he was the Democrat Senate Majority leader in 2014 plus his statements about ending it completely if the Democrats won the Senate this year holds out hope that the Republicans will end the fillibuster. After all, the Democrats position is they’ll end it when they get the majority whenever that happens.
This puts the Republican Senators trying to defend keeping the fillibuster which only protects the Democrat minority until the Democrats regain the majority. Saying you’ll keep the fillibuster when you need it when you lose the majority rings hollow and really, really dumb since if they lose the majority, the opposition will end the fillibuster they slavishly protected.
Additionally, looking at the 2018 mid-term Senate elections, none of the GOP Senators up for election are from a “blue” state. However, ten Democrat Senators are up for election in States carried by Trump in 2016. This means the Senate would not realistically “flip” to Democrat until 2020 and more likely 2024.
On another note. What has escaped most pundits is the GOP now control the Governorship in 33 States. That’s the magic number of States needed (2/3rds) for the States to Call an Article V Constitutional Convention to propose amendments. It would still take 3/4ths of the States to ratify an amendment (38 States) which would still be very difficult even though the fear mongers would be howling in a Convention were called. Obtw, the Constitution had been modified over 30 times but never via proposals from a Convention of States.
Interesting times, these Trump years.
30
You forget that there’s 300 million “Fire-arms”in America and any trouble from either side of the isles, would be very worrying for the DemocRATS and RINO’s and don’t think that Obama’s private army would hang around to protect him.
10
UPDATE: Listening to the ABC, commentators are talking about the “fear” of a Trump victory.
181
It was amazing that Trump took Florida.
We were told by everyone that all Latinos were against Trump, but they were celebrating en masse. As one said, Trump will stop the crime, stop the drugs. People did not risk everything to get to America only to have the crime and criminals follow them.
Aspirational migrants want what America has, not to destroy the place with left leaning self serving Democrats. The Clintons empitomized people getting rich from public service no matter what the cost to the country. Trump symbolized everything people really want, a strong experienced leader with real principles and vision, not another self serving opportunist. He already has corporate jet travel and limousines and good tickets at the ball game. He has earned them.
At 70 with a big family and from a big family, Trump is far closer to the American ideal and the Latino than the Clintons and the Latinos recognize what he has achieved. No one thinks he went through all that vitriol because he wanted to get rich and be famous. The White House is probably a step down.
110
Trump mentioned on Oprah decades ago that he was sick and tired of the way their grabbermint treats the public. It was high time.
60
ABC (plus CNN, et al) are missing the point.
The people have tired of the establishment and a press which supports that establishment.
The performance of CNN journos has been incredible. You would think that Donald had just raped their grandmothers.
Tomorrow we will get a blast about how Hillary won the popular vote.
This will come from the same press who, four years ago, forgot to mention that Romney had a significant lead over Obama in the popular vote.
60
I’m so tired of hearing that thing about narrative. It happened, grass roots or whatever, so get over it.
If Clinton had won that’s what I would be doing right now, not complaining but figuring out how to survive president Obama the 2nd.
70
Hi Jo
I was listening to ABC Perth’s coverage on the way home from work. They decided to let listeners call in and say how they felt about Trump. No doubt to the surprise of the ABC, every caller was overjoyed and congratulated the USA for having the courage to go against the expert recommendations. Ha!
They then decided to get back to safer ABC ground and interview a couple of American academics who are here working at some American studies institute. As you say Jo they were afraid of everything to come, climate/global warming etc. etc. etc. Then one of them, a long time diplomat and former Console General to Australia, said that she was afraid of what would happen to her kids health care when Obama care is gone! I almost drove off the road, I couldn’t believe it! How well off do you have to be before you no longer need government money to pay for your kids health care?
Why Trump they ask? That’s why, upper middle class elite parasites scamming the system to feather there own nests with other, less well off, peoples money. That’s why!
Congratulations USA, not sure what it all means but it will be fun to watch.
Thanks for showing us that the old dog named Democracy still has sharp teeth.
90
Don, I must have heard the last few minutes of that same radio program at about 5.30pm. They kept returning from phone calls to their annointed professor, who hadn’t predicted this, didn’t understand it, but was there as expert to say why all the callers were wrong about it being a grassroots victory.
70
It was OBVIOUSLY a grass Roots victory, since President Elect Trump didn’t have support of the Republican party. Many Republican leaders were against him, some very vocal, The Bush family, publicly said they would not vote for him.
100
I’m simultaneously enjoying and disgusted at the mounting levels of angst vitriol from Clinton supporters. My Clinton spruikers did not stay classy. Not at all. And the really bizarre thing is that most of them are not Americans and therefore have no skin in the game. I guess this is how people react when they’re mugged by reality.
70
Anybody else would have succumbed.
50
Joanne,
Even in Texas those older wise, yet of Spanish decent 52%, understand the problems of undocumented foreign invasion across the Mexican border. They wish the local undocumented be quickly trained by US military to defend the southern US border from further foreign invasion, or be terminated and returned in joyous body bags! Perhaps Mexico will pay for the wall, one way or another! -will-
10
That, “Trump Triumphs,” headline ought to read,
because he sure did.
60
And now I should make my apology for believing he couldn’t pull it off. But there was just too much against him. I’m still amazed at it. And there may yet be more difficulty because apparently states like Florida are so close that, like the George Bush election where Gore was so adamant that he should have won that he took the case to court, Clinton might pull a replay of that.
I hope not. We need to get on with cleaning up the people’s business, not indulging the loser’s bitterness.
90
I’m not sure Clinton would dare call for a recount. I don’t think she’d want anyone looking too closely at any votes.
20
Which is a shame. There appears to be a lot of fraud going on. Without it, the popular vote would not even have been close. Fortunately the democrats forgot how a president is elected, so most of it was in the states that Hillary would have won in any event.
10
Haven’t seen anything of Hitlery yet tonight. She seems to have snubbed her supporters in the end and slithered back in her corner to cry, leaving her campaign chair to address them instead.
Ouch.
It probably says much about the Left’s character, especially after watching the ashen faces all over the ABC, still reeling after investing so heavily in hubris and confirmation bias for so long.
I can see a studio at the ABC littered with streamers and party trash, a lone figure crying while slugging back a bottle of champers [snigger].. Sorry.. Can’t help it.

50
THANK YOU JO! From a Colonial who yearns for justice and the rule of law! Our last hope has been realized. If Trump only does 2 things, he will be a great president – prosecute Clinton and appoint good Supreme Court Justices!
But be forewarned as well. The “Establishment” in the US is not going quietly. The world is headed for a deep recession. The Central banks are going to pull the plug in 2 months. They cannot sustain it and now have the excuse.
61
It’s the recession that the world has needed to have since 2008. By delaying it with loose monetary policy like Quantitative Easing and zero or even negative interest rates, the central banks have ensured that the recession will be deeper and longer than it should have been. Plus China has joined the debt party so there is no one to bail out the financial system this time.
But you are correct in that Yellin will use Trump’s victory as an excuse to finally hike interest rates and then the other central banks will follow. Even Japan might finally face financial reality this time.
My hope if that Trump will make the US government transparent and accountable – that would be enough make the US recover from the past 3 decades of entrenched establishment rule.
91
You get no disagreement from me. I only hope it is not too late.

PhilJourdan November 9, 2016 at 11:12 pm
Phil,
You have been nasty for a long while! This is the first of anything interesting to others!
“But be forewarned as well. The “Establishment” in the US is not going quietly. The world is headed for a deep recession.”
Indeed! Not a good to be investing in ‘renewables’!
“The Central banks are going to pull the plug in 2 months. They cannot sustain it and now have the excuse.”
Indeed; and they will fail this time, big time! They tried that s**t last time! This time folk, small industry, and effort will sustain. Just what may mean deep recession, when all you have is ‘fiat money’ rather than several fat rabbits for trade?
I hab many fine honed pitchforks, several well oiled torches, and 416ea 30-06 160 grain rounds! Wad jew gots? -will-
10
Nasty? Perhaps you can explain that one.
But when I say “pull the plug” (I should have been more specific), I meant on the stock market. NOt on real assets. The stock market is way over extended due to the QE the Fed was pumping into it (it did nothing for the real economy as it produced no real wealth or goods). But the drying up of the stock market will make money harder to raise for real companies, which will slow down the economy (it is already slowed down), so expect a sharp decline. Also, retirees will suffer as most of their retirement is there.
The good news is that it will not destroy assets. So once the economy works through the cycle, it will be better than before and actually start growing.
Small business will suffer only in the respect that a lot of paper money will disappear, so there will be less to spend on Main Street. But the reason Wall Street backed Hillary so strongly is because they wanted the illusion to last.
Wall Street is not the backbone of the economy. Main Street is. And Trump won Main Street.

9 Nov: Breitbart: James Delingpole: Trump: The Left Just Lost The War On Climate Change
This guy – he works for Buzzfeed – has called it absolutely right. The liberal-left just lost the ‘battle’ against climate change.
Donald Trump isn’t just skeptical about global warming. He is what the alarmists would call a full-on climate change “denier”…
No world leader has ever been this outspoken on climate change. Among many average Joes and Jos they lost the war a long time ago. To the more scientific literate their mantra of the “science is settled” indicated that their case was really weak, and to the less scientifically interested the rabid embrace of lefty politicians to AGW alarmism and climate action confirmed that it was a scam.

9 Nov: Metro UK: Nigel Farage says he could be Donald Trump’s ambassador in the EU
by Richard Hartley-Parkinson
Nigel Farage has joked he could be Donald Trump’s man in Brussels if the Republican candidate wins the race to the White House.
The interim Ukip leader made the tongue-in-cheek suggestion after being asked if there was a role for the outspoken British politician in a Trump administration.
Appearing on LBC radio, Mr Farage said: ‘Is he going to offer me a job? I’m hoping he might do.
‘He will be in need of a proper eurosceptic ambassador in Brussels for the European Union. I would rather like that job.’…
He added, acknowledging the convention that ambassadors are representatives of their own country: ‘Being a foreigner will not disqualify me. As long as we can bring the EU down, it doesn’t matter how we do it.’…
***‘If you see any others (Republicans) here tonight please introduce me, I’d love to meet them.’ – Malise Sundstrom, chairwoman of Republicans Overseas, on the apparent lack of fellow Trump supporters at the US embassy in London…

apparently Farage is heading for New York on the weekend, & hopes to see Trump.
am not even linking to that info, as MSM is taking the Farage wants Ambassador job rather too seriously, with some suggesting he would even take up American citizenship.
as with Trump, I have a feeling the media choose not to appreciate the humourous side of these two men!

having Irish ancestry, perhaps i should sympathise, but i can’t stop laughing:
9 Nov: CNBC: Anmar Frangoul: After paying out early on a Clinton win, Trump victory costs Irish bookmaker $5 million
An Irish bookmaker was left red faced on Wednesday morning after its decision to pay out early to customers who had bet on a Hillary Clinton victory in the U.S. election proved costly.
In October, Paddy Power paid out £800,000 ($992,528) on a Clinton victory after a series of negative news stories threatened to derail Donald Trump’s campaign.
“We’re in the business of making predictions and decided to put our neck on the line by paying out early on Hillary Clinton, but boy did we get it wrong,” Paddy Power spokesperson Lewis Davey said in a statement Wednesday…
The bookmaker added that it had been hit for more than £4 million ($4.96 million) by punters who’d backed Donald Trump to win.
“We’ve been well and truly thumped by Trump, with his victory leaving us with the biggest political pay-out in the company’s history and some very, very expensive egg on our faces,” Davey added.
Undeterred by what many are regarding as a shock result, Paddy Power has started to take bets on a host of “Trump specials”.
The bookmaker has priced him at 4/1 to be re-elected come 2020, 20/1 to build a wall spanning “the entirety” of the U.S.-Mexican border, and evens to make Russia his first international visit.

note ***Marc Lasry, who featured in a Wikileaks/Clinton story this week (see second link).
sounds like he might have lost big while a pro-Trump, Breitbart-connected investor cleaned up! lol.
9 Nov: CNBC: Reuters: Wall Street elite stunned at Trump triumph
Many were stuck for words.
“Not really much to say,” said ***Marc Lasry, a billionaire credit investor…
For Trump supporters who work on Wall Street, his victory is a vindication.
“I’m very happy,” said Matthew Tyrmand, a private investor and contributor to the Breitbart News website, who was attending a Young Republicans party at a bar off Madison Avenue.
Tyrmand, who had shorted stocks ahead of the election — a bet that stock prices will fall — said he had been called “delusional” for predicting a Trump win.
Tyrmand said Trump would be good news for markets because he understands the benefit of letting businesses fail. He predicted equity markets would go through a prolonged correction before recovering.
“We will be healthier long term,” he said…
Around Tyrmand, other Trump supporters hugged one another, sang “God Bless America,” clinked glasses and called out “M-A-G-A!” — the acronym for Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”…

6 Nov: Politico: Kenneth P. Vogel/Hadas Gold: Clinton donor allegedly killed National Enquirer stories
A memo from the WikiLeaks trove claims Marc Lasry used his financial ties to the tabloid to help kill Clinton stories.
The donor, hedge fund billionaire ***Marc Lasry, “has been helpful on a number of fronts,” according to the memo, which was written by longtime Clinton aide Doug Band in Nov. 2011, including “killing potential unfavorable stories in the Enquirer.”
At the time the memo was written, Lasry’s hedge fund, Avenue Capital Group, owned some of the $513 million in debt accrued by the Enquirer’s publisher, American Media, Inc., and Band’s memo asserts Avenue “owns a controlling share of the debt.”
Neither Band nor Lasry responded to requests for comment on Sunday, but representatives for Lasry’s firm and the National Enquirer denied the claim in the memo…
Other favors done by Lasry for the Clintons, according to Band’s memo, include raising and donating huge sums of cash for the Clinton Foundation, lending his plane to the family and employing Chelsea Clinton at Avenue Capital.
Band for years worked closely with Bill Clinton on the former president’s business ventures and on the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Global Initiative, and he also worked as a paid advisor to Avenue Capital.
In the memo, he takes credit for introducing the Clintons to Lasry and for helping Chelsea Clinton land a job at Lasry’s hedge fund as a chemical industry analyst…
In a previously unpublished portion of the memo, Band cited Lasry’s overlapping involvement with the Clintons’ foundation and the family’s personal finances to highlight the difficulty in disentangling the various phases of what Band derisively called “Bill Clinton, Inc.”…
“Mr. Lasry is a good example of the complex relationships a friend/supporter can have within the Foundation,” Band wrote in the memo, crediting Lasry with personally donating $142,500 to the Clinton Foundation and committing $2 million more, while raising “several hundred thousand dollars” from others in “two Foundation fundraisers at his home.”
Band also indicates that Lasry helped Marc Mezvinsky – Chelsea Clinton’s husband — in raising money for Mezvinksy’s hedge fund…

This comment might be a duplication of a comment I tried to submit earlier but for some reason didn’t go through.
What a glorious day.
I’m thinking of starting a “Resume Service” for all Americans who are unemployed as a result of democrat policies. I’ll focus on five areas: Actors, Movers, Pollsters, Bail Bondsmen, and Out-Of-Work-Global-Warming-Freeloaders. With half of Hollywood pulling up stakes and leaving the country, thousands of acting jobs are opening up; and hauling all that furniture is going to require beaucoup trucks. As far as I know, not a single pollster got the election right–in part because they’re more interested in influencing the population than sampling it. Unless Obama pardons the entire democrat party, a whole lot of money is going to be needed to meet bail demands. The toughest resume of them all will be trying to make a bunch of CAGW no-account freeloaders look like they’re worth anything. To keep those free loaders occupied as they look for new jobs, I’ll send them a piece of paper with the same words on both sides: “How do you keep a global warming freeloader busy all day? See other side.”
Oh, I almost forgot–the position of FBI director will soon be open.

It might be a good time to invest in “Orange”jump suites.

And the ink isn’t even dry on Trump’s victory but the opposition is beginning anyway with such things like these that I’ve already seen on my monitor screen and heard on TV.
1. One gay woman very publicly saying, “Now I’m afraid.”
2. Illegals, “We vow to defy Trump.”
3. And on TV just moments ago, Hillary saying, “To Barack and Michelle Obama, we owe you a debt of gratitude for all you have done.” And I ask, gratitude for what?
I can’t imagine it ever ending.

1. Apparently she is afraid of a few bad words more than she is afraid of getting beheaded.
2. They can vow all they want – from their home country
3. For not indicting her before the election.

Not quite. There was a shooting at or near one los Angeles area polling place that left 1 dead and 3 injured. There’s quite a difference between how these two reports try to, or not to, link the shooting to the election. And with the shooter apparently dead the motive may never be known but at least one of the victims was on his way to vote.

I remember when Obama first won election in 2008. Before it was decided, he always had a big, toothy grin on his face. After he won, the grin went away.
I always thought that was because he expected to continue playing his distractive role of “community organizer” and nipping at the heels of the party in power.
But when he won, it was like watching what might happen if a dog finally caught a car.
Hillary has officially conceded. I figure her people and Obama’s are happy to play the role of spoiler to the other side. It’s what they do. Those people are not happy unless they’re poking holes in someone else’s balloons or raining on someone else’s parade. They don’t build stuff that anyone can choose to chip in and use/contribute to, or choose to avoid. They only build stuff that can be used to coerce everyone else to pay their bills and dance to their tune. They tear down other people’s security whenever possible. People who have no security are easier targets for their dirty little deals.
80
You made an important point. If you recall, most of the time Bill was campaigning, he was campaigning AGAINST Obama. They do not know how to rule, just to snipe.

Deplorable me:
Still some preliminary data, (two states yet to call), but a bit of analysis on the state-by-state numbers:
Note: I am leaving the uncalled states in the category of who is leading at the time of this post, AND, I am omitting D.C. (which was 93% Clinton, and always votes in extreme percentages for the Democrat, regardless of who it is)
HRC won twenty states; minimum winning percentage: 47;
maximum winning percentage: 62;
mode of winning percentage: 48 and 61
Sidebar for the Michigan vote: the “Green Party” candidate Jill Stein siphoned off enough votes from HRC to throw Michigan [preliminary] to Trump. We should all thank Jill if Trump does, in fact, get Michigan’s Electoral College votes.
DJT won thirty states; minimum winning percentage: 46;
maximum winning percentage: 70 (WOO – HOO!!!!! My state: WYOMING!!!!!!!!! GO POKES!!!!!!!!)
mode of winning percentage: 57
Sidebar for Trump’s minimum winning percentage: the state he won at 46 was Utah (my ‘home’ state, though I live in Wyoming now), due to the presence of the candidate Evan McMullin, who took 21% of the vote, and HRC took 28%.
Number of states that HRC took with less than 50% was six; number of states that DJT took with less than 50% was five, if Michigan stays where the preliminary data says Trump is leading. Also, that one state, Utah, was under 50% due to the independent candidate; it is possible, but not certain, that if that candidate (McMullin) had not been present, Trump would have been over 50%.
Maine is one of the states that has ‘split’ Electoral College vote, and so three went to HRC, and one went to DJT, though he technically ‘lost’ the state.
About a week ago, I opined that Trump might take 40 states (yes, wishful thinking), so I am pleased with the result of 30 Trump states (still based on preliminary data).
One deplorable’s opinion.
Regards to all, and thanks to Jo for all the US election coverage and forums,
Vlad

9 Nov: AFP: Marlowe Hood: UN Climate Talks to Trump: Don’t Get Left Behind
Marrakesh (Morocco) (AFP) – Stunned but defiant participants at UN climate talks in Marrakesh said Wednesday that climate change denier Donald Trump can’t derail the global shift to clean energy, and that the United States would get left behind if he tried.
The US president-elect “cannot prevent the implementation” of the landmark Paris pact, inked in the French capital last December, said Segolene Royal, France’s environment minister and outgoing head of the UN climate forum.
“As I speak, 103 countries representing 70 percent of (greenhouse gas) emissions have ratified it, and he cannot — contrary to his assertions — undo the Paris Agreement,” she told French radio station RTL…
UN chief Ban Ki-moon congratulated Trump on his victory and said people everywhere looked to the United States to work for the common good.
“Today’s global challenges demand concerted global action and joint solutions,” he told journalists at the UN headquarters in New York.
Leaders and diplomats INVESTED in decarbonising the global economy predicted the gathering momentum of that transition — and the rising danger of global warming — would carry the United States with it, regardless of Trump’s views…
Business leaders advanced a similar argument.
“He wants to make America great again,” said We Mean Business, a coalition of several thousand companies and investors.
“Climate action provides the basis for new jobs and enhanced competitiveness in the industries of tomorrow,” it said in a statement, noting that the sector employs 2.5 million in the US.
Trump has vowed to “bring back coal” and peel back greenhouse gas reduction emissions measures put in place by Barack Obama, saying they choke business growth.
France’s top climate negotiator Laurence Tubiana said this “would be a disaster for the US economy.”
“If the US wants to go back to coal production, to 19th century industry, fine, but I don’t see the future for US industry in this.”
“Ask Google, Microsoft, Apple, Walmart – even General Motors. I don’t think they agree.”…
Veteran climate analysts said a Trump White House would pay a heavy price if they simply abandoned the UN talks, today tasked with implementing last year’s historic pact.
“If the US pulls out and is seen as going as a rogue nation on climate change, that will have implications for everything else on President Trump’s agenda when he want to deal with foreign leaders,” said Alden Meyer of the Union of Concerned Scientists, a Washington-based thinktank…
Climate scientists who inform political decisions also expressed alarm, with one noting that Trump’s campaign rhetoric on global warming had “strolled into a fact-free zone.”
“It is now to be seen how the disinformation and climate change denialism will pan out in actual decisions, actions and appointments,” said Joeri Rogelj, a scientist and modeller at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, in Laxenburg, Austria.

9 Nov: NY Post: Keith J. Kelly: National recall after Newsweek misfires with Clinton cover
A national recall went out Wednesday for the special “Madame President” issue of Newsweek that was prematurely shipped to stores and newsstands across the country.
At the same time, the publisher of the magazine will rush the “President Trump” version of the commemorative issue to press on Thursday — so it will get to stores next week.
???“Like everybody else, we got it wrong,” said Tony Romando, CEO of Topix Media, the Newsweek partner which produces special issues under the popular brand…
The magazine hit stores Tuesday. While retailers were told not to put issues on sale prior to the election, a handful did.
Romando claims only 17 Clinton magazines were sold — out of 125,000 printed and shipped…
“All wholesalers and retailers have been asked to return any issues they have as we need to clear room for [150,000 copies of] the President Trump issue,” Romando said. “We expect it to sell very well as there is obviously a great demand.”
The Barnes & Noble on Union Square that was selling “Madam President” issues Tuesday had none on their shelves Wednesday, according to a clerk in the magazine section, who told The Post he didn’t know if they sold out or were pulled.
Romando said he plans to print more copies of the Trump version because the upset victory would lead to bigger sales…

So much for the doom and gloom merchants. From The Australian this morning.
“Investors embraced the election of Donald Trump as president, snapping up stocks and selling bonds in a bet that the Republican’s plans for fiscal stimulus would succeed in breaking the US out of a post crisis economic funk.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its second large gain this week, rising 257 to 18590, led by a rally in financial and health-care firms.
In Europe, stocks bounced back from early losses as Mr Trump’s conciliatory victory speech calmed jangled nerves.”

If I’d had the money, I would have done some investing yesterday. Bet there are a few that made a bundle. Stocks usually slump during an election due to uncertainty then bounce back.

By your own hand you have just told all of us here that you can predict the climate Data and therefore the climate future for at least some months ahead.
And you didn’t even need to supply a link to the Data which you are, with your Nostradamus like abilities, apparently fully cognisant with but which is still a physical impossibility for us mere mortals as the Data you tell us to check out still lays in the future for us real world dwelling skeptics.
Why we need to ask, do we need Climate Science, hundreds of climate modellers, a hundred billion dollars being spent each year on climate alarmism and climate science when all we and the governments of the world have to do is ask Harry Twinotter what the yet to be collected DATA says the global climate will be doing in the months and possibly years ahead.

Ignoring your personal rhetoric which I have no time for as it is unscientific. If you want to provide citations for the figures you pluck out of your bottom, be my guest – I am not going to look up your figures for you.
Don’t take my word for it, look at the charts. Only 3 months of reporting left for 2016. Unless there is one heck of a global cold snap, 2016 is going to be either record warm or a statistical tie with 2015. No predictions required, just simple adding up.
11
SO WHAT !!
That warming is nothing but beneficial, just like the CO2 release from the ocean, that follows that warming.
Don’t PANIC Harry,
China, India, and many, many other countries.. and now the USA will be continuing to PROSPER by using COAL and other FOSSIL FUELS.
Raised levels of atmospheric CO2 will be around for many, many years to come, benefiting ALL life on this wonderful vibrant planet.
And guess what.. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you or any of the AGW scammers can do about it. 🙂 🙂
12
ps.. You do know what an El Nino event is, don’t you?
… or doesn’t your base level knowledge take you that far.
12
“which I have no time for as it is unscientific”
You never seem to have any time for anything scientific.. that is for sure.
Empty yet again… poor Harry.

Poor Harry.
Don’t be so sad.

01
Poor Harry does not know what an El Nino is or does.
Look at the world oceans now, Twatter..
The last of the heat released by the NA Blob and the El Nino is gradually disappearing from the Arctic.
And there is no other heat from anywhere to replace it.

Where is Proff Gillian Triggs, our Climate Nazi Commissar and her sidekick Tim Soup-label when we need both of them to reign in all those anti-white, middle class hating and despicably racist and blatantly condescending media personnel’s commentary about a whole class of millions of American [ and Australian ] white skinned people.
71
Let’s not beat about the bush!
Commandant Trigg’s needs the sack, and that’s putting it kindly.
And that overpaid so called Human Right’s Commission(department of Marxism),need to be abolished, not more BS meetings.
No more being told what to do,think, and say, especially by an unelected Commissar ratbag.
Trigg’s should seek UN appointment with the other overpaid, useless, hositle oxygen thieves and wastes of space!
41
Yep, there’s nothing wrong with Human Rights Commission per se.
The problem is that it’s used as to establish a beach head from which to launch any number of supposedly Social Justice agenda items.
It epitomises regulatory capture.
Why we need a duplicate of a UN body escapes me. Or rather, it doesn’t escape me . . . it can be used /exploited within Oz borders both framing and adjudicating Oz laws.
20
Correction!
Where is Proff Gillian Triggs, our
Climatesection 18C Commissar Enforcer and Executioner and her sidekick Tim Soup-label when we need both of them to reign in all those anti-white, middle class hating and despicably racist and blatantly condescending media personnel’s commentary about a whole class of millions of American [ and Australian ] white skinned people.81
Jo, I have not commented on this issue (I was stuck to my iPad all day following the votes as they came in) but thank you so much for following this election and allowing us all to follow it with you and our fellow commentators. I am sure we all look forward to Trump’s first actions to restrict America’s involvement in the Climatr Change boondoggle.
121
Its also worth mentioning that Jo deserves congratulations for picking and supporting Brexit and Trump against all the odds. Political forecasting is incredibly complicated and requires intuitive intellect, the editor has the runs on the board.
81
Message to the Alternative media: globalresearch and others. STOP thinking ‘climate change is real’ YOU have been duped! We KNOW that the scam has been setup by the same globalists you despise..look at the real world.
81
They believed their own fabrications. They had seven years to correct the fraudulent science that surfaced in Climategate emails in Nov 2009.
They refused to do so and the issue was finally resolved by Trump’s election in Nov 2016.
Thanks, AGW believers for shooting yourselves in the foot!
11
Jo,
I was feeling fairly down about our election here in the US.
Your articles last week actually helped lift my spirits.
My prayer to Gaia was answered.
Thanks from the up side of the world.

Poor Lady Gaga has gone gaga.
40
Don’t gag at the thought that Lady Gaga has gone gaga, or gaia.
20
It’s after to 5:00 PM now and the sun has set on the first day after the election of the century if not the entire history of the United States and I keep wishing it was already January 20, Inauguration Day next year so I could know that the Obamas are finally gone from the White House, the people’s house, forever. And I’m reminding myself that this was an election against something a lot more than it was an election for something. I think that when the history books have it all sorted out they will say, America, you had a close call and from that point you must not only undo so many things Obama and his supporters did but if you’re smart, a lot of things going back a long way before Obama. I wonder what they will say about what we did following this day. The job looks formidable and I hope that not only is Donald Trump up to the task but so are the rest of us.
The opposition will not go away, nor will it be silent. Both Obama and Clinton will still be there along with all their supporters and enablers. We have decided what we’re against and now we must find out what we are for once again. Pray that we get it right so that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not vanish from this Earth.
I keep hoping my grandson, not yet 2 years old, along with millions like him will recognize and remember what happened on November 8, 2016.
81
Let’s hope and pray there is a smooth transition in government in the spirit as well as the law of your Constitution. I agree it was a close call – you were at the brink and the people saw through the nonsense especially from the mainstream media and Hollywood activists. Well done.
30
The mainstream polls got it wrong because they oversampled Democrats , they looked at the turnout percentage between Dems and Reps in the 2008 and 2012 Obama wins , the primary elections for this time around proved that logic to be false , Clinton won against Sanders in states with less support than she got when losing to Obama in 2008 , meanwhile Trump broke voting records in the Republican primaries the pollsters did not take that into consideration , why I don’t know but it was a major fail
30
dd,
I actually believe the polls didn’t ‘get it wrong’, but as in so many media driven matters these days the polls pandered to the agenda driven requirements of main stream media paying the for the polls – just like before the GFC when the banks paid for AAA ratings on risky mortgage bundles – the ratings agencies either rated AAA or didn’t get the biz. Same thing here – so the pollsters either showed Clinton winning or they didn’t get the biz, then the media probably hoped that publicising those favourable polls would encourage voters to support Clinton – like some sort of self fulfilling prophesy. The MSM were in the hate frenzy Orwell wrote about in ‘1984’ when he described the ‘two minutes of hate’ each day – just substitute MSM daily breaking news headlines for the ‘two minutes of hate’, and substitute Trump for ‘Emanuel Goldstein’.
80
I had a similar thought. I also think the many of the people who were polled lied due to peer pressure and the like. Similar to the 1984 environment you described where the crowd are pressured to comply against their will. In the American case it was brought about psychologically using mainstream media. But when the people voted I bet a lot of them decided to switch their thoughts and vote accordingly. We will probably never know the truth about all this but I also would not rule out some deliberate acts to distort the polls. In any case the power of mass media is always underestimated. Look at Hitler’s Germany to figure that out. Unfortunately for the Germans at the time there was no internet. I feel this time the internet also helped a lot to deflect the sledge hammer of the mainstream media.
40
Peter,
See I disagree with that line of reasoning about ‘people polled lied’ because the polls were targeted to a specific demographic, one sympathetic to Clinton for the purpose of continued sales of the product. They have to stick to the lie now that ‘their polls were fooled by cunning Trump voters’ because the truth would derail the entire political polling industry.
20
Jim the agency that did the CNN polls , commissioned sub contractors from the Clinton foundation ;}
50
Bingo.

Looks like the criminal banksters Goldman and Sachs of Carbon credits have failed to install their CAGW advocate ‘the Hitlery’, in spite of their payoffs!
As they have done with that CAGW Marxist Trudeau of Canada and here with CAGW BSer ‘the TurdFull’ in Australia.
I also have heard of a rush meeting between ‘Carbon Pollution Bill,Shorten on the Truth’ and the said ‘TurdFull’ following the Donald’s Presidency(elect).
I wonder what that conversation might be about?
Could it possibly be of concern of how Trump may represent a threat to our pathetic leaders’ renewable energy racketeering interests?
I bet John(loser of the unlosable election)Hewson would not at all be happy with the Donald’s rise to the White House with his views on the CAGW BS and associated renewable rackets!
Especially so with the well timed appearance of Tony Heller,Tim Ball, and One Nation Senator Malcom Roberts recent debunking of the CAGW faith!
We need to vote out all Global Warmer Advocates without exception from all parties.
CAGW clowns like Hunt,UN appeaser Bishop(the loyal deputy),sellout for a better job Frydenburg, and of course ‘the TurdFull’ all need to go!
We need a Trump here to clean out all these corrupt imbeciles that under the pretense of serving who voted for them, just fill their own pockets up,feather their own nests, and preach unwanted and unwarranted ratbag agenda to the rest of us.
Where is our Trump?
72
How about an Abbot, Latham Cory B joint ticket?
40
Good choices, but Abbott needs to get some of his fire back and not be a punching bag for the leftoid vermin.
Someone that is completely uncompromising like Malcom Roberts, and will not follow some BS party line or say what they think they need to,to win votes.
Definitely no ‘turn the other cheekers’ to the likes of the mongrel presstitutes, and ferals like ‘get up’.
We need warriors true leaders, not appeasers. That why the Donald won against all odds.
He’s a winner,a builder,an achiever.
He has come from nowhere almost on his own money and taken out the most sought after political position on the planet.
A success story, if ever there was one, and yet jealous morons and CAGW true b’lvers call him a baffoon and worse. No doubt, all non achievers in comparison.
If he does just some of what he says, he will become the people’s champion.
That’s what we need here, not Zero charisma BS Bill or our present sad excuse for a leader, the waffling wanker of Wentworth PM TurdFull.
01
By signing the Climate Treaty, the imbecilic trio have effectively caused the total demise of the Liberal Party.
They will be lucky to hold a minor party status after the last election.
There is basically no-one left that will vote for them.
11
The next Liberal Party convention will be in a phone booth.
20
Not sure what is happening with the Greens in Australia , but in NZ they are obviously fuming !!! Not alot been said publicaly but what has gives it away. From James Shaw co-leader of the NZ Greens when giving comments about Trumps success. (All other party leaders gave a diplomatic or congratulatory comment.)
“I couldn’t think of a worse President.”
Shaw says Trump has “demonstrated he’s a pathological liar so regardless of what he said during the election campaign we don’t know what he’ll do”.
30
The pathological liars are predominantly the greens .
In fact its even worse than that in that they seem to believe their own BS.
Definitely they are among the most mentally ill, promoters of economic destruction and Malthusian madness, as handed down to them by totalitarian founder of the CAGW doctrine, the late most despicable Maurice Strong.
Not to mention also funded locally by the CMFEU criminal union!
Where is our Trump to clean out these and other political ratbags?
40
The Greens should rename their party “The Mental Pigmys”
40
When compared to the lying prowess of Hillary Clinton, it takes a level of idiocy almost beyond comprehension to denigrate Donald Trump by saying “[Trump has] demonstrated he’s a pathological liar…”.

It’s not really Clint Eastwood behind the Twitter account despite it having being “verified” by Twitter.

Despite Trump’s victory yesterday and Trump’s well-aired view on the Paris Agreement, Malcolm Turnbull keeps supporting the mantra of the faith of Climate Scientology
Australia Signs Paris Agreement
71
He is so out of touch with reality he doesn’t even realise what he is doing. He might as well sign an agreement to move the earth away from he Sun by the required amount to compensate for any warming that might eventuate over the next 100 years. He is full of pure BS. He must go.
71
Now why would he do this on the day of the biggest news story in a couple decades?
It’s a mystery.
40
Good question. All I can thing of is he is still trying to peddle the global warming lie, much like the last days of Hitler’s regime where some of the Generals were still carrying on with their tactics while the allies were approaching Germany. Just delusional. He must go.
41
Rhetorical question Peter. It’s a classic tactic for when you don’t want an announcement to be noticed.
In this case he’s protected himself from the Abbott wing of the Libs and from the media, who lately have turned against him. He’s also got it in before Trump’s climate policy gets going, which would lead to lots of questions about ‘the alliance’ and ‘working relationships’ and the usual stuff the ABC lies to beat on Lib PMs with.
I just hope PHON’s poll numbers go through the roof and cause Turnbull to be spilled before he does any more damage to Oz.
60
Malcolm has swallowed the gorebull worming mantra and he’s in for a big shock.
What will the PM do when the US administration pulls out of the Paris Agreement and the TPP?
51
He hoped you wouldn’t notice?
40
… why would he do this …
No biggie, not complicated. Trump has declared war on CAGW advocates, activists and renewabubbles.
This is cyanide to Waffle’s meeja cheer squad (ABC, Fauxfacts, The Aus, Sky et al) so Waffle is pre-emptively striking to retain support before these d!lls start publishing pointed questions about the strength of his faith. And before Abbott publicly praises Trump for shaping up to the greenies.
He really is terrified of negative publicity from the meeja leftoids.
31
This from Eric Worrall at WUWT.
‘Many years ago, Lord Monckton predicted America would be the nation to lead the world to freedom from the anti-humanist greed of the green movement. Lord Monckton’s prediction has now come to pass.
‘In my native Australia, in Europe, across the world, in the bleak halls of the United Nations, the climate elite were gathering for one final great push to claim the future. Their plans are now in ruins.’
31
And there it is:

Aus Govt ratifies Paris agreement. The ABC still luurves him.

Turnbull is a joke. I ignore him.
meanwhile, add this NBA coach to a growing list of sporting “personalities” who seem as intent as MSM/Hollywood types on the self-destruction of their industries:
9 Nov: BusinessInsider: Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy blasts Donald Trump as ‘brazenly racist’ and ‘misogynistic,’ says he’s ‘ashamed’ of people who voted for him
by Scott Davis
Detroit Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy blasted US President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday in a nearly six-minute rant.
Speaking to media before the Pistons’ Wednesday night game against the Phoenix Suns, Van Gundy said he was stunned and “ashamed” of the US for electing Trump.
“I don’t think anybody can deny this guy is openly and brazenly racist and misogynistic and ethnic-centric,” Van Gundy said. “We have just thrown a good part of our population under the bus, and I have problems with thinking that this is where we are as a country.”
Van Gundy said the team was quiet on Wednesday and he believed it was because of a 32-point loss on Monday night. However, he added that center Aron Baynes told him it was because of the election results.
Van Gundy then delivered a ruthless rant, slamming Trump and people who voted for him (via Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press)…
***”I don’t know even know if I have political differences with him. I don’t even know what are his politics.”…
Trump won Michigan, but Van Gundy said he was proud of Oakland County, Michigan, where he lives, for voting for Clinton…
Van Gundy is not the first, and he certainly will not be the last, professional sports figure to come out against Trump. However, you may be hard pressed to find someone deliver a rant ***as emotionally charged and upfront*** as Van Gundy.
You can read a transcript of his comments here (LINK)

***as ignorant and insane*** as Van Gundy.
proud of the vote for Clinton? unbelievable.
meanwhile, over at FiveThirtyEight, “poll guru” Nate Silver, is busy rationalising being sooooooo wrong, like virtually all the faux pollsters because, if just 1 out of every 100 voters shifted from Trump to Clinton (presumably in just the right States – tho Nate doesn’t mention that), she would have 307 electoral college votes, & would have won the popular vote by precisely the amount the pollsters predicted, & be headed for the White House, instead of the man who “undermines political norms and violates standards of decency”, President-Elect Donald J. Trump.
it’s a mad, mad, mad world.
40
All these coaches and Hollywood “personalities” literally dripping with political correctness in public, but I bet they leer and elbow-jab endlessly at clubs and games when they’re with their mates.
How could they not know what Trump’s policies are? They’re available for all to see. Head in the sand and hating for the sake of it, agreement with their Leftist allies no matter how silly they look to the rest of the planet. Let them cry in their Gatorade.

The bookies took a hammering. Paddy Power ( to their credit) admit they lost US$992,000 on paying out early, bets on Clinton winning and a further US$4.96 million on bets that Trump would win.

It was a beautiful thing to watch…. The wailing of the leftists next day…. Sublime.

Look at this.
2008 Obama won 322-206 and 55% of eligible voters actually voted.
2012 Obama won 365-173 and 58% of eligible voters actually voted.
2016 Trump won 306-232 and 57% of eligible voters actually voted.
This was not really close at all. Hillary was behind on the popular vote until California came into play, and they gave her California after around 5% of the vote was counted. Population California 39 Million. People who actually voted in California was 8.5 Million. Hillary got 62% of the vote compared to 33% for Trump, her largest (major State) percentage win. A couple of small States were around 60% and DC was 93% to 4%. She got 2.4 Million more votes in California that Trump, and only won the popular vote by 200,000 votes.
Only a 57% turnout on the whole of Country basis.
Apathy reigns supreme.
Makes you think why they are so scared to put SSM to a popular vote here in Australia, where we have compulsory voting.
Tony.

Here is an interesting hypothetical comparison, which says on the numbers Trump would have beaten Obama in 2012

I know that by now word of all the demonstrations against Trump must have gone clear around the world several times over. So I have a question for these nitwits…
Who demonstrated when you elected Barack Obama, a man who scared all the productive men and women who were doing the work that keeps the lights on and the food in the grocery store? A man who cost every responsible citizen a lot of money. Who demonstrated against him?
Got no answer? I thought so.
50
My lovely ex, recommended that I chill out and watch what happens! OTOH ‘Want to go somewhere and mess around a bit?’ really helps!!
11
Will,
My impulse is to go out and slam heads together. Under these lamentable circumstances (an understatement if there ever was one) that’s very appealing. But the real job is to put enough police on the streets and then force them to obey such laws as those that prohibit obstruction of traffic, violation of laws defining the requirements for a large assembly of people on public property and no doubt others. And if they will not disperse and go home round them up and lock them up until a judge can deal with their case. But we have never had the will to be free of this kid of intimidation so we can’t even begin to to the job we should do, right now, today.
My reading of the constitution regarding freedom of speech and assembly is a simple one based on the plain old ordinary meaning of the words speech and assembly — speech means the spoken or written word, not freedom of action. Freedom to peaceably assemble is a part of this but again, it does not stretch to blocking traffic, burning flags, trash or effigies of President Trump in places where burning something would not otherwise be permitted for safety reasons.
These are the rules by which a nation was put together that has offered unprecedented freedom and it is not too much to ask that these knuckleheads observe those same rules that I and a few million others observed when Barack Obama was elected, when he out and out lied to me over and over, when he cost me several thousand dollars a year by messing around with my employer’s medical insurance benefit, put me in debt way above my head, regulated the business that I worked for until the cost of managing that business had at least doubled because of regulatory compliance and did a lot of other things that have compromised both my immediate and long term safety and the safety of his own country, the one he was supposed to be looking out for, not trying to submarine at every step.
So I understand what you said a whole lot more than you know. I have no use for protesters at any time. They simply intend to get their way by bullying and obstructing the right of all of us to go about our daily routine free of their interference. I have even less tolerance for these protesters now because the kind of government they obviously prefer, that of Obama and Clinton, is the reason the voters went for Trump.
Let them now be silent and learn from the experience. Let them wait and find out what President Trump actually does before they open their mouths in complaint.
If Trump could have said the necessary things, spoken about the problems he sees only too well and avoided making a fool of himself in the process I would have been for him all along or at least not against him. Now that he is President Elect, I’m behind him 100% and against these protesters with the same 100% dedication to purpose.
20
And by the way, has anyone noticed that all these protests suddenly materialized simultaneously? The protests must have been put together in advance of the election in case Trump won. It would be impossible for this to be a coincidence the way it’s unfolding.
41
Some localities are doing just that. Locking them up. I know ours is one of them. We may be blue, but we are not snowflake blue. I only wonder if Soros pays for their bail.
But I disagree on the Freedom of Speech. It does include actions, until it infringes upon others, then it is not. Rights make no imposition on anyone else. That is why Health care is not a right. But speech is, until they obstruct or destroy.
Ironic that those participating (at least here) are the same as those demanding safe spaces. They are not going to find any safe spaces here.
10
Phil,
No offense intended but what in the definition of speech indicates that it includes action? I can see action in the preparation and distribution of printed material and even in the giving of a speech. I can even agree that art is, in its way a form of speech in that it can communicate ideas. But I cannot see actions such as marching in violation of laws, burning of flags and a host of other things as being speech under the longstanding definition of speech.
Merriam-Webster is as good a dictionary as you can find anywhere and in any English class I ever went through the dictionary was the authority on what a word meant. And I cannot see the Supreme Court taking the place of the dictionary in order to add to the meaning of a word that has had the same meaning since the dawn of the English language.
Protests in words are protected speech within the meaning of the First Amendment, even wen done in public as long as no law is broken. Protest in the form of action can in no legitimate way be claimed to be protected by the Constitution except that the Supreme Court went out of its way to make it that way. You carry on a protest action within the existing laws of the local, sate and federal jurisdictions or you get ordered to disperse and if you don’t you get arrested.
I cannot escape this conclusion.
This is already an old thread but if you see this I’d be interested to see your reasoning.
00
Well, #136 was in reply to #135.1.1.2 but in the middle of it my computer or the browser hiccupped and I was lucky to recover it. So now it’s #136.
Computers are in league with… …I’ll let you guess rather than saying it. 🙁
00
Yea, got that disconnect of the response.
However, Merriam Webster (or Oxford or Funk and Wagnalls) is not the dictionaries used by SCOTUS when they ruled that speech does indeed cover actions. Not all actions of course. But a demonstration (versus a riot) is protected under both assembly and speech. Frankly, I do not care if they march around and yell their slogans. It is better than shooting up disco clubs.
I have a problem when they infringe on other’s rights. So when they stop traffic, they are infringing on other people’s rights and are no longer practicing their rights.
00
