” involving one of the most critical public policy issues of the day.”

Indeed it is, the climate change scam that was manufactured to destroy and change the industrial system and impose an unelected world government is the most critical issue facing mankind today. Democracy is under threat as never before.

Mass delusion is a serious matter to be rectified and I’m confident Tony Abbott is the man who can turn our political world upside down.

He already has by leading the Coalition to defeat Gillard Labor in 2010 forcing them into an alliance with outsiders minority government after the Rudd Labor significant victory in 2007.

And then in 2013 defeating Rudd Labor in a landslide victory for the Coalition.

However, after convincing Liberal MPs that Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson was not performing well and that they needed to replace their leader with himself in 2008 Turnbull soon realised that his lack of leadership was worrying Liberal MPs and at least some were considering drafting Abbott to be the leader. From 2009 the relentless negativity aimed at Abbott MP commenced with the Turnbull Black Hand faction even recruiting Labor’s GetUp to assist them.

In my opinion the disunity created by the Turnbull side had handicapped the Coalition from 2009 and continues to the present day. And the PM is continuing to be a poor leader and lacks judgement.

With one of the worst Opposition Leaders and members ever, arguably worse than Rudd and Gillard terms, there needs to be changes in government team.

While I totally agree with his position on the global warming scam unfortunately Tony Abbott is about the most incompetent galoot around to actually make the case.

As far as I can see he has not improved his game since his Sir Prince Phillip brain fart and all he seems to do these days is create own goals. Shorten’s ‘captains call’ on company tax is sophisticated compared to Abbott’s idiotic comments on any manner of matters.

His attack propaganda approach to public discourse and continued backstabbing of his own side with a one seat lower house majority just hands tactical advantage to the Labor-Green axis and actually encourages them to be obstructionist. His style worked very well against a pair of idiotic sitting ducks like KRudd and Dillard and while sniping from opposition but being in Government soon saw him shown as out of his depth. Even worse his advent gave conservative cretins like Abetz and Bernardi some sense that they were on team messiah and were the font of all political wisdom in the Federal coalition.

Abbott was at best the Chauncey Gardner of his time and his time has passed.

In 12 months the Abbott government stopped the Labor caused restart on the boats, settled the Labor induced tragedy of stopping cattle supply (protein) to Indonesia, was the first PM to call out Putin on Malaysian airliner shot down over the Ukraine – later followed by some EU States that were too worried about their Russian gas supplies to upset Russia, called for and ran the job of trying to find the second lost Malaysian airliner in the Indian ocean, settled the Labor inspired eaves dropping on the Indonesian President’s wife by the Australian security services, refused to join the world movement of taxing our power suppliers and big businesses out of business in the name of Climate Change etc.

The pity is that Australians have such short memories for successes. Worse is the pity that so many Australians cannot think for themselves, believe unscientifically derived trash and treat the ABC and the msm as telling gospel truths without considering their agendas. To actually cling to the media and Labor tales of a dastardly knighting of Phillip, something a large number of other nations had already done, is puerile in the extreme, but worse, is a
reflection of how little people think for themselves.

The thought of an elected world Government troubles me every bit as much as the idea of an unelected world government.
Look at the bunch we’ve saddled ourselves with in the Federal Government. And the Opposition is even worse.

Nevertheless, world government will come. After all, technological changes mean the other side of the planet is now closer in terms of travel time than the other side of the State was when Federation occurred.

The question is whether we accede to others designs, or determine a structure that we can live with, or that at least will let us live.
I have some thoughts about such a structure.
We need not be bound by the dictates of the past.
We could adopt some ideas proposed by Robert Heinlein for example. Why not require that any law requires a two thirds majority to pass, and can be repealed by a one third majority, for example. After all, if a law is so poor it cannot command two thirds of our assent, it is probably a bad law.
Every law must be capable of being vetoed by the voters.
Ideally, political parties should be outlawed as criminal conspiracies, with the offence of ‘associating with a known politician’ created.
Many of the laws of the US BIll of Rights seem desirable.
Technological optimists such as myself need to be reminded that Heinlein’s fiction also warned against assuming that if you feed honest figures into a computer, you’ll necessarily get honest figures out….
There need to be checks and balances on any Government, similar to that of the US Supreme Court; but that example is enough to demonstrate that there need to be checks against that body too.
Heinlein quite rightly proclaimed ‘the power to tax is the power to destroy’. (He also coined the phrase “there’s no such thing as a free lunch’)
If a World Government is founded, it must have stringent limits on it’s budget and spending.

Even the most libertarian of us acknowledges that there is a role for Government to enforce contract and limit violence.

I don’t get it. How is that a headline subject? It’s just more soft-soaping. Like, he thinks the ABC and luvviedom are going to come round if he talks their lingo? They just want your elimination, Tony. Followed by your utter obliteration and atomisation. And then they want to really hurt you. Lastly…

    Got it now?

If you need a subject, try “Big Green’s White Elephants: The Wasted Trillions So Far”. A second speaker might want to discourse on “Frigidaires to the Inuit: How Green Carpetbaggers Along With Tex, Boris And Abdul Sold Diesel Gen To Coal And Uranium-Rich Skippies And How They Can’t Stop Laughing At The Silly Convict Mugs”.

    Should do for a warm-up.

Tony is a lukewarmer but he’s the best chance we have of getting a debate going. I think of Tony as Bjorn Lomborg with a twist.

This from his London speech late last year.

‘The growing evidence that records have been adjusted, that the impact of urban heat islands has been downplayed, and that data sets have been slanted in order to fit the theory of dangerous anthropogenic global warming does not make it false; but it should produce much caution about basing drastic action upon it.

‘Then there’s the evidence that higher concentrations of carbon dioxide (which is a plant food after all) are actually greening the planet and helping to lift agricultural yields. In most countries, far more people die in cold snaps than in heat waves, so a gradual lift in global temperatures, especially if it’s accompanied by more prosperity and more capacity to adapt to change, might even be beneficial.’

      180

      • #

Yeah, I know a lukie is the best one can hope for. Problem is, it’s a bit like bringing on the Mensheviks to hold down the Bolshies. You just breed a tougher, more patient class of Bolshie. It’s why I got suspicious of the Judith Curry thing: keeping the climatariat alive and plausible by spicing the consensus with lashings of skepticism.

Oddly enough, the modernisation of the coal power we’ll be using anyway, the implementation of nuclear, sane fire policies and general thrift would bring about this much desired “carbon” reduction. The white elephants just chew through money and coal. The globalists, the Undead, know that and don’t care. We should care, we should conserve.

The Earth is not our Great Mother. That’s the illusion of a few thousand years of luck at the top of an interglacial due to end pretty soon. It’s just that the Earth at its worst is better than Mars as real estate. As with all real estate, we should not mess it up but we should not fetishise it either. People matter most.

I gave up on ‘saviour-leader politicians’ long ago.

For every ‘good’ decision there are at least three decisions that are relatively ‘bad’. No one person changes that dynamic, nor a ‘team’. At best they change sentiment, amend the culture some, but within the same system, process and institutions. So maybe reduce the prevailing stupidities in one area, via replacing them with other stupidities and illusions. And they’re always sold as the most rational and best of the bad choices.

Meanwhile, money talks and the average Barry and Roseland are humored, their plight empathised with, tossed a bone to gnaw on and promised much more to come.

            And it works—again and again.

Political messiahs don’t exist, actualpy, at all, no matter the evocative sentiments and intents. Where they appear to ‘exist’ it’s actually just superior professional illusion foisting and gullability farming. Hawke and Howard were particularly good at it, KRudd, Julia and Tony, not so much. Reagan, Clinton, Obama plus Trump were all excellent at it. Trump is clearly the most accomlished Messiah-bullsh|tter to date. That will be a bitter pill to swallow, as people realise that again, they’ve been had.

And this just keeps on working.

Generally there are just messiah-leader politicians and an endless number of true believer suckers.

TA is a politician and a climate skeptic. Being a politician, he understands the challenge in getting across the message that AGW is a fraud. The challenge being a MSM that is inhehently left leaning and is always looking for any opportunity to ridicule any skeptical messenger as a climate denier. To counter that narrative, TA is using a tactic of soft questioning of the data, AGW theory and the crazy RE policies that follow. He belives that this will open up public debate which will in turn lead to the scam unravelling.

Personally, I think the direct Trump approch is far better than the TA approach. TA doesn’t relise that his tactic is not understood by most conservatives and the left leaning MSM will never allow public discussion in any case. It’s far better to call out this BS for what it is and empower the people to reject the scam as Trump is both doing and winning. Trump’s use of Twitter to circumvent the MSM is the way forward.

The Trump approach would be best, but its a different political system.

Abbott needs to talk about the science, so he should start his speech with a Bob Carter quote and go from there.

‘…no evidence exists that Australian climatic phenomena—including droughts, floods, storms, heat waves and snowstorms—differ now in intensity or frequency from their natural historical and geological patterns of strong annual and multi-decadal variability”

We need a leader who is prepared to be ridiculed in the MSM, to get a debate going, so the Oz would most likely cover the lecture and the others play catch up. Its newsworthy and cannot be ignored.

Agree. However by giving the Bob Carter memorial lecture, he is openly and generously supporting Bob Carter and Bob said it all, for all of us. So did Bill Leak. It is our out of control media which are the problem. They no longer interview, they lecture, talk over people, insult and ignore. As with Jordan Peterson and Cathy Newman. Now with the Hungarian Foreign minister being lectured by the BBC.

No, he is is a politician and a pragmatist. Confrontation achieves nothing, so he slides around it.

He is the only loud voice of reason in the parliament at present. Sure as a lawyer, an economist and politician he cannot openly criticise Australia’s Chief Scientist for example.

There are also many ramifications of the current attacks on our democratic values and our focus in this blog on Global Warming can blind us to all the problems. There is also the direct attack on our history, our values, our Christian religion our right to self determination and even to protect our borders. This is happening in the US, all of Europe, Canada and most democratic countries. It is organized. Climate Change is only one extreme fabrication. Look at the attacks on Trump for daring to support the right to say who comes to America! Even the bulk of Democrat voters want this right as in Britain, but all you hear are the elites, the BBC, ABC, SBS, CNN. Plus Bernie Sanders and Jeremy Corbyn. Extremist who want to wreck democracy from within.

As for science, we can help. It is what Ian Plimer and Bob Carter and Peter Ridd have tried to do. Seriously qualified passionate people who are being heard, but not by the mainstream media for whom it is all a game in the Progressive plan to strip your rights, your money and your freedoms.

I even went looking for a new joke on the internet last week. Sometimes they can be good. I found in the top of the list a lecture from the Australian Human Rights Commission that jokes were offensive, racist, insensitive and often an affront to Human Rights in the opinion of our HRC. Of course! That’s why they are funny! What’s not funny is being lectured by a public servant on why humour should be banned.

So it’s not only about man made Global Warming. It’s about the growing assault on our basic values of which the most egregious is the totally science free, fact free story about man made Global Warming.

            I have two major questions.
            1. Why does everyone assume ‘man made’ Global Warming is man made. Has anyone questioned whether the 50% increase in CO2 is man made? I have. It isn’t. Fossil CO2 is under 2% of all CO2.

            2. Tony is a lawyer. In fact as Prime Minister, he wrote the law.

However his Act under John Howard’s government was the Renewable Energy Act 2000 (Electricity). First, while the word Carbon is not mentioned once, this is sophistry. All carbon fuels are ‘not approved’. Secondly, the word tax is not mentioned. It is not a tax, but an obligation under law compelling electricity retailers to pay wind and solar people for the fact of generation, not the electricity itself, which is extra. This is with our money. It is in fact the world’s highest Carbon Tax. It is robbery, like King John’s robbery.

I also believe this would not stand examination by the High Court because it is not a tax or service. It does not go into General Revenue. It is a compulsory and hidden payment by our electricity retailers, supervised by the Government and under obligation and penalties but to third parties who provide no service to the customers. As such it is compulsory enrichment of third parties, an improper and unlawful impost on the people of Australia since Magna Carta. We get nothing for our money. Strangers get rich. They own solar farms and windmills and we are forced to pay not only for their electricity, but merely for the fact of whether they generate electricity, even if it is not sold.

So my question is, would this law stand up to examination in the High Court of Australia as not within the rights of a democratic government under British law to impose, to directly enrich third parties for no service or goods at all and not a government tax. We are forced to make strangers richer for no benefit to ourselves. Even the Australian newspaper published that $3Billion of this money leaves the country. Another stays in the hands of middle men in Australia who mark up this impost and double it. No one is exempt. No one gets a tax deduction. It hits the poorest people hardest, stealing up to 10% of their disposable income.

This is the biggest carbon tax in the world. It is improper and possibly illegal under Westminster tradition, the forced enrichment of third parties. We get nothing back.

Tony never practised law, so he is not really a lawyer, more a journalist with an understanding of economics and law.

Technically you are right. He does have qualifications in law but he has not prosecuted cases in the normal day to day sense of cases in criminal law, corporate law, taxation law, law of torts or constitutional law. A degree in economics does not mean he is an accountant either, but he would understand the principles better than most.

Tony has been in parliament for 24 of his 60 years and if that is not all about law, I don’t know what is. He even has a Masters in International politics from Oxford. Law is about principles and precedents and an understanding of the history and basis and working of the law, something which is not taught to scientists or even businessmen. So my question for someone who sponsored the RET through parliament under John Howard is whether he agrees with its basic premise, that someone can be ordered by the government to hand money to someone else and for no benefit at all. I don’t think so. That is government legislated robbery.

Tony also managed a concrete business, where he ran foul of the unions. Yes, he was also a journalist on the defunct Bulletin, like Malcolm. He was a Rhodes scholar, like Malcolm. Unlike Malcolm though, he remains a real sportsman with a Blue at Oxford, has rescued many people as a surf lifesaver, puts his life on the line regularly in bushfires and spends two weeks a year living with aborigines. Malcolm is an ultra rich inheritor who had his own bank, lives on Point Piper and paid for his own job by giving $1.75Million to Turnbull’s Liberals(tm). He was a practicing lawyer. As I said, its all about principles.

Yes TdeF. All those facts and much more have been well known by those who have done their own research. It also supports the often stated undeniable truth that even if the whole of Australia was shut down and everyone disappeared off the face of the earth the reduction in CO2 would be 0.0000% rounded to four decimal places, which means the temperature difference would be 0.000000C rounded to 6 decimal places even assuming if the climate change models were correct, which of course they have been shown instead to be totally wrong. So all the fuss about how we must replace coal fired power with renewables costing us billions is a total scam, the biggest of all time. People should be going to prison for that.

I won’t because I am Brisbane based and too busy to go to Melbourne. The last AEF event in Brisbane was years ago.

The IPA is the same. Could not be bothered to host an event in Brisbane. A reason I no longer am a member or contribute.

The main reason was the censoring of an article written by Malcolm Roberts by John Roskam in the IPA magazine. Hypocrisy is not limited to the left!

Censoring? Really? That doesn’t sound like the IPA. Would you care to clarify that statement?
Censorship typically means selective editing of some bad parts, and letting the work be published in a modified form. Is that what you mean?
What was Roberts talking about? And has Roskam said anything about that incident?

Amazing. He specifically warned about Malcolm Turnbull and friends. Perfectly right, ahead of time.

As for another 4 degrees of warming by 2100, they are still talking about 0.5C per decade as in the 1980s. Thats 5C per century. So by now, 30 years on, we should be up another 1.5C! In fact, the temperature has stopped rising by 0.1C for twenty years.

So all that money is being handed out by the Marxists of Paris for nothing at all. There is a rider. Only democracies have to pay.

AUDIO: 5mins45secs: 29 Jun: 2GB: Chris Smith Show: Liberal MP slams ‘irresponsible’ and ‘dangerous’ SBS ad
Liberal MP Craig Kelly is calling on the SBS to apologise after airing an ad encouraging Australians to turn off their heating to meet emissions targets.
The ad urges families to turn off their heaters in order to help hit targets outlined in the Paris Agreement.

Chair of the Environment and Energy Committee Craig Kelly is slamming the ad as a “disgrace” and is calling for the tax-payer funded broadcaster to pull the ad immediately and apologise.
“I watched it and I was just absolutely flabbergasted that such a reckless, dangerous ad could actually be produced by a government agency,” he tells Deborah Knight.
The Member for Hughes says the scientific and medical evidence is clear, living in a cold home is bad for your health.
“The World Health Organisation recommends that your home be heated to at least 18 degrees in winter. There’s many Australian homes that don’t reach that temperature.

“To spread a message that when you’re cold… don’t turn the heater on because that might help with our Paris targets, it’s irresponsible and it’s dangerous.”

29 Jun: ClimateDepot: NYC’s Youth March to Sound the Alarm on Climate Change
By Ilana Cohen and Amy Torres
(Ilana Cohen and Amy Torres are co-head coordinators for Zero Hour NYC)

7 Jun: TheBeaconBeat: Beacon (High School) Seniors Organize a Youth-Led Climate March for July 21st, 2018
Seniors in Global Environmental Politics sit with their Subcommittee groups in class, organizing for the Zero Hour NYC Youth Climate March taking place on July 21st, 2018.
For the last few weeks, Beacon seniors in History teacher Bayard Faithfull’s Global Environmental Politics course have dedicated their last unit to organizing a Youth Climate March in New York City for July 21st, 2018 as part of the Zero Hour organization, a youth-led movement to combat climate change and support environmental justice…
Students from New York City to Melbourne, Australia will take to the streets to call upon policymakers at every level of governance to separate themselves from the fossil fuel industry and support a complete transition to renewable energy…

Beacon students began organizing for the NYC march shortly after Mr. Faithfull introduced them to the Zero Hour march taking place in Washington, DC. One student, Ilana Cohen, reached out to Zero Hour’s organizers to inquire about a sister march in the city. After hearing that there was none, she and fellow senior Amy Torres became determined to organize their own…Their friends in Global Environmental Politics were eager to get involved in the march-organizing efforts. Now, the entire class is broken up into five official Subcommittees, each focusing on a different aspect of the march…

Already, the NYC march has attracted attention from lawmakers and activists alike. Recently, the City of New York tweeted in support of the student organizers’ efforts. Organizational partners for the NYC march include the People’s Climate Movement, 350 NYC, Alliance for Climate Education, and Sunrise Movement.

TWEET: City of New York @nycgov: For youth, by youth. March with us on July 21st. #ThisIsZeroHour @ThisIsZeroHour @NYClimate

‘Reports of the death of coal have been greatly exaggerated …’ (apologies to Mark Twain).
In Australia coal isn’t dying a natural death, it’s being slowly strangled.
