Someone leaked an in-house Google video to Breitbart. A couple of days after Donald Trump won the 2016 election the impartial and analytical monopoly team was doing group hugs, almost in tears, and doing psychoanalysis of how Trump and the fascist extremists won. In their expert opinion voters are irrational, and motivated by xenophobic fear or conversely boredom (which is a lot like fear, except for being the opposite. The Google team clearly have a good grip on the topic.).
It’s a message of hate and ignorance. In Google-land half the US population are like extremists, have things in common with terrorists, and definitely didn’t have any legitimate concerns. Amazing how these brains had more access to search keywords and websites of Trump supporters than almost anyone on the planet, yet have not apparently read any.
Google has come out saying this was just some employees and executives expressing personal opinion. So let’s just clarify that this was only the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer, two Vice Presidents and the two men who founded Google. Not the whole of Corporate Management then, and there might be one secret Trump voter in the Maths and Algorithms Department. Though they would have to stay in hiding lest they suffer the same fate as James Damore.
With 88,000 employees Google is bound to employ a few Trump voters, but those deplorables just can’t say so at the office. Eileen Noughton, VP of People Operations, even acknowledges that conservative employees don’t feel comfortable revealing themselves.
Google also insists that nothing they said suggests any political bias in their products. The CFO tears up and talks about the moment she realized the election was “going the wrong way”, the first moment she realized “WE were going to lose”. It was like a “ton of bricks”. Later the co-founder, Brin, asks what they can do to ensure a “better quality of governance and decision-making.” He doesn’t appear to be talking about better governance of Google…
See the comments from Walker and the CEO Pichai below.
THE GOOGLE TAPE: Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin ‘Deeply Offended’ by Trump’s Election
Allum Bokhari, Breitbart
Sergey Brin, co-founder of one of the most influential companies in the world:
““As an immigrant and a refugee, I certainly find this election deeply offensive, and I know many of you do too.”
Walker says that Google should fight to ensure the populist movement – not just in the U.S. but around the world – is merely a “blip” and a “hiccup” in a historical arc that “bends toward progress.”
CEO Sundar Pichai states that the company will develop machine learning and A.I. to combat what an employee described as “misinformation” shared by “low-information voters.”
John Hindraker watched the whole 1 hour and 3 minutes:
Powerline: It’s Official, Google Is a Democratic Party Front
All of the speakers express grief over Donald Trump’s election. All of the speakers assume that every Google employee is a Democrat and is stunned and horrified that Hillary Clinton–the worst and most corrupt presidential candidate in modern history–lost. There is much discussion about what Google can do to reverse the benighted world-wide tide exemplified by Brexit and Trump’s election. The insane doctrine of “white privilege” rears its head.
You really have to see it to believe it. Having suffered through the hour-long cri de cœur–OK, to be fair, there is a huge element of schadenfreude, too, and you will relish much of it–you probably will have several reactions: 1) These people may have certain valuable technical skills, but they aren’t very bright and are unusually lacking in self-awareness. 2) It is remarkable that they can achieve such an extraordinary monoculture in an organization with thousands of employees. It must require vigorous enforcement of right-think. 3) It is easy to see how these uniformly left-wing robots/people seamlessly transitioned into Resisting the duly elected Trump administration.

Whatever Google’s values are, they are not the same as US voters.
- Trying to explain the motivations of Trump supporters, Senior VP for Global Affairs, Kent Walker concludes: “fear, not just in the United States, but around the world is fueling concerns, xenophobia, hatred, and a desire for answers that may or may not be there.” (00:01:12)

- Brin compares Trump voters to “extremists,” arguing for a correlation between the economic background of Trump supporters and the kinds of voters who back extremist movements. Brin says that “voting is not a rational act” and that not all of Trump’s support can be attributed to “income disparity.” He suggests that Trump voters might have been motivated by boredom rather than legitimate concerns. Not the best timing for Google to show its real face.
Google faces global media revolt
Chris Merritt, The Australian, September 10
After being fined billions of dollars for anti-competitive conduct in Europe, Google is facing an international revolt by mainstream media seeking a regulatory crackdown and possible break-up of its business empire.
These moves have been triggered by persistent complaints by publishers in Europe, the US and Australia that the tech giants, and Google in particular, are abusing their market power to stifle threats to their dominance over the online distribution and monetisation of news.
News Corp has Google in their sights — pushing for structural interventions that may mean the break up of Google, Facebook and other tech giants. They want more transparency in the algorithms:
In the lead-up to those hearings, the European Publishers Council has told the FTC the tech giants’ algorithms were exposing online readers to “echo chambers” filled with opinions that confirm and do not challenge their existing views and values. The News Media Alliance, representing 2000 publishers in the US, has urged the FTC to use its antitrust and consumer protection powers against Google and the other tech giants because of the “dire consequences the further erosion of quality news will have for society.
“When platforms are accused of manipulation or bias, their most common response is that they rely on objective, neutral algorithms,” the submission says. “The problem is that no one — not the victims of the alleged manipulation or bias, not regulators, not the public, not even the advertisers who purchase the products generated by the algorithms — has any insight into how those algorithms work.
“The algorithms are ‘black boxes’ and many platforms expect the public simply to accept the output,” says the News submission.

Some more recent Australian Government history spanning back to the election of the Rudd led Union Labor Government in November 2007.
Around 2008/09 PM Rudd diverted the RAAF VIP Flight 737 executive jet to Broome Western Australia from its flight path to Perth. He stayed at the beachside resort home of Channel 7 Chairman Kerry Stokes. After visiting Perth he returned to Canberra and not long afterwards the government he led cut private sector broadcasting licences by a total amount of $250 million a year shared by all the broadcasting companies to present day. In the last LNP Coalition Government Budget for 2018/19 another cut in licence fees was made, I forget the amount.
Around the time the Rudd licence fee cuts were made the ABC was given extra funding and were given a contract to broadcast for the Australian Government into Asia Pacific Region, the successful tenderer was a private sector broadcaster, Sky News I believe it was. Additional funding was given to ABC for the contract. Another boost to funding was given to enable ABC to increase social media activities.
Later the increased cost National Broadband Network election stunt was announced offering high-speed service with no mention for extra cost to user. And then when PM Rudd was replaced by PM Gillard she and Minister for Communication Conroy were caught out plotting to introduce internet censorship but the outcry forced them to drop the plan.
With due consideration for this Google story I read not long ago that George Soros and other globalists have extensive investment interests in MSM companies globally.
Putting it all together with what we know about the UN based new world order and related agendas, what a wicked web they have conceived and created, a propaganda network spreading “fake news” world wide to deceive the unwary.
181
Which leads me to GetUp in Australia, the political activist group that was established here by AWU Executive Bill Shorten using union membership funds that also has donations from George Soros. The unions also donate to the Australian Greens.
Consider the Liberal Party being hijacked by “Black Hand” faction members from HQ to Parliament MPs, the “Turnbull Party” brand added. Former PM Turnbull is a friend of GetUp as the website “stopturnbull” confirms. And, the Black Hand faction used GetUp services to assist them commencing in 2009 to get Tony Abbott MP. I understand that the go between is Christopher Pyne, Minister for Defence at present.
Join the dots, we have been half asleep and many Australian fully asleep as the merger of Union Labor and Turnbull Liberal proceeded with the new silent partners pretending to be opposite sides of politics, two party business as usual opposition and government. Turnbull’s long term plan from years before he pulled the rug from under sitting Liberal MP Peter King in Wentworth Electorate using a massive branch stacking exercise was to get rid of the National Party Coalition partner and the conservative Liberals, and then to merge with Union Labor to form a single unassailable government.
Interestingly, writing in The Bulletin Magazine during 2007 just after Rudd became Opposition Leader journalist Max Walsh revealed the “corporate-style takeover” by the union movement of the ALP that represented unionists and like minded people. Union Labor forced sitting Labor MPs out of their safe electorate seats and union trained executives replaced them. Walsh wrote that the main objective was complete control of Australia’s governments.
There is much more but this will do for now.
Don’t let them succeed.
Deny them Senate seats and as many electorate seats as we can.

14 Sept: SMH: Peter Hannam: ACT becomes first in Australia to join UN’s Powering Past Coal Alliance
The ACT government has become the first jurisdiction in Australia to join the United Nations-backed Powering Past Coal Alliance aimed at rapidly phasing out the fossil fuel considered a major contributor to climate change.
The move, announced at the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco overnight, came as almost 400 investors with $US32 trillion ($45 trillion) unveiled accelerated efforts to meet the Paris Climate Agreement goals to keep global temperatures from rising less than 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
Shane Rattenbury, the ACT’s Climate Change Minister, said the territory would join other alliance members such as France and Mexico, that had agreed to reduce coal’s role in electricity generation. It also opposed construction of any plants that don’t capture and store carbon dioxide produced.
Mr Rattenbury said his government had joined to cement its leadership, which includes achieving 100 per cent renewable electricity and reaching net-zero emissions by 2045. “[That’s] two of the most ambitious climate targets in the world,” he said.
He contrasted those plans with Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s support for coal – such as bringing a lump of it into Parliament – and his recent snubbing of the Pacific Islands Forum in Nauru, where climate change was a major focus. Several Pacific island states are also alliance members…
Cbus goes net-zero
Other Australian entities, including businesses and the cities of Sydney and Melbourne, were active at the San Francisco summit.
“Australian investors are not waiting for [the federal] government to sort itself out,” Emma Herd, chief executive of the Investor Group on Climate Change, said. “They recognise that climate change is a global economic trend and are working with their global counterparts to get on with it.”
Cbus, a leading building and construction industry super fund, announced it had set a target for all its property holdings to be net-zero emissions by 2030.
The company, which holds property worth about $5 billion, would demand managers provide roadmaps by 2020 on how they will reach the emissions target…
Adani switch
Signs, though, that Australia is not turning its back on coal include Thursday’s announcement by Adani that it had redesigned its rail plans in a bid to accelerate the development of its proposed giant Carmichael coal mine in Queensland’s Galilee Basin.
The Indian company said it ditched plans to develop its own 388 kilometre-long rail line and would instead build a 200-km narrow gauge connection to an existing network.
The railway could support annual output of 27.4 million tonnes of coal from the mine.
“It does dramatically reduce the capital requirement” for the railway, said Tim Buckley, an analyst with anti-coal group, the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis. “This will literally halve the cost.”
Even so, the economics remain challenging for Adani, made worse of late by financial curbs being imposed on conglomerates by India’s central bank, Mr Buckley said.

So the ACT Government will now disconnect from the NSW electricity grid?
Maybe diesel generators, SA must have a fleet owners discount by now and could help the ACT out.

13 Sept: San Francisco Examiner: Bike lane protest highlights hypocrisy of ride-hail use at Global Climate Summit
By Joe Fitzgerald Rodriguez
While hundreds of protesters filled the streets to protest the Global Climate Aciton Summit’s broad, sweeping discussions over climate change, a smaller protest nearby made a far more focused point:
Why are so many people attending the summit arriving and leaving by ride-hails like Uber and Lyft?
A group of about twenty cyclists from the advocacy group People Protected Bike Lanes joined hands in a line down Howard Street near Third Street, near the climate summit, to symbolically and bodily protect cyclists from a mass of double-parking Uber and Lyft vehicles…
It’s also the inherent hypocrisy of riding fume-emitting vehicles — cars — to a climate summit in the first place that has his eyebrows raised. Automobiles are the number one source of emissions in California and San Francisco, (organizer) Brezina noted.
“It’s a mess,” Brezina said, of nearby traffic. San Francisco “made the most half-assed accomodations for bike users — it is dangerous. And what awful priorities — we have leaders like Anne Hildalgo of Paris visiting,” he noted, at a summit “dominated by cars with no safe place for people to travel by zero emissions alternatives.”
Notably, the climate summit is a several-block walk from the most transit rich area of San Francisco — downtown — which plays host to Ford GoBike bikeshare stations, BART, Muni trains, Muni buses, red transit-only lanes to facilitate public transit’s swift movement removed from vehicles, and taxis, which are under clean vehicle requirements from San Francisco transportation officials…
Barry Taranto, an 18-year taxi driver who worked The City’s streets during the climate event, noted the swarms of Uber and Lyft vehicles presumably hailed by Moscone Center attendees.
“Lots of them [Uber and Lyft] using the transit lanes to pick up, and at the taxi stands picking up, they’re swarming all over the place. It’s kind of ironic to me climate change people are taking them, rather than the greener fleet,” he said, noting The City’s strict clean vehicle requirements for taxis.
“They’re not taking us, it doesn’t make sense,” Taranto said.

13 Sept: CNET: Google employees are reportedly resigning over China search efforts
The resignations follow a protest from over 1,000 Googlers last month over the project, codenamed Dragonfly.
by Richard Nieva
The company has been under intense scrutiny since The Intercept reported last month on Google’s plans to build a censored search engine for China, eight years after initially retreating from the country. At the time of the departure, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, who grew up in the Soviet Union, cited the “totalitarianism” of Chinese policies…
Now, some employees appear to be going to the next level by leaving the company altogether. That includes Jack Poulson, a senior research scientist who worked at Google for more than two years, according to articles by The Intercept (LINK) and BuzzFeed (LINK). He was previously an assistant mathematics professor at Stanford, according to his LinkedIn profile, and tendered his resignation from Google on Aug. 31.
At least six other employees have also resigned over Dragonfly, according to BuzzFeed…

by David Shepardson
A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers on Thursday asked Alphabet Inc’s Google if it will reenter the Chinese search engine market and if it would comply with China’s internet censorship policies upon its return…
Sixteen members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including some liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans, said in a letter they had “serious concerns” about the potential step and asked Google if it would agree to restrict certain words, terms or events in China. The company did not immediately comment on Thursday…

• Insufficiency of climate action has already contributed to the intensification of storms in the past, in the present and in the future with ever more and ever worse to come.”

by Jack Montgomery
UKIP Scotland MEP David Coburn branded the EU’s new copyright proposals an “enormous strike against free speech on the Internet” in the European Parliament, before being howled down by establishment politicians and cut off by the parliament’s president…
“It’s not to protect copyright, I can tell you that,” he laughed.
“It’s nothing to do with protecting copyright. The one thing that’s upset this place is the rise of populist parties, like UKIP — the word populist is a dirty word.
“They are scared witless, and UKIP could never have existed, have risen, without the Internet, without the freedom of the Internet. It was the one thing that gave us the ability to transcend the media, the control of press barons, the BBC — the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation or the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation, depending on your point of view — ITV, or whatever.
“That’s all controlled, [but the Internet] was a way of getting the [populist] message out there, and they are horrified by this, and it’s taken them years to figure out ways of trying to cripple it,” he said…

I was struck by how medieval this all feels.
We seem to be going back to a time when political correctness was thought a law of nature.
Cuius regio, eius religio.
The American left used to express solidarity with the ideals of freedom.
Ich bin ein Berliner.
Now, to live in their sphere, you must pledge allegiance to whatever set if litmus tests they fancy today.
Our only salvation is likely that these people are so vicious that from time to time, as their elite fantasies change,
they eat their young.
Once power is at hand, the big tent becomes a pyramid with slippery slopes, as only one can truly be el jefe.

Ruairi,
You never fail to amaze with your ability to put so much into so little; there are times I think it would be good to have just one small iota of your creativity, then it dawns upon me that it’s better that you have it instead, and I (and everyone else) can enjoy your beautiful, concise summaries of the day’s events.
On the topic at hand, it has been “… the voice of one crying in the wilderness … “, trying to warn friends and family about using G-mail, Chrome, and other things run, created, or sponsored by Google.
Then, the article appeared in our local newspaper (yes, they still make dead-tree, black-and-white [with some color photos] hold-it-in-your-hands-and-get-black-ink-on-your-fingers newspapers around here), and just as in climate-change-denial (i.e., they deny that the climate has ever changed in the past, until humans came along and “buggered” it up [sorry Roy, couldn’t resist!]), the cognitive dissonance of those who have used and promoted all things Google, was palpable. They are “against” any Big-Brother-ism (or so they say), but here they are supporting the turning all of us into Borg.
Just my half-pfennig on this … … …

Vlad,
About bugger — it’s been used here numerous times before my comment so, please take off and run with it as you please with my blessing.
Enough about bugger.
I have run Chrome for years and I think it’s the best and easiest browser I’ve tried. How many people know that Microsoft built into Internet Explorer an ability for employers to snoop on everything their employers do online. And from Internet Explorer you cannot tell they’re doing it. But from Chrome you can if you go to grc.com and tead what Steve Gibson has to say about Internet Explorer vs. Chrome. Click on Shields Up on the homepage.
I’ve relied on Steve Gibson for a long time now and he’s never let me down. Beware…he does have products he markets on his site. Interestingly he’s a fanatic and writes everything in assembly language for speed and efficiency. How many would do that these days?
I don’t like anyone being a giant with monopoly potential whether they’re honest or not because the temptation to be a bad boy always pops up. I wish there was a way to have government options so that temptation could be avoided. If anyone has an idea how we could do that, let me know.

Thanks Vlad for your kind and considered words, much appreciated.

Given the current anger at Google I wasn’t going to say anything, especially since I’m angry too. But then it became a critical issue because Google appears to be saying, “Yes, we’ll fix our problems and never do it again.” But they aren’t, are they? So here’s my voIce added to the cry saying, “Break them up antitrust style and do away with their ability to manipulate anything.”
Personally I prefer Bing, Microsoft’s search engine. It is superior if you hunt the Internet for pictures as I do periodically looking for pictures of steam locomotives and old airplanes. Call up bing.com to run it if you haven’t tried it.
I’ve run Chrome for a long time and have found no problems except that the check as you type spell checker sends everything to a server somewhere to be looked at. But for that I get very obvious context analysis that gives me the word I wanted instead of what I typed almost 100%. And for a guy who types like a crippled chimpanzee that’s a valuable thing.
Chrome is also the only browser I know of that will let you look at an https site certificate and gives you the data from it that you can use to verify that you’re actually talking to the site you think you are with a capability you’ll find at grc.com. When I call up my bank to pay bills I’m certain I’m talking to the bank and not someone spoofing the bank in order to rob me with a few keystrokes.

And just for you Mr. Brin, I was deeply offended by the election of Barack Obama. He was the devil in an empty suit. But he was elected president and though I spoke against him I never once advocated impeachment nor did I do anything else aimed at removing him from office before the end of his term.
So I don’t care if you were offended or not. And you can take your offense and goto **** with it. Or you can believe what Obama told Republican leaders when he met with them shortly after his inauguration, “We won.” And we did in fact win. And you should get used to being on the losing side.

Just remembered that I never once did I expect anything good from Obama. And he lived down to my expectations, I was right, nothing good for me ever came of him. In fact he hurt me to the tune of thousands of dollars with his obamacare. He was just plain jealous of the fact that my employer thought enough of his employees to offer a $500 deductible medical plan. And why wouldn’t he? After all, his business depends on his employees.
Unfortunately for you, once Trump was elected my stock portfolio took off like a jet fighter, full throttle and up it has been going. So guess which president was good for the man living on side street USA? The trouble with opportunity knocking is that you need to be ready to take advantage of the opportunity. And you need realistic expectations. And that’s why I don’t follow the news anymore — it’s all opinion or worse, just plan lies. Instead I watch what happens and even more important, the result of what happens. And then I know the score. And I think no more North Korean missiles launched across neighboring Japan and no more threats of NK nukes landing on Guam counts for more than all the BS that ever came out of Barack Obama’s mouth.
And just in case you think I’m naive, I’m ready for a market downturn too. And I simply don’t believe those who’re trying to sell a soon upcoming crash that will make it impossible to survive unless I buy the advice they’re selling.

Not to worry. The Googleplex is located on mudflats and fill at the shoreline in east Mountain View, barely +9′ MSL elevation, so the “rapidly rising sea level” will swamp it in short order…if the next earthquake liquefaction/tsunami does not swamp it first. http://searchresearch1.blogspot.com/2012/11/answer-will-plex-be-underwater.html

Liquefaction has worked wonders in the past.
Bit of rain, high tide, small quake: she’s leveled.

The video is weird to watch. They at the same time totally arrogant, yet really pathetic.
