Are children driving this or is the media?
A bunch of children are being hailed as heroes for skipping a day of school in order to get better weather for their 120th birthday party. Imagine the thrill of importance for any 17 year old “said” to be wielding this power. This is rock-star stuff.
How teenage girls defied skeptics to build a new global climate movement
[by Tara John, CNN] A thick smudge of gold glitter on her right cheek belied the fact that [Anna] Taylor, 17, has taken a leading role in organizing a protest that is expected to see hundreds of students walk out of class across the UK on Friday.
“Hundreds” eh? Keep that figure in mind.
Meanwhile adults in yellow vests go to expense, effort and take risks to mass protest week after week and the TV ignores them
As Rafe Champion says: What is happening in Paris? Not much according to the MSM.
“There appears to be a different story to be told, but who would know?”
Week 13 and 50,000 people are still taking to the streets in an extraordinary leaderless protest. The Italian deputy PM personally went and met with the yellow vests and invited them to Rome. Police have had to block yellow vest protestors from crossing the border to join up with Italians. The French ambassador to Italy has been recalled, and the French government is officially “not happy”. President Macron is talking about holding a national referendum with 3 months of public debate on climate change, taxes, public services and democracy. France hasn’t had a referendum since 2005.
This phenomenon is entirely unprecedented but apparently not that newsworthy. It’s not like the media have spent twenty years telling us that everyone wants “climate action” and that was totally wrong.
Instead of wanting to stop storms, these adult protestors “want to live in dignity”. They “want to be heard”. Must be nutso.
The media reporting (such as google finds it) seems to be keen to report any violence, damage or injury as if this were a football match brawl or simply declaring that the movement is shrinking. Our ABC still adds a box to coverage: “What is the yellow vest movement“. The caption says it’s just “fuel taxes”, not a political phenomenon protesting elitist rulers, high taxes. The linked page tells us Everything We Need To Know is stuff like “violence“, “hoods“, “masks“, and “graffitti“. The phrase “largely peaceful” sneaks in to paragraph 4 to be immediately neutralized by telling us that “some” unnamed persons who may be people at the local coffee shop, are calling the protests the worst in over a decade and even anticipate the unrest leading to civil war. That’s a lot of negative words in “everything we need to know”, some of which have not even happened.
Tweeters tell a different story. See #YellowVests. Who needs the ABC when there are a thousand reporters on the spot?
Reuters tells us that the French people are saying Enough! and want the protests to stop. But ignore their headline and read their fine print:
While a majority of people support the movement, two in every three believe those still protesting each weekend in Paris and other cities are not representative of its early ambitions.
Lo, someone did a survey and someone else can interpret at least one question to say what they want to say. If the French media is like ours, French people probably are sick to death of hearing of fires and violence (which Craig Rucker told us were radical lefty infiltrators). Imagine if there were interviews with normal looking people in the crowd instead.
Imagine there was actual public debate on TV?
The media IS the problem
h/t Rafe
It’s amazing the number of people in the USA that have no clue what’s going on in Paris. There’s either too much news or too little of the right kind. A drawback of the Twitter world is you only know what you follow. The rest gets lost in the general noise.
330
Spetzer86,
Try https://twitter.com/hashtag/GiletsJaunes for more on the yellow vests on twitter.

It’s amazing the number of people in the USA that have no clue.
From Washington State, USA.
120
What is also amazing about the USA is the number of wonderful people with extraordinary knowledge about many things.
That is the way of the world.
After 20 years living in the US, I left dozens of friends and colleagues who were truly top-notch.
100
Where did you wash up Charles?
40
Ignorance is as ignorance says, and you sound like you fit the bill. Should I judge your entire country by you, or should I assume that there are people that actually aren’t ignorant but busy trying to live their lives instead of following every crook in the road. Most people in any country are non-political, they just want to live their lives. Same in your country, same in the USA.
30
With leftists since big bro, the record exists to be expunged.
70
I suspect any student protesters from high schools are either :
(a) Clueless / ignorant
(b) Want to wag school, or,
(c) Will have useless sociology major from ann Arts degree when they graduate.
Either way, its an empty shell of a movement…you can pick the future Student Union shills while they are at highs chool.
Meanwhile, real people doing real things to make real progress are too busy to be involved…ever notice that?
181
When I went to school a pass mark was anything over 50% , now anything over 1% gets you an “E” and that’s good enough apparently these days .
Curriculum is being dumbed down so much that soon primary school maths will be taught in high school .
More than a third of kids going from primary to secondary school are two years behind but hey let them protest during school hours because they weren’t getting any smarter by going to school anyway .
As our kids get dumber and our media more emboldened to spread to CAGW hoax our society is headed into a dark place .
182
Nothing shows up the corruption and collusion of the major media better than their having the gall to pretend that an AstroTurf contrived 200 children is world class activity, and 10’s of thousands of adults protesting does not deserve to be discussed or understood.
20
Do people really think that school kids protesting is newsworthy? Do I think Kids addressing adults in world forums is newsworthy? They are pawns and the media complicit in that. Look up “Desmond is Amazing” to see what lengths adults will go to promote agendas.
Yellow vests? Who are they? Are they newsworthy? MSM filter the news for all of us.
370
We should let kids be kids and adults be adults. The trouble with this up-side-down world live in is kids want to act like adults and adults are acting like kids. The whole world is walking blind folded towards the edge of a cliff.
412
HOw do propose to stop this outrage?
47
A return to balance in the MSM.
An informed society, not just an opinionated viewpoint, is the backbone of a strong democracy.
151
and that will stop kids thinking for themselves and adults thinking freely like what PeterS decries?
216
Proper adult role models…not man babies….
121
We need to concentrate on the school system, its the hardest nut to crack.

You had your NPC answer prepared, whatever the response to your set-up question.
Transparent.
Yet el gordo remained graceful enough to trust you and to answer truthfully.
Why do you bother with such pointlessness? /rhet

Too many steps are required. We have to let it run its course and eventually crash and burn before we rise from the ashes anew. For starters we would need to get rid of the SJWs masquerading as teachers and lecturers at our schools and Universities. That alone is an impossible task under the current circumstances.
141
‘Too many steps are required.’
If we could get balance back into the ABC newsroom, there would be a revolution.
A war of words but no crash and burn.
111
Gee Aye: HOw do propose to stop this outrage?
Jo: Sell the ABC.
131
Before we dismantle the ABC, the organisation needs to explain why they have been pushing propaganda. Then we can break it up and sell it off.
91
I know… abc >100 separate reports on the yellow vests in the last week and more than 20 in the last day. They must have an agenda.
37
Quantity beats quality or accuracy?
70
Quantity – consensuss, a socio-politico-subjective thingamejiggy…
Accuracy – non-consensuss, objective measurement of nature’s data,
what – it – is. (Aristotle’s Law of Identity and Law of Contradiction.
True or False. Leftists hate that.)
70
Gee Aye its not about the yellow vests, we understand there is a news cycle and this story is no longer newsworthy.
Climate change, energy and migration need to be debated on the ABC, in a fair and balanced way, before the federal election.
50
Christos, dispense with the virtue signalling “fair and balanced” nonsense.
Time to bring out the flame throwers, the lasers the GBU-43 MOAB of rationality and facts, economic reality, national security and cultural identity.
Nothing short of expunging obliteration of the socialist / communist virtue signalling, vacuous, destructive globalist polemic and its neo-Marxist kraptitudinous identity politics and political correctness, and put an end to the ideological prism that creates a Rainbow of chaos and the MSM celebration of the equality of misery.
60
Ummm …. its a democracy.
We can defeat the Cultural Marxists with words and ideas, no need to frog march them out the front door.
Sky News is fair and balanced, so aunty has to step up to the plate and match them. People in the bush now have two realities to contend with, who to believe?
30
“We can defeat the Cultural Marxists with words and ideas”
el gordo, neo-Marxism with its trinity of political correctness, cultural Marxism and identity politics have stolen the spirit democracy, if not practical democracy itself. Democracy is fragmented and it is both time to cleanse it and claim it back.
Words and ideas appear insufficient, particularly when they become sanctioned and embargoed, or twisted and redefined by the UN, by governments or committees or mangled by Alinsky et al. They are clearly inadequate to describe the de novo constellation of new genders for example.
The chanting mobs of “resist” and “impeach 45” or the Covington debacle, open borders, climatism, UN GMC, divestment, faux moral outrage, virtue signalling … the list of insidious and obvious societal destruction in this cultural religious war is as massive and obvious as the crime being perpetrated to motivate, sustain and achieve it.
Doesn’t the title of this thread rather illustrate that? The Yellow shirts epitomise both the failure of democracy, and of the globalist political elite …

Reports – there are only 8 articles in the past month!
These are distributed through there various media outlets!
Then it end up 100!
WOW! EIGHT articles – 3 were from O/S sources, 3 from Opinion Reporters, and 2 actually reported the riots, brutality etc!
So TWO reports were sent directly publishing the street scenes!
And these two were only put on 5 platforms!
You seem to misunderstand REPORTS?
100
Sell?
That suggests it is actually worth something.
Personally I am more of the view of razing to the ground, leaving no two stones still touching, and salting the earth so that nothing will grow.
Originally I also would have suggested selling the employees and their families into slavery but have since eaten some soy. I now support tagging them all for science and releasing them back into the wild. Only ethical thing to do.
102
Beheading?

70
Talk of selling off the ABC is pure fantasy. The ABC can’t be sold off by the LNP or the ALP. They are both too soft on the left. It can only ever be sold off if we perhaps one day end up with a party in power that is opposed to the left in a vigorous manner.
60
Easy way is to sell off the ABC / SBS radio frequency licenses in small chunks to a large number of independent community broadcasters . Then they can sit there and twiddle their thumbs ( and spew their usual crap out via the internet but only the radical left will view that ) . Best not to sell it as a going concern as the radical left ( such as Soros ) have plenty of money . Alternately the government could set up an alternate version of the ABC which is openly conservative and then each half can be as openly biased as they like .
50
Of course they are brainwashed into their stupid protest they understand little about. MSM interviews a few who talk utter propaganda straight out of Orwellian speak. Pre-conditioned ideas. Get em before they are 7.
111
The media in Canada hardly cover this protest either, but then they are being paid off with 600 million from the elitist’s liberal government. Must be an election around the corner!
170
The fact that they have been paid off guarantees bias and low credentialed presstitutes and/or useful Leftist spin meisters.
The public know this.
So do the Canadian government under Rainbow The Boy Whimper.
They’re nearly done with.
90
It isn’t the kids,it isn’t the MSM, they’re just pawns in the game.
It’s the Soro et Big Al globalists of the Trilateral Commission for

Sounds right to me . . . .
I was listening to a recent interview Patrick Woods did with Sarah Westall just before I came here.
Incidentally, I read the 49th edition of your journal yesterday. Took me back to 1960 when I had my first job in Australia, working on the railway in Brisbane. On my first day we were carrying beef carcasses from the Queensland carriages across the ramp to load them on to the New South Wales carriages. They were heavy! I remember the laughs when I collapsed in between carriages and was pinned to the ground by 180 pounds of bovine flesh and bones. It was good to read your explanation for the different rail gauges along with all the other good info.
https://beththeserf.wordpress.com/2017/11/10/49th-edition-serf-under_ground-journal/
90
I had a gander at that link and found an old article (2008)
The only thing Tim Yeo MP omitted in his demented socialist card carrying carbon utopia was the small matter of a carbon credit allowance to live and to exhale.
Clearly MP’s and athletes should pay their ‘fair share’, a substantially larger cost than the humble, barely moving, free speech constrained, impoverished serf.

I subscribed to The Age in Melbourne for 42 years. I gave up because I could not get any news, just the often outrageous opinions of their journalists like Michelle Grattan. A full page fact free rant against the police. Lots of offensive views but most worryingly, rarely a fact on the front page. Often the facts contradicted their reporting. It was the start of fake news, misreporting as in France.
The extremely left media have given up on facts. Sensationalist communist, fact free and utterly biased and that is before you read the opinion pieces or the editorial. The Age burned its conservative readership over a decade. The untouchable ABC similarly but being overpaid from our taxes, they continue to feed us rubbish news, Climate Change, endangered species, anti coal, anti borders and sneering at dissenting opinions, ridiculing conservative politicians.
There is no changing Climate. Droughts and flooding rains are the climate in dry countries like Australia. The unique tree species promote and are naturally adapted to bushfires and use them to propagate. We have exported wild fires with our gum trees to California, Greece, Spain and Israel. To protect ourselves and live in this dry country we need to back burn, build dams, spillways, canals and transform our landscape as was done across England before the Romans but like the English, maintain our sanctuaries and parks and green spaces, long before any conservation movement. When will they start blowing up dams?
The media are the enemy of the people today. Then there is the internet and a few outlets like Brietbart. A few balanced newspapers like the Australian and the Telegraph. Others like the Washington Post and the New York Times are so outrageously biased that they are unreadable and push openly anti semitic rubbish while simultaneously denouncing racism. Hypocrisy in print.
I put it down to a generation of journalists losing any sight of conservative views as socialists and communists invaded the universities in the 1980s and shut down any dissenting opinions, often violently. The previous AntiFascist groups in Berlin were the communists in the 1930s. Then it was Hitler’s socialists versus Stalin’s communists fighting for control of the press and both violently against free speech. History repeats.
Trump, Bolsanaro, Orban, Salvini give us hope where Macron, Merkel and even May openly resist the wishes of the people. As is the theme of the opportunistic Green politicians who care nothing at all about the environment or migration, “we tell them what they want to hear and when we get power, we do what we want”. The journalists are their useful idiots.
552
‘I put it down to a generation of journalists losing any sight of conservative views …’
That is true, from personal experience I can say journalism schools in Australia cultivated Cultural Marxism.
210
I knew one journo from one of the Fairfaux rags who had to leave becasue he got so frustrated, as he found the editorial control oppresively restrictive.
If true, it explains why we now have Soviet Era newspapers – whereby they pretend to tell us the news, and we pretend to believe it.
They are a joke, and the sooner these rags realize no one listens, they will shut up
Up the workers!! Oi – why did the lights go off? Dangerous Dan at it again?
90
Why are “journalists” trained at a University in “journalism” at all?
Surely, with a Year 12 level in English (if you cannot spell, read & write by then, then…) there is nothing “journalism school” can teach that cannot be better learned through a cadetship.
Surely, more important than how to structure politically correct bile, is how to think, ask good questions and how to develop a sense of what the underlying story really is.
Similarly, why are teachers at University and not teachers’ colleges? Learning to teach, with the right aptitude (and attitude), is a one year program, not four years of indoctrination (that is not to say Maths teachers should not first have a degree in Maths, or Science teachers a Science degree, etc)
Perhaps if we trained our people for the jobs they are needed to do, instead of indoctrinating them for 3-4 years in exchange for a faux “degree” we’d see less abuse (and I use the term advisedly) of our children in our schools.
The corollary being a return to standards of excellence we’ve seen disappearing for decades and a newly built-in natural resistance to scams like ‘Climate Change’.
171
In the old days journalism was regarded as a trade. At some point journalists became the intellectual elite and they put them through university. A poll conducted at the time found their status below garbage collectors.
There is news and opinion, somewhere along the way, during this communications revolution, opinion makes the news. The editors and producers can leave out stuff, its the sin of mission.
Its all very well for the Guardian and Fairfax to slant content, but the ABC is a disgrace.
160
” (that is not to say Maths teachers should not first have a degree in Maths, or Science teachers a Science degree, etc)”
Thanks. .. plus a 1 year Dip.ED.
Was standard back when…..
70
“Journalism” went from being a trade to a profession in Australia under Whitlam who orchestrated the move to embed generations of Leftist journalists into the media machine by making journalism something that required a university degree. The media studies departments were set up with Marxists.
51
Whitlam only made education free and didn’t run a conspiracy racket, but you may have a link to disprove me.
This is the reality.
‘By the late 1990’s, Australia had become one of the largest providers of academic journalism education in the world. More than half of Australia’s universities offered courses in journalism practice and studies.
‘This educational phenomenon occurred largely in the late 1980’s and through the 1990’s as university administrators searched assiduously for new growth areas to offset dwindling numbers in traditional areas of academic study.’

TdeF,
A plausible part of the decline in reporting standards has to be the diffuse consequences of drug use. Huh? People ask, “If a reporter gets high once in a while, that does not have to affect the standard of reporting.” Maybe it does not.
But, look at the size of illegal drug interceptions. 1.27 tonnes, IIRC, was the last big one, just the other day. You cannot spread this amount of mind-affecting chemistry on the general public without some consequences being visible. Mostly, the consequences are sidetracked by reporters in terms of occasional reports of individual violent highlights, one or two people badly affected now and then. Why not bypass these occasional anomalies an look for a mass shift in the baseline of behaviour. If you were a reporter, would you favour reporting of a crisis among reporters or would you try to sidetrack the matter?
Reporting is a type of work where drug effects can be concealed, in the sense that there are fewer critical tasks that say a precision machine operator or a surgeon would have to perform. Same as with excess alcohol consumption.
Am I qualified to observe and comment? I have not ever taken illicit/illegal drugs. I have never even smoked pot – yes, never – and have been a teetotaller by choice since 1983, so I can observe the problem without having to cover up being part of the problem.
There is of course no easy way to test the hypothesis that reporting standards have been badly affected by drug-taking, nor would there be many people interested in testing this hypothesis. However, blind Freddie can easily see the degeneration of standards, whereby reporting overall now reads more like advertising than dispassionate transmission of available facts. Geoff.

Whologenesis.
Just ask Roy FitzPeters.
You seem to be friends?
51
Hologenesis maybe Mary
33
Much more likely to be Pseudohologenesis given Mary’s ambiguous situation.
40
Sorry. I assumed you were talking about M the mother of J.
20
Skepticism of AGW only arose because of the manic wrongmess, inconsistencies with reality, and ANTI-SCIENCE gibberish in the AGW mantra.
Geegee, It seems you were one of those who partook of whatever you could get your hands on, and probably still do, hence your stunted mental growth.
52
nah wrong. It was drugs.
41
In your case, I don’t doubt your AGW “belief” stems from an overuse of drugs, hallucinogens, mainly. !
60
Skepticism is a foundation stone of science. Science without undisputed facts and conclusive proof based on those facts is not science. It is religion.
Until something is proven, like man made CO2 levels or CO2 based substantial warming, it is not science. It is conjecture. Both have been discredited
by the facts and of course by 30 years of simple observation. As for rapid sea level rise, how long do we have to wait to notice anything at all?
90
Geoff,
I would say it has strongest correlation with the reduction in religious values and practice.
50
Brilliant, TdeF.
50
Point to remember, TdeF, is that unless the media is publically owned (cough… ABC… cough…) they are a business and are trying to make a profit.
How to make a profit? Supply a market and give it what it wants.
So to be honest I have no real grief with privately owned media outlets spreading fake news. Slander and libel? No. No excuse for that, but otherwise a business should be perfectly capable of supporting the market they believe exists with the content they believe their readers want.
The problem I feel is not only that the majority of MSM have utterly failed to chase a viable market share, but they have also become misguided in what is their job vs what is their right.
20
Jo, you only just touch upon an appalling process of child abuse currently being perpetrated
in the cause of CAGW. In the USA this case has been dragging on for years;
https://rclutz.wordpress.com/2019/02/07/multiple-reasons-to-dismiss-kids-lawsuit/
what affect it will have on the child participants cannot be imagined.
In Europe there is this heartrending abuse of an admittedly mentally disturbed child who is being humiliated on a global stage by demonstrating the manipulation and brainwashing to which she has been subjected.
https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2019/02/14/whats-behind-climate-change-activist-greta-thunbergs-remarkable-rise-to-fame/
It is not as if history does not teach us of the consequences of this process, which should be publically and vociferously exposed.

Utterly extraordinary but by no means unique, if you dig about for news in any place other than the MSM.
Climate Alarmists : Conspiracy Theorists And Anti-Semites
In this exchange on the Australian Senate floor, an alarmist reporter attempted to link the global warming scam to chews.
Meanwhile,
As the hermetically sealed globalist bubble comes apart at the seams in Europe, the US and South America … Australasia must inevitably follow.
The gullible and the groomed, the media and the spinmeisters these have all been used up by the globalist Left who now resort to almost meaningless MSM news blackout and weaponise uneducated easily manipulated kids, all essentially ineffective, revealing more about those behind the scene.
As reality of failed socialism, open borders and declining temperatures increasingly affect the fabric of society in very uncomfortable, expensive, impoverishing and economically destructive ways, the Leftist rot among the legislators, media propagators and agitators, educators and bureaucratic administrators must become as obvious as it is powerless, spent and exposed. There is no hope in the equality of misery.
Face it, we’re listening to the screech of a dying gasp, watching the spasms of a clonic seizure and witnessing the rabies of identity politics, political correctness and cultural Marxism come to a miserable end.
MACRON Claims “I am YELLOW VEST, Too” As He Admits HUMILIATION
Tony Heller demonstrates: The US has by far the best temeprature data set in the world. It is also the most heavily tampered with and manipulated by government agencies. In this video I show how 61% of the data is now fake.
All the fakery and manipulation won’t conceal the reality of declining temperatures, nor the wider unravelling of the globalist Left effort to orchestrate the goal of 2030 globalist control.
Meanwhile, in New York, Amazon, in stunning reversal, dumps NYC as new HQ site.
Leftist globalist World is imploding before our eyes.

Latus, I would like to believe you and agree I truly would, BUT, the reality is, like you said only there
BUT the sheeple don’t look, don’t think, don’t question let alone actually dig – far too much effort and after so many years of education manipulation results in:
it has very little to do with boring facts which are too confusing
No Latus, I do not hold out much hope for our children or theirs that the world will not spiral into a leftard globalist, socialist, MONOCULTURE!
Orson Wells’ 1984 warned us, but can you see any way that it can be stopped?
Is there any mechanism large enough and strong enough to overcome our complacency of the last 30 – 50 years and drive the sheeple in another direction??
And what would that direction be that so many would turn ad follow??
70
Perhaps only mother earth and nature can wake up the people by continuing to cool the planet, as she has since 2016!!
But when do you think it will actually get cold enough for them to start to question??

George Orwell, not Orson Welles!
Perhaps because I remember being young and foolish myself, I feel a little more hopeful that many of the young people will pick up a bit of wisdom with age.
Not that I’m optimistic; I put the cause down to something a bit more out of our control than the media or schools or whatever. The behaviour of masses of people is about as changeable and unpredictable as the weather.

You have some hope then. That is good.

It is not going to work to try to explain, to the masses, why the AGW theory is wrong in the framework of physics. The BEST way is to convince them of the SCAM (GORE et al.) and show them (the perpatrators of the SCAM) up for the charlatans they are. Where the SCAM came from and WHY it is being pushed. DUMP the UN AND the EU bureaucrats who are un-elected buffoons who want to tell us how to live and what to eat what to do where to work.
60
There are dangers with the Yellow Vests, most obviously the various kinds of infiltration they’re open to. Also, there are globalist factions who would be happy to see an end to Macron’s globalist faction if it meant the end of the Fifth Republic and a return to weaker, but by no means smaller, national government. Despite the obvious failings of the EU, now fraying at both ends and rotting in the middle, the globalists still want the dissolution of nations states, no matter the cost. To some, the more bolshie and Jacobin of the globalists, civil strife is a quicker way.
One thing globalists, whatever the faction or flavour, have in common is the perpetual need for scripts, plots and stunts. (We see it here with the GeeUppers.) Those things make up the only element in which they feel comfortable. Perhaps they see independent thought and action as weakness or inferiority.
I’m guessing that overall most globalists see the Yellow Vests more as a threat than an opportunity. The stifling of news coverage is evidence of that. Many years ago it never occurred to authoritarians they could make the greatest events appear or disappear simply by controlling enough media. Vietnam and Biafra stayed up front of the news, no matter how drunk the journos or how biased the media barons. Now war, plague and famine can be taken away or brought back as if they were seasonal series of reality shows.
So, according to CNN and the rest of the slave media, the Yellow Vests (remember them?) are just tedious. We need to hear about Anna and that thick smudge of gold glitter on her right cheek. The fate of a school-day for hundreds of kids hangs in the balance.
I wonder. What are the chances that police will be instructed to aim their rubber bullets high at the kids’ heads?
200
The school kids are showing just how good their brainwashing into the modern equivalent of the brown shirts is, except this time it is the green shirts.
The Gilet Jaunes on the other hand are determined people that are standing for the people’s rights that are being eroded by the UN and their merchant bankers backers. You saw it in Australia with the Goldman Sachs puppet you had as PM and all the damage he did that makes money for his bankster bosses. We have one of them here in France as president. He was an investment banker with Rothschild & Cie and later became managing director there.

Many years ago when I was managing director of a company that was a subsidiary of a publicly listed company a Rhodes Scholar and very well educated executive phoned me and following an exchange of greetings he said that he wanted to ask my advice on various matters, and explained that his wife and suggested that he talked to me because I am “a man of the world”.
During my adult life, particularly as I matured and gained experience, I often noted that very few professionals I have met are worldly and I have no doubt at all that the climate change hoax is widely accepted because no thought goes into questioning it.

I should have included that I am not a tradesman but my son is and is a carpenter/builder, he does not accept the man made global warming caused by carbon dioxide hoax and when we discuss the latest news about it, including RET related news, he has commented that the trades people he works with are not fooled. They all work outdoors unlike people in air conditioned offices and other premises and know what normal summer temperature range is.
They understand that solar and wind turbines are unreliable energy sources.
A coupled of years ago my son worked on converting four inner city apartments into two townhouses, the two clients wanted solar electricity to look after the environment. The electrician explained the facts to them and confirmed he would have no problem handling the installation but advised against it for a number of reasons including that in his opinion it would not be cost effective. The clients ignored that advice.
There can be no doubt that there are two working worlds at least and that people who used their hands and their brains are from the practical world.

Its called middle class Jelly Syndrome – the bulk of the middle class lives in is a jelly ( jello ) world – they have no real contact with the real world like manual workers do, and exist in this squishy ever moving & changing space that is squeezed and moulded by leftist social media, politicians, kids homework and govt handouts…..
People like tradies who are in the real world will call out nonsense very quickly, because nonsense can get you killed or injured on a work site.
As such, if a non-mainstream, belief will get you laughed at or villified ( via social media ) in “jelly world”, and there is no obvious means of anonymity ( coz they were dim and signed up to social media with their real names! ) then they will conform. And if the pollies beat the drums and demand thier kids march off to war, they will kowtow for fear of being given a yellow feather or worse, villified on social media….
I like going camping and meeting people who also go. Life fo them is usually straight forward, and despite myself having been raised in a semi-jelly world ( we had a robust household where nothing was off the table for debate , and boy it got robust at times…), I like the no-nonsense approach to things.

Dennis,
Observationally, I agree. Some of my most gifted friends, mostly older than me and many now gone, were hard pressed by even the most simple tasks that many of us do automatically. A top rheumatologist asking my wife if one could buy flowers his wife comb his hair because he had never picked up the knack (or, embarrassingly, having a male friend like me to help him when away from wife). A high-level spinster scientist who confessed she did not know what ‘balls’ were on a man. I have example after example of such naive conduct. I do not regard it as bad, just naive. But I do agree with you that it can contribute to the efficiency of communication and transmission of learning. Geoff
70
Geoff, one of my experiences was a wife who was visiting family that had a birds eye view of a railway line in the valley below the house. She made a comment about a passing electric train regarding where the electricity comes from to power it. She spent her high school life travelling on electric trains. When I pointed to the overhead wires she expressed surprise and replied that she thought the wires stopped the train from tipping off the rails.
70
Good grief! As a child in Reading in England I knew the overhead wires powered the trollybuses we travelled on to school! Also that there were trains in parts of the country that did likewise.
I hated the stinky, noisy diesel buses that replaced our beloved trollybuses.
30
Dennis, having worked in several universities for decades I can relate to what you say. Without doubt two of the dumbest people I met had been Rhodes Scholars in their youth.
111
That’s because adults now want to act like kids while kids want to act like adults. As I said before the whole world is walking blind folded towards the edge of a cliff. Soon they will be running towards it. Be ready for the daddy of all financial crashes coming soon in the next 10 years or so.
130
I admire you.
I find maintaining friends under such circumstances nigh on impossible.

Yes the media is disastrous but it’s not just the media. The global warming movement has infiltrated every aspect of life whether that is our schools, our politicians ,our universities, our religions our civil service, our major companies. I’m fascinated when spokesmen for BHP , or AGL or the liberal party or Shell or the business council or bird watching society espouse anti fossil fuel messages. These people haven’t turned up at these places by accident. They have taken on responsibility to sabotage from within. There is nothing more deflating for a skeptic like myself to hear what should be conservative associations rant about global warming. In Victoria and NSW the state Liberal parties are as bad if not worse than Labor on global warming with NSW wanting a zero emissions target. These parties have allowed themselves to be manipulated to supporting these ruinous traitors agenda. Turnbulls rise to power was totally planned. These warmists are desperate to succeed and it is only public rebellion that can stop them which is what is happening with yellow shirts and Trump in the US. In fact not a day goes by when I don’t thank God for Trump because without him we would’ve passed the global warming tipping point where the destruction of society as we know it would’ve become inevitable.
The 15 years of indoctrination of our children , a process not dissimilar to Hitler youth means that the reprogramming of a generation is still required to completely resolve this issue . We need power prices to continue to rise, and blackouts to become more frequent to hit home to the jo average citizen who doesn’t realise that the global warming movement is going to lead to the exact opposite of what they claim. Under them there is a bleak future for our kids.1984 should be compulsory reading for our students ,not an inconvenient truth if you want them to understand where the world is heading.
Global warming alarmism is the greatest moral issue of our time.
230
Zigmaster,
Your mention of “spokesman” is timely. Yesterday while driving and scanning the radio a conversation was started that involved a business representative.
A woman from the Australian Minerals Council, the chief executive officer, was being interviewed on the position held by that organisation on the urgent need to build next generation HELE coal fired power generators to replace the now ageing fleet of standard plants.
She would not say yes, it’s a good idea. Instead she spent 10 minutes avoiding the issue by saying that the Minerals Council has a policy of using mixed generation involving renewables and coal.
This organisation is playing the political game obviously with Gloucester and Adani in mind.
It was frightening to listen to because it illustrates the restrictions being put on businesses that are the backbone of Australia’s continued functioning.

Agreed.
I have spent a lot fo time de-proghramming my daughter fro rabid anti trump tosh thats pedalled at schools.
Here is a test for everyone – ask you kids what they think of Trump. Then ask them why they think that way. If they become glassy eyed, you have soem work to do – your kids have been brainwashed by the Left. Act now or lose them.
With regards the mexico border wall – I had to go back to basics and explain about why they want to build a border wall and that its based on the need to keep the population safe, and advice is given by people who work in intelligence and other agencies advising *any* president. It made an impact, I have a ways to go, but dont every apologize or back off.

“Lest you doubt that, consider yesterday’s request by the Reporters Committee for the Freedom of the Press and various other parties to file an amicus brief on the merits of the case – that’s to say, on the danger Michael E Mann’s victory would pose for the “right to freedom of speech and of the press”. Those supporting our side in this battle include not only the chaps you might expect, such as Fox News, but an awful lot you might not – including NBC, The Washington Post and the ACLU. Because they all recognize the threat that Mann poses to a free society in demanding the courts adjudicate public-policy disputes.”

Mann still at it? Will never forget this: Hide the decline – satire on global warming alarmists Given they are still at it proves there is a much more powerful evil force behind them for protection. Otherwise they would all be in prison for life by now.

Speaking of pointless activities….
I’m all for the arts, but a dance to protest a non existant issue?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-02-15/indigenous-and-indian-performers-unite-kwongkan-perth-festival/10809716
“A group of Indigenous Australian and Indian artists has been on a three-year, cross-country journey to create Kwongkan, a dance theatre performance set to have its world premiere at Perth Festival.
“Kwongkan is a collaboration between WA’s Ochre Contemporary Dance Company and India’s Daksha Sheth Dance Company and is a protest against climate change.
“Creator and director Mark Howett described it as a call to action.
“People connected to sacred lands are at the forefront of the impact of climate change,” Howett said.”

It’s not about CLIMATE CHANGE nor the WEATHER.
It’s about the destruction of the West as we know it. The only question that needs to be answered is who is/are the main driving force(s) behind it all? I think most of us already know, and it’s not just the left and SJWs who are simply the foot soldiers.

The Australian Union Movement did not break their traditional relationship with the Labor Party just for fun, the objective is to control our nation via a single party government after destroying the Liberal-National Coalition. After a “corporate style takeover” what should be called Union Labor Inc replaced many Labor MPs in safe seats with union trained executives, Bill Shorten for example. And they fund GetUp (also funded by foreigners) which was established via the AWU when Shorten was a senior executive (and he was later a GetUp Director), and now Opposition Leader in the Federal Parliament.
From the website StopTurnbull the history timeline reveals his relationships within Union Labor and Greens spanning decades before he became a Federal MP. It explains his desire to form a republic and to rewrite the Constitution which he has described as a badly flawed document. Well of course he would say that because constitutional law stands in the way of globalism ambitions, unless politicians in the majority agree to ignore it when signing UN Treaties and implementing them. Opposition Leader Shorten has confirmed that Union Labor would hold a plebiscite on a republic if elected to government this year. The last referendum was defeated by a significant margin of voters opposed to it.
Right now Turnbull & Son are supporting candidates for election as Independents, they are being assisted by GetUp and one opposing former PM Abbott in his electorate has Green Tim Flannery advising her. They are targeting real centre-right Liberal MPs who have not fallen into line behind the Turnbull left side (Black Hand Faction). Bill Shorten has hinted that Labor will direct their candidate’s preferences to those Independents.
The Wentworth by election in Turnbull’s old seat was won by an Independent, a medical practitioner (Dr Phelps) who was an Independent Councillor at City of Sydney Council, deputy to Green Independent Mayor Clover Moore. Phelps won Wentworth with less than 30 per cent of the primary vote and many preferences directed to her from an unusually large number of candidates including Labor and Green.
The in public not together associates are preparing to create that single party government if they can.

I hear they have people high up in the military. Get ready for full blown communism.

I have it on good authority that quite a few people high up are into witchcraft and Sharmanism. If so, the covert war on Christianity makes a lot of sense.
90
I understand, but don’t quote me, there are people high up in the military.
50
One of the weird things is, I know for certain powerful people in the oz military and politics are involved in a form of occult practices.
20
Now if you’d said, “full blown Democrat”.
I’m sure Roy F would have immediately thought of Bill.
But that wasn’t what you said.
50
Turnbull, ALWAYS a slimy underhanded piece of anti-human.
NEVER an Australia Liberal.
171
I think your right on the money Denis!
Are you aware of this type or level of Machiavellian skullduggery happening in elections before or are we seeing something new here??
40
Not a new tactic Col, I am more aware of New South Wales politics than the other States and I know the history of the so called Independent MPs that pretended to negotiate with the Abbott led Opposition in 2010 when Labor were forced by a hung parliament result to recruit alliance partners to form government. Two of them, of three that pretended to negotiate and used that charade to try and embarrass Opposition Leader Abbott, Windsor and Oakeshott, MPs for New England and Lyne electorate in NSW, who campaigned for election as Independent former members of the National Party, conservatives and trustworthy for voters. With preferences directed to them by the Labor & Greens, and campaign assistance from Union controlled Labor at least, if not Greens as well.
They were earlier Independent MLAs for the State seats and had been known to support the Labor Government. In more recent years it has been revealed that Labor Cabinet Minister Obeid (now in a NSW prison) had recruited and looked after Independents in seats Labor could not win and another Independent, Torbay MLA, was the go between. He resigned suddenly and left NSW Parliament when the Independent Commission Against Corruption named him as a person of interest.
However, as I wrote earlier, it is clear that the “takeover” of Labor by the Union Movement and entry into Federal Parliament by Turnbull, and his determination to get rid of the Coalition, the timing is too convenient to be a coincidence. And the history since and conclusion resulting in PM Turnbull refusing to face a leadership vote, resigning and retiring late in 2018 and then supporting Independents standing against the centre right real Liberals he could not get on his side suggests that he and his Union controlled Labor/Greens mates have triggered their control plan.

The gilet jaunes are beginning a movement to a political grouping for this may’s euro elections. This is a shame but once again demonstrates how poisonous le Pen’s father made the FN. Renaming the Party to FR is not going to help. I hope the antiglobalists in the UK, france, Holland, Belgium and germany along with the Italians of course, can unite to fill the euro parlement (the dumas) with antiEU MEPs.

AOC (Alexandra Ocaisio-Cortez) explains it all. Now we’re being led by the children. I’ve seen it asserted that they;e our hope for the future. AOC is the living proof. And since they already know everything I think it’s time to save the billions we spend on schools and close them all down. K through Post Graduate work is costing us dearly and apparently unnecessarily.
130
Or maybe not A good spanking might solve the problem.
Whadda ya think? Of course you wouldn’t necessarily spank the children, would you?

That she was elected is frightening.
One of my doctors is from Romania. She can tell you chapter and verse why our young AOC will fail and that corruption worse than ever will be the only winner.
70
Great logic there Roy.
Why have an education when even young kids have intuitive understanding of the power of “rising up from victimhood”.
Then with a bigger kid as leader, AOC, the world’s your oyster.
It worked for AOC, it must work for everyone else.

Well she wants to rebuild every building in america and would be required to effectively build railways across oceans coz we cant fly….and abolish farting cows.
I’m not making this up.
“Once again the outspoken and ludicrous, arrogant, immature, Ocasio Cortez spouts off with her mouth on her Green New Deal which is so outlandish that it sounds like someone on drugs in their wildest imaginations yet her fellow Dems go right along with her like she’s some messiah spouting futuristic truths that can be worked out with a snap of a finger and she wants it all done in 10 years. When asked once how would you pay for it she responded, “Just pay for it like everything else”. She also suggested taxing the rich up to 70-90% without thinking about the consequences that would cause.”
“Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who announced a sweeping “Green New Deal” on Thursday that promises to render air travel obsolete, get rid of flatulent cows and ensure economic security for everyone in less than a decade.
“The Green New Deal which Ocasio-Cortez put forth included a series of outrageous claims. The most astounding ones of all cited providing economic aid to individuals who are “unwilling to work,” reconstructing all buildings in the United States, and doing away with air travel. Additionally, the release referenced “farting cows” and took a considerable stance against nuclear power. Suffice it to say, the Green New Deal release was a complete and utter mess.
“At some point, the staff who works for Ocasio-Cortez realized this and removed the release from her webpage. Ocasio-Cortez is infamous for her gaffes and silly statements which loudly evidence her inexperience and lack of qualifications to serve in Congress.
“This imbecile wants to get rid of farting cows as part of her green deal and every person has a job with security, medical leave and vacations among other very juvenile ideas like doing away with gas cars and everyone has an electric car with charging stations everywhere.
As writer and commentator Rich Lowery said in his excellent article in the New York Post.
“The Green New Deal calls for a top-down revolution in the operation of American society so sweeping that it would be disturbing if it weren’t so wholly ridiculous. It shows all the thoughtfulness of a college sophomore pulling an all-nighter to write a term paper for his Millennial Socialism 101 class.”

What’s the problem? The rich have lots of stuff and the the rest have no stuff so stuff the rich and give it to the poor.

As I’ve said before.
A cow farts and/or belch far less carbon than it takes in as food.
The rest is converted to meat as part of the carbon cycle
A cow is CARBON NEUTRAL !!

Trouble absorbing abstract information
Tendency to focus on details, which may result in missing “the bigger picture”

More concerning is the triple immunity from any critical examination of her message provided by the fact she is female, young and trying to “save the planet”.
Her TED Talk in Stockholm has blatant untruths, “no one talks about Climate Change” “we aren’t spending money on it”. Perhaps her autism adds another layer of protection although she herself is quite aware of her condition. https://www.democracynow.org/2018/12/11/meet_the_15_year_old_swedish

The left leaning news outlets like RT, and Democracy Now! have been giving almost daily coverage to the Yellow Vests, mostly positive. They’ve been very keen to link it back to the Occupy protests

No wonder you have such an ignorant and WARPED view of the world if that is the sort of self-opinionated garbage you listen to!
“They’ve been very keen to link it back to the Occupy protests”
Trying to link what is essentially a PEOPLE’s rebellion against unwarranted carbon taxation to a far-left trash whinge (occupy) is about all you would expect.

Typical Frenchmen and women, but lets not get bogged down in colour, what do the people think?
‘After around three months of Yellow Jacket protests, 56 percent of those questioned in a survey by pollster Elabe for BFMTV, published Wednesday, think the movement should stop mobilizing people to take to the streets — an increase of 11 percentage points from a month earlier.’
Politico
30
Not in the real world are you. First, only French men, now let’s not use colour. Lolz
22
The French have a history of this sort of behaviour and a majority of those polled think they should quit, having achieved their initial demands. What do you think?
20
i don’t think they have achieved their initial demands. This was never solely about a tax on fuel, that was just the spark. This has always been about the stagnant wages, the bonus culture in management, the endless austerity. YOur have the 1% doing quite nicely, and the rest? They can rot. This is what the yellow vests are about.
34
Why do you pretend to be one of the 1%, pfutz.

Peter is a supporter of the left faction, who seek equality of opportunity and a living wage. The draconian green tax was the spark which ignited the revolt, but I doubt very much whether these workers have a clue about climate change.

New Solar Farm Development Application Shines A light on Jobs
A DEVELOPMENT application to construct a large solar power plant at Harlin in the Somerset region, has today been given the green light by Council.
Somerset Regional Council conditionally approved the 1500 megawatt farm to be constructed over two stages on a 2,055 hectare site east of Harlin on the D’Aguilar Highway.
The facility is proposed to be staffed seven days per week with up to 60 permanent staff. During construction, this solar farm has the potential to create up to 200 jobs.
Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann said the solar farm, once completed, would be Australia’s largest.
“This was a complex development application put together by Ethos Urban planning consultants, who have been involved in other large infrastructure projects throughout Australia, on behalf of Sunshine Energy Australia Pty Ltd,” Cr Lehmann said.
“This application has been referred to various government departments and agencies for their input and Council approved the development in line with our planning scheme which allows for such developments in rural areas.”
Cr Lehmann said Council had taken into account concerns raised by submitters during the public consultation phase and had addressed these concerns, where possible, by implementing conditions on the development application to offset these.
“For example, where residents were concerned about the solar farm being seen from the D’Aguilar Highway, we’ve requested that trees be planted along the fenceline,” he said.
“We’ve also increased offsets and stipulated that solar panels cannot be installed within 100 metres of a neighbouring property.
“We have also requested that a year after construction and operation that developers review the impact of glare and if there is an impact on neighbouring properties that additional trees be planted or the tinting of windows is to occur.
“Further, Council has conditioned the development application so that no solar panels can be installed in the flood plain.
“These are just some of the conditions we’ve placed on the developers to ensure we’re addressing the concerns of residents, where possible.”
Cr Lehmann said it was important for residents to remember that these types of proposals provide an opportunity to capitalise on an emerging market for renewable energy sources.
It is anticipated that construction of the solar farm will start mid-2019, will take up to three years to complete and be completed over two stages.

210
“That is for her to know and you to guess”
70
Capriciogenesis?

Why does geegee bother posting always empty comments ?
52
Andy, this post isn’t empty, it’s full of good stuff.
We are told that 1850 is supposedly the starting date for us humans to have begun : “global warming”.
An interesting start point to choose, you could almost say it was homogenized.
This is a look at the “quantitative” possibility of man made CO2 being a Force for evil: it uses the start date of 1850.
Every “Climate Scientists” presentation I have seen tells lies by omission.
For example we are told that “Carbon Dioxide will blah, blah, blah ….. and if CO2 doubles then … blah, blah, blah ”.
They will Never separate out the Human effect of CO2 from the Total CO2 effect.
They will never acknowledge the presence of water vapour in the air because as a Green House Gas it wipes the floor with CO2.
So, I felt it important to give examples of how the CO2 we produce really influences the climate and will use a very
concrete example of a real measured period from our recent past.
————————————————————————————————–
With apologies to Rudyard Kipling.
IF
Active Carbon Dioxide Distribution is:
a. 98% of Earths ( active ) CO2 is dissolved in the oceans.
b. 2% of Earths ( active ) CO2 is in the atmosphere.
c. 97% of atmospheric CO2 is of Natural Origin.
d. 3% of atmospheric CO2 is Human attributable.
And
e. Atmospheric H2O is about 95% of the total greenhouse effect.
It would seem then that if we want to control CO2 levels we need to control three items:
1. The oceans and 2. Water vapour 3. Natural CO2 emissions.
Logically the Atmospheric CO2 and Ocean origin CO2 interaction needs serious study and Human CO2 emissions are rendered insignificant by the sheer weight of the Water GHG effect and natural origin CO2.
So the Total GHG effect is
1. Water about 95%
2. Total CO2 about 4% of GHG effect
3. Human proportion of CO2 is 3% of the above 4% or, from another viewpoint, 0.12 % of all GHG effect.
IF
If world atmospheric temperature rose by 0.6 C degrees over the last 150 years from 1860 (maybe).
And if Greenhouse gases are the only cause of this rise (very debateable).
And if human origin CO2 is to be taken into account.
THEN.
Our part of the world’s green house gas effect is 0.0009 C degrees of the temperature rise of 0.6 C degrees.
(calculated as a min). (Approx 0.0016 C max)
The rest is nature.
Likewise we are responsible for 0.0048 mm (max) of the annual 3mm ocean increase.
Over 100 years WE would cause 0.48 mm sea rise.
Holy Crap Batman.
We’ve been had by the IPCC, WWF and many politicians.
The “revelation” above is simply confirmation of the real science.
When you quantify the “Green House” ( if I can use that term) effects:
• we have a major winner in Water
• followed by Natural produced CO2
• and way behind both in magnitude, Human Related CO2 struggling to make any visible impression on the system.
So CCS and Carbon Abatement, Carbon Footprint, Responsible Energy and other catchphrases of the Church of AGW may now be consigned to
the sin bin where they belong.
ps.
Also because of the log effect of CO2 we humans will provide even less bang for the buck when next the atmospheric CO2 increases
by the same amount as from 1850 to now. (if there was any actual increase after the fudging is removed.
KK
91
It’s certainly full of something
Atmospheric C02 has gone from 300 pmm in the 60’s to 400 today. All of that is Anthropogenic, and it’s not 3% but closer to 30%
216
“All of that is Anthropogenic”
Total and absolute anti-science bulls**t, pfutz
Are you saying that the natural warming has not invigorated ocean outflow of CO2 (Henry’s law)
Are you saying that parts of the Earth that have warmed do not produce more CO2?
Are you really that brain-washed and ignorant?
Did you not say you studied biology or something. FAILED !!!!
Humans produce some 3% of the total CO2 emissions, and with sinks increasing, nearly all of that gets absorbed back into the carbon cycle as it expands.
Peer reviewed papers say 10-15% contribution to the increase MAXIMUM.
Anyway, increased atmospheric CO2 is absolutely and completely beneficial to the world’s biosphere.
As you are well aware, there is absolutely NO downside to increased atmospheric CO2.
And if you really believe your own LIES, then consider that there are some 1000+ new coal fired power stations being built worldwide, with an increase in human emissions of some 40-45% continuing over many decades.
And guess what..
There is absolutely NOTHING your anti-science yabbering can do about it. 🙂 🙂 🙂
92
PF – In answer to your supposed 30% Co2 increase due to us evil humans which is bunkum.

“Proponents of human induced warming and climate change told us that an increase in CO2 precedes and causes temperature increases. They were wrong. They told us the late 20th century was the warmest on record. They were wrong. They told us, using the infamous “hockey stick” graph, the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) did not exist. They were wrong. They told us global temperatures would increase through 2008 as CO2 increased. They were wrong.”
“So the pre-industrial level is at least 50 ppm higher than the level put into the computer models that produce all future climate predictions. The models also incorrectly assume uniform atmospheric global distribution and virtually no variability of CO2 from year to year.
Beck found, “Since 1812, the CO2 concentration in northern hemispheric air has fluctuated exhibiting three high level maxima around 1825, 1857 and 1942 the latter showing more than 400 ppm.” Here is a plot from Beck comparing 19th century readings with ice core and Mauna Loa data.”

All the LOLZ,

a summary with links from wikipedia (which you will immediately disparage)

111
lol, pfutz thinks volcanoes are the only natural source of CO2.. WOW. dumb, or what !!!!!
If people choose to ignore the massively increased contribution by the biosphere, not my problem.
And wiki.. whatever, use at your own peril. !
You could of course go to the far-left EPA
51
As I said, pfutz, you can choose to “believe” that humans are contibuting all of the increase,
Suits me. 🙂
Than means that atmospheric CO2 levels will continue to increase rapidly for at least several more decades.
Over 1000 new coal fired power stations, 40-50% increase in human emitted CO2.
And there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING you can do about it except sob into your pillow. 🙂 🙂
31
I win, you have nothing, loser
17
From the Spencer link, a great graph.

It seems harmless enough.
30
“you have nothing”
Say Ms EVIDENCE-FREE, himself.
So funny !
So sadly pathetic.
It HURTS you so much to know that all your yabbering is for nought.
It accomplished nothing.
LOTS of extra atmospheric COP2 for all the world’s plant life.
You LOSE.. always, pfutz.
31
COP2.. that was a long time ago.
As far as halting atmospheric CO2m, haven’t they been a waste of time and jet fuel. !!
Correcting typo from above” COP2 = CO2 = gas of ALL LIFE on the planet,…
and destined to continue to increase for at least another half century.
SMILE, pfutz. 😉
51
“It seems harmless enough.”
As 250ppm is the base-level for most plant growth, and 280ppm is basically just above bare subsistence level…
I’d say that the planet has just missed out on a fate close to death.
Whatever caused that rise in atmospheric CO2………….
THANK GOODNESS. !!
61
‘I’d say that the planet has just missed out on a fate close to death.’
Yep, the evidence is conclusive, the industrial revolution has been a boon in so many ways.
It came as a surprise to see there was no CO2 outgassing from the oceans 1000 years ago.
20
Never mind the
bollocksknow-it-all kids, know-it-all media, know-it-all UN experts: here in the Shaky Isles, “Mount Maunganui residents have launched a rebellion against Tauranga City Council over a controversial $2.5 million park.” Rebellion?https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/382541/mt-maunganui-ratepayers-battle-disappointing-2-point-5-million-park
“The 55 parking spaces that made up the Phoenix Carpark on Maunganui Rd were concreted over to create what the council calls an open, urban space… Many have mistaken the space for a skatepark but, over the New Year break, the council spent $1500 on security guards to keep skateboarders out. It has since decided skaters would be welcome as long as they behaved… the council told people it planned to create the park, asked for opinions, was met with significant opposition, and still went ahead with its planned park”. Sounds like adult (council) misbehaviour to me. Emphasis [bold] mine.
“No-one asked for this. It’s just a big grey space and what the hell do you use that for except skateboarding?” Skateboarders are stoked! Residents are off to buy some yellow vests…
50
I agree with AOC.
It’s totally not acceptable that those who go to work, pay rates and are adults should think that they know more than local councillors.
Just think of all the mini skateparks that will be available soon when the wind turbines become obsolete.
It’s easy to remove the superstructure to send back to China but the bases are too expensive to remove.
Skateparks is the obvious solution.
60
archeologists of the future will wax lyrical about ancient technologies.
squillions of concrete mounds with obvious fixings for superstructure long since decayed.
traces of copper silicon and neodymium will confound them.
an unknown civilization probably existed way back before the electricity went off.
They’ll dig tunnels and discover the tunnels of prehistoric times
vast cities of tilt-slabs buried beneath the sands
and curious sedimentation spattered with traces of lithium salts.
30
Well, if there is a conspiracy it is led by the rich since they are the ones who remain untouched so far.
The vests have achieved most of their aims apart from reintroducing a tax on the rich. They still want more certainty on containing fuel prices which I think is motivating them still.
And yes, the left leaning press is happily covering the protest since it is driven by people who they see as theirs. I see the msm just reducing the coverage in line with the fact that there are fewer protesters, less aggro at protests, and a lack of interest in the topic from the news consumers.
Oh yeah and the elite conspiracy.
610
At lot of Confusogenesis there.
Les G’s are about keeping the Elites off their backs, understandably most poor people prefer freedom to the current situation.
I understand that le Macron made a secret trip to New York to meet and get advice from our own MalEx444 on how to handle le riff raff.
A staffer said that the wives got on well.
Rumours were also rife that MalEx444 was very annoyed that he could not command the title of M. Le President like his visitor.
Perhaps next year: look how quickly Venezuela has “transitioned”.

Sure they will. However, you and I won’t be able book a commercial flight or drive a personal vehicle. We won’t even be able to ride a horse or own livestock.
In feudal societies owning things was rather exclusive. Back to the future……..

Now how will the media handle this?

I bet that is also UNTRUE = FAKE. Of course her mother is linked to GREEN parties in Belgium.
Her mother should STOP using her daughter to push the ‘DIRTY AGENDA’! CRIMINAL behavior. Arrest them for ECO-FR@UD

This is ageism with a capital A!
If it were racism the left media would be up in arms. Ageism is just a few minutes away from euthanasia and a whole bunch of really dark thinking.
We no longer live in interesting times we live in very scary times.
80
Don’t worry, there are enough baby boomers operating to bring about a revolution.
40
I haven’t read all the replies yet…
In a similar vein, we hear much about protests in Venezuela, but nothing about anti-government, anti-corruption protests in Haiti, despite the fact thousands are protesting, their are riots and looting, and at least 6 people have been killed.
Have you even heard this is happening?
Also interesting that the US hasn’t decided that Macron is “oppressing” the French yet, and therefore the US needs to invade… for the freedom of the oppressed, of course.
50
Well do I remember protesting the Vietnam war back in the day. Mind you as a 17 year old, the prospect of conscription was a great driving force. In those days, 18 year old could be sent to war, but were not allowed to vote.
Robert Rosicka, might also remember the historic school strike conducted in 1972.
Of course, in those days the same arguments were put forward, and had about the same effect.
This will be a worldwide school strike, the yellow vests are limited to France and Belgium at present.
18
Skipping a school day to praise Gaia is not quite the same as the Vietnam war tragedy.
70
I would suggest that to a 17 year old, it may seem more important, which is why this is a world wide movement
111
The propaganda and brain-washing is very strong
Virtue signalling is what students are now taught to do.
Science, maths.. not so much…
.. otherwise they would have figured out what a scientific sham the whole “climate science™” belief structure really is.
Like you, the youths of today seem to have missed out on essential parts of their education.
122
We were told that it was hippies, leftist teachers, or hippy leftist teachers – they were brainwashing us. See I told you – the same tired arguments.
112
You have no arguments, pfutz.
You are EMPTY.
Stick to your virtue signalling, little child.
Best if you continue to leave science and rational thought out of it.
72
Of course AndyG55, I look forward to your worldwide counter protest
37
Still EMPTY, I see. pfutz.
No Evidence, just yapping like a little teenage girl.
You ought to go on the march with them. Be with your equals.
51
what no call to arms? no silly children Andyg55 is ina da house, he will lead you to the righteous path, via the sweet sweet beats of hip hop!
36
Send us a pic of you on the little girl’s march, pfutz.
32
Ahhhhhh….but that would mean it has to change its crusty undies before it ascends from the putrid depths of its internet connected bunker and into the light….and then actually do something other than wait for its “Rapid Abusive Post” mode to be triggered by some well meaning interlocutor. 🙂
And he’s no messiah……..just a very naughty..thing on the net.
41
Now zero-evidence phlip pokes his diminutive cranium out of his hole.
So funny to think they can gang up on me.
Are you going on the little girl’s march too, Phlip ?
I can just see the three of you skipping along merrily hand in hand.
EMPTY glazed eyes and all.
31
AngryG55……..have you ever thought that maybe your repeated interest in a “little girls march”, is just a touch beyond your normal level of creepy??
11
pfutz is the one promoting it.
Talk to him about “creepy”
… and do at least try to follow the conversation, petal.
10
I would suggest that to a 17 year old, it may seem more important, which is why this is a world wide movement
212
how did that happen?
010
This is the problem. A 17 year old is significantly more likely to not understand the ramifications. It may seem important to rally an army of 17 Y.O. militant protesters but imagine how that will turn out.
Generation upon generation of cultures revere and respect their elders. Attempting to alter this tradition by convincing themselves that we elders are destroying the planet is dangerously revolutionary besides being a lie.
60
I heard that one back in the day as well. The Vietnam protesters were right to protest then, and these young adults are right to protest now.
29
Sorry no. The war was real.
70
Being forced to fight it, while being unable to vote was the main issue. The 17 year olds today feel that they will be forced to deal with a problem, which like CFG’s could have been sorted long ago. So they would claim equallivance.
28
You claim equivalence on their behalf you aren’t 17 or even young. These two are not equivalent bullets and bombs are real and deadly. AGW even if true is likely not deadly. You as an adult should be counseling this fact not supporting their folly.
Because you support them you are aiding and abetting. Interesting to see if they get themselves riled up enough to riot. At that point you are potentially a criminal.
40
That’s a bit disingenuous, and an example of using that excuse now you’re in your mid to late 60s. At that time, voting was not even mentioned as an issue, and in fact would have been the last thing on their minds, because, after all, you couldn’t vote anyway in those days until you were 21. I registered to vote two days after my 21st, and two years later Gough lowered the age to 18 and cancelled Conscription, so it was never an issue for 17 year olds any more.
I knew plenty of those Vietnam protestors, and the voting thing was not even a thought. As soon as their birthday was not in the ballot, they immediately stopped protesting. One thing that it did engender, was a detestation of anyone who actually was in the military. Now, years later, it’s trendy to give lip service saying how they honour those who served, and those still serving, but in their heart of hearts, they have no respect at all.
Tony.
70
Point well made Tony. I was one of those conscripted. I never resented it.
61
You would have found a way to get out of it pfutz.
Pretending is what you are good at. !
61
i’ll Stack the thousands of protesters, against the few mates of TonyfromOz any day.
By the way TonyfromOz, Gee Aye and myself are waiting for you to castigate AndyG55, for the same offences you castigated myself for.
110
I see TonyfromOz will only defend his fellow travellers. In my world that is a description of a Hypocrite.

Poor pfutz.. playing the “VICTIM”, yet again
Someone please find him a “safe space”, and a new nappy.
41
Peter Fitzroy made a correct statement.
In actions on a subject that requires the backing of reason, they have only feelings to defend their cause.

The brainwashing has gone on long enough.

Not too much in the greens to wash.
20
“The Italian deputy PM personally went and met with the yellow vests and invited them to Rome. ” Also the Italians are fed up with Macron and his policies in quite a number of areas.
70
Possibly worried about the appearance of ropes hanging from bridges?
50
And the frog ambassador was immediately recalled. Macron has swindled rural France and created an implacable foe against which his only face saving recourse is abdication but he has too little gumption to adopt it. His memoirs will be hilarious.
50
Scaring the daylights out of school children is child abuse.
60
Funny thing is if the y told the reverse (truth) they (kids) would believe that too, unfortunately THEY dont follow that route.
40
The saying “children should be seen and not heard” was there for a very good reason – and nothing has changed. Except perhaps, with a dumbed-down education system, there is even more reason for children not to be heard.
51
After thinking about it I beg to differ. The government is the problem as Ronald Reagan said so many times. It’s just that now, with so many ways of almost instant communication the media and government have almost merged.
30
On 22 June 1988, the summer solstice, when James Hansen and Al Gore opened the windows at the top of the room in Congress to make everyone sweat when James announced warming, not cooling was the greatest imminent threat, none of these children were born. Many of their parents were not born or even out of primary school. This is the second generation of people being taught the Climate Global Warming religion invented by Hansen and Gore. How many people have PhDs in Global Warming now? Too bad for them that it is science rubbish, but they need deprogramming.
Nobel Prize winner, Vice President and nearly President Gore is a billionaire now. Hansen is also world famous. By any estimate they did well. Now we are all suffering from Climate Change as Delingpole’s Profiteers of Doom rake in the cash and whole governments direct trillions of dollars of our money and hundreds of thousands of people to solving a non problem. A conference on the problem attracts 30,000 people who fly in, take limousines, fill restaurants and do Climate business.
Where in all of this is there any science or morality or truth? None that I can find. It is perhaps the greatest missed opportunity of the human race. If only those trillions were directed to mastering fusion, we would have had infinite energy. Now we just have useless windmills.
70
Perhaps half of those windmills will need replacement in the next ten years. Is that why they call them renewables?
70
Then there are the caring Green governments of Tasmania and South Australia who have moved to diesel to keep the lights on, especially for public servants. Worse in every respect than coal, I read Tasmanians are paying $11Million a month for diesels. Then when coal is free for Australians, we are importing diesel from overseas and if we run out, everything stops.
Our useless submarines will run on diesel and the shipyard bought big diesels just to ensure power for the factory given that the State cannot supply reliable cheap power. How are our diesel submarines going to get diesel?
Never in the history of Australia have governments cared so little for their people. We have become utterly dependent on imported windmills, diesel, spare parts, technology while our domestic manufacturing is collapsing with the world’s highest energy costs. Exactly where our enemies want us.
All because we have taught two generations of children something which is not true. We are all going to drown at the beach. Except it’s not true.
61
“Perhaps half of those windmills will need replacement in the next ten years”
And the subsidies have all but dried up.
I wonder how many rotting corpses of wind turbines will be left to litter the landscape, to be removed at taxpayer expense.
81
The RET will expire in 2030 at about the same time that the current crop of wind farms will be at or beyond its serviceable limit and the technology will be abruptly abandoned since it is only through the certificate wheeze that the return on investment for the generators, who are effectively paid twice for their sporadically produced electricity, is so irresistible.
Once the RET is gone the impracticality of wind power will be manifest and people will openly talk with scorn of the impossibility of harnessing a force which varies as the cube of wind speed. As to solar farms there’ll be none operating in twelve years and people will talk with scorn of the impossibility of utilizing power which is only available in quantity for the four hours a day when demand is minimal.
Still by then twelve year olds may have the vote and there’ll be another generation of indoctrinated urchins to contend with; it’s going to be a long decade.
40
The media IS the problem, is the problem, is the problem, is the problem, is the problem, is the problem.
Can’t have the people knowing the facts, they might make the right decision.
51
However Roy does have a point.
30
If you don’t read the newspapers, you are uniformed, if you read the newspapers you are misinformed
53
And pfutz is both.
32
He only reads the comics and the “social” section.
42
Surely Mr Twain deserves attribution.
30
meant to post this before now; but this is the thread for it. it’s all tricks. read carefully. the yellow vests are fine with the ever-increasing carbon taxes, provided the money is used for CAGW policies! lol:
25 Jan: EurActiv: France reopens carbon tax debate that fuelled ‘yellow vest’ protests
By Cécile Barbière; translated by Rob Kirby
The ‘yellow vest’ movement showed that French people will reject the carbon tax if the proceeds are not allocated to the energy transition. But the government seems reluctant to acknowledge this. EURACTIV France reports (LINK).
François de Rugy, the French Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, put ecological taxation back on the table at the inaugural session of the European energy transition conferences taking place in Dunkirk on 22-24 January.
De Rugy raised the matter of the French carbon tax, which was put on hold in late 2018 in an attempt to stem the ‘yellow vest’ movement.
Adopted in 2013, the Contribution Climat-Énergie – or carbon tax – sets a price per tonne of CO2 emitted, which increases year on year.
Because it raised the cost of fuel, the carbon tax was the starting point of the ‘yellow vest’ protests…
The carbon tax remains “one of the most important and effective levers” for mitigating climate change, de Rugy stressed. This is why the pause on increasing the tax conceded by the government should not continue indefinitely, he argued.
“Yes, we took a pause in light of the ‘yellow vest’ demonstrations,” the minister admitted. But the rate of change is what’s up for discussion, not the principle of the tax, he stressed…
A slower increase of around 1 or 2 cents could be envisioned in the future, the minister said.
The issue will be raised again as part of the “Great National Debate” launched by the French government on 15 January.
“The question of the rise in carbon tax will be raised at the #GreatDebate. We have to provide French people with answers on the level, rhythm and application of the formula for the #EcologicalTransition. I propose that local representatives discuss the implications for territories,” de Rugy tweeted…
Beyond the tax’s rate of increase, a pressing question for the government is how funds generated by the tax will be allocated in the future. Only a part of the funds is currently dedicated to the energy transition, an issue which has to be reviewed as a matter of priority, according to local elected representatives.
Currently, only a portion of the revenue from the carbon tax is allocated to the energy transition. This includes support for converting vehicles, which mobilised €600 million last year.
***But the numbers do not add up, and a significant amount of the €9 billion in revenue generated by the tax, in fact, ***goes to the general budget of the state.
“People are willing to pay dedicated taxes,” said Pierre-Jean Crastes, deputy chair of regional cooperation assembly of Grand Genève, a cross-border agglomeration between France and Switzerland.
“They agree, on the condition that there is no suspicion that part of the tax is used to pay for something other than the ecological transition, for example for property tax exemptions,” he explained.
Transparency in how the revenue from the tax is allocated is a central pillar of how acceptable this green taxation is, believed Chantal Jouanno, chair of the French national committee for public debate (CNDP).
“It’s about the first necessary element, trust, because it is clear that this carbon tax is not predominantly used to fund the energy transition,” the former French state secretary for ecology said…
“The energy transition is regarded as a social injustice. Particularly fuel taxation, which targets rural and semi-rural people,” Jouanno explained. “In its conclusions in June, the public debate already indicated the risk of a revolt over taxation,” she added.
Another tax matter criticised by citizens, who were consulted for the major debate on the PPE, was the low taxation of “big polluters” compared to citizens. Indeed, the French carbon tax provides for a string of exceptions, ranging from agriculture to aviation and maritime transport.
Moreover, this covers the most polluting industries, which are already taxed under the European carbon market, where the price for CO2 is much lower…
Taxing businesses in France could drive them to relocate in low-tax countries like China where production will generate much greater CO2 emissions, warned de Rugy, citing the example of the steel industry…
For local elected representatives, the French government’s intentions regarding the carbon tax raises questions. “Part of the ecological taxation has to be allocated to local projects,” insisted Anne Walryck, president of the Bordeaux Métropole area. ***“But I have felt an openness to taxes being allocated [to the ecological transition],” she added.

it’s all about so-called “green finance”:
read the links too:
14 Feb: EurActiv: The beacon of sustainable finance in Europe must not lose its flame
By Catherine Howarth, ShareAction
One year after the High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance released its final report, the follow up on its recommendations is lagging somewhat behind, writes Catherine Howarth.
Catherine Howarth is the chief executive at ShareAction, a non-profit organisation working to make the investment system a force for good.
It’s been exactly a year since the HLEG released its Final Report (LINK). The long-awaited recommendations were well received and highlighted the critical role of public policy in shifting capital flows to support the ambitions of the Paris Agreement and Agenda 2030.
A few short months later, the European Commission released its Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth (LINK) and soon after released the three legislative proposals that have shaped the progression of work since then, covering the disclosure of sustainability risks, a pan-European taxonomy to classify environmentally friendly activities, and low-carbon benchmarks.
The year since has brought with it tangible progress: the European Parliament is currently discussing amendments to the taxonomy that could see the introduction of stronger human rights safeguards for environmentally-friendly activities, as ShareAction and others have called for, while the final stages of negotiations on the Disclosure Regulation could secure reporting on sustainability risks for mainstream products, not just those in the green niche…
However, other HLEG proposals are lagging somewhat behind. The work on investors’ duties, which covers a whole set of recommendations as to how sustainability risks should be integrated in investment decisions is one example…
***While retail clients’ preferences have gained relative prominence, provisions for consulting with beneficiaries of occupational pension funds on their views have lost steam. The need to assess savers’ financial and non-financial interests and preferences, and align investment objectives with these, as originally called for by the HLEG, is potentially slipping from grasp.
Much more than the Taxonomy, which is focused on ***green finance, reform of investors’ duties would present an opportunity to build a more democratic and accountable financial system in Europe. That opportunity should not be passed up…
Is the EU’s work merely about improving the “sustainable” segment of the market by introducing cross-cutting anti-greenwashing tools, or is it, more ambitiously, about achieving a systemic shift of capital from brown assets to green?…
The Commission’s recently announced plans for a new Unit on Sustainable Finance and Fintech, as well as its plans to link sustainable finance to wider policy objectives, are very encouraging signs.
One thing is certain. European civil society is playing an ever more important role in sustaining the HLEG’s ambitions. This month, NGOs from the European Responsible Investment Network will gather with policy-makers and investors in Brussels to articulate the case for a financial system ***that supports a safe climate and social justice.
As we navigate intense political uncertainties, the beacon of sustainable finance in Europe must burn bright now and long into the future.

9 Feb: UK Express: MACRON THREAT: France unveils Brexit bank snatch to make Paris Europe’s financial centre
EMMANUEL Macron has unveiled plans to make Paris Europe’s biggest financial centre, snatching talent from London’s prosperous banking sector after Brexit. London finances around 40 to 50 percent of the continent’s financial services and Mr Macron is hoping to take some of the spoils for France.
By Nicole Stinson; Additional reporting by Monika Pallenberg
The French President plans to lure global banks from the City of London to Paris after Brexit, Mr Macron’s minister of finance and economy has revealed.
Bruno Le Maire said Mr Macron’s sights are on JP Morgan, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs, which all have offices in London.
Mr Le Maire said: “It is one of our goals to make Paris the largest financial centre in Europe.
“JP Morgan, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs want to expand their French offices. France wants to play a key role in the important ***green finance.”…
The news comes after Angela Merkel revealed she had her eyes on luring business away from London after Brexit.
The German Chancellor made the pledge as part of a desperate deal to stitch together a German coalition government with Martin Schulz’s left-wing Social Democrats yesterday.
A draft of the coalition agreement states: “In light of the upcoming withdrawal of the UK from the EU we are going to make Germany more attractive for financial institutions.”

14 Feb: ClimateChangeNews: ‘If not us, who?’ Failure of representation drives youth climate strike
As a movement grows across the world, young people say they want politicians to protect their interests
By Natalie Sauer
It had been a day for grown-ups to show climate leadership.
On a cold 25 January, Germany’s coal commission gathered at the federal ministry for economic affairs and energy in Berlin to decide the future of coal in the country. Outside, armed with signs, stood an estimated 5,000 students.
Fridays for Future (F4F), the student-led movement for school strikes for climate on Friday, had announced their plans to demonstrate weeks ago. Peter Altmaier, the minister of economic affairs and energy, had asked whether he could address the rally – in vain. Instead, Altmaier had to content himself with a meeting with three representatives, Luisa Neubauer, Jakob Blasen and Carla Reemtsma, shoehorned before the start of the demonstration.
“We asked him what age he’d be in 2050,” Merle Tennie, a 20-year old F4F organiser from Munich, told Climate Home News, “He was like: ‘yeah, maybe I won’t be alive any more!’” (Altmaier was born in 1958). “So we’re like: ‘okay, that’s the problem! You have to realise that you can’t be so short-sighted.’”…
All of the students CHN interviewed spoke about the influence of Swedish 16-year old Greta Thunberg, whose pigtails and determined air have become a globally recognised figure in recent months. Thunberg first started to skip school in September. Every Friday, she sat in front of the parliament in Stockholm to demand that her country meet its Paris goals. At first alone, until journalists took an interest in her…
Thunberg, who has Aspergers syndrome, frequently says that her condition has led her to view the world in black and white, making it easier for her to draw the battlelines on climate policy. “Either we prevent 1.5C of warming or we don’t,” she told the gathering in Davos in a widely circulated speech in January “Either we choose to go on as a civilisation or we don’t. There are no grey areas when it comes to survival.”
The same goes for much of her generation, Bonnet says. “For young people it’s much easier to see things in black and white. Either we save the world and we stop the climate crisis, or we don’t. Seeing how slowly everything moves in politics, you think: ‘If not us, who?’”…
In addition, while students interviewed by CHN showed sympathy towards civil disobedience groups such as Extinction Rebellion, most did not want to participate. 17-year old Sara Henssen, from Dusseldorf, Germany, “really admire[s] what they’re trying to do” but doesn’t “want to go full-on right now when I’m still 17″.
School strikers also fiercely defend the grassroots nature of their movement, amid claims that they are being manipulated by green groups. One of Belgium’s environment ministers, Joke Schauvliege, said that the national secret services had told her that the strikes were a “setup” and not “spontaneous actions of solidarity with our climate”. Schauvliege eventually stepped down after confessing the intelligence services had told her no such thing.
Meanwhile, 13-year old school striker Alexandria Villasenor ridiculed an article by Britain’s Daily Mail that alleged that young people had been brainwashed by “green militants” into skipping school…
***Fifteen-year old George Bond, from Dorset, UK, admits Greenpeace has helped the group with press strategy. But “they’re just offering us advice and support as they do to many smaller movements”, he says. In Germany, Tennie says that F4F has rejected invitations to collaborate with the anti-coal group Ende Gelände (Land’s End), opting instead to inform students of its events…

have read suggestions over time that Greta Thunberg is somehow under the influence of Potsdam’s “climate catastrophist” Stefan Rahmstorf.
following might tell a tale or two:
TWEET: Stefan Rahmstorf (replying to Greta tweet/PIC):
Great post Greta! Don’t get distracted by attacks, falsehoods and attempts to discredit you. Any outspoken climate scientist has experienced those. They come from people too immature to deal with inconvenient truths. Since they have no good arguments they attack you as a person.

23 Jan: TheArtOfAnnihilation Blog: The Manufacturing of Greta Thunberg – for Consent: The Political Economy of the Non-Profit Industrial Complex [PART I]
The Manufacturing of Greta Thunberg – for Consent has been written in five acts.
ACT I – Greta Thunberg, the current child prodigy and face of the youth movement to combat climate change, serves as special youth advisor and trustee to the burgeoning mainstream tech start-up, “We Don’t Have Time”.
ACT II – In this act we illustrate how today’s youth are the sacrificial lambs for the ruling elite. Also in this act we introduce the board members and advisors to “We Don’t Have Time.” We explore the leadership in the nascent We Don’t Have Time and the partnerships between the well established corporate environmental entities: Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, 350.org, Avaaz, Global Utmaning (Global Challenge), the World Bank, and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
ACT III – Here, we deconstruct how Al Gore and the planets most powerful capitalists are behind today’s manufactured youth movements and why. We explore the We Don’t Have Time/Thunberg connections to Our Revolution, the Sanders Institute, This Is Zero Hour, the Sunrise Movement and the Green New Deal…READ ON

just briefly saw front page of The Weekend Australian on Sky News – one article headlined:
“HEAT ON BOM OVER RECORDS REWRITE”
think that’s the exact wording. looked on The Australian Facebook page, but can’t see it, and can’t find it otherwise, but the FB page has:
53min ago: Global energy giant Shell will start selling household batteries direct to Australian consumers

One way to squelch that little protest would be to cut the heating in the classrooms to give the little darlings a chance to experience what colder climate actually means.

Implication is so entrenched in the main stream media to such an extent that an explicit stance on a contentious issue is never needed nor taken.
Core Western values, individualism, libertarian/freedom, capitalism/free market, are rarely directly or explicitly attacked by the media, but are indeed implied as the roots of evil of our civilization. Any person demonstrating support of such values, in response, is usually subjected to an ad homian barrage.
And so the media sow the seeds.

10 Feb: TheLocalSweden: Startup founder hits back at ‘eco-profeteering’ criticism: ‘It’s not money which is driving me’
The founder of the green social network startup We Don’t Have Time has hit back at press claims that he used his links to teen activist Greta Thunberg to raise millions of kronor.
In an interview with The Local, Ingmar Rentzhog insisted that the climate crisis, not profit, was his driving motive and that he remained on good terms with Greta Thunberg and her parents.
Laika Consulting, the investment relations company he sold after launching the environmental startup, had brought in much more a month than the 60,000 kronor monthly salary he now earns from his startup, he said.
“If my interest were to earn money, I should have stayed in my old company, because this is much, much higher risk. It’s not money which is driving me.”
Rentzhog said it was “unfortunate” that Saturday’s article in the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper had given the impression that he was in a dispute with Greta Thunberg, who formerly served on a youth advisory board for the foundation that is the main owner of the company.
“We didn’t inform the Thunberg family that her role in the organization would mean that we would have to write her name in our business prospectus,” he admitted. (You can read the prospectus here).
“We’ve said that we’re sorry for that and they have accepted that. It’s not so dramatic at all actually.”
Thunberg did not leave the board because of any sort of clash, but because she no longer had time for it, he claimed…
The company has written a Q&A in English clarifying its relationship with Thunberg, and also issued a press release in English.
The Svenska Dagbladet article criticized Rentzhog for the for-profit business model he is using to expand his network, as well as raising his background in banking and investor relations.
But Rentzhog told The Local that he had initially started the business not to chase a commercial opportunity, but because of his shock at the election of Donald Trump.
“It was surreal to see this leader holding up a sign saying ‘we’re going to build more coal’, and I thought ‘oh sh*t, what is happening to the world?’,” he said. “I realized that there will never be a world leader who will solve the climate crisis for us: change must come from the people.”…
Ultimately, he added, the organization also hopes to work with the Nobel Foundation to create a Nobel Prize for the Environment.
It was wrong, he said, to suggest that he had brought Thunberg on board primarily to help him raise funds…

9 Feb: TheLocalSweden: Start-up used teen climate activist to raise millions: Swedish paper
Ingmar Rentzhog, founder of We Don’t Have Time, asked Thunberg in October if she wanted to sit a Youth Advisory Board for his social media start-up We Don’t Have Time, which she accepted.
He then used her more than eleven times in the promotional material for a share issue announced on November 27.
The prospectus promised investors that the venture, which channels just 10 percent of its profits to a charitable fund, has potential to be “extremely profitable” by creating viral environmental content to pull in money via digital adverts…
On the same day that Thunberg started her school strike last August, he came with a freelance photographer, posting her photo on his Facebook page and Instagram account, and making a video in English that he posted on the company’s YouTube channel…
the 120-page prospectus, the company makes a claim to have discovered Thunberg…

Guardian/BBC – what a pair of ?
15 Feb: Guardian: Extinction Rebellion and Victoria Beckham: what to expect from London fashion week
This weekend’s showcase promises to be eventful. Big-name designers will be making a welcome return, but sustainability protesters are planning to cause major disruption
by Scarlett Conlon
London fashion week, starting today, is shaping up to be the most eventful in recent years and it is not confined to the catwalk. On Sunday, the direct-action group Extinction Rebellion – which hit the headlines last year as they blocked five bridges over the Thames to protest against the government’s approach on climate change – intends to “swarm the streets calling on the industry to wake up to the climate and ecological crisis and use its influence to help to create a just and sustainable world”.
Its plan – for which it is encouraging attendees to “dress as though you are going to the most glamorous funeral” – is to disrupt the fashion event, rather than target specific shows. Clare Farrell, a lecturer in sustainable fashion and one of the founders of the group, told the Guardian: “The situation we are in, as a planet, is not the fault of London fashion week – but it is part of the problem”…
Already the event has a heavy focus on sustainability. Mother of Pearl designer Amy Powney has partnered with BBC Earth to launch an awareness campaign over the weekend with the view to starting “a movement similar to that of Blue Planet II”, referring to the raised awareness of micro-plastics. As well as hosting a series of talks that will bring together BBC broadcasters and fashion industry experts to discuss how positive change can be made, the designer will also unveil a film made using footage shot by the BBC Natural History Unit. The short, which is narrated by the TV presenter Liz Bonnin (who is mooted to be David Attenborough’s successor), will look at ways the industry can stop harming the planet.
“The main message is simply to introduce to the nation that fashion is having an alarming impact on our planet and to promote positive solutions that we can all adopt,” says Powney, who is also launching a sustainable collection in collaboration with BBC Earth…
The five-day showcase will be the last major UK fashion platform before the country’s post-Brexit future is decided. In January, the BFC already gave its backing to the People’s Vote, saying: “A no deal situation will result in no transition period, and with an industry that is predominantly SMEs, we would struggle to cope with the trade realities that it would bring.” …
