All power to you. However I fear that warmists will latch on to your last paragraph and call it an echo chamber for deniers.

If I were in Perth I would have attended, so I hope there will be a digest or proceedings coming out of these meetings so we can all participate or at least hear what went on.

This will support David’s theme on power
At last a model of Australia’s power options that’s takes into account the major factors that influence the total system performance, reliability, emissions and costs, in both short and long term, together with a totally transparent process of the methodology, parameters and variables used. Produced by the ENGINEERING organisation Electric Power Consulting Pty Ltd.
      https://epc.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/ReliableAffordableElectricPowerGeneration_Booklet.pdf
Six cases are included ranging from the present status 85% fossil fuel at $69 and emissions of 0.83T/MWh to the Greens 100% RE at $416 and zero emissions MWh.

I trust our Energy Minister has received a copy.

Somehow I suspect the only coverage the ABC will give this will be the Pink Haired SJW MeToo ers & the AntiFa/ GetUp-ers.

Australia needs a reprise of Norman Gunston/ Lawrie Jackson-Jackson to do a bit of “on the spot” reporting.

The dearth of non leftard comedy in this country is one of the reasons they, the real clowns, have credibility.

However, if Federal politics was not SO pathetic & criminally dangerous, it would be funny.

It is time for Australians to wake up. Make no mistake. This is a silent war with the lunatic and evil left. More people need to be made aware how close to a collapse the West is. I still think we won’t survive but we dare not at least try a good fight. Sitting back and doing nothing is not an option.

PeterS – if this were to be believed, Australians are more gullible than ever!

2GB news bulletin this morning claimed – WITHOUT naming who did the survey/poll – that 80 percent of Australians put climate action and the economy at the top of their concerns (or words to that effect).
you would think that would be easily found in an online search. however, I’v given up. this is the best I have found. can’t find the survey on the JWS Research website, so can’t say this is even what was being referred to on 2GB:

2 Mar: The Australian: AAP: Voters worried about health, immigration
It also reveals confidence in all levels of government and business has gone down since Malcolm Turnbull was dumped as prime minister in August last year.
A poll of 1000 voters released by JWS Research on Saturday shows voters are mainly concerned with health, hospitals, immigration and the environment…

The report found Australians spontaneously mention issues with heavy media attention such as immigration and border security, the environment and climate change as top concerns, but when prompted with a list of issues, cost of living is their second-most pressing concern behind health.
The poll was conducted from February 21 to 25 with 1000 people from around Australia.
      https://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/latest-news/voters-worried-about-health-immigration/news-story/dbc0cd0746599a7d4996729d046d5962

1 Mar: AFR: Voters more upbeat, but they’re not thanking the government
      by Phillip Coorey
The latest quarterly True Issues survey by JWS Research shows that since November, the cost of living has slipped from first to second as the issue voters feel should be the government’s prime focus…
The latest survey finds the top six priorities for voters are, in order, health, cost of living, employment and wages, immigration and border security, the economy and finances and the environment.
Yet the six issues for which they (FEDERAL GOVT) receive the worst performance rating are the environment, health, agriculture and regional development, energy, cost of living and vision, leadership and quality of government…

The latest survey also asked people to list their own priorities without prompting.
This still saw health and hospitals come first, followed by immigration and border security, and the environment and climate change. The cost of living came in at seventh.
Mr Scales said recent public debate about border protection and climate policy had elevated the issues in the public conscience. Borders are a strength for the Coalition, and the environment and climate works in Labor’s favour…

        List your priorities:

        1. More black jelly beans in lolly packets intended for the very young.
        2. More mistreatment of cute kittens and wallaby joeys.
        3. Saving the world from climate catastrophe.

It’s amazing that 20% still thought being nasty to small animals and continuing to push those black jellybeans were more urgent than saving the planet. Need to word the next push poll more craftily…

Pat I do not know how aware most Australians are. All I know is too many are already brain dead. I will know more once we see the results of the elections. If ALP+Greens win it convinces me most Australians are pretty much brain dead and a crash and burn scenario is locked in. If it’s a hung parliament or LNP wins then there is still some hope for us to avoid a crash and burn provided the LNP don’t go brain dead as well. I suspect they will but there is always hope and it’s too early to tell what Morrison is going to do in the longer run. A lot is at stake yet there is so much uncertainty. This is not where a nation such as ours should be. We should be a booming nation yet all I see is small businesses closing down, cost of living escalating and the very rich getting richer who are in a tiny minority while the rest are going backwards. It can’t go on much longer. Something has to break. When it does it won’t be pretty.

All you need to know about global warming fraud is in the movie Runaway Jury which I enjoyed more than once.
Everything is good: actors, director, music, set up, plot … wait a minute !
You can replace evil gun manufacturer with evil church leader, mining magnate or Tony Abbot – and all means are fair to bring them down.
You are allowed to bribe, cheat, hack state computer network, create false identity, manipulate judges & jury and the audience sympathy will be with you.

That movie is not the worse example, 9 out of 10 latest ones seem to be made at the same factory. It just offends me that world-class professionals are used so blatantly.

In fact, I nominate The Happening as #1 film in the category Human Hate.

27 Feb: TheAge: Letters: Climate change: It was a joke to them, now the PM is serious?
Jill Dumsday, Ashburton: Schools must prepare students for a hotter world
Congratulations to weather presenters ***Jane Bunn (SEVEN NEWS) and Paul Higgins (ABC) for signing on to Monash University’s climate communication program. They quietly, and without hype, educate viewers about trends in rainfall and temperature that signal climate change.

School curricula could well copy this “softly softly” approach by including climate education across the board. Trusted “presenters”, i.e. teachers, would get the message across to students so that they understand the effects of burning fossil fuels. They would then not be confronted with this fearsome new knowledge as adults when their lives are so complex that change is too hard.

Rather, they would be empowered to tackle change backed up by up-to-date knowledge about their world gained over the 13 years spent at school. Such an approach by schools would set up new mindsets among the next generation that may give them the creative edge they will need to survive in a hotter world…

David Blair, Healesville: Time-wasting Coalition has had its chance
It’s time Scott Morrison realised climate change is not just an environmental issue (Comment, 26/2), but one that affects the whole economy. Heatwaves, drought, fires, cyclones and floods may be weather events of the environment, but they have an impact on a wide range of businesses and services from food production and tourism to transport systems, as well as directly impacting on people’s health and the destruction of their houses.

We need much stronger targets and greater action on climate change. Far from being “a wrecking ball through the economy”, failure to act is by far the most economically irresponsible action as it places the whole country at high risk of multiple catastrophes. The Coalition has wasted too many years blocking action and obfuscating already, it’s time to get out of the way…

Jo’s humour is her greatest weapon.
just as it is for Trump – who BBC reported this morning was ANGRY at CPAC:

2 Mar: TheInquisitr: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez A ‘Pompous Little Twit,’ Per Greenpeace Co-Founder; Trump Also Mocks Green New Deal
    by Nicholas Morine
During the Conservative Political Action Conference today, President Trump mocked the Green New Deal, per Fox News (LINK), going so far as to suggest that the Democrats should run with it in order to improve his own electoral future.

“New Green Deal or whatever the hell they call it… I encourage it. I think it’s really something Democrats should promote. No planes. No energy. When the wind stops blowing, that’s the end of your electric.” Trump took a moment to mimic a man staring skyward before continuing his comical critique. “Darling, is the wind blowing today? I’d like to watch television, darling.”

Trump’s criticism of the Green New Deal drew grand applause from those attending CPAC, and fit in with the casual yet ribald tone of his lengthy address…

Lively criticism of the Green New Deal also came from a man who now calls himself the “Sensible Environmentalist.” Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, left very little to the imagination when he took to Twitter to excoriate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over her full-throated endorsement of the sweeping plan — one which he says would eventually lead to “mass death.”

    TWEET: Patrick Moore:
Pompous little twit. You don’t have a plan to grow food for 8 billion people without fossil fuels, or get the food into the cities. Horses? If fossil fuels were banned every tree in the world would be cut down for fuel for cooking and heating. You would bring about mass death.
    23 Feb 2019

Despite Patrick Moore having a relatively modest social media following on Twitter, his acerbic words for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez drew nearly 7,000 likes in somewhat short order…

Upon being informed by a Twitter follower that it was regrettable that “AOC” would have her voice heard to a much greater magnitude than his, Moore replied in equally blunt fashion.
“It won’t be long until she is exposed for the pompous know-nothing she is. Then again, that may work in her favour!!”…

2 Mar: Major weekend winter storm packing heavy snow begins 2,500-mile cross-country sprint
    by Doug Stanglin, USA Today
By Sunday morning, some parts of the northern Plains could see wind chills nearing 55 degrees below zero. A few spots could see all-time record cold temperatures for March, the weather service predicted.
The weather service calls the cold “dangerous.” In portions of Montana, this will be the coldest temperatures of the entire winter season as actual temperatures dip to 40 below. The level of cold will also be more typical of late-January than early March.

Minneapolis could see a high temperature of only 2 degrees on Sunday.
Near-freezing temperatures will then spread as far south as Florida by early next week…

2 Mar: KPAX: Weather Forecast: Bitterly cold temperatures Sunday through Tuesday
    by Meteorologist Lewis Dortch
Wind chill warnings and advisories have been issued for all of western Montana tonight through Sunday morning. Wind chill values will range anywhere from 20-40 degrees below zero and 50 degrees below zero for areas along the Divide…
This means dry but bitterly cold temperatures are expected through Tuesday with the coldest temperatures being felt waking up Monday morning…

2 Mar: WTMJ Milwaukee: Dangerous wind chills close to 30 below to begin workweek
    By Elissia Wilson
Near-record cold, with wind chills at 20 degrees below zero to 30 below zero, is forecast to start the week in the Milwaukee area…

1 Mar: WaPo: Ian Livingston: A brutal Arctic air mass is about to take over the United States
Temperatures as much as 30 to 50 degrees below normal are entering the Northern Plains as we close out the workweek. Through the weekend, brutal conditions you might expect in a frigid January overtake the central portion of the country, from the Mexican to the Canadian borders.

Heading into the first full week of March, Arctic air takes up residence in the East as well. When it’s all done, most of the contiguous United States will endure a punishing blow of frigid air from this Arctic blast. Records for cold are likely to be most numerous in the north-central United States but will extend from coast to coast.

By March, many folks are searching for spring. For the time being, it will be hard to find. Some of the coldest air in the Northern Hemisphere is headed into the Lower 48.
“It’s a straight shot from the Arctic!” tweeted Steve Glazier of Weather Nation…

    an anomaly at The Guardian!

2 Mar: Guardian: Why Donald Trump could win again
    by Dave Eggers (author)
In El Paso, on the US’s southern border, at Trump’s first campaign-style rally of 2019, two people unfurled the flag of the Soviet Union…
I was outside in the parking lot, with about seven thousand others, shivering in the frigid desert night. Inside, Trump was winding down his speech and people were leaving. Suddenly there was a commotion at the exit. A pair of young people wearing black were hurrying out of the building, holding the large Soviet flag, being chased by a pack – a posse – of cowboys…

They ran after the Soviet flag-bearers, trying to grab it and in that way – I presume – sap it of its awesome power. But the communist sympathisers were fast and crafty. They weaved through the crowd with alacrity, while the cowboys moved awkwardly, their cowboy boots a bit too stiff and their pants a bit too snug…

It was a spectacle at the end of a long night, and it briefly enlivened the crowd outside – who showed up too late to get a spot inside the warm Coliseum and thus had to watch Trump’s speech on a giant screen in the cold…

El Paso’s population is 80% Hispanic, and is considered a Democratic stronghold. The city’s most famous politician is Beto O’Rourke, the former congressman who unsuccessfully ran for Senate against Ted Cruz –but in the process gained a national following and has been considered a viable candidate for president. O’Rourke is young – 46 – and eloquent, and has the kind of charisma that brings to mind JFK and RFK and Obama. With his thick salt-and-pepper hair and lanky athleticism, he looks like he’s fallen from a bough of the Kennedy tree. He had decided to hold a counter-rally directly coinciding with Trump’s speech…

But how to explain that about half of Trump’s audience that night in El Paso were people of colour, most of them Latino? How to explain the fact that Trump attracted 15,000 supporters to his rally, while O’Rourke garnered only 4,000 people to his event, held in his hometown, on the same evening?…

As the day went on, I stood at the corner of Paisano and Shelter, where the rally-goers had to pass on their way to get in line outside the Coliseum, and the crowds arriving defied all expectations. There were Latino families. There were African Americans. There were biracial couples. Young South Asians and Pacific Islanders. About half of the people rushing to get in the long line that stretched far down Paisano were people of colour. A good third of them were under 30…

Today in El Paso, nothing was more unexpected than the startling diversity of the crowd that came out…

When O’Rourke spoke, he was eloquent and passionate about American immigration and the unique ways that El Paso has historically coexisted with Mexico…
Periodically he translated his own speech into Spanish, and though he spoke beautifully to a rapt audience, and though his case was utterly convincing, the verdict of the night had already been made, and O’Rourke had lost. Across the street, Trump had come to O’Rourke’s backyard and had attracted a crowd at least four times larger. And when O’Rourke was finished, and his audience had left the field, Trump was still going strong at the Coliseum…

I ran from the O’Rourke event back to the Trump rally, and before I got to the Coliseum parking lot, I caught Trump saying “Remember, it’s America first!” to huge applause. The cheering lasted as long as it took me to get from the far end of the parking lot to up close to the screen, after which another “USA! USA!” chant had broken out.
“Our agenda is not a partisan agenda,” he continued, “although some people say that it is. It’s a mainstream, common-sense agenda of the American people.”…

The man cheered when Trump mentioned a new Rasmussen poll had declared that his approval rating was 52%. “Fifty-two percent!” Trump said. “Explain that,” he continued. “How do you get that when you don’t get good press?” He said 93% of the stories written about him were negative. “No matter what we do, they figure out a way to make it bad.”
His speech was, like all his speeches, mesmerising. There is virtually nothing he won’t say, so when he’s off-script, there’s no way to stop watching once you begin…

And as ludicrous as these fragments seem out of context, watching the speech with what truly was an everyday and diverse group of people, I had the distinct impression that Trump could easily be re-elected…

We in the media have long seen Trump as a racist buffoon and a threat to every core democratic principle, but his supporters see him as a man who gets things done, who speaks candidly, and who has engineered an economic boom that is the envy of the world…

I joined the current of humanity leaving the Coliseum, and as we all crossed Paisano, I talked with two Kenyan men. They were dressed in sports jackets and were rushing through the cold night, police lights flashing in their faces. They said they were medical students, and supported Trump “from the start”. I asked why. “Because he’s strong!” one of the men said. I asked them if they thought Trump was a racist. After all, he’d reportedly lamented that so many immigrants were trying to come to the US from “shithole countries”, and included African nations within that group. “He’s not a racist,” one of the men said. “He’s a businessman!”

“Don’t talk to him,” the other Kenyan said, referring to me. “He’s from the liberal media.” And they laughed and picked up their pace.

      C. Pyne.. roflmao.. the talent of a mincing poodle. Crass fool.

Indeed. I personally think those leaving the Libs is great news. (Apart from the line of leftists waiting to fill their places).

But for the shopping mall crowd, as you say, they like security.

The Abbott victory was NOT because the fight against the carbon tax. It was just against a chaotic Labor Party. This will be the same reverse result.

For mine, hopefully the Aus Conservatives can get some senate space, maybe One Nation. Our grid and energy future is being destroyed with these Green tinged morons.

I’d like to ask Abbott what hope the conservative base has of taking back power. That’s our only hope on energy. This lot are as bad as the Greens. The Greens would just be a speedier death.

2 Mar: The Hill: Trump says he’ll sign executive order for free speech on college campuses

“We reject oppressive speech codes, censorship, political correctness and every other attempt by the hard left to stop people from challenging ridiculous and dangerous ideas. These ideas are dangerous,” Trump said. “Instead we believe in free speech, including online and including on campus.”
“Today I’m proud to announce that I will be very soon signing an executive order requiring colleges and universities to support free speech if they want federal ***research grants.”…

The announcement came after he brought Hayden Williams on stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Williams is a conservative activist who was punched in the face at the University of California at Berkeley last month while assisting the university’s chapter of the right-wing group Turning Point USA.
Trump threatened that refusing to abide by the executive order would impose a heavy cost on their budgets.
“If they want our dollars, and we give it to them by the billions, they’ve got to allow people like Hayden and many other great young people and old people to speak. Free speech. If they don’t, it will be very costly,” he warned…

Free speech has emerged as a chief motivator for conservatives in recent years, particularly after several prominent conservative speakers, such as right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, had events canceled at campuses across the country.
“If U.C. Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view – NO FEDERAL FUNDS?” Trump tweeted in February 2017 after an event with Yiannopoulos was canceled following clashes resulting from his invitation…

2 Mar: Washington Times: Trump says he will sign executive order to promote free speech on university campuses
    by David Sherfinski
President Trump on Saturday announced he plans to sign an executive order soon requiring colleges and universities that accept federal ***research money to support free speech rights.
Mr. Trump made the announcement at the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) after he called up onstage Hayden Williams, a conservative activist who was assaulted while on a recent recruiting trip to the University of California, Berkeley.
“If they want our dollars and we give it to them by the billions, they [have] got to allow people like Hayden and many other great young people…to speak,” the president said.

University police recently arrested a suspect after Mr. Williams was apparently punched during the incident.
“First of all, he can take a punch…that was a hell of a hard punch,” Mr. Trump said. “Ladies and gentlemen, he took a hard punch in the face for all of us and we can never allow that to happen.”
“Here’s the good news – he is going to be a very wealthy young man,” the president said.

2 Mar: ColumbianPost: Trump calls Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a ‘LUNATIC’, CPAC Bursts in LAUGHTER
“But perhaps nothing is more extreme than the Democrats plan to take over American energy, and completely destroy Americas’ economy through their new $100 trillion dollar Green New Deal…

“Under the Green New Deal, which someone described as a ‘high school term paper written by a poor student’, It’s true, it’s true — How would believe it? And it’s so bad, but the Green New Deal would completely abolish the American oil, gas, natural gas, coal and nuclear power industries, of which we are now the leader in the world, we’;re the biggest now in the world, their plan would remove every gas powered car from American roads. Oh that’s not so bad,” Trump sarcastically says as he reaches wide. The crowd laughs…

one attempt to assess the cost of the GND:

25 Feb: AmericanActionForum: The Green New Deal: Scope, Scale, and Implications
by Douglas Holtz-Eakin, Dan Bosch, Ben Gitis, Dan Goldbeck, Philip Rossetti
    Executive Summary
The Green New Deal (GND) is a sweeping policy plan setting out ambitious objectives for energy and economic policy. The breadth of its proposals makes it daunting to assess the GND using the standard tools of policy analysis. Nevertheless, this short paper is an initial foray. We have three broad conclusions:…

2 Mar: BizPacReview: Trump’s 2-hour CPAC speech was marathon of unrehearsed humor and a few salty words. He knocked it way out of the park.
    by Frieda Powers
President Donald Trump fired up the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday, hitting topics from the media to Democrats, Robert Mueller’s Russia probe and even his former officials in a raucous speech that lasted about two hours.

The president was greeted with cheers and a standing ovation as he hugged the US flag on the CPAC stage, and appeared confident, relaxed and in charge as he addressed the annual gathering of conservatives…

The bloke doing the presentation was so unusual in that he was the exact opposite of the whining harangues typically heard in an indignant accusing female voice on our ABC radio stations.
      Whew.

    CLIMATE WARS

In a galaxy not to far away.

On planet earth, the evil Empire held a meeting to consolidate their dastardly plans. The meeting was the World Government Summit, Dubai, with an agenda of crushing humanity and taking total control, with the use of climate extremism and gender balance propaganda.
To the shock of the Rebel Alliance Hans Solo (Harrison Ford) was a guest speaker on the climate apocalypse.
Is Hans under control of Darth Soros and gone across the the dark side of the force?
Or is he a Rebel spy trying to get the plans of Empires Global Warming Death Star?
    :
Meanwhile on the other side of the earth, hidden from the evil empires eyes, in the remote city of Perth, the Rebel Alliance are meeting, LibertyFest.
With plans to thwart the the empires evil agenda and destroy the Global Warming Death Star, will Princess Jo and Tony Skywalker be able to rally enough support to protect plant earth from the evil Empire?
    :
Is Darth Soros, Tony Skywalkers father?
Will Chewbacca Peterson arrive in time to save Hans?
Have I been too influence by science fiction?
    :
    Stay tuned.

The ABC are looking for “subject matter experts”, a “fresh diverse voices” and “opinion leaders”.

To help ABC viewers understand the “Climate Change Emergency”, I reckon we should nominate Jo.

Here’s the article at Michael Smith News with a link to the ABC nomination form.

Bettina Arndt is also speaking at UWA on Thursday night in an unrelated session. I am planning to make that – Independent Man mentioned it in a recent video, and he will be there. He is also lined up to speak on Saturday (in the CIS room … a room name to terrify the SJWs).

We had an article in the Daily Telegraph about the Faraday Grid which unfortunately explained next to nothing.

    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2019/03/05/meet-pioneer-mission-reinvent-britains-energy-grid

I looked up Faraday Grid patent on Google and got a lot of information that is way over my head, so is there anyone reading this who could explain what it is and how it works?

    https://patents.google.com/patent/WO2018023176A1

The originator is Australian so has he got any form in running the Australian grid system?

When you speak to the politicians, ask why the increase in resignations….maybe because of the gravy….

What a mob of thieves. All this extra money spent on this lot would be better spent on preventing the need for cost price increases in so much, like electricity,or our health care or………… I presume the numbers are correct . Cheers
    ….

Sixty elected members of the federal government have made the decision not to run in the upcoming election! This is an exceptionally high number compared to previous elections. Some of them tell us that it is for family reasons, others for their desire to serve their fellow citizens in other fields and some for other laudable reasons to make us feel for them. Methinks there might just be a more pertinent reason for this exodus.

In 2015 a change in the pension conditions for MP’s mandated that the age of full retirement for an MP, having served a minimum of all of 6 years, will no longer be 55 years but will change to 65 years as of the coming election.

This means any MP who has served 6 years or longer and is not yet 65 can still retire on the benefit from the present pension scheme entitling them to draw a government pension of over $100,000/year for the years until they are 65 as well as beyond.

For an elected MP approaching 55 who does not stand for reelection, that means $1 million that they would not receive should they
run and win again. There is also a severance premium (between $80,000 and $125,000) upon his/her departure.
Following the election date retirement and pensions will not be available until MPs attain the new retirement age.

You can now better understand all these sudden “family emergencies”, appreciate the newfound desire to advance a career in a government job or a committee of some sort and have two or more salaries (and possibly two or more pensions).

Not bad as a justification to not run . The best pension scheme designed and voted in for politicians by politicians but paid for by each of us.

Democracy, for the people by the people. I think not. Adds a new dimension doesn’t it ?
