Brazil, eighth largest economy in the world is unashamedly backing out of green schemes.
In Brazil, President Jair Bolsonaro is “dismantling” environmental agencies and missions. Brazil pulled out of hosting the 2019 U.N. climate summit, and has now canceled a United Nations climate change event that was to be held in August.
Environment Minister Ricardo Salles … said he was more interested in dealing with the problems that affect Brazilians who aren’t concerned about “climate change in Paris” or “meetings in Stockholm.”
“It’s an industry,” he said of the environmental movement. “It’s an industry of consultants, an industry of lectures, an industry of seminars.”
— Anna Jean Kaiser, Washington Post
A few days ago Bolsonaro also sacked the “militant” activist appointed by his predecessor as head of The Brazil Forum for Climate Change. I can’t think why…
[Former President] Temer appointed Alfredo Sirkis to lead the forum. Sirkis, who describes himself as a “militant environmentalist,” is a co-founder of the country’s Green Party and a former congressman, as well as a former guerilla fighter who fought against Brazil’s military dictatorship.
Sirkis told Reuters he was fired on Friday. He said the firing was probably related to the forum’s initiative to organize 12 Brazilian states to create a council on climate change that would act independently from the federal government.
— Jake Spring, Reuters, May 10
Sirkis was being paid by the government to organize a group to do exactly what the voters didn’t want.
Let’s remember how the climate skeptic won in a landslide election last October: 55 to 45
Jair Bolsonaro, a 63-year-old former paratrooper who built his campaign around pledges to crush corruption, crime and a supposed communist threat, secured 55.1% of the votes after 99.9% were counted and was therefore elected Brazil’s next president, electoral authorities said on Sunday.
“We cannot continue flirting with communism … We are going to change the destiny of Brazil,” he said.

As Australia hurtles headlong into the fastest renewables transition in the world. Bigger fish are moving out.
Eventually Australians will wake up. Perhaps the election after this one.
433
Perhaps in 2050, once we’re assured that the world is not doomed due to climate change. Australian kids will hopefully then once again become acquainted with electricity, clean water, fresh food etc.
261
By 2050 the climate tipping point will be only 10 years away. Most children will be able to see carbon dioxide emissions due to a genetic change induced by climate change.
305
What we need to do is genetically modify future children so that they can not only see CO2, but eat it as well, and that will solve the climate change problem forever. We’ll just have to think of what to convert that consumed CO2 into, so that it benefits the environment.
150
Are you sure we’ll still be here in 2050. We might be one of the extinct species.
91
Given that it took many, many, millions of years for the original dinosaurs to die out, it’ll take more than just 30 years for us conservative dinosaurs to disappear. 🙂
160
Nah, the Brazillians will repopulate the world.
Cheers

In the year 2525
30
Perhaps it’s the end of the world.
On the other hand, Satchmo reckons ‘what a wonderful world.’
30
You silly person, you can’t see CO2, that’s carbon dioxide to you and CO2 is plant food so stop beating the drum about climate change because it has never been stable. If you want to shout about something, look at the poisons they are putting in our oceans and into our rivers and stop breeding babies at this stupid level.

Some believe we only have 12 years after having received the fully scientifically backed bad news from a pimply 16 year old Swedish school girl.
This sound advice then sparked world wide reaction in the form of farm invasions, sit-ins & various other “spontaneous” protests & demonstrations aimed at completely destroying the industrialised economies of the world!
No doubt we’re supposed to believe that the beleaguered IPCC and the Globalists are not behind the funding & organisation of this “world protest” !!
Obviously BS believes in BS. (not sure which BS is the politician, but sure go well together).
230
By 2050 well be into the real LIA. THEN they might just get it!

Unlike those who bet with Sportsbet, who have paid out bets on a Labor victory. The management there can expect some rather tough times if Labor doesn’t win.

Australia needs to wake up sooner rather than later.
The NET international debt is now over AUD1tr at AUD1,082,875 at the end of 2018. That equates to AUD44k for every man.woman and child in the nation.
https://www.abs.gov.au/AUSSTATS/abs@.nsf/Lookup/5302.0Main+Features1Dec%202018?OpenDocument
Despite a trade surplus the current account continues to deteriorate. The gross international debt has doubled to AUD2,084,046m in the last ten years as we have imported nearly all manufactured goods used in the country:
https://tradingeconomics.com/australia/external-debt
Most of the debt is denominated in USD so, as the exchange rate slides, this figure spirals up despite a trading surplus in goods (predominantly coal and iron ore) and services (mostly tourism).
150
The issue is not the wke up call it’s just how people could believe it in the first place. If its just about rent seeking it would have died out long ago. Do people just want to believe in something rather than be self reliant. It seems that they know they cannot believe in themselves they need a “uniform” supplied by others.

Just read it Bill and Plimer was wrong about Malcolm Roberts and One Nation , after all they sold us out on the small engine emissions bill .
21
Our problem is the supposedly conservative side is infested with believers. The other part pays lipservice to keep unity. Not good for the rest of us. Listening to Senator Molan last night, our military are taught to question veracity of operations (surprising?) Having said that, no doubt ,question the consensus and conformity! In comparison 50% of a single foot’s worth of a vote in a full crowd of the MCG is no mandate to destroy a nation
181
The “believers” continue to be influenced by the now former PM and his Black Hand Faction followers with NSW HQ the centre of globalism. However there is now fightback highlighted for me by the campaign by Jim Molan to gain votes for him to be elected to the Senate below the line after he was given a position on the Liberal-National Senate Group that doomed him to failure. When asked about it he declined from commenting other than to say that it was a factional matter.
The 2019 Federal Election results will in my opinion bring about a rejection of climate change based economic vandalism and maybe rejecting, to quote former PM Abbott when he was the leader: “I will not stand for socialism masquerading as environmentalism”.
If Labor Greens form government the worst is yet to come.
262
I bet more people believe in Climate Change on the Liberal side than Labor. Labor don’t believe in anything except other people’s money
41
Australia versus Brazil: Brazil has woken up; Australia has a long way to go.
Australia is clearly retarded.
441
Not really, Australians are being taken for a ride by politicians who no longer believe that they represent we the people and are elected to look after our best interests.
191
Unfortunately that ride probably becomes more precipitous after Saturday.
140
The president of Brazil called their biggest trading partner a ‘predator’.
Students and lecturers are in the streets protesting cuts to the education budget, which is odd when you realise Brazil is one of the world’s largest oil exporters.

Did: Bolsonaro, Brazil, Trump, USA.
Didn’t: Bill Shorten, Richard Di Natale, IPCC, the Australian voter …
“Senator Di Natale will tell the National Press Club that history has shown the Greens can work constructively with Labor and the next parliament is a “chance to do big things again”. “
It has to be because that’s what’s required … The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) have given us less than 12 years to change course on dangerous climate change that threatens everything about our way of life,” he will say.”

As it stands now, the main difference between the globalist controlled Libs and labor , is that under Libs, bad stuff will just happen slower…..
From what I can see, the number of independents running is a direct correlation to how the average voter thinks that the 2 main “control the punters options” parties have ignored them.
And to be honest,t hey are probably right. Mind you, there are some real “out there” minor parties.
having said that, the green parties would have to be some of the most extreme, but seem to have this weird “respectability” because environment….or something…..
That said, most young things ( 18-30 ) who vote for greenist nonsense haven’t really seen real life, and know little of the deception the eco-loons have been pedalling….its all just greenist pixie dust and group hugs and “real”…..

Of course, they reckon, we have to fight climate change.

A few days ago a young electrician contractor doing some work for me was discussing air conditioning and I commented that heating will in the not too distant future be a more important function than cooling. He responded that he did not agree because there can be no doubt that every year becomes hotter than the previous year.
Too many people are influenced by the media weather reports and accept without another thought.
272
People just dont have time to stop and think Yes, just accept the media crap dished out everyday. Thats how these (green fascists) get away with it. They know 99% wont take any notice until they have total control.
201
I’d be concerned that your contractor was not bright enough to be doing his job reliably. In fact that is what I would have questioned immediately upon hearing his comment. To the point of demanding compensation for having to hire a competent contractor to check is work.
It is time we commence monetizing stupid pro AGW thought.

To the Presidents of Brazil and USA – OBRIGARDO.
100
If Brazil gets decent government with a growing population [ about 237 million in 2045, versus 32 M for Australia ] , it will become a major economic power. Some current countries are in decline, both population and stature.
That’s a big if.
100
It is about a million square km bigger than Australia IIRC.
But it has a history of giving socialism another try.
100
It says above that Brazil is already the eighth largest economy in the world, which is pretty major. They probably dominate South America economically. They certainly do in research.
120
Half the economy of South America, half the population and half the land. As big as the US or Australia in land area and with 183 million people, a huge single country, single language, single currency economy. As they move rapidly away from socialism, it will have huge impact on the rest of South America as an economic model. The collapse of Maduro’s military dictatorship would be a new start for South America. It is odd that military dictatorships are presented as ‘right wing’ when they are usually communist or socialist. Either way the rule by the people with guns takes a generation to change, as in Spain and Portugal for most of the 20th century, dooming the countries to poverty and irrelevance economically and opening them up to exploitation by the EU/UN globalists. Venezuela is just the latest disaster.
240
Possibly Trump is showing the world that democracy works economically even in a Presidential system. As opposed to the German/French models where Merkel and Macron and their minions are trampling democracy and anyone who opposes them is labelled a ‘populist’, popular as against a globalist dictator posing as a representative of the people. No one likes Macron. Merkel is on the nose.
Not since Hitler have so many governments ignored the will of the people. When they seized power, both Hitler and Lenin had under 28% support at elections. Like Maduro, once you controlled the guns and started eliminating your opposition, it was game over.
So it is now Trump, Bolsano, Orban, Salvini, Trump and even Farage against Maduro, Castro, Merkel, Macron and May. Putin is watching and playing games, but ultimately will work with anyone to make Russia great again.
260
And May will be remembered as the worst prime minister ever, eclipsing Chamberlain in trying to appease the Germans and French and ignoring the clearly expressed will of the people.
May will not resign and took the job under false pretences given Cameron resigned on his opposition to Brexit. She is a disgrace and clearly working with openly anti semite communist Corbyn to frustrate the will of the people. Britain’s own Malcolm Turnbull who tried to stitch everyone up with a secret deal with the Greens only to be outwitted, which was not difficult given his ego and total lack of political nous. By destroying his political base on the expectation of a Green preference deal, Malcolm like May had an unnecessary election and destroyed a vast majority to win by one seat, accidentally.
241
…eclipsing Chamberlain in trying to appease the Germans and French and ignoring the clearly expressed will of the people.
Fair suck of the sauce bottle to Chamberlain, in 1938 he managed to enact the clearly expressed will of the people and prevent a war. The UK population did not want to get dragged into a war. The Great War was still a vivid memory and no one wanted to go through that again if they could avoid it.
Chamberlain in 1938 avoided it and was cheered through the streets.
Also remember that in 1939 Chamberlain took the UK to war with Germany after Germany clearly demonstrated their leadership was expansionist and couldn’t be trusted. Chamberlain, for all his faults, was not someone to be fooled twice.
May on the other hand? Well don’t see anyone cheering her through the streets in the near future, unless perhaps if she is taking those streets on a one way trip into exile.
100
You have to allow for what the people were told. Malcolm Turnbull’s great uncle was head of the Labour party in 1932 and visited Adolph. He announced that Mr. Hitler was a humble Christian who had no ambitions. Lloyd George was another. Malcolm Turnbull is equally naive and born into Labor royalty but Australian Labor would not touch him. He has the same flawed judgement and beliefs. He is a rich socialist with ignorant Green beliefs.
130
And May is another well meaning and utterly incompetent dill doing real damage. Chamberlain was very sick as well and died a year later leaving Europe in flames and the British army in mortal peril. Hitler could have been stopped much earlier.
70
You are very generous toward Chambalaib, maybe unreasonably so.
There is a good argument that he told the people what they wanted to hear, rather than the increasingly obvious truth. He did not avoid a war, he merely postponed it.
Yes, people feared another Wesen Front, among them was Churchill, called a “warmonger” for arguing that in order to avoid the big war that you fear, it may be necessary fight a smaller war immediately.
60
“Chamberlain in 1938 avoided it and was cheered through the streets.”
He didn’t avoid it. He made it happen. “Peace in our time” meant he was an idiot or a liar, deceiving both the enemy and his own people. Of course he was cheered. Everyone wanted peace. To do that, you have to be prepared to fight for it. He should have resigned much earlier. May should resign, but there is no way she will.
50
Not accidentally – but by the good work of the Nationals. The Nationals gained a seat. Turnbull lost 15 of the Liberal’s seats.
Turnbull was in power courtesy of the Nationals, and hated it.
190
You need to remember that Brasil pretty well built its communication system since the 1960s. They did it with bitumen roads and diesel trucks. That caught them short in the oil crises as they didn’t have much of their own. Hence their push on fuel alcohol.
About that time they were selling lpg cylinders and firearms to OZ – buggered if I know what we were selling them. Huge industrial capacity, car plants, aircraft etc.
Since then they’ve gone deep water oil and hit a motsa – IIRC similar to Venezuela.

Yes GD I have thought about the issue of what the electorate thinks “pollution “is for some
time now and I totally agree with your conclusion. What has happened in the course of
time is that there has been a conflation of real pollution ie particulate matter.nitrous oxide and sulphur dioxide with CO2 because now somehow it is carbon pollution. So ridiculous non scientific
phrases are now part of the language like” decarbonise the economy “well that’s easily done
just get everyone to make sure they scrape-the black stuff off their toast every morning. And
this brain washing is easily carried out by science ignorant journalists of the MSM who like the majority of people have forgotten basic high school science. The problem is compounded by
“save the planet” politicians (both Labor and Liberal) the vested interests of crony capitalists like
Uber well off Cannon -Brookes,Alex Turdbull and Simon Homes with Lots of Tennis courts. With
all this in mind it becomes very easy to to turn innocuous phrases like Paris Agreement and the word Emissions into “really important “ ideas that no one must question at all!! Welll I will -that
Paris Agreement came out of a Billion dollar plus COP -where private jets and five star hotels and
restaurants were the order of the day .And Emmissions -emissions of what?? Carbon dioxide
that absolutely necessary colorless odorless gas by which photosynthesis provides the
very basis of all life on earth .Yes I find it’s all well organized brain washing with words and
the psychology of Tribal control of the electorate.

No wonder cagw etc have taken off in Oz.
I just looked at the sticker on the latest 20 l drum of lighting kerosene. This proclaims that it weighs in the range of
“16.1 t0 40 kg and is a two person lift”
Incidently it only has a :one person handle”
190
That 20 litre drum of kero only weighs 40 kg when it has to be lifted by a green left socialist snowflake.
It weigh a mere 16.1 kg when lifted by a farmer’s wife.
121
That doesn’t make sense to me either. 20L of kerosene shouldn’t be much more than 17kg, noticeably less than the 24kg range they quote.
Does an empty 20L oil drum have 16.1kg of wall material? Surely even thin rolled steel wouldn’t weigh that much?
Maybe they meant igniting the oil to provide heat and light will lift the spirits of two people? 🙂

OK – a dangerous point right here – “Moral authority” implies Leadership, but worse than that – a social/religious leadership and being “right”.
Um…no. Who died and made the UN king? Its the emporer that has no clothes….
Could it be the UN is dropping all pretenses of being peaceful, and now aggressively pursuing imposition of global socialism under the guise of eco-lunacy….
Does this means that effectively, UN “peacekeeping troops” are now climate storm troopers….? After all, they mistakenly think they have the moral “right” to do so….right?

How much sea ice has Brazil saved by cancelling the 2019 Climate Change conference. I realise that the conference will be held somewhere else so any sea ice that Brazil saved will be melted by the delegates and hangers-on travelling somewhere else, but Brazil has tried.

State fire investigators have determined that transmission lines owned by Pacific Gas & Electric Co caused the deadliest and most destructive wildfire on record in California, a blaze that killed 85 people last year, officials said on Wednesday…
The statement gave no details about findings as to precisely how the power lines sparked the flames, or whether investigators determined that PG&E was at fault for lapses in the maintenance of its equipment or vegetation clearance…

15 May: Accuweather: Rare May storm drenching California with unusually heavy rainfall
By Renee Duff
California and surrounding states will be soaked into Thursday by a major storm more typical of the winter months. Many cities could double or triple their normal precipitation for May in the span of a day or two.
Everything from rain and thunderstorms to wind and mountain snow will make for slower-than-normal travel, ruined outdoor plans and an increased risk of flooding and damage in some communities.
Rain, thunderstorms to soak San Francisco to San Diego
“This storm will bring unusually heavy rainfall and a flooding and mudslide threat to parts of California in what is normally a dry month,” said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Jack Boston…
These amounts of rainfall are extremely out of the ordinary for this time of year. With the exception of far Northern California, average precipitation for May is generally under 0.75 of an inch across the state…
The timing of the rain can lead to a nightmare Thursday morning commute in Southern California.
People living near larger burn scars and low-lying flood prone areas along creeks and streams should closely monitor water levels and follow any evacuation notices that may be issued…
Enough cold air will plunge in with the storm for heavy snow to pile up across the high-country of the Sierra, including I-80’s Donner Pass.
Snow levels will lower to 5,000-6,000 feet by Thursday night, according to Boston…
“The amazing thing is that there still may be more opportunities for rain behind this storm,” Thompson said.
Yet another storm is expected to move in this weekend, followed by a third early next week…

1 Jun 2018: LA Times: California will have water consumption limits for the first time after ‘landmark’ legislation passed
By Alejandra Reyes-Velarde
For the first time in the state’s history, California is setting permanent water-consumption goals to prepare for future droughts and climate change, with a local elected official involved in the historic move…
The laws will go into effect in January…
“A lot of us have taken water for granted, but it’s not something we can take for granted in Southern California,” Friedman said. “Climate change, drought — we need to make sure it doesn’t impact life and safety and the economic future of our state.”
Together, the two bills establish an indoor, per-person water use goal of 55 gallons per day until 2025. The limit decreases to 52.5 gallons until 2030 and 50 gallons beginning in 2030…

15 May: American Thinker: California monster El Niño storm to bring up to three feet of snow
By Chriss Street
California is being targeted by a monster El Niño storm that will bring seven days of torrential rain and up to three feet of mountain snow and may cause an Oroville Dam overflow…
The surprise storm train, coming as all four Northern California reservoirs along the Sierras are already filled to 94 percent of capacity, will require opening their spillway gates, potentially flooding valley croplands and large population centers downstream…

I am renovating my house and as far as heating and cooling is concerned I am more focused on heating than cooling given that the world is cooling.
152
The common factor for both heating and cooling is insulation and ability to control it.
For heating, let the sun in when it is cold and prevent the stored heat from leaking out when it is cold.
For cooling, let the heat out when it is cooler outside than in and prevent the heat from coming in when it is warm outside.
A well insulated house with control over light and airflow can eliminate direct heating and cooling costs in some locations in Australia.

14 May: HeraldScotland: We must face up to the fact that capitalism is killing our planet
by Neil Mackay, writer at large
THERE is one thing certain in our age of uncertainty: capitalism in its current form cannot continue. It’s eating the planet. Climate change cannot be solved without tackling the inherent problems in this late-stage malignant form of capitalism that has marked the last 40 years of history.
This is not a manifesto for Marxism – human beings need to trade, sell their labour, and accumulate wealth and property…
But the current form of capitalism which holds sway over human affairs has nothing to do with trade or entrepreneurialism, and everything to do with rampant greed and institutionalised inequality. Unbridled mass consumption and the almost suicidal glee with which industries from fashion to farming trash the planet will be our undoing…

Updated 15 May: Scotsman: Scottish minister demands ‘national endeavour’ on climate crisis
By Gina Davidson
Scots have been urged to tackle climate change as a “shared national endeavour” as the Scottish Government announced a green summit with businesses and a sweeping review of all policies.
Environment secretary, Roseanna Cunningham, said that responding to the climate emergency “must be hardwired into our national psyche” as the issue was “not just about government action”…
However, despite her pledge that climate change would “be at the core of our next Programme for Government and Spending Review”, the Scottish Greens said they would refuse to back future government budgets if financial decisions were not focused on the environment.
Campaign group Extinction Rebellion Scotland, also denounced the statement as “rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic”, and demanded the zero emissions targets to be brought forward to 2025…
A statement from Extinction Rebellion Scotland dismissed Ms Cunningham as announcing nothing more than “more consultations, summits and goals. An emergency requires an emergency response and this doesn’t even come close.”

Britain is importing a tenth of its electricity needs for the first time on record after the start of a new subsea power link with Belgium.
The Nemo link, which runs from Richborough in Kent to Zeebrugge and which started operating at the end of January, has increased the capacity of Britain’s electricity connections with mainland Europe by a third.

15 May: HeraldScotland: Campaign calls for oil workers to switch to green jobs
By Lizzie Roberts
Drilling in the North Sea must end and the highly skilled workers in the industry moved into the clean energy sector if the UK is to reach its climate commitments, a new report has warned.
According to the report, the Government should end licensing for new oil and gas fields as it could quadruple the nation’s carbon emissions

15 May: BBC: Climate Change: Squeezing North Sea dry will harm Paris targets
By Kevin Keane, BBC Scotland’s environment correspondent
Extracting all remaining oil and gas reserves would see the UK miss its climate change commitments, Friends of the Earth Scotland (FoES) has claimed…
The environmental campaign group wants governments to stop issuing licences for new oil fields and revoke permits for undeveloped ones.
In a report, called Sea Change, it also calls for a rapid phase-out of subsidies and tax breaks for exploration, and suggests that jobs created in clean energy industries could be three times the number lost in oil and gas…
Mary Church, FoES’s head of campaigns, told BBC Scotland: “Climate science is clear that we urgently need to phase out fossil fuels, yet the government and big oil companies are doing everything they can to squeeze every last drop out of the North Sea.
“To tackle the climate emergency head-on we must ban oil and gas exploration now, and redirect the vast subsidies propping up fossil fuel extraction towards creating decent jobs in a clean energy economy.
“Real climate leadership means making tough decisions now that put us on a path to a climate safe future. A just transition for workers and communities currently dependent on high carbon industries is an essential part of that.”
The report was written for FoES by Oil Change International, an organisation which advocates a move away from fossil fuels…

Scotland leads way with green industrial revolution
But the industry and Government aim to extract a further 20 billion barrels and opening new sites would nearly quadruple the emissions, the report argued…
The UK Government plans to complete its 31st licensing round and launch the 32nd this year, in what the report authors say is an effort to encourage more exploration…
***Clean energy investment in the UK fell from £20bn in 2015 to £7.7bn in 2017 and 2018, the report added, citing Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
In 2015 the Government took a series of actions which were seen to damage the sector, such as ending the Renewables Obligation to onshore wind one year earlier than was planned, and removing the Climate Change Levy exemption for renewables.
The report authors argued: “There is no shortage of available capital to invest in expanding renewables; the problem is that it is being invested elsewhere. Policies that make oil and gas investment more attractive conversely make renewable energy investment relatively less attractive.”…
The human impact from the phase-out of the oil and gas industry in Scotland is also a significant focus of the Sea Change report with particular emphasis on the devastating effects in Aberdeen and the north-east where the jobs market is dominated by the North Sea.
It is estimated there will be around 100,000 oil and gas jobs in the UK by 2020 and many of these can transfer their skills into the renewable industry.
It argued: “The cost and uncertainty created by the need for an energy transition should not be borne by the workers in affected industries…

Good of the authors to provide us with a means of quantifying the effects of the various activities CO2 emissions, that is how much sea ice will melt.
For example, take the Tasmanian wind farm that was the subject of an ABC report a few weeks ago, link repeated here
https://www.abc.net.au/news/rural/2019-04-08/beef-farmers-tasmania-wind-farm-dreams-reality/10976378.
The wind farm will be comprised of 31 wind turbines. Each wind turbine sits on a 700 cubic metre block of concrete. A tonne of cement emits a tonne of CO2. A cubic metre of concrete weighs 1 tonne, and based on the ratio of 3:2:1, the 1 being cement, there is 117 tonnes tonnes of cement in each wind turbine block and for each tonne of cement produced, 1 tonne of CO2 is emitted, so 117 tonnes of CO2 are emitted for each turbine. So for the 31 turbines, about 3616 tonnes of CO2 are emitted. From the information provided, the Tasmanian wind farm construction will cause 10850 square metres of sea ice to melt.
I think a few weeks ago someone said that there are about 3000 wind turbines in Australia. If each one sits on a 700 cubic metre block of cement, that’s just over 1 million square metres of sea ice gone.
This does not take into account any CO2 produced in the production of components, land clearing, installation or shipping and transport, or the CO2 that can no longer be processed by plants removed from the site.
Some would argue that concrete absorbs CO2 during curing, but that’s over decades, whereas CO2 is produced when the cement is produced.

‘..that is how much sea ice will melt..’ Which if it did occur NO rise can happen. Melting ice cannot raise water level as it is already floating.
Of course ALL this is based on FAKE science, so its the fakers leading the fakers.

Becky, this is one woman’s comment long ago:
MaryFJohnston
September 11, 2011 at 8:09 am
On the other thread the comment was made that :
“”The models are more accurate when accounting for the known radiative force of GHGs.””
I totally agree with that comment by Blimey.
This is because any model is going to give better results when more real time factors are included.
There are many factors in Global Warming Science and each factor has its own range of error which leads to a need for the use of a Modeling Technique known as the black box.
This involves isolating many smaller or less relevant effects to a black box, which is effectively a collection of effects whose sum will be an unknown but constant value during experimental measurements but which is always acknowledged as a controlled series of variables.
The effects under investigation are then varied or data collected from nature is examined and useable results can be obtained for very complex systems with this method.
There are limits to this technique however and Climate Scientists have developed a new technique to replace the black box. The primary problem with this is that the model and reality can give correlations which are extremely high and this is not useful in Climate Science so additional techniques are required in that field.
Climate Scientists have made use of a small lidded cardboard box whose dimensions are approx 450mm by 350mm by 400 mm which has the colour of a standard manilla folder, a dull yellow/brown.
During all Climate Science work all small or even inconvenient effects, such as water vapour being the primary “GHG”, which would normally go to the black box, are placed in this receptacle.
For security reasons mainly to do with funding,it is cleared daily; the contents reduced by vacuum packing and posted to the IPCC head office at the UN Building in New York.
Here they are carefully locked in a safe where neither real scientist or the public can get at them.
The resulting Climate Modeling done for the CAGW proponents can then be used for the true purpose for which it was intended; to deceive the public and give politicians something else to whip us with.
I hope this clears up some of the Scientific issues surrounding Climate Science, which is not really a science but a politically useful amalgam of law, politics and philosophy.

16 May: ClimateChangeNews: Lake Chad not shrinking, but climate is fuelling terror groups: report
Satellite analysis shows ‘vanishing’ lake has grown since 1990s, but climate instability is driving communities into the arms of Boko Haram and Islamic State
By Natalie Sauer
Climate change is aggravating conflict around Lake Chad, but not in the way experts once thought, according to new research (LINK).
Berlin-based think tank adelphi debunked the widely held idea that the lake is currently shrinking. While severe droughts in the 1970s and 80s shrunk the lake from a high-point of 25,000 sq km to 2,000 sq km in the 1990s, it has since grown to 14,000 sq km and remained relatively stable in the past two decades.
The findings draw on new analysis of 20 years of satellite imagery and long-term hydrological data from the Lake Chad basin, including ground measurements.
Previous satellite images underestimated the amount of water in the lake, in part because of the growth of plants that stood in the water, lead author Janani Vivekananda told Climate Home News…
The conflict and humanitarian crisis driven by the “shrinking” lake is often cited as a textbook example of climate change affecting security…READ ON

16 May: ThomsonReutersFoundation: Climate change pushes farmers to ‘tipping point’ in Lake Chad crisis
by Nellie Peyton
Climate change must be addressed to tackle conflict around Lake Chad, researchers said on Wednesday, as increasingly extreme weather has pushed poor farmers and fishermen to take up arms…
Irregular rains and rising temperatures have spurred on the conflict by causing food shortages and frustration, while fighting has made it harder for people to cope with these natural changes, said a report by German think-tank adelphi.
“People tend to think that you deal with the immediate humanitarian issues, then think about climate after,” lead author Janani Vivekananda told the Thomson Reuters Foundation…
The lake shrunk by about 90 percent due to severe droughts from the 1960s to the 1980s, causing competition over resources that is another factor in the conflict today, she said…
But others warned against emphasizing climate change over politics.
“Focusing on natural factors is very convenient,” said Vincent Foucher, an expert on Boko Haram at the French National Centre for Scientific Research.
“I’m a bit worried that it takes people’s eyes away from the responsibility of the army and the state,” he said.

Jeremy Corbyn to make pledge as part of party’s ‘green industrial revolution’
by Peter Walker
Labour have announced plans to fit solar panels to 1.75m homes lived in by socially housed or low-income households as part of its promised “green industrial revolution” to try to combat climate change and boost jobs.
The programme is due to be announced by Jeremy Corbyn and the shadow business secretary, Rebecca Long-Bailey, at an event in Yorkshire on Thursday.
It would involve solar panels being fitted to a million social homes as part of scheduled updates to social housing…
The party estimated the policy would create 16,900 jobs and save 7.1m tonnes of CO2 a year, equivalent to taking 4m cars off the roads…
He claimed Labour’s green industrial revolution “will benefit working-class people with cheaper energy bills, more rewarding well-paid jobs and new industries to revive the parts of our country that have been held back for far too long”.

A government led by Jeremy Corbyn would also offer a £350 million package of loans and grants to help a further 750,000 households to install solar panels, under plans for a “green industrial revolution” unveiled today.
The plans came as Labour faced continued criticism from business groups over its plans to renationalise the £64 billion power and gas transmission and distribution networks.
The CBI, the employers organisation, said the plans were already “hitting the pockets of nearly six million ***pensioners” with shares in the networks and could herald a return to “frequent power cuts that were a feature of nationalised industries of yesteryear”…

Warren’s proposed legislation, called the Defense Climate Resiliency and Readiness Act, pushes the Pentagon, the world’s largest institutional consumer of energy, to achieve net zero carbon emissions for all its non-combat bases and infrastructure by 2030. 16 May: Daily Mail: No thanks, sunshine! Deep in the heart of Thomas Hardy country, this beauty spot is the latest that is set to be carpeted in solar panels earning thousands for the landowner – but this time, the locals are fighting back
By Guy Walters
Here, there is the same network of hedgerows and that rich mass of grass and trees described in Tess. But, tragically, much of this view of Hardy Country could soon be lost for decades.
For, if a London-based energy corporation has its way, a swathe of the vale will soon be desecrated by nearly 40,000 solar panels, covering a total of 44 acres — the equivalent of 22 football pitches.
To the consternation of many locals, the panels will not be the only blots on the landscape. The proposed solar farm, which could power more than 4,000 homes, will include 11 buildings, as well as a two metre-high deer fence with CCTV cameras.
In fact, calling this a solar ‘farm’ seems disingenuous. Such artificial developments should be deemed exactly what they are: solar power stations, or solar factories.
Though, just because they often look like factories doesn’t make them profitable. Embarrassing figures released this week revealed Britain’s biggest solar farms get more money in taxpayer subsidies than they make from selling the electricity they produce…READ ALL

13 May: New Yorker: A New Generation of Activists Confronts the Extinction Crisis
By Osita Nwanevu
It is hard to pinpoint exactly when we all started hearing about the polar bears. There is an important moment in “An Inconvenient Truth,” from 2006, when Al Gore recounts a trip he took to the North Pole with scientists measuring sea ice. “It has diminished by forty per cent in forty years,” he explains. “And there are now two major studies showing that, within the next fifty to seventy years, in summertime it will be completely gone.” A C.G.I.-animated bear appears onscreen, panting and wading through water before reaching a piece of ice that breaks under its paws. “A new scientific study shows that, for the first time, they’re finding polar bears that have actually drowned swimming long distances,” Gore says. “Up to sixty miles to find the ice.”…

14 May: New Yorker: A Decisive Year for the Sunrise Movement and the Green New Deal
By Osita Nwanevu
Over the past month, the Sunrise Movement has held two hundred town-hall meetings, across the country, to promote the Green New Deal, a tour that ended on Monday night, in a packed auditorium at Howard University, in Washington, D.C. About fifteen hundred mostly young students and activists turned up to hear from the Sunrise Movement’s leaders and allies, including Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders, in an event that approached, at times, the fervor of an evangelical revival…

Look! Despite that the Act of leaving the Paris agreement is scientifically right, Mr. Bolsonaro is nothing but a fake, manipulated ideologically by another Faker, former astrologer, who claims to be a philosopher, and that crap their opinions through the internet. This Brazilian President, delivered the country which governs â people connected directly to banks and destroying everything that is an obstacle to the profit of big business and by extension, to the international financial system. If you really get out of the Paris agreement is because it is submissive to any opinion expressed by the President of the United States, even if it’s a fart noise and nothing else.
