Just one step closer to Aztec climate control:
Swedish scientist floats eating human flesh as solution to global climate change: reports
Gerren Keith Gaynor | Fox News
Stockholm School of Economics professor and researcher Magnus Soderlund reportedly said he believes eating human meat, derived from dead bodies, might be able to help save the human race if only a world society were to “awaken the idea.”
Soderlund’s argument for human cannibalism was front and center during a panel talk called “Can you Imagine Eating Human Flesh?” at the Gastro Summit, reports The Epoch Times. “Conservative” taboos against cannibalism, he said, can change over time if peoples simply tried eating human flesh.
Should we eat Great Aunt Polly or what?
Check my numbers — Around the world 55 million people die each year. The human body is 18% carbon, so a 60kg person has 10kg of pure carbon and that will generate 40kg of CO2 in “the end”. Looks like 55 million dead people will emit around 2.2Gt of carbon dioxide, or about 5% of human emissions, and about 0.002% of total natural emissions. Even if we could get over the idea of eating Aunt Polly (which I don’t think we will) aged steak is unlikely to compete well in a market with yearling beef.
It’s all a bit macabre.
He suggested more plausible options such as eating pets and insects.
Not that eating Rover is going to sell well in the West either.
Before human meat becomes the next cuisine trend, however, history shows there are potential health risks to cannibalism.
Indeed. Say hello to Human Spongiform Encephalitis, Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease, and Kuru and they’re just the ones we know about and all universally fatal. In twenty years time there’ll be a lot more.
Swedish scientist advocates eating humans to combat climate change
Söderlund used his tv interview on the State Swedish Television channel TV4 to give a powerpoint presentation entitled “Can you Imagine Eating Human Flesh?” It included such topics as “Is Cannibalism the solution to food sustainability in the future?” and “Are we humans too selfish to live sustainably?”
No idea is too stupid to be funded by Big Gov.
We live in the richest era on Earth and academics are talking about cannabalism — the perfect “end game” stratey:
In desperate times, people have fallen back on cannibalism to survive; for instance, there are reports of cannibalism during the North Korean famine in 2013, the siege of Leningrad in the early 1940s, and China’s “Great Leap Forward” in the late 1950s and 1960s.
In most civilizations, cannibalism is the last port of call, used only if the alternative is certain death. But what are the potential health consequences of eating one’s neighbor, if any?

No comment is possible on this.
We need to bring in the cleaners, urgently.

KK years ago people at work were talking about a movie called The Human Centipede and after looking at the trailer it was obvious what the premise was (I won’t go into details) and while many joked about the movie I refused to see it and never will, why?, well yes you can view much worse on the internet but at some stage personally a line must be drawn to curtail your moral boundaries.
As people mature they find what once was appealing to them is now unnecessary, childish and predictable, I personally find war movies that where shockingly effective now a bit sad and question their purpose, oh and any movies where animals are harmed have always been watched only once.
I find what this academic proposes to be in the genre of an unnecessary movie, the concept has been discussed in length by the founders of modern psychiatry as many taboo subjects were and the conclusions was always that to maintain a health mind that remains clear and capable of positive progress it has to recognise that when something is wrong that’s just what it is…wrong.
230
Yes, Yonnie.
However, it’s good to see the moral and ethical decay that underpins the green-left’s thought processes, so starkly presented.
We should be encouraging them to tell us more: what else do you have in store, you amoral, unethical morons?
120
In such a short time the left have gone from amoral, to immoral, to madness, to evil that only Satan could imagine. Disgusting and nauseating and pure evil devoid on any sense of humanity or divinity.
100
I always thought that Swedish Meatballs had a peculiar flavour!!
190
No one would want to eat old people because they would be tough, if too thin, fatty, if obese, and all likely laced with medicines. No one would want to eat people who died from disease or cancer, the latter also meaning more chemicals. That leaves accident victims, an argument for doing away with seatbelt and air bags, and volunteers. As many of the far left seem very impressionable, there might be a real population of volunteers out there, until they run out.
60
You know, before I get all over you personally for what I assume was meant to be humorous….I am approximately 1/2 Swede by blood and all my connection to Sweden was broken by my forbears leaving in the late 1800’s.
It is entirely possible that my forbears saw this level of depravity building and that is why they moved in no small numbers to the young USA.
Regardless, I’ve consumed many many plates of Swedish meatballs and am quite sure that the ones I ate were “peculiar” in flavour but only because of nutmeg, allspice and maybe parsley.
SO go cook some beef on the barbie with those added spices before you get all “humorous”!
10
No, no, look this would make a great concept for a horror movie… most of the population quickly turns into mindless, ravaging, flesh eating monsters after contracting a mysterious virus and the survivors get to remain employed in numerous sequels that get funnier each time.
130
“We need to bring in the cleaners, urgently.”
In ‘Spy Catcher’ the ‘cleaners’ were the guys that cleaned up and removed ‘evidence’ after a MI6 hit.
90
Agree entirely Keith.
Some things are too awful to be bothered discussing here or elsewhere.
And this f#ckwit is a professor ?
The standards have definitely slipped in Sweden

Over at PSI, this guy is a behaviorial scientist.
So is this guy Economics or Bebaviorial?
20
But Soylent Green tastes just like chicken!
130
More like pork.
100
Long pig bacon?
100
And eating our own would be sooooo progressive and therefore the correct course of action….. cos like its progressive…..
200
I have been reading Lucretius’s ‘The Nature of Things’ written over 2000 years ago and just wonder what he would make of all this climate catostrophe voodoo let alone the advocating of cannibalism.
When you compare his objective logic applied to articulating a world view using the knowledge base of his time with the lunacy of CAGW and its crazier advocates you just wonder of we have really progressed that far from the superstition, fearmongering and entrail reading of those times, if at all.
170
Soylent Green is chicken!!
70
Think of all the extra Methane (farts) produced as well.
30
I have smelled burned human flesh. The odor is repulsive!
50
Agree, Ill stick to burned steak thanks..
50
So an academic has finally proposed Soylent Green. Of course only from dead bodies, of course. That really needed to be said.
The advanced Eloi have spoken from their ivory towers and Green vistas. It is up to the Morlocks, the deplorables, the untouchables to process selected people in giant underground factories while the Eloi prance about and food appears mysteriously from below. Will they call them free range people? Organic?
180
And will everyone go into the mincer at 30, like Logan’s run. Finally, a sustainable world.
130
And thanks to the Socialists without freedom of speech, the government with the only guns and no borders, it will be free range pork tonight. Bacon will not be allowed because of the health dangers of a high salt diet.
110
It’s not so much the salt (most people don’t eat adequate salt — low salt causes problems, perhaps more so than high salt): bacon is `cured’ using a mixture of sodium chloride (salt) and sodium nitrite and it’s the sodium nitrite which makes bacon `dangerous.’
Make your own bacon, that way you have full control over the toxins …
100
Apparently its hard to overdose on salt, your body just flushes it out. The artery disease from too much was debunked I think.

Some-thing about the holocaust that has more or less been air brushed from history – Is exactly who conceived and planned it. We heard a lot about the (basically criminally insane) who were brought in to do the dirty work because the planners couldn’t handle the grim reality of their plan. But the fact that those planners were supposedly the best and brightest of the time, tends to get glossed over.
20
And people can be legends in their own lunchtime. We can get rid of the cows and chickens and sheep and goats and stick to sustainable food. For married couples it gives new meaning to animal husbandry.
80
Thou shalt not kill?
But its worse than that.
110
Old bodies are tough**, stringy, and have accumulated chemicals from numerous sources. Humans are near the top of the food chain — just below Polar Bears and Bengal tigers.
Clearly, I would only want the body of a young, and not too athletic person, and raised in a clean environment.
Slow cookers (crock pots) would solve this, but in the spirit of the moment, we should only use solar cookers made from recycled aluminum foil.
Yum.
150
That’s why only fresh, tasty young succulent humans should be used. Sauteed. No one over 30, as in Logan’s Run.
110
Yoghurt is recommended as tenderiser. Side plate of iron-bark salad.
50
But, I mean is this crap the best that post modern science can come up with. Will their ABC have it on the evening bulletin with a QandA follow up.
130
My mum is 101 ( really ). Now I understand why…
70
They will continue their pig headed denial of realty and keep proposing ever more pathological solutions to their fake global problems. Now their answer is out in the open, actual human sacrifice but waiting until the humans are dead before they will be eaten. Their next step is Inca and Aztec style human sacrifice by ripping out still beating hearts of the sacrificial victims before feeding the remains to the masses.
Do you still believe they have your best interest at heart? Their real goal is death of everyone including themselves.
210
But wait – we’ve seen this sort of stuff before…..
Remember the infamous CAGW snuff movies that featured simulated explosion of skeptic children , the “removal” of those who didn’t want to follow the CAGW madness?

160
Indeed, we live in the wealthiest era of all human times. And yet the utter doommongering and ‘sky is falling on our heads’ is the prevailing narrative. I sincerely believe it is an unchangeable element of either the individual or societal psyche. Maybe both. Either way it leads to unbelievable willful blindness and stupidity. I have come to the conclusion that this can’t be changed. Only ignored.

How the Elite get people to embrace truly awful and horrific stuff :
Ta da!! The Six Step Attitudinal Change Plan
1. Some practice so offensive that it can scarcely be discussed in public is advocated by a RESPECTED expert in a RESPECTED forum.
2. At first, the public is shocked, then outraged.
3. But, the VERY FACT that such a thing could be publicly debated becomes the SUBJECT of the debate.
4. In the debate, sheer repetition of the shocking subject gradually dulls its effect.
5. People then are no longer shocked.
6. No longer outraged, people begin to argue for positions to moderate the extreme; or, they accept the premise, challenging, instead, the means to ACHIEVE it.
Sound like anything else you know of?
180
Indeed, Steve.
It takes a few years to normalise the grotesque. They start with much popular media; shock and revulsion are balanced by humour and “understanding”. Academia runs with “advanced” ideas while urging caution and the need for more research; the popularisers soon follow with articles and documentaries. Political leaders preach tolerance; a rebel bishop asks ‘why not’. A thoroughly modern pope (Francis Ringo I?) says we must open our hearts; an ex-Olympian or lovable daytime TV host is ‘out’.
Pretty soon it’s everywhere, often just as an aside. A to-the-rescue good guy in a mass shooting event happens to express a ‘preference’ for a broad spectrum of animal protein while the shooter is a beef-only meanie…
We should know the drill by now. It’s a matter of stopping them.
Turn off their refuse media. Do tradition, family, property. Do coal.
STOP GLOBALISM.
190
Eating people is wrong!
110
Certainly without the right sauce.
Still the vegetarians will be disappointed and the vegans horrified. To be reliant on carnivores to save the world.
110
Well the noisy vegans will die off….i guess there is an upside…..
71
Eating carnivores has never appealed to me ( well, apart from some fish ), so I propose that we eat the vegans first. Any seconders?
60
Yes, I am a second degree vegetarian. I never eat animals which eat other animals, carnivores. Herbivores are delicious.
50
Carnivores evolved to eat herbivores so they didnt over populate. Fewer meat eaters than tree leaf munchers, natural attrition.
Pigs are yum, they might even think we are yum if given the chance. So do sharks and crocks!
40
According to Ion Idress, the now forgotten bushman cum writer, the cannibals in Qld. explained that rice eating Chinese tasted better than flesh eating White Men.
So vegetarian snowflakes should be the first into the oven.
40
Yes, it’s wrong and wasteful. They should be boiled down for biofuel.
50
People really taking part in recycling people.
40
From advocating insects as food, to eliminating meat.
Now the predictable descends to the abhorrent and degenerate suggestion of cannibalism.
Why not add a twist of authenticity? Maori and other Stone Age tribes embraced cannibalism in order to capture the spirit and bravery of their slaughtered adversaries.
Will the academics who suggest this please step forward? There is so much to learn./sarc
150
Al Gore is heavily invested in the fake meat industry.
One has to wonder why the anti-beef/fake meat campaign has ramped up.

And back in the early days of the ‘talkies’ (black and white movies with synchronized sound) there was a great comic actor called W. C. Fields. One of his famous quotes of himself was “Anyone who hates children and animals can’t be all bad.”
Other quote when asked about working with children or liking children were …
“There’s no such thing as a tough child – if you parboil them first for seven hours, they always come out tender.”
“I like children. If they’re properly cooked.”
“I like children – fried.”
These days it would appear his views would be only slightly ahead of mainstream academic thinking.
Finally the best (and probably apocryphal) quote was to a reporter who asked —
“Tell me Mr. Fields how do you like children?”
the answer (inevitably) was
“With a little gravy my boy, a little gravy.”
90
Interesting in that it probably says a lot about the two different audiences: that of W.C. and the much later Swedish>International one.
A hundred years ago the audience would have processed it as word play and obviously so far from reality that it couldn’t be taken as anything but a joke: perhaps a bit tacky, but still a joke.
Roll on to 2019 and it gets considered air play?
Has the audience changed.
KK
60
OK — you brought up W. C. Fields. Here’s my favorite:
Most of who were around when he was, knew that he was a heavy drinker. Bourbon, if I recall correctly.
Rumor had it that he consumed at least one fifth per day, if not more.
When being interviewed by the media of the day, he was asked if he ever drank water.
[Imagine the sound of W. C. Fields’ voice as he says] “Water?!?! Never touch the stuff. Fish **** {have the intercourse act} in it.”
60
As I expected the Western and European world has gone completely mad. We have leaders who are useless and/or powerless. Even with a reasonably good leader like Trump and possibly Boris Johnson they are being blocked from every direction from the left who if given power would destroy the respective country in short order. As for PM Morrison given he is a huge disappointment it doesn’t really matter who is the leader. Besides Australians now rate climate change as the second biggest issue according to a recent survey, above economic issues and border security. Cost of living is the biggest issue. Our PM is doing more about climate change (bad) and border security (good) but he is neglecting the cost of living issue (energy and food costs, etc.). Enjoy the music while it lasts. This lucky country is fast running out of luck.
80
Slightly OT, but relevant to the theme of a world gone mad, 32.7c in Perth yesterday, 30 on the 28th August, against an average of 20. Any bets on a third one?

WEATHER, drongo !

It’s been bloody freezing here in NovoCastria in the mornings with no clouds to “back radiate” as Gee Aye would have it overnight.

24ºC in Perth today. 16.9ºC last Thursday
Yes your world has gone mad, crazy, deluded, idiotic..DUMB etc…
but your world is not the real world.
130
The average minimum for Perth so far this September is 1.8ºC BELOW NORMAL
Even with one warm day, the average so far this September is only 0.9ºC above normal.
ie NORMAL Perth temperatures.
160
Gentlemen please, weather extremes are a global cooling signal. In south east Australia there has been a cold air outbreak and before the week is out it’ll be summer.
Blocking high pressure, meandering jet streams, not caused by an increase in CO2.
150
Possibly, also not caused by cats, if you are looking for spurious effectors
117
You mean furry effectors?
90
The great climate shift of 1976 was a game changer, do you know the cause?
80
no – but it did occur after action was taken (in the northern hemisphere, where the effect was noticed) to stop acid rain, and also when countries enacted stronger environmental laws.

Perth’s warmest spring and warmest September by mean max were in 1877. (Accurate? There was some weird climate globally in the late 1870s. 1878 was Perth’s hottest by mean max, depending on whose gauge you want to trust, of course. 1878 was the year of the global heat and drought which stretched right round the world’s middle. It too did pass.)
Not that it means a thing, not that there’s any reason why there shouldn’t be a warming phase post 1980, not that there’s any reason why this year on the midcoast shouldn’t be as bad as 1902 (it’s looking bad), but, as TonyfromOz would say…
I’ll bite!
120
The 1870s decade was extraordinary in both hemispheres, there was a lot more moisture about. The UK got 20% above average and the Burdekin River in Queensland began to flood in 1871 after 60 years of drought.
90
With the temperatures we have a problem which needs resolving.

50
In south east Australia the wetness began in the 1860s.
‘Palaeoclimate evidence indicates that the La Niña event associated with this string of wet years began in 1860, temporarily weakened in 1862 and then switched to an El Niño event in 1864. To add to the tribulations of the settlers, the onset of this El Niño event brought drought conditions that lasted from mid-1964 through to late 1866.’

3C here in North Central Victoria this morning Peter F, cold wind and some snow on the nearby ranges. We are only about 200m asl. Your point? It’s weather, dear boy, not climate.

Not unique, extremes in weather happen as the planet cools. Blocking and the collapse of the subtropical ridge will produce a couple of extremes close together, too hot too cold and generally unseasonable.

“What are the potential health consequences of eating one’s neighbor?”
Mad Cow Disease.
100
Joanne actually mentioned that in her text above, but she changed the word Bovine for Human in BSE, Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (or encephalitis), or Mad Cow Disease.
Tony.
100
Mad Cow disease was discovered in country Queensland many years ago, it was called line dancing.
90
Haven’t heard of BSE for ages. Wasn’t it found not to be transmissible from cows to humans i.e. the whole thing was just early attempt at using an environmental scare to stop people eating meat?
If humans could be infected with BSE from eating cattle wouldn’t most of the British population that ate beef in the 1990s now be foaming at the mouth and running into walls etc? Judging by the goings on it the British parliament lately on second thoughts maybe there was something in it after all 🙂
50
BSE and CJD are related disorders.
Tony.
90
Tony, as horrible as these diseases are, they pale in comparison of the disease of leftism. Do you know what causes leftists?
40
Related does not mean transmissible, as far as I know the normal background levels of CJD have not increased in the UK due to exposure to BSE. If it had I’m sure the media would have told us all about it.
10
Just because there’s no /sarc tag doesn’t mean this guy’s not serious. There’s plenty of history in this notion, most notably this famous example:
A Modest Proposal For preventing the Children of Poor People From being a Burthen to Their Parents or Country, and For making them Beneficial to the Publick, commonly referred to as A Modest Proposal, is a Juvenalian satirical essay written and published anonymously by Jonathan Swift in 1729. The essay suggests that the impoverished Irish might ease their economic troubles by selling their children as food to rich gentlemen and ladies. This satirical hyperbole mocked heartless attitudes towards the poor, as well as British policy toward the Irish in general.
In English writing, the phrase “a modest proposal” is now conventionally an allusion to this style of straight-faced satire.
More at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Modest_Proposal
120
Swift is buried in St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, European Union.
The gift shop there sells cook books.
Hey, *I* laughed!
40
Yes Alexander,
Swift was usually on the money.
During the Great Hunger of the 1800’s in the land of my birth, there is little doubt that some unfortunate descended to cannibalism.
Then like now there probably was sufficient food production for subsistence.
Much of it was exported by the planted protestant landowners to feed the “mother” country.
Then like now the ruling class were determined to impose their religious ethos on those of different belief, and if it took genocide to accomplish this – so be it.
Actually my very existence could be due to the eating habits of an ancestor and so for that matter could many of those who colonised the “New” world.
So times change but old habits die hard – despotism is alive and well in this old revolving rock.

Don’t laugh. I remember blokes in the hey-day of consultancy who made fortunes retailing this guru marketing stuff to corporate execs who paid out lavishly to cover themselves. Of course the execs also had to budget go-away money for the EO consultants and other plunderers. Now it’s probably crisis/evacuation consultants and carbon counters who get the slops left over from paying the marketing gurus.

This weekend Princes Bridge that spans the Yarra river in Melbourne will be occupied by activists of the Extinction Rebellion movement in what is known as the ‘Princes Bridge Block’. The event is expected to disrupt travelers through Melbourne and cause a commotion in the leadup to the group’s Spring Rebellion, a national event occurring on October 7th that promises to bring continuous disruption all over Australia to draw awareness to the global issue of climate change. Is this protest a bridge too far?…

The cemeteries of Russia are amazing, especially in the big cities of St. Petersberg and Moscow. Famous people only, buried in groups of professions.
In St. Petersburg in a corner of the the Alexander Nevsky cemetery I found so many famous composers, Tchaicovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimsky Korsakov, Rubenstein, Mussorgosky.
Then I started to laugh. I had found decomposers’ corner!
In Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery do not miss Galina Ulanova, the great ballerina who introduced amazing interpretive Russian Ballet to the West. Or the much visited tomb of Raisa Gorbachev who nearly eliminated the scourge of Leukemia in Russia, only to die of Leukemia herself. Kruschev’s black and white block tomb, symbolising his schizophrenia and the impossible to find tomb of Boris Yeltsin (no hints).

even with all the MSM hype & promotion, this is the best turnout for Greta in the US!
28 Aug: Deutsche Welle: Fridays For Future in the US: A small but determined movement
Climate activist Greta Thunberg has arrived in the US, where her Fridays for Future movement hasn’t taken off yet. But the teens who did show up to recent protests have made their position clear: They won’t back down.
by Carla Bleiker (Washington)
PIC: 7 protesters
Many people in the US aren’t aware of the youth climate movement that was started by 16-year-old Swede Greta Thunberg in August 2018 and has inspired students in countries all across the world to come together to protest for climate action weekly.
But the fact that Fridays for Future (FFF) is less well known stateside doesn’t mean that young activists in the US are less passionate.
On a rainy Friday in Washington, DC, a small group of teens sit on a fountain on the western side of the Capitol with a clear view of the Washington Monument. Madeline Graham, 16, is prepping her fellow protesters for potential trouble. The Capitol Police might tell them to leave, she says to the ***five or so protesters around her, but they should stay right where they are.
“We have a right to be here,” she emphasizes.
The group later ***grew to around 10 people — a ***relatively small turn-out, considering school hasn’t returned from summer break in D.C. yet, but at least it meant they could stay where they are.
“If we got more than 20 people, we would need a permit, which we don’t have,” Graham explained. “So we would either have to split up into two smaller groups and separate, or move to the White House where you don’t need a permit.”
It didn’t come to that — heavy rain showers made sure of it…
Graham firmly believes that the young movement can bring about change in the US.
“Any politician who underestimates us won’t underestimate us for much longer,” she said. “You can’t hide from righteous anger.”…
The teens were joined by Carolina Schaffer, who moved to the US from Brazil a year ago and was holding a poster that read “Help us stop them from burning our forests.”
At ***29, Schaffer considers herself “just under the age limit for being allowed to come to this protest,” but she fit right in…
The student believes the youth climate movement isn’t as big in the US as it is in Europe because climate change isn’t as widely accepted as fact…

“LONDON, Sept. 9 — The bill to prevent British Prime Minister Boris Johnson from taking Britain out of the European Union without a deal with Brussels was given Royal Assent on Monday by Queen Elizabeth II”.
So much for that idea. Maybe Boris didn’t see it or maybe he didn’t want to break with tradition, so unlike rebel speaker John Bercow who sports the bumper sticker ‘Bollocks to Brexit’, on his wife’s car.
71
Ah! But what deal? And if the EU won’t make any move?
70
TdeF
I still think Boris and Cummings must have a good Plan B “up their sleeves”. Otherwise all the talk from Boris is just that –talk and bluster. I do not think Boris is stupid and if the “rabbit is not pulled out of the hat” he will be remembered as a fool and he certainly will not want that.
80
Agreed. One plan is the denial letter to go to the EU. I just wish he had sent it with the bill for Royal Assent. Same contents. Not my bill.
There are many unknowns. One is Macron who wants to play Napoleon, the tough dictator of the EU. The other is Merkel, who is no longer leader of her party, near retirement and needs a deal to prevent triggering a German recession.
Their calculation is simple. If Boris/Farage wins the election, they are toast and the EU election tells everyone that the British people want out of the EU. So it’s only a question of terms. Ireland and Scotland are inconsequential, economically and democratically. Europe has better cheese and the Scots are living on EU handouts. So better to negotiate now, before they align with a short term Corbyn government only to find no deal is the only deal under an angry Boris. Unlike Theresa May’s government, Boris is ready to leave without a deal.
90
Parliament is suspended now. Speaker Bercow announces his resignation. No decision on an election. Brexit delay bill has Royal assent and has become law!
It is still unclear to me, how this will play out over the next 6 weeks. Is a clean, no deal Brexit now inevitable?
60
Not at all. It’s a shaky possibility depending upon which variables play out.
50
So many optimists here today. Boris and Dominic have already blown Plan C (assent), they’re on Plan D . . . and counting. As I said previously, whatever Plan D or E or F is it’ll want to be a ripper to counteract all they haven’t done so far.
Cummings obviously believes an improbable bird in the bush is worth 3 or 4 birds firmly in the hand. Even if you have a master-strategy, you don’t hand points to the enemy for no reason. You do not pass up dead-certain victories (House of Lords filibuster) and almost-certain victories (by letting the Tilbrook case go uncontested and by withholding assent to the Rebel bill) just so you can have a far more difficult, very uncertain fight down the track (in parliament, the Supreme Court and Brussels). It is lunacy or treachery afoot.
We are assured Cummings has a cunning Blackadder plan to win: We’ll let them score 3 or 4 give-away goals then we’ll fight back with our super-whammy, ultra-secret, tectonic strategy — just you wait and see. We’re still waiting Dominic. I suspect we’ll still be waiting at Christmas.
Boris still has DEAL stuck in his thick skull. I believe that’s why he won’t make a clean job of breaking with the EU; why he repeatedly stuffs up obvious chances to leave. That’s what his secret strategy is all about. I don’t trust him to deliver full Brexit. Sorry fellas.
70
According to Jenni Russell, wring in the New York Times this morning, Dominic Cummings is a manipulative Rasputin, who combines brilliantly simple slogans with shameless lies and micro targeted social media campaigns.
Cummings combines strategic cunning, conviction, secrecy, ruthlessness and upending convention to combat reason and fact!
I hope this mastermind has not grossly miscalculated. It could be that he is better at winning elections than bringing them about!

9 Set: AFR: Gulfs emerge on electricity market overhaul
by Angela Macdonald-Smith and Mark Ludlow
Stark divisions have been exposed within the electricity industry, investors and politicians about the urgency and need for an overhaul of electricity market rules after the country’s top energy market supervisor suggested measures may be needed to extend the life of coal power plants to ensure security of supply.
The potential reforms suggested by Australian Energy Market Operator head Audrey Zibelman on Friday (LINK) primarily involve the introduction of separate markets for services that used to be supplied by coal power. Those services aren’t being valued in today’s market, where wholesale power prices can spend hours at a stretch near zero or in negative territory, she signalled (LINK).
But Ms Zibelman also suggested a reserve of coal power plants may be needed as in Germany, where owners of ageing brown coal-fired plants are paid to mothball their plants but keep them available for emergency use.
Coal power entrepreneur Trevor St Baker said on Monday that reforms to shore up round-the-clock power were long overdue and called for proposals to swiftly be drawn up to go before federal and state energy ministers at their next meeting late this year.
“It is garbage, those people saying you don’t really need that,” he said. “We have to have it immediately. There is no reason AEMO can’t act quicker.”.
Ms Zibelman said it was “critical” the work on market reforms was done quickly given the risk that coal power plants are shut earlier than scheduled because they can no longer survive periods of low or negative prices…READ ALL

10 Sept: news.com.au: Sunshine Coast blaze may have been arson
Queensland police are interviewing three teenagers about a blaze that destroyed homes and forced hundreds of evacuations on the Sunshine Coast.
by Christine Flatley and Tracey Ferrier, AAP
The teens reportedly used a local chat room to admit to lighting the fast-moving Peregian fire on Monday afternoon.
There are conflicting reports about property losses from the fire, which forced hundreds to flee on Monday…
Police wouldn’t confirm the teens came to their attention because of the message but have confirmed officers were speaking with the boys over a fire that started in bushland off Koel Circuit in Peregian Springs about 4.30pm on Monday.
No charges have been laid.
Just before 10am, the fire was quickly burning in a northerly direction, from Peregian Beach and Peregian Breeze Estate towards Marcus Beach and Weyba.
Residents in those areas have been ordered to leave…
Early on Friday, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services deputy Commissioner Mike Wassing said the loss of two homes and a shed had been confirmed in the Peregian Beach area.
But acting Sunshine Coast mayor Tim Dwyer says only one house is confirmed lost, with 10 other properties suffering varying degrees of damage…

If you think people on the menu is surreal, consider the current meeting of the homeland security team at the 9/11 site in New York. The Democrats say there is no threat from lack of borders, do not mention radical Isl*m but consider Climate Change is an ‘existential’ threat to their security.
It is nuts to suggest after 31 years since 1988 of rapid, runaway, unstoppable Global Warming that in 2019 the biggest threat to world peace and Americans is Global Warming. 1 degree Centigrade in a century in an average is more important than nuclear war, mass invasion or food supply and is an immediate threat to the US. All Donald Trump’s fault, not 16 years of Clinton and Obama who did nothing about anything much, except to sell the US down the river. As Kanye West said, eight years of a black President and blacks are no better off. Now with three years of Trump, black unemployment is the lowest in history. Plus neither did anything about guns, so that is Trump’s fault too.

did they survey ABC’s audience?
10 Sept: ABC: Climate change survey shows Australians want action on emissions, but are divided on nuclear
ABC Science By environment reporter Nick Kilvert
The majority of Australians blame increasing energy costs on “excessive profit margins” of energy companies, and 64 per cent think we should be aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050.
But we’re still divided on how to get there, with solar energy topping the list of preferred energy sources and nuclear power continuing to polarise opinion.
These are some of the findings from ***The Australia Institute’s annual Climate of the Nation report (LINK), which shows Australians are becoming increasingly unhappy over a range of climate and energy issues…
A majority of respondents said they would be willing to use less electricity during high demand periods if they were paid to do so…
https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2019-09-10/climate-of-nation-australia-attitudes/11484690
from the report:
Key findings include:
•81% of Australians are concerned that climate change will result in more droughts and flooding (up from 78% in 2018).
•78% of Australians are concerned climate change will lead to water shortages in our cities, an eleven percentage points in the past two years (67% in 2017; 72% in 2018).
•64% of Australians think Australia should have a national target for net zero emissions by 2050 (15% think it shouldn’t)
•54% of Australians reject the idea that Australia should not act on climate change until other major emitters like the US and China do.
•62% of Australians supports a levy on fossil fuel exports to help fund local adaptation to climate change.
50
If these numbers are accurate, the branewashing is working. If not its the ABC lie machine in full swing.

10 Sept: ABC: More than climate change driving Queensland fires, explain climatologists
By Ben Deacon and Penny Timms
The record drought has combined with a record warm winter to fuel this year’s grim fire outlook, according to climatologists and bushfire experts..
Andrew Watkins from the Bureau of Meteorology says the southern half of Australia has experienced the driest January to August on record.
“When we take into account temperatures as well, which have been highest on record for winter in some of those bushfire areas, we’ve had high evaporation,” he said…
There is another, less well-known climate driver behind the strong westerly winds fanning the flames.
“We have a period of negative SAM (Southern Annular Mode) affecting us now, as it has on and off for a while,” Dr Watkins said.
When the SAM is negative, strong westerly winds like the ones experienced at the weekend reach further north than normal…
And when it comes to increased westerly winds like the ones that fanned this week’s fires, (Climate change expert Andrew King from Melbourne University) said climate science predicts less strong winds.
“The general climate trend is towards more positive SAM conditions, which means that we see those weather systems moving further south away from Australia and associated with that, we wouldn’t see the same frequency of westerly winds that we’ve seen recently in New South Wales and Queensland.”…

Ahead of MSNBC’s climate change forum with several 2020 Democratic candidates on September 19 and 20, on Monday, NBC News announced it will be creating a new “climate unit” of reporters devoted to pushing the liberal environmental agenda and even launch a Climate in Crisis series in the days leading up to the presidential campaign event.
“NBC News creating a new climate unit to cover the most important issues that affect our environment,” weatherman Al Roker announced on NBC’s Today show. He continued to tout: “We’re gonna kick things off next week with a special network-wide series….Be sure to look for Climate in Crisis all next week on platforms of NBC News, starting next Sunday, September 15.”

Wouldn’t vegans be far too bitter to eat? Remember when clowns were first put on the market, and people said they tasted funny? And the market failure when they tried to get us to eat people who wore orange safari suits and yachting shoes and sported mullets – and they had absolutely no taste? And you’re probably too young to remember the culinary disaster from the sixties when hippies were tried; no matter how long you cooked them, you still failed the drug test. 9 Sept: American Thinker: Got Google? Scarier than milk
By Marion DS Dreyfus
Mark Levin had a fascinating episode yesterday on his exceptional hour-long Fox News program, Life, Liberty & Levin, where his guest is an avowed leftist but an honest researcher — rara avis, right there — and this Dr. Robert Epstein spent the hour describing the constant but usually subtle manipulations indulged in by Google from 2016 to push millions of votes toward HRC, though people were scarcely aware their search results and the “casual” characters generated by search engine inputs tilted them repeatedly to voting for one party over the other (over 3 million votes, Dr. Robert Epstein says). This is being done all the time by Google…
I have suspected this all along, as I have been on focus groups funded by Google and so cognate social media — they know that people no longer trust them…READ ON

9 Sept: American Thinker: Time to put an end to the climate cult
by Spike Hampson
The climate cult has gotten out of hand. It now threatens to prevail in politics by convincing the ignorant that the science is settled…
Climate science has been corrupted by the money and prestige that flow to it so long as its supposedly objective research yields findings that support the climate cult narrative. Climate scientists have been bought with government money. Reporters have realized that critical examination of the climate change cult will diminish their access to the powerful individuals who feed them stories. Big corporations have adapted to the fact that their public image will be smeared and their lobbying efforts complicated if they stop pretending to be ideologically aligned with key politicians when it comes to climate science…READ ON

Their contempt for their fellow man knows no bounds.

Surely somewhere there still must be one warmer who can maintain respect for the traditions and customs of society. And if not that then is there no one left who isn’t willing to insult — not a strong enough word — the whole human race.

When the social engineers want to field-test their stuff they shoot straight to Sweden and attempt to influence the blondies before trying the same stuff on in the English-speaking world. During their long dark winters when the vitamin D deficiencies set in they are likely a bit subject to suggestion. The engineers got the free sex thing going with the blondies before they went to manipulate the rest of us. We used to tell jokes about the Swedes. Two old Swedish ladies are getting their picture taken and the photographer is mucking about with his camera. Whats he doing? says Swedish old lady number one. He’s trying to FOCUS said that second Swede. “Well not until he’s taken the photo” said the first one.

Magnus Soderlund seems to have the Midas Touch by turning dead people into gold. What in reality, what does happen to Aunt Polly’s offensive carbon atoms after stewing down to a thick broth and scrumptious meaty morsals in a flotilla of crisp veggies? It’s off to the sewage treatment plant and back to the world with her along with the rest of the muck.
How is this even remotely helping the climate? One less cow to feed?

And this is the point….the whole CAGW foolishness floats on the surface of any body of water and bobs up and down gentle next to other items…..

In 1981 I raised meat crickets for “Butterflies in my Stomach” recipes, hoarded bricks of salt, built electrostatic radiation detectors and distributed copies of “Nuclear War Survival Skills.” I recall a novel, Lucifer’s Hammer, in which sensitive, concerned and aware folks against soiling Gaia with electrical generation were soon fighting over scraps of long pig, Polynesian style. If the antinuclear Church of the Green Goddess is successful in banning electric power this time around, or causing a collapse that brings real war, there should be no more shortage of cannibalism than there was when American-brainwashed Jesus Freaks led the Tae-ping revolt against the Quing Dynasty.

Each new day’s Outrageous News item always prompts me to consider whether it’s all done by (and for) the news media. There is an adage associated with the news media: “If it bleeds, it leads.”
And if there isn’t enough real bloodletting happening, they are more than willing to create something…or promote something that will lead to street fighting…or maybe even a civil war!
It’s as if the vast majority of the MSM are unwilling to promote any attitude or behavior that actually edifies the public or sustains life.
Oh, and don’t forget that what they do encourages there to be more [involuntary] organ donors. Maybe that’s the bottom line in all the insane encouragement of violence.

I respectfully support the Swedish scientist and support his right to be the first to be eaten.
