1970s Spock documentary — Climate scientists believe the next ice age may have already started

Watch Spock in the 1970s describing how climate scientists were predicting a mile high wall of ice that could cover Canada down to Boston “in your lifetime”, and it may already have started. Commenter Bulldust found Gary Orsum’s droll commentary on that documentary. Great stuff.

Best part begins from 5:45 mins on:

In 1977 the worst winter in a century struck the United States… one desperate night in Buffalo, eight people froze to death…

the brutal Buffalo winter might become common all over the United States. Climate experts believe the next ice age is on its way.

Temperatures have been dropping for thirty years…

With 40 years headstart on climate scares, Orsum has all the answers.

Leonard Nimoy: Arctic cold and perpetual snow could turn most of the inhabitable portions of our planet into an Arctic wasteland.

Sure says Orsum, but there are ways to allieviate that threat even with your primitive caveman technology, just get the kids to take Fridays off school.

The opening five minutes explaining how he’s not a denier though he keeps being called one. Readers here have lived that landscape already. Just say “lukewarmer” and jump to 5:45 on. Worked a treat for me at 1.5 speed (look for the cog on the bottom right).

Imagine if schools taught the children history and they all watched documentaries like this once a year…

“Temperatures have been dropping for thirty years…”

He didn’t go back far enough, temperatures have been dropping since the Holocene maximum about 7-8 thousand years ago.

Umm, I would like to point out the global temperature trends show that there was almost no cooling during this time. I wonder what all the fuss was about?

    ….what is a homogenization process?

….you mean it changes over time?

….but that doesn’t make any sense, historical data doesn’t change!

At least it was noticeable that no one was blamed for the ice ages or the ice age to come. The weather was no one’s fault. There were no climate taxes, no punishment of Western democracies. It was just one of those catastrophe stories. There was no Greta Thunberg lecturing the United Nations on what terrible people they were.

That was before the invention of CO2 driven global warming aka Climate Change by James Hansen and Al Gore on 22 June 1988, a hot midsummer day when James and Al defeated the airconditioning in Congress to make people sweat. Pure theatre.

The fact that after 31 years of rapid warming and rapidly rising seas it is obviously not true has never bothered self appointed Climate Scientists in the new Liberal world where anyone can be a Climate Scientist, except of course any actual meteorologist.

Australia even appointed an all powerful board of Climate Commissioners, none of whom had any actual qualifications in meteorology as we knew it before Al Gore became the world’s leading Climate Scientist. Prime Minister Gillard appointed a science ignorant PhD in dead kangaroos as our Chief Climate Scientist, ignoring the 500 qualified career experts in the bureau of meteorology. Everyone was now an expert, unless of course you actually had qualifications in real climate science. And 97% of the people who made money from this agreed it was a good thing.

So it continues, but this time the coming disaster is your fault. How dare you!

And it was also a time when Climate Scientists were infallible. As today.

Whatever happened to soothsayers, mediums, prophets, clairvoyants, fortune tellers, diviners and oracles?
In my day there was nothing better than a good augury and auspices were not bad either.

Nowadays it’s hard to even find a wise woman. Grim Greta will have to do.

“Whatever happened to soothsayers, mediums, prophets, clairvoyants, fortune tellers, diviners and oracles?”

Prognostication is still among us, but in a different form. It was discovered that wild guessed inspired by psychotropic plants and oxygen deprivation were sufficient to fool most people most of the time, so the IPCC leveraged these methods into climate science since there were an awful lot of people they needed to fool.

All the prognosticators remind me of a wonderful quote in my favourite textbook (Mine Investment Analysis by Gentry and O’Neil), which came from The Mining Town:

“Pure gold was hidden in the quartz, they said. ‘Twas proved by dreams and signs, and rods divining, by chemic tests, and spirits of the dead, In fact by everything except mining.”

And thus the iceage scare was doomed to fail as a religion. No one could be taxed, turned into a serf, coerced and told off.

No industry could sell generators that “warmed the planet”.

No bankers could sell “credits” to hold back the ice.

I’ve noticed the various skeptic sites don’t seem to follow one another. Global cooling scare Steven Schneider is also Climate-gate global warming scare Steven Schneider. It’s often the VERY SAME people. The science is ALWAYS settled. And the science says: “The world is ending unless you give me your money.” And yes, TdeF, they DID try to get govt. involved, see Kukla-Matthews letter to Nixon.

You’ll be relieved to know that Snopes et al have fact-checked and found that there was no cooling scare behind these TIME covers. It was just some stuff about weather. Or something. Truth is, there was no cooling scare anywhere, just…stuff.

In fact, if you click for the 1974 TIME article on cooling climate you just get “Sorry, you’ve reached a page that doesn’t exist”. However you can get an article with the fascinating headline: Dog Dancing Up a Storm in the Kitchen Is the True Party Animal of the Season

    And you can get Greta.

    Unbelievable.

No not Spock, what I just saw.

Looking out the window I saw two very large hot air balloons skimming over house rooftops near Bar Beach and Merewether.
Clearance, hard to estimate, but at times 50 metres or less.
    About 6;30 a.m.

They came West and as they went overhead the nearest one was about 100 metres up.

They were most likely launched at the park opposite Bar Beach.

Powerlines, homes, other people not far below. But they obviously had permission from the local council, Williamtown RAAF base, Civil Aviation authority etc.

    Wouldn’t they?

Stop debating and arguing with fools and con artists about IPCC climate change hoax modelling, that is the diversion the socialist globalist new world order wants us to do while they gradually implement their political agendas.

Former Greens Leader Bob Brown gave their game away during his last National Press Club address in Canberra when he told the audience about his “dream” that there will be a “world parliament” and no national borders. In other words One World Government and member states with no sovereignty. A European Union world wide but far more controlled and managed by the elites.

“Stop debating and arguing with fools and con artists ”

      Yes.

The Science is quite clear, CO2 is simply an integral part of “The Air” and is fully compliant with the universal gas law up to 11,000 metres altitude. Above that point it may perform as a greenhouse gas and send whatever meagre energy it retains out to deep space.

There is No greenhouse heating mechanism: there is no debate needed.

Additionally, from the engineering viewpoint, even if the Greenhouse effect was real, CO2 and especially the human related component of that gas in the air is Quantitatively Irrelevant.

      Science disposes of the Myth.

Why and how does this Myth still have traction?

Perhaps people like Peter Ridd could tell us?

Genuine scientists of the 1970’s got it right the first time. We are very likely heading for significant global cooling although possibly not a full on Ice Age at this time.

Unlike natural global warming such as the Minoan, Egyptian, Roman, Medieval and present periods where civilisation always thrives, periods of natural cooling are always associated with famine, war and disease. The Chinese know this and how badly they are affected by cooling hence them buying agricultural land all over the world.

Sorry if off topic but it is related.

In Tony Heller’s latest video he talks about how “our” (Australian) BoM has been cooling the past and ignoring warm temperatures thus turning a cooling signal into a warming one.

I wish they would realise Orwell’s “1984” was a warning about the Left, not an instruction manual for them.

The “1984” thought police is spreading. YouTube and other social media tools are gradually introducing more and more ways to reduce free speech and help propagate hate speech and lies. In the great Orwellian fashion, the “You” in YouTube is no longer about you. It’s no surprise some are developing alternatives. I hope one of them becomes popular enough. Otherwise, the propaganda will only escalate and as a result people will be turned into mushrooms. Of course many already are. The left are wining thus far.

As a general comment on ice ages and what we see as the weather, a thin layer just above the ground, it is amazing how many self labelled Climate Scientists are atmospheric people. Of course they and specifically James Hansen say the atmosphere controls our planet, which means they chose the right career.

However the atmosphere is a tiny 1/340th of the weight of the water below 3/4 of the planet and 1/4 of the specific heat and so 1/1200th of the significance as a heat reservoir, the atmosphere, storms, rain, humidity, drought, temperature is not about what goes on in the upper atmosphere. It is what goes on in the water. About that we know very little except to talk of the Pacific Decadal Osciallation, El Nino, La Nina, the Gulf Stream, the Humboldt current, the Caribbean.

Then as most of the light impacts the cold surface of the water (or ice for higher latitudes), there is no question of a greenhouse effect. Where there are no clouds over land, the temperature plummets at night, simply disproving the permanent CO2 blanket proposition.

In fact there is 50x as much CO2 in the water as there is in the atmosphere and fish breathe, a fact ignored by many scientists. The ocean is stuffed with gas in rapid exchange and equilibrium, especially CO2. So man release CO2 simply vanishes. If CO2 goes up it is simply because of slight ocean surface warming, which does not require a lot of explanation.

So it is likely the entire planet temperature is controlled by only two things, solar intensity and the oceans and the oscillations in both. Exactly as Dr. Weiss determined with his unprejudiced Fourier analysis of temperature cycles over the last 2500 years. Only two cycles are involved, the 200 year De Vries solar cycle and the induced ocean AMO PDO at 65 years.

Studying the atmosphere to predict the future, as most climate people have done, is likely a complete waste of time. Arguing that the atmosphere controls planetary temperature is equally silly. The only part of the atmosphere which is significant is water. The fact is the world is getting colder already as will be very apparent over the next ten years. However that does not mean another ice age either. In the last 2500 years we have had about ten such oscillations as can be seen in the Weiss presentation.

However an ice age could be caused by a major volcanic explosion which blocked all sunlight could do that in a few years and it would take thousands of years to get back to where we are today.

So to be constructive, we should have a volcano tax and all the cash should go to countries which do not have volcanoes. Like Australia.

      Great.

“So we should have a volcano tax and all the cash should go to countries which do not have volcanoes. Like Australia.”

With all the contributions from places like Iceland, New Zealand, Italy and so many of the Pacific Islands, quick calculations show that I should receive about U.S.$397 per annum.
Together with the removal of the CO2 tax on coal fired power my family electricity bill should come down by AUD$800 p.a.

      Looking forward to it.

      And pigs might fly.

I would have said that about a carbon dioxide tax, but I was completely wrong. What did not fly was a petrol tax. People understand that instantly.

However the RET is a massive carbon dioxide tax in the electricity industry, disguised in our electricity and gas power bills and has on its own driven up power prices in Victoria by 900%. So when people ask who is paying for the windmills and their cash handouts for just existing, the answer is you do. Not the government.

Otherwise this is the second time pigs have been mentioned. Peter Fitzroy confessed to pig ignorance, which was one highlight in today’s comments.

Going off unexpectedly is what volcanoes do best. Nothing we can do about it.

You’ll have to sue it’s owner. Yes, that island (with its volcano) is Private Property.
Maybe the owner will be required to fence it off so tour/cruise ships can’t land — and lose — passengers.

If Campei Flegrei and Yellowstone super volcanoes go off, it would be best to not be in their calderae at the time.

          Black Friday Updates:
The NZ Police have opened a criminal investigation. (They’re looking for the bad guys aka skapegoats)
The NZ Police have gone onto the island this morning to find the 8 `missing, presumed dead.’

At 11:21 this morning, 6 bodies had been recovered. (see NZ Police tweet).
White Island is currently surrounded by a 5km Exclusion Zone. Maybe that’s where they will build ‘The Wall.’ Perhaps Trump will be invited to participate — he’ll get a wall, but just not quite where he wanted it — and all cruise ship passengers will go back to being able to think they are safe. Cruising will no longer be quite as dangerous…

Given the general ignorance in the supposedly educated population(s) of the world, something like this was slated to happen. Eventually. I can talk: I live in a city built on volcanoes which is supposedly over 250 years (on average) overdue for another eruption.
I wonder if there is an exclusion clause in life insurance policies covering active volcanoes?

StephenP posted about this on Jo’s “Midweek Unthreaded”:

12 Dec: Guardian: David Bellamy obituary
Botanist, environmentalist and broadcaster who communicated his love for the natural world to millions of viewers and listeners
Despite his close association with the environmental lobby over three decades, during which he was president, vice-president, trustee, patron or honorary member of dozens of organisations, in later years Bellamy became disillusioned with mainstream green organisations. He saw them as unrealistic where he was a pragmatist, and sentimental where he was a realist. He antagonised animal rights groups by his ambivalence towards hunting and upset greens with increasingly vociferous attacks on windfarms.

He became dogged and unrelenting in his dismissal of climate change. His questioning of the scientific basis for the assertion that anthropogenic carbon emissions are the primary drivers for climate change alienated him from his natural constituency and caused some of his former allies to view his pronouncements – some of which amounted to outright denials about global warming – with scorn. In 2004 he had a well-publicised spat with the Guardian journalist George Monbiot, who accused him of causing “incalculable harm to environmentalism”…

His views were seen as increasingly extreme and his figurehead positions with some organisations began to be seen by their trustees as a liability. He appeared to some to present himself as a lone voice of contradiction to compensate for a waning media profile that he found difficult to accept.

To others, his alternative views and his deep convictions, whether they followed the trend or not, were all part and parcel of the man, and came with the privilege of knowing such a warm, considerate, immensely knowledgable and affectionate person who did much good, and re-engaged a generation with the natural world…

David James Bellamy, botanist and environmentalist, born 18 January 1933; died 11 December 2019.

      Guardian obit failed to mention:

12 Dec: UK Sun: TV STAR DEAD: David Bellamy death – TV nature presenter and environmental campaigner who ‘inspired a generation’ passes away aged 86
      by Holly Christodoulou
The larger-than-life environmental campaigner – famed for his wild grey hair and beard – presented more than 400 programmes and wrote 45 books…
The Conservation Foundation, which Bellamy was president and co-founder of, confirmed he had passed away today in a statement…

He studied and later taught botany at Durham University and received a string of TV offers following his work on the Torrey Canyon oil spill in 1967.
Presenter Bellamy was a household name thanks to his work as a scientist and conservationist.
He inspired Sir Lenny Henry’s “grapple me grapenuts” catchphrase and was a regular presence on TV on show including Bellamy On Botany and Bellamy’s Backyard Safari.
      GLOBAL WARMING ROW
But Bellamy, who also appeared on Don’t Ask Me, said the work dried up after he spoke out against wind farms while appearing on Blue Peter in 1996.
In 2004, the killer blow came when he branded climate change “poppycock”.

Bellamy said at the time: “From that moment, I really wasn’t welcome at the BBC. They froze me out because I don’t believe in global warming.
“My career dried up. I was thrown out of my own conservation groups and I got spat at in London.
“I was due to start another series with the BBC but that didn’t go anywhere and the other side [ITV] didn’t want to know. I was shunned. They didn’t want to hear the other side.”…

11 Dec: BBC: Naturalist and presenter David Bellamy dies at 86
His colleague, David Shreeve, described him as a “larger-than-life character” who “inspired a whole generation”.
In later life Bellamy, who lived in County Durham, attracted criticism for dismissing global warming.
In 2004 he described it as “poppycock” – a stance which he later said cost him his TV career…
BBC arts correspondent David Sillito described Bellamy as “the enthusiastic face of botany on television” for more than 30 years.

In 2003, Bellamy told BBC News that he was sceptical about mankind being responsible for rising temperatures and suggested that they might be part of the Earth’s natural cycles.
He said: “We have got to get this thing argued out in public properly and not just take one opinion.”
Ten years later, he told the Independent newspaper: “It (global warming) is not happening at all, but if you get the idea that people’s children will die because of CO2 they fall for it.”…

***Bellamy’s wife, Rosemary, died last year:

22 Jan 2013: UK Telegraph: David Bellamy tells of moment he was “frozen out” of BBC
David Bellamy has described how the BBC “froze him out” when he dismissed global warming as “poppycock”.
          By Victoria Ward
The 80-yearold environmentalist and former broadcaster, admitted that his scepticism signalled the end of his career as he had known it.
“From that moment, I really wasn’t welcome at the BBC,” he said.
“They froze me out, because I don’t believe in global warming. My career dried up. I was thrown out of my own conservation groups and I got spat at in London.”
Mr Bellamy said things first began to change in 1996 when he spoke o ut against wind farms during one of his regular appearances on Blue Peter.
“That was the beginning really,” he told the Daily Mail. “From that moment, I was not welcome at the BBC.”

However, it was not until 2004 when he caused controversy by questioning whether the world was warming that his profile really began to slide.
“I worked with the Wildlife Trusts for 52 years,” he said “And when they dropped me, they didn’t even tell me. They didn’t have the guts.
“I read about it in the newspapers. Can you believe it?
“Now they don’t want to be anywhere near me. But what are they doing? The WWF might have saved a few pandas, but what about the forests?
          “What have Greenpeace done?”

Mr Bellamy’s wife ***Rosemary admitted that they had both been devastated by the developments.
“It did upset us terribly,” she said. “But we pretended not to be upset, didn’t we David? The best thing to do was not to talk about it. So we didn’t.
It’s been very difficult, because he does feel strongly about things.”

Mr Bellamy insisted that he had no regrets about being so outspoken and had not changed his opinions about global warming.
“I still say it’s poppycock,” he said. “For the last 16 years, temperatures have been going down and the carbon dioxide has been going up and the crops have got greener and grow quicker.
“We’ve done plenty to smash up the planet, but there’s been no global warming caused by man.
“If you believe it, fine. But I don’t and there’s thousands like me.”
He added: “Who cares if they’ve put me on the back burner? I can still talk to my flowers, which are all fine and growing amazingly and say, “Thank you very much, David!”

13 Jan 2013: UK Independent: David Bellamy: ‘I was shunned. They didn’t want to hear’
The botanist, 80 this week, says the end of his TV career was caused by his views on climate change. Paul Cahalan meets David Bellamy
            by Paul Cahalan
They share a name – David – and a passion for nature. For a while they also shared a place in the vanguard of nature documentary-making, broadcasting from every corner of the globe to the homes of millions. But while one, Attenborough, basks in the glow of national treasure status, the other claims he is now a pariah…

But for the grace of God he would be revered as the man who brought botany to life through glorious rambling monologues in a time before CGI graphics and hi-tech film techniques became de rigueur. But his fame and acclaim rolled off the rails in 2004 when – in the teeth of public opinion and mounting scientific evidence – he said global warming was nothing but “poppycock”. He was deserted by fans, shunned by peers and, he says, ostracised by broadcasters and conservation groups that once thrived through his endorsement: he was sacked as president of the Wildlife Trusts…

“All of the work dried up after that. I was due to start another series with the BBC but that didn’t go anywhere, and the other side [ITV] didn’t want to know. I was shunned. They didn’t want to hear the other side.” But does he still believe he is right? “Absolutely. It is not happening at all, but if you get the idea that people’s children will die because of CO2 they fall for it,” he says, ***perhaps buoyed by forecasters at the Met Office this week downgrading a prediction for global warming to suggest that by 2017 average temperatures will have remained about the same for two decades.

“Someone even emailed me [at the time] to say I was the worst paedophile in the world, basically saying I was killing children by denying global warming,” he continues, “but in the last 30 years crops have got greener and grow quicker.” CO2 acts as a fertiliser, he tells me, “and that is good news but we don’t get”. He can’t resist dragging his namesake into things, saying David Attenborough “was on our side [denying climate change] at first but then he had a change of heart”.
But, I ask, what if you are wrong? “Then I’m wrong. But I’m not.”…

His relationship with the environmental lobby remains ambivalent: outspoken attacks such as the above did not ingratiate him, and nor did his dislike of wind turbines.
But is he happy? “I have been very lucky. I have a beautiful wife and family. I didn’t think I would ever do it but I did and it got thrust on me.”
How does he view his work? “I don’t know. People still know me but now they say, ‘David Bellamy? I thought you were dead’.”

12 Dec: Breitbart: James Delingpole: RIP David Bellamy – Nature TV Star Cancelled by BBC for Climate Change Wrongthink
(He made it even harder for himself by campaigning for Britain to leave the EU: he once stood for the Referendum Party, a UKIP prototype, against then-Prime-Minister John Major.)…

Bellamy remained one of very few television celebrities to speak out against the global warming scam.
There have only been about three, in fact. Another of these heroes, Australian poet and broadcaster Clive James — similarly vilified for his scepticism — died last month.
Now the only one still with us is former children’s TV presenter, mathematician, and musician Johnny Ball (whom I interviewed here (LINK) for my podcast).

As I wrote (LINK) in the Australian Spectator:
“It requires courage to defy the climate alarmist establishment because the penalties for dissent are so great. If you’re a scientist – as we learned from the Climategate emails – it means being bullied and ridiculed by your peers, denied promotion or tenure, shut out of journals or, as in the case of Professor Peter Ridd at James Cook University, sacked on trumped up charges of ‘academic misconduct’. But if you’re a celebrity dependent on the goodwill of the luvvie establishment it can mean the end of your career.”…

Compare and contrast the blessings and rewards heaped on those prepared to swallow any doubts they may once have had and convert to the green religion. While Bellamy’s career tanked when he expressed doubt about climate change, David Attenborough — a former sceptic, according to Bellamy — became a global icon after he draped himself in the mantle of climate change alarmism.

There’s a lesson in there somewhere — but not, I hope, the one that the Greenies imagine it to be.
              Mark 8:36 puts it best:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

David Bellamy never sold his soul.

another COP fiasco. not quite how Geterres intended it, but CAGW was designed by and for the benefit the richest & the rent-seekers. lots of laughs:

12 Dec: AP: UN chief warns against ‘survival of the richest’ on climate
by FRANK JORDANS and ARITZ PARRA
Failure to tackle global warming could result in economic disaster, the United Nations Secretary-General warned Thursday in Madrid, as negotiators at the U.N. climate talks remained deadlocked over key issues.

António Guterres said unrestrained climate change would allow only the “survival of the richest,” while former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the “absence of leadership” from Washington was a big obstacle in the talks.
“It’s very difficult to get this done if the United States of America isn’t there,” the veteran diplomat told The Associated Press during an interview in the Spanish capital, adding that he felt negotiators were holding their breath until the next U.S. presidential election at the end of 2020…

Asked about Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s recent assertion that his country was part of the “Pacific family,” the economy minister of Fiji responded that “when you have family members you also have some black sheep members too in the family.”
“At the moment, it would seem that they appear to be far from eating at the same table,” Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum told reporters in Madrid, adding that he hoped Australia would “let go of their current position.”…

Separately, two former top U.S. officials signaled that in the absence of leadership from the U.S., Beijing had an opportunity to champion global leadership in fighting climate change if the world’s second largest economy reconsiders its current promotion of coal.
“It would be down to China’s everlasting credit if this policy of financing the construction of so many new coal plants in other countries could respectfully be reviewed and reconsidered,” Al Gore, the former U.S. vice president, told China’s top climate official in Madrid, Vice Minister of Ecology and Environment Zhao Yinming.

(John) Kerry, who as the U.S. top diplomat paved the way for the Paris accord by brokering a U.S.-China climate agreement in 2014, told the AP that Beijing’s reliance on coal “will undo a lot of the good that’s been done,” but added that Chinese involvement in fighting climate change “is critical.”
He also said the Trump administration’s trade war with China is dragging possible solutions to the fight against climate change.
“The absence of the United States to work with China as an effective partner is a huge loss to the acceleration process we need,” he said. “It really is sad to see our country absent in many ways in terms of leadership.”

    what a laugh:

11 Dec: TheFederalist: Hillary Clinton, Chris Steele Allege Boris Johnson Is A Russian Stooge
Given his dismal track record, it’s stunning that Christopher Steele has again surfaced, just before the U.K. election that will decide Brexit, to claim that Johnson is a Russian asset.
    By Willis L. Krumholz
They are no less than implying that current Conservative (Tory) Prime Minister Boris Johnson is a Russian plant. And it’s no mistake that these allegations are being made just before a U.K. general election on December 12 that will decide the fate of Brexit.

It started last month, when the U.K.’s leftwing Guardian newspaper reported the existence of a secret report (LINK) that said the Russians spent five years “cultivating leading Tories including Johnson…” The 50-page “dossier” from the U.K.’s intelligence and security committee is “based on analysis from Britain’s intelligence agencies, as well as third-party experts such as the former MI6 officer Cristopher Steele…”…

Right behind Steele is Hillary Clinton, who is saying to the British press (LINK) that it is “shameful” the U.K. government won’t publish Steele’s report before the election. She also told the BBC that she’s “dumbfounded” (LINK) that Johnson’s government could get away with not releasing the report, allegedly damaging to Johnson…

Back to Clinton: in the same interview with British press, she went on to say that Russia was “pumping out propaganda” in the United States in 2016, and implied Russia is now doing the same thing in the United Kingdom…READ ON

    the laughs keep coming!

12 Dec: Fox News: Nancy Pelosi says the media have become Trump’s ‘accomplices’: ‘All they do is enable him’
    by Sam Dorman
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., views the media in a way that will likely make conservatives’ heads turn, portraying them in a new interview as “accomplices” of the president.
“I do think that he was assisted by the communications industry, not just Hollywood, but the press as well, because all they do is enable him, and that is really a sad thing,” she told The Hollywood Reporter (LINK) in an interview published Wednesday…

“I’ve said to ***many of my friends*** in the press, ‘You’re accomplices, whether you want to be or not,’ [and they say,] ‘If he’s saying it, then it’s news.’ I don’t think it’s news, but it monopolizes the airwaves,” she said. “So there is a lot of responsibility to go around in terms of the creation of whatever that is in the White House.”
Actress Olivia Wilde had asked Pelosi about Hollywood’s role in creating President Trump and producing the current political environment.
Former NBC anchor Campbell Brown and others have similarly suggested the press helped Trump…

“Pelosi declaring the press ‘accomplices’ simply for covering the president of the United States is deranged,” Dan Gainor, Vice President at the conservative Media Research Center, told Fox News.
“Journalists are the biggest supporters of impeachment in the world already. What more would Pelosi have them do, ban the president from news outlets? Has she ever heard of the First Amendment?”…

Wilde ended the interview by telling Pelosi that speaking with her was a “dream come true.” “We are behind you completely and just thank you for everything you’re doing every single day,” she said.
When Pelosi suggested Wilde would draw a big crowd at political events, Wilde offered her support. “Yes, I’m there — tell me when you need me, I have your back,” she said.
Pelosi told Wilde to tell her mother, a former congressional candidate, “hi.”

I wouldn’t put it past the greens and the UN to reverse their arguments and blame any coming cooling on CO2 and fossil fuels. They will stop at nothing to impose carbon taxes and to reduce western living standards to third world levels. Then China will have middle eastern oil all to itself… The Petroyuan is their plan to rule the world. Farfetched? Maybe… or not.

    WOW !

This UK election looks like beyond our wildest dreams

Of the 68% of seats decided, Boris has over half of them. !!

Could he actually end up with a majority ! 🙂

What a WIN for common sense.

Now all Boris has to do is take the pragmatic, sensible, economic and scientific approach to “climate”,

and scrap all there idiotic emission targets and “unreliables” subsidies..

Ah no, the UK is solidly in the grip of hysterical climatism –converting Drax to burn imported wood pellets is its ABC (anything but coal) signature folly.

As is all of Europe they are protected from living with the consequences of their idiocy by the ability to import energy from the world’s most interconnected electrical grid known as the “synchronous grid of Continental Europe”.

You reckon it’s tough fighting the RE brain dead in Oz? They’re an insurmountable obstacle in Europe.

Exit poll indicates biggest election for a generation
The prediction shows voters handing the Tories a whopping 364 seats with Labour collapsing to just 203
The result would mean a huge 78 Commons majority and be the worst Labour showing in modern history

Excellent, looks like Brexit is unstoppable now.

As long as it doesn’t end up as Brexit lite which is the way he started. The other thing is that Boris is a closet green so don’t hold your breath while waiting for anything on ‘climate’ to happen.

Funny thing about climate or weather, whatever it is that you call it — no matter what Leonard Nemoy or any one else thinks, no one, not even the great Captain James T. Kirk, conqueror of the universe can change what’s going to happen. And our job remains what it always has been, cope with it.

Maybe it’s hard or maybe it’s easy but we have the same job we’ve always had. And I can’t believe that the species now beginning to contemplate not just missions to Mars but colonizing Mars can’t deal with an ice age.

Cheer up. Necessity remains the mother of invention.

Climate alarmists love to play the game, is climate change real? They ask this question of anyone they suspect of being a ‘denier’.Of course the answer has to be ‘yes’ because the climate always changes, it always has and it always will. The alarmists then feel like they’ve had a win, look smug and scream for more to be done to reduce carbon emissions, despite their question having nothing to do with carbon emissions. This is the politics of climate change.

The correct questions to ask are: Do you believe that an increase in CO2 causes global warming and what evidence do you have for your answer? To this day there is still no physical evidence that CO2 causes global warming. There is a hypothesis that CO2 causes global warming based on computer models which are continually proven wrong by empirical evidence. For example, there has been no significant sea level rise in Sydney harbour for the past 120 years. Unfortunately, instead of questioning whether the hypothesis that CO2 causes global warming is correct or accepting that empirical evidence has falsified the hypothesis, the computer models are simply re-worked to try and predict the future climate. How long will this continue before people accept the hypothesis that CO2 causes global warming has been falsified by empirical evidence? How many more billions of dollars will be wasted on climate change before reality is accepted?

“The ultimate test for a climate model is the accuracy of its predictions. But the models predicted that there would be much greater warming between 1998 and 2014 than actually happened. If the models were doing a good job, their predictions would cluster symmetrically around the actual measured temperatures. That was not the case here… “ Dr. David Henderson and Dr. Charles Hooper from the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
