I am generally against the Australian system of compulsory voting because people who have no clue or interest in politics are forced to vote but there is not too much voter fraud. The solution is to ban mail in votes as lacking anti-fraud measures while alowing absentee voting where there are checks. Some States (California etc) will try to over rule Trump and leave themselves open to claims of vote rigging and re-elections.

How do we know that there is not too much voter fraud? There has been a report of one voter voting 15 times! It seems he was a resisdent of a Nursing Home, so he probably didn’t vote at all (someone else did).

The vision is for America to be a net exporter, so how is that withdrawing from the world, when we need the world to do well in order to buy American products?

I read recently an appraisal of the China verses the World situation, America and its close allies are together a formidable combined military force of enormous power and influence.

At the Gympie Historical Society Queensland there are records relating to a Chinese ship wreck and related settlement established at Tin Can Bay, southern end of Fraser Island but on the mainland East of Gympie.
Apparently the orders to the fleet were that if any ship was sunk the survivors would stay where that sinking occurred if possible and of course if not killed.

Being the worlds policeman is not a role that’s in the best interest of Americans and preferring not to fight the wars of others is not a symptom of isolationism, but one of sanity. Besides, most of the trading partners we care about don’t need, or want, us to police them. Going after those who attack us or our allies is righteous, but preventing factions who have been enemies for generations from fighting each other is a fools errand and a waste of resources. They need to work things like that out for themselves, but if it interferes with our best interests, watch out.

A typical modern interviewer; instead of asking questions he talks about himself and his feelings and what he sees or feels instead of simply asking questions and then shutting the hell up and allowing his subject to answer.
There was a time when an interviewer’s place was simply as a moderator whose job was to get the subject to express himself as openly and as much as possible. Look at any interview these days and 60% of the content is the interviewer talking, not the subject. Constant interruptions and every effort being made to guide the discussion in a certain direction or set up a gotcha moment.

That said, if what he sees and feels match the current emotional zeitgeist then he’s going
to establish a connection with the audience. Any subsequent relief / reassurance he displays
