      “Dosing

“Ivermectin Sheep Drench is formulated only for administration to sheep; do not use in other species. The recommended dose level is 3 mL of Ivermectin Sheep Drench, containing 2400 mcg ivermectin, which is sufficient to treat 26 pounds of body weight.
      Advantages

“Unique chemistry-unrelated to existing formulations. Because Ivermectin Sheep Drench is chemically different, cross-resistance is unlikely in parasite strains which may have developed resistance to other wormers.

      “Broad spectrum effectiveness:

“One low-volume dose effectively treats and controls many gastrointestinal roundworms including Haemonchus contortus), lungworms, and nasal bots.

Anybody know any Victorians we can pass HCQ info onto?

It seems Victoria is determined to head off the cliff and keep the place in perpetual lockdown so that its economy is completely destroyed, while ignoring the rapidly-being-proven HCQ option.

Talking to a relative who is a leftist, they swear black and blue the iffy WHO is the font of all knowledge….wow…..scary….

We have to rename “Stokholm Syndrome” to “Melbourne Syndrome” now….

As predicted – absolutely zero consideration of HCQ, but its alllll about a vaccine….
As per the globalist agenda found on http://www.wef.ch

      https://www.smh.com.au/business/the-economy/health-versus-economy-trade-off-isn-t-a-solvable-equation-20200808-p55jvq.html

“Donald Trump and others may have argued the cure shouldn’t be worse than the disease but the renewed outbreak in Victoria, whether it’s a “second wave” or an acceleration of the first, underscores the reality that, until there is an effective and widely-distributed vaccine, there is no cure for either the virus or the economy.

So are govts appearing to be holding their populations effectively hostage…likely long enough to make Victoria a 3rd world nation, for something a bit worse than a bad flu?

Or worse..they trot out some nasty concoction they have sitting there for ages….no thanks.

What was the name of that city in germany where they had those trials after WW2?

Speaking of weather, it is apparent that the MSM is dodging all reporting of the exceptionally cold weather in many parts:

Tried Googling cold weather Australia for the last 24hours, and got nothing related to these remarkable temperatures.

Coldest in Australia was reported on Channel 7 in Melbourne and ABC has a news report:
        https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-07/record-low-temperature-at-coldest-tasmanian-town-liawenee/12533394

Michael Lasko from the Bureau of Meteorology said the Liawenee temperature was 2C colder than the town’s previous record low of -12.2C, made back in 2013.

But it is only weather and BoM will recalibrate the temperature meter so it can never go this low again.

It does not matter from a global perspective because it will get homegenised out of existence; like all other temperature records that do not match the models.

    then after that
2-7-2017   Humans emit more than 250 billion tonnes of chemical substances a year in a toxic avalanche that is harming people and life everywhere on the planet.  “Earth, and all life on it, are being saturated with man-made chemicals in an event unlike anything in the planet’s entire history,” says Julian Cribb, author of ‘Surviving the 21st Century’ (Springer International 2017).  “Every moment of our lives we are exposed to thousands of these substances. They enter our bodies with each breath, meal or drink we take, the clothes and cosmetics we wear, the things we encounter every day in our homes, workplaces and travel.  Mr Cribb says that the poisoning of the planet through man-made chemical emissions is probably the largest human impact – and the one that is least understood or regulated.  https://phys.org/news/2017-02-scientists-categorize-earth-toxic-planet.html
    …………………..
USA, Brazil and India use tremendous amounts of chemical poisons, and the inhabitants’ immune systems suffer greatly.  Hence there is much less resistance to a virus pandemic.  -r
    ……………………………………………….
In the U.S. however industry dug in, seeking not only to discredit the research but to cast pesticide companies as a solution to the problem. Lobbying documents and emails, many of which were obtained through open records requests, show a sophisticated effort over the last decade by the pesticide industry to obstruct any effort to restrict the use of neonicotinoids.  Bayer and Syngenta, the largest manufacturers of neonics, and Monsanto, one of the leading producers of seeds pretreated with neonics, cultivated ties with prominent academics, including vanEngelsdorp, and other scientists who had once called for a greater focus on the threat posed by pesticides….
“Position the industry as an active promoter of bee health, and advance best management practices which emphasize bee safety,” noted an internal planning memo from CropLife America, the lobby group for the largest pesticide companies in America, including Bayer and Syngenta….The stunningly successful campaign has kept most neonic products in wide circulation in commercial agriculture as well as in home gardens. The result is a world awash in neonics — and massive profits for companies such as Syngenta and Bayer, which now counts Monsanto as a subsidiary.
Millions of pounds of the chemical are applied to 140 commercial crops every year.  In the U.S. nearly all field-planted corn and two-thirds of soybean use neonic-coated seeds.   https://theintercept.com/2020/01/18/bees-insecticides-pesticides-neonicotinoids-bayer-monsanto-syngenta/

Absolutely. 1000 billion green thumbs. Endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, microbiome killers, etc and the total effect is much much greater than the sum of the parts. Much more harmful to people with depleted detoxification pathways and inflammation than healthy people but taking a toll on everyone’s health.
Life span has increased because of clean water, sanitation, diet, heating and cooling, and medical care which overall may extend peoples lives but causes much chronic illness. Also not being killed in wars as much.

I’m guessing it refers to the enzymatic breakdown of toxins (or biochemicals that at some point in their cellular or circulatory location and in some level of concentration can be toxic) and the excretion or re-use of the breakdown products. Metabolic pathways go by many names including “detoxification”.

In Victoria, the very left Green government responsible for 17 deaths just today has passed a law on July 1st to charge any employer with criminal manslaughter in the case where someone in their charge dies as a result of criminal negligence.

So when are they going to charge Premier Daniel Andrews with murder, up to 17 people a day. Because he refused to use the police or the army and decided to spend the money better on his friends? For other causes apparently, like pleasing other people and if the people of Victoria are being now patrolled by the police instead of the hotels, that’s their fault.

The Age and others are already trying to dilute the blame to individuals in departments but it was the decision from the top to not use the police and not use the army to create a safe way of quarantining which caused the problem. And who quarantines anyone with a lethal disease in the central shopping area of the second largest city of Australia? Was it cheaper? Why not in the country? All the old quarantine centres were and are a long way from town. Who decided to house them in the city? So they could go shopping, as they did.

Now the Victoria Police charged and convicted Cardinal Pell without any evidence whatsoever, investigated him a year before any complaint was received and in fact trawled for complaints. The Victorian judges convicted him without evidence with the complainant only on video, because it was too stressful apparently.

This state of Victoria has been utterly wrecked by Daniel Andrew’s uncaring self serving and total incompetence and criminal neglect. Climate Change did not kill Victorians with bushfires. Neglect did. And prosecution and fining of anyone who tried to make the place safer. And banning cattle in the high country. All to please his friends. Now it has gone too far. With great power comes great responsibility. This totally unqualified incompetent needs to be made responsible.

And the Victoria police who are having to clean up his mess by enforcing lockdown on every household and shutdown of every business would not be too pleased at cleaning up his mess. A declared total disaster which should never have happened. And everyone knows it.

If any employer needed to be tried for the deaths now of hundred’s of people, it is Daniel Andrews. And he says he is solely responsible, so we have admitted guilt.

    Action please.

The law? Victoria’s new workplace manslaughter offences.

Bushfires and Corona virus. The duty of care has been breached totally and multiple times over a long period. 17 deaths just today. Utterly avoidable. And the critical decisions are made at the top by the one person with the authority, Premier Daniel Andrews, someone who has no qualifications at all in behaving responsibility and needs to account for his total failure in the duty of care to hundreds of people who will die or be badly injured.

As the biggest employer in the State of Victoria by far, he needs to be accountable to our criminal courts under his own laws making employers responsible. He needs to be charged with hundreds of counts of manslaughter, including the bushfires.

And the Cedar meats fiasco during Ramadan where someone decided the public did not need to know. It was discovered by accident weeks later by a nurse who three times treated a man who lost his finger. Without any knowledge that Wuhan Flu had been traced weeks before to a worker at the abattoir. This 60 year old nurse also contracted the virus but it went to the press. And it turned out that not only did they know about the abattoir a month before, the owner had given $14,000 to the Labor party. So even then the name of the company was kept a secret. And they doubled their staff. And of course the worker could not possibly have contracted it at work or given it to his friends, so nothing was done.

Now we want answers. Was a favor called in?

And the bushfires. Only five died this time but it included two Victorian Government employees. The low toll was also partly thanks to Federal intervention when they sent in the Navy to rescue people from the beach.

This has been explained as ‘Climate Change’ due to an alleged massive increase in temperature when in fact Royal Commissions have found no such result. And we in Victoria have had years of cool summers in the affected areas.

The real failure of the Victorian government under Daniel Andrews was to implement only a fraction of the burn back mandated by numerous Royal Commissions. It is culpable homicide, actively creating the conditions. Plus the active pursuit with the full force of law of anyone who even tried to reduce the fuel load or pick up sticks in the forest, is also culpable.

For too long giant employers like Daniel Andrews have ducked their duty of care. Now he must be charged with many counts of manslaughter, under his own laws meant to punish negligent and irresponsible employers like himself. This is entirely Daniel’s idea too.

He should resign immediately. Along with his ministers. There has never been a tragedy on this scale in the history of the state! The double talk, ducking, sub judice claims and the rest are typical. They should all resign. This is now a massive criminal not civil matter, under their own laws. The police must act.

And put a responsible professional team in charge. Who is to say that we are better off this time if he is not held accountable?

Forget the Ruby Princess. Victoria is the Costa Concordia. Utterly unnecessary and a direct result of irresponsibility.

And the people of Victoria are locked in their homes. And the businesses are shut. And we could run out of food. All totally and utterly due to now criminal negligence. It has been six months of hardship, no work, no business. All due to the decisions of Daniel Andrews.

He should understand the new workplace law. He wrote it.

Like Bill Shorten, the route to power is not through having a job, but climbing the slippery pole inside the Labor party. Most people have had a job with real responsibility. Not Shorten or Andrews. This is the new species of professional Union sponsored politician who have never had to have a job with any responsibility for the welfare of anyone outside the union. And they spend their time and our money buying votes and favors so they can keep their high paid jobs.

The Labor party ought to insist that being a member of a Union has to mean more than filling out a form. They actually have to do some work and get some experience in the job. And we have ministers who are equally unqualified. Jenny Mikakos with Arts and Law degrees is “Minister for Health, Minister for Ambulance Services, Minister for the Coordination of Health and Human Services COVID-19” without any idea of what to do in the biggest health crisis since the Spanish Flu but with a PhD in avoiding questions or responsibility.

It is emerging that the hotel quarantine mess is the product of a woke government and its employment inclusion policy rather than its links to to the AWU. There were some interesting comments from the Federal Treasurer yesterday:

Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg says it is up to the Victorian government to explain how and why the hotel quarantine program broke down following evidence emerging that the selection of private security guards was partly driven by an attempt to provide jobs under “social inclusion” policies.

      https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/treasurer-ramps-up-attack-on-victorian-hotel-quarantine-amid-social-inclusion-revelations-20200808-p55jvd.html

It appears Australia’s highest paid Premier is falling out favour with politicians Australia wide. He is proving to be a sad joke as a leader; constantly apologising for the restrictions but never apologising for his own errors. Always claiming the police do not like fining people for breaking the law when that is exactly what they are paid to do; uncover law breakers and correct their irresponsible behaviour.

There is no restriction on movement in the state. Anyone can claim to be a drug addict in need of a lawful fix 24/7. However it appears that BLM less now because you can no longer claim a march for that cause as a suitable reason to break the law.

Sad joke doesn’t cut it. There is now a law about costing lives through incompetence, negligence, intransigence. It will be for a criminal court to decide. That’s the law in Victoria, Daniel Andrews Social Justice law. A law to make the people at the top responsible for their actions. And as a criminal matter, the statute of limitations does not apply. So the bushfire deaths count as well.

Back in 2017, the increasing electricity prices were primarily blamed on overspending on poles and wires

“The main reason customers’ electricity bills have gone up is due to higher network costs, a fact which is not widely recognised. To a lesser extent, increasing green costs and retailer costs also contributed,”

Fast forward to 2019, and it seems that there has been a bit of a problem connecting all these solar and wind generators spread out through the countryside where the power lines aren’t up to the job of delivering to the grid – in fact the flow of power is being reversed.

“The issue also underlines the need for efficient investment in new poles and wires to relieve the strain on the existing network, which is rapidly becoming congested. This remains one of the highest priorities for our industry,”

Move on to 2020 with uncontrolled wind and solar development in the West Murray Region, and:

    – increased risk of uncontrolled oscillations and voltage issues should a major transmission link fail.
    – curtailment slashed tens of millions of dollars from the revenue of the five solar farms
    – AEMO halted the connection process for around two dozen different projects
    – AEMO has warned that it will only connect “as many as that can be connected securely”
    – new capacity in the West Murray region will also depend on finding a solution to the “system strength” issues

    followed by:

AEMO previously warning that over the long term capacity issues were only likely to be solved with new transmission capacity

So the solution is more spending on poles and wires. Will that reduce our power costs?

    140

      Analitik

This has been a long time paradox in the renewables lobbying for far earlier than 2019.

They expect a copper plate network capable of transmitting all power generated to any point in the country so that the wind that is always blowing “somewhere” will generate electricity that is usable, thus rendering baseline power requirements through thermal generators as a “myth”. And then they launch into the waste of electrical engineers “gold plating” the transmission network through over-investment in “poles and wires” since they see residential solar as providing all the power needed.

I guess some twisted logic could be made of this by stating that the whole country should be heavily interconnected and local network capacity should be pared down but then where does that leave people wanting to charge their electric cars? All nonsense but try explaining that to the mathematically illiterate lefties.

‘OGLE has reported something strange. Six times, it has spotted very brief microlensing events, less than 0.3 days long, suggestive of very fast-moving objects between 0.5 Earth masses and 20 Earth masses zipping past stars. This isn’t how planets look to OGLE, Unwin said, and there’s good reason to suspect that the six objects might be primordial black holes.’

What I meant to say is that god in his infinite wisdom left behind a small black hole knowing that when humans reached a certain degree of civilisation they would see it. Obviously this is theoretical, the black hole is a key to unlocking the universe and overcoming the tyranny of distance.

We know its there because of the ‘clustering’ that is happening, so the new satellite should give us a clearer picture of this force.

The other theory going the rounds is that its an invisible mother ship the size of Neptune.

            It’s matter and it’s dark.

Just look up at Sagittarius any moonless night and you’ll see millions of cubic light years of it. There’s so much of it you can’t even see the Center of the Galaxy.

I came across these articles about the flu last year. Deadly indeed, but not given a daily scorecard like the COVID flu. Why were politicians and health bureaucrats missing in action last year when they should have put Australia into lockdown (sarc)?
Australia on track for killer flu season

Most deaths from the flu occur in people aged over 65, and are usually from complications such as pneumonia, heart attacks or stroke.
Professor Booy said in a busy year, there were a number of people who would be expected to get the flu and die from it.
“This year (2019), we expect the flu to kill at least 4,000 people which is the same number as deaths from suicide and the road toll combined,” he said.
Professor Booy said most years, 12 Australian children died from the flu.
“If we had a high rate of immunity in kids, it would also stop the spread of the flu to susceptible adults,” he said.

“Influenza experts say Australia is experiencing a “moderately bad” flu season that has likely reached its peak already after starting early this year.”
    Updated 11/07/2019

REPORTED CASES OF LABORATORY-CONFIRMED FLU AND ASSOCIATED DEATHS SO FAR IN 2019

    * 135,952 cases nationally
    * 298 deaths
    Source: Department of Health (federal)
    LATEST AVAILABLE STATE-BY-STATE DATA**
    * SA – 19,964 cases, 82 deaths
    * NSW – about 43,000 cases, 70 deaths
    * VIC – 25,969 cases, 50 deaths
    * WA – 17,640 cases, 48 deaths
    * QLD – 23,947 cases, 38 deaths
    * ACT – 1595 cases, fewer than 5 deaths
    * NT – 1079 cases, 4 deaths
    * TAS – 1390 cases, 1 death

And I leave the last word from Professor Booy and the Medical Republic website on this year’s influenza situation, dated 28 July 2020:

There has not been one recorded death from influenza in Australia since May, suggesting hundreds of lives may have been saved by measures taken to halt the pandemic.
    ………………
Around 1000 people died in Australia last year (2019), with cases rising rapidly from May, according to Department of Health figures obtained by The Medical Republic.

Flu deaths flatline thanks to COVID

The H1N1 virus, the ‘flu’ is an echo of the original Spanish Flu which killed 37million and perhaps 100 million.

It is time in the 21st century that we stop these flus and all viral contagions at the airport and cruise terminals. We are an island.
Otherwise we get the latest strain from winter in Europe, as is self evident that no one has died in Australia since May. Although Victoria may yet change that.

Hundreds of Australian flu deaths have been avoided this year because of the lockdown measures used to prevent the spread of COVID-19, experts say.
      Key points:
Australia has not recorded any flu deaths since April, with only 36 deaths recorded this year compared to 430 in the same period last year.
Experts say school closures, physical distancing, hand hygiene and border closures all played a part in reducing the number of flu cases.
There was also an uptick in influenza vaccinations this year, with 2 million more doses being administered.
In total, from January to the end of June 2019, more than 132,000 people were diagnosed with the flu.
This year, almost 21,000 people were diagnosed during the same period.

    Electricity consumption ??
A few days Ago , on the “Wind power failures “ thread.. Stephen P posted this link to a “Dashboard” for power usage in the UK.
    http://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/
I was surprised to notice that the average Total Demand on the UK gris is only approx 25GW, with peaks only in the 30-35GW range.
This is not much greater , if any, than Australia ??
Why is this so , when the UK population is more than double Australia’s and i am sure they have much more industrial activity and electrified transport systems than Au ! Not to mention the cold weather !
    Any thoughts ?

UK lost its last aluminium smelter in 2009. UK produced 8Mt of steel in 2019. UK mined 4Mt of coal in 2016.

To put this in perspective. China produces about 35Mt of aluminium a year, 808Mt of steel and mined 1829Mt of coal in 2018.

UK is fundamentally a financial services economy; lots of economic and law graduates. It is only this year, following Brexit, that New York has overtaken London as the global financial capital.

I’m starting to lose my respect for new millennium engineers – they must like a complicated life.

Last millennium, the east coast electricity grid was designed around:
        – using a high energy-dense source of fuel (coal or gas) that could reliably supply power when needed,
        – adding a 25% overcapacity to cover for breakdowns or unexpected usage spikes,
        – building the power stations as close to the main population centres to minimise transmission losses and
        – running lower capacity and cheaper infrastructure out to the regional areas.

        The new millennium engineers choose:
        – the lowest possible energy-dense means of generating power (wind and solar) which is unreliable and unlikely to cover peak load periods,
        – add another 100%+ overcapacity to cover periods of low generation due to weather variability,
        – have to cope with massive overcapacity during windy, sunny days,
        – locate the generation assets hundreds of kilometres away from the main population centres with attendant transmission losses,
        – have to upgrade regional transmission lines to cope with the distant generators, and
        – work out how to stabilise voltage and frequency variations.

It’s hard to understand new millennium thinking. They must never have been taught the “KISS” principle.

It’s hard to understand new millennium thinking.

Weather dependent electricity generation creates a massive employment opportunity for a wide range of engineers. An increasing proportion of economic activity is being directed at weather dependent generators and all the add ons that make them technically possible.

Just about every discipline of engineering has benefited from jobs created by the massive effort needed to go from a few coal power generators located near coal mines to the massive geographical spread needed for ambient energy collection and conversion to feed an electrical transmission network.

Most electricity bills are testament to the huge effort involved and Australia is getting about 3% of its energy from weather dependent sources. It may not be evident to many but moving down the path of weather dependent generation inevitably results in the entire economic activity being directed at creating the devices that extract the ambient energy and converts it to useful output. The cycle can only go on providing there is coal needed to produce the devices. The devices themselves, solar panels, wind generators, batteries etc can never produce more energy than that needed to produce them.

My mother-in-law was living in a regional NSW town that had the honour of being amongst the first to have NBN rollout. All she wanted was a simple, reliable phone that worked like the one that she used for the last 50 years of her life, and worked even when the power to the house went out. She did not want or need the internet.
No choice – the copper was gone. In its place, electronic devices/modems with about 2 hours battery backup. When she complained about the need for a reliable means of comunication, they gave her a mobile phone.
A few months later, we tried to call her with no luck – tried again for a few more days and started to worry about her health. Called the local police who went around to check for us (many thanks) and she was fine. There had been a power event of some sort and the modems did not reset properly. Her mobile phone was flat – she never thought of having to charge it up because thats not what you do to phones – they just work when you need them.
Is our power system going the same way?

I’m starting to lose my respect for new millennium engineers –

You cannot blame the engineers for this mess,..the decisions are political.
Engineers have developed solutions for using most of the known energy sources, Fossil (HELE, GAS, Biomass, etc) as well as various Nuclear options including Fusion just around the corner.
But its the Politicians ..manipulated by financial interests….that make the key decisions.
The fault is mainly ours for electing these decision makers.
Maybe if we had a few strong minded , influential, engineers,.. like Brunel, Bradfield, Ford, Royce, Mitchell etc….things might go a different direction

Yes Chad. I was going to say that. As an EE I can say that I get to decide nothing. If the government gives the option of building Solar, Wind or Tidal then you just do your best.

The problem is actually that it’s the wrong people making those decisions. You CAN make solar work even as a baseload power source if you are prepared to waste enough land and are prepared to waste enough money to store electricity (Which is notoriously difficult to store).

The UK Government’s horrendously inadequate record with Covid-19 continues with news that track and trace work is not going to local authorities whose staff would actually not only know their locality but also know what they are doing. Instead the work is being outsourced among the Government’s favoured private companies e.g. Sercol and Sitel, whose history includes the earliest forms of call centres in England, which some have rightly suggested started a huge decline in customer services.

Sercol and Sitel then further outsource this work on sub-contracts to just about anyone interested to get extra cash into their accounts, even, so it would appear, telephone based travel agents. Apparently after a few hours of online training you can be set loose upon a newly discovered Covid-19 victim to ascertain where they have been and who they with and tell them to self-isolate if they haven’t already done so. The Government gleefully rid themselves of responsibility at every opportunity and just do not want to admit that for many years local authorities actually did a fine job with track and trace of infectious disease. And we think this virus is something of a monster …

It saddens me that if and when the truth comes out that there were possible effective treatments for C-19 that the government refused to allow to be tested or used, that it is unlikely that the guilty will be punished.

        PETER F:
The UK has those lunatic electricity policies that you advocate. Cheap, reliable coal has been punished with taxes and restrictions meaning that wind, solar(??) and diesel have been favoured, along with very expensive nuclear (if it is ever built). The cost of electricity has shot up and it is cheaper to use gas for heating, and even cheaper to burn wood – which leads to more particulate pollution in the air. Drax, their largest coal burning power station, has stopped using the coal from directly under their foundations and ships wood chips from 200 year old growth forests in the USA to burn** (resulting in 32-33% overall INCREASE in CO2 emissions).

I thought that readers might like a little literature.
I doubt that the name of Leonard Wibberley will resonate with readers but you will recognise at least 1 of about 100 books he wrote — The Mouse that Roared. (not closely related to the film of the same name with Peter Sellers).

In all he wrote 5 Mouse books before his death in 1985 and the last in the series was The Mouse on Wall Street from 1969. It opens with the USA trying to find a way to end the turmoil in Afghanistan, while at home university students riot about a lack of respect for various causes of no great import.
The plot involves the Duchy of Grand Fenwick with a problem, an investment had suddenly become profitable and the Duchy was flooded with money. The decision led to the downfall of the government as it opposed handing out money to everyone. The new government, despite warnings, eliminated income tax and gave every citizen money, with the promise of more to come. The result was that everyone spent the money and went into debt for more. Inflation took off, and the cost of producing goods for export shot up, meaning they became unsaleable and the balance of payments became disastrous, with resulting unemployment (necessitating more expenditure).
More money arrived in the next year and in desperation the (coalition) government decided to lose it, and what better place than on the stock market. A series of ‘hopeless’ purchases went badly wrong when their intentions were misunderstood as signalling ‘inside knowledge’, and instead of losing money, they gained much more. They decided to buy gold which in turn caused problems with the value of the USA dollar slumping. Eventually they converted the whole lot into dollar bills and secretly burned the lot. The Duchy was saved!

I’ll probably get myself arrested due to all the governments reliance on housing industry and the massive taxes they collect. As I would like to put an inquiry to the police of this massive fraud by the real estate industry to keep house prices forever increasing even with all these massive layoffs and closed businesses and empty office buildings
The Real Estate Board in Canada is made up of Realtors and not at all independent in the housing market. They constantly come out with increased housing prices that has never fallen in 17 years says one realtor. Last week, they reported housing prices on average increased by almost 20% to over $950,000 for the average house. All our governments complain about the high cost of housing and yet encourage it through all kinds of government programs that they need money for.
Even with this revenue drop, they are reluctant to slash any of the bloated government agencies and programs.

      Hmmm!

I recall that, in USA, land was a better long term investment than blue chip shares.

That lead to having two sets of books – a land one that showed steady appreciation and supported the extending overdraft on the, say, cattle book which occasionally showed a slight profit,

Until about 1984-85 when land values went A over T.

Just how do you figure that “board” dictates the price of property ?
It is not like buying a car, where manufacturers and dealers set a price point.
Property price changes simply reflect what buyers are actually prepared to pay after negotiation with sellers.
Unless you have a particularly phuked up , out of ballance, property market, the only thing setting property prices is “Suppy and Demand”.

Their is a vast array of games being played to encourage price wars from putting a property vastly below market for a price war to outright colluding with other realtors in listings strategies.
One realtor teamed with a house buyer company to undercut bids and change these cheaper houses into rental duplexes. Imagine having a realtor tell you the higher bid could be from a scammer or they don’t seem to can afford your property to get you to take this lower bid.

You would think that should be lower pricing but these realtors use adjusted data…meaning they choose price increases is always going up and increase that accordingly across the board.

Mr. Trump has issued a flurry of executive orders.
They are probably pretty dodgy and unlikely to pass constitutional muster, but they are
directly responsive to critical issues we face that congress seem stalemated over.
It is worth pointing out that most Democratic Governors are much less in comportment with the constitution
with their various nanny state orders.
We are truly suffering a fine madness.
Our political arguments, always absurdly hyperbolic, are about to become completely untethered from reality.

Expect the left to claim that Trump is out to destroy Social Security, second only to damaging children in their list of favored tropes.
He is reducing a tax nominally used to fund this program, which in fact has been part of the general fund welfare system for years, the
“trust fund” being neither trustworthy nor funded.
They will claim he is bypassing congress by refusing to “negotiate in good faith”, which means giving in completely in the Demons dictionary of the left.

But it’s gonna be a tough argument. ‘Trump is trying to help people, and we want him to stop so that we can do it.’ Not exactly a bumper sticker for the ages, is it.

What the argument is actually turning on is a simple point; the left wants, as emergency relief, a slush fund large enough to bail out bankrupt cities and states, and
especially public employee pension funds. The stress of Covid will force some jurisdictions to finally actually choose between current services and employees and retirees on
gold plated defined benefit plans. For years the left has pretended these pension contracts are sacred and non-negotiable. But as some famous economist undoubtedly once said,
if it is impossible to make a payment it will not be made.

If a single jurisdiction is able to renegotiate the dam will likely break. Citizens will be aghast if the true value of these pensions make the headlines. The greed of those who govern us, when set against current needs and tax levels, is not a good look. The other choice is to dramatically reduce current government employment. This is, of course, also
    unthinkable.

This slush fund for the cities and states is the non-negotiable sticking point in our impasse. If congress debates around affirming or improving the Presidential edicts, it will be hard to shoehorn this back in. And it is really hard to camping on honestly.

Watch for the movie “100 euphemisms for The Government needs more money” coming soon.

And Pelosi and Schumer will hit the roof. Bypassing them and their stalling on Coronavirus relief. This has been the continuing story of 2020. Stalling response to the virus intially. Stalling the articles of impeachment, for no reason at all. Stalling the first tranche of relief. Stalling this one. And Trump has bypassed them. It’ll be Pelosi hands on hips again, looking angry because Black Lives Matter and they matter and who is this Trump anyway. Damn these popular populists. What would the people know anyway? Flu deaths are dramatically down although we now have C-19 deaths.

Nevertheless, deaths due to respiratory infections, flu + C-19 are dramatically down so that is a good thing.

Australia C-19 deaths to date: 295
    Australia flu deaths 2020 Jan-Jun: 36
    Australia flu deaths 2019 Jan-Jun: 430

This is assuming C-19 deaths were correctly diagnosed but I suspect some or many were cases of people dying with C-19 rather than because of it, or totally misdiagnosed altogether. A bit like climate data. Genuine C-19 deaths may well be less.

And the uncontrolled arrivals will have brought the flu with them as well. The brutal Victorian lockdown may deal with that as well, at least stall it until the spring and warmer weather.

In the new world, viruses are caught at the airport, as used to be the case before this no care travel. With only the warning of the China controlled WHO to save us. Except that Tedros Adhonem is still saying the virus is not Chinese and that it may never be cured. At least he is no longer insisting it is not infectious and there is no pandemic. Why is he still in the job?

If only they had a UN carbon (sic) tax on cattle #761 …

“The work involved digging up skeletons in an ancient cemetery in Osłonki, Poland, along with associated artifacts.
The researchers then studied the bones, looking for nitrogen and carbon isotopes.
In all, the team studied the remains of 30 people, all adults between the ages of 18 and 45.

As a final step, the researchers also studied the bones of cattle found in the same area from the same time period.

They found that some of the people had been buried with pendants, headbands and copper beads, a hint that they may have been from more privileged families.
But that was not enough to provide evidence of a wealth gap.

The team then noted that those same people who had been buried with nice trinkets also had a distinctive ratio of carbon isotopes in their bones, which was also observed in the cattle, suggesting that those people were eating the local cattle.

Those people buried without such trinkets did not have the distinctive carbon isotopes ratios, suggesting that they did not eat the local cattle.

The researchers also note that the carbon isotope ratio in the cattle suggests they grazed on open field grasses because it is the type of ratio typically seen with modern cattle with access to wide-open, sunlit fields, as opposed to cows who eat plants growing in partially tree-shaded areas.

Taken together, the findings suggest that those people buried with trinkets who ate local beef likely belonged to land-owning families—families that had access to more of the good things in life than those people buried without trinkets, providing evidence of a wealth gap.”

Briefly today I revisited Twitter for the first time since signing up in April 2010 and was not surprised to learn that the premier has 232.9K followers which is roughly the same as Albo; it’s a consideration I had omitted from my wishful thinking that he’d be gone by the end of July. No, this bloke is going to continue sticking it to us and has now dragooned the hapless Mikakos into announcing a program to test in their homes people who never leave it –did I hear that right?

Think that should make you question WHY?

    From https://www.sott.net/article/439511-EXPOSED-World-Bank-coronavirus-aid-comes-with-conditions-for-imposing-extreme-lockdown-reveals-Belarus-president

Huge foreign loans are given to sovereign nations by the World Bank, IMF and the likes. But the conditions that come attached to these loans are seldom told by governments to their citizens. A recent case in Belarus has exposed the conditions laid by these agencies for loans being provided for COVID-19. The President of Belarus has exposed that the World Bank coronavirus aid comes with conditions for imposing extreme lockdown measures, to model their coronavirus response on that of Italy and even changes in the economic policies which he refused as being “unacceptable”.

Additional conditions which do not apply to the financial part are unacceptable for Belarus, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said when speaking about external lending during a meeting to discuss support measures for the real economic sector on the part of the banking system, reported Belarusian Telegraph Agency, BelTA.

Aleksandr Lukashenko asked the participants of the meeting how things were with the provision of foreign credit assistance to Belarus. “What are our partners’ requirements? It was announced that they can provide Belarus with $940 million in so-called rapid financing. How are things here?” the head of state inquired.

At the same time, he stressed that additional conditions which do not apply to the financial part are unacceptable for the country.

“We hear the demands, for example, to model our coronavirus response on that of Italy. I do not want to see the Italian situation to repeat in Belarus. We have our own country and our own situation,” the president said.

According to the president, the World Bank has showed interest in Belarus’ coronavirus response practices.

“It is ready to fund us ten times more than it offered initially as a token of commendation for our efficient fight against this virus. The World Bank has even asked the Healthcare Ministry to share the experience. Meanwhile, the IMF continues to demand from us quarantine measures, isolation, a curfew. This is nonsense. We will not dance to anyone’s tune,” said the president.

IMO The international financial institutions look like they are coordinating a world reset on banking, finance, industry and food.

New Zealand, New Covid Community Transmission Cluster, update
    ==============================================
The Four person family cluster in South Auckland has yielded 13 more — 3 at place of work, 7 of their family members and a few unrelated from the place of work.

The cold storage warehouse — a place for documents and goods benefiting from low temperature storage, which is also a favourable environment for viral transmission — is the place of employment for the index case. A home care point of contact is being investigated.

New Zealand’s Covid-19 elimination status — how to regain and protect it?

Experts say studies support mandatory mask wearing in public spaces where heavy breathing may occur: gyms, choirs, churches, and dancing, for example. This strikes me as a sound suggestion.

The PM is expected to update on the raised alert status in New Zealand at 5:30PM on Friday afternoon.

Our fine host here, Joanne, advocates the goal of Covid-19 elimination. Australia is learning how easy it is to lose this status. But how hard is it to keep it?

WA and other states and nations are wrestling with the challenge, too. And after 102 days, New Zealand lost it, too.

For others in the world curious about the reaction to the hope New Zealand has held out, before the new cluster of community transmission was identified, here’s a lengthy roundup:

Again, a quarantine breech is suspected to be the source of the new cluster, Details from the New Zealand Herald. Confirmation expected soon; text and 1:39 video

My suspicions are that the PM on Friday will announce some plan or a timeline slated to narrow down the breech and establish confidence that breech can be plugged and the threat level lowered again.

Problem-solution time. And performance demanded, given that there is an election is only weeks away.
