In an age when words are a dime a dozen it’s good to have a new one that has some meaning, even if only for those of us here on the blog. Just in case; it’s pronounced, Chewensday.
Tuensday, the day of the most important election of our age.
Every country has its swamp, but the U.S. Swamp could be on the verge of being drained and turned into a beautiful parkland, we hope.
Trump seems unconnected to the Republicans and Democrats who currently inhabit the swamp and is well placed to do right by the average American;
and if it happens it might show other vaccilating pollies that it might be wise for them to straighten up too.
It would only take a few pollies to not read the message and get “shipped out” , then we might see a return to decency and duty in our politicians.
Under the American system the President has relatively little power. The doctrine of “no kings.” He or she is not even an MP much less the PM. I touch on this here: https://www.cfact.org/2020/07/30/bidens-false-climate-promises/
Biden cannot do any of the drastic things he promises. The most he can do is beg Congress to do them.
Congress has most of the power and unfortunately the Presidential show has made that fight invisible.
The President does not have the power being universally attributed, Trump, Biden or Harris. Trump repeatedly tried to change agency funding and Congress simply ignored him.
The future of America does not depend on who the President is. We are much stronger than that, by careful design. The hysteria is unfounded (just like with climate change).
Trump failed to drain the swamp and managed to add a few losers to it, such as the head of the FBI, Christopher Wray, and the head of the CIA, Gina Haspel. among others. Wray Stonwalled the Hunter Biden investigation and Haspel stonewalled Republicans in the Senate seeking information on the origins of the fake RussGate haox.

Maybe I misinterpreted, but “the swamp” is mainly Democrats working within the Federal bureaucracy, and a few Republicans too. When information was available for the 2016 election a HUGE percentage of Obama era bureaucrats donated money to Hillary Clinton (something like 95% or 98%), and rarely to Donald Trump. Few of all federal bureaucrats were appointed by Obama, so that can’t be the reason. The reason has to be the “deep state” is staffed mainly by Democrats.

good point that the administrative swamp is populated by Democrats but my comment was very general.
The other pool in the swamp, to my way of thinking, involves politicians who use their position to run their own private businesses from the power base they’re connected to.
Here in Australia I find it hard to separate the main political partis in terms of their addiction to the swamp and am constantly amazed at the brazen use of position to boost their own fortunes.
It’s a wonder that they have time or energy left to do anything for the electorate.
Big things dont happen in 4 years. Between Clinton and Obama the Dems had the Presidency for 16 years and never did much about their beloved “gun control”
It is a big big day for all Americans and also for most of the rest of the world. Currently 11:30 on the West Coast and 14:30 on the East Coast
What is happening?
I copy just two comments from the Conservative Treehouse:
Reporting from the downtown area of the Peoples Republic of Chicago:
All the polling locations are virtually empty — more workers than voters. I heard this from several friends and saw it for myself at my precinct location in Merchandise Mart (ward 42). I voted just before 11am and was voter #75. Normally I’d expect to be around #200 at that time.
I think this is a sign of two things: (1) a bit more early voting / vote-by-mail this year due to all the covid hysteria, and (2) a shortage of enthusiasm to cast votes for Sleepy Joe. Hopefully more of the latter.
and
Went to vote this morning. HUGE lines. And in my area, there are MANY polling locations and they were ALL filled with people waiting in lines. I decided to be clever — headed into work and then come back just before lunch.
Care to guess what I found? HUGE LINES. It NEVER STOPPED! So I relented and got in line.
The ballots were created by the voting machine and they created printed (human readable) and coded (machine readable) cards which were then carried over by the voter to a single card reader which checked it for errors and then filed the cards away….
All things said, I have a high expectation of accuracy from these votes.
Well at least Democrat cheerleader pollster Nate Silver is sounding more positive. He just posted this on Twitter:
“Starting to fall down the Florida election day turnout rabbit hole. Already went for a run so I think I’d just better go and play some FIFA or something.”
Measuring “noise” and decibels” is simply deceit and misdirection.
The real problem is the inaudible vlf, very low frequency, pulsing which entrains the human autonomic nervous system and causes heart attacks and horrible damage.
Never trust a politician: remember how that Brown Tasmanian Greenie got rid of the planned windmills from his area.
I wrote two articles on wind turbine infrasound “noise” in summer 2019 and they turned out to be my most popular climate science articles that year. I don’t know why. Perhaps the 17 n u d e photos of Melania Trump in her 20’s boosted page views? Last month I had writer’s block one day, so I combined the two articles into one, and fixed some of the 372 spelling errors caused by my spell checker. It is located here:
When your heart beats at about seventy beats per minute supplying blood to the ANS, and when pulsing air from wind turbines can enter your lungs we have a problem. The wind turbine pulsing can interfere with the brain. The largest organ in the body is the skin: it feels the pulse and sends a confusing message to the ANS to add to the confusion offered from the lungs.
All wind turbines are anti human neural interference machines and this fact has been cleverly disguised for decades as a simple noise problem.
It is not noise: it is dangerous VLF pulsing that puts people in a horrible sea sickness mode of existence while being close to a Heart Attack.
One problem is that local councils only have a dBA sound meter fitted with a curve that only measures sound energy in the human hearing range, so won’t include sound energy in the low-frequency infrasound range. To properly measure infrasound energy you need an entirely different measuring apparatus, and AFAIK there’s nothing available commercially off-the-shelf.
Most sound meters have C-weighting which is close to a flat frequency response (down about 10dB at 16Hz.) and will work for infrasound but the flat Z-weighting is better.
I believe the A-weighting rolls off the bass at 12dB/octave below 50 Hz. My inexpensive sound meter from the 1980s has C-weighting and A-weighting. Still works. I use it to make sure the overall sound pressure level of my audio system is never loud enough to cause hearing damage.
But, you actually need a narrow band spectrum analyzer to determine which bands of frequencies are loudest. The sound meter hears everything (sound pressure level of all frequencies combined) I have not seen one designed for frequencies under 20Hz. because they are intended for home and studio audio use. But that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
The measurements need to be made inside the home where the internal room bass resonances can make the “noise” inside louder than it is outside the home.
With A-rated sound meters, and A-rated noise regulations, and sound pressure levels only measured outside of homes, the windmill noise makers / bird shredders get off easy.

Huge sunspot may launch solar flares toward Earth in the next two weeks
One of the biggest sunspots in years is emerging on the sun today. Hours ago it produced a C-class solar flare and a minor radio blackout over the Indian Ocean. This sunspot, if it holds itself together, will face Earth for the next two weeks as it rotates across the face of the sun, potentially setting the stage for a sustained stretch of solar activity.

Over just 50 years wind turbines would need to be replaced about every 20 years. Would the after tax profits/dividends be worth replacement of equipment?

Thanks for your excellent summary Richard. Professor Mariana Alves-Pereria has noted some disturbing medical issues related to infrasound in her presentation : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu8z7dyQA9Y.
The resonance frequency of elements of the human body is covered well in this article: https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/human-body-resonant-frequencies.501607/.
Also this study outlines some areas of the body affected by infrasound: http://notrickszone.com/2017/05/31/new-study-sees-new-health-risk-to-humans-from-wind-turbines-micro-seismicity/
Abdomen (4-10 Hz)
General poor feeling (4-9 Hz)
Chest (5-7 Hz)
Impact on breathing (4-8 Hz)
Shoulder area (4-5 Hz)
Bent knee (2 Hz)
Arm (5-10 Hz)
Spine (10-12 Hz)
And a good explanation of sound measurements using different weighted curves, including the difference of A-and C-weighting, is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-weighting.
