Herding the Democrat school of fish toward civil war

Hypothetically, if someone were trying to divide a nation this survey is Paydirt

It’s almost like a team is winding up the young and impressionable, stoking their fears. Republican Voters worry about policies, but Democratic voters are just scared of Republicans.

h/t David for the “school of fish”.

Look at the top four concerns:

Matt Margolis, PJ Media

According to Kristen Soltis Anderson, the cofounder of Echelon Insights, Democrat voters are more concerned about “Donald Trump’s supporters” than anything else.

Democrats survey, fear Trump supporters

Democrats

Democrats are less concerned about policy issues than they are about people with whom they disagree politically. To them, Trump supporters are more dangerous than Islamic terrorists, a more pressing issue than gun violence, and even more important than issues that affect their various constituencies, like discrimination against LGBT Americans, sexism, student debt, alleged voter suppression, etc.

To these voters, Trump supporters are a bigger issue than all of those and more. Imagine being a store owner minding your own business and thinking that the Democrat voters around you think you are a bigger issue facing this country than anything else, even more than the issues that directly affect their own families.

Who runs the national conversation — the media, the tech giants. Who controls the fish? No one and everyone. They are just following the cues fed to them every day on TV and Facebook. Once the ripples of hate start, they are amplified by “Friends.”

Meanwhile the GOP worry about foreigners, taxes, and media bias

What don’t you see on the chart? “Joe Biden’s supporters.” And why not? Because Republican voters clearly care more about real issues. Democrats, on the other hand, are still obsessed with Donald Trump and the people who voted for him. They would rather whine about Trump than actually solve the problems facing this nation. That’s why Democrats went through not one, but two bogus impeachments.

Republicans' greatest fears. Survey.

Republican’s greatest concerns.

If someone were fomenting fear the last thing they’d want is a healthy national conversation.

The SCOTUS is also obsessed about Trump going by the recent rejections of a large number of election related lawsuits, which according to Clarence Thomas, one of the judges in the SCOTUS, allows constitutional issues to remain open to further abuse in future elections, which in turn risks the nation having another civil war. Democrats must hate the US Constitution so much they are prepared to smash it and risk a civil war. So they are the real enemy of the West, not China nor Russia. China and Russia must be laughing at us more than ever.

I would not think the SCOTUS would be obsessed with Trump as 6 of the 9 Justices were appointed by the Republicans with three of the six, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Barrett being appointed by Trump.

Trump’s lawsuits were rejected due to lack of evidence and the incompetence of Trump and his lawyers and if SCOTUS is intent on smashing the Constitution it will be because the 6 Republicans used their 6 to 3 majority and chose to do so.

Weren’t the cases not allowed to proceed due to the complainants being ruled as having ‘no standing’?

The arguments for/against fraud/corruption were never considered as the evidence was not allowed to be presented, regardless of who sits on the SCOTUS.

No Ian. The cases were not accepted for a hearing and no evidence was ever heard. The excuse of “no standing” was used. Now that the election is over SCOTUS still refuses to hear them on the grounds that they are “moot”, that is, it is too late to change the election. But as one of the judges has said, forcefully, it is not about the last election, it is about ensuring confidence in future elections.

A leading disqualification, as expected, seems to be that the cases were not filed in the split second between ripeness and mootness. The US needs eight more Clarence Thomases who interpret the Constitution, not societal entrails.

You cannot draw any conclusion about the evidence or the lack thereof when every case has been dismissed as lacking standing.

This just seems like a lazy way for the court not to look into the grievance. What’s the point of a law if you can just out yourself from even taking the case?

          From wiki:

In law, standing or locus standi is the ability of a party to demonstrate to the court sufficient connection to and harm from the law or action challenged to support that party’s participation in the case. Standing exists from one of three causes:

          1. The party is directly subject to an adverse effect by the statute or action in question, and the harm suffered will continue unless the court grants relief in the form of damages or a finding that the law either does not apply to the party or that the law is void or can be nullified. This is called the “something to lose” doctrine, in which the party has standing because they will be directly harmed by the conditions for which they are asking the court for relief.

          2. The party is not directly harmed by the conditions by which they are petitioning the court for relief but asks for it because the harm involved has some reasonable relation to their situation, and the continued existence of the harm may affect others who might not be able to ask a court for relief. In the United States, this is the grounds for asking for a law to be struck down as violating the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, because while the plaintiff might not be directly affected, the law might so adversely affect others that one might never know what was not done or created by those who fear they would become subject to the law. This is known as the “chilling effects” doctrine.

          3. The party is granted automatic standing by act of law.[1] Under some environmental laws in the United States, a party may sue someone causing pollution to certain waterways without a federal permit, even if the party suing is not harmed by the pollution being generated. The law allows the plaintiff to receive attorney’s fees if they substantially prevail in the action. In some U.S. states, a person who believes a book, film or other work of art is obscene may sue in their own name to have the work banned directly without having to ask a District Attorney to do so.

In the United States, the current doctrine is that a person cannot bring a suit challenging the constitutionality of a law unless they can demonstrate that they are or will “imminently” be harmed by the law. Otherwise, the court will rule that the plaintiff “lacks standing” to bring the suit, and will dismiss the case without considering the merits of the claim of unconstitutionality.

You cannot draw any conclusion about the evidence or the lack thereof when every case has been dismissed as lacking standing.

You can however draw conclusions about the competence of the various legal teams. Lack of standing means it was probably the wrong case, with the wrong prima facie evidence, on behalf of the wrong person, maybe at the wrong time, and likely in the wrong court.

Trump’s law suits were rejected because no judge wanted to reverse a presidential election and be responsible for the scortched Earth response expected by an insane political left.

It was all about saving the institution, not protecting the integrity of our elections.

There was pressure applied to some judges in the form of threatening their families. These were reported in the news.

I believe some judges were bought off, and I believe some judges “wanted” this outcome.

There was more than enough evidence to proceed. Their fear of riots or harsh words spoken against them wasn’t grounds for dismissal of a case, that is absurd. There was more likely real fear of physical reprisal going on in the background. There were too many people dying mysteriously just before the election, which seems to have been a continuation of the Epstein death. I’m sure they’re all related in the background.

            I will reply.

I am not new to court cases.
I have stated before that I have been involved in coronial inquests.

To accumulate the evidence, review it, investigate it, so that the case can be prosecuted and stand up in court, takes time.
In my experience, up to 18 months.

            Trump had 2 months.

Imho, Not enough time to waterproof the case.

            Was Trump robbed… I don’t know.
            Does he have evidence… probably

Imho, He just didn’t have the time to make his case watertight.

I cannot say that Biden got the Presidency, fairly or not.

The evidence must be investigated. Without prejudice.

            A scoreboard means nothing.

            TT,

There’s a plethora of evidence, especially with regard to what local officials did in defiance of the Constitution in order to change election laws and make it easier to cheat in a undetectable manner. There can be no doubt that there were illegal ballots hidden under the table and counted after the watchers were sent home under false pretenses.

You need to pay attention to what the idiots on the left are saying about this. When they claim that needing to show citizenship and verify identity suppresses voting, they are right only to the extent that illegal voting is suppressed. It will still always be trivially easy to vote legally.

As far as I’m concerned, you should pass a civics test in order to be qualified to vote. The many low information voters are undermining our free society and are so misinformed, they don’t even realize that they are doing this largely because they are being bribed with the illusion of free stuff in exchange for their freedom.

Have you seen HR1? It basically requires all states to use every method possible to enable voter fraud.

They get all bent out of shape about this because their policy ideas are destructive to the country and if information was properly disseminated and elections were fair, these Socialists now in control of Democratic party would loose by a landslide every time. They must cheat in order to gain and sustain the power and this cheating includes collusion with a far left media.

If you’re connected to Trump, SCOTUS has 4 outcomes for you, take your pick:

      1. You brought the case too early.
      2. You brought it too late.
      3. You don’t have “standing”.
      4. It’s a moot point, so get lost.

If you’re connected to Trump, SCOTUS has 4 outcomes for you, take your pick:

This reflects a serious misunderstanding about how the US Supreme Court operates. It does not ever hear primary evidence – it is an appeals court and hears cases where there may be constitutional issues, or a lower-court judge has failed to apply either constitutional law or precedent properly.

The SCOTUS is not a simple court of last resort – it is a very high-level appellate court. There was nothing from the Trumpy (hopelessly All Seasons) legal team that even got close … they were sock puppets. Donald Trump got what he paid for – which was rubbish.

The current composition of the SCOTUS is six of the nine justices were appointed by Republicans, three of which were appointed by Trump, and three were appointed appointed by Democrats. Trump’s lawsuits were rejected as they lacked evidence and were poorly prepared by Trump’s incompetent lawyers.

If as you suggest SCOTUS is prepared to smash the Constitution any smashing that occurs will be due to the Republicans not the Democrats.

I definitely agree saying it repeatedly will not make anything come true. But the facts are that the evidence was not considered adequate by judges up and down the US. These judges gave written reasons explaining why the evidence was not adequate. These reasons are easily available for you to check.

          https://theconversation.com/in-trump-election-fraud-cases-federal-judges-upheld-the-rule-of-law-but-thats-not-enough-to-fix-us-politics-152060

This piece below is from this link. I think you will find it supports my contention that the evidence was inadequate

“The legal assault on the election was spearheaded by attorneys who were willing to file suits based on unsupported suspicions and beliefs to perpetuate the president’s populist regime by any means necessary. These groundless suspicions and beliefs – bellowed loudly and often by the president and his entourage – may have gotten traction in politics, but they got none in courts of law. The judiciary’s firewall withstood the populist bomb that President Trump detonated.

It is a common counter claim to say these claims of fraud have been weighed and rejected, but this is not so. Courts trat them as radioactive and try to remove them from the docket expeditiously through technicalities. Nonetheless, I have tried to point readers to a most interesting article in Salon from 2016, when the worry was that Trump would undermine the election, entitled, Election Fraud Chicago Style.

            A revealing quotation is this.

Joe Novak, a longtime Chicago political operative who knew the intimate details of the election system, explained in 2002 that election fraud still worked the way it had for years. “Precinct captains still like to control the vote by pushing absentees.” The captain goes to a retirement center or other places where the elderly gather and gets a signed statement from a voter that they can’t make it to the polls on Election Day. The captain can tell the voter how to vote. The idea is “Captains like to be ranked No. 1” in their ward organization. Alderman Joseph Moore from the Forty-Ninth Ward added, “The captain will offer to take (a completed absentee ballot) downtown for you.” “Until they tightened the rules a few years ago,” Moore said, “it was common to see captains bringing in buckets full of ballots.”

In the 2020 election Democrats worked like beavers to loosen the rules Joseph Moore speaks of nationwide. There is no way to claim, credibly, that the election was completely fair. Had Democrats not engaged in ad hoc rule changes where they had power to do so, I’d have felt better about the outcome.

I’m sure in the wilds of Chicago politics, such “ballot harvesting” was undertaken just as much by Republican ward bosses as it was by Democratic ones. Democrats have also (rightly) been very leery about voter suppression that Republicans have undertaken since at least the 1960s.

It’s not clear why those who believe there was provable election fraud make this huge distinction between a technical loss (“no standing”), and a loss on the merits (“no credible evidence”). In both cases – and there were definitely examples of both – the loss reflects the general incompetence of the Trump lawyers, and other sundry pro-Trump lawsuit filers.

Lack of standing means you filed the wrong argument, at the wrong time, on behalf of the wrong party, and probably in the wrong court. It still reflects either incompetence or political grandstanding, and usually weakness in the cases themselves.

And an important technical note: the Supreme Court does NOT hear evidence at all – its role is to review cases where there is unsettled federal law, or there is a claim made that a judge in a lower court did not follow the Constitution or settled law. The Supremes hear brief arguments along these lines … they do not hear evidence as such – they are a court of appeal only.

There is one exception: if there is a dispute between two or more states that involves federal law, the SCOTUS acts as the umpire in such cases. This was the avenue pursued by Texas in taking on Pennsylvania over a vote counting issue.

However the Supremes immediately saw the weakness of this, and Texas was not granted standing, because it was not a genuine inter-state dispute (over water or commerce or some such). And just as importantly, the two most conservative justices (Alito and Thomas) would have allowed the case on the inter-state grounds, but they STILL would have denied Texas a result on the merits of the case. Effectively it was 9-0 against Texas. Ouch.

Because Donald Trump (and everyone else) could not convince a single state or federal court to take up these cases, then the reasonable position to hold – as I do – is that there was no election fraud on any scale large enough to alter the results.

I think it does. Our school system has been taken over starting with the Frankfort School in the 1930’s and continues through Pres Roosevelt’s New Deal & WWII, through the 1960’s and exploding again under Obama. The most recent blow to freedom and our way of life was the Democrats stealing the 2020 election and promoting the insurrection using the MSN & Tech Giant propaganda to coverup the ANTIFA and BLM riots and the radicalization of our federal courts, and the Democrats blaming anything and everything on Pres Trump and his supporters.

Socialism is presented as equality, fairness, free education, free medicine. Who doesn’t want that? There are good sides to socialism as promised but socialist is also what totalitarian governments call themselves. Just give up your freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, freedom of religion, freedom of movement and all your cash and you will be free. No more patrimony. No more meritocracy. Just autocracy.

And you could use China, North Korea, Cuba and sadly Venezuela as examples of freedom. The only difference with Fascism is that the mega rich stay rich, a plutocracy like Russia. Equality in socialism means equally poor but educated and imprisoned with no rights and no hope. America is the sworn enemy of many countries, especially Iran. Convincing Americans they do not want capitalism or even freedom is an amazing achievement of our internet masters.

Socialism, must include everybody with no opt out clause. If people decide they don’t like it once they realize what it does to their freedoms, when (not if) they want to opt out, the whole scheme collapses.

It always follows the same pattern:

        Socialism is adopted.
        But doesn’t work very well.
The socialist say then your not doing it right or enough.
The remedy for the ills of socialism is more socialism, but it still doesn’t work very well. The Great Leap Forward for example.
The problem is the people who are cheating the system, they then say.
The heretics are then silenced and/or persecuted. A cultural Revolution for example. Modern N. Korea for example.
The end result is a classless society in that everybody (except the elites) are equally poor. The elites have all the amenities of capitalism because they get to practice it, with a little a trickle down economics getting through through black markets. For example, modern China.

Even Marx understood that it would take an totalitarian state. The Taiping Rebellion (actually a civil war consuming more lives than World War One and lasting 14 years) broke out tying to establish socialist principles only 3 years after the Communist Manifesto was published. Karl Marx himself wrote Op Ed articles critical of the Taiping Rebels. He did not criticize the war because of the human suffering it caused, but because it undermined the authority of the government and government authority would be necessary to enforce socialism one it gained power.

And class differences are presented as racism. This what the left does. They prefer to trigger emotional responses then to convince with logic and reason since logic and reason is usually not on their side.

Emotion is a primitive brain response, while logic and reason are a higher order brain function that will often necessarily override emotion.

A symptom of brain calcification is the replacement of logic and reason with knee jerk emotional responses. This the most likely reason for why Biden so easily succumbs to the insane policy choices his Socialist handlers promote.

“Socialism is presented as equality, fairness…”

The equality and equity argument is a major focus point for the Marxists drive to change the system. What they essentially claim is that it’s not fair that some people choose to work harder than others to improve their personal prosperity. Of course capitalism is based on this very principle which is the carrot that provides the incentive for people to get out of bed at a horribly early hour for at least 5 days a week and contribute for both themselves and society to the maximum of their potential. If you take away this carrot the entire system collapses to one where we all become sea gulls looking for a handout.

Everything you say is true, Democrats are afraid of Pres Trump and they believe other MSM & Tech Giant propaganda against Pres Trump and his supporters.

Firstly, it is former president Donald Trump – President Biden won the 2020 election. And secondly, I don’t think Democrats would be at all displeased by Donald Trump’s big hint at CPAC that he might run in 2024. Trump is a divisive figure within the GOP – and there are a lot of Republicans who would prefer not to have Trumpism as their core.

They know they cannot win with just the MAGA faithful … 2018 and 2020 prove that.

Five years of anti-Trump bias on the mainstream media had its intended effect. I’m proud to be among the hated, rather than being a ‘hater’, as most leftists are. We know how to be happy, while they are always miserable. How can anyone be happy while hating half the people in their own country?

Well, we are a constitutional federation, and state governments do retain a very wide range of powers – notwithstanding the increasing influence of the federal government, essentially since 1901.

Having said that, I’m not sure we need large federal government departments of education, health, the environment, and much else … these are allegedly state responsibilities.

Most of our politicians are GLOBALISTS.

Well, we are a nation based on exporting almost everything we can dig up or grow, in return for importing cheap flatscreen TVs and shoes. We also make serious money via international higher education and international tourism.

We don’t really have an alternative … AWA stopped making TVs in the 1970s, and we don’t make many shirts or sheets here anymore either.

      Pretty much everybody.
All of the middle east nations would love to see the US weakened.
The globalists want to bring in their own view of perfection, but they can’t do that when a country is running strong.
The socialists need to destroy society so that it’s citizens cry out for a savior. Someone who will restore order. This is how all communist takeovers are conducted.
China wants to expand its influence and activities, if not outright take over places like S. Korea.
Any country that is competing with technology, oil, food, resources, or manufacture will benefit from a weakened US. Weather accidently or incidentally. Australia included.

At least we now know what’s on the enemies’ minds. As if that wasn’t already abundantly clear.

And the Stupid Party will never even think about taking advantage of the opportunity this presents.

But is most assuredly a warning ⛔️ for the Anti-Communist forces that take this quite seriously.

Ran across this a few minutes ago. Couple of quotes from the post.

    *****
“If you want to get a glimpse of America in the near future, the first thing you must do is look to the past. Specifically, look to the last phases of the French Revolution. The Reign of Terror, in which the radical Jacobins took over control of France, has a direct analogy to the present situation in the federal government. Even better for America, however, is what happened afterwards.”
    *****

    Next:
    *****
“ Climate change is the perfect example since were all going to die unless government “does something” to forestall the apocalypse. So naturally, anyone who does not vote in favor of so – called environmental initiatives, or supports the president on his job-destroying executive orders, will become the enemy. That will be true of any of the Left’s policy desires. Oppose and die.”

Still find it hard to believe that 80 million Americans voted for the Biden Ticket last November.
Joe Biden is increasingly incoherent and verbally wandering, not taking any questions and has not scheduled a State of the Union address to the Congress, and leaving the dialogue with foreign leaders to the VP. Biden’s first month in office has seen the destruction Of the US energy security and thousands of jobs in theat industry, along with the destruction of border security along their southern border, causing a human crisis with thousands of unaccompanied minors arriving daily..
What we are seeing with the Democrat control of Government in the US is the deliberate destruction of the whole social fabric and norms that will lead to economic depression caused by those 50 odd EOS and the profligate spending that is keeping schools closed, and in red states businesses closed and everyone looking for a check from the Government.
Worse we are seeing the same ‘free money “ from our government showing up in a poll in Victoria that a large majority of Victorian want the State of Emergency to continue for another nine months. This madness has to stop!

      The Australian parallel.

Back in the late sixties things started to change and in the early seventies the strange amalgamation of the union mooment and Whitlam created the start of our demise.

Free money, the promises of everlasting Nirvana simply by voting for the appropriate leader; that was the start of our troubles.

Names like Juni, Cairns, Tirath Khemlani were common headlines until Democracy showed that it still functioned and this mob was removed.

Sadly the rot didn’t stop and we are at a serious cross roads.

“Somebody”? has quietly sold off bits and pieces of Australia to a Large Foreign Parti: Chyna.

How can our farmers’ water, our ports and an island be just ,passed over like that?

Now we are chained by the ridiculous lockdown; a fantastic control mechanism for any aspiring politician to use.

Meanwhile, there’s a country to our North, adjoining China which has over ninety million people where recorded deaths from CV19 seems to be 35.

I know that seems small but they did act quickly to isolate China, they had good doctors guiding things, there were quick short term, localised lockdowns and probably an important item mentioned by a lady posting here a few days ago:

      they used Hydrochloroquine.

At the time one of my undergraduate courses was “Material Foundations of the Modern World”. The family of the lecturer was wiped out in the Shoah. When the lectures reached the years of the Third Reich he drew on the blackboard what he called “The Evil Song of the Fish”. It went something like as follows:

        —  —  —  —  —

I’m basically a globalist because (a) it leads to better outcomes for everyone, and (b) it’s very hard to come up with an alternative. Australians buy really cheap stuff from Asia – and we seem to want to be able to do that.

However, having said that, I find it amazing how far it goes – how much of the farm we do sell off? Why is the Port of Darwin leased to a Chinese outfit, for example?

Here’s another good post. Some quotes…

    *****
In short, liberals have become what they once hated and don’t even seem to realize it. They are not the counter-culture, no matter how much they talk about “resistance”. How can you resist the very system that you are deeply invested in supporting and that in turn supports you?
    *****
What is more important, liberals today have nothing interesting to say. They are mostly middle or upper class Whites, deeply embedded in corporate consumerism, talking endlessly about racial justice. They use terms like “Latinx” that no actual mestizo uses or recognizes. They throw rocks through the windows of the same Starbucks they patronize in the name of black Lives Matter but go out of their way to not live anywhere near black people. They talk about communism but would die in a matter of days without the machinery of capitalism to provide them with their every want and desire.

Well now they have one half of the population hating the other they just have to get the other half to do the same and everything falls into place.

The two different mind sets have been glaringly obvious from the day Trump ran for office, one wanted to remove Trump anyway possible because they believed the narratives fed through politics and media while the other wanted to improve their country through Trump for the benefit of every citizen in it, and even after the many Trump successes especially economic that directly benefitted the anti-Trumpers they still maintained the rage against him and his supporters.

What we are seeing are two very different people that have existed since time began and chronicled from the Bible to Orwell through direct experiences, this basic human condition has been written as Followers and Leaders, Wolves, Sheep and Shepherds or Wolves and Rabbits etc.. where the psychological/philosophical explanation reaches similar conclusions of people wired to think a certain way about their existence, what the Democrat/Left are exhibiting is the ‘Blind Follower’ type that does so through fear of their lack of character.

Orwell’s 1984 more relevant than ever,
All that Oceania’s citizens know about the world is whatever the Party wants them to know, so how the world evolved into the three states is unknown; and it is also unknown to the reader whether they actually exist in the novel’s reality, or whether they are a storyline invented by the Party to advance social control. The nations, so far as can be inferred, appear to have emerged from nuclear warfare and civil dissolution over 20 years between 1945 and 1965.

Climate change is a high concern for Dems at 77%.
      https://mobile.twitter.com/KSoltisAnderson/status/1364614060474576903/photo/1

I guess it doesn’t appear in that Dem concern chart because that chart is based on questions only asked of Democrats. If that chart showed the true rankings of Democrat concerns the spread of covid 19 would be number 1 (based on other charts from the survey) and climate change right up there too.

It seems the survey results and associated headings are designed to misrepresent in some way.

      71

      • #

I have no information on the time period over which this survey was taken, but, like most surveys, one can find enough inconsistencies in it to discredit the responses. Simply trying to classify people as Dems/Repubs/Conservative/Liberal/Progressive/Libertarian is fraught with inconsistencies. People aren’t very good at constructing or maintaining consistent beliefs. For example, according to the twitter images you identify Dems are 87% concerned about spread of COVID-19 — GOP 55%. But spread of COVID-19 is a historical fact. It was spread thoroughly through the U.S. population after colleges reopened last autumn. The spread can’t be a real concern because it already occurred. What should matter at this point are the policies, rules, and reaction to this fact. These people apparently would see slamming the barn door after the horses have bolted as an important consideration.

It is very easy to prime a survey and get responses that are very different from not priming, but that doesn’t mean the survey or its presentation is constructed to mislead. Democrats are very afraid of Republicans/Trump supporters/Libertarians. But many Democrats are Trump supporters. There was an identical pattern of concern about Tea-Party people a decade ago, even though 15% of the Tea Party were Democrats. There is a group of Democrats who very easily accomodate all sorts of falsehoods about people of other political beliefs without evidence or critical thought. It is part and parcel of the findings of Jonathan Haight who found even longer ago that “liberal/progressives” could only inaccurately paraphrase the mindset of conservatives; while conservatives were surprisingly good at accurately describing that of liberals/progressives. It is a fact at present that we have to navigate in order to remain at peace.

        11

        • #

If it wasn’t designed to misrepresent then it is an incredibly clumsy presentation by an apparently professional organisation.
Given the supposed intellect of the people involved I assume it’s not incompetence but rather deliberate.

As for fearing the spread of covid-19 being historical. Given test results indicate less than 10% of the US population has caught covid-19, I’d suggest 90% of the population leaves a lot of spreading to do.

          31

          • #
            Kevin kilty

That 10% of the population has officially tested positive is only an lower estimate of how widely the epidemic has spread. It could easily be that the total number of cases is 4 times that or more, and the reason is that so many people have cases with such mild symptoms they hardly know they are ill. These cases are only caught in places where continual monitoring is required. Also, the disease has spread to every county in the U.S. and there are continually a few cases in the most remote of places. It has spread everywhere and did so quite a while back. My point is there is nowhere left to spread, and there are probably far few people yet to fall ill than the official “tests” indicate.

            21

            • #
              Strop

You’re referring to the geographic spread. The spread amongst people would be the concern, otherwise the democrats would be saying “hey, it’s everywhere so no lockdowns / restrictions / masks” etc.

Yo may be correct about the actual percentage of people who have had it because of mild sypmtoms. But people can only look at the known data and see 90% still haven’t got it.

While the survey in question is brutally biased it is fun.
Ask people for the answer you want to hear?
But the flaw in Our Progressive Comrades scheming is their own projections..
For apparently a conservative can position themselves in a Progressive’s shoes long enough to sample where they are coming from.
However the Progressive lacks the life skills and reality to see through a conservatives eyes.

So we are treated to endless hectoring and “learned lecturing” by the useless and clueless.

The best distinction I can demonstrate is the stages of work.
We plan work, first we talk about it,then we price the options, chose, then order the materials ,then proceed..
But not our Progressive overlords…Once they have talked about it,they consider the job complete.

Reflect on that a second, you might see I am right.

So the apparent provocations coming from the Prison on the Potomac are both weird and alarming.
The NON Tool using members of society are declaring war upon the tool users..
One group needs the other, but the inverse does not apply.

Very much like the ticks on a cow declaring that they and only they shall decide what the cow must eat.

Kipling keeps coming to mind, for the citizens of North America are slowly awakening and not in a nice way.

Same old story, fools and bandits flourish, until they degrade society to a level where they can no longer be tolerated.

Antifa are FACISTS (in capital letters), even if they claim their are against it.

They are the tool of the Globalist Ruling class FACISTS, which includes globalist corporations, unelected quasi-government globalist NGO’s and many other leftwing, as well as rightwing organizations, such as Think Tanks, media corporation’s and academic institutions.

These are all financed by a cabal of unelected Billionaires (wink-wink Bill Gates), who made their fortunes, not through honest work, but stole it from the various citizens in every country, by lobbying, actually corrupting, the political process, which hands them the loot.

The division cited, by the article above, is not an organic one, but one that was engineered for the purpose of controlling both Republicans and Democrats, which keeps the ruling cabal in place.
It is the age old divide and conquer strategy.

Republicans and Democrats voters are not really mutual enemies (The same can be said for supporters of the various parties in other countries). The enemies are those in power against ‘We the People’, they want to rule over and control.
In fact this whole leftwing-rightwing paradigm is used for the same purpose.

Fascism is a leftwing ideology, which was created by a Marxist, someone named Gentile in the early 1900’s, who foresaw that Marxism would never be willing implement outright without a stage which would ease the transition from what was termed ‘Capitalism’ to Marxism.

We need to thoroughly through out this leftwing-rightwing categorization and replace it with a system, which recognizes that a system, with individual freedom at its core value, is polar opposite to an authoritarian system (socialist/fascist or otherwise).

The same needs to be done in the economic sphere. A Free Market system (I reject the Marxist term ‘Capitalism’) is polar opposite to a State controlled socialist or fascist economic system. The latter of which creates wealth for a tiny few well connected ruling class individuals (Billionaire oligarchs), while the former creates wealth for a broad section of citizens in a country.
In fact a Free Market system and a system of individual freedoms are really the two sides of the same coin.

Simon, if we’re all against facism then why isn’t it on the Democrat concern list?

I now note that finally the completely false allegations that Trump supporters attacked Brian Sicknick have finally been acknowledged but virtual crickets from the MSM on this. How about an apology to his family? How about acknowledging that despite statements from Brian and his family vehemently denying any attacks that the MSM deliberately peddled a lie.

And how about acknowledging that the only fatality of note was Ashli Babbitt who was shot without provocation by Capitol police and we hear crickets on investigating why such action was taken. Had an Antifa supporter been shot we would have heard about it for days. (the other deaths were from unrelated health issues and one person squashed in the mass of people)

Then we hear crickets also on how Capitol Police opened the barricades for protestors to go in – why? But perhaps the answers may upset those in their safe spaces, who as we see here, just want to think Trump supporters are evil incarnate…

Peter, the family of officer Sicknick heard from him after being pepper sprayed, apparently in good condition, that evening. Later, after his death, doctors suggested stroke was the likely cause of death. But officials are distressingly mum about this. One wonders why? The Daily Mail interviewed Sicknick’s mother, seeking more. And showing more factual curiosity than the corrupt media in the US.

It was a violent insurrection initiated, not by the Trump MAGA protesters, but by a coalition of paid agitators (both Antifa and Proud Boy leftwing-rightwing goons), who made it seem they supported Trump.
This is actually also acknowledged in the TIME Magazine bragging piece.
This violent agitation actually started, while the overwhelming number of the MAGA supporters where still 1.5 miles away listening, to Trumps speech, which was 1 hour late.
It was a giant FALSE FLAG, facilitated by the action of the Capitol Police, who opened the door for these agitators, with possible collusion by some of the congress men/women inside.

The MAGA supporters where unfortunately sucked in by the momentum of the events and are now branded as Domestic terrorist.
In fact the sheer number of demonstrators prevented most of them to even enter the building itself and those that managed to enter the building, besides the anti-Trump fascist agitators, were even careful to do as little as possible damage, as numerous videos on YouTube, Rumble and elsewhere show.
This ‘Storming’ of the Capitol is definitely not the ‘Storming of the Bastille’, as it was and still is, portrait in the media. The narrative of which was created by the same people who created this False Flag.

Here is a good video by Mielie Weaver, which pieces together the timeline and people involved with the election fraud and the Capitol False Flag:

95% to 99% of Trump supporters who attended his rally did NOT walk the two miles to the Capitol building.

Of all the people at the Capitol building, many of whom did not attend the Trump rally, including some leftists, about 300 of the 10,000 trespassed. Of those 300, most did not do any damage inside the building.

Even assuming all 300 people inside the Capitol building were Trump supporters, that is 300 people out of the 75 million who voted for Trump.
      A very tiny minority.

How about all the BLM riots in 2020, with over two dozen people killed, and billions of dollars of property damage? All done by Democrat criminals.

I think everyone accepts that those who stormed the US Capitol were a minority from the loopier far-right sector of the MAGA-crowd. Even the centrists and left understand this was the case.

I guess what is unpleasant is all the conspiracy theory stuff claiming it was an Antifa/BLM false flag operation and that the “Deep State” was a party to it. This is where it goes into the realm of the surreal, and rational people quite rightly reject it.

According to Kristen Soltis Anderson, the cofounder of Echelon Insights, Democrat voters are more concerned about “Donald Trump’s supporters” than anything else.

That’s actually a false statement. According to the polling Democrats are more concerned about the spread of Covid 19.

Yes, Trump supporters do rate highly as a concern (which I find odd) but headlines and statements that it’s the number one concern are more of what the problem is, media reporting.
Given it ranks number 2, I’m not pretending it’s not significant. Just showing how false statements get used and we need to be careful about what we repeat as facts.

Imagine being a store owner minding your own business and knowing that the Republican voters around you want the return of a President who supports aggressive right wing patriots, incites violence, lies interminably, refuses to face facts, denigrates his international allies, was totally unable to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic and was booted out of office after one term.

Look at all the violence, fires and destruction over the term of the Trump presidency of top of nonsense claims and actions by the DNC against Trump. ALL public disturbances initiated and executed by ratbag dangerous DNC-aligned groups, encouraged by the left media and, most significantly, not condemned by the DNC.

Invective doesn’t really add anything to your comment Here’s a few facts to counter your inability to face facts.

        Demeaning allies
“It was just one month ago when President Donald Trump — after meeting with allies at the G-7 summit in Canada — called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “very dishonest and weak,” and refused to sign the G-7’s joint communique.

At the NATO summitTrump said, “Many [NATO] countries are not paying what they should. And, frankly, many countries owe us a tremendous amount of money for many years back, where they’re delinquent, as far as I’m concerned, because the United States has had to pay for them.”

          Ian,
As a Canadian, I will restrict myself to addressing your “demeaning allies” alleged facts. The problem is that Trump, not being a congenital politician, simply speaks the truth about the perfidy of America’s allies. Justin Trudeau is a smarmy embarrassment. “Dishonest and weak” is a mild putdown compared to what Trudeau really deserves. The “dishonest and weak” statement came as a result of Trudeau insulting Trump to the press shortly after a meeting with Trump. And as to the NATO allies, Canada included, these “allies” have long rode on the US coattails, not contributing their fair share and expecting moneybags America to carry most of the load.

As of late last year no replacement fighter has been named so it is fair to say that Canada is bludging on the US, in which case Trudeau should be more friendly.

Ian, one man’s “hate group” is another man’s Truth teller. That’s why peace is elusive in the Middle East.
As for the US, for many, many years and several presidents prior to President Trump, advocacy groups spouting fear (or guarding against minorities) held that Neo-Nazi’s and Ku Klux Klan adherents were no more than 3,000 to 8,000 in the US (Southern Poverty Law Center and anti-Defamation League data).

These numbers are inconsequential. But suddenly, with Trump, the demand for more victims mushroomed, and more and more fake instances of racism were born (or manufactured). Thanks to media rage.

And what did minorities like blacks and Hispanics do in 2020 election? Did they punish Trump? No, the voted in greater numbers and greater percentages for Trump than in 2016! If media gaslighting can’t gain their support, why do you?

So what Ian? When you want to get things done internationally sometimes one needs to talk tough! The Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau is well known for Left leaning tendencies and lack of support for anything Trump. If what Trump said of Trudeau is demeaning maybe take your complaint to Trudeau eh? It is his fecklessness that is the problem and I see nothing wrong with it being pointed out. Many Canadian citizens feel the same way! As far as NATO countries not paying their fair share Ian why do you feel they should be able to pay less than a fair share?

“Incites violence” This link isn’t BS it is headed “A comprehensive timeline of Trump encouraging hate groups and political violence.” https://www.vox.com/21506029/trump-violence-tweets-racist-hate-speech. More BS?

Again more lies. The Vox article drags out debunked fake news. The Vox article is extremely one-sided anti-Trump. Ian you call that journalism? No it is BS! Your inability to see it is laughable really. Even the Senate did not find evidence that Trump incited violence. Give me examples of Trump actual quotes that are demonstrably “racist” or “hate-speech” but you will not because there are no such quotes.

“Refuses to face facts”. He is no longer President despite his claiming for weeks that he “I won the election” for weeks. Or is that BS too?

Who’s facts Ian? The fact that Pennsylvania changed election rules illegally? The fact that there are reportedly 1000’s of sworn statements of election irregularities across many states? The fact that a Biden win requires vote count statistics that defy mathematical analysis? The fact that the counting process was hidden by election officials in many jurisdictions? The fact that official observers were blocked from their lawful right to observe? Does this strike you as a just process Ian? Regardless of your answer, it is to many people, Prima-Facie evidence of potential vote tampering or fraud. These things really happened Ian. It is not BS. Trump holding an opinion that he really won the election is not unreasonable. There has not been sufficient forensic investigation in many places. The recent Time Magazine confession of how the election was manipulated should be sufficient proof that there were anti-Trump camps willing to do ANYTHING to see a Trump loss. Anything to me includes election fraud.

What about you Ian? Are you willing to do anything to see a Trump loss?

“Unable to deal with the pandemic” This link is to an article headed “How US President Donald Trump and his administration have silenced scientists, meddled in their reports and ignored their advice.”

Hmm. Ian, does it bother you that so many “did not respond” to queries from Nature? Do you read these statements from clearly anti Trump individuals as “unbiased” reporting by Nature?

“Lies interminably” this link commences with

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veracity_of_statements_by_Donald_Trump

          More BS perhaps?

This type of libel has been continuous throughout Trumps presidency. Usually unsupported or a bald-face twisting of context. Essentially, If you hate Trump everything he says is a lie. If you like to “make America great again” he speaks the truth. The “Trump lies” is a meme that parallels the “Trump is unhinged, mentally unstable” meme that was continually bandied about by anti-Trump news. That meme was a complete falsehood. Since it was propagated by the same news sources that claim trump to be a liar, I conclude that both are untrue.

Trump is not a liar and he is not mentally unstable.

It is his detractors that wish it to be true. What about you Ian? Do you think Trump is mentally unstable? Are you complicit in propagating that falsehood too?

Maybe you should drop the invective and deal wit the facts as they are rather than as you would like them [Sic]to be

    It’s all fashion

    Consider the Democrat top concerns

Donald Trump supporters, White Nationalism, Systemic racism, Domestic terrorism, Police brutality, Discrimination against LGBTQ Americans, Sexism, Voter suppression, Student debt, Capitalism

and I have only left two out

Gun Violence and Americans lacking health coverage.

Which of the first ten major concerns were a concern at the election before last? All these desperately important and urgent things were not desperately important and urgent just four years ago. All of them fall into the class of ’cause de jour’, the latest fashion in outrage.

Conservative is thinking for yourself. Where Journalism and politics is about jumping on the latest cause de jour. Land rights for Gay whales. Now.

Who knows what the journalists and Democrats will be outraged about in four years time?

And why was Global Warming left off the list?

what happened to good old tipping point Global Warming after 33 years of imminent destruction? Has it gone forever? And how does CO2 produce Climate Change work if the world is getting colder, as is starting to look obvious to everyone in every country? And the seas have not risen in the last 33 years.

Melbourne, Victoria was not just cold this summer, it was 10C colder. We did not reach 40C, but we were close for one hour of one day in summer. Otherwise it was well under 30C. And those bushfires caused by Climate Change last year? Where are they this year? Nothing to do with fuel load then.

And in the US Joe Biden was flying to Texas to give support after the terrible winter storms. No, Joe, the terrible freezing weather at 32 degrees latitude.

Here’s how the left prioritises education.
“Boston Public Schools have shut down their advanced programs and are focusing on an “antiracist curriculum” because officials were “disturbed” that there were too many white and Asian students in the classes.
The program was for students in 4th-6th grade who were high performing and needed more of a challenge.
The problem, GBH reports, is that “a district analysis of the program found that more than 70 percent of students enrolled in the program were white and Asian, even though nearly 80 percent of all Boston public school students are Hispanic and Black.”

I found it interesting that global warming / climate change failed to rate a mention by either party. If the Republicans can create the anti green new deal narrative and highlight how climate policies are bad for the economy and energy prices and bad for jobs they will find , as in Australia , whenever a side tries to make it a dominant policy it’s political poison. The snowstorms in the US particularly Texas and the job losses from the closing of the pipeline and the ban on fracking and its impact on energy and oil independence already are being seen as highly unpopular. Wait till they bring in a Carbon Tax.
On the global warming situation I was fascinated to hear a west Australian liberal interviewed about the Liberals 2030 zero emissions target and I get very frustrated when politicians try to convince us that coal is more expensive than renewables. He argued that because as a backup source for renewables coal is very expensive to run. This is the dumbest , stupidest argument that the climate crazies make. Coal wasn’t designed to be run as a base load source and doesn’t need other forms of energy as backup. The only reason it is used in this way because their policies are favouring wind and solar. If you want to compare costs you have to compare coal as the only or predominant source compared to renewables as the major source. In a costing analysis there also needs to be the backup cost and additional network costs that have to be added to the cost of renewables. And don’t even mention about the disposal costs when the renewables reach there use by date. History has been very clear that countries that have the highest levels of renewables have the higher costs and the least reliability.
I hate it when people argue that there should be intermittent electricity as part of a mix. I ask why do you need a mix ? There is no reason to structure a future energy policy around intermittent resources as your focus. And if you really believe in the climate stuff why not have nuclear as your major source. The only reason I see for windmills and or solar are for remote communities and homesteads who can’t get access to the grid.

In my view the Leftist world-view may be summarised by one word: PROJECTION.

This is why so many comment on the phenomenon of the Left always accusing others of wanting to do exactly what they are doing.

    When one has an angelic self-image, one cannot risk having that image tarnished by internal evidence of what Jung called “the Shadow”;

“Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is.”

The Shadow involves all the negativity and hostility within an individual psyche.

And one of the main psychological defences against owning to the Shadow is projection.

The darkness is there and must be admitted to, but is safely dealt with by being projected “out there” onto innocent others.

The Trump Republicans provide the blank screen upon which the Dem/Left projects its Shadow.

Trump Republicans are not in any way a threat to the Dem/Left, but if they continue to demonise and poke them they could well become what the Dem/Left believes them to be.

    A sort of self-fulfilling philosophy.

There’s a lot of phycological issues happening, and probably multiple simultaneously.

Projecting onto others your own belief.
Self-esteem along with insecurity causes one to lash out in defense of ones ego.

Then there is their own self-righteousness, ego, and self view of their intelligence and wisdom.

They are so sure they are right, and too insecure to acknowledge any possibility that they are wrong. Let alone investigate.

It wouldn’t be such a problem if the opposition had a spine. But the political and legal spectrum is such that they are quickly becoming unopposable.

There are solutions, but none of them are nice; revolution (as in the French), socialism, civil war, other.

Basically every single item on the Democrat list was in some way an expression of disapproval of the opposition. But there is also a faint whiff of “push” polling about this survey. Some procedural questions: When was it conducted, how many participants, were the participants allowed to name their items of concern or were they presented with a selection of options? Why, for GOP voters, no “Biden voters” option? This seems like an omission. Was it not offered or not chosen?

But there is also a faint whiff of “push” polling about this survey.

I think there is rather more than a “faint whiff” about it … it stinks. To be fair dinkum you have to ask the whole sample (and how big was it?) exactly the same question, with no knowledge of their voting behaviour or party affiliation until the very end.

And most obviously, all people questioned must be presented with the same list of 24 concerns to rank. As it is it’s not telling us anything real. It’s just misinformation.
