Another waste of time with the virtual CC conference led by Mr Amnesia, Joe Biden. I note that China, as usual, is hedging its bets concerning Global Emissions…translated, it means that China doesn’t give a rat’s about it, as long as they can build as many power stations as they want. The total capitulation of the western countries to the Green Blob is most discouraging…unfortunately, it reminds me of Neville Chamberlain in the 1930s;appeasement, appeasement, appeasement.

Fortunately very little of this nonsense will happen. I have an article coming out Monday with this title: “The Biden Climate Summit — speeding up to hit the wall harder”
Enjoy the crash.

very good article.

I doubt Biden will get any of that destructive stuff. It is all up to Congress and the radicals do not have the votes.

Going to the Ballarat dawn service but haven’t registered as I believe this requirement is a violation of my right as a citizen to attend what is essentially a public funeral/memorial service.
This is a difficult decision as I deeply respect the fallen of our country but despise the cowards that hide behind false flags and a corrupt police, not wanting to offend, upset or disrespect anyone I do have an alternative plan.
The moral compass of this state has one direction which is south of a free and lawful society, I’m tired of the lies and underhanded criminal acts committed in the name of a false protection or democracy, the dead we honour today actually fought against this growing oppression and only they have seen the end of war.
270
With you all the way there.
I’m off soon.
110
Are you locked out too KK?
50
I went and stood with about 60 others at the beach.
Above us at the local fort a full ceremony was being held and someone had it on radio near us.
Everyone just stood for 25 minutes waiting for sunrise.
Very quiet and respectful.
140
That makes me happy to hear. Well done.
50
Well I turned up early to see traffic control had blocked off all streets around the Cenotaph with tall metal fencing and covid QR code boards at the entries, asked what happens if I go in without registration and was told I could but the police would be called after a brief to and fro about legalities I decided not to cause a scene out of respect for the day.
I went to the Sebastopol memorial and stood until a few minutes after six, I was the only one there, so here we are in Australia where citizens employed on a day of remembrance will dob you in for not complying to safety measures that do nothing to mitigate a threat that could have been handled over a year ago with medicines we have used for decades.
The Nuremberg Defense is wearing very thin with people fed up with gutless sheeple that question nothing and obey everything.

Here are all the major Anzac Day venues that had limited numbers requiring registration,
NSW’s primary Anzac dawn service in Martin Place is for invited guests, with limited tickets for the general public while Victoria’s Shrine of Remembrance service at 6am is capped at 1400 attendees.
ACT Health has given the OK for 4200 people to attend the dawn service and 3000 for the national ceremony.
The Melbourne Dawn Service at the Shrine of Remembrance starts at 6am on Anzac Day, with 1400 tickets available to attend the event.
The Adelaide Dawn Service at the National War Memorial starts at 6am with 2500 people available to attend.
The Perth dawn service starts at the State War Memorial in Kings Park at 6am, with 10,000 tickets available for people to attend.
The dawn service at the Hobart Cenotaph starts at 6am, with a ticket required to attend.
Queensland and the Northern Territory appear to have no restrictions.
So now we have restrictions on numbers due to being “covid safe” after being told numbers have been decreasing across Australia and people are forgetting about the day, well I say since the 100th Anzac day in 2016 the numbers have increased and some people were realizing how much freedoms they have lost, so with this ‘pandemic’ the new upper classes have decided to start hammering in the wedge between the people and physical places of national importance.
If this rot continues look forward to future Anzac Days where long winded apologies are given to past and present enemies or anyone that is threatened or offended by the memories of the toxic masculinity of the patriarchy.
Think I’m kidding?

There was no Perth service due to the lockdown.

But in Melbourne they can have up to 75,000 in the MCG 6 hours after the ANZAC day ceremonies.

Exactly MP its the prioritization of what can be controlled and who controls it, Australians have been under house arrest for over a year for an influenza that could have been treated at the start with medicines that have been approved globally for decades, instead we got authoritarians in waiting who are either fools or psychopaths intent on controlling the population no matter what the cost to economies, laws or actual public health.
A very sad day for me as for many others, lest we forget.

We had a march and service at the Cenotaph in Marysville. A good crowd all behaving well.

We laid our family tribute at Merewether memorial gates 7am as usual on April 25, and took part in a private wreath-laying by MerewetherSurfboardClub, as my husband is a 1966-7 infantry combat veteran and foundation/life member of the board club. Afterwards to breakfast At the sub-branch, cooked and served by members of Merewether Fire and Rescue brigade since 1951. Local traditions stay alive in this time of virus and lockdowns.

After I left Nobbys at 6 drove past the Bar Beach memorial; no one there. Drove past the gates at Mitchell park; a family of about 4 was there.

I will add to the comments made regarding attendance at Anzac Day ceremonies, and include something specific as not yet mentioned in any relative discussion that I have heard.
We two were fortunate to attend a local, and what I would consider well attended, mixed age, local gathering at the town memorial on the coast here in Gippsland. During the proceedings, those in attendance were on several occasions requested to sign in on the attendance register. Having not done so on arrival, we went across and did. Beside the sign in document, there was a tray requesting contributions, and we added to that. I assumed that the funds were destined to be spent toward the upkeep of the memorial, which is obviously well cared for and respected. Then, during the proceedings a request was made to those not having already done so, to also contribute, and help to pay for the cost of the liability insurance incurred through having run the event. I wonder if that is the reason why there has been no pushback by organizers against the attendance restrictions?
50

We are still on a war footing against an invisible enemy, we are a disciplined nation. The footy matches have big crowds.

Yonnie, not all public events allow an infinite number of people to attend even in the best of times. If a venue is limiting its numbers then I think a booking system is the only way to achieve fairness.

From the link.
Status of COVID-19
As of 19 March 2020, COVID-19 is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious diseases (HCID) in the UK.
The 4 nations public health HCID group made an interim recommendation in January 2020 to classify COVID-19 as an HCID. This was based on consideration of the UK HCID criteria about the virus and the disease with information available during the early stages of the outbreak. Now that more is known about COVID-19, the public health bodies in the UK have reviewed the most up to date information about COVID-19 against the UK HCID criteria. They have determined that several features have now changed; in particular, more information is available about mortality rates (low overall), and there is now greater clinical awareness and a specific and sensitive laboratory test, the availability of which continues to increase.
The Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP) is also of the opinion that COVID-19 should no longer be classified as an HCID
40
Australia will expose the real effectiveness of the vaccines. If most people in Australia are vaccinated and the government opens up the country and lets in the infected, covid will spread and we’ll have an epidemic – though with lower numbers than we would have had prior to the vaccine.
11
Thanks rob,
I’ve just done a quick comparison of “Closed cases” for India, Germany and Canada and found that the % of deaths for each are 1, 3 and 2 respectively, which suggests that India is actually doing better than the other two. And India was reported earlier to be using a medication package for early treatment.
The local press has been reporting the large Indian numbers without any comparisons, even against population.

We have Keswick island off Mackay,QLD ,which was granted a 99 year lease by the State Government to a Chinese group called China Bloom. Not good.
80
I’m not certain why there is the concern (unless they’re going to wreck the place) … if the Chinese ever did the slightest thing we could not accept, we would just throw them out – Keswick Island, Port of Darwin, whatever.
It seems to me it is obvious – they are welcome to invest here while they are well-behaved … deviate from that and we will cut you off.
And remember we have a lot of credits with the Yanks … if the Chinese ever tried anything untoward, Beijing is an ashtray. They know that well enough. We’re all just happily trading.
13
Hmm. That Pro-China line is very consistent.
I’m sure President Xi would approve of someone who tells Australians not to worry about Chinese buying land because we can always kick them out later. (That;s if we catch them or an insider confesses).
The CCP would be welcome to invest here if they hold Democratic Elections at home, allow free speech, stop jailing political prisoners, set Hong Kong free, and stop threatening Taiwan. Hows that?
110
Or if there was a truly reciprocal arrangement for investment.
Has Cubby station been sold down to the legal level yet? What is that, 8 years overdue? They have been caught out time and again and yet nothing is done.

The Bloom Group caters for Chinese guests who prefer group tours, to enjoy the environment without other nationalities loitering about. They had 65% of the Greek tourist market before the pandemic, so this is a natural extension.
Tilba is rational, as always, the Darwin lease is a legitimate commercial enterprise.

We always seem to have blocking Highs in Autumn EG – mid-latitude stuff. Up here we are currently running -2.5 degrees minima and -1.6 maximA.
30
They should have factored it into their thinking, a week in the doldrums.
https://www.weatherzone.com.au/synoptic/
21
These days I can see it coming days out when wind generation will be low in that area where they have the greatest concentration of wind plants, South East SouthAus and Central Western Victoria.
In that area there are 46 wind plants with a total Nameplate of 5066MW, and that’s all but two thirds of ALL Australia’s Nameplate from wind plants. At around 11AM the total from those two States was 188MW, at a CF of 1.7%, virtually all of that total in Victoria because SouthAus is hovering just above zero.
Look at the current weather synoptic chart at this link. That 1028 Hectapascal High is hovering directly over that area where all those wind plants are, hence no wind.
I watch as they roll across the Country, and get a really good idea, when wind generation will be high and when it will be low. Even when it’s high, there are problems caused by high wind speeds. Even though the rotating blades spin at around 10 to 20 revs per minute, in high winds, the blade tips are moving at around 200KPH. The larger the turbine generator, the larger the ‘fan’, the longer the blades, the higher the tip speed. The ‘fans’ are automatically turned off and feathered in high wind situations, so those blades are not destroyed, and so, because there are so many wind plants in that area, you get sudden and very rapid power drops, as now, a larger number of plants, hence turbines in that one area, and those power losses can be anything up to and beyond 500MW plus.
Tony.
130
Tony a single wind turbine can become a complete base/load power station. Using various weights raised and by calculous – commissioned. Well stored wind power efficient gearing/pullies and alternating variously the weight’s.
Hope my conceptions at least caused a belly laugh.
Will.
01
Ahh! Yes.
A 2.5MW Base Load Generator.
Now, just 17,997.5MW to go.
Tony.
20
Has been so for some time. SA can’t get 100 mW out of it’s bird choppers much of the time I’ve looked lately. Only 95 as I type.
Qld feeding 1,300 mW of good burnt coal south to the profligate states. Do they say “Thank you”?
60
And now solar is in decline across the AEMO grid. From a weekly high of 600 GWh/week in January (that’s an average of 3,600 MW) to 434 GWh/week in April (2,600 MW). That loss in generation is the equivalent of shutting down LoyYang B coal station in Vic.

I have a couple of web accounts, one Ducducgo, one I just left on google. A couple of days ago I googled ‘india covid’ to see what was happening, esp in Bihar and UP, who had big Ivermectin programs. But the google search results were almost entirely abc sbs bbc guardian + channel 9 – 4 pages of them! I gave up and changed accounts, and Times of India was top of ducducgo. Google has changed things in the last few days. Changed that a/c to ducducgo.
It’s impossible to tell what is happening state by state. Up ’til this surge Bihar, with 190 000 000 peeps, was listing under 2000 deaths.

Biden And Kerry Get Humiliated On Earth Day, But Are Too Dumb To Realize It

Being driven crazy by the left’s comments from the GF trial – we are on the path to justice, and everything will be rosy if we can just stop police brutality.
So there are red neck, honky, hillbilly police, cruising the hood, just on the lookout for innocent black people to gun down. I’ve personally heard that said. There were 700 000 police in the US. There are usually 9 – 12 police shootings of unarmed black people per year. This is pointing to a serious lack of target training!
The only way I can think of to maybe get through to the abc zombies, is hold up one finger – “this is one police shooting” – hold up a finger on the other hand – “this is black on black deaths; for every polce killing how many black on black deaths are there?….take a swing.” …………….. For every police killing there are 700 black on black killings, men women and children. That’s a good year. Thanks to defund the police, this year will be about 900 to 1. So it is an interesting mind foc that the big problem is police violence.
I’m getting more and more racist every day – I can’t stand stupid white people.
190
Let me give you some details on US police shootings of suspects resisting arrest.
The Washington Post, a very liberal source, reports 18 such police homicides of “unarmed” Black Americans men, killed by a policeman in self defense, in 2020.
Be aware that a suspect who tries to grab a policeman’s gun is considered “unarmed”.
Be aware that a suspect who has a gun on the car seat next to him is considered “unarmed”, unless he aims it at a policeman.
The total homicides of Black Americans in 2020 is still preliminary, but the latest estimate I found was 8,600.
The 18 are about 0.02% of the total 8,600
That means 8,582 of the 8,600 deaths were NOT caused by policemen acting in self defense.
Most of those 8,582 homicides were due to Black on Black urban violence.
The cities involves are almost entirely run by Democrats.
It would appear that some Black American lives matter (the 18), while other Black American lives do not matter (the 8,582.

I have found something interesting. (The sun has observationally changed fundamentally during solar cycle 24. There are a series of papers that discuss the solar cycle 24 changes. Based on the solar cycle 24 observations and new high accurate stellar observations using a new technique that can determine stellar properties and activity of solar like stars, that are of the same age…. predict the sun is changing state.)
Solar like, stars …. …as the star ages, the star’s rotational period increases, the star rotates slower, and the star stops producing a solar magnetic cycle.
The paradigm change is that based analyze of solar like stars and current solar cycle 24 changes, the papers are now predicting/stating the obvious, the sun is entering a Maunder Minimum.
All of the solar like stars studied, that are the same age as the sun…
… have stopped producing a magnetic cycle and are rotating slower than the sun.
And further, more these solar like stars, that no longer have a magnetic cycle….
Every 3000 years, on the average, these stars that have stopped having solar magnetic cyclics, produce a massive (a single ‘spotl that covers 5% of surface of the star. This massive star spot has a lifetime of about year.
And every 3000 years when this eye of evil appears on these solar like star… the massive thing ejects from time to time, something/does something which we assume is like a solar flare except 10 to a million times more powerful.

“The Maunder minimum may represent one manifestation of the Sun beginning to enter this flat-activity phase.”
https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/2041-8205/826/1/L2/pdf
STELLAR EVIDENCE THAT THE SOLAR DYNAMO MAY BE IN TRANSITION
The source of disagreement between the age scales from asteroseismology and gyrochronology came into focus after scrutinized Kepler targets with precise ages from detailed modeling.
They confirmed the existence of a population of field stars rotating more quickly than expected from gyrochronology. They discovered that the anomalous rotation became significant near the solar age for G-type targets, but it appeared earlier in F-type stars and later in K-type stars.
Perhaps the most significant indication that the Sun is in a transitional evolutionary phase is its 11-year magnetic cycle, which falls between the active and inactive branches established by other stars (see Figure 2).
Even the slightly younger solar twin 18 Sco exhibits a normal cycle on the I-branch, while the Sun is the only star with a rotation period between 23 and 30 days that shows a cycle at all.
There were several Mount Wilson targets with rotation periods in this range, but they are all flat-activity stars. The Maunder minimum may represent one manifestation of the Sun beginning to enter this flat-activity phase.
The fact that all of the slower rotators with cycles are K-type stars is perfectly understandable, since magnetic braking ceases in G-type stars before they reach these long rotation periods.
Comment:
The stellar analysis has radically improved because it is now possible due to advanced measurement/analysis to determine what a star state a star is in and whether the star is producing a magnetic cycle and so on, based on an analysis, of the star’s surface oscillation. Stellar surface oscillations can now be monitored for individual stars.
90
William Astley:
Interesting but ?? We
knowguess that there are solar cycles e.g. Weiss at 2600 years; Dansgard-Oeschger about 1450 years and possibly others. Vries, Eddy.Plimer in heaven+earth (page 223,224) mentions a change in the Sun’s position in the Solar System as it ‘resets’ its position with regard to the barycentre of the Solar System. He notes that this occurred in 1632, 1811 and 1990 but that the effect on climate was unknown.
I would add that the Maunder Minimum seemed to be underway for the first (volcanic activity around 1620 and very cold weather in Europe in the 1640’s, even though the usual date for the Maunder is 1645 to 1710).
The Dalton minimum was well underway in 1811 (1810 was the last year without sunspots observed) with volcanic activity before Tambora in 1815.
And 1990 seems to have been the time when “Global Warming” stopped (outside of NASA’s figures). And the number of volcanic eruptions has increased after that.
Some solar-geomagnetic effect?
50
Very interesting.
Thanks William.
It’s always amused me that so many, if not all, climate forecasts, especially those out to 2100, are founded on the assumption that our variable star will always be static, unchanging and obeying the forecaster’s strictures.
They wonder why they keep getting it all wrong …

Many years ago the teens in the alley behind our house in Montreal had a basketball hoop. Yes it produced a bit of noise, but parents made sure it stopped at 10pm. Then a bunch of old farts of both sexes had the city order it banned. Evidently people prefer to have their young hang out in malls and street corners or sit at home playing computer games.
Active children do make noise. A society that does not tolerate this ends up where we are with birth rates below 1.7, an obesity problem and children taught that activity is something they are ‘organized’ to do.

Devastating for the U.S. but Australia isn’t far behind.
I have great admiration for our police but they’ve been in the front line of the interference of politicians into administration of our protection for decades now. They cop it from all sides.
Judges, for decades, have given light politically correct sentences for horrible crimes and should do better.
And things won’t change easily, too many have vested interests with “good” taxpayer funded jobs in public service and won’t upset the apple cart.
How do we fix this? It’s embedded.

The poor #MyPillowGuy is not having a good run. He has been sued by Dominion for $1.6 billion for telling porkies, and his new “free speech” platform is apparently flailing badly. The Daily Kos are really scathing. – and not without good reasons.
06
Good news for those who are scared of free speech eh?.
Who’s a happy slave then TT?

FRANK – the voice of free speech is up and going. It claims 400 million stream requests in just 4 days.

There is limited content so far. Apparently they have been hard at work trying to prevent cyber attacks from shutting them down.

The Daily Kos are scathing. Vipuperative and biased.
50
Vipuperative?
Use a dictionary Peter C!
Given that the Daily Kos represents the extreme fantasies of the loony left the article referenced by TT should be seen as a panic reaction.

First real test of the USA election Results!
The votes in the USA Presedential Election in Maricopa County, Arizona are being audited right now.
https://welovetrump.com/2021/04/21/finally-maricopa-county-forensic-audit-officially-set-to-begin-this-friday-april-23/
The election officials have done everything they could so far to prevent it.
Left wing commentators react, including the Guardian:
The audit is expected to show that Trump Won!
What will follow from that?
90
Had been watching this but then seen a Judge stopped the audit from going ahead , just checked and it’s back on as you say after the Democrats failed to pay a bond .
Yes this is something they have tried and successfully so far to prevent.

I’ve often wondered at the apparent insanity of rabid environmentalists, rabid socialist progressives, etc, and had difficulty understanding the contradictions within their cults with respect to reality.
This article seems to explain things quite well.

“It must be observed that people who accept pseudo-realities as though they are “real” are no longer normal people. They perceive pseudo-reality in place of reality, and the more thoroughly they take on this delusional position, the more functional psychopathy they necessarily exhibit and thus the less normal they become…..The ultimate purpose of creating a pseudo-reality is power, which the constructed pseudo-reality grants in many ways.”
It is an excellent read.

Formula “E” was originally sold as a way of bringing motorsport back into the City centers with quiet, emmission free , racing.
In reality, those short street circuits with short staights ( to keep the top speed and energy use down ),..and multiple sharp 90deg corners. (To maximise regen braking)….were essential to allow even the brief 20 min races to last without unrealistic large heavy batteries.
Even after many years of development, the reality of limited battery energy capacity is still dictating the type of event EVs can function in.
F1 (and GT/LM) racing is showing the obvious advantages of a “Hybrid” drive system..
Small ICE engines, limited fuels, cleaver Electrical hybrid technologies = huge performance !

Great strides in carbon taxing
“As Lorne Gunter points out in this concise op-ed, “fixing” the climate with carbon taxes is about as far from win-win as you can get. If you think housing prices are crazy now, just wait until these carbon taxes are fully worked into the cost of a foundation.
Trudeau’s Thursday pledge works out to a reduction from 732 annual megatonnes of greenhouse gases to 439 megatonnes.
To achieve that, not only would Canada have to shut down Alberta’s oil and gas industry, but also the entire country’s transportation sector – cars, trucks, semis, school buses and delivery vans.
And probably any construction that uses cement. A lot of emissions are produced in making cement.”

Aparently the EIA have issues their 2021 energy report and stated that global CO2 emissions were down 7.0% in 2020 !
https://youtu.be/me_cwc7hHUI
Its strange that their statement is not supported by the usual global CO2 ppm data ???
I guess the “Costanza” principal applies ..

Interesting implications from an article that totally demolishes the Linear No Threshold model for radiation poisoning.
Basically, cesium gets into honey as a potassium substitute the same way as strontium can displace calcium and radioactive cesium isotopes from nuclear weapons tests in the ’50s would have been gathered in relatively high levels in ’60s. In the cumulative LNT model, there should have been a spike in east coast US radiation poisoning cases from people who consumed large amounts of honey from the ’60s onwards. None has been found so the LNT theory has now been disproved.

Here is coverage of you tube’s new censorship policies, the outcome of which drove me totally off it a few days ago. We can just avoid it, but billions of people probably wont. That’s the problem.

Thanks for that, lots of good sense all in one place.
It follows the Great Barrington Declaration closely as it says.
If only all that were to be followed, but the purposes of those in government are best served by censorship, suppression, and scares.

“I often wonder how the United States has managed to survive and thrive given their record of electing idiots to “look after them”. Mind you, other “democracies” seem to have the same fault; witness ours, the UK, New Zealand and many others. This time they have taken the cake. As H.L Mencken said:
“On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron”. ”
