GM warns some Bolt EV owners: Don’t park them inside or charge them unattended overnight

“advised not to park their vehicles inside or charge them unattended overnight.”
Does this mean you have to babysit the car all night while it is charging?
Imagine sitting all night in an easy chair next to the car in the carport with a few beverages and snacks.
A great way to rest in preparation for the next day’s work!
170
Well maybe the owners are as precious as their cars, so they wont mind?
50
I wonder why its apparently OK to charge the unattended in daylight?
180
There’ll have to be specially built parking areas developed for the sole use of vehicles equipped with these explosion fraught batteries. As I was walking through the local station car park this afternoon I spotted a hybrid tucked neatly in the line and pondered the consequences for the other cars in the line contiguous and beyond should the hybrid’s battery spontaneously ignite.
120
There must be millions of Priuss around. Know of any catching alight? My bed is directly over my hybrid. I’m OK with that.
One thing to consider while charging at home: How old is your house and its wiring? Running old wiring at max rated current for many hours is fraught.
71
Hanrahan – the prius has different battery chemistry . The Bolt and Tesla have lithium ion chemistry and that is the problem . However the Prius has a recall running due to fires in the wiring. Good luck…..
100
“However the Prius has a recall running due to fires in the wiring. Good luck…..”
The true facts are quite different
I have a Prius that was recalled. There were no fires in the wiring of any Prius . There was a safety recall in Australia on 791 Prius vehicles produced from November 2015 to May 2018 due to a condition potentially affecting the engine wire harness.
Toyota stated “There is a possibility that a portion of the wire harness could come into contact with the Power Control Unit connector cover and wear over time, causing an electrical short circuit.” There have been no incidents or injuries reported in Australia as a result of this condition.
26
you wrote all that just because the previous posters didn’t bother to look it up. What a surprise.
26
Ian-the prius has had 29 recalls during its history.Short circuits (with the potential amperages and voltages of the storage) can cause fires . There have been fires in the prius in the US and a quick search will show this. These are the “true facts”.
90
Ian, I note you have quoted Toyota from their recall statement for the 791 Prius vehicles. Including the no incidents or injuries reported in Australia part.
What you left out was other parts of Toyota’s statement which was written between those two sentences. eg.
Of course an increased risk doesn’t mean there has been fires. But simply saying it was “due to a condition potentially affecting the engine wire harness” is perhaps not really representing the reason for the recall. Old Goat’s claim the recall is due to “fires in the wiring” is the concern Toyota has and the reason for the recall. Otherwise they wouldn’t do a recall. They’d just repair wires on a needs basis.
The full statement:
https://www.toyota.com.au/news/toyota-australia-to-recall-vehicles-due-to-potential-engine-wire-harness-malfunction
30
No fires in Australia,. just pure luck !
But Toyota recalled a million or so of the self-ignitors.

Seems that it is Gee Aye that “didn’t look” or is basically a liar.

20
I’m more interested in Serp’s answer. It was he/she who claimed hybrids are fire prone.
10
There is no doubt that any mobile battery is prone to fire via collision at least. The larger the capacity the greater the risk. This is nothing new there are many many examples of 12V lead acid batteries in standard (old school) vehicles causing fires after a collision. Reason would suggest that everyday vibration would also stress batteries.
The stored potential in a EV is a potential risk and liability period.
10
Yeah, much better to stick a tank made of thin metal under the car and fill it with 98-octane hydrocarbons. Nothing could go wrong with that.
06
The “tank of thin metal filled with hydrocarbons” has a good enough track record that insurance companies allow tuck-under garages to be built!
Give me any example you can find where such a tank spontaneously caught fire at typical garage temperature?
With a tank of petrol you know if you have a leak. With a complex battery and 5000 watts of charging current you don’t know until there is smoke.
40
98 octane
A highly emotional, and misleading, comment.
98 octane has exactly the same chance of accidental/spontaneous explosion as does 91 or any other octane.
30
True Hanrahan, I spotted the blue triangle and supposed it was a hybrid since it wasn’t a Tesla and not being an aficianado of these cars I supposed the presence of that label to be evidence of a battery fire hazard.
00
Poor craig, an unlucky post, full of just not knowing
The number of spontaneous combustion fires from ICE vehicles, per million, is a tiny fraction of fires in EVs.
Do you drive a EV, Craig?
20
Overloaded household wiring, rats eating tasty soy based plastic insulation and lithium ion batteries, a combo from hell.
80
A lifetime ago I replaced some lead covered wiring the rats has chewed in my future in-law’s home. They are equal opportunity destructors.

The plan to get people into electric vehicles is a disguised attempt to destroy or at least control our mobility.
The “climate change” argument is a weak rationalisation.
211
Correct.
Many people can make our own fuel….which messes things up fir the satanic globalists.
Dont forget this whole evo stupidity is based around the globalists and thier satanic belief system.
The most public/openly exposed face is the CCP. When you see globalists espousing eugenics or forms of na*ism, all youre seeing is whats hidden underneath. Ever wondered why society is in one big concentration camp right now?
People in victoria are waking up to the false covid narrative too…interesting days ahead
20
“The plan to get people into electric vehicles is a disguised attempt to destroy or at least control our mobility.”
Jeez is there is no end to the plots “they” intend to introduce? Or is it that there no end to conspiracy theories?
210
So…..if climate change is nonsense ( which it is ) then the people pushing the climate change agenda are either really rich and powerful but incredibly gullible ….or…its deliberate.
A conspiracy is one or more people actibg together to do something dodgy.
Ergo, inflicting either the imposition of climate change or covid 19 upon people , by definition, is a conspiracy.
Climate change pushes the electric thing which removes our choices for energy and restricts freedom of movement, covid is for destroying the economy and removing peoples freedoms under a “perpetual war” scenario and allowing imposition of a crushing govt control grid upon people.
Of course, the Elite will promise to restore freedoms, but they never will.
Dont forget it appears the globalists have a population reduction agenda. They state this in thier own writings.
The next thing coming is a global Cyber “Event 201” to take down up supply chains, ( food, fuel, etc ) likely to kick off once China attacks Taiwan.
40
Looks like you are on the side of never ending conspiracies.
12
There is lots going on …
50
Difference between a conspiracy and fact..
6-12 months !
There are still some far-leftist clowns trying to play down Agenda 21/30 even though they are widely published, by the perpetrators, on the web
40
Really dumb there Ian, have you read Agenda 21 now Agenda 30 something? It is the “They” you fail to see. It isn’t a conspiracy when they publish what they want for the world to see.
Blinders and your head in the sand won’t help you Ian.
50
Was Agenda 21 the one where they had a talkfest in Rio de Janeiro and ate expensive food and swilled expensive wines while they had a chat about how they would try to reduce world poverty just a little?
I was frankly flabbergasted that anybody could fail to see how deeply evil such a plan is.
Which reminds me, did you know that the UN has a special Comedy Committee that sits to satirise itself?

02
Craig, I thought someone like you would be well verse with your comrades’ manifesto by now. !
10
Indeed, anyone who has watched a video of Klaus Schwab might imagine that they are viewing a promo for the latest Bond film. This bloke is seriously demented but makes no attempt to hide his bat-shit crazy plans for us poor unfortunate victims. These cretins need sorting out now. Might be better to die as a wolf than live like a sheep.
20
?.. would it not be easier and quicker to simply restrict or cut off the OIL supply. ?
Or, simpler still, just increase the FUEL TAX to an unafordable level ?
…if gas cost $100/litre , how far would you travel ?
The elites would be Unaffected, and the Government would cash in big time !
……so why phuk about trying to get everyone into Electric cars before you “restrict them” ?
40
Are you seriously questioning a conspiracy theory. Have the elites got to you?
12
That is, the personal mobility of regular people.
The Leftist Elites will continue to fly to their climate catastrophe conferences in exotic locations in their private jets.
The EU is about to introduce extra fuel taxes on commercial passenger aircraft to make travel less affordable to normal people but private jets, the preferred product travel method of the Leftist Elites will be exempt.
40
Well, this might be an option for us Plebs (via the BBC).

Chad writes:
“would it not be easier and quicker to simply restrict or cut off the OIL supply”?
Yes it would be, and is now being implemented, see-
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2021/07/15/billy-madison-dumb-constraining-oil-supply-is-key-to-cutting-demand-ron-white-was-right/
Objectives are-
-to reduce human mobility,
-to lower demand/use of resources and as a consequence lower standards of living generally
-to show Gaia worship and preserve The Planet for future generations
of whom there will be a lower number after starvation war and uncontrolled pestilence have worked as expected.
So, just like these great lockdowns but no safe zones.
00
It will certainly kill eco-tourism.
Who will go to Eyers Rock, Kings Canyon, Kakadu, Cooktown even. Certainly no one would ever get to The Tip again. It’s an adventure people do for no good reason but the bragging rights. Someone did it on a “postie bike”, why?
00
There is so much wrong with an electric vehicle and our politicians all in on this policy approach.
The media and politicians are useless and want to hide all the multitude of faults and flaws with this totally asinine approach.
Truly not hard to see it is a total economic disaster in a multitude of areas here too.
To want us off fossil fuels at all costs and then turn a blind eye that 99% of this vehicle is plastics or materials that use massive amounts of fossil fuels.
Even many charging stations will need to use generators as the power grid can not support this approach.
120
It won’t have to.
The UK all party committee on achieving the Paris accord has actually said publicly that private ownership of any vehicle, including battery powered is incompatible with achieving legislated zero omission targets.
No cars for you peasants, ever.
70
When they achieve their desired aim IE get rid of cars,I wonder just what THEY are going to use for transport or fuel or electricity for that matter?
10
I know. They will make the wearing of lycra compulsory.
00
It will be interesting to see just what they are going to drive these electric cars on, once they have eliminated oil, as they won’t have tarmac. Concrete is no better as an option as it requires huge extraction processes which surely negate the ‘planet saving’ benefits.
30
So what ?
Hyundai issued a similar … “Dont park your Tuscon in the garage or near your house as it may burst into flames” …… warning earlier this year….Kia did similar.
All for conventional ICEs…
10
“So what? Hyundai issued a similar …”
GM recalled the Bolts to fix the problem then two more Bolts caught fire after the Bolts were “fixed”; did Hyundai have a similar recall with similar results?
20
I have no idea of current Hyundai fire statistics……
But , i do know that there are approx 200,000 behicle fires every year in the USA. ( dramaticaly reduced from 400,000 in the yr 2000 )
So, sure GM has an issue with the Bolt, ..but 2 in 69,000 is statisticly a much lower incident rate than those 200,000 in a fleet of 250 million ice’s.
Bottom line is,..you are “sweating over details”. !
12
I’ve driven for 60 years, for a while was a “professional driver” and have the speeding tickets to prove it.
I have never seen a car fire off the movie screen. I have never heard of an ICE spontaneously combust and burn a house down. In fact I have never seen an out of control petroleum fire. I’ve put out demo fires with BCF extinguishers – easy peasy.
40
Ive seen two. One 33 years ago and one this year. Both under bonnet (hood) fires that started while the vehicle was being driven.

Moderna launches clinical trial testing whether its COVID-19 vaccine leads to miscarriages or stillbirths in pregnant women or birth defects in newborns despite thousands of mothers-to-be receiving the shot
. Moderna will soon conduct trials to determine whether their vaccine is safe for pregnant women
. The CDC does not recommend for or against pregnant women getting vaccinated
. Pregnant women are more likely to suffer from negative outcomes from COVID-19
. Other studies are being conducted to determine how effective the COVID-19 vaccines are for pregnant women
210
Vaxx-test mummies for Moderna! How can that be moral?
101
Will Fauci divest himself of his shareholding or ride out the controversy?
70
No worries, they don’t have any liability.
160
Best to switch to AstraZeneca made by CSL.
Their CEO, Paul Perreault’s salary is $43 Million.
No liability there, either.
But we’ll still need that ‘booster’ shot . . .
100
AstraZeneca? Depends upon where it’s made, apparently. UK not liking Indian ( Sorry! -wokism – should be callng it the delta Manuf’r), Germans not liking it AT ALL – 1/4 Million doses not taken up and being Binned.
20
It appears something was learnt from the Thalidomide disaster
70
Hmmm!
Probably better make sure the results can be replicated (/s)
50
Natural Infection May Offer Better Protection Against Delta Variant, Israeli Health Ministry Says
According to Israel National News, more than 7.7K new cases of the virus have been detected during the most recent wave (beginning back in May). However, just 72 of the confirmed cases were reported in people who were known to have been previously infected – that is, less than 1% of the new cases.
Roughly 40% of new cases – involving more than 3K patients – were infected despite being fully vaccinated.
190
This should have been done prior to any provisional approval crime was committed. The horse has bolted, no?!
90
Do fetuses inherit spike protein production from the mother (as opposed to antibodies from normal vaccines)?
60
It is unethical to test anything on pregnant women. This would have not have occurred 20/30 years ago, doctors would have advised women not take the vaccine until they had delivered the baby. Whilst there have been some very small trials where women have been given the vaccine in 2nd and 3 trimester, miscarriages and small sized births occurred. The figures are not out of the expected normal range or different to the placebo group which received saline injections. However women who have been given the vaccine in the 1st trimester have experienced a higher than average miscarriage rate and the remaining women have not yet reached full term with their pregnancies.
I guess not having to accept any responsibility for outcomes means the lessons learnt from thalidomide can be thrown away.
170
We’ve moved on so that whole populations are being thrown away now.
70
= Throw-away disposable Society, init?
40
An interesting perspective on vaccine development here:
https://nofrakkingconsensus.com/2021/07/14/8-ways-in-which-covid-vaccines-are-new/
These vaccines are genuinely “unprecedented”, but apparently that’s only an issue for climate change.
60
No one has mentioned exemptions for the pregnant or simply those of child bearing age when vaxx passports become mandatory, nor for survivors with natural immunity.
60
New cases of rare blood clots linked to AstraZeneca vaccine
Australia’s medicines watchdog has revealed more rare blood clots linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Seven more rare blood clots have been linked to AstraZeneca’s Covid vaccine, the nation’s medicines watchdog has revealed.
Four of the clots are confirmed cases of the rare Thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS) that have been linked to the jab. Another three cases were classified as probable cases.
The confirmed cases were in a 67-year-old man from NSW, 67 and 70-year-old women from Victoria, an a 71-year-old man from Western Australia.
The probable cases were in a 48-year-old woman from Victoria, a 61-year-old woman from Western Australia and a 66-year-old woman from the ACT.
The total number of confirmed cases has now risen to 83 from 5.4 million doses administered to date, with 51 cases confirmed and 32 probable.
As reported by South Australian Health authorities on Monday, a 72-year-old woman from South Australia died from TTS following a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine. Her death is the fourth in Australia linked to the AZ vaccine.
100
Notices its always “rare”
5000 dead ( likely 50,000 due to likely 10x under reporting ) dead in europe apparently according EU vaccine injury databases
https://stuartbramhall.wordpress.com/2021/05/26/12184-dead-1196190-injuries-european-database-of-adverse-drug-reactions-for-covid-19-vaccines/
“Their report through May 22, 2021 lists 12,184 deaths and 1,196,190 injuries following injections of four experimental COVID-19 shots:
“COVID-19 MRNA VACCINE MODERNA (CX-024414)
“COVID-19 MRNA VACCINE PFIZER-BIONTECH
“COVID-19 VACCINE ASTRAZENECA (CHADOX1 NCOV-19)
“COVID-19 VACCINE JANSSEN (AD26.COV2.S)
“From the total of injuries recorded, there are 604,744 serious injuries which equals over 50%.
20
None of those are “experimental” and only a very tiny proportion of those events are causally linked to the vaccine that preceded them.
By far and away the most deaths following any single event were the deaths that followed after people ate dinner, with almost all deaths on the planet coming on average only 150 minutes after the eating of a meal!!!!!!!!!!!!
00
I thank CT for this useful statistic.
Now the facts are out, sensible policy can follow to reduce the number of dinners eaten.
Dinners are to be eaten only with a permit.
Jail terms to be defined for offenders.
We are in this together.
It is for your own good.
10
“None of those are “experimental””
Wrong.. they are all experimental.
None have passed third level trials.
The whole Covid thing is an experiment gone wrong.
20
The problem is there is no systematic monitoring to determine whether deaths in the acute period after the vaccine (3 months) are consistent with normal expectations. Until there is monitoring, I do not consider the vaccines safe.
10
“…and only a very tiny proportion of those events are causally linked to the vaccine that preceded them.”
So why list them then if you think its not related? at the end of the day everyone is going to eventually die after taking vaccine

Dr. Fauci strangely silent on sudden death of vaccinated boy, 13 – Washington Times
Dr. Anthony Fauci wants America to know that the coronavirus vaccine is safe, effective and completely safe and effective, and that every man, woman and child over the age of 12 should get the shot because, well, it’s completely, utterly, inarguably and irrefutably safe and effective. And safe.
Just don’t talk about that little 13-year-old Michigan boy who died in his sleep three days after receiving his second Pfizer vaccine dose.
Fauci, party of one? Calling Dr. Fauci.
“F.D.A. Attaches Warning of Rare Nerve Syndrome to Johnson & Johnson Vaccine,” The New York Times wrote.
“FDA adds new warning on Johnson & Johnson vaccine related to rare autoimmune disorder,” The Washington Post wrote.
The risks are low, but high enough to affix the warning: According to the FDA, the J&J vaccine brings with it a potential to develop Guillain-Barre syndrome. Feds have so far found 100 suspected cases of Guillain-Barre victims with the common denominator of taking the one-dose J&J shot; 95% of those people were sent to the hospital, in serious condition.
“[T]he available evidence suggests an association” between the vaccine and Guillain-Barre, but not yet a “causal relationship,” the FDA said in a statement.
In other words: Get over it, as the mighty Dr. Fauci might say.
“What is the problem?” — as the mighty Dr. Fauci might ask.
“CDC issues warning after a connection is found between COVID-19 vaccines and heart inflammation in young adults,” CBS8 wrote a few weeks ago.
“FDA to Add Warning to Pfizer, Moderna Vax After CDC Finds ‘Likely’ Link With Rare Heart Condition,” NBC7 wrote, also a few weeks ago.
Does the fed not know that American people actually pay attention to this stuff — and respond accordingly? It’s called free choice; free will; or, in a word — freedom.

Flawed Heatwave Report Leads to False Headlines in Major Media

For the record – way back in BC there was

“Unsafe” included a chapter on the Corvair, but somewhat surprisingly, gave the rear engine, swing axle VW little attention. That was just temporary, as in 1971, Nader’s Organization unleashed a scathing report on the Volkswagen, referring to numerous statistics and reports. But this time, someone took him to task, and rather effectively at that.
Problem of rear engine, swing axle VW/Corvair was easily solved by installing Camber Compensator
Camber Compensator. Prevents rear wheel tuck on swing axle cars. Bolts to the bottom of the gearbox case – Specifically designed for swing axle style rear end to stop the wheels from tucking in causing the vehicle to roll over.
Had one installed on 62 1/2 VW 1200 that I rallied
60
Rear Wheel “tuck in” was a common problem on many early cars with independent suspension,…not just rear engined designs.
One of the more notorious examples was the Triumph Herald/ Vitesse, / spitfire/ GT6. Range of front engined, rear drive British cars from the ‘60s
If not modified they were exceptionally “interesting” to drive fast into corners.
40
Definitely in Hillman Imp
40
? The Imp definitely did NOT have a “tuck under” rear wheel problem.
Its suspension was a much better design with “trailing arm” layout at the rear.
The front however, was a “swing arm” design that needed a bag of cement under the bonnet to keep it down…unless the infamous negative camber and lowered pivot mounting mods were adopted as on the “Sport” model.
20
The swing axle was the bigger issue. Have the rear engine just exacerbated things.
If Bernd Rosemeyer hadn’t been an utter a driving genius, AutoUnion would probably have never won a Grand Prix and the Porsche 911 never made (since it was derived from the swing axle 356)
50
How in the world did they code a moderation filter that determines comments about vehicle suspension is offending?
Maybe it has some issue with the race car driver that was mentioned…
30
You obviously intended to convey much much more with your clever euphemisms.

Orbital precession dominates Earth’s climate. Since 1585, perihelion has occurred after the austral summer solstice, which usually occurs 22 Dec. Perihelion is now occurring in early January. As a consequence, the Southern Hemisphere has been cooling since 1585 and the northern hemisphere warming.
The cooling and warming in the respective hemispheres is most noticeable at high latitudes because the tropical oceans are temperature limited to 30C and do not see as much variation in insolation over the seasonal cycle. Since 1585, the top of atmosphere insolation at 55N latitude for May has increased from 400W/sq.m to 403W/sq.m at the present time. In another 1000 years it will reach 406W/sq.m. It will be 12,000 years before it reaches its peak.
The observed ocean warming at depth is the result of a reduction in net evaporation rate due to less sunlight in the Southern Hemisphere where water dominates. Reducing net evaporation steepens the thermocline as the rate of cool water flow up the column reduces.
130
Milancovich cyles are supposed to to control climate. Yet I have not seen a convincing attempt to correlate past climate with the cycles.
91
Peter,
Precession is one part of the Milankovitch cycles. It is more dominant in Earth’s climate than eccentricity and obliquity variation. Obliquity is important for the seasons and how it interplays with precession but it does not vary much.
I have produced a paper on recreating glaciation that demonstrates how well glaciation can be resolved by precession and eccentricity.:
https://1drv.ms/w/s!Aq1iAj8Yo7jNhEMHOYBrm7C7HoUS?e=sZlAvZ
I am not yet happy with the need to use ice albedo change to increase the rate of melting because I can get very close without using that change. Data supports the increase in dust level as the sea level drops and ice covers an increasing proportion of the land masses abutting the North Atlantic. However I am not yet convinced on that element.
I am now looking to see if cooling in the South Atlantic is enough to reduce evaporation in the North Atlantic such that melt rate overtakes snow deposition rate.
It is clear that precession and eccentricity do a good job of hind-casting glaciation and will be a good indicator of the next cycle into glaciation, which is destined to begin in the current millennium. The insolation over Tropical North Atlantic at 15N has already increased 3.1W/sq.m since the minimum in 1585. The peak in atmospheric water now occurs in May but it will get later as perihelion occurs later, retarding 15.6 calendar days per thousand years. Once the peak occurs on or after the boreal summer solstice on June 22, the ice will begin to accumulate again. The melt season at high latitudes in the northern hemisphere is limited to June and July. As the peak in atmospheric water moves closer and eventually after the peak summer insolation more snow will be deposited and it will not begin to melt till the next summer.
110
Thanks Rick,
Very interesting. I will read it though again tonight.
One question after my first perusal. The eccentricity of the Earth’s orbit changes as described. Presumably the points of perihelion and aphelion can also change, independent of the precession (tilt). I have not seen that described.
20
The timing of perihelion dithers about a slow moving average. On average, the timing of perihelion retrads at 15.6 calendar days every millennium but it is currently moving at an average of 17days per millennium.
I have not done the orbital maths, I just use data from sources like this one:
https://www.ewoce.org/gallery/P11_TPOT.gif
Or for recent annual data from this one:
http://astropixels.com/ephemeris/perap2001.html
This one has 1000 years at annual; intervals in century blocks. There is some variation in the data depending on the simplifications used. This set shows how perihelion dithers about its gradual shift to later occurrence over decades.
I was hoping I could get something for the LIA from this dithering but so far I have not seen evidence that the orbit was a factor.

The Milankovič cycles exist as astonomers can measure them. Indeed Hipparchus explained the precession of the Equinox by axial precession of the earth around 130B.C. at about 26,000 years. He used his own measurements of star positions from about 300 years before, but may well have had access to Babylonian (or even saved Sumerian records before that) of nearly 2,000 years before.
As for the other 2 Milankovič cycles, it was a wonderful amount of calculations by him, and a major feat but as for controlling the climate They don’t.
I looked at them and the figures “work” for the last cycle only, and that only by “adjusting” the cycle lengths, e.g. instead of 26,000 (25,779) for axial precession you get the use of 19,000. 21,000, 23,000 and 24,000 as well, and I remember on graph where the figure was close 17,000 to make the result “right”. And the elliptical variation is given as anything between 95,000, 100,000, 105 – 110 or 125,000. And even that supposedly dominant cycle could be criticised as the “correct” timing of the previous cycle at 117,000 to 125,000 years ago doesn’t match up with the end of the last icy spell at 21-27,000 years ago.**
And if you go back to the previous Ice ages you’ll find that the cycles don’t fit at all, even to missing 2 that occurred.
**(Curiously the ‘incorrect date’ of the Devil’s hole [& 1 another] by geologists (using radioactive isotopes) of the end of the previous ice age and the start of the Eemian at 141-147,000 years ago fits better).

I can recreate the sea level with just eccentricity and precession simply by the rate of evaporation in the tropical Atlantic overtaking the rate of melting at 55N for glaciation and reverse to recover from glaciation. I linked to a paper at 6.1.1.
The apparent change in the precession cycle is that it is being modulated by the eccentricity. When eccentricity is low, it can shift the minimum and maximum of the precession cycle quite a lot. Actual unmodulated frequency is 23,400 years.
90
Thanks Richard and Rick, very interesting.
The last four of those Milankovic cycles had obvious common origin but the variation in timing was a puzzle.

Here’s a link that discusses timing and mechanics.

‘The observed ocean warming at depth is the result …’ of undersea vents both large and small.
32
No – it reflects a change in evaporation rate best shown by the less salty plume that feeds water from the poles to the tropics in a channel between 500m to 1000m:
https://www.ewoce.org/gallery/P18_SALNTY.gif
When net evaporation reduces, the flow rate in the channel slows down and the thermocline above 500m steepens because that reduces the flow rate of cooler water being drawn up the column.
The isotherms are compressed in the high evaporation zone around 20S:
https://www.ewoce.org/gallery/P18_TPOT.gif
Moving across the Pacific to just east of Australia, the isotherms are further apart at 20S and the less salty channel is deeper, indicative of lower net evaporation rate.
https://www.ewoce.org/gallery/P11_TPOT.gif
The sun is the main source of energy by a long margin. Geothermal heat is negligible by comparison. I have not seen any strong temperature indication of geothermal heat input into oceans. This transect crosses the Pacific Rift:
https://www.ewoce.org/gallery/P21_TPOT.gif
The 2C isotherm bobs about a bit near the rift and the the deep 1C isotherm shows warmer adjacent to the underwater mountain. However the isotherms above 2000m are more reflecive of the evaporation rates with isotherms closer together in the east where net evaporation is high and further apart in the west where net evaporation is low or even negative.

Looking at the Chandler Wobble I found this.
‘An investigation was done in 2001 by Richard Gross at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory managed by the California Institute of Technology. He used angular momentum models of the atmosphere and the oceans in computer simulations to show that from 1985 to 1996, the Chandler wobble was excited by a combination of atmospheric and oceanic processes, with the dominant excitation mechanism being ocean‐bottom pressure fluctuations.
‘Gross found that two-thirds of the “wobble” was caused by fluctuating pressure on the seabed, which, in turn, is caused by changes in the circulation of the oceans caused by variations in temperature, salinity, and wind. The remaining third is due to atmospheric pressure fluctuations.’ (wiki)

Vaccines
The pressure to be vaccinated is ramping up. A government slogan playing in Victoria at the moment is “We are not Safe, until we are All Safe”. I am not sure what that means just yet. There is talk about herd immunity. The idea of Vaccine passports seem to be gaining traction, yet to what purpose?
At the same time the effectiveness of the vaccines is being increasingly questioned and the side effects are downplayed. Some of the medical alerts are truly alarming (if they turn out to be true).
I suppose that some things will become clear soon. If the vaccines work well, that will be good and the world can move on. If not then the vaccine passports will likely be scrapped (eventually).
110
Headlines as “fully vaccinated” nurse tests positive in Sydney. People really do think that somehow the vax is a 100% talisman against evil and seem genuinely surprised when it isnt. Yet the still plunge down the vax passport route quite happily.
300
We should have seen this coming in our suffocating post modern world in which people have been trained not to think for themselves.
60
What happens is the media creates a frenzy, and for some reason people stupidly go along with it.
Watching overseas alternative news keeps you sane. If you watch just Australian “news” its one big psychotic vaccine push.
I predicted that if the vaccine uptake was low, the madness would ramp up…and what do we have in Melbourne and Sydney right now?
So the globalists will keep kicking the population in the head, via lockdowns, to remind people to give into the global bullies.
10
My interpretation: To kill us all, it must kill every single one of us.
I hope that the whistle blowers from within the U.S. FDA and CDC come out soon.
130
It is now a race to see who comes out on top, the UN with their climate scam or “Big Pharma” with their pretend vaccine with its graphene oxide content. I suspect that it will be Big Pharma who have displayed their superiority by being able to have their pretend vaccine marketed in spite of it being rejected by the US Patents Office because it did not cure a COVID infection nor did it stop the transmission of an infection.
We can now look forward to all being zombies under the control of the elite.

I have been wanting real data on the Delta variant and have just read some stats from the UK. Seems the Big D has a case fatality rate of 0.2% which is 10% of the Alpha [improved treatment may account for some of that reduction] and about that of the seasonal flu.
Isn’t a more contagious, less deadly variant a blessing?

I thought that has already started some months back.

I read an interesting article on the destruction of these democratic cities by a woman who identifies future investments for banks.
1 The properties were mostly older worn out and sitting on prime realestate.
2. Mostly black and underclass white neighbourhoods.
3. Mostly rented
4. If mortgaged and unable to be rented, banks will merely confiscate and re sell.
5. There is no insurance for insurrection or war. If you owned your building you could only sell it for land value. It’s something that banks like to buy.
6. The Federal government has proposed to give billions of dollars to Democratic cities to rebuild these wastelands.
7. Democratic mayors encouraged rioting.
This woman believes there has been collusion between the banks, Democratic Governors and BLM/Antifa .

South Africa in chaos
Not good! Warning: some images are disturbing.
60
It’s distressing. There was a photo in today’s UK Telegraph of a mother throwing her baby off a burning building in SA. Happily her baby survived uninjured, caught by a crowd below. The mother also escaped but many people have been killed. Then we get people here making a huge drama out of a 90-year old woman dying ‘with’ Covid. A group of doctors also (today’s Australian) trying on the fear porn; how about some pics of the seriously ill heart, lung, cancer, mental illnesses, etc, etc cases quite unrelated to Covid?
If the Delta scariant is that bad, how come we didn’t get thousands of serious cases spreading like wildfire everywhere that Melbourne couple went?
We should look at the latest news from Israel and the UK.Maybe we should let younger people get it and develope natural immunity while letting those, like me, take extra care and those who are ill have the proper treatments that we know exist.

It’s clear they are serious about it and so it’s not going away. Us scpetics will continue to deride such BS but the reality is because they are talking that way now it means they are already prepared to unleash the next stage in their plan to destroy the West. It will be interesting to see what that is. Sadly, we’ll know soon enough. Whether it has something to do with the current scaremongering over the vaccinations or not is unclear. It might be part of it.

The latest threat from the UN…….
The “Euro block” are pushing for a surcharge on goods imported from nations not signing up to the latest CO2 targets ..( 50% by 2030 ?, etc)
That in itself would not be a big issue for Australia, unless other countries outside the Euro block also sign up ( UK, Asia, Japan, USA, etc).
Fundamentally that would amount to a Carbon Tax set against any random figure that the UN wants to dictate.

They don’t get out much do they?

Southern Hemisphere reached peak insolation for the present precession cycle in 1585. That hemisphere will remain in a cooling phase for the next 12,000 years. On the flip side, the Northern Hemisphere has been warming since 1585.
Within this millennium, evaporation in the Tropical Atlantic will overtake the rate of snow melting in the higher latitudes of the abutting land and glaciation will begin another cycle.
70
Will be even colder next week.

It was 27 deg in my part of the tropics today. Still sitting with no shirt and the fan on low. Might switch it off now that I think of it.
GA hasn’t mentioned how idyllic the weather during her northern sojourn. Would that spoil a narrative? The world at a tipping point couldn’t be so good.
20
I can explain what is going on ….. We are going to see more cooling and more abrupt climate events caused by the same phenomena. Global warming is over. It can be over because it was not cause by anthropogenic CO2 emissions. No link.
The cooling in the Southern hemisphere is caused by the South Atlantic geomagnetic field ‘anomaly’…. Which is moving westward is now covering part of South America.
The South Atlantic Geomagnetic ‘anomaly’ is a region where the geomagnetic field is unexplainably now reversing in Realtime…
A small group of geomagnetic field researchers have found that the past abrupt climate changes, all correlate in time with past unexplained abrupt changes in geomagnetic field strength and failed geomagnetic reversals.
The geomagnetic paleo data unequivocally supports the assertion that the geomagnetic field abruptly changes over and over again driven by something (it is the sun).
An abrupt reduction in the strength in the geomagnetic field, over a specific location of the earth, (think of a geomagnetic field reversal occurring over South America and think of the now partial reversal which is occurring over Greenland and Europe.
Western Hemisphere abrupt geomagnetic field strength change which is now happening in realtime is caused by same ‘thing’ that caused the North Magnetic pole ‘drift’ velocity to increase by a factor of 5. Can you see the concept?) will cause an increase of cloud cover and cooling in the region, where there is a sudden reduction in the geomagnetic field strength.
The geomagnetic paleo data shows the north geomagnetic pole location has abruptly changed in the past correlating with, both the small and the large past climate changes.
The weird Heinrich climate ‘changes’ are caused by a superfast (there are burn marks on the surface of the earth that correlate in time with the Younger Dryas abrupt climate change at which time there is also a failed geomagnetic reversal), abrupt reduction in the geomagnetic field strength, failed geomagnetic reversals which have a duration of 1200 years to 200 years (the larger the drop in the ‘strength’ of the geomagnetic field the longer the time for the liquid core of the earth integrate the forced surface change in the geomagnetic field to return to dipole), in specific locations on the earth.
We are going to see abrupt climate change in real time. And some other stuff.
https://news.yahoo.com/earths-magnetic-field-weakening-10-times-faster-now-121247349.html
“Previously, researchers estimated the field was weakening about 5 percent per century, but the new data revealed the field is actually weakening at 5 percent per decade, or 10 times faster than thought. ….
….The biggest weak spots in the magnetic field — which extends 370,000 miles (600,000 kilometers) above the planet’s surface — have sprung up over the Western Hemisphere, while the field has strengthened over areas like the southern Indian Ocean, according to the magnetometers onboard the Swarm satellites — three separate satellites floating in tandem.
What Caused Recent Acceleration of the North Magnetic Pole Drift?
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/2010EO510001/pdf
The north magnetic pole (NMP) is the point at the Earth’s surface where the geomagnetic field is directed vertically downward. It drifts in time as a result of core convection, which sustains the Earth’s main magnetic field through the geodynamo process. During the 1990s the NMP drift speed suddenly increased from 15 kilometers per year at the start of the decade to 55 kilometers per year by the decade’s end. This acceleration was all the more surprising given that the NMP drift speed had remained less than 15 kilometers per year over the previous 150 years of observation. Why did NMP drift accelerate in the 1990s?
40
‘Gonna get interesting, and that, right soon.’
Perhaps its a climate shift?

Yes it’s way above normal proportions of the past. As to why, well I could speculate but I simply don’t know. Some would say it’s deliberate to scare us into getting the shots. Perhaps. Without being a doctor and personally looking at the patients I really don’t know. One thing that doesn’t make sense is virus mutations are supposed to be less dangerous that their predecessors. That’s been the case all along in history. Could this be a completely different virus? More speculation.
100
The general blurb suggests that the new strains are more virulent but less lethal, but its hard to know for sure.
32
More contagious, less virulent.
130
Thanks Annie.
10
How do they detect that they are new strains ?
30
Presumably they behave differently.
10
Black box eh. Gee Aye may care to explain how genomic sequencing has validity.
20
What is the question? It is just all the code – a string of 4 letters 30000 letters long- in the virus. Every difference between different isolates is recorded.
The mutation rate is sufficient for differences to appear quite rapidly so a particular outbreak can have a uniquely traceable genome. Two outbreaks occurring from two sources are likely to be distinguishable.
Even a named variant eg delta will have many sun variant where the genetic differences have little or no biological significance
41
It seems that AGW has something in common with the coronavirus pandemic. The sequence for the COVID-19 virus was actually created on a computer.
Quote:
30
Richard… that is truly rubbish. Koch’s postulates are superseded and exceeded by genomics. If you want modern medicine to judge itself by the standards and knowledge of 1890’s I’m sure there is a third world hospital you can visit.
The genome has been sequenced innumerable times and somehow in labs across the globe those small fragments from dead cells somehow get assembled into the same thing every single time.
btw An alignment (aside- I could not find the program called alignment – possibly someones personal R script) can be done by all sorts of methods and many different data pipelines peculiar to the lab doing the analysis. Remarkably they all still come to the same sequence from these random fragments from dead cells.
22
Yet the PCR tests only pick up fragments, insufficient to identify a new strain.
10
There are hundreds of mutations, they are tested genetically and recognized by code – the Indian variant virus spreads much faster, but is only 10% as lethal as the original Wuhan – as time goes on the next set of mutations should be weaker. Unfortunately vaccines are based on wuhan spike proteins.
20
The Indian so called variant and the Delta strain are the same.
20
GA is best for this. Basically (very basic) the PCR detects a virus (or anything depending on the primer used) or part of. It then goes into an oven that heats it to the temp for the primer used, (annealing) time and temp give cycles, you end up with scrambled egg. The gods have a super computer that unscrambles the egg but does not know what an egg is or type of egg, so there is a genome data base (Genebank) that has all the different eggs stored. If no egg that fits that sequence is found, you have a new type of egg, if the sequence closely relates but has a few bits misplaced or added, you have a new strain. Just got to use your imagination.
You then alert the who who send everyone into panic, alert the government to remove more rights, alert the media to flood the senses, alert the social media, organise a party of dancing nurses, highlight cases and if they are lucky deaths or just add any that kinda sorta may fit, remind the youth via media campaigns that suicide is possibly the only option for a disease they will never know they have.
Then test, test, test, test and tell everybody its everybody else’s fault. Order that the same vax that did not work the first two times be forcefully injected into the population. When all you have is a hammer!

It seems to be generally accepted now that the virus originated in the Wuhan lab and most accept that the release was accidental. Was it?
The so-called Delta strain was, apparently, first detected in India. Is it really a natural mutation, given how easy it would be for another “gain of function” version to be transported to and released there?
60
That’s the right question.
50
Also the possibility remains that the vaccines increase the chances of new versions.
10
Covidlive shows 937 Active cases across Australia. 128 in hospital, 22 in ICU and 2 on Ventilators.
https://covidlive.com.au/australia

No one is getting Ivermectin as far as I know.
50
I wonder if they are still using the same protocol:
Dr Peter McCullough:
-85 percent of the more than 600,000 U.S. deaths could have been prevented with a multi-drug treatment given in the early to mid-point of the disease.
-Instead, people were told to stay home and not return to the hospital unless their symptoms got worse, such as severe breathing problems. By then it was too late for many. They were placed on ventilators and died.
-The vast majority of doctors jumped in lockstep to follow these erroneous “guidelines” handed down by the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. Those guidelines neglected to place any focus on the treatment of sick patients and, from the beginning, as early as April 2020, started emphasizing the need for a vaccine as the only real hope of beating back the virus.
-The federal Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System [VAERS] logged 5,993 reports of deaths of people injected with the COVID vaccine between Dec. 14, 2020, and June 11, 2021. That’s more than all the deaths reported to VAERS from all other vaccines combined over the last 22 years.
-But these numbers, as shocking as they are, don’t scratch the surface of the actual number of dead Americans, said McCullough.

“The vast majority of doctors jumped in lockstep to follow these erroneous “guidelines” handed down by the World Health Organization and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control …”
One more profession among the elite which will never recover the trust it has now lost.
80
Honestly – are people still falling for these tall stories from loose-cannon notoriety-seeking doctors?
https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/feb/22/melbourne-doctors-under-review-for-promoting-discredited-covid-treatment
“But most shocking of all, yet another of the cited studies concludes the opposite of what McCullough claims it says. Based on a study of 1,438 patients in New York, it found no benefit from hydroxychloroquine. The very small benefits detected were concluded to be statistically insignificant.
The lead author of this study, associate professor Eli Rosenberg of the University at Albany, has confirmed that it is “incorrect to reference our study as supportive of Hydroxychloroquine benefit”.
Since he published that paper, he says, randomised control trials had demonstrated that “hydroxychloroquine has no benefit for reducing Covid-19 outcomes” at any stage of treatment, including people not hospitalised and those at risk of infection. “The sum of the evidence indicates that researchers and providers should spend little energy on this drug, in favour of therapeutics that show actual benefit or promise for benefit.”
Yet on this shaky foundation, McCullough recommended an “urgent pivot” to his recommended regime of drugs, and has promoted this view widely.”
14
Honestly, are there still clowns that post links to the Guardian !!
51
They have released video footage of some of the patients they say are in ICU.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-14/images-inside-sydney-covid-ward-show-no-one-is-immune-from-virus/100293174
Maybe if they had been given early treatment (eg ivermectin and hcq), they would not be in ICU.
90
And if we have treatments the precious vaccines weren’t necessary in the first place ergo we don’t have treatments –now roll up your sleeve.
30
Very small sample to be thinking it has to be rationalized
20
generally , but not excusively, the hospitalised are aged and with co morbidities, so its likely a decent % may visit the ICU. Its also a very small sample of 5.5 million people so it may in fact mean nothing.
40
meant to say and/or with comorbidities
40
Many thanks for your responses. Remarkable, is it not, that such a question is a matter of speculation (often informed), not public knowledge.
Amongst other things I am presently reading Jøzef Czapski, Inhuman Land: A Wartime Journey through the USSR (NYRB, 2018). Governments really are remarkable agents of destruction, especially when infected by some apocalyptic ideology. That, at least, is not the case in Oz. Even so, what’s constantly missing now are grounds for trust even as the public generally accepts the mantras of government on trust.
40
The PCR testing isn’t catching a majority of cases. Asymptomatic people and mildly symptomatic people who just don’t want to be tested.
10
Purely O/T but I switched to Duck Duck Go for searches and everything was OK for some months, but lately I note that when I try various sites (e.g. Amazon) they no longer recognise me and want me to log in. I switched to a second (older) computer which still had Google and was recognised.
Has anyone had anything like this happening?
50
IT dementia?
00
Unthreaded mate, nothing is off topic.
40
RO3 what are your cookie settings?
40
Nailed it.
40
If using Duck Duck Go, look up in the Right Hand corner area of your window and you’ll see a round icon (DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials). You can “turn off” the privacy protection for sites you trust and that might fix things. If using Firefox browser, look at the URL line and you’ll see a little blue shield thing. That is protection settings within firefox for the site currently viewing. Might need to adjust that for trusted sites.
In firefox, there’s an icon with 3 horizontal lines in the upper RH corner. That is for settings. Might need to adjust security and privacy settings there.
I use firefox, but use DuckDuckGo or Dogpile for search engines. Depends on the mood. Never use Gurgle or YooHoo or Bling.
Never store passwords for websites. Always check the box for “clear cache on exit” in settings, privacy.
Cheers.
50
Thank you for replies. The problem wasn’t DuckDuckGo as I suspected in that I was able to get through to Amazon after I switched to DDG.
Then I recalled that I had up-graded my operating system and it seems that one of the (not noted) security boosts in Safari was to hide all passwords.
So into Safari Preferences and deleted about 12 sites and password and will go through the others to see which to hide. Thanks.
50
Do you allow your computer to store passwords?
It sounds dangerous to me.
40
Peter C:
Apparently Yes. I was under the impression that they were stored with Apple, but it seems they are inside Safari.
Mind you, I never store any financial transactions on my computer, indeed had to go to the local Branch of my former bank yesterday to sort out why they wanted me to pay a charge added to my credit card – 13 months AFTER I closed it off.
20
If a password is stored then it will not be detected by a keylogger when you sign in.
So storing may be safer.
10
Every week we get more and more evidence that the lockdown, masking response is utterly destructive.
“A new report shows that during the pandemic, there were more deaths from “unintentional side effects” than COVID-19, particularly among younger Canadians.”
https://torontosun.com/news/more-young-canadians-died-from-unintentional-side-effects-of-the-pandemic-not-covid
Eventually reports like this will provide overwhelming evidence of negative effects of lockdowns.
Consider this graph below which was recently shown on the Alan Jones show on SKY, showing the figures for the lockdown UK (blue line) and the open Sweden:
I would say that lockdowns are nothing short of a government attack upon the people – prove me wrong.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ffd5506ae9eec8ffdb34617fa32db43a0869fcb08f9b7bcc19390ec93eb90562.jpg
181
Day 487 of the short sharp 14 days to flatten the curve.
It is due to end any day now!
130
It appears lockdowns will be instigated each and every time we have double digit case numbers, which of course is insane. Then again, we already know they are insane on a number of other issues, such as emissions reductions to zero.
150
It has been shown many times that if you want a rise in “cases” at any time, all you need to do is ramp up the PCR cycles and the shrapnel from a head cold from a coronavirus you had two years ago will put you under house arrest.
They will keep all this stuff going for as long as it takes to push the peeps into vaxing – and then once they hit the wall with that approach it will be “no vax passport no Woolies” – or no pension.
140
Sadly that’s true, but it appears that is what the people want.
Its no longer your rights, they belong to everybody else. Some of whom have no problem giving yours away with theirs.
Its for their best interest.
60
See how clever they are? They use scare tactics to try and convince people it’s all for their own good. Hitler used that technique a lot. We are seeing a resurgence of the same sort of methods everywhere. If it continues long enough the people will actually want communism or whatever other totalitarian solution that’s current at the time. WAKE UP AUSTRALIA BEFORE IT”S TOO LATE!
30
weird reasoning. No one ramped up PCR testing in NSW or Victoria. Cases were detected prior to any PCR increase and then all new cases were linked to the initial outbreak – even unlinked ones were shown to be the same vial strain from the initial outbreak. How did “ramping up” make this amazing coincidence of linked cases?
Months of PCR tests prior to the outbreak added up to millions of PCR tests – far more than the last couple of weeks- with no positives.
In summary. You are wrong.
119
He said CT.
You may wish to relocate this comment down thread to mine 16.2.2.1.
30
?
06
OK I see. Still wrong (apart from the fact that no one has increased cycles recently) and the reason is in my response. All positives make sense and are linked to the outbreak. Not one positive is from a non covid virus.
011
Perhaps you people should stop using the term false positive if it does not exist. Like global warming!
The Curative SARS-Cov-2 Assay has been designed to
minimize the likelihood of false positive test results.
However, in the event of a false positive result
https://www.fda.gov/media/137087/download
50
Last time I looked the FDA was one country and June 2020 was a long time ago.
07
Goggle the term and I doubt its changed otherwise they would stop using it, like climate change.
One country, they are all the same.
Looky that same date as our first confirmed case date, https://www.who.int/news/item/20-01-2021-who-information-notice-for-ivd-users-2020-05
WHO reminds IVD users that disease prevalence alters the predictive value of test results; as disease prevalence decreases, the risk of false positive increases (2). This means that the probability that a person who has a positive result (SARS-CoV-2 detected) is truly infected with SARS-CoV-2 decreases as prevalence decreases, irrespective of the claimed specificity.
Cannot find another in WHO of any other date that would be suitable to you.
https://www.theepochtimes.com/who-changes-ccp-virus-test-criteria-in-attempt-to-reduce-false-positives_3668064.html
False positive is used slightly less then “Cases”
10
I will agree with Gee Aye on this one. There is nothing to indicate that the number of cycles being used in the PCR testing has been ramped up to engineer rising case numbers. The Delta variant is simply more infectious because the symptoms are milder and people stay social longer.
The number of cycles being used in the PCR testing has been too high at 45 all along and remains at that.
51
The Delta variant is more infectious. Period
Milder symptoms doesn’t matter and the reason it seems milder is that most old people have been fully vaxxed now.
I think Australia is doing a good job of fighting to get things back under control. Expect you will succeed, even with Delta
113
most old people fully vaxxed, thats a wildly global assumption
120
Its’s a fair assumption even in half vaxxed countries
09
Wrong – the vast majority of cases being detected are not in “older people”. They are in the majority of those being hospitalized, though.
40
Saying so doesnt make it so
Still the only one who has to beleive it is you
40
A SAMPLE WITH A CT OF 30 WILL BE TESTED UP TO 5,368,709,120 TIMES BEFORE IT IS DECLARED NEGATIVE…….
20
Cases are meaningless without defining the PCR cycles used to test. Anything over 25 cycles is nonsense, just amplifying noise. 17-20 is more demonstrative of actual viral load, and then only meaningful if there are symptoms. Every cycle doubles things. 25 cycles is 2^25 = amplification by 33 million. 2^20 = 1 million. 2^17 = 0.13 million.
Govts can get “any number of cases desired by controlling the PCR cycles used”. Figures lie and liars figure.
210
Also increase testing helps the cause, people won’t do the maths, the screen tells them all they need to know.
90
I will do it.
10
ooh dear I’m trolling myself.
50
We are getting there. Eventually we will have people actually believing 2+2=5
00
Incorrect once again. The RT method allows one to view the exact cycle when the positive occurred. Extra cycles are added as a safety to detect positives in case a poor swab or early infection. If the cycles were more than a threshold, the result is considered preliminary and is retested.
In summary. You are wrong.
015
In case this wasn’t clear. A positive in cycle 20 can be observed and recorded when you run 45 cycles.
014
But you can keep amping it up until you hit 45 if none is detected at 20.
You taught me this 🙂
100
20
Incorrect. You can set the cycles for a million if you want but the machine records and displays in real time. If you are watching the screen (or have an alert function that tells you about a positive) at cycle 20 a poisitive at that cycle will be visible the reminaing cycles have a function for helping to estimate concentration but are otherwise unimportant once the positive is detected.
An additional comment about this is that glitchy false positives that occur because of enzyme exhaustion or other long cycle issues, look different and can be disregarded or (to be safe) used to initiate a second test
110
06
Yeah I understand that and should of presented it better. The government has the cycles at 35 to 45.
You can detect anywhere and the detection point (cycle) is known. (like ICP) but you can run up to the Gov max to get that detection. (is that correct?)
I am looking into the primers being used, can you help here?
https://www.genome.gov//genetics-glossary/c#glossary
30
There are many available. I don’t know each and every lab’s preference.
03
Do you mean Primer preference?
For Sar Cov 2.
Got a recipe book for cooking these things up. I am all out of Newt eyes.
30
Yes there is and I think I once attempted to explain it. There are a multitude of possibilities
04
Yes you did explain a bit, how the primer associates (?) with the strand, which was that link I put upstream.
I am looking at how each primer is able to attach to which end, how is that done and how a primer is made for different disease.
Were you involved in the human genome project, amazing feat. looking into this next.
00
I will put the money on the fridge.
00
So where can we see the breakup of detected infections by PCR cycles, Gee Aye?
While your statement is true in isolation, without this breakup being available and with decisions are being being made solely on number of detected infections, regardless of the cycle threshold, your point is irrelevant.
40
Just as irrelevant but much more correct than repeating a fake news trope about 45 cycles
08
What’s the fake part?
That they allow 45 cycles before determining that a sample is negative? That’s a fact.
91
Perhaps, but is not the whole consideration so it is incorrect to state that it is.
01
They are not considering the number of cycles when discussing the extent of outbreaks and they still allow running up to 45 cycles to determine a sample is infected so your point remains irrelevant.
10
Perhaps it does Professor, but we do not get that info! Speculation continues.
What is clear is that primary cases of Covid are allowed 35-40 cycles of amplification to detect a positive, whereas a vaccine failure is only diagnosed at 16 cycles or less. A clear case of manipulating the stats.
70
Whoops,
I meant 26 cycles or less
50
And there is a WHO recommendation to ensure that this exact cycle number be included on each and every test result … and yet it never is published.
That makes no sense, huh?
Almost like they are not trying their best to solve this problem.
If anyone wants to stop rumours and misinformation, heck the answer is so easy … publish the data … give the cycle number for each test. But no one does that. Why?!?
100
I didn’t want to look at it; saw it as a personal matter, but now agree.
Yours in doltery,
KK
00
we should be grateful that Gladys doesn’t care about influenza or pneumonia, they kill about 900 a year each according to NSW Health, with many more hospitalised. No media hysteria, no lockdowns , no money flows.
120
Lucky you. The reason the lockdowns appear to be insane is because they were started early and are effective.
If you waited for triple or quadruple digits before starting, those same lockdowns would take much longer to quench the transmission. Your hospitals would have been overflowing too
29
Hospitals will overflow with a major outbreak or major incident as most are run as full occupancy revenue generators. But yes lockdowns reduce Covid admissions, and flu admissions and accident admissions and even cancer and heart disease admissions, not to mention all those pesky diagnostics, so its a really great safety measure really.
40
Yep cutting back wouldnt help much in India Italy NYC or Indonesia. When the full epidemic wave hit those places it was hopeless and the bodies piled up in the overflow.
All that precautionary emptying didnt prevent the overflow. Might as well not have bothered even trying. Utterly hopeless
09
It only overflowed on the News.
60
Raving – Where HCQ protocol and Ivermectin had been available (not banned) the bodycount has been a lot lower . In the US it is also notable that the temporary hospitals didn’t get used either. The media has consistently peddled misinformation and pushed the fear button . Nearly all of the casualties were old or had co-morbidities . History will view this period as the big panic….
120
Didnt overflow in lots of other places also, but always reported as on the brink of course to keep the fear bubbling
50
And of course we have learnt a bit over the journey and some dont think we are necessarily stuck in 2019-20

Its a global cooling signal?
31
It’s weather.
31
Don’t tell me Prof Stephen Schneider was right all along!
https://vimeo.com/359740172
20
He got it wrong on both counts.
‘Schneider’s paper suggested that the cooling effect of dirty air could outweigh the warming effect of carbon dioxide, potentially leading to an ice age if aerosol pollution quadrupled.’
Read more: https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11643-climate-myths-they-predicted-global-cooling-in-the-1970s/#ixzz70fLYQROJ
The slightly cool period from the end of WW2 until the great climate shift of 1976 was a result of ocean oscillations like PDO, AMO and NAO. This is the path we are going down and if the warmists can say weather is climate, then so can I.
30
Two wrongs do not make a right, we are in this fake climate change crisis garbage because of rank dishonesty, ignorance, Malthusian doom-ism, fraud, political misallocation of public money and corruption. Let’s not add to it by whacking everything in a fake definitions blender, like the climate bullshit ‘artists’ do. The way back out is to tell the truth and keep things in balance.
40
Yeah, that really needs moderation …
10
You are preaching to the converted.
00
I have yet to hear on any MSM news about the massive riots currently in progress in Paris.
Ask YouTube about “Paris riots” and you will only get old stuff, so that’s revealing.
after Macron ordered universal vaccine passports and mandatory Covid shots for all – all except the police, apparently.
Now why would he exempt the police from the vax?
Are the police not at the very front line, interacting with huge crowds of potentially infected people?
Are they not in as much risk as hospital workers?
My theory is that he doesn’t want half the force laid up with vax side-effects when he needs them to protect him and his government.
If they actually believed the vax was protective they would insist on the police getting the vax first.
Are our police getting “fully vaccinated”?

Exactly. And you can bet there’ll be no social security benefits for people who’ve become unemployed through having refused injection. The same will happen wherever this atrocity of mass vaccination is mandated.

Meanwhile in America – Washington Times Editorial
The Biden vax offensive: Not everyone declining the COVID-19 vaccine is a refusenik or fool
There is an old saying that you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink. President Biden surely knows it by heart but doesn’t want to hear it now. By his reckoning, COVID-19 vaccine naysayers are like those stubborn beasts. As refuseniks, they must be made to stop snorting at his medicinal offensive. So long as the U.S. Constitution survives, though, government health policy must not be shoved down Americans’ throats, nor the vaccine into unwilling arms.
The balky behavior on the part of some individuals is showing up in a downturn in the number of shots administered. The seven-day moving average of vaccine doses administered per day peaked at 3.2 million in early April and has fallen to about 370,000, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
With 68 percent of adults having received at least one shot, Mr. Biden is squinting over a U.S. landscape seemingly populated with political contrarians and fools. His solution: send agents to fan out and twist arms until the vax-free agree to roll up their sleeves. “Now we need to go to community-by-community, neighborhood-by-neighborhood,” urged the president last week, “and oftentimes, door-to-door — literally knocking on doors — to get help to the remaining people.”
The vast majority who receive the vaccine are glad they did, but each knows best his own needs. Mr. Biden must remember that while the horse will bear a master, the American will not.
20
“Are our police getting “fully vaccinated”?”
If they are it will be the same type the Prime Dipstick got, but with the fish removed.

Donald Trump is back.
And he was on FIRE on Sunday night in Dallas.
If you missed it, check it out on C-SPAN archives. You won’t find it on any of the big tech companies’ platforms. They have already ghosted it.
That is how good President Trump’s speech was.
Like frogs boiling in water, America has been lulled into accepting incomprehensible gibberish from a doddering old coot shuffling behind a podium bearing the White House seal. The “new normal” is a fossilized old swamp gargoyle fumbling through notes to answer a simple question about Russia from a soda jerk in an ice cream parlor.
American leadership has been defanged and replaced by a set of loose dentures incapable of commanding a cone of soft-serve ice cream — a president whose Secret Service code name is “Silver Alert.”
But the Devil in Dallas is back! And in full form — reminding us all what a live wire in the White House was really like.
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Mr. Trump was viciously funny, scathingly honest and electrically entertaining.
“Like socialist and communist movements throughout history, today’s leftists do not believe in freedom,” he said.
“They do not believe in democracy. They believe in Marxist morality — anything is justified as long as it hurts their political opponents and advances the radical agenda of their party.”
See: George Floyd, global warming, children killed in school shootings, flooded New York City subways, the Florida condo collapse and the China virus pandemic. There is literally no catastrophe known to man that Democrats in Washington will not exploit to increase their own political power.
Mr. Trump was as vicious as he was personal.

It’s summer here in the N hemisphere and covid-19, being nothing more than a seasonal flu, is pretty much gone now. The government and MSM are still trying to keep it alive by threatening everyone with the scary Delta variant, but it is not gaining much traction with the public here.
As a result the government is moving on to the new bogeyman called the Lamda variant, oooh scary!
So when our N hemisphere flu season starts in October and masks and social distancing tyrany are imposed again, you folks might want keep an eye on us because this will likely be your future too.

Anyone try to e-petition on the House of Representatives (the House) website? “remove the state bans on anti-viral prescription by a GP”
110
G’day gowest,
Is this something you tried to establish , or was it one you wanted to sign?
If the former, I’d be surprised if it would be accepted as you’d be asking the federal government to intervene in state affairs, which is against the rule for their petitions.
If the latter there is one which comes close:

I just signed that, but then discovered a rather enigmatic comment when I touched the “Responded” option to be told the Minister has already responded, answer “below”. Not found by me.

Lots of level 3 charging stations but only 3 to 12 plugs each. Enough to support current numbers of EVs but growth will be painful. Dont envy the queues that will form

I’m thinking vast fields like old style drive in movies with a central entertainment precinct. All that tar and cement, an ideal spot for a weather monitoring station I guess.

Its like that Tesla super charger site in Yeah. Everything is fine until the 2 to 4 working charging stations are occupied and a queue of vehicles form to wait their turn. Then it takes 20 min to an hour for each vehicle to recharge. Meanwhile the queue grows behind.
More EVs on the road means that bigger and more frequent queues get created

The story of the Sydney based revivalists provides an interesting snippet on the effectiveness of masks. The fellow making the move to SA wore a mask throughout the loading stage. The removalists did not wear masks. At least three of the 4 revivalists were infectious at the time of loading.
So far a neighbour of the person moving to SA has contracted Covid and shared it with his parents who are aged in their 80s.
The person who has moved to SA is being regularly tested for Covid but has not yet shown any sign of it. It is said he wore a mask throughout the loading and was a close contact of the removalists. I do not know if the person has been vaccinated.

I read that the CCP have bought Ancestry.com and the DNA records. Any others heard this?
20
With a treasury the size of the CCP it’s easier to buy than do the work.
That applies to politicians too. How cheap was a few mill to buy Biden when his boss didn’t give a rat’s, prolly took a take. Easier too to steal industrial secrets until there is a chip shortage and China realises they have no expertise, just spies.
Russia jacked up on them stealing their technology [What’s the Concordski and the replica B 29 down to having “Boeing” stamped on the rudder pedals between friends] and the world is bailing up on their bullying.
China built a fancy building complete with computer systems for the African National Council [Knowing China it was more likely a loan]. Naturally it had a back door that allowed China to sweep everything each night. The Africans replaced the computer, [declining China’s offer to do it] and swept the building, there were cameras and mics everywhere.
I believe China is riding for a fall. Xi is making too many enemies and there are big gaps in their technology where they have no domestic expertise. Musk will rue the day he did a deal with them. They will sideline him without a penny.

7-13-21 Report: More US vaccine deaths last week than COVID-19 deaths
The government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS, contains voluntary, unverified reports of adverse events following immunization with U.S.-licensed vaccines. But it’s estimated that only between 1% and 10% of the adverse events that occur are reported to VAERS. https://www.wnd.com/2021/07/4930349/

Israeli researchers, ( according to The Jerusalem Post ) have found that 36% of people who have died after getting the Covid vaccine did not have any antibodies in their systems. They all had co morbidities such as obesity and diabetes, not to mention heart disease etcetera. Perhaps elderly people and those with poor health should have their immune systems checked before having a vaccine.

No jab, no job, no COVID-19 vaccination, NO WAY (G&B Lawyers litigation fundraiser)
-The State and Commonwealth Governments have introduced legislation which compel people to have flu vaccinations. Soon enough they will try and force and or coerce people to have a COVID-19 vaccination.
-Section 51(xxiiiA) was introduced into the Constitution to provide that whilst the Commonwealth Parliament can validly make laws with respect to the provision of benefits and for medical services, it is not authorised to make laws providing for the complete control of medical services rendered by any person to any other person.
-The High Court considered this way back in 1949. The then Chief Justice Latham was concerned with the power of the Commonwealth to control and conscript physicians’ services through economic conscription. He defined ‘civil conscription’ in the following way: “The term ‘civil conscription’ is wider than industrial conscription. It is applicable in the case of any civilian service, i.e. non-military, work or service. It could properly be applied to any compulsion of law requiring that men should engage in a particular occupation, perform particular work, or perform work in a particular way.”
-He also alluded to European history before and during World War II saying: “There could in my opinion be no more effective means of compulsion than is to be found in a legal provision that unless a person acts in a particular way he shall not be allowed to earn his living in the way, and possibly in the only way, in which he is qualified to earn a living.” Latham CJ stressed the importance of this and said that any service to which the limitation applied should be completely voluntary and not procured by compulsion of law.
-The constitutional objective was to safeguard the right to be free from governmental interference in making choices about one’s health care. This is a fundamental civil right. This means that the State and Commonwealth Governments are unable to introduce any laws that compel individuals to have a flu shot or any mandatory COVID-19 vaccination. Any laws that try to do that are unlawful and should be struck out. It also means that the Governments are unable to enforce any laws that purport to say that a person is unable to be employed or work in a particular industry or refrain from entering into a particular premises for failing to have a flu shot or COVID-19 vaccination.
-All funds raised will go towards the legal battle ahead. Nathan Buckley, the promoter of this campaign is a lawyer and Partner of G&B Lawyers, a Sydney city based law firm who believes in the protection of fundamental freedoms for all Australians.

The total population of Australia is 24,772,247. The average age is about 38.3 years. Life expectancy in Australia is 82.1. The female fertility rate in Australia is 1.9. About 27% of the Australian population is obese. Ethnic diversity is almost the same on a fractionation scale of 0.0929 for Australia. I wonder how the numbers will change after the end of the pandemic?
10
Which aspect do you expect to change? the virus itself is having less than a rounding error impact on anything , however the impact of lockdowns may flow on for a very long time.
20
Lockdown problems not experienced by politicians:
Closure of business for a week.
Worry over fifteen years of building to save deposit and rent premises.
Closure of adjacent businesses next to yours reducing clientele for all when business reopens.
Children unable to attend school now that “remote learning” is the go.
Anxiety in setting up the remote learning system and organising the three children on a rotating share basis.
Thank heavens, back to business.
Unfortunately the number of new cases is worrying the premier and a new shutdown is set to start in three days.
In a way that’s a relief because it’s not good to leave the kids home on their own.
Note to call bank at the end of the week to defer business mortgage taken out at startup.
Regional shutdown extended for another ten days.
On checking the business a terrible smell is present: seems to be coming from the fruit, vegetable and grocery store two doors up. It’s not that bad though.
Several politicians on radio and television says that “we can get through this” and “Australians are tough” and will bounce back.
You can only hide from the truth briefly here; the big social collapse is coming soon.
30
“About 27% of the Australian population is obese.”
The number of people with diabetes is extraordinary; a radio broadcast the other day mentioned over 110,000 people had it but not sure if that was a national figure or just New South Wales.
This devastating condition is totally hidden by the Government Medical Officers and is a massive issue compared with CV19.
You can constantly hear cries about the need for lockdown and the “exponential” virus but the real Disease of the moment is Affluenza.
There is good news though; in France and Britain there have substantial gatherings of citizens on the streets protesting about Government. This is a sign of hope.
Sadly, in South Africa heading in the other direction there’s rioting, smashing, looting and ugliness that echoes the BLM example of self destruction. This action makes no sense at all. Why would anyone smash and burn down their own home?
10
Probably not important, merely of interest, to most here but bitcoin has dropped to under $32 K. If that sounds too much to you it does to me too but it is half it’s peak just a few months ago.
If a share in a business drops dramatically there is usually a point where its intrinsic value is greater than its price, this happened to Game Stop and the theatre co the same Reddit group are targeting now. But what is the intrinsic value of bitcoin? I suggest zero. Its price is too volatile to be considered a store of wealth, who wants to sell a house and have the “currency” in which you did the deal drop by 5% [viz other assets] before you have cleared funds?
There are thousands of bitcoin millionaires who have witnessed their seven figure wealth shrink to six figures, thousands who have witnessed their prospective north suburbs house shrink to a duplex in the south west. How long will they hang in there?
I would rather hold Tesla stock.
70
It is very surprising that the anti carbon dioxide lobby including banks, superannuation funds, governments, woke executives are not attacking bitcoin. The energy required to mine bitcoin is probably bigger than all of Australia’s energy use and therefore it is a ‘polluter’ on a National scale. Nothing is said.
That’s because it is all fake. Not just the idea that carbon dioxide is pollution but that anyone actually cares.
Bitcoin itself has a place as a short term trading substitute for the other standard, the American dollar. Long term, no. A lot of countries were badly burned by the loss of trillions invested safely in America before the GFC. Remember that? People, countries like China lost the lot. Trillions invested ‘safely’ in fake mortgages. Not because the currency collapsed, but because you have to park it somewhere. Hopefully with earnings.
Bitcoin owners have nowhere to park their savings except with the bitcoin markets themselves. Now we have the bitcoin traders like Binance taking everyone’s savings. And the shadowy Chinese figures suddenly take the lot, like the thousands who lost everything in the recent Binance lockout and trying to sue someone for the theft. Their positions were raided when they were locked out and with no assets, they were thrown off the platform. Millionaire to zero in hours. And the problem they have is that the company does not exist in the way that it has a head office and is subject to any laws.
So bitcoin has value only in trading, often in illicit markets. You cannot hoard it, invest in it long term. Nor American dollars, as the GFC proved. Sooner or later you have to have real assets, gold, real estate and assets which generate steady income, which is near impossible with just cash at the moment.

US Govt is now getting into the mission of directing “Big Tech” on how to silence vax “misinformation”.
“In a 22-page publication intended to allow only one standard for acceptable discussion as sanctioned by the U.S. government, the Surgeon General tells Big Tech what to do:
“Prioritize early detection of misinformation “super-spreaders” and repeat offenders. Impose clear consequences for accounts that repeatedly violate platform policies.” (page 12)
In other words, silence the opposition. The Government will be the “single source of truth“.”
This is getting out of hand. This isn’t about helping people. It is about furthering an agenda.

You have to understand the left think backwards. Proof that a theory is false makes it more true. I am not exaggerating. That’s how much of the left think. The reasoning is simple. They hate the truth so they will use lies instead to bend things and make their lies appear to be facts. What’s ironic is too many people who are not of the left fall for those lies. The reasoning is simple again; they don’t bother to do their own research to find out they are indeed lies and too many as a result fall for them. It then becomes like a snowball rolling down a hill. The lies get bigger and bigger until it smashes into something and destroy it. That’s what’s happening to the West, if nothing is done to wake up the people, the West will crash and burn.

Meta-analyses based on 18 randomized controlled treatment trials of ivermectin in COVID-19 have found large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance. Furthermore, results from numerous controlled prophylaxis trials report significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with the regular use of ivermectin. Finally, the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.

The ECM 10-day rain forecast shows this is baloney, ~1 inch of rain is forecast over the next 10 days. Horrifiying!
https://i.ibb.co/XbqK6dZ/2021-07-16-080906.png
Once in a generation floods? Really? Torrential rain to come? I checked the 24 hour forecast too, and almost all the rain forecast falls in Switzerland and France, about 35mm to 40mm. Incidental amounts and areas in Germany … the squeaky wheel gets the oil.
40
Terribly sorry for those who have perished in these catastrophic floods. Nature is so unforgiving. I have seen the pictures, a lot of the flooding appears to be in in low lying valleys. Europe has had many of these 1 in 100 year events over the last 25 years or so.
The mayor of one the towns blamed climate change and called for faster take up of renewables.
Not sure if that will make any difference. Better to spend money on rivers and waterways and infrastructure flood mitigation and protect people in those flood prone areas.

I posted this on another site:-
The current Europe floods are unprecedented, record breaking, definitely climate change we are being told by BBC et al. Bad yes, but that unexpected?
Parts of W.Germany had 3 month’s of rain they said – seems about right, the weatherman quoted the 3 top places as about 150mm in 24hrs, but that is under half the record.
This is not that unusual for a stalled storm system in Europe, neither are devastating floods around the Ahr/Rhine. A similar weather pattern example July 2014, and a table of extreme rainfalls/periods for Germany.
https://www.wunderground.com/blog/weatherhistorian/national-24hour-precipitation-records.html
Other historic floods.
https://second.wiki/wiki/hochwasser_in_mitteleuropa_1501
Looking here at the 2001-20 section, lots of years have dozens of deaths in Europe floods.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deadliest_floods
Are Europe floods getting more deadly – well very modern records are no doubt more complete and more stuff has been built in the ‘wrong’ places and more landscape altered, so who knows if they are or if it’s linked to climate change?
50
Going back even further.
‘The rains of 1315 started in spring. In England, the rains started from Pentecost (seven weeks from Easter), from mid-April in France and from the beginning of May in the Low Countries. Records left by nature and humanity confirm the rain alike. Tree ring data from Ireland reveal that 1315 was a year of extraordinary growth for oak trees. Also, chroniclers of the time have recorded “During this season it rained marvelously and for so long” and that “Exceedingly great rains descended from the heavens.”
‘The rains, right away, spread throughout northern Europe, establishing the settings for a universal famine. Heavy rains affected from Ireland to the Baltics, and from southern Scandinavia to the Alps. The rains continued throughout the summer and after the rains came an unusually cold winter.’
30
Methinks it has something to do with La Nina like conditions prevailing.
‘The two types of La Niña can give rise to a significantly different teleconnection around the globe. As a response to the Eastern Pacific La Niña, the North Atlantic and Western European region experiences the atmospheric anomaly resembling a negative North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) pattern accompanied by a weakening Atlantic jet.’

PS, how do you do the link like that, I have been playing but can’t figure it out?
10
Read posted item. Take your pleasant pill. Click “Reply”.
“Reply to …. Cancel reply” box opens up.
Type in your reply. If you want to make some of the words of your reply a link highlight that text
then go to the “bar of things” immediately under “Reply to…. Cancel reply” and click on the underlined word in blue which says “link”.
This will open a drop down and you type or paste your web address link there and press enter.
The drop down disappears, you are back in your comment and you will notice the html of the link with .
You now have the power. Use it wisely.
20
That is the problem with using html symbols in ordinary text they get suppressed. The comment “…you will notice the html of the link with ” went on to say how the pointy brackets (like arrow heads) and with the letter “a” and “slash a” will appear in your text, leave that as it is. Cheers
10
I sometimes have trouble using the link option and get inconsistent results
If you just paste a link as text the site sorts it out and presents it as a link
20
That’s good enough for me. I’m a bit colourblind [colour defective-safe is my official grading*] and run my monitor in “night shift” mode to stop eye strain and often miss embedded links.
* Never good enough for aircrew but OK for a groundy but I did have trouble with thin colour code bands on resistors etc.
I still remember the chant: Black [black 0] B* [brown 1] R* [red 2] Our [orange 3] Young [Yellow 4] Girl [green 5] Bluddy [blue 6] Virginity [violet 7] Gone [grey 8] West [white 9}. Because garden variety resistors had 20% tolerance the standard values were 20% graded 1.2 [brown red], 2.7 [red violet], 4.7 ;yellow violet] and 6.8 [blue grey] with the third colour band being the zeros.
Analogue electronics was never precise. 😀
00
Especially since the resistors are binned according to their variation from nominal so a 20% tolerance resistor is guaranteed to be either 10-20% over or 10-20% under nominal, a 10% tolerance resistor is guaranteed to be either 5-10% over or 5-10% under nominal, etc. Only with a 0.005% tolerance resistor do you have a chance of the resistor being of nominal resistance.

The results from the global experiment should be very interesting. More time needed – say another year. By that time we ought to have a really good idea of whether those who are pushing the vaccines have done the right thing or they ought to be charged with crimes against humanity. Of course if the latter they will dream up yet another crisis to divert attention. I have a good idea what that crisis will be but rather than speculate let’s just wait and see.

Now the Amazon is causing AGW.
Why has it taken them so long to discover that trees actually produce CO2.
60
Is this a trick question?
30
🙂
Well, trees etc do take in CO2 through the day and “sequester” it in its structure.
It’s night time that brings out the boogeyman when some CO2 is put back into the atmosphere from the trees.
Monitoring large fields of crops has shown a nighttime level of CO2 up to 1250 ppm above them.
Absolutely frightening; perhaps the UNIPCCC could call a halt to all farming?
50
“Now the Amazon is causing AGW.”
With all of those Amazon delivery trucks driving through my neighborhood all of the time, I’m not surprised to hear that.
90
Yes I knew from my University days many moons ago that trees do put out a some CO2 at night but clearly they take in a lot more during the day. So, what’s next? We need to get rid of people because we always exhale CO2, day and night? Oh, I just remembered, they already want to do that for other reasons. They can go first and the rest of us will wait.
60
Which is why hospitals has historically not allowed flowers to be kept in wards overnight. The CO2 increase would intuitively seem to be utterly inconsequential but such is the conservative nature of the medical community (unless presented with studies from big pharmaceutical companies).

That’s a laugh, and one of the comments ;

I get angry reading the opinions in the Australian, which is a balanced newspaper, but it is page after page of Climate. And our Climate obligations. The EU’s new tariffs are to protect their ‘carbon policy’. But no one mentions China, except in passing. Clearly half the world is not interested in carbon policy or even looking after reefs, unless they are in Australia.
But we also had Greta Thunberg, high school dropout, telling that mankind will not stop the rise of 1.5C by 2100 and that the species will not survive. That she says is ‘science fact’. And she is one of millions of self appointed climate specialists, like the Climate Council in which not one is a meteorologist.
I would love to know how much the last 1.5C since 1880 has hurt anyone. I know Hitler at Stalingrad in 1942 at -40C would not have paid a cent for an extra 1.5C. Nor has there been anyone particularly hurt by that 1.5C. And the CO2 increase which accompanied it has done nothing but good as admitted by their CSIRO and NASA. And rising ocean surface temperatures would increase CO2, so why isn’t that a complete explanation?
Anyway, could someone explain how the planet is going to expire if the temperature goes up another mighty 1.5C? It made no difference last time and I have never read how a increase would do anything but improve the place. *Antarctica never gets above -20C and China, India, Russia, Vietnam, Indonesia do give a toss. What ‘science fact’ does Greta have that no one else has?
*This is despite the recent report that Antarctica reached a record of 18.3C but they fail to say that this was on Esperanza island at the Argentine base at which houses 55 people actually water moderated 14km north of the Antarctic peninsula and 1300km from most of Antarctica. It is at 63 degrees South. Technically very much like getting the maximum temperature of Britain from Gibraltar.
120
If someone had told me many years that humans controlled the climate of the planet, I would have been past sceptical. Now after 33 years of indoctrination by the media, I have yet to see any proof that CO2 affects temperature.
But the essential prior is completely missing is that we humans can control CO2. For that to happen, our CO2 would have to be forbidden from entering the vast oceans when the commonly accepted and science demonstrable fact is that half the CO2 turns over every 5 years and does not accumulate. This is the most inconvenient truth, proven for at least 60 years.
90
I used to think in terms of who was on China’s payroll – which politicians, journalists, academics.
Now I ask myself who isn’t. I suspect that it is a short list and getting shorter.
60
Unfortunately in the modern material world, ethics is some sort of model aeroplane glue. Almost no one has heard of it in those three groups. Stand on principle? Never! I do not think it is just China or the UN or its offshoots, but there are those main chancers, incompetents, populists in the worst meaning of the word, climatebaggers and just crooks for whom jobs, money, power matter and little else. I know too many who just stay silent if it is a choice between their jobs and their sure and certain knowledge that it is all a lie.
And then you get a group of incompetents who rise to the lies. Another PR person for a bank who talks about their moral obligations in climate, something which never happens in the real world of banking. Or even heads of engineering companies, anyone who gets too close to global politics. Otherwise no one will even be photographed with you, denier.
So they all prove their credentials by inviting grumpy Greta to address them on why they are so evil, like a room full of Monty Burns from the Simpsons (see my loafers former gophers).
And while professing to be so Christian, Catholic, Joe Biden is an enthusiastic supporter of taxpayer funded paid free abortion even to full term. And we used to lock people up for m*rdering babies. So caring. Whatever.

Jeremy Clarkson and James May were well ahead of time
Dodgems – 2011
Top Gear wouldn’t be Top Gear without a little silliness of course.
The cars’ final destination was a stop at a fairground dodgem ride. Why end here? Well, according to both Clarkson and May, what the EV network really needs is the road network to be shrouded in electrified chicken wire, with all EVs taking their current from the grid above like a giant dodgem ride…
Motorways will be fitted with overhead electric wires that can charge eTrucks on the move in bid to ban sale of diesel-powered HGVs by 2040
. Ministers have announced plans to fit UK motorways with overhead electric wires that can charge e-Trucks
. Part of ambitious plans to cut carbon emissions by banning the sale of diesel-powered HGVs by 2040
. Creation of so-called e-highways are among Boris Johnson’s sweeping proposals to ‘decarbonise’ transport
. Initiative is believed to be based on trial system in Germany, which is similar to how electric trams operate
50
I have always thought it would be very little cost to put cruise control wires in our freeways. Just a signal to follow for automatic steering. And radar for braking. That covers a vast amount of the world’s middle to long distance commuting in safety. And given most cars have electrically controlled steering and brakes and increasingly radar, would be a major improvement in a crowded world.
But the idea of electric cars means we have to double electricity capacity and wasn’t that the alleged problem? Who is paying for all that? And why? Electric cars generate much more deadly emissions (harmless carbon dioxide) from coal than hybrids because of the simple fact of distribution losses.
70
Come to think about it EV’s will only ever be good if they have their own isolated power source. Forget batteries. Apart from the distribution losses you mentioned, batteries use environmentally hazardous materials and techniques to make them, dispose them, etc.. Perhaps one day we can make a very small nuclear reactor of sorts or some other completely different technology, to fit in a car that’s much more environmentally safe. Clearly that’s a very long time away. In essence then we would be far better off sticking with fossil fuel for a very long time to come.
30
You keep repeating that……SO , i will keep repeating this…
Switching 50% of Australia’s cars to EVs would increase the grid demand (for charging ), by less than 6% , ( or 30 GWh per day.)….a figure that is well within the available current installed generation capacity.
But there is no chance of getting 50% EVs within 10 years, ..so plenty of time to plan and add even more capacity if required.
13
Firstly, I have never said that before.
Secondly we can check your 6% quickly, as you have given no reference. A little arithmetic.
20 million cars not counting trucks etc. in Australia.
Let’s consider they were all 80kwhr Teslas so 1600 Gwhr per day if they had to charge every day and they would not be stuck in garages in the inner city by virtue signalling owners. Many people drive great distances every day. Perhaps not public servants who are busy shutting roads and stopping freeways, even underground.
So where did you get your 30 GWhr per day? It’s off by a factor of 50. Charge once a week and you are only off x10.
Australia’s annual electricity consumption is 270Twhr, so about 720Mhwr per day. So even halve my figure and you still have to double generation and of course, build distribution which does not exist. We never had to pay for petrol stations, but for some reason we have an obligation to pay for your electric car.
80
You should slow down a little when checking..
Firstly there are not 20 m passenger cars in Au. !
https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/industry/tourism-and-transport/motor-vehicle-census-australia/latest-release
There are 20m registered vehicles, of which 74% are cars (14.8m ?)
Secondly, few people drive ling distances daily.
The average daily distance travelled by passenger cars 34 kms
Average daily driving distance ..34 km/day
https://www.budgetdirect.com.au/car-insurance/research/average-kilometers
driven.html
So , 34 kms x 14.8 m cars = 504 mkms per day.
A typical EV uses 16kWh per 100kms
..or 160MWh per million kms
So for the 504 mil kms/day , that would require 81.0 GWh per day
BUT , i said 50% of current cars converted to EVs, so that daily figure would be 40.5 GWh per day.
And since as you say, our current consumption is about 720 GWh per day, that 40.5 GWh represents just 5.6% of current consumption.
And im sure you would agree that sort of extra demand is within current operating capacity ?
12
If range of EV is not important based on the excuse that the average daily distance driven is 34 km, who equip EV with more than 100 km range capacity and lower the weight and impact on roads, and improve performance generally, and lower retail price?
Makes no sense to provide more than 100 km based on the now often used average excuse.
Or is a fact that many passenger vehicles are used for weekends away and longer holiday travelling a few times a year and the convenience of ICEV range, even for people who can make do with a small vehicle, in EV a much more expensive than ICEV small vehicle.
And by the way, when discussing replacement of batteries that must be accounted for as an operating expense, most ordinary Australians who cannot afford even a small expensive EV keep their vehicle ten years or more, and many buy second-hand vehicles from company and government fleet sales, and then keep them for years.
The EV revolution being talked up by monitoring organisations, politicians, warming hoaxers and others is not convincing the masses.
20
I was with you until this: And im sure you would agree that sort of extra demand is within current operating capacity ?
We are already on the power poverty line, we have no savings [spare capacity]. If an unexpected bill comes in [major outage] we need to go to the payday lenders [diesel fuel]. And that is BEFORE we destroy more “on demand” capacity.
BTW What’s the average commute in Sydney? We have smaller commutes in the regions but we also do more intercity driving for sports, weddings, funerals, birthdays etc.
If a hundred EVs converged on Charters Towers for the Gold Field Ashes [www.goldfieldashes.com.au] or Boulia for the Dirt and Dust Festival [https://www.dirtndust.com], how do people get home? Queensland’s west is already below the power poverty line. There and in the Territory they already depend on OC gas. copperstring2.com.au
Taking the road less travelled will be a distant memory.
30
You have shaved and shaved. And then you halved it. The average distance driven is a furphy. It includes a lot of inner city cars which do not leave the garage or stay in suburb. The median is much higher than the average, weighted by cars which do not move.
And no one trusts the advertised range/energy consumption on electric cars, if only because it is so dependent on the drive. It is all part of the sales pitch, not the real world. Electric car costs more if you go faster at freeway speeds, like all other cars. And real cars leave the city, go faster and encounter hills and headwinds.
There is still the underlying idea that everyone should pay for electric cars which for most people would be near useless. And for all the non existent infrastructure and charging stations. A massive cost.
However a hybrid car has less total CO2 output than an electric car, is much cheaper, has a 1,000km+ range and does not require a cent from anyone else. They are comparable in price to petrol only cars.
There is no future in electric cars. They are a fantasy. However all the major manufacturers are switching to hybrids in the form of mild hybrids, about 16% battery.
So why should the public pay a cent to subsidize fully electric cars?
And as electric cars weigh much more than petrol cars, often 600kg more they should pay more for road maintenance. If you want a fast charging station, buy one.
40
And the average km of the 25% of registrations you deleted is over 500km a day, far more than passenger cars. So what exactly is the point of electric cars for only passenger cars and only 50% of them? There has to be a reason to tax everyone for private indulgence.
20
A golf cart would meet my average daily drive but it wouldn’t get me to town and back, just the local shopping centre.
Averages are a fallacy. Want to drive on a bridge designed to carry average loads?
20
No !
..I just confronted you with actual facts !……(with references)
…..something you seem to have a problem accepting !
And you seem to want to mix up the core discussion with irrelevant points ?
Since you seem uncomfortable with the concept of an “average”,..why dont we consider the TOTAL kms travelled by passenger vehicles ?..
Here is another data source..
https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/industry/tourism-and-transport/survey-motor-vehicle-use-australia/latest-release
From the ABS data,.. Total kms travellled was 163,000 million
Or the Budget survey reported 180,000 mill
That would indicate an annual additional “recharge demand” of 28.8 TWh….(Using 16km/kWh consumption) … for 100% EV use.
But since i only suggested 50% as an example , that would equate to 14.4 TWh annually
Which using the REAL total current consumption for Australia of 200 TWh would represent a 7.2% , (39.4 GWh/day) increase.!
Incidentally i do not use manufacturers consumption figures, i prefer actual results from road tests and long term reviews.
Also , i am talking just cars because that is what you initially suggested, and also because that is the only realistic sector that EVs are significantly being adopted.
However , even if you covered ALL the vehicle mileage (255mkm) that is only 30% more kms,..so say that doubles the power demand, …that would still only be less than 15% of current demand ( and LESS than current capacity !)….and a long way short of your claimed DOUBLING of grid capacity.
10
I’m interested in this topic and would like to see the data used in the calculations. One piece of data I’m definitely interested in is the average weekly distance for car travel. Do you have any figures for this?
10
Using me as a country town resident who travelled regularly before COVID-19 as an example, I was averaging 50,000 km a year and now with the virus handicap I am still driving 20,000 km a year.
Almost 55 km a day on average.
20
So an EV would suit you perfectly, just don’t have a night on the town and stay in a hotel for the night, a night missed charging will mean you have to stay in the office next day. Tell that guy in the next city that wanted to buy a house to take a hike.
There is just no flexibility.
00
Thanks Dennis, but I think we need the average for all vehicles across Australia. Surely that data is available somewhere?
00
Why dont you use the links provided ?
..or ar least learn to Google /DDG ?
00
Enough of the averages Chad. If you were an EV owner in Townsville any time in the last week and needed to rush to your friend’s bedside in Rockhampton, you would be up sheet’s creek. Your EV wouldn’t do it in a timely manner and there isn’t a hire car available for love nor money. You may have to fly to Bris to get back to Rocky. Two drivers in a hybrid – 8 hours.
Have you figures on how many EV owners ALSO own ICE cars? It is a modest percentage who trade an EV on another.
10
Sure, there are many reasons why EVs are not practical for many people,
Infact i could argue that is exactly why i based my argument on 50% EV take up,…because many will never be able to use them !
….but that was not the point !
Just To be clear, the discussion was about how much extra electrical power would be required for an EV fleet …TdeF claiming it would require a doubling of grid capacity …….It would not .

The guardian article on the Egyptian IVM study ended by saying, IVM hype is being dominated by “a mix of right wing figures, anti vaxxers, and outright conspiracists.” Well no, it seems to be dominated by doctors on the coalface, doctors who are actually going face to face with covid, people actually trying to help people. These aren’t just key board warriors. And there are a number of pretty highly qualified on-lookers, commentating from the side-lines- the Weinsteins, Dr Chris Martenson. I don’t think these guys fit the above description.
Is the divide ivory tower/coalface. How many of our bureaucrats have actually heard real hypoxic breathing, let alone had to deal with it?
Now NSW is getting people in hospital, I wonder if anyone will ask what treatments they are getting. We do have the trusty Remdesivir.
90
Odd isn’t it that it is obviously a massive campaign to silence so many doctors and others who know what they are talking about. This sort of thing used to happen only in places like the old Soviet Russia. I suppose it won’t take much effort now to form a NWO – we are almost there already. I suspect it’s going to happen sooner than I even thought.
40
I doubt Fauci has had a patient die on him. These front line doctors have had too many, they want to limit the grief, their own and the family’s.
10
I doubt Fauci has had any patients for decades. The guy has been entrenched in federal bureaucracy for that long.

It is fascinating to read “the efficacy of a drug being promoted by rightwing figures worldwide for treating Covid-19 is in serious doubt after a major study suggesting the treatment is effective against the virus was withdrawn due to “ethical concerns”.
The study, published as a pre-print on the Research Square website in November, was retracted yesterday by Research Square due to ethical concerns. What those concerns were is not stated.
https://www.theguardian.com/science/2021/jul/16/huge-study-supporting-ivermectin-as-covid-treatment-withdrawn-over-ethical-concerns
The study had formed a crucial piece of evidence in the pro-ivermectin case and its removal largely destroys the current scientific case for using the drug in COVID-19 care.
A medical student in London, Jack Lawrence, was among the first to identify serious concerns about the paper, leading to the retraction.
https://grftr.news/why-was-a-major-study-on-ivermectin-for-covid-19-just-retracted/
Lawrence contacted an Australian chronic disease epidemiologist from the University of Wollongong, Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz, and a data analyst affiliated with Linnaeus University in Sweden who reviews scientific papers for errors, Nick Brown, for help analysing the data and study results more thoroughly.
Brown created a comprehensive document uncovering numerous data errors, discrepancies and concerns According to his findings the authors had clearly repeated data between patients.
https://steamtraen.blogspot.com/2021/07/Some-problems-with-the-data-from-a-Covid-study.html
Meyerowitz-Katz said “This is one of the biggest ivermectin studies out there”, and it appeared to him the data was “just totally faked”. This was concerning because two meta-analyses of ivermectin for treating Covid-19 had included the Elgazzar study in the results.
“Because the Elgazzar study is so large, and so massively positive – showing a 90% reduction in mortality – it hugely skews the evidence in favour of ivermectin,” Meyerowitz-Katz said.
“If you remove this one study from the scientific literature, suddenly there are very few positive randomised control trials of ivermectin for Covid-19. Indeed, if you get rid of just this research, most meta-analyses that have found positive results would have their conclusions entirely reversed.”
To date, much of the evidence supporting ivermectin’s use in treating COVID-19 has been weak and inconsistent. A few studies have found a positive effect for ivermectin, with many others finding no effect.
In a June 2021 paper published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases summarising the current ivermectin research landscape, the authors concluded “In comparison to standard of care or placebo, IVM did not reduce all-cause mortality, length of stay or viral clearance in randomised controlled trialsCTs in COVID-19 patients with mostly mild disease. IVM did not have an effect on adverse events (AE) or severe AEs. IVM is not a viable option to treat COVID-19 patients.
https://academic.oup.com/cid/advance-article/doi/10.1093/cid/ciab591/6310839
Other academics have argued that “research related to ivermectin in COVID-19 has serious methodological limitations resulting in very low certainty of the evidence.”

^^^yes !^^^. Surfing is a much more popular sport today than even just 10 yrs ago..
00
Surfers are now surfing in places that would have been avoided fifty years ago.
Nets seemed to help but many surf adjacent to river mouths, also on unpatrolled very isolated spots and before Sun up and late at night. There were 38 blokes on boards at one spot last week, and it was dark.
Unpatroled spots don’t have someone on lookout who can sound a warning siren if trouble comes looking.
Ten years before I was born my mother’s best friend lost her brother to a shark so it was always something to think about while treading water waiting for a wave out the back.
20
Sixty years ago NOBODY swam off our beach. There were shark-proof enclosures that swimmers restricted themselves to. I remember a monster shark drawn up on the foreshore and stories of a good swimmer who went out one night and never returned.
A guy I worked with set off in a kayak to paddle to the Island. He wasn’t a good swimmer and borrowed a mae west from the RAAF store. There was a wind blowing and we warned him of his folly. Oddly there had been some sewerage work in the lines and the repair looked like a grave and a wag had put a cross over it. We told him “It will be RIP Bongo if you do this”. He did, and it was. The mae west was found rather torn.
I spent a lot of time in the estuaries in my 10ft blunt front punt and swimming in the creeks, but NEVER in open water. Never got eaten by a shark either. If you go surfing remote WA beaches ya takes ya chances.

immunisation means: “the action of making a person or animal immune to infection, typically by inoculation”.
if the covid vaccines lead to ‘immunisation’ how come people still catch it and die from it.

Pursuing Truth in COVID Drug Treatment Amid a Censored Media Landscape
The death rate from COVID-19 is dramatically low at United Memorial Medical Center in Houston, TX compared to other hospitals across the nation and the world. Despite Dr. Joseph Varon’s popularity on TV, news personalities avoid questions of why he’s having success treating his patients. As it turns out, he’s using drugs the WHO and CDC recommend against.

“TOYOTA SET TO LOSE BILLIONS OVER $55,000—“GET WOKE, GO BROKE,” BABY!”
https://richardsonpost.com/howellwoltz/22650/toyota-set-to-lose-billions/
40
It had to happen some time. Toyota has been on a very good run for many years. Like all other car companies there comes a time when they do something really stupid and they decline. Not sure if this car in question is the trigger or not. Time will tell.
20
Dont really see Toyota loosing billions because one guy is having a sook. The Rav4 in all its forms is an extremely popular car.
10
The author did NOT say the Rav 4 is a bad car, we all know it is excellent, if overpriced. He just said he wouldn’t buy it, as he wouldn’t buy Woka Cola.
There is no point changing banks because your current one pisses you off – They all will eventually, and methinks that’s the way it is with auto manufacturers.
10
and I didnt say he did H. As per your point he didnt buy one, big deal, Toyota isnt going to loose billions because he has a boycott fantasy
00
Just remember how many Republicans there are in US.
Seems they are responding and telling Toyota why

“Heat waves and hot air”
“Heat waves are the new polar bears, stoking alarm about climate change. Climate scientists addressing this in the media are using misleading and/or inadequate approaches. How should we approach assessing whether and how much manmade global warming has contributed to recent record breaking temperatures? Read on for some outside-the-box thinking on this.”

Deep in comments there is this on the first diagram
“Chris Hanley
July 15, 2021 9:54 pm
That diagram at the top is fatuous, so there are extremes at each end of a normal distribution chart, who knew?
It derives from the Australian Climate Commission based on the IPCC (2007); the Climate Commission established by the Left ALP government in 2011 was abolished by PM Tony Abbott in 2013.
The horizontal axis is supposed to represent a temperature scale from coldest (-93C Vostok 1983) to hottest 57C (Death Valley 1913) i.e. 150C.
Even if taken seriously the supposed average surface T from ‘Old Climate’ (14C) to ‘New Climate’ (14.9C) is a shift of ~1C or barely visible if plotted on the diagram the same applying at both extremes.”

Where, in the grand scheme of things, does a beautiful warm mid-winter day fit? Those experiencing it would object strongly if the climate moderators were to wave their wand and dump a foot of snow on them.
Someone said GA was enjoying our northern hospitality and gorgeous weather last week. Was she ringing a bell warning of the coming apocalypse that such weather portends or did she simply agree that it was indeed “gorgeous weather”?
FWIW our visitors with the Super Cars circus, here for two weeks, must be thinking lockdown has never been so good.

I don’t get it. Why aren’t people at least taking aspirin?
Sorry if I’m beating a drum but nattokinase has genuine anti-clotting agents. I am definitely going to take it before and after I am forced to have the jab.

some speculative legal argument:
The federal government of Australia cannot make a law mandating vaccinations because of s51(xxiiiA) of the Australian Constitution.
2.1.3 of the Australian Immunisation Handbook 10th Edition encodes this as a legal requirement of valid consent.
The Australian Immunisation Handbook is a guideline recommendations approved by the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health and Medical Research Council under section 14A of the National Health and Medical Research Council Act 1992.
A guideline is delegated legislation (per federal government website).
If there is an inconsistency between state and federal law, the federal law prevails to the extent of the inconsistency (section 109 of Australian Constitution).
A ‘law’ for the purpose of inconsistency includes delegated legislation (O’Sullivan)
A state law mandating vaccination is contrary to the guideline recommendations of Australian Immunisation Handbook and so invalid to the extent of any inconsistency.
conclusion: neither state nor federal governments can mandate vaccinations
30
OK, you can’t mandate injections but doesn’t a “passport” achieve the same results?
30
“doesn’t a “passport” achieve the same results?”
that would be coercion.
10
…and coercion is not permitted at common law or under 2.1.3 of the Australian Immunisation Handbook.
00
But EMERGENCY!!!
Oh well … ok in that case you can go ahead with mandatory vaccinations just this once.

Just don’t take heparin since that was killing the early cases of clotting response

A very good video presentation by Chris Martenson on the Delta variant of COVID-19 and how its spread is being scaremongered by not considering the death rate plus what makes it more infectious and why this allows it to evade the spike protein “vaccines”. Also a revisit of India and how it has reduced cases and deaths with a (rhetorical) question of how.

An interesting question even given the source
“Interesting article in The Guardian regarding seasonality and epidemic equilibrium. Berenson is of the opinion that the vaccines work for 3-4 months . And…
Something really odd is going on: In Europe we are seeing surges at many places where most of the population has already been vaccinated. At the same time, the 15 least vaccinated countries don‘t seem to face any problem. (long twitter thread, follow it down)”

UK now up to 50k+ covid cases a day just in time for freedom Monday!
https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/cases
Latest wave is every bit as steep as last, hospital admissions seem to be about 1/6th for the same number of cases though (testing may be picking up a greater proportion of cases though as free universal rapid testing was introduced since the last wave).

Local Police in Cahoots with the Corvid breaches.
I was refused entry to a local bar, I was in distress breathless. The reason they were already over subscribed for the number of people, yet that is Four people who entered after me were let in.
I rang the police who will go check out the situation some time later when he has time!
