Not only is the male fairywren one of Australia’s showiest birds, it is also one of the most promiscuous in the world, with infidelity rates that would put Hollywood to shame.

In other words a total …

You earn the right to be cancelled by feminists for promoting toxic masculinity and suppressing women with your overt appreciation of just the male of the species.

Actually, voting for a favourite bird on the basis of the male being “superb” (and promiscuous) could be the subject of a faked social science study paper about rape culture, used to highlight peer review failures.

Oh, I apologise. Of course, you may have voted for the female who is also promiscuous. As a strong non make-up wearing feminist symbol who plays the dating game just as well as the showy male.

          .

Sorry. Spent too much time on The Guardian having clicked on the voting results.

James, interesting article. Trouble is you have to get to know these people quite well before you realise what they’re about as they’re often clever enough to mask the signs. So quite a lot of damage can be done before we wise up, as Melburnians now know. I remember reading some time ago about the numbers of psychopaths at the top of organisations, not at all necessarily because of competence, quite the contrary mostly, but because of their manipulation and intimidation. And of course George Soros is involved with his insidious Open Society Foundations, along with nefarious Big Tech, but in addition, among ‘NGO’s and Think Tanks’ on ISD’s partners page is the dubious Brookings Institute, as well as Chatham House, and the UK’s RUSI – all NGO’s with the same mission statements; to influence public debate, and counter ‘extreme dialogue’, ‘hate speech’, ‘far-right extremism’ etc – all euphemisms for anticipated dissent.

Of course, trying to find any sort of definition of ‘hate speech’ or ‘extreme dialogue’ on their websites is a fruitless task, as again, the language is deliberately vague so it may be applied when needed.

The SCN riot squad never seem to be around when far-left extremism is on the loose though, such as the ongoing rioting.

I’m sure a deep-dive into some of these NGOs would connect Bill & Melinda Gates and the Rockefeller Foundations everywhere. What we’re seeing is the globalists’ parallel governance network and structure at work, undermining the nation state, as they have been doing for a very long time, and as always, on the sly.

So as Australia recently discovered, the curfews and lock-downs in Victoria are not based on the Chief Health Officer’s advice, but rather Premier Andrews put them in place of his own accord.

Andrews has always been very interested in top-down authoritarian style governance – in 2016 Premier Andrews toured the New York Police Department’s ‘Real Time Crime Center‘ surveillance facility during a visit to the United States, tweeting that soon Victoria will have ‘one of our own’.

In 2017 Victoria Police were set to bring in the twenty-four hour system to Australia, with a new $15 million Monitoring and Assessment Centre, modelled on the New York center. In addition to all of this, Andrews allocated almost $600 million AUD as part of a ‘public safety package’ in the 2016-17 budget. This was in addition to the $2 billion already spent on 3,200 new police officers.

      What was Andrews preparing for?

Andrews spent $2.6 Billion of tax-payer’s money on stocking up on surveillance, riot equipment, and 3,200 extra police, then once in place he handed Victoria over to the globalists.

part of this is in Dans speech for the Strong Cities Network saying through Victoria he has opened the gate to Australia for the Chinese

in the protest live reports you can hear protesters complaining about the international police
there was a predator insignia on some of the Black shirts with the Vic police but there are Black shirts who do not display Australian or Victorian logos, just Velcro police badges on their backs
their is a Victorian company as well that may be these guys hired by Dan with our money but being part of this scheme is privatised police, his private army

        https://brandnewtube.com/watch/australian-police-or-predator-security-company_TMcedzHov6al7H8.html

another thing that is happening is that before covid the Chinese were buying property all over the place paying well over the worth of house prices in Victoria, since covid Melbourne is emptying out, it is a known fact that people from Melbourne are leaving in droves, if not interstate when they can to regional, l know my area has been flooded with people getting out of Melbourne, our houses are selling without being seen, a couple of hundred k over what l would consider a fair price and one l know of was listed a week ago at 9am sold at 12 noon without seeing the property and about 300k over what it would have sold at at the start of the year, a two bedroom fibro cement holiday house for $720k, unbelievable, but what l have been told by a very trusted friend is that the Chinese are buying up big in Melbourne like its a plan to make room for them, obviously its speculation but in these times l would believe anything involving Dan

Crunch time is fast approaching. Around the world there are similar if not identical deadlines at or around October 15 when workers will be refused entry to their workplace unless they are vaccinated. Some critical areas, such as hospital wards, might have to be shut down as too many refuse to get vaccinated. Something is going to give and it doesn’t appear to be the unvaccinated. The timing itself is very interesting. Coincidence? Not likely.

Yes. The first crunch will be whether governments and employers can “persuade” people to join the happy clappers. The second crunch will be when the happy clappers realize the “vaccines” aren’t worthy of that name.

There are an awful lot of people who have stuck their necks out an awfully long way. I suspect that many have not done any sort of risk analysis of what happens if they are wrong.

Not condoning this sort of action but it’s not surprising:
Big VICTORY! V⍺ccine opposers in a Guatemalan village captured two medical teams that arrived with C0VID-19 v⍺ccines. The wheels were lowered to cars, the exit road was blocked, refrigerators with v⍺ccines were destroyed, and doctors were locked up and threatened to burn.

Then again after watching this I do wonder how I could restrain myself from kicking this guy’s head in….
Fauci Makes SCARY Declaration To Canadians: ‘It’s Time To Give Up Your Individual Right of Making Your Own Decisions’

Voxday gets to the point and throws no punches:

That hissing sound you hear is the West’s ownership of the rhetorical high ground deflating like a balloon with a hole snipped out of it. A cartoonishly dystopian future when scientists, doctors, and pharmacists are hunted down like rabid dogs by vengeful victims and angry parents suddenly appears to considerably more probable than even a pessimist would have ever imagined just one year ago.

      • #

Yes it is and I sincerely hope it doesn’t eventuate but I suspect it could. Then again if it does I suspect governments will clamp down even harder with far more draconian powers, and if necessary with force, such as martial law. Alternatively, if people remain calm and happy, governments will continue to tighten the screws on us simply because they are now drunk with power, and they are convinced they know best, and woe betide anyone who says otherwise. It just goes to show how bad things will become either way before they turn around. Lots more pain to come no matter how one looks at it, sadly.

People like him are so evil no matter what he says he will always sound good to himself (and others of like mind) no matter how authoritarian he sounds. The same can be said to most other leaders but they are at different levels of evil and authoritarianism. PM Morrison has been progressing a lot in those respects over the past couple of years. He’s rapidly catching up with the worst of the lot. Still, he might wake up and repent, but that is only possible under the circumstances if he resigns from politics.

    My TV Told Me So

    I’m a propaganda meat-puppet doing what I’m told,
I’m scared of being in the wrong and not very bold.
When my television tells me that the seas are rising fast,
I take it for the truth and verily I am aghast
To know the trouble’s all my fault, I must give up my car,
I must give up most everything – we’re evil, yes we are.

And when my TV Lordship says I must roll up my sleeve
An endless course of Covid vaccinations to receive,
I never for a moment question whether this should be,
Like images of rising seas the truth’s on my TV:
I see the wards are overflowing, death is everywhere,
Covid rules the world, although the flu’s no longer there.

Some people who I know tell me my television’s wrong,
I call these folks conspiracy theorists – they call me a nong.
But my family and friends all swear the TV tells the truth,
Why ever would it lie to us, I ask you now, but strewth,
Imagine if the TV really has its own agenda?
But the thought alone would make me a conspiracy offender.

TedM posted this link on Thursday Open Thread and having downloaded and watched all sixty-five minutes of it https://rumble.com/vnbv86-winning-the-war-against-therapeutic-nihilism-and-trusted-treatments-vs-unte.html I agree that it is well worth the time.

McCullough has assembled all the key data in a single address. I was tempted to write that this should be compulsory viewing for out chief health officers and then remembered it is about destroying our health; the pandemic is a calculated attack upon healthy people through the complementary agencies of mandating toxic inoculations and continually lengthening periods of house arrest.

I’m at a loss to understand who the beneficiaries of this unprecedented outrage can be.

I had to laugh at the media personalities talking among each other on Fox News today. They were racking their brains trying to explain why Americans hate Biden so much, with crowds at football games and car races chanting loudly in unison: “F$%# U Biden.” They had a bunch of 1/2 correct answers, such as gasoline prices going up by 100% in 6 months and the Afghanistan fiasco. But no one dared give the real answer that is so obvious.

Americans hate Biden because they didn’t vote for him.

          Hanrahan

Ya gotta luv the “Let’s go Brandon” BS explanation.

But while I find amusement in the OTHER chant it is also ominous. The US has the greatest attack of buyers’ remorse in history, especially if the majority don’t believe they were buyers in the first place. But in parliamentary democracies, which the Yanks deride, there is always a remedy. Sometimes it is messy such as our Refusal Of Supply for Whitlam, or repetitive in the Russ/Gillard/Rudd/Abbott/Turnbull/ScoMo era. But with the exception of Abbott who was dethroned by media, the changes were generally accepted as needed.

What remedy is constitutionally available in America for this dilemma? None! Impeach Biden, get Heels-Up, impeach her and you get the most geriatric of all, Nancy.

Terrible GDP and financial figures for the US are about to be announced but what can citizens do apart from shake their head? Do you think they are in the mood to wait over three years for constitutional change? I will listen to our American friends for that answer, I don’t know.

But back to the start: These chants are coming from colleges, not bastions of conservatism or patience. Be scared Joe, very scared. There may be an unconstitutional fix coming your way.

That and the fact that Trump still draws in huge crowds while Biden barely manages to get anything of significance. It and all the other evidence certainly shows the election was stolen from Trump. But that’s all water under the bridge now as it’s too late to rectify the situation under the Constitution, unless I’m mistaken. I’m pretty sure even Trump came to that conclusion some time ago. The next elections are what he is focusing on right now. It could be a trigger though of a civil war if fowl play is repeated. Once is enough but twice? I doubt very much a large group of already angry Americans would put up with a repeat. Of course that assumes Trump runs for POTUS again, either as a Republican or an independent. It would be very interesting if he did run as an independent and he won. It’s not the first time that has happened but it is rare. I’m almost certain he would win, barring of course fowl play but if that happens then as I said the whole place could go up in smoke.

Peter, I luv “wot if” games and I have too much time to play them.

Wot if Trump continued as King-maker challenging at preselection the haters, and, standing for a house seat himself had the numbers to depose the Turtle as speaker. [I heard once he could be elected speaker even if he didn’t win a seat, but that’s still not in my thinking] The first order of business would be impeachment of Biden. How poetic!

If Trump then endorsed Ron DeSantis for President it would be a dem wipeout. Being a realist [sometimes] I think TDS could still cost Trump.

    From today’s The Australian

These meandering Covid road maps lead to a dead end

    Nyunggai Warren Mundine

There’s a saying: if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Some of us were shocked when Australian governments copied communist China imposing Covid-19 lockdowns. Some thought this was a too single-minded focus on health over the economy, jobs, education, social interaction, family relationships and civil rights.

People tolerated it for various reasons. I’m past the point of tolerating it any more. After 20 months, all I see are desperate, tired people with frayed emotions, hanging on because they think it’s nearly over. So it was incredibly disappointing during the past few months to see state governments renege on allowing citizens a full, normal life.

The so-called national plan signed off by all states and territories dangled rewards for 80 per cent of adults fully vaccinated. The rewards were illusory. Queensland and Western Australia threw the national plan out the window. And NSW and Victoria made their own, more restrictive, road maps.

Under NSW’s original road map, substantial restrictions remained even after NSW reached 80 per cent, including limitations on household visitors and other gatherings; masks indoors; businesses subject to density restrictions; stadiums restricted to 5000 people; schools not fully open until November 1; funerals, weddings and churches subject to density restrictions. If one thing epitomises the cruelty of lockdowns, it’s grieving via streaming.

These restrictions would not lift until December 1, with some density restrictions continuing indefinitely.

On Thursday, new NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet announced an earlier easing of some of these restrictions, including increased caps on visitors and other gatherings, scrapping masks in offices, partial opening of nightclubs and schools fully open by October 25. But restrictions will still continue until December 1.

Victoria remains under an iron fist. It will reach 80 per cent later and, after it does, will maintain even more restrictions than NSW’s original plan. Restrictions will continue until 80 per cent of people aged over 12 are vaccinated, likely Christmas Day. Then households can have 30 visitors.

Businesses in both states must deploy staff as bouncers to keep out unvaccinated customers (in NSW until December 1, in Victoria indefinitely). Health bureaucrats may think this will increase vaccine rates. But spare a thought for small businesses, which already have borne most of the pain and cost of lockdown, now also deputised as Covid police.

We’ve no idea when Australians will be allowed to travel freely within our country.

It’s only a matter of time before Covid gets into the non-Covid affected states, prompting cycles of endless lockdowns and false promises. Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has threatened to keep borders shut until the federal government gives her state more money. This is the Premier who banned dancing and mingling at school formals while permitting 40,000 people, leaping and shouting, at the football.

Australians are like kids on a long car ride repeatedly asking when they’ll get there, with Mum fibbing it will be soon to tide them over until the next stop. I’m tired of being treated like a child; tired of rule by highly paid bureaucrats and their complex, contradictory and sometimes absurd edicts.

How many of them have run a business or created a job? They seem to have no idea how hard it is to operate with constraints on income while trying to pay wages, rent and the rest.

Health bureaucrats clearly don’t care about jobs or businesses or the economy, or reuniting families, or mourners being able to properly grieve, or children’s education, or civil liberties. They don’t even care about health.

They only care about one disease: Covid-19. Scroll through the NSW or Victorian health department’s social media accounts and see how many posts are about anything else. What are they doing about other public health priorities? What are they doing about the health problems created by their own lockdowns, such as the deterioration of youth mental health and the significant decline in cancer screenings?

Thursday’s announcement of earlier easing of restrictions in NSW was welcome. But it’s not enough. Why must NSW wait another five to six weeks after reaching 80 per cent for the return of freedoms and businesses operating near capacity? Why must density restrictions continue?

How will small businesses cope with staff forced into isolation if a Covid case walks through the door?

Mandatory isolation triggered by Britain’s contact-tracing app, dubbed the “pingdemic”, wreaked such havoc the UK largely abandoned isolation rules.

And who will rein in the lockdown-addicted bureaucrats so we don’t have to go through this again?

If Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews’ “go hard, go early” lockdown proved anything, it’s that lockdowns don’t work. Victoria’s latest outbreak soared higher and faster than NSW starting from the same point. Yet NSW’s chief health officer has refused to rule out lockdowns after reaching 80 per cent. Why is it up to her?

Lockdown is the hammer. Covid is the nail. And health bureaucrats see nothing else.

I think Perrottet understands this. Let’s hope he has the courage to lead the state out of this wilderness, not follow the bureaucrats deeper into the mire.

    From the Comments

    Andrew

Thank you Warren. In Western Australia the Aboriginal councils that jointly control access to the remote Canning Stock Route have inexplicably closed it to all travellers citing Covid as the reason. Travelling down the Canning would be one of the most isolating experiences one could possibly do. Keeping covid out of the communities is not an excuse as those community members are still travelling across the continent for cultural reasons. Whilst I don’t question the right of Aboriginal people to close their lands to visitors, I question the reasoning. Would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this.

If the Communist-style lockdown we copied is a big factor in our low Covid death toll, I want someone to explain to me why Sweden which did not lock down, mask or distance, is not on the very top of the tables for deaths per 100k rather than down around number 40.

Surely doing nothing should have seen the nation posting the highest death numbers on the planet.

      180

      • #

Sorry this reply is so late. The lessons don’t translate from there to the rest of the world.

In Sweden, an extraordinary 50% of the population live in single person households. They are living in a form of restriction permanently, unlike cities with high density, crowded homes, some — like in Italy — that span generations. Imagine how much harder it is to stop a virus spreading in Italy or London?

If we look at mobility stats they were restricting their movements. Arguably, that’s great, because it was voluntary, but it also means fear was keeping people at home, away from shops and resturants. It’s not like a miracle cure for business and that kind of half lockdown goes on for months, whereas a short fast complete one (WA) lasts a few days. (Albeit, that which worked in 2020, doesn’t seem to be as effective against the Delta strain.)

Sweden also fortify Vit D in foods. So Sweden should have had the lowest death toll in the West, but instead they did as badly as most other western nations, which is not success.

I hear they kept their hospital ICU units from being overwhelmed by not even admitting people over 80.

In medical science, if we don’t account for twenty variables, we don’t know what we’re doing.

    Meanwhile in Canada..

Circling back to the restrictions for federal workers and contractors, the unvaccinated won’t even be permitted to work from home. Unvaccinated employees will be barred from going to work, either in person or remotely, and they will be put on administrative leave and denied pay, according to the CBC.

A senior official told the CBC that unvaxxed employees wouldn’t even qualify for employment insurance benefits.

On rocketing prices, you can forget hockey sticks, this is panic buying on a National scale. Gas prices have increased x10 in a year but doubled in a week!

A LNG freighter load in transit has doubled in value from $US120M last week to $US225m this week! Local gas prices in Australia look like quadrupling. And thermal futures for Newcastle thermal coal are $US270 a tonne. Those load ruined at dock in China were only $75 a tonne.

    From The Australian this morning..

“Asia’s energy importers are hurting more than most. Today, traded coal prices into north east Asia are soaring as stockpiles dwindle and supply tightens and this is even before the mercury starts to fall”

“from India to South Korea, the spectre of electricity blackouts looms as buyers scramble to secure supplies

So it is not just panic buying of petrol in the UK. This is world wide. No one believes in Global Warming when you run out of carbon fuels because it is colder and they know it.

And id*ots who blew up working coal power stations and banned fracking and gas exploration, like Victoria’s Daniel Andrews will find that electricity prices do not go up only twenty percent as he promised. Energy poverty is our immediate future.

Diesel submarines were always ridiculous and taxpayer subsidized electric cars for the rich. But how can you make metals like aluminum and steel and nitrogen fertilizers when the cost of the energy far exceeds the price of the metal. The UK is now reeling from their anti CO2 policies as they cannot preserve food. Fertilizer prices will now rocket too.

How did we get to the point where Australia with such reserves of coal will be energy impoverished and dependent on energy imports? And the wind, when it blows and the sun, when it shines.

Someone one described aluminium as “coagulated electricity” and Korea Zinc’s refinery installed 1 mill solar panels to defray electricity costs a couple of years back. [The last few days have been cloudless :)]

Again, reading about China’s power crisis it quoted China’s electricity had been 4c/kWh before playing ducks and drakes with coal. This cheap power enabled them to produce cheap solar panels – no cheap power no cheap cells so the rooftop solar business might die.

A cargo ship of LNG costs $281m. It was just $10m in 2020.

Soaring international gas prices have triggered a near 30-fold spike in the value of a single spot cargo ship of LNG to more than $US205 million ($281.8 million) in a price surge that delivers a windfall to gas producers but threatens to derail the global economic recovery.

Woodside Petroleum, a beneficiary of soaring prices for liquefied natural gas, voiced worries about fall-out from the “extreme” prices as Asian tariffs took yet another leap higher.

The 40 per cent surge in Asian benchmark LNG prices to more than $US56 per million British thermal units, while short lived, has sent shockwaves through the global gas market, given the cold Northern Hemisphere winter has yet to kick in.

At that one-off price, a typical cargo of 70,000 tonnes of LNG costs about $US205 million, up from less than $US7.3 million in June last year, when Australian cargoes of LNG were sold at less than $US2/MMBTU and dozens of shipments were anchored in place around the world or were going around in circles amid a dearth of buyers. It makes gas several times more expensive than crude oil at roughly $US320 per barrel, Reuters calculated.

The theoretical cargo value compares with a current value of a Capesize cargo of 170,000 tonnes of iron ore of about $US20 million at current iron ore prices of $US117 per tonne. That is down from about $US40 million at the iron ore price peak in May.

The crisis has added heat to the debate about the pace of the transition to low-carbon energy and exposed the risks inherent in the massive transformation that needs to take place in energy supply to reach net zero carbon goals.

Curious about royalties which usually increase with price I found this:

World champions in LNG: Great news for the economy, you might think, with those rivers of resource royalties flowing in to government coffers.

The reality, though, is vastly different.

In 2017-18, LNG companies in Australia had revenue totalling $29.7 billion, yet paid just $1.07 billion in royalties levied under the petroleum resource rent tax (PRRT).

In 2016-17, from revenue of $22.7 billion, they paid only $970 million in PRRT.

By comparison, Qatar, a close second behind Australia in production, received a staggering $26 billion in royalties.

        https://thenewdaily.com.au/finance/finance-news/2019/07/17/lng-industry-booming-no-royalties/

It is a bit disingenuous to only speak of “revenue”. I don’t know much about costs but I think I read that the liquefaction trains are powered by their own gas so costs wouldn’t be high.

The gas is the fuel, refrigerant and the end product, it also fuels the tanker ship transporting it as they bleed off a little gas to keep it a refrigerated liquid and this gas fuels the engines.

Probably 1.5 to 2bn to build the LPG plant, excluding wharf facilities, more than 100k/day to run it. Not a cheap venture.

The costs to build a train were well over a bill when I was trading shares, obvious much more now.

Joe Sixpack who has never invested in much other than his house doesn’t understand that bankers are not lining up to lend that money. that the gas company has to have taje off agreements signed in blood for the gas.

Well waddayaknow, those who commit get 20 year contracts at favourable rates. A bit late for states to demand a slice of the action after the train is built and everyone else has taken the commercial risk.

If you want the gas, contract for it as the Japanese did.

That said, royalties are due after any honeymoon agreed upon.

Evidence clear’ booster needed for immunocompromised

Chief Medical Officer Paul Kelly says that the “evidence is now clear” that a third booster shot of a Covid-19 vaccine was required to protect members of the population with an immune deficiency.

“So the announcement today is about the start of this program, which starts from today, certainly from this week, in relation to people, its a very specific group of the population, with an issue with their immune system,” he said.

“We know that vaccines work, by prompting the immune system to produce antibodies against Covid, that’s the same for all vaccines that’s how they work.

“And unfortunately some people have immune systems that don’t work as well as the general population, those vaccine may not lead to that protection.

“The evidence is now clear that the people in those categories of immune-compromised should receive a third dose that should happen at a period after the second dose.”

Health Minister Greg Hunt said about 500,000 Australians are considered severely immunocompromised and would be eligible for the booster shot.

He said Australia’s immunisation panel would provide advice about booster shots for the general population by the end of the month.

New strain of Delta found in Sydney

A new strain of the Delta variant has been discovered in NSW after eight cases were identified in Sydney, Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant has revealed.

“We’ve been having a program throughout this response to the pandemic around genome sequencing,” Dr Chant said.

“Also, we’ve been having a program throughout this response to the pandemic around genome sequencing, and those investigations have identified a strain of Delta which is a different genome sequencing to the current strain circulating in Sydney.

“There’s no indication that this new strain presents any differences regarding transmission or vaccine effectiveness or severity.”

Dr Chant said so far seven members of one household and one additional case had been identified with the new strain.

“We’re undertaking investigations into the source and how the transmission occurred, and we’ll update you when any information is available,” she said.

      ATAGI recommends boosters for vulnerable

The federal vaccine advisory body has advised Covid-19 booster shots be made available to vulnerable community members, as an extra layer of protection to bolster their immunity against the virus.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation announced that it was recommending a third dose, preferably of an mRNA vaccine, for those who are immunocompromised to “maximise the level of immune response”.

“ATAGI recommends a 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine as part of the primary course in individuals who are severely immunocompromised,” the ATAGI said.

“This is to address the risk of suboptimal or non-response to the standard 2 dose schedule.

“The 3rd dose is intended to maximise the level of immune response to as close as possible to the general population.”

Vic police examine footage of maskless Andrews

Victoria Police are assessing footage of Premier Daniel Andrews not wearing a mask on the grounds of parliament.

A spokeswoman said police would not provide further comment on the video as the incident was being reviewed by investigators.

“Victoria Police are currently assessing a video circulating on social media of Premier Daniel Andrews walking across a carpark in Melbourne without a mask on, 7 October,” she said.

“As the incident is being reviewed by investigators, we will not be providing further comment at this stage.”

While Victoria Police say the incident occurred on Thursday, The Australian took a photo of Mr Andrews walking towards a media pack waiting at the doors of parliament on Wednesday.

Mr Andrews is not wearing a mask and is wearing the same tie as in the video.

The video was posted on Twitter by Channel 7, who said it was taken on Thursday. It appears Mr Andrews did not wear a mask on both days as he approached parliament.

The Australian has approached Mr Andrews for comment.

Perrottet appoints Coutts-Trotter to head NSW public service

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has moved to put his stamp on the bureaucracy, appointing Communities and Justice secretary Michael Coutts-Trotter as the secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC).

His appointment means Jim Betts will not take the DPC secretary role, after being appointed by former Premier Gladys Berejiklian. Mr Betts was in transition from the Planning department after Tim Reardon announced his he was leaving the DPC for the private sector.

“I got fired.” Mr Betts told his staff in an overnight message to staff.

“Our new Premier has decided to terminate my contract. I have no complaint about this; secretaries are appointed by and serve at the discretion of the Premier.”

“What I won’t do is conceal the reality of my termination behind weasel words.”

Mr Betts had been appointed to the DPC job after heading the planning department and had been the focus of criticism from NSW MP and former federal ALP leader Mark Latham.

“One of the things that surprised me since coming into the NSW Parliament 2½ years ago is the woke virtue-signalling and self-indulgent identity politics that defines the culture of the NSW public sector,” Mr Latham wrote in the Spectator.

“There isn’t an LGBTIQ staff committee, harmony council, reconciliation talkfest, de-gendered language guide, Bruce Pascoe book club or Indigenous urban design fantasy that Betts hasn’t embraced.”

Mr Coutts-Trotter is married to federal ALP shadow minister Tanya Plibersek.

Mr Coutts-Trotter has spoken openly about his conviction and three-year jail term as a teenager for a h@roin importation offence in 1986.

“We all make mistakes in life, mine was far more significant than a mistake anyone here will ever make. But you can’t carry it around like a ball and chain forever,” Coutts-Trotter said after being appointed to lead the education department.

“And that’s true of me. Redemption is possible, a second chance is possible.”

Mr Perrottet has worked with Mr Coutts-Trotter over several years and has been impressed by his dealings with the Community and Justice leader.

Case numbers in any location that has 80% or more of the population fully vaccinated have Covid cases in steep decline or zero acquired in the community. So the statement is easily proven false.

NSW alone provides ample evidence of the effectiveness of vaccines:

You would need to include their age, general frailty, and whether they had significant co-morbidities, before you can draw any conclusions. Besides, they are tiny numbers.

Coronavirus: Unvaccinated politicians and staffers set to banned from Victorian parliament

The Victorian government is moving to prevent unvaccinated MPs and parliamentary staff from entering or voting in parliament, in a national first for Australia.

The notice of motion – distributed to upper house MPs late Thursday night – would see parliamentarians barred from entering the chamber and their security access passes revoked if by October 15 they fail to show proof of their first dose or of an appointment within a week.

Politicians and staffers will have to be fully vaccinated by November 26.

Liberal Democrats upper house members David Limbrick and Tim Quilty have already flagged they will oppose the motion and will refuse to hand over their medical records, despite both being fully vaccinated.

We think this a step too far, this is basically denying elected members of parliament the ability to represent people based on their medical status,” he said.

Mr Limbrick said the notice of motion could be the first ever to prohibit members from parliament based on their medical status.

The Australian approached Victorian Attorney-General Jaclyn Symes for comment.

The move comes after the state government last week mandated vaccines for all authorised workers.

From October 15, unvaccinated essential workers will be forbidden from working onsite unless they had received their first shot and are required to be double-dosed by November 26.

Authorised workers carry permits allowing them to leave their homes in lockdown and operate in a wide range of industries including supermarkets and food, farmers, healthcare, transport, media, police and emergency services, faith leaders and retail workers operating click-and-collect services.

Will someone please explain to Daniel Andrews he can’t sack a judge who isn’t double-jabbed

        Caroline Di Russo

In the case of Victoria, what possible danger do many of those working in the above-mentioned fields pose to vulnerable groups? Very little, if any. It’s a blunt-force policy which is unlikely to materially downgrade the level of public risk. In fact, overkill and coercion are likely to put people offside and cause them to dig in their heels. It’s a good thing we don’t have a labour shortage and those people can be stood down and replaced with new staff.

        Oh, wait…

Anyway, the critical point is that vaccination should not be mandated wholesale simply to increase the overall vaccination rate. It should be a precision instrument to protect the vulnerable. Andrews says that the broader mandate for the vaccine is required so that in the event of a spike in COVID-19 cases, Victorian hospitals are not overwhelmed. Actually, instead of imposing this requirement on citizens, the Victorian government could’ve just done its job and spent the last 18 months getting the hospitals ready so that they could handle an outbreak.

        Four thousand ICU beds, anyone?

While Daniel Andrews might think this is some policy stroke of genius which will save him from his latest COVID-19 related pickle, this public health order, followed by his usual belittling and gaslighting commentary, might not be enough to get him over the line.

Firstly, there is this little peculiarity of our parliamentary democracy called the separation of powers. As the name suggests, the executive, the legislature and the judiciary operate separately, and as such, the executive tail can’t wag the judicial dog. Insofar as this relates to this latest policy brain fart, it means the Andrews government cannot interfere with the judiciary; it can’t fire judges or their staff or prevent them from undertaking their function. He may also want to flick through Chapter III of the federal Constitution before picking a fight that would likely wind up in the High Court.

Similarly, query the extent to which state government laws can mandate the working conditions for a federal member of parliament or a federal public servant. This rub has wound up in the courts a few times and I don’t think Andrew’s going to like where the precedent resides.

Ultimately, good public policy means using the smallest possible tool to create the best possible public outcome. This, like much of Andrews’ other policy frolics, is a sledgehammer which produces little public benefit.

And so, like much of the last 18 months, Victoria continues to represent the worst that big government has to offer.

I can’t find this on a government website but in Afdanistan have you heard that workers who are sacked from their jobs for refusing to take the vaccine will receive payments from the government (i.e. taxpayer)?

I think it’s fair enough. Nobody should be subject to medical treatment against their will and if Government laws cause someone to be sacked because they don’t recognise that principle, then they are entitled to compensation.

I look forward to a change in the conversation. The question isn’t whether you have been injected or not. The question is whether you are infected or not.

And with the injections not guaranteeing freedom from infection, it is a foolish person indeed who asks about injection rather than infection.

The ACT has recorded 40 new local coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour reporting period, bringing the national capital’s total outbreak to 1147.

ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr confirmed 16 Canberrans were now in hospital with Covid-19, including six people in the intensive care unit.

Two of the hospitalisations are babies who contracted the virus while in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Canberra Hospital.

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith confirmed no additional babies had tested positive, but five infants were currently in quarantine after being identified as close contacts.

“This is an incredibly challenging and stressful situation for their parents and carers will be able to visit these infants after they return a negative test on day five,” Ms Stephen-Smith said.

The two babies who are currently infected with the virus have now been moved to a special paediatric Covid-19 ward.

A fully-vaccinated Canberra hospital worker who tested positive was confirmed to have cared for the first baby who began developed symptoms on Tuesday.

Unfortunately Australia’s semi-compulsory (and compulsory for some) vaxx roll out coincides with increased sun and therefore increased Vitamin D (therefore lower susceptibility to covid although government and the medical establishment refuse to recognise that scientific fact), more time outdoors despite the world’s most totalitarian lockup policies (hence in a lower transmission environment than indoors) and the possibility of increasing herd immunity due to asymptomatic infections.

The likely decline in covid infection will be falsely attributed to lockups working and the vaxx.

Most of those who die of COVID-19 have pre-existing (underlying) conditions, including hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and cardiovascular disease. According to March data from the United States, 89% of those hospitalised had preexisting conditions. The Italian Istituto Superiore di Sanità reported that out of 8.8% of deaths where medical charts were available, 96.1% of people had at least one comorbidity with the average person having 3.4 diseases. According to this report the most common comorbidities are hypertension (66% of deaths), type 2 diabetes (29.8% of deaths), Ischemic Heart Disease (27.6% of deaths), atrial fibrillation (23.1% of deaths) and chronic renal failure (20.2% of deaths).

For those interested, the following case is currently testing vaccine mandates:

Henry & Ors v Bradley Ronald Hazzard 2021/00252587 in the Supreme Court of NSW.

    https://www.gofundme.com/f/no-jab-no-job-no-way?viewupdates=1&rcid=r01-163357602207-935083387294496c&utm_medium=email&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_email%2B1137-update-supporters-v5b

G&B Lawyers of Haymarket Sydney are crowd funding this case. In a recent summary (after providing relevant argument) , they conclude that:

“The Australian Constitution explicitly prohibits any form of legal compulsion upon the medical profession to carry out any form of medication, including vaccination. In fact, no Government, either Federal or State, can impose compulsory vaccination in this country, or prevent medical practitioners from remaining entirely free to choose whether or not to provide certain medical services, including vaccination. As Justice Webb emphasised: “If Parliament cannot lawfully do this directly by legal means it cannot lawfully do it indirectly by creating a situation, as distinct from merely taking advantage of one, in which the individual is left no real choice but compliance”. The situation here is the National Cabinet and its decision. Applying Justice Webb’s analysis, the Commonwealth Government cannot implement any mandatory vaccination scheme indirectly by creating a situation, i.e. establishing a National Cabinet and using that to direct the States to implement the Commonwealth’s demands, in which the individual person is left with no real choice but compliance (fear of losing their job, their livelihood, their career).

This means that the State and Commonwealth Governments are unable to introduce any laws that compel individuals to have a flu shot or any mandatory COVID-19 vaccination. Any laws that try to do that are unlawful and should be struck out.

It also means that the State and Commonwealth Governments are unable to enforce any laws that purport to say that a person is unable to be employed or work in a particular industry or refrain from entering into a particular premises for failing to have a flu shot or COVID-19 vaccination.”

    170

    • #
      Forrest Gardener

If successful this would presumably nullify any compulsory childhood vaccination programs as well.

And I’m scratching my head a little at why they are arguing commonwealth powers in a state court. I especially wonder when they say “no government, either Federal or State” because the states have entirely separate constitutions. In plain language the states can do what they like unless it conflicts with a commonwealth law.

Then again constitutional law is littered with interpretations which say black is white.

In the past few months up here in Townsville we have had two separate cases of COVID infected persons from out of State active in the community. Both times we have only had to mask up. My question is, how is it that there were no further community infections considering these individuals were moving about for days before becoming known. Any ideas?

My sympathies to all who are still suffering through lockdowns. We have been relatively unaffected up here by them. My biggest frustration is not being able to see my family in Vic. Others have it much worse. Stay strong.

But wait! TilbaTilba just told me only the unvaxed give rise to new variants… or is this true?

“Immune responses induced by contemporary vaccines are, therefore, prone to immune escape. Natural selection of immune escape variants is even more likely to occur when individuals exerting suboptimal immune pressure have a high chance of becoming exposed to circulating virus. Provided widespread immune selection pressure, these immune escape variants will even be able to adapt to the rising immune status of the vaccinated population. This already explains why classical vaccines fail to prevent variants from arising and further evolving when mass vaccination campaigns are conducted in populations that are continuously exposed to the circulating virus, a situation which typically occurs during a pandemic. “

Atmospheric blocking is a huge problem for wind power generators.

‘Calm conditions has meant wind power over the last few weeks has only made up about 7% of the U.K.’s electricity generation. This is compared to 18% for the whole of the months of August and May and 26% in February. This has meant more electricity has to be generated using gas-fired power stations to fill the gap and, also to a lesser extent, from coal-fired power stations too.’ (Nick Finnis)

I GET YOUR MESSAGES AND UNDERSTAND YOUR FEARS—BECAUSE I’M LIVING THEM TOO

There is a reason for my passion about this issue. My wife took the jab. My partners in our organisation took the jab. Staff—most of them—took the jab. And all who did have had serious reactions, and one died.

Intense joint pain, emotions, anger, complete lack of energy, headaches—some even had sores and blotches on their skin—this experimental gene therapy has completely changed their lives for the worse.

As a doctor, my wife felt she did not have a choice—an issue on which we disagreed greatly—and now she regrets her decision, as most do.

She hired a new nurse recently who did not appear for her first day of work, so she called her cellphone. A man answered, so my wife asked if he knew when she would be coming to work.

The man began crying and shouted, “Never!”

Shocked, my wife asked him, “Why?”

“Because I buried her last week two days after she got that damn vaccine!”

While I don’t know of a single person who died from Covid, I know of many who have been debilitated or worse by the ‘cure’.

His conclusion: “What is happening right now is not a sincere fight against “fake news”. Rather, it gives the impression that any information, evidence or discussions that are contrary to the official narrative are being suppressed.” Millions of times, Skambraks complains, content on Corona topics is now deleted: “Facebook and Co. are private companies and can therefore decide what is published on their platforms. But are they also allowed to control the discourse? Public service broadcasting could strike an important balance by ensuring an open exchange of views. But unfortunately no indication!”

Imagine if others were that honest, sincere and truthful. Almost all news services would cease, which would be a good thing as so much of it is just BS. The only show that would left running would be ones like Outsiders and RT News.
