Handy!: A group at Johns Hopkins checked 295 people who had caught Covid before (and tested positive). Amazingly, all but two of them still had antibodies and there was “no indication” that the antibodies were declining.
Natural immunity doesn’t always work this well. There are plenty of diseases where protection wanes after six months, like RSV, or Norovirus, and many common cold coronaviruses.

Protection against the virus that causes COVID-19 among the recovered was detected by researchers at 20 months post-infection, adding to the body of evidence that such protection, known as natural immunity, is long-lasting.
Researchers found antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor-binding domain (RBD) in 99 percent of study participants who tested positive for COVID-19, with some having had the illness as long as 20 months prior.
“The major takeaway is that natural immunity … is strong and durable,” [Dr Dorry] Segev told The Epoch Times in an email.
Dr. Dorry Segev, the director of the Epidemiology Research Group in Organ Transplantation at Johns Hopkins University.
There were three groups involved in the study. Of the 295 people who “thought they had had Covid” about half of them actually had. And of 246 who thought they “had never had Covid” 10% appear to have had an asymptomatic infection.
There have been many anecdotes of reinfections with Covid, which doesn’t gel easily with this study. Perhaps some antibodies are just not protective? Cross protection between variants may be a hit-and-miss thing.
These results just mean people still have antibodies to whatever strain they caught. That’s good, but it doesn’t mean they will be protected against other strains of Covid. Nor does this result necessarily apply to the very high risk, or old or immunocompromised, who weren’t in the study.
It is nonetheless, indisputably better than immunity generated by vaccines.
So why don’t we do more testing for natural antibodies?
These antibody tests exist and are called Serology Point-of-Care Tests. But The Australian TGA tells us that these are illegal to supply to Australian citizens direct. They are only available through their doctors, and maybe not even then (doctors argue they are too busy)?

It’s not that the tests can physically hurt people, but they might give them dangerous ideas — like maybe that they don’t need to be vaccinated?

Cold vaccines are largely non-existent and Coronavirus is in that family if I’m not mistaken. As you mention the flu vaccine, a different family from the colds, is dubious in its success at best. I’ve had it a few times, but at least they tell us it’s largely a “best guess” vaccine with variable efficacy.
I’m not opposed to vaccination in the least and was late in getting my Covid vaccine due to the boondoggle in acquiring the vaccine in Canada and my doctor also recommending the shingles vaccine (which I had one heck of a reaction to the second shot). I have two Covid shots but zero interest in a third, though work may well mandate it. The shingles vaccine is a fascinating comparison – I’ve had my two shot and there’s no need for boosters. Ever. So the Covid vaccine is at best a therapeutic IMO. There are cheaper, safer therapeutics out there so why the mandates? I suspect it has a whole lot to do with wealth transfer. Not really a moral or valid rationale for mandates.

And Doctors do routinely PCR test for serious “ILI” – which means Influenza Like Infections, and they do it a lot.

Listened to an interview (this morning on RNZ) with Prof. Lone Simonsen, Danish epidemiologist, who was talking on this very subject.
She said in Denmark rapid antigen / serology tests (available to anyone) could distinguish between shot-induced and naturally acquired immunity: the jabees produced antibodies whereas the un-jabbed, hence naturally immune, produced nuclear protein(s), which weren’t present in the shot jabees’ blood.

Yesterday the Therapeutic Goods Administration web site showed that for the 51 years of data collection, vaccines, other that for Covid, were 76 in number and they caused 19,360 reported adverse reactions which included 60 deaths.
There are 4 vaccines reported for Covid and they caused 104,955 adverse reactions including 748 deaths. These vaccines were available for 10 months from 21 February 2021. This means that relative to the 51 years of all other vaccines, the four Covid vaccines caused adverse reactions at a rate 330 times greater per 10 month period than for all other vaccines. Further, the Covid vaccines caused deaths at a rate of 760 times greater per 10 month period than all other vaccines.
Does this not imply that there is something very wrong with the Covid vaccines?
Interestingly, in earlier years Australia had a large population of the homo sapien species. It is very annoying how little reliable information you can find in the public health system (probably anywhere). I’m an oldie who took the first two (AZ) jabs in my usual obedient habit, but since then have developed major doubt about the safety of these things, especially seeing the force and coercion being applied to the populations, the changed language, the banning of other treatments and attempted subdued reporting about vaccine side effects. Soon I will be getting cataract surgery and the eye specialist asks for current vaccination status proof. Pretty sure the Qld gov are going to change the definition of fully vaccinated any time now.
I really don’t want the booster – especially an MRNA one – but it is impossible to find out if I will be safe enough to get AZ again if I have to have something. I don’t have a doc I completely trust any more either. Even catching covid in the meantime wouldn’t absolve me of the need for the booster, would it, even if I had then got a good dose of natural immunity?

Hi Janet. I’m not a doctor and have no relevant expertise, but I think an important factor in the decision whether or not to have the ‘vaccine’ should include your personal risk factor. It’s very clear now that Covid mostly threatens the elderly, plus those with a vitamin D deficiency, obesity and/or the existence of other significant health issues; also those with compromised immune systems. I think ‘The Science’ shows that appropriate nutrition and supplementation (where required), combined with weight management, are far more effective than another trip to the Jabattoir for further boosters of the current ‘vaccines that don’t vaccinate’.

Also similar to Pfizer’s ‘Comirnaty vaccine’ approval, Moderna’s ‘Spikevax,’ is not actually available in the US, but, rather, is able to be swapped out with the previous version that is still under EUA approval.
It is unlikely that the fully approved ‘Spikevax’ will be seen in the states anytime soon, especially considering the massive stockpile of Moderna EUA vaccines that has been compiled by the US government.

If you’re not vaccinated against a specific virus, and your antibody system rallies to successfully fend it off, that’s not due to memory cells. If it did it once, demonstrating how robust your defences are, then it can most likely do it again. Measuring remnants of antibody memory is a furphy that only has meaning for those who required synthetic prompting of antibodies via a vaccine. That type of antibody generation can only be viable agaisnt the specific virus it’s designed for.

Why Ivermectin was Disappeared
Now let’s imagine another patient calls in. This patient also has a dry cough scratchy throat, muscle aches, and a low-grade fever. Only this patient had a COVID test kit at home and tested positive. The physician wants to prescribe a medication with no risk of bacterial resistance and a very benign side-effect profile. He’s read lots of literature to suggest it will be helpful. There are a significant number of double-blind studies showing it to be effective in the treatment of SARS Co-V2. It has been used in multiple countries with excellent results. Except, in this case, the physician will find it impossible to prescribe that medication. It will be impossible because that medication is Ivermectin. And somehow it has been removed from the market.
Not only has this FDA-approved, Nobel prize-winning drug been made unavailable, but if a physician were to prescribe it, or advocate it as therapy, they are threatened with the potential loss of their medical license, their hospital affiliations, and their board certification.
It gets even more ironic. I’ve noticed that some physicians are prescribing a very common antibiotic called azithromycin for their COVID patients. It is well understood that for COVID-19 when taken alone, it is of no value. There is absolutely no data to show efficacy in COVID-19. It has the same potential problems, as when it is prescribed for other viral infections. Yet the practice goes on, again unimpeded.
So what’s the difference between prescriptions written for an anti-bacterial, versus Ivermectin, which is an anti-parasitic agent, for a viral infection? Both primarily target infectious agents other than viruses. If anything, even it was futile therapy, Ivermectin is safer than the antibiotics discussed. Yet it is the only medication that has been effectively banned
Given all this, I think it’s easy to suspect that the FDA, the NIH, and the CDC actually understand the potential benefits of Ivermectin and other repurposed drugs. But they also realize that these medications threaten the profits of the pharmaceutical industry with which they are financially entwined.
I hope that someday, our investigatory agencies can push past the vast political power these companies have acquired through their burgeoning profits, and find out the truth.

Pentagon Responds To DoD Whistleblowers’ Claim Of Spiking Disease Rates In The Military After COVID Vaccine Mandate
The DoD responded that the DMED (Defense Medical Epidemiology Database) data from 2016 to 2020 that the whistleblowers brought up was erroneous and incomplete, and is currently under review.
“DHA’s Armed Forces Surveillance Division (AFSD) conducted a complete review of the data contained in the Defense Medical Epidemiology Database (DMED) and found that the data was incorrect for the years 2016-2020,” Maj. Charlie Dietz, a spokesperson for the DoD, told The Epoch Times.
“DMED is a web-based tool to query de-identified active component personnel and medical event data contained within the Defense Medical Surveillance System (DMSS).
“Comparing the DMED database to the source data contained in DMSS, AFHSD discovered that the total number of medical diagnoses from 2016-2020 that were accessible in DMED represented only a small fraction of actual medical diagnoses for those years. In contrast, the 2021 total number of medical diagnoses were up to date in DMED. Comparison of 2021 to 2016-2020 resulted in the appearance of significant increased occurrence of all medical diagnoses in 2021 because of the under-reported data for 2016-2020. AFHSD has taken DMED offline to identify and correct the root-cause of the data corruption,” Dietz said.
Renz responded:
“The DoD has claimed that the DMED data from the years 2016-2020 was incorrect. This is absurd. We spend millions of dollars per year on DMED and people monitoring DMED which is one of the premier epidemiological databases in the world. Accuracy in this database is critical as it is used to monitor for health issues in our troops.
“The DoD would have us believe that the DMED database was wrong from 2016-2020 but then magically was corrected in 2021 despite the fact that they had not noticed it was wrong until we pointed it out in our testimony before Senator Johnson. Further, we are asked to believe that in 2020, the year of what they claim to be the greatest pandemic since 1918, and despite the fact that it is documented that the CDC was also watching this database, no one noticed an error of 20 million-plus injury/disease codes per year,” Renz told The Epoch Times.
“The Department of Defense, the Biden administration is on notice they must preserve these records and this must be investigated,” Johnson said in the five-hour hearing in Washington.
“Renz also informed me that some DMED data showing registered diagnoses of myocarditis had been removed from the database. Following the allegation that DMED data had been doctored, I immediately wrote to you on January 24 requesting that you preserve all records referring, relating, or reported to DMED. I have yet to hear whether you have complied with this request.” Johnson wrote in a letter (pdf) to Lloyd Austin, the U.S. defense secretary.

A recent paper which involved Carl Heneghan who has been critical of UK Government policy throughout the epidemic demonstrates just how little care has been taken by ‘experts & those responsible for the whole PCR testing regime’ to make it fit for purpose meaning many people may have lost their jobs and incomes by being given wrong results. The fact that the writers of the paper got little assistance via FOI requests because answers to the questions were simply unknown even to the point of not knowing the cycle threshold used or the actual viral load identified for particular samples. The crime is the complete waste and total absence of available evidence to assist the next time we have a novel virus outbreak. We have had huge expenditure for a very amateur performance and someone needs to be held responsible for it. It is similar to the criminal use of public money on fraudulent PPE contracts.

Jo, the first problem with shutting borders is what happens when you re-open them. To exaggerate to make the point the aboriginal races had a sealed border until the first fleet arrived. They had no immunity to a whole range of european diseases. Who knows what us eastern staters will bring to the west when we are allowed back into paradise.
