Climate alarmism posing as science education for children
By David Wojick
https://www.cfact.org/2022/04/21/climate-alarmism-posing-as-science-education-for-children/
The beginning: “The new and so-called Next Generation Science Standards are now law for about a third of American children. They say what will be taught in each grade from first grade through high school. At least 20 states have adopted them. See https://ngss.nsta.org/About.aspx for a map.
Traditional standards still govern in the other States. These generally mandate that climate science will be taught in high school Earth Science courses. Earth Science is an optional course, not a requirement, and even then climate is a minor topic.
In stark contrast the Next Gen standards are alarmist to the core. They mandate that climate be taught in middle school science, which everyone takes. The topic is emphasized, with alarmism a central feature. This means lots of climate modeling, even though these students have had relatively little prior science. They cannot possibly evaluate the models they are forced to use.
Implementing Next Gen requires developing lesson plans that say what will be taught in each one hour class, often including how it will be taught. Writing these lesson plans for every topic, in every grade, is a huge ongoing effort.
Next Gen has just approved a big climate science unit and it is very bad. It starts with newspaper accounts of floods and droughts, blames them on our CO2 and methane emissions, then ends with community action. And this is for 7th graders, who are typically around 13 years old and know very little hard science. This is pure alarmism presented to children as science. It is purely shameful.
The developer is OpenSciEd, where open means their products are free for schools to use. Who pays is an interesting question. The title is “OpenSciEd Unit 7.6: How Do Changes in Earth’s System Impact Our Communities and What Can We Do About It?” Get it? Changes cause impact requiring community action. The standard alarmist formula, action not science.
You can find the junk here: https://www.openscied.org/instructional-materials/7-6-earths-resources-human-impact/
They even have a neat trick in their advertising. They claim the students “figure out” all this alarmism, saying this: “This unit on Earth’s resources and human impact begins with students observing news stories and headlines of drought and flood events across the United States. Students figure out that these drought and flood events are not normal and that both kinds of events seem to be related to rising temperatures.”
Also:
“Students figure out that the rising temperatures are caused by an imbalance in Earth’s carbon system, resulting in a variety of problems in different communities. The unit ends with students evaluating different kinds of solutions to these problems and how they are implemented in communities.”
A lot of student figuring, right? They must think a lot. Wrong! This is pure indoctrination.”
There is more in the article. Please share it. We need a campaign to block the adoption of these horrific lessons
Note that I have a Climate Change Debate Education site with lots of skeptical materials, including links to about 350 videos by leading skeptics.
See http://ccdedu.blogspot.com/
I also have a fundraiser for this education effort at

We have been relatively inactive but are now gearing up to fight this indoctrination. Donations are most welcome. You can donate anonymously.

David,
The first experiment should be a classroom demonstration of the greenhouse effect, followed quickly by a presentation on all the physical evidence the IPCC has collected demonstrating that changes in atmospheric CO2 levels lead to changes in surface temperatures. Only joking!
Being able to demonstrate some of the fallacies of today’s climate “science” would require STEM qualified teachers. Sadly, I don’t think there are that many. So lacking qualifications and an enquiring mindset, teachers will probably gravitate to pre-packaged training materials.
Pity the enquiring minds in the student population. Education has become brainwashing, not nurturing!
210
I think the vast majority of those who teach 7th grade science are qualified to do so. The science is not very difficult. And they all use textbooks or lesson plans, which are prepackaged materials mandated by their school, school district or state, depending on the State. The key is to get those materials right.

He demonstrates (inadvertently) just about everything that is wrong with Climate Science.

Science denial will continue in US schools. Only 67% teach evolution. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/evolution-education-in-the-u-s-is-getting-better/
016
“Science denial “
Yes, particularly if they teach the farce that is AGW, ie the scientific DENIAL of natural climate variability
As you are well aware, there is no evidence of any human CO2 warming anywhere, (except in the un-validated, erroneous models.

I think your use of the term “erroneous” is too soft, but the word that I think is more accurate is one Jo prefers us not to use.
Cheers
Dave B
00
I think your use of the word “erroneous” is too soft, but the word I thinkmis more accurate is not acceptable here.
40
Wrong Simon. 100% teach evolution. The state standards all require it. 32% also mention creationism, giving 67% that do not. A nice example of alarmist misinterpretation of data, so thanks for that.
But in any case I do not see what this has to do with my article. Deflection is another prominent trait of alarmists.
You are two for two!
81
“Students figure out that …”.
If a student figures something out, then you cannot possibly say in advance what their conclusion will be.
Unless, of course, you know that by then the student will be thoroughly brainwashed.
121
Well said Mike. If you look at the 18 lesson list they do not figure anything out. It is all “we know that” and such. Plus they are using a climate model programmed for alarmism, as all are. The only sources of sustained change in the model are human.
41
I attended State run public schools in Queensland back in the 1950/60s and there were weekly religious instruction sessions taught by the various community faith leaders who rocked up to the school for those session. The sessions were voluntary. Agnoostics got to do whatever they wanted.
I do not believe that we can entrust instruction in the Climate Change faith to ordinary teachers. There needs to be dedicated community faith leaders trained specifically to lead the instruction. We do not want any smart kids using their scientific knowledge to question the faith. The difference with religious studies is that Climate Change studies will be compulsory and unified.
81
Mr. W.: Thank you for that. Based on “Libs of tiktok” treatment, you could post videos of alarmists talking alarmism and get yourself banned for inciting right wingers! Even featured in the Washington Post!!!
110
Good point, David. The young is being brainwashed by the Green/Woke/Left trash. The “Next Generation” is appropriate, being compared to “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. In other words, Science FICTION.
160
Yes but this time we have them red handed on a national scale.

Do the Google Earth Day animations really show climate change or just yearly weather variations? Lots of years missing in the sequences, is that done to give a false impression of continuous decline? The short term reef sequence looks highly suspicious to me, and even then, what if it is completely as new by next year. Nature is not static. The actual Google animations as reported by mashable.

Question Is SARS-CoV-2 messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccination associated with risk of myocarditis?
Findings In a cohort study of 23.1 million residents across 4 Nordic countries, risk of myocarditis after the first and second doses of SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines was highest in young males aged 16 to 24 years after the second dose. For young males receiving 2 doses of the same vaccine, data were compatible with between 4 and 7 excess events in 28 days per 100 000 vaccinees after second-dose BNT162b2, and between 9 and 28 per 100 000 vaccinees after second-dose mRNA-1273.”

This is science according to the Queensland Government – sign on the Western Freeway: “Feeling unwell? Get your Covid booster.”
Not sure if they’re suggesting that they now have a fast acting booster that will cure a current case of covid, or whether the booster fixes any and all health conditions. Snake oil salesmanship at its finest.
220
It’s ridiculous isn’t it?
The worst thing you can do is take the jab while already being sick with Covid … and if you read the fine print they tell you to make sure you are in good health before you go and get the booster. Common sense left the building some time ago.
260
I believe inciting someone to self-harm is a criminal offense. Telling people to get jabbed while ill is inciting someone to self-harm. Case closed.

MP in case you missed my posts ….
There is The Australian Constitution and State Constitutions, I am not a lawyer but I understand that when agreement was reached for the Federation of States by the British Colonies here each one retained most of the areas of responsibility and powers they had independently when they formed the Federal Government for the Commonwealth of Australia and therefore in those areas Federal Government’s role is supportive (providing funding grants but not responsible for primary funding for example, like funding grants for State Emergency Services and Public Health that State Governments are responsible for).

Multiple large food processing & distribution plants in US have recently exploded or burned down
As food uncertainly lingers on the horizon thanks to US sanctions and government decimation of the economy during the past two years, there is another factor contributing to the problem. Since the beginning of the year, there have been several very large food processing facilities that have exploded or burned to the ground across the U.S.
This week, a vegetable and nut processing facility in Dufur, Oregon became engulfed in flames for unknown reasons. “Lights flickered; They heard a pop and went up there to check it out and there was a fire,” according to a report made to Wasco County 911 records listed in the Wasco County Sheriff’s log. The independent distributor of natural, organic and non-GMO foods which employees around 150 people burned to the ground.
One week before that fire in Oregon, a massive fire brought down a meat processing plant in Conway, New Hampshire. After burning for 16 hours, multiple fire crews finally put out the fire at East Conway Beef and Pork but the facility is completely destroyed.
That same week, in Salinas, California, a massive fire at the Taylor Farms Processing Facility led to the evacuation of residents as it burned for over 17 hours. Taylor Farms is a major agriculture company that processes and delivers many of the salad kits seen in grocery stores. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
It’s not only food production and distribution plants either. In Maricopa, Arizona, in March, a massive fire wiped out the Maricopa Food Pantry which distributes food to the less fortunate. More than 50,000 lbs of food was destroyed in the blaze that lasted for 24 hours. That fire is also under investigation.
The fact is that since last year, more than a dozen of these fires and explosions have taken place at food processing and distribution centers.
100
Don’t you just love coincidences like these.
Just like dozens of doctors with cancer cures (threatening big pharma) all committing “suicide” in a narrow time frame…
Maybe the fire investigators should go “around back” of the buildings and look for bullet holes and then ask Hillary where she was at the time. 😅😉

Place your bets on a third consecutive La Nina.
https://www.weatherzone.com.au/news/la-nina-holding-on-in-pacific-ocean-but-for-how-long/537153
42
Its not unprecedented.
‘The 1998–2001 La Niña persisted for three years with three distinct peaks over the summers of 1998–99, 1999–2000, and 2000–01. The event was generally moderate in strength …’ (BoM)
30
Then of course there was 1973-75.
30
That’s the ones I remember, particularly when I didn’t have air conditioning. Became a priority after those summers.
10
Three consecutive La Nina might be a regular cycle, hard to get past 1950, but I’ll keep digging.
The other thing, this type of event only happens during a negative Pacific Decadal Oscillation.
00
Bring it on – viva La Niña!
The Endless Summer 2.022 continues:
Warm, humid, calm, sunshine (with thee odd tropical downpour now & then) I’m happy with that… saves me having to fly to QLD or W.A.
Long live La Niña! 😁
20
Thought the mid-70s had significant La Niña periods? I can recall a couple of long, hot summers stretching right into winter, similar but worse than we are now experiencing in Perth.

Rumour has it that 68.7 % of women voting in the federal election want action on climate change.
‘The independent running to unseat incumbent Liberal MP Trent Zimmerman in North Sydney has amassed a campaign war chest of about $1.2 million.’ (Oz)
41
It’s only the fine print reveals that they want others to take the action – i.e everyone else needs to sell their Range Rovers.
80
The female independents (feminists) are being opportunistic, knowing full well that the maternal instinct should get her over the line.
30
I wonder how many would forgo that next pair of shoes and donate the money so someone else can have a climate boondoggle?
10
How many pay the green surcharge on an airline ticket? Is it still on offer?
It has been highlighted on this blog that a vanishing few people are willing to pay the green price PERSONALLY. The government should do it!

What Trump and Covid Revealed
An analysis of the current American political crisis.
Modern science was supposed to increase our understanding of the world. Instead, we seem to know less. Science has always introduced doubt regarding long-held verities. But now the authority of science, rather than the scientific method, is used to create confusion about things that had once been considered obvious and indisputable.
There have always, for instance, been rare individuals who did not precisely fit into the categories of either man or woman, but never before in human history did these exceptions lead to biological males competing in, and dominating, female athletic tournaments. There is more than compassion or tolerance at work here. America’s political and intellectual elites claim not to know what distinguishes male from female. Just a few weeks ago, the newest justice to the United States Supreme Court, Ketanji Brown Jackson, stated flatly that she could not define what a woman is. This newly discovered ignorance is, supposedly, derived from superior scientific insight. Our technology advances, but our wisdom diminishes.
The American Constitution was written to secure the rights of human beings, not chickens or cows. What if scientists were to declare next that there is no objective basis for the idea of “human beings”? This would be no great leap from the inability to distinguish male from female. Should the American people accept that the distinction between humans and chickens (or robots) is dependent on the proclamations of biology or modern science, and that the special status of human beings should be abandoned if science says so?
More than 2,000 years ago Aristotle wrote perceptively about what defines human beings as a species, on the basis of ordinary observations
– COVID and the Tyranny of Faucian Science
– The Collapse of the Establishment’s Legitimacy
– “Rational” Legitimacy versus Political Legitimacy
– The Rebellion
– What Trump Revealed
– The Real American Crisis
50
Most interesting was the fact that Ketanji Brown Jackson’s reason for being unable to “define what a woman is” was that she is not a biologist. Yet her woke lefty supporters are simultaneously sprouting that gender has nothing to do with biology.
This is truly an Orwellian world we live in where people can hold two contradictory facts to be true.
60
Then as a Supreme Court Justice who is unable to define what a Woman is, she MUST recuse herself from any case before the Supreme Court that affects Women or anyone claiming to be a Woman. She has admitted that she cannot define what a Woman is, therefore she is not competent to judge any aspect of any law or case that includes or bears upon, Women.
80
They must teach a lot of biology in high school. Teenagers know.
I certainly did, and while there were some unattractive girls, they were always prettier than the guys.

This week I found some information on a hydrogen plant that is adding hydrogen to a portion of the South Australian gas network at 5% concentration.
https://www.agig.com.au/hydrogen-park-south-australia
The hydrogen is produced in an electrolysis plant employing Siemens Proton Exchange Membrane electrolysers. The plant has rated power of 1.25MW to produce 20kg of hydrogen per hour.
Given that the gas is added to the NG network, its main use will be heating. Heating value of hydrogen is 120MJ/kg. About 6 times the specific heating value of dry wood.
At 20kg/hr the heating rate of product is 2.4GJ/hour (666kW). The plant hourly rated energy input is 4.5GJ. So conversion efficiency is 53%.
The plant cost AUD14.5M.
Some hydrogen is transported by hydrogen tube trailers. These monsters are stacked with steel tubes rated at 228bar and can pack in 350kg of hydrogen:
https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Rob-Cussons/publication/329270083/figure/fig7/AS:779717447798785@1562910534173/BOC-tube-trailer-for-transporting-hydrogen.jpg
There is a high pressure compressor to bring the hydrogen up to transport pressure. I do not know if this is included in the 1.25MW rating.
Transport tube modules cost around USD100k. So with 350kg of hydrogen there is 42GJ (11.7MWh) of stored heating value assuming expansion does not add or subtract from the heating value. This is a relatively low cost battery no matter how the energy is recovered. On the other hand, the hydrogen tube module has the same heating value as 2 tonne of wood.
If the hydrogen plant was connected to a wind turbine rated at say 1.5MW to cater for the transmission losses, it could expect to produce 52t (6.3TJ) of hydrogen in a year. The turbine would require about 100Ha of clear area to operate efficiently. More if required to separate from dwellings.
Now 100Ha of managed forest would produce about 370 tonnes of hardwood each year. The heating value of 7.4TJ.
The big tech solution is to chop down every tree and cover the landscape with wind energy extractors to run so-called green hydrogen plants that cost heaps to build and store the hydrogen in high pressure vessels for later use.
The low tech is to grow more trees in better mange forests and harvest the wood for building timber and as heating fuel.
Deep convection is a process that climate models omit because it is a surface temperature control process that prevents Earth undergoing runaway warming. It is the reason liquid water has remained on the planet for billions of years. Deep convection requires 45mm of precipitable atmospheric water to become cyclic and produce convergence zones that occur over tropical rain forests. The thick biomass and high humus soils retain moisture that support atmospheric water column similar to those found over ocean water – think Amazon rain forest.
The CO2 demonising zealots who are driving the erection of wind energy extractors considers forests a hindrance to development. Taken to its ultimate conclusion, Earth will be dominated by wind energy extractors and trees will be long gone. The misguided effort to fix the weather will result in a treeless, lifeless landscape unfit for human habitation.
It is not surprising that an iron ore magnate is in line for the subsidy harvesting that is already lined up for green hydrogen. The demand that green hydrogen will make for steel and all other industrial materials will be limitless.
100
It is worth noting that the current inflated wholesale price for NG in Australia is AUD16/GJ. I am paying AUD34/GJ at retail level.
So the $14.5M plant has a potential revenue stream of $38/hr or $336k for continuous operation. So if electricity was supplied free on average; the plant operated continuously; was completely automated; was maintenance free; no financing fees and no other administrative costs the plant would payback its capital in 43 years.
The spot price for hydrogen gas in Asia is USD400/t so that values the plant hourly production of 20kg just USD8.
It is very difficult to see an economic future in green hydrogen but that will not deter the subsidy farmers.
The fact that something can be done does not mean it is economic.
As an aside – it would be impossible to get any competent person out of bed for the promise of AUD38/hr so the plant would need to run without continuous human monitoring or intervention to have any chance of making money – certainly not impossible.
90
Please factor into your calculations that Wind has a capacity factor of approx. 30% and Solar has a capacity factor of approx 20%. Thus, the payback period would be, on average, 4 times longer than your 43 years. About 170 years.
40
The payback is based on free electricity as I stated. I only used the wind energy extractor as a basis for calculating the land area it would occupy. At 30% CF it would require three 1.5MW units so a lot more forrest lost than the calculation above.
Current project forecasts are claiming a break-even price of $8/kg. But that is still highly optimistic. The $2/kg target that Twiggy has appears pure fantasy.
A feature of the PEM technology is that it accommodates supply variation. But all the capital doing little for a lot of time would be very poor capital utilisation. Curtailment is Australia currently runs at 10% so if the hydrogen plants were just using excess generating potential then they would run at about 10% CF. So a $14.5M plant producing 48kg of hydrogen a day with zero operating cost would not even pay better than a term deposit.

What is your retail cost per gas unit Rick? Excluding other consumer costs. In Perth WA it’s only 15c/unit.

Biden Flew Across the Country to Talk About Climate Change
President Joe Biden made a special trip from Washington D.C. to Seattle on Friday to mark Earth Day and to tout his climate change agenda.
Air Force One emits 8.75 pounds of carbon per mile. The distance between D.C. and Seattle is approximately 2700 miles, clocking in a round trip at 23,625 pounds of carbon emissions.
During his remarks, Biden said his administration plans to transform the military and turn U.S. forces away from fossil fuels.
“We’re gonna start the process for every vehicle in the United States military, Every vehicle is going to be climate friendly,” Biden said.
Earlier this week Climate Czar John Kerry expressed the importance of not allowing fossil fuel use to grow. He did not mention his regular use of a private jet or dozens of trips across the ocean to discuss climate change with foreign leaders.

Indonesia Bans Edible Oil Exports, Sparks “Mayhem” As Global Food Crisis Ahead
The rise of food protectionism by countries could exacerbate a massive hunger crisis that could take the world by storm later this year (well, that’s at least what the Rockefeller Foundation believes).
The world’s biggest palm oil producer, Indonesia, is the latest country to embrace protectionist measures to mitigate domestic food shortages, according to Bloomberg.
President Joko Widodo on Friday announced the export ban of all cooking oil and palm oil products would begin on April 28.
Widodo said during a television broadcast that the measures aimed to ensure domestic markets had ample cooking oil supplies following a dramatic increase in prices.

Is the US in for a food crisis? Unthinkable, until you think about all the mouths streaming across their souther border who will produce nothing.

Florida releases examples of rejected ‘woke math’ textbooks
Bar graphs tell students that seniors, conservatives have the most racial prejudice
Florida education officials have released four images of “woke math” in textbooks they rejected last week for use in K-12 public schools.
The state’s Department of Education rejected 54 of 132 titles that textbook publishers submitted for use next year, including 71% of proposed elementary school books, because they did not meet state benchmarks or they contained examples of critical race theory and social-emotional learning.
Florida education officials said Friday that copyright law prevented them from publicizing the names and publishers of the textbooks that contain the four images, which reference “racial prejudice” in math problems and how students feel about working together on the subject.
“At this time, those who have submitted textbooks for consideration still own the material,” spokesperson Cassie Palelis told The Washington Times in an email.
A disclaimer posted with the images on the department’s website said officials are giving publishers “the opportunity to remediate all deficiencies identified during the review.”
“Based on the volume of requests the department has received for examples of problematic elements of the recently reviewed instructional materials, the following are examples provided to the department by the public and presented no conflict in sharing them,” the disclaimer reads in part.

I submitted a question to the NYTimes Climate Change article. My question did not get a run but I did get a reply with link to the article:
https://www.nytimes.com/explain/2022/04/22/climate/climate-change-causes-effects?unlocked_article_code=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACEIPuomT1JKd6J17Vw1cRCfTTMQmqxCdw_PIxfsxlmf6JSmTDmwalb5SW9THoR2Kbq5iYtIv0nOQQN5EOaMiAfdyx-lQMglmQhSzr4DBlZoLLi4pssj7eFIK6K_3fOJy9y72PC7-LOpwzbautBWCNDW7HfyCjmsrcAZio8FjJUWoi31c2qvCFOBqitN0ieMnAJ95FmgGYXWP7Pj4Gl4pboX9GxLf7AgwXO5aXjDBz5XLu_9bLlIkWR-RR2h_4G089NpaJNgXWa74JBQgc8b46q4DXi0qdMz6Qs1sGPWH0uliorXPqheTycapxP5QFKlcvrjMtmvSJ0-KtwbRfxU5LCMMGuF2wCiL
My question – I asked why climate models do the impossible by having ocean surfaces exceeding 30C. I expect it was too technical.
70
Nice well done. Name the ocean buoy’s? that recorded the ocean temps continually for 100 years?
Most or All ocean temps before 1950 are generated by “Models” based on land temps. We have no continual ocean temp records based on “Real” ocean buoy’s.
So 80% of the temps showing rising of ocean temps are based on “Models” of land temps. OMG!
Is that right?

There is one reliable ocean temperature record off the Australian coast taken by bucket samples on a scientific voyage in 1871. They went up the coast first week of December and back the third week. The readings were taken hourly from 6am to 6pm whenever steaming.
I compared the temperature for the same latitude with satellite records in the corresponding weeks in 2019:
https://1drv.ms/b/s!Aq1iAj8Yo7jNhEozIcfpIL-NB8RR
The outlier in the 1871 measurement of 32C was recorded in the Brisbane River. The higher latitudes were warmer in 2019 than 1871 but the tropical ocean waters off the coast peaked at 29C in 1871 and the peak was a tad lower in 2019.
This shows the Nino34 index which is the anomaly to the temperature in the Nino 34 region of the tropical Pacific:
http://bmcnoldy.rsmas.miami.edu/tropics/oni/
The measurements date back to 1870. Prior the moored buoys and satellite records the data would be sparse. Since the satellite measurements from 1980, the temperature trend has been down:
http://bmcnoldy.rsmas.miami.edu/tropics/oni/
Actual temperature for basis of anomaly beginning in 1854:
http://bmcnoldy.rsmas.miami.edu/tropics/oni/ONI_NINO34_1854-2022.txt
All climate models show a warming trend of about 1C over the satellite era to present. So they do not even get the past right.

Some ships would throw a bucket over the side and take a reading. It was not considered v accurate though. How long would that have been happening?

You’re testing a long memory H, but I think it was Benjamin Franklin who first tossed the bucket over the side and measured the temperature, on a voyage to England during the Civil War. As a result, the Gulf Stream was identified.

One sailor, whose name has not yet been released, died on board the ship on April 15. The sailor was found unresponsive and treated by the medical team on board before being transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, where they died.
Two other sailors assigned to the aircraft carrier were found dead on April 9 and April 10 at separate offsite locations. The Navy has identified these two sailors as……

Beer, wine, and spirits differentially influence body composition in older white adults–a United Kingdom Biobank study
These results suggest that drinking more beer and spirits could be linked to greater adiposity-associated weight gain in older White adults, while the consumption of red wine, but not white wine, could be inversely linked to adiposity-associated weight gain in older White adults. These results furthermore imply that the consumption of white wine in moderation may help curb age-associated bone mineral loss in older White adults.

VAIDS in Australia and Canada
Australia recently recorded a 7 day average of 72 Covid-19 deaths every day. But during the first wave of Covid-19 to hit the country back in March 2020, the 7 day average equated to no more than 4 deaths per day.
Meanwhile official New South Wales Government figures shows that throughout the whole of March 2022, the vaccinated population accounted for over 4 in every 5 Covid-19 deaths.
So why is it that the 7 day average number of Covid-19 deaths is currently 18 times higher two years on from the beginning of the pandemic?
And why is it that according to official Government figures, the vaccinated population account for 84% of the record breaking number of Covid-19 deaths in Australia?
https://dailyexpose.uk/2022/04/21/australia-4-in-5-covid-deaths-fully-vaccinated-2/
The answer: climate change (the fake one that is) or maybe traffic noise…or barking dogs or…
70
Australia closed up shop in March 2020. No flights in or out unless it was specifically sanctioned. Incoming travellers were isolated from the community for two weeks. If someone had Covid and had been out in the community, all their activities were traced and contacts required to test and isolate. Community spread was consistently driven to zero throughout 2020. People in Melbourne had 6 months in home quarantine with the exception of a few critical workers who had work permits to travel and the 1 hour permitted for weekly grocery shopping.
Any State that had community spread of Covid was isolated from the neighbouring States by road blocks. Cross border travel required specific government approval.
By the end of 2021, when the adult population had reached 80% fully vaccinated, the movement restrictions were gradually eased and the virus spread freely but omicron was the dominant strain by then.
Most of the deaths now are clearly “with” covid and are representative of the community cross-section. 82% of community are vaccinated. The Covid fatality rate in Australia is only 0.07% because the vaccination rate is so high:

What’s coming up

Extracts..
China is moving full steam ahead to circumvent the Biden Administration entirely. China and Russia have now struck a deal that China will buy Russian energy payable in yuan. Meanwhile, Russia is advising its people to transfer dollar-based accounts to yuan-based. This is critical because it reflects the trend and it is pointing to China eventually taking Taiwan. Then we will see that China will control 75% of the entire world’s supply of computer chips.
China’s hypersonic missiles can breach American defenses and gain first strike advantages. Germany’s complete failure of GREEN Energy replacement warns that Europe will not survive with a proposed oil embargo against Russia which seems to be really instigated by climate change rather than supporting Ukraine. The World Government Summit of 2022 appears to be merely a gathering of delusional dreams without any respect for nations who object to this world domination and surrender of sovereignty.
Biden has succeeded in destroying the world economy bringing globalization to a screeching halt. What took decades to create, Biden has destroyed in just 13 months. There is no going back. This arrangement between Russia and China dealing in yuan is also the prelude to the invasion of Taiwan. If anything, this will significantly impact technology and drive inflation significantly higher which will only lead to more civil unrest internationally and more nations to see their governments overthrown for the economic stupidity.
The people behind Putin are the real warmongers and they have been pushing for the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine to scare the hell out of Europe. But Putin has been the one who was trying to modernize Russia and wanted it to be fully integrated into the world economy. Hence, the sanctions were braindead for they lent more support to the hardliners than Putin.
China would logically then take Taiwan and the US would be incapable of fighting on two fronts. The potential for anything on a geopolitical level in Taiwan is also showing up in the September/October period. Nevertheless, our war cycle is really targeting 2023 for the start. Hence, these targets here in the late summer of 2022 may see the initiation of conflict that is then escalated in 2023.
Prepare, prepare, prepare…
Pollies won’t save you. YOU have to do that.

Some of those Russian gas ventures were financed by the Chinese in the first place, and getting gas back to China is seen as a perfectly reasonable payback on that investment. There’s a strong sense of ownership there, and not much incentive to throw it away because Washington says so.
50
There are massive logistics constraints on China paying for Putin’s war via oil.
And the rest is equally BS.
Be afraid of China, not Russia. Neither economies are sustainable. Xi probably believes it is not only acceptable, but desirable, to have a massive death toll in both China and the West. Was the WuFlu the opening shot?

Massive DNA study of human cancers offers new clues about their causes
A team of UK scientists has analyzed the complete genetic makeup of 12,000 tumors from NHS patients and discovered 58 new mutations that provide clues about their potential causes. The team, composed of scientists from Cambridge University Hospitals and the University of Cambridge, used data from the 100,000 Genomes Project. That’s a British initiative to sequence the whole genomes of patients with cancers and rare diseases.

Cancer Discovered in Ancient Egyptian Remains Shows These Days We Have It Much Worse
Bones bearing signs of cancer found in an ancient Egyptian cemetery reveal that the often devastating disease is much more prevalent now than it was in the people who lived near the Dakhleh Oasis.
Out of 1,087 skeletons buried between 1,500 and 3,000 years ago, just 6 were found with cancer – two younger women with cervical cancer, and a man with testicular cancer, which have all been associated with HPV; and an older mummified man with colorectal cancer, an older woman with metastatic carcinoma, and a toddler with leukaemia.

I can explain why there is now an epidemic of cancer. Cancer, heart attacks, type 2 diabetes, dementia and so on, are prevented by biochemicals which are cells produce. Our cells require Vit D to produce any of the more than 3000 bio-chemicals which are known to require Vit D to produce. Vit D is a special chemical in our body. The general population of every modern (people work and live inside) country has an average Vit D level of around 27 ng/ml as compared to the required/normal level of 60 ng/ml. There is roughly an 80% reduction in cancer to correct the Vit D level from below 20 ng/ml to above 60 ng/ml.
The Egyptians worked outside and spent most of their day outside. They live at a latitude where it is possible for the human body to get sufficient UVB to make Vit D, 12 months of the year.
Every cell in our body has a copy of our DNA code in it. When our cells need to take action, they bring Vit D into the cell and use it to access the DNA code that is activated by Vit D. The Vit D activated DNA makes biochemicals. There are 1500 known Vit D activated genomes which are used in more than 600 systems in the body.
Correcting the Vit D deficiency by itself does not enable the body’s systems to work. We are all also deficient in the Magnesium, Zinc, Calcium, K2, and Vit. A. Our ancient diet (for 200,000 years when we developed our brains pre-language) pre-farming was believed to be roots (high in Vit A) and small animals. We lived in groups of about 32. The roots which we carried from place to place fermented to produce Vit K2.
Due to modern farming practices the agricultural soil all over the world has lost roughly half of the minerals in it. The plants absorb the minerals, we eat the plants or the animals we eat the plants and our waste goes to the sea. Over time this has caused the loss of key minerals in the agriculture soil and our food.

Calif. Dems Push Bill to Punish Doctors Who Disagree With Regime’s Scientific ‘Consensus’
California’s super-majority Democrats are moving through the legislature a bill to silence and punish doctors with differing opinions from the government regime’s scientific “consensus.” The bill, proposed by Assemblyman Evan Low, an anti-free speech Democrat, would subject doctors to “disciplinary action against a physician and surgeon” for the “dissemination or promotion of misinformation or disinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, or ‘COVID-19.’”

Mark Steyn, Live on British Telly, Freeview Channel 236: https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/mark-steyn-on-the-shocking-truth-about-the-booster-jab/
ONS data shows that in Britain, half the population is triple jabbed. The all cause death rate for the triple jabbed is two to three times that of the two jabbed or less. The reason seems to be that the spike proteins from the vaccine are not natural.
Dr Robert Malone, The Inventor of the mRNA vaccine, explains what has gone wrong, and why its going to get progressively worse for the vaccinated: https://rwmalonemd.substack.com/p/when-is-mrna-not-really-mrna?s=r
The “Spike protein” problem. The vaccine incorporates the synthetic nucleotide pseudouridine which persist in lymph nodes for at least 60 days after injection. This is not natural, and this is not really mRNA. There is no technology that I know of which can eliminate these synthetic “mRNA-like” molecules from your body. You just have to hope that your immune system will attack the cells that have taken up the polynucleotides and degrade (chew up) the offending large molecule that causes your cells to manufacture the toxic protein. Since virtually all current “gene therapy” methods are inefficient, and essentially deliver the genetic material randomly to a small subset of cells, there is no practical way to surgically remove the scattered, relatively rare transgenic cells. Clearance of genetically modified cells by the cellular immune system (T cells) is the only currently viable method to remove cells that have taken up the foreign genetic information. Based on this information, it appears to me that the extensive random incorporation of pseudouridine into the synthetic mRNA-like molecules used for the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna SARS-CoV-2 vaccines may well account for much or all of the observed immunosuppression, DNA virus reactivation, and remarkable persistence of the synthetic “mRNA” molecules observed in lymph node biopsy tissues by Katharina Röltgen et al:
So the triple jabbed are suffering from immunosuppression, which is being observed after multiple mRNA vaccine boosters, and which is increasingly referred to as an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or AIDS.

WHY THE PAST 10 YEARS OF AMERICAN LIFE HAVE BEEN UNIQUELY STUPID
It’s not just a phase.
The story of Babel is the best metaphor I have found for what happened to America in the 2010s, and for the fractured country we now inhabit. Something went terribly wrong, very suddenly. We are disoriented, unable to speak the same language or recognize the same truth. We are cut off from one another and from the past.
It’s been clear for quite a while now that red America and blue America are becoming like two different countries claiming the same territory, with two different versions of the Constitution, economics, and American history. But Babel is not a story about tribalism; it’s a story about the fragmentation of everything. It’s about the shattering of all that had seemed solid, the scattering of people who had been a community. It’s a metaphor for what is happening not only between red and blue, but within the left and within the right, as well as within universities, companies, professional associations, museums, and even families.
Babel is a metaphor for what some forms of social media have done to nearly all of the groups and institutions most important to the country’s future—and to us as a people. How did this happen? And what does it portend for American life?
– The Rise of the Modern Tower
– Things Fall Apart
– Politics After Babel
– Structural Stupidity
– It’s Going to Get Much Worse
– Democracy After Babel
– Reform Social Media
– Prepare the Next Generation
– Hope After Babel
the story i have told is bleak, and there is little evidence to suggest that America will return to some semblance of normalcy and stability in the next five or 10 years. Which side is going to become conciliatory? What is the likelihood that Congress will enact major reforms that strengthen democratic institutions or detoxify social media?
Yet when we look away from our dysfunctional federal government, disconnect from social media, and talk with our neighbors directly, things seem more hopeful. Most Americans in the More in Common report are members of the “exhausted majority,” which is tired of the fighting and is willing to listen to the other side and compromise. Most Americans now see that social media is having a negative impact on the country, and are becoming more aware of its damaging effects on children.
Will we do anything about it?
When Tocqueville toured the United States in the 1830s, he was impressed by the American habit of forming voluntary associations to fix local problems, rather than waiting for kings or nobles to act, as Europeans would do. That habit is still with us today. In recent years, Americans have started hundreds of groups and organizations dedicated to building trust and friendship across the political divide, including BridgeUSA, Braver Angels (on whose board I serve), and many others listed at BridgeAlliance.us. We cannot expect Congress and the tech companies to save us. We must change ourselves and our communities.
What would it be like to live in Babel in the days after its destruction? We know. It is a time of confusion and loss. But it is also a time to reflect, listen, and build.

Poland declines to take or pay for more COVID-19 vaccines for now
WARSAW, April 19 (Reuters) – Poland will not take or pay for more doses of COVID-19 vaccine under the European Union’s supply contract, its health minister said on Tuesday, setting the stage for a legal battle with manufacturers.
Poland, along with other EU members, has been receiving COVID-19 vaccines during the coronavirus pandemic under supply contracts agreed between the European Commission and vaccine makers such as BioNTech SE (22UAy.DE) and Pfizer (PFE.N) or Moderna (MRNA.O).
Poland’s biggest supplier is Pfizer. However, the country has seen lower vaccine uptake than most of the European Union and has surplus vaccine stock, part of which it has sold or donated to other countries. read more
“At the end of last week, we used the force majeure clause and informed both the European Commission and the main vaccine producer that we are refusing to take these vaccines at the moment and we are also refusing to pay,” health minister Adam Niedzielski told private broadcaster TVN24.

The move was prompted by the improving pandemic situation, as well as the costs linked to the Ukrainian refugee crisis, says health minister.

Strangely enough this year they arrived off the ice in late July and then seemed to disappear leaving us with almost no bear sightings especially at our Nanuk Lodge location. An aerial recon quickly located large groups (as many as 20 in a “gang”) of bears lounging on the beaches in a high state of lethargic non activity because they were simply TOO FAT to move!! That’s correct, too fat to bother wandering about looking for snacks (berries, grasses, birds, carrion) as the summer wore on. These bears went beyond healthy to being downright obese. In all our seasons here we’ve not seen bears in October/November in such extreme cases of healthful chubbiness. The bears were very happy our guests not so much, lol.
Further to this the moms and cubs observed this spring are in excellent shape even producing a set of triplets which we have not had for a while [apparently Wat’chee Lodge also observed a set of triplets near the Owl River…].
To summarize: no marked change in breakup and freeze-up dates over the last 40 years, dozens of bears too fat to move in the fall of 2021 and two triplet litters of cubs in March 2022.

Hello bloggers – I seek some electrical advice. For some time now, I have been trying to understand electrical load curves, as summarised by our own (Oz) AEMO at this link.
My question – what are the units reported? MW, MWh, or something else???
20
That’s a complicated summary. Normal load curves refer to the instantaneous demand at each point in the day and are thus MW not MWh.
But I’m not familiar with the details of the state by state calculations going on there with the code supplied in the top and the data coming in .xml on a weekly basis.

The True Origins of‘America First’
John Quincy Adams is the font of American geopolitical thought. Today, lesser men fail to grasp his teaching that alignment of interests among nations can only be creatures of time and circumstance.
What were America’s founders and their followers trying to foster and preserve by their conduct among nations? What were they trying to put first? Why did the Progressives turn away from these concerns? What did they put first? How dismissive were they of reality? What have been Progressivism’s effects on how America has fared among nations? How have changes in the world and in America itself made it impossible to continue on the Progressive’s course? How would John Quincy Adams and those following his principles manage America’s present international situation?
By what principles might today’s statesmen put America First?
In America, as everywhere else, a people’s choices and priorities reflect who they are. From the earliest settlements, Americans have thought themselves fortunate that they or their ancestors had distanced themselves from the rest of European civilization—and not just geographically. America was their final destination. They had not come on the way to anywhere else. Few went back. They left old quarrels and did not come to start new ones. They came because they expected America to be different, a nearly empty land where they would have peace, freedom, and the bread that their hands earned. And that is why Americans’ relations with foreigners were always premised on appreciation for what made America different. Putting America First meant more than natural self-interest. It meant putting a better, demonstrably different way of life first.

Merkel’s blunder was to forsake coal and nuclear power, replacing them with gas, wind and solar.

Abandoning coal, nuclear “a big mistake”
The “big mistake” of the Merkel governments, however, was to abandon nuclear and coal and replace the lost capacity with natural gas. The consequences of this can now be seen in the Ukraine war and Germany’s immense dependence on Russia. Therefore, he said, the German government urgently needs to “tell the truth” to the population that green energies alone announced in the coalition agreement can no longer function, at the latest due to the elimination of Nordstream 2.
It is obviously too early for that, but we will “get the truth about the security of the energy supply on the table, because this system is now becoming more unstable,” said Vahrenholt, who fears that we have “reached the end of the line” in terms of the push to green energies.

As an aside: Musk has revealed that the Twitter board owns a total of <3% of company stock with one member owning zero shares. They get a qtr mill/year to attend a few meetings. No wonder they are hostile to Musk who does not take director's fees. They know they would be out of a nice little earner.

One of the biggest unanswered questions of the “pandemic” is “why aren’t the people who didn’t get vaxxed or wear masks dying in their millions?”
If the rise in Myocarditis and other heart issues is unrelated to the vaxx then why aren’t the unvaxxed also showing an increase in cases? In fact the unvaxxed are showing no increases in cases at all.
More vaxxes = more cases…

Berlin municipality to ration drinking water
The water association Strausberg-Erkner (WSE) has already started rationing supplies. Initially, the limitations only applied to newcomers to the region; for them, water consumption in newly built houses is limited to 105 liters per person per day. If the quota is exceeded, fines are automatically due. But from 2025, this rule will be extended to all residents of the catchment area.
Ironically though:
However, some also blame Tesla’s newly built Giga factory, which is located in the catchment area of the WSE, for its extreme water consumption. For these, however, well, the permissible funding amounts have already been increased by the red-green state government. Different standards apply to “global player” Musk and the sacred cow e-mobility.
The Tesla factory is being built in an area rich in forests and lakes and in a water protection area. According to an EU directive – the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive – large investment projects require investments to be made with the least environmental impact. This test was not performed for the Tesla factory. So much for “green” concerns.
It is expected that “in the wake of Tesla” more companies will settle in the region, and with them significantly more people. In addition, the Bundeswehr data centre planned in Barnim and the Altlandsberg industrial estate will also need water in the future.
https://freewestmedia.com/2022/04/23/berlin-municipality-to-ration-drinking-water/
Maybe the vaxxes will “offset” population numbers to mitigate the water needs 😉

I was in Melbourne to pick up my son flying back in from his holiday in QLD – he and his partner caught Covid while up there so their 5 day break wound up being 12 days – sent off into isolation at Toowoomba. When I dropped them off at the airport – there were notices around about how the airport was now being run on solar by their own solar farm. When I went to pick up the kids, I sat outside watching the planes coming in, near their fancy solar farm, it was 10 pm and I looked at the solar farm and wondered to myself wheres the solar coming from right now to run the airport?
Before I went out to the airport, I caught up with a lady friend I hadn’t seen for a long time – Covid isolation/lockdowns etc. It was great to catch up but sometimes you know the rules about don’t talk, politics, religion etc, well add climate change to that list. Spoke about the upcoming elections and I said I’m putting greens last, she’s putting them first, she watches The Project.
Started discussing CC and she’s one of those that “believes” in CC. She asked me if I believe in CC. I said what is there to believe, it either is or isn’t happening? She asked did I think it was happening. I said possibly but the cause is not what they want you to believe, I said natural variation and that it’s based on an arbitrary global average temperature and who made the call that that global average was what Earths temperature is supposed to be?
Then she spoke about wind turbines, I said do you know how much power they actually generate” Told her only a third of their nameplate and that was pushing it. So she said put more up, I said where, she said “in the outback” I said that’s environmentally irresponsible, and what about the infrastructure to get the power back to where it’s needed? BTW- lives in Melbourne, Preston!
Then I mentioned solar panels and the thousands of acres they take up, I did get some acknowledgement that yeah that wasn’t ideal. The fact that solar is only really available from say 10-3.
So the answer, batteries. So I asked how many and how big a battery will we need, and at what cost?
She told me her sister had an EV, not sure what brand/model, and that when she did road trips to her mothers in the country that she had to stop for an hour halfway to recharge. As we walked back from dinner down the residential streets I noted all the cars parked along the street, no driveways. I asked how do we charge all these cars if they were all electric? You live an apartment and the car park in underneath the building, how are we to charge all of these? Would you like it if one of the electric vehicles caught fire?
It was all just too hard, everything she read, saw or was told by the MSM (the Project – really?) she never questioned. When I tried to discuss all these points rationally the end response was “I don’t do Science.” So I’ll just stick to taking movies, TV shows and music with her now, because its just too damn hard to do science with someone who doesn’t want to understand or take the time to actually question what they are being told!
90
Science is the problem and women are more illiterate than men, all the polls show it. Then there is the the maternal instinct, think of the grandchildren and the world we are leaving to them.
Don’t know how to turn this around and in the short term independent women may well end up gaining the balance of power.
33
“think of the grandchildren and the world we are leaving to them.”
If they were really doing that, they would be totally against all the massive waste of money on wind and solar, and be pushing hard for new reliable power supplies, preferable that also support the world’s plant life.
As things are going, and if the leftist/marxist globalists get their way, the world could be a very unhealthy, depressing place to live in for future generations.
The miserableness of renewables dominating the energy supply is already starting to be felt in UK and those parts of the EU that have gone down the W+S path.
Skyrocketing prices for an erratic electricity supply. Food shortages and spiraling costs due to lack of fuel for processing and transport.
It can only get worse under the present anti-CO2, anti-life, anti-West political climate.

Trump’s Truth Social Merges with Rumble Cloud – Prepares to Onboard Millions Quickly as Beta Testing FINALLY Wraps Up
After much anticipation and a few hiccups, the final rollout of Truth Social, Trump’s new social media platform, has completed all of its beta testing and is ready to go fully online very soon, according to CEO Devin Nunez.
In an appearance with Newsmax on Thursday, Nunez explained that people will be able to access the app in its full capacity “in the next few days.” Unfortunately, he did not provide a specific date, but the rollout is expected to be completed sometime next week.

‘Scare campaign’: Underlying health issues involved in 92 per cent of Aussie Covid deaths
Data from the ABS has revealed a stunning reality about Australia’s Covid-19 deaths, with Ben Fordham saying they expose an “overblown scare campaign”.
The statistics, released by the ABS on Tuesday, showed there were underlying health issues involved in 92 per cent of the 2639 deaths attributed to Covid-19 between March 2020 and January 31 this year. The underlying conditions ranged from pneumonia and kidney infection to chronic heart illnesses.
During the same period, 100,000 Australians died from cancer, 32,000 from heart disease, 30,000 from Alzheimers and dementia, and 10,000 from diabetes. The Covid-19 deaths, meanwhile, made up only one per cent of all fatalities nationwide.

Jim Jordan Urges CDC To Do A Natural Immunity Study And Compare It To The Vaccine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJE7Tc8YGsc
Congressman Jim Jordan expressed his desire for CDC to use some of its funding to figure out how effective natural immunity is as an alternative to a vaccine.
“The fact a study comparing antibodies to those produced by the vaccine and natural immunity hasn’t been done yet is rather concerning.”
“The fact that CDC has to be “urged” to do something as obvious as testing for natural immunity says everything about CDC”

No comment added by me ….
“At the Stuarts Well Roadhouse south of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway, owner Peter ‘Spud’ Murphy told the ABC that he installed a small three-phase power point there a few years ago because he believed it was ‘the way of the future’.
However, at Stuarts Well, it would take EV users about five hours to get 400 kilometres of driving range, a time frame few travellers would be willing to put up with. The fastest chargers in big cities can give the equivalent charge in about 20 minutes.
The roadhouse, like most remote service stations, currently creates its own power using diesel generators.

The saga of the lost wallet continues.
Today the bower bird brought me an envelope with the obligatory photos from our cruise some years ago. I have no idea where it was or even a memory that they existed but in the folder was a $50 note. I wondered if it might have been spoils from the lost wallet but it was a years old note.
Keen followers will remember that in the search for my wallet I found three bags of coin from my vending biz. I’m starting to believe that I am just TOO laid back.
This is certainly frustrating, but profitable. 😀
