The Secret Climate Election we didn’t know we had

The only way Climate elections are won is by keeping it a secret or telling lies. Today we wake up to find out it was a climate election. Who knew?

Australian Flag, Gif file.

There was not one word, barely, about climate change in the public square in Australia the last six weeks, yet today suddenly it was “a Green-slide” and a climate election post hoc. But the whole reason the Greeny-Teals did well was because no one talked about climate change.

No one asked how expensive it might be to alter the planet’s weather a hundred years from now? Should we fund hospitals now, or slow cyclones in 2100, ya’reckon?

Whenever it was a climate election in the last 12 years, the skeptical side won.

And the more skeptical they were, the bigger the win was. Tony Abbott won a landslide 90 seats by crushing the Climate Gods.  It was a Climate Election and the voters said “No”. To win in 2010 Julia Gillard had to lie “there will be no Carbon Tax”, and do 17 days of wheeling and dealing to barely scrape through.  In 2016 Turnbull was barely a skeptic and barely won — losing 14 seats in the process. In 2019 Morrison pulled off the Miracle Win by asking Bill Shorten hard questions about the costs of climate action, which Bill called dumb and a “charlatan’s argument”. That election was called a Climate Election they bragged,  and believers were shocked to lose. But this time, there was no policy debate. There was no “let them eat cake” moment.  No out-of-touch Bob Brown tour of the coal zones of Queensland. The climate bomb ticked quietly and no one said “boo”. No one, at least that the media couldn’t ignore. Vale! Craig Kelly.

The only climate battles were strategic quiet shots in the inner city Teal Seats between the Gucci wives and the Liberals who said “me too”. None of this played out in public and won the Liberals a single vote in battler-land.

Thus the Liberals ran chicken down the left lane on the freeway — in the same direction as the climate bully bandwagon — because they thought that the media wouldn’t hit them as hard, and it was true — but that didn’t help at all. It’s in the hate-filled fantasy rants of ideology when the winning “Deplorable” moments occur. The smug, lefty zeal looks ugly to the public, but it was never exposed. The punters didn’t get reminded of the elitist disdain for their electricity bills. Extremists didn’t glue themselves to footpaths or dance naked in the street shrieking. This was not an ugly, vitriolic election; it was a nothing campaign. But that just left a pinless vacuum the green fantasy balloon grew to fill.

The whole climate facade is built on feel-good branding and fashion, and the Libs just joined the advertising — as Matt Canavan says – we effectively legitimized the green agenda when we signed up for Net Zero.

Matt Canavan is a gem.

The Nationals though, in the partyroom that signed up to NetZero didn’t deserve to keep their seats. And if the media interviewed the minor parties in the country, they probably wouldn’t have.

We’re in an Information War. Shore up your lines of communication. Find a way!

If you are going to have to live through a lefty government and listen to all the climate change crap, use that as leverage to get nuclear going in Australia. How anyone goes off on the climate alarmist rant and does not support nuclear defies logic (I know that logic is not one of the lefts strengths). Verbally beat on them at every chance to show yet one more hypocrisy if they do not support nuclear. Lots of new reactor classes being investigated and some being demonstrated around the world with probably more on the way.

We don’t need nuclear power, its banned in every state and territory for good reason.

The purpose for which nuclear energy was banned was to hinder Western nations in the Cold War nuclear arms race.

        Science was not admitted.

I was here. I saw it happen. It was the Communists among us who whipped up the opposition to nuclear power.

Not a word of criticism about Soviet nuclear power until Chernobyl blew up, which terminated the Cold War.

Reagan’s sabre rattling had highlighted for all the futility of sabre rattling. But we are stuck with that cold war legislation.

Nuclear free zones were invented to hinder the US Navy. Neither confirm nor deny nuclear armaments locked them out of UnZud. All nuclear power stations currently in use are for producing weapons grade plutonium. MSRs do not produce Pu. Have been around since 50s, safer than houses. Small, modular MSRs produce electricity and industrial level heat. Heat for desalination or driving chem reactions or making steel.

So was I and there were no communists in Australia, it was the Three Mile Island accident (1979), and the SL-1 accident (1961).

Commentators on Sky News recently discussed the Communist far left factions in Australia, primarily the Greens and why many refer to the Greens as “Watermelons” – green outside pink/red inside hidden from outside general viewing.

Communist unionists were migrants during the British Colonial Government years after 1788 and campaigned for a Republic Australia instead of a Federation of States Commonwealth of Australia. They formed the Union Movement here and there are many accounts referring to Waterside Workers sabotaging the ADF via the wharves during war periods, even the Vietnam Wars 1960s.

In the 1950s Democratic Labor Party was formed after a split inside the Labor Party between the far left Communists and the centre left Labor MPs.

Research the history of Australian Greens established by Dr Bob Brown and the far left roots are exposed. Read the history of original Greens members and far left politics.

                Before I forget.

‘DEPUTY Opposition leader Julia Gillard said today she was not a communist and never had been.

‘But she said at the same time as she was a member of the group Socialist Forum, Treasurer Peter Costello was flirting with the Social Democrats, a group that also included socialists.’ (Daily Tele)

Julia Gillard formed the Socialist Forum when she was a university student union executive as a faction for far left believes: Communist, Stalinist, Trotskyites (Albo is a “Trot” and university student union days friend of Julia).

Apparently she was encouraged to form that faction by a mentor in the UK, also a Communist-Labour person.

She merged the Socialist Forum with the socialist Australian Fabian Society just before accepting the position of Deputy Leader to Labor Opposition Leader Rudd during 2006.

The Fabian Society based on Marxism was founded in England during the late 1800s, members included the late George Bernard Shaw a well known leftist at the time.

One of the Fabian Society sayings is: The Inevitably Of Gradualness”, it might not happen quickly, but it will happen.

The Australian Fabian Society was formed based on the UK Fabian Society and most if not all Labor MPs belong to it. And before somebody makes the claim that former PM John Howard is a member, not true, that member is John Howard a professional actor.

A colleague who was finishing an engineering subject at uni took nuclear engineering. One of the anti-nuclear activists asked to and was allowed to speak to the group. He agreed that nuclear power was safe, effective, efficient and cheap. But he implored that stopping ‘dehumanising’ industrialisation was what he was seeking allies for. It has always been a natureist fantasy that the days of frolicking through the forest were the best days of mankind. But they weren’t. The best days for mankind are shown in the modern west. We are about to surrender that for power blackouts, energy poverty, increased deaths from cold in winter as the less well off cannot afford heating, heck, even I’m having a challenge at my quarterly bill time; de-industrialisation and de-wealthing the economy. If we cut back petroleum and natural gas the feedstocks for the modern world will disappear…and so will the modern world, its medical and scientific advances, its engineering capability, its surpluses for welfare and charity. The modern world is all of a one; but 60s and 70s communist propaganda to the young, the rich and academics has paid off. Just check out life in Russia, minus the oil and fertiliser. That’s the lot we are heading towards.

            El Gordo,
Nuclear here banned because of accidents?
            Rubbish.
            Three Mile Island was 1959.
Australian policy then law dates from late 1960s, before any significant peaceful nuclear accidents.
I have investigated in depth for 50 years what the source was for Australia’s early banning and still have found no answer. You get so far down a line of inquiry then find it dries up to nothing. Library records no longer found, that sort of thing.
My tentative finding is that a large bribe was paid by an international actor to an Australian at the level of senior Minister or above and this has been diligently hidden by the few people who knew of it.

        What ‘good reason’?
Emotional ignorance about waste disposal is not logical reasoning.
Disposal problems for batteries, solar panels and windmills are serious concerns.

But coal usage means locating power stations near coal sources. If SMRs were used, they could be located around the country, close to where the power is needed, thus reducing the need/cost of long transmission lines.

You are right about our coal resources, but please consider the vast areas of Australia off the electricity grid where diesel fuelled generators are the source of off grid electricity for road houses, towns, mines, pastoral properties and even land council indigenous communities.

Perfect for a number of modular nuclear generators, as the Howard Coalition Government Inquiry recommended, before the Federal and State decision to ban nuclear energy but exempting the Sydney Lucas Heights reactor that produces radio isotopes for medical and commercial use and export.

Well, the Morrison Government Cabinet of Ministers were discussing nuclear power stations and in 2021 opened discussions with the UK Government and Rolls Royce UK based on RR developing modular nuclear generators, aesthetically pleasing design that would early blend into even a suburban setting, the UK Government has provided funding for research and development at RR and the Morrison Government was very keen to be involved.

Earlier the Morrison Government Cabinet agreed that nuclear generators needed to be considered, regardless of the Federal and State bans.

For people who are interested in following political events, and noting the the mostly left leaning partisan player media won’t tell us much if anything about developments voters might approve, and the then Opposition was not willing to provide bipartisan support, the Morrison Government interest in nuclear modular generators was quite well known. In fact Minister Taylor spoke often about the Morrison Government not having fixed ideas about electricity generation engineering solutions, coal fired power stations were on the list too, and as I have previously posted about they recommended or proposed 4 gas fired generators (1 each for VIC and SEQ and 2 for NSW) and 1 HELE coal fired power station for NTH QLD, subject to the essential approval from State Governments as they handle development applications and planning approval process and have primary responsibility for supplying electricity, and water.

You’re correct we don’t need nuclear because we have coal.

But I believe Glen’s point is that if the “lefty government” is going to transition away from coal then we need a reliable power source. The current renewable technology doesn’t provide that and we don’t have enough locations for hydro. So we’re left with nuclear. A climate alarmist doesn’t truly believe it’s an emergency if they don’t support nuclear, because it’s the only reliable alternative source of power generation that reduces CO2 emissions. They might not like the perceived risks of nuclear, but in a true emergency you take what you can get until technology allows for “better” options.

Very true JJDFB. No one voted their way into this mess, and no one is going to be voting their way out either. It is a comforting fairy tale to think that if only we could elect the Sensible Party instead of the Silly Party or the Very Silly Party, all our problems could be solved. But all the parties report to the private central banks, and the pharmaceutical companies, and the unelected world governments (UN etc.), under the umbrella of the bankrupt and foreclosed corporations doing business as national and state governments. They all operate under the fraudulent framework of admiralty law, forcing us to pay for our groceries with privately issued interest-bearing fiat currency, and none of them have any intention of fixing any of those fundamental flaws. But by all means, keep voting for one silly party or another… good luck!

The absence of major policy on anything from both parties was one of the reasons why there was a large swing towards independents. Not making a Net Zero commitment is not an option, as every other developed country has done so and Australia would otherwise end up being a trade embargoed pariah state. Most multinational investors, pension plans, and companies are also making commitments, so it will happen regardless. Australia is the poster child for what the rest of the world will be dealing with according to Prof. Mann. Net zero commitments will die a natural death as soon as electricity supplies start to become erratic and consistent blackouts start to occur.

There is only one reliable alternative to fossil fuels.. that is nuclear.

And the CONversation..LOL.. Last place you want to go for anything based on actual reality. It exists in its own little world of unicorn farts and pixie dust.

And of course.. as you continue to prove.. there is absolutely no reason to reduce the use of fossil fuels.. it is in fact rank stupidity.

CO2 is ONLY beneficial to life on Earth, there is no downside.. and it certainly doesn’t have any affect on the weather or climate.

Everything in our lives is based on the reliable access to fossil fuels , and only a monumental fool would want to cut their use.

Nonsense. That is the “scary story” they tell you but not the reality. President Trump removed his country from the Paris Accords and NOTHING BAD happened to his country as a result. (But the Elites punished him personally.)

Not making a Net Zero commitment is not an option, as every other developed country has done so and Australia would otherwise end up being a trade embargoed pariah state.

So, the problem you have, appears to be that Australia hasn’t done what other countries have done. No comments on what other countries have done, no comments on if what they have done is useful or not, just that they did, we didnt, we are bad. Useless argument to say the least.

Australia wont become a pariah state.
      – Look at Russia, they conduct “special military operations” in another country, causing untold misery and destruction yet, despite all the bluster and virtue signalling, countries are still buying their gas, and will continue to do so.
      – China has a track record of human rights abuses that should see it lose all trade with everyone, but it doesn’t.
      – Tesla still sells cars, despite about half of the cobalt needed for batteries coming from slave labour
      – People still demand more and more wind turbines, despite the hundreds of kilograms of rare earth elements per turbine coming from China via slave labour in Africa, and incredibly environmentally damaging factories.
      – People still demand cheap solar panels, again, mostly coming from highly polluting and inhumane working conditions in China.
      – Apple still sells iPhones despite the high suicide rates and terrible working conditions of their workforce in China
      – Bangladesh is a mass of deathtrap factories, pumping out textiles while not facing any repercussions for the hundreds, if not thousands of people killed.
      – Indonesia has a pretty terrible relationship with Australia, but they very happily buy our live export cattle, and gladly accept our military training.
      – Australia says it respects human rights, but continues to train Indonesian military, knowing that their tactics are being used against people in West Papua, amongst other places.
      – China hates Australia with a passion, but still buys our coal, and iron ore, amongst other things.
      Need I go on?

Do you really think countries will act against Australia in any meaningful way about the existential threat of “climate change”, when other countries are doing incredibly destructive, inhumane, and polluting things right now (all of it tangible, unlike the myth of measurable human impact on the climate), while facing no consequences?

If we truly used our resources: shale oil, uranium, coal, we would be the cheap energy powerhouse of the region, with a domestic nuclear engineering industry, dominate the entire south west pacific and defend ourselves with nuclear weapons. We would have sufficient for a local feedstock industry to rival Russia’s. But, we are intent on living up to the poor white trash prophesy, and bequeathing to our children a basket case nation of poor, stupid, and indolent sad sacks.

LOL.. so much for “global warming”

Did you know that after decades of catastrophic man-made global warming, Earth’s temperature is right at the 1979-2000 mean,

There is no Scientific basis for the concept that human origin CO2 causes Global Warming.

      It’s a political, manipulative construct.

CO2 of any origin does not cause increased atmospheric temperature; there is No mechanism; CO2 is just another atmospheric gas and remains in equilibrium with its surroundings.

No extra “heat” was produced during the writing of this post.

When, like Simon, you swallow a misleading story whole, you are described as being “Gullible”; in short, you have been “Gulled” and that’s a very embarrassing position to be left in when every true scientist can see your plight.

We see you and all the others who “believe” the unbelievable.

        CO2 of any origin does not cause increased atmospheric temperature; there is No mechanism;

Indeed! The Carbon dioxide theory of global warming is predicated on infra-red quanta absorbed by carbon dioxide molecules being directly converted into thermal motions of the molecules- which does not occur. There is no sharing of those energy quanta with any thermal mode of the molecule- it is simply re-radiated.

Carbon dioxide theory of global warming

You misstate the Radiative Greenhouse Global Warming Hypothesis, Leo.

I don’t think GGW deserves the title of a Theory. However the idea is that the quanta of radiation absorbed by the CO2 molecules are indeed re radiated and they return to the surface, where they are absorbed. That part of the hypothesis at least accords with quantum theory. It is simplistic and neglects other and more important mechanisms of surface heat loss.

“It’s a political, manipulative construct.” Perhaps you will explain your reasoning. Most political manipulative constructs benefit someone.

What are the political reason for wanting to cut CO2 emissions? Who gains? Who doesn’t? What is gained other than lower C02 emissions? Why have all the countries in the world, except Iran, Eritrea Libya and Yemen, signed the Paris Agreement?

What is being manipulated? Why is it being manipulated? Who is benefitting from these manipulations?

Humans rarely lose sight of self interest so why is so much effort being expended in reducing CO2 emissions? It is a fair bet that somewhere someone somehow is benefitting for reasons ther than lower CO2.

All this wailing and complaining about the pointlessness of CO2 reduction and its damaging effect on economies has no more impact outside of this site than the imprint left by a feather on a granite slab. All you’re doing is peeing in one another’s pockets. What’s the point?

          Data is being manipulated

          YOU have been manipulated.

You know you cannot find one tiny bit of scientific evidence that CO2 causes warming, yet still you “believe” in this pseudo science. WHY ??

Because the politics tells you to ? Because every other clueless fool “believes”….

There is certainly no scientific reason just “believe”. You are never a scientist.. just a follower.

Yes, a HUGE industry has been built around wasting money on useless renewable.. BILLIONS of dollars is at play.

Governments are being hounded into accepting this by some weird, backward, green agenda, and don’t have the intelligence to even question it. !

The huge funds behind this put enormous pressure on acceptance.

The impact will come once previous first world countries are reduced to 3rd world standards of electricity.

Then there are the various tyrannical governments around the world who seek to burgle by any means possible all in reach.

Then there are the would be such burglars in and about the governments of stable societies.

Then the vast numbers of poorly educated public servants and hangers on who ride on the various gravy trains that a “socialist” system maintains.

Their collective goal is to abolish private management of industry. e.g. the Victorian government’s crippling of thousands of small businesses with pointless lockdowns.

Finally come the people with too much money, who profit by investing in these various scams until they crash.

I pleaded with them to adopt a policy of negating net zero C by 2050 and to pull out of Paris agreement but they lacked the guts to be different and lovable.
It follows that we do not know if the voters rejected any particular major climate policy because nobody proposed one.
I do not know anyone in my circle of friends who favour net zero or Paris. At a guess, I reckon at least half the voting population is very uneasy about both of these and should have been given a chance to say so. Geoff S

We will soon see that the true agenda of the Elite leadership of the Left is not the environment (because CO2 does no harm) but the dimunition of our standard of living because they have long thought that the Australian and Western life style of living in general was “unsustainable”, a term you constantly keep hearing.

It all correlates with the objectives of The Great Reset (e.g. “you will own nothing and be happy”) , a concept of the Elites of the World Economic Forum, and which was supported by at least one Morrison minister, a student of Klaus Schwab, Greg Hunt.

Morrison had three years to learn about and teach the truth about the anthropogenic global warming fraud but failed to do so.

Whatever happened to him between the time he presented a lump of coal in Parliament as a good and desirable thing and him becoming a pseudo-Green? Who “got to him”?

He was a spineless leader who believed in nothing and fought for nothing.

He had an enormous opportunity to teach about the fraud but chose not to, thus committing Australia to economic disaster and committing his pretend conservative party to failure at the election.

Morrison was replaced with a PM and Party which are brainless and clueless but at least genuinely believe in whatever garbage they believe in (although still don’t understand that they are a slave army of the Elites).

David, you may not be aware but Australia is a democracy, not a totalitarian state. Scomo was the leader, carried the can, took the blame, but did not control things himself! He required the party and Nationals agreement on policies.
Both parties have too many of green persuasion to do anything meaningful.
I do agree that he did not lead the party well but he is not to blame for every wrong move by the party!
Look on the bright side. Labor most likely will bring on the round of rolling black outs before Liddell in NSW and Yallourn in Vic and are blown up after closing. They may then be restarted when reality bites them on the bum. One can hope or maybe I am too optimistic!

Throughout the world most nations of today have been lands controlled by earlier settlers and the origin of all modern humans is Africa.

So how far back in time should a national flag today reflect past history, and noting that Australian Aborigines were migrants and consisted of at least 250 seperate tribal groups and many languages and dialects spoken. I am very interested in the history and I have visited art galleries and museums all around Australia looking for historical information.

The new NT Liberal Senator is representative of Australians who have Indigenous ancestry and she is adamant that today we must be Australians together and not divisive splinter group minorities demanding recognition using rather pointless claims such as “First Nation”, there was no nation, there were tribes.

Of course we Australians should recognise the history and embrace the history as a record of the past but today we must all be Australians, which is why I believe that political multiculturalism, as compared to being a multi-cultural nation, is pointless as it tends to support tribalism. I support immigration subject to selecting carefully people with skills needed here and a work ethic, and most likely to assimilate. And assimilation is not recognising now ancient history of tribes that no longer exist.

As for a treaty between Australians based on a very small percentage of population and most of them of mixed ancestry today, another nonsensical proposal.

The left side of politics seems to embrace minority lobby groups and do not care about the majority.

Our connection is through the country that colonised this country and created Colonial Governments for British Colonies here, later to become a Federation of States forming the Commonwealth of Australia. But we the people have many origins, and that includes descendants of migrants who married Australian Aborigines, or had children with them.

*Not really a majority but the people who vote under the preferential voting system whose primary and preference votes decide the winner.

David I think for the most part it was the quiet Australian giving their first preference elsewhere other than lib , as is evidenced by the fact that 68% of Australia did not vote for Labor but I haven’t seen the lib first preference vote yet but I’d imagine it was also down . I believe the Nats did well though and there are very few Nats who have been spruiking climate change as an issue .

As most of us here already have been saying that’s been the push for some now. Next phase in the globalist agenda is to convince more people that we must act on climate change by relinquishing what’s left of our freedoms and rights. For example, our freedom to eat real meat. The freedom to drive fossil fuel cars. It’s coming. We just lost our chance at least to stall such draconian actions; actions that have nothing really to do with climate change and all to do with setting up a totalitarian style world governance linked to the UN, WHO, WEF, IMF, etc. We are moving towards the EU model where unelected people will make the decisions for us. Yet the EU model is falling apart as we speak. Funny how we keep going from one disaster to the next and never learning from our past mistakes. Although history is boring to most people, it’s invaluable to the survival of any civilisation. We are about to forget another lesson in history as quickly as it unfolds.

Yes, the UN/FAO is already pushing “insect protein” for the non-Elites.

I’d be willing to bet the Elites at climate change conference banquets won’t be eating fried cockroaches like they expect everyone else to eat.

As a candidate in Goldstein for the liberal Democrats I was actually disappointed I missed the opportunity to debate energy policy. I missed the one forum that took place organised by the Bayside Climate crisis action group. Unfortunately cause I knew with a name like that it would be a Zoefest with an audience stacked with activists and alarmists I chose not to put my head into the Lions den. Even though I was right in my assessment of the audience I was annoyed that I didn’t accept the offer because our policy of removing the ban on nuclear, removing all subsidies, removing all targets including net zero and let the market decide , is very powerful. Unfortunately the only other forum organised by a group of concerned citizens fell through because the major parties didn’t support it and neither did their supporters so I missed the opportunity to have my say.
What I found interesting was that the Teal vote was not really united around climate change although their volunteers would pretend otherwise but a uniform dislike and even hatred of Scott Morrison. I would estimate that perhaps 50-60 % of the electorate source their news from the ABC so this would’ve had a huge impact as to how they voted. Zoe had a team of 1400 volunteers who swamped all the other candidates for door knocking , manning booths, putting signage on houses, etc with an average age of about 75 and mostly women . I call them Zoe’s Grannies. In the same way as the Vic government coerced children to be vaccinated to prevent them from killing Grandma , the Teals convinced bored seniors into believing that if they don’t do more on climate change they would kill their grandchildren. It’s not the impact on themselves that is powerful but on those that they love. The actual policy , the cost, the strategy the how emissions cuts would occur was rarely discussed if at all.

Fascinating Zigmaster. That is useful on-the-ground information. I had no idea they had mustered up grandmothers to door-knock. This sort of tactical info is exactly what we need to figure out a response.

I can see why you skipped the Climate Crisis Group. Can I suggest next time we need to be prepared to attend those events (because they certainly won’t come to alternate events). Perhaps you go fully expecting to say nothing at all (because they will shout you down) — but wearing a message on your shirt, or carrying a few pre-printed signs. Carry info to hand out. Be 100% calm. We can outmaneuver them.

Zigmaster, I once was invited to give a talk on “climate change” to a group who seemed innocent enough and supposedly willing to learn. They were mainly retired “teachers”. You could not believe the rudeness and hostility of these people, even during the talk. I was quite shocked and upset for several days after that.

Yes I took some photos of the long queues at pre poll booths in Hampton and Gardenvale (both in the Goldstein electorate) – many more billboards and placards for the ‘teal independent’ Zoe Daniel than for the Liberal Tim Wilson. The booths were swamped with volunteers for the teals – I was greeted by a couple of older ladies at Hampton handing out how-to-vote cards for Zoe Daniel. I listened to their spiel on how she was a genuine independent and would be a voice for local issues in Parliament. Not a word on climate, renewables or Simon Holmes a Court. On the card itself it does mention Vote 1 for climate and a slogan ‘Same Isn’t Safe’. In addition you had left wing activist group GetUp handing out their own flyers urging a vote for Zoe Daniel, Green or Labor.

Over in Kooyong on polling day it was a similar story with saturation advertising for teal Monique Ryan – although it was matched there by ads to ‘Keep Josh’ by the Liberal Josh Frydenberg. On the back of Ryan’s HTV was a small piece on a 60% reduction in emissions that would have been ignored by your low information voter.

GetUp activist organisation has confirmed that they organised hundreds of paid “volunteers” to support the candidates masquerading as Independent, funded by Climate200.

GetUp was involved in the 2019 Federal Election “Independent” campaigns but only Steggall in Warringah succeeded in winning the seat, all of the others lost.

          52

          • #

Assuming this is correct, the candidate used getup to organise volunteers who willingly gave their time. So? Now you are complaining that people organise themselves.

Plus, none of those getup people forced anyone to vote their way.

            21

Paid to work “volunteers”, and in 2019 in Warringah a group of student aspiring models and actors from a Western Sydney school were hired to travel to Warringah to be workers, to wear teal or orange shirts and parade as young climate concerned people supporting Steggall, shirt colour changed as they attended Steggall or GetUp events in the electorate.

And Steggall campaigned as a candidate Abbott MP Liberal voters could trust, a “sensible right” candidate. Later her husband told a journalist who reported that his wife had never voted Liberal.

Of course nobody is forced to vote for any particular candidate, did I claim that people are forced?

But campaigning is managed and tactics developed to impress voters to vote for a particular candidate, like commercial sales and advertising sells goods and services to the general public, and if it didn’t work businesses would not spend tens of millions between them all advertising every year.

The perception of voters perception of voters: deceptive advertisements – I don’t hold a hose, not my job, for example. Words taken out of context to fool voters, add the questions answered and both comments make good sense. Hawaii family holiday, but no acknowledgement of the Deputy Prime Minister remaining on duty and other Cabinet Ministers. Vaccine mandate blamed on the PM but State imposed. Just some examples of how deceptive advertising is often used to fool unwary voters. I wonder how many Warringah voters thought the hired teenagers were really concerned climate kids and dod not realise they were paid to act?

Do your own research it was reported after the 2019 election and I saw a reference recently,

By the way, Outsiders on Sky News replayed the 2GB Radio interview when PM Morrison recently emphatically denied that the Government he led would sign the WHO pandemic treaty. When I mentioned this a couple of sceptics challenged me for a link. So go to Outsiders last Sunday or 2GB Radio website.

Rowan Dean of course was very critical when he claimed our PM was about to sign the treaty and Spectator Magazine also made a similar claim, so when Outsiders played the video yesterday I was reminded that we cannot believe everything presented to us, even by commentators we believe are conservative.

Forget policy. The Teal Greens simply launched an avalanche of niceness. And their droids were very well drilled.

Of course that is easier when you are an unknown. And a thought for the future is that it will be harder to persuade people they have been fooled by astroturf than to fool them in the first place.

        GetUp!….Paid and funded by Soros

Get Up Exposed! Who are they?

in LATEST UPDATES FROM THE SHOOTERS UNION CAMPAIGNERS, National, News November 6, 2018 0 6,286 Views
Are they independent, unaligned and grassroots, as they claim?
        GetUp says:

“The GetUp movement is powered by the values and hopes of everyday people. By combining the power of one million members, movement partners and a central team of expert strategists, we do whatever it takes to make an extraordinary impact. GetUp members come from every walk of life, coming together around a shared belief in fairness, compassion and courage. It is GetUp members who set our movement’s agenda on issues they care about, in the fields of Environmental Justice, Human Rights, Economic Fairness and Democratic Integrity. Our work is driven by values, not party politics”. GetUp is, and always has been an independent organisation. We are beholden to no-one, but each other, and our shared values
        We suggest that Get-Up! is:

Get-Up! Is a highly successful left-wing political pressure group. Employees (its payroll apparently is $4.6 million per year) are highly talented campaign writers who use the psychology of storytelling to create an emotional imperative in its supporters to act by “chipping in” cash, writing letters, sending emails, attending polling booths, demonstrating etc. Almost without fail, we suggest, that actions are directly or indirectly designed to boost the fortunes of Labor and the Greens and to damage the conservative or right-wing parties. Is this correct? We are on a discovery mission!
This is what we have uncovered so far!

GetUp claims they are independent – but from what and from whom? Let’s examine these claims in more detail.

GetUp only supported the progressive side of politics.

They, just like the Teals, are a left-wing activist group, pretending to be independent.

Get-Up was originally created 15 years ago by left wing co-founders Jeremy Heiman and David Madden, who also started Win- Back – Respect, MoveOn and Avaaz.

Some of their manipulation techniques (e.g. “storytelling”) come directly from Heiman’s Democrat-funded progressive group “Purpose”.

GetUp was bankrolled with over a million dollars from Billionaire Socialist George Soros, along with a ‘small’ donation of $100,000 from the Australian Workers Union (AWU) when Bill Shorten was President. (2)

Strange comment on the non attendance at the debate mate! Handle your campaign any way you want, all power to you, you put your hand up, but surely hitting ‘bored seniors’ with the actual facts is the point of standing as an alternative to a party masquerading as independents?

Simon B, I get your point. But do you support Zoe D and all the others continually knocking back invitations to debate climate issues at other events, and only appearing at events where the crowd is likely to be hostile to skeptics?

The left’s obsession with CC is now a danger to us all. As the world crumbles around us – because of their desire to stop FF energy production, you would think that he sight of people dying from starvation, would jolt them back into common sense. But alas, this is not the case and these deaths will become collateral damage to a cause that is driven by blind obsession with a dangerous ideology. In the USA the Biden admin is now telling farmers to take advantage of the fertiliser shortage and go green by using manure. This is a crazy statement after witnessing the outcome in Sri Lanka, but it’s even more bizarre when you consider manure won’t exist in their green vegan utopian world.

However, perhaps the biggest worry is that this all suddenly looks very intentional. With a global food shortage all governments will declare a state of emergency and suddenly the control of full blown authoritarianism will be forced upon us and in the absence of FF energy to restore global sanity, it will be permanent. Now with a hard left socialist regime here in Australia it’s not such a great feeling.

For a US Audience – ‘Greenslide’ in Oz Dumps Scott Morrison.

I’m queuing to vote. A middle-aged chap in a Kylea Tink tee-shirt approaches me. Do you know anything about Kylea Tink, he asks? Yes, I do, I say, she has insane climate policies. He reminds me of recent floods and bushfires. You mean like the ones we had in the nineteen thirties; I respond. Resignedly, he beats a retreat and moves on to the young couple standing behind me. More receptive ears. I wonder. How does a man of his age become completely delusional? Young things, OK. They know no better, and have been brainwashed on social media.

On reflection, judging by the overall election result, the weight of the voting population across all age groups has become delusional. A cultural degeneration, perhaps already in waiting, has been given impetus by “climate change” and Covid. Irony. Australia is one of the few countries to meet its Kyoto commitment. It has a covid death-rate one tenth that of the U.S. Unemployment has just fallen to 3.9 percent; its lowest level for fifty years. And yet…

Ms Tink, who won the seat by the way, was one of thirteen so-called “Teal” independents, opposing “moderates” (more correctly, wets), among the governing Liberal (conservative) and National (rural centre-right) parties. All in blue-ribbon inner-city seats. Backed by the son of a billionaire with interests in renewable energy, these well-heeled women, in well-heeled electorates, are climate activists. In each case their Liberal or National opponent scores more votes. But preference sharing among the Greens and Labor gets (as it stands) six of them elected. Oh, for first-past-the-post elections…

Incidentally, they and their supporters deceptively wear teal-coloured tee-shirts as a sign that they are a cross between green and Liberal blue; presumable to appeal to conservative-minded voters. In fact, they’re more aptly “watermelons.” Or a cross between green and red, which make an unattractive brown when mixed and wouldn’t do on shirts.

Unfortunately, we now have a Labor government committed to a 43 percent reduction in emissions by 2030, with up to twelve Greens and green-minded independents in the parliament who think much more ambitiously. They variously want something between sixty and seventy-five percent. Meanwhile the Liberals are tortured. Should they try to outbid the Teals next time to get those blue-ribbon seats back?

Hold on, there’s no outbidding the Teals. Should they then try for those working-class outer-suburban seats, which they’ve never won, by going back to traditional conservative values and common sense? A Trumpian strategy. Seems far fetched. There will be no path back for the Liberals, while “climate change” is the cause du jour.

Your second paragraph explains 90% of the malaise of the Australian people. Add that we haven’t had a recession in a quarter of a century and there’s a middle age group whose biggest issue was where are we going on our O/S holiday this year because the prices are ridiculous in Australia! Without a hint of any idea what economics is!

OldOzzie, we motivate the elderly to talk climate change by deriding and dismissing them and their knowledge in every other area. Remember they are going to die soon, and don’t care about leaving the world to their grandchildren. All their opinions about past weather or conditions are just selfish expressions of ignorance and guilt.

We create hate by blaming the boomers and feeding children with anti-older-people ideas. That paves the way. The only old people who are listened too are the ones parroting the regime.

Agism is everywhere, and sadly, many older people accept it, but every time they do, it makes their generation easier to manipulate.

“The Left now have an unspoken secret language.”

Here’s a take on the US Left’s use of language:

NY Mag: Democrats Fool Each Other with ‘Disinformation’ Excuses

Democrats invented the threat of “disinformation” to cope with the psychological pain of their 2016 defeat by Donald Trump, says a liberal New York magazine.

“Disinformation’ was the liberal Establishment’s traumatic reaction to the psychic wound of 2016,” Sam Adler-Bell wrote in New York Magazine‘s “Intelligencer” column.

But that “disinformation” diagnosis is also a problem for Democrats because it prevents them from recognizing how their political views are seen by ordinary Americans, he wrote on May 20.

The term “climate” was used as if everyone knew what it meant. That’s all the Teal lot had- “climate”. But I never heard one decent policy detail about “climate” by anyone. Certainly not the $ costings. So, if there’s trouble in the Senate or some legislation gets blocked or obstructed Labor and the Greens cant claim a mandate. In fact, in a lot of ways the LNP were no different to Labor in their emissions targets. All Labor have said is that Australia will become a renewable energy powerhouse (or something like that). What does that even mean? If you look at per capita spend on renewable we are already a renewable powerhouse.

Steve comments: “This will be a far-far left government that is either part of a trend or part of the highwater mark this madness will reach….I don’t think anyone in the US really gets it, in part, no doubt, because your media see nothing to complain about. But this is now part of the Biden-Trudeau-Ardern axis that is reaching further outwards. We live in such dark times and they are getting darker.”

There was not one word, barely, about climate change in the public square in Australia the last six weeks, yet today suddenly it was “a Green-slide” and a climate election post hoc. But the whole reason the Greeny-Teals did well was because no one talked about climate change…….

Sorry, but that is not true. !
To anyone paying attention, it was all about Climate Change….hence the Green and Teal resurgence.
What you probably meant to say was there was barely a effective comment from the Lib /Nats to counter the CC arguments….infact some of their candidates supported the CC /Net Zero, etc causes. !

It would have been so simple. All the Libs had to do was to call the Labs \ Greenies \ Warmies bluff. A put up or shut up moment. All they had to do, starting from 3 years ago, was to challenge them to create a town that is 100% fully off grid – off grid electricity generation via solar and wind, all electric vehicles, no external power, off grid water, off grid sewerage and off grid rubbish disposal. Completely self contained. Complying 100% with their ‘renewable’ and ‘sustainable’ criteria. Implement it and let’s have it running with plenty of publicity – let’s see how it goes. Show us how it’s done. Yet they were totally clueless and brainless to even do that.

Fuel poverty to hit British households, energy chief warns

The CEO of the world’s biggest electric utility service provider says London should step in to help Britons

The annual energy price cap is expected to rise as high as £3,000 ($3,748) as early as autumn, in comparison with the £1,277 ($1,595) that families were paying before April, according to Lewis, who said increasing Universal Credit payments would help people on the lowest incomes most affected by the crisis.

An Ipsos UK poll published by Sky News earlier this week revealed that 65% of Britons have refrained from turning on their heat in an effort to save money, and that one in four have even skipped meals.

Millions of households across the UK are facing the impact of an unprecedented rise in energy costs. The 54% increase in the energy price cap reportedly means a family using a typical amount of gas and electricity will now pay £1,971 ($2,462) a year.

That’s one way to wake people up. Same goes here in Australia – rocketing prices to bring home what they must reject at the next election; any party that still promotes climate change action, which at the moment are most of them including the two major ones. Whether that will change for the LNP remains to be seen. Far too early to tell.

We shouldn’t forget that Albanese 2022 achieved (?) a LOWER Labor vote than Shorten in 2019.
I think 2022 is the lowest Labor vote for at least 100 years.

Just to observe the bloody obvious for our overseas visitors to Jo’s blog.
In a first past the post (normal) election result Scott Morrison would still be the PM of Australia.
But Aussies have a preferential system of voting and some like it and some don’t.

Preferential voting was introduced Federally in 1918 because the Country Party split the conservative vote allowing Labor to get elected on a minority vote in a three party first past the post contest.

Jo I agree with most that you say here.
But I disagree with the abusing tone.

These people who believe they are saving the planet
Are our wives, our mothers, our sisters. Our daughters, our nieces, our female friends

    And …..
They really do believe that they have to ‘save’ the planet.
    It is an ‘femalist” ideology.
    A GREENIST ideology
And most of them are women
(Apart from a few male heroes, most of the blokes are mostly trying to impress the females as is normal for young blokes )

We know that this ideology is bunkum.
But we have had little success in opening their eyes to reality.
And in that the situation is no different to the Marxist/Leninist/Maoist ideology (ies ? ) of former generations.

So the main question remains :
How to effectively undermine & destroy
This unwavering faith in a bogus ideology ?

I suspect that the answer lies not just in presenting the evidence.
But also in dissolving the psychological barrier to seeing reality.

Greenists really do believe they are SAVING the planet.
That faith gives them PURPOSE in life.

It has replaced religion in the minds of women in Australia.

Calling these ‘believers’ names or abusing them will simply strengthen them in their belief.
They will respond by saying that the folk like us who do not ‘believe’ their Faith
Are abusive and should not be listened to.
        Ummm ??

I think it is far better
To treat these ‘believers’ in the same way we used to treat religious cranks.
        With laughter & amusement.

After all we all know that this attempt
To change the climate by going “Net Zero”

Weird that it is mainly men trying to fight this battle for the hearts and minds though, and then getting branded as misogynists. Where are the smart women, or are there none that fir that description. I think we are starting to see what the world will look like if women have the power, and it is unfortunately not looking good for western society, and the world because of that. This time Albo ran dead on ” Saving the Planet” but scraped into government
Courtesy of the votes of Greenist well heeled female professional women voting for Teal candidates
        And preferncing Albo after that.

We know that the trying to achieve “Net Zero”
Will have no impact on Australia’s climate – or the planet’s climate !
It will be an expensive failure.

Ross you are correct. Our teal, can for Cowper talked of climate action. But her supporters had no notion of policies beyond net zero. They had no idea of the depth and breadth of changes necessary to our lives and earnings necessary to achieve net zero. Their ignorance was astounding. Policies were platitudes. It was all the vibe. Nett Zero is a nothing burger.

CO2 from any source has no influence on atmospheric temperature.

If CO2 was replaced in the atmosphere by another gas, say Argon, there would be no temperature difference.

Coal shares on the ASX rose 2.2% today, the first trading day after Albo’s election.(calc’d from https://www.marketindex.com.au/commodities/coal weighted by mkt cap, ie. total $ change / total prev mkt cap). I haven’t done the same calc for nat gas companies https://www.marketindex.com.au/commodities/natural-gas but it looks like they are up too. PDN (uranium) is up 2.8%. The All Ords started strongly but ended up only 0.11%.

That’s encouraging. I think Albo may have a lot more trouble from the greens (almost all the ‘independents’ are green) than from the opposition. If Albo does a good job then he definitely will have a lot more trouble from the greens than from the opposition. I wish him well, and hope the opposition support him whenever it’s the right thing to do.

To break the grip of the Greens on the nation the entire concept of Anthropogenic Global Warming has to be turned on for debate in the public domain. The cancellation culture has to be confronted.

The concept that we are in the grips of people so damaging to our society, our economy, our freedoms and our national future is appalling. The theory after 50years has no proven basis but by destroying the scientific method we have been tipped under the wheels of the activist promoted oncoming train wreck. The entire facade around the matter wreaks of medieval threat, torture and witchcraft.

With the current disaster being faced in Europe as EU nations try to get away from Russian dependence for fossil fuels – which also is paying for the seeds of their national destruction – Australians seem to have no exposure to the matter playing out. The action in Europe, the Europeans via the UN even being the source of this destructive creed, seems totally beyond the grasp of our politicians, let alone the people. We chase the EU lemmings like dummies! How did we ever allow international bodies to control out thinking – and they want to repeat it via the WHO!

The crazy Europeans, those that sowed the seeds of their own destruction with this climate policy game, are now the ones saying Climate Change is a third order issue as they fight to find essential fossil fuel sources from anywhere to replace that they have to jettison, to keep the lights on. Our politicians show they are incapable of independent thought! Even now!

To fight it all now as we hit the precipice, we have to fight big business, big investor oligarchs that fund their own single interest ‘independents’ at our elections, big media, and national and international activists with other aims on their mind. Those aims see all those nations unconcerned (and unpunished) with the theory of climate, thriving at our expense and, as enemies, increasingly threatening to ourselves and our way of life. Our people see nothing of this! They just follow soapies which themselves are full of ‘Global Warming’ horors.

Our own government sees all the ff we export to other parts of the globe but their brains are impervious to the corollary. China is using and thriving with ffand no activist response. Australia is extensively vilified by such people, even with over reaching its promised CO2 reduction targets without destroying itself using EU designed methodologies. That is probably why Australia is so hated by the EU activists. It won’t destroy itself even under their guidance!

Those EU plans ‘against CO2, can be seen in action in the USA under the guidance of whatever marxists in the dark are pulling Biden’s strings. The USA as seen by its current disaster of prohibiting use of its own resources, has doubling and rising fuel costs, inflation at 8% and its debt being blown even higher with money printing. I believe the mad left in America is doing exactly what it has set out to do to all Western nations (only).

I don’t believe setting up a new political Party can work. This is makes a collection of minor Parties in our politically and internationally uneducated society which get nowhere except help throw out at least the more acceptable governance amongst the rest.

Our society drowns in climate propaganda from all sources from the cradle to the grave. The Liberal Party is a recognised major Party destroying itself. It seeks power by ignoring its own Charter of ideals and sells itself as what is really a left of centre socialist Party.

The elections results should surely shake it to its foundations, realising the chase left has made it redundant as it tossed aside its base that made it competitive. It’s leaders need to think long and hard re how to recapture that base, its conservatives. They have to fight socialism, not join it as they have been doing. They have to return to a right of centre position, open minds to Australian values for the individual, the freedoms and open discussion instead of treating us as just a socialist assembly of obedient serfs. They have to fight, call out the destructive left so empowered by the unproven climate ‘change’ story, and which is morphing into gender and racial theories that actually split society by the use of legalities to accept more of their weird doctrines. The Liberals have to have the courage to have all matters opened up to public debate for answers instead of accepting forced compliance as though we are Russians or Chinese. Australia is where it is due to its former freedoms. They must be restored or our governance becomes marxist the way we are headed. Science must be by the scientific method and debate. Not by unscientific declarations by government and others that they decide the facts. Debates must be public and open with protagonists charged to prove their beliefs; not have them dictated to us for political gain as is now the case.

If this doesn’t happen Australia will be as the USA within a year. The USA will be lucky to escape large scale social disruption via both sides of its politics if it doesn’t change course soon and remember only one side is subjected to the full force of the legal system and all its powers. Americans are just starting to find the going tough in a social atmosphere that’s increasingly brutal, resents freedom of speech and is against all who threaten the now overt marxist controllers behind Biden.

Americans are armed under a Constitution that foresaw such threats. They already have a history of a huge civil war to go back to. They need those midterm elections sooner rather than later to forestall such a disaster recurring under their enfeebled President.

Delusion has prevailed and that is the nature of democratic elections.

Unless China can develop a robust nuclear fission or fusion powered electricity supply system, it is certain they will be scouring the globe for fossil fuels before the end of the current century. Australia will be easy pickings; least effort for most gain. In fact, is there a better time than right now? Why would Biden risk US reputation as a military power trying to defend Australia against China. He surrendered in Afghanistan!

It is rather funny thinking that Australia could promise China all the “green” hydrogen they could ever need as an alternative to taking the coal, uranium and iron ore now in the ground. Somehow I think China has actually done the sums on this fantasy as well.

The MSM are saying the election result showed that people want action on climate change, diversity, etc.

    Reality:
    – Approximately two thirds of voters did not vote for the party that won.
    – If scomo’s mob had have fallen over the line, approximately two thirds of voters didn’t want them either.

I don’t see any resounding numbers that would cause the MSM or anyone else to be able to ascertain what issues decided the election. Quite the opposite in fact – nobody wanted the majors as they are ultimately the same as each other.

Our flawed voting system protects the majors (and helps them protect each other) to the extent that either (or both) of them will control government.

For the lovers of compulsory voting, I would argue this: If voting wasn’t compulsory – or more importantly, you weren’t fined for not voting – many morons that do not follow politics would be too lazy to vote. I would also argue that the majority of those people vote for lefties because they offer them the most “free stuff”.

Canavan mentioned yesterday that all National Party candidates held their seats, 15 years in a row now, which ironically says the people on the land that the inner city climate ‘experts’ never visit saw the Marxist rise. It can’t be ignored though that Canavan said the Nationals essentially agreed with the Liberals nett zero policy ‘to maintain coalition harmony’! That then also shows the sell out by representatives of constituents who are vehemently opposed to a climate change agenda!
There’s absolutely no doubt Jo is right that the ‘debates’ at national and electorate level being controlled by the media must end as they cherry pick those who have a voice in a democratic election!
There’s also no doubt the Liberals cared more for focus groups and are being advised – media, polling and otherwise – by woke graduates of Universities whose focus isn’t providing an environment for critical thinking but indoctrination in ‘key agendas’. That means even conservative backroomers have a focus on media and their opinion, rather than understanding in a ‘me too’ policy spiral those who believe only in that will win and as was the case in this election you vote OUT the pretenders trying to hold power, rather than elect the alternative.
We hear a lot about the great reset, but the writing was on the wall for a wet Liberal Party and this MUST provide a reset of conservative politicians reflecting their electorates, not sanctimonously declaring that the electorate has to get with the program and reflect the focus groups like Birmingham said on the weekend while he trashed one of his own endorsed candidates!

Reread what she wrote John. She is trying to claim that people on the rational side of politics also “fear” many of those people. Most of who she listed are naive and ignorant rather than to be feared as such although their ignorance is getting us in to serious trouble. For example, reading between the lines, she is trying to claim conservatives (the majority of readers here) “fear” women as in being misogynists, one of the standard Leftist insults for anyone they disagree with.

The Elites that profit from the unreliables scam are worthy of serious concern because of the enormous economic destruction caused by such things, plus their alliance with politicians, government officials and Big Pharma in other areas. I strongly recommend everyone read R.F.Kennedy Jr’s book about Fauci, no matter what side of politics you are on for more on that.

          SimonB

I fear them? No, I agree with free speech and freedom to vote your conscience. You may find that the conservative vote was split because the people voted with their conscience on whether the Libs had lost their way, lied to their base on nett zero & vaccine mandates and voted against them by voting for minor parties KNOWING the very real possibility was that the Lab/Teal alliance could get in.
Adults then accept the fact that the hard left will see it as a mandate FOR them, not a vote AGAINST the Liberals in fighting and Labor lite policies. Don’t mistake opposing and calling out stupid ill thought out policy for fear. The frustration for conservatives is the parties ‘representing’ them always attempt to appease those who don’t vote for them to uphold the democratic principal. The Left and especially the hard left as will now rule – as they do in Victoria – have no qualms of only representing their heartland (easier with a compliant cheerleading media).
So fear, no! The country got thru Whitlam and the 3 ring circus of Rudd/Gillard, so will come thru Albanese/Marles/Wong and in the meantime the conservatives will have to navel gaze as to what truly stand for – their voters, or a benign press treatment, because there are going to be massive problems after the recession that will be created by a party without any economic acumen and sadly no desire for economics in a fully social engineering party.

WMO: Four key climate change indicators broke records in 2021 – Past seven years have been the warmest seven years on record – “A dismal litany of humanity’s failure to tackle climate disruption”

The masses WANT to believe AGW is real because it’s psychologically reassuring to do so. ie we’re an advanced race so if we created the problem we can fix it, and therefore BE IN CONTROL of our future.
The fear, panic and belief in nonsense stem from a fear of NOT being in control of their destiny (Covid) hence their alignment with the climate crazies.
Bottom line – you won’t sway them despite the evidence and there’s sound psychology behind that.
Only when the ramification of the lies manifest in their own lives will they think twice (or just think).
eg travel restrictions, climate lockdowns, banning fossil-fuel cars, meat, bbq’s, pets, unreliable green energy, eating crickets etc.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he is “hopeful” of securing a majority – but confirmed a deal has been struck with crossbenchers before jetting off overseas.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has revealed that even without a Labor majority, it seems his government has got the backing of the existing crossbench. Anthony Albanese has revealed even if Labor does not reach the crucial 76 seat majority, he has held conversations with existing crossbenchers assuring him they won’t…
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said the existing lower house crossbenchers have given Labor confidence and supply as the party remains hopeful of holding a majority in the parliament.
Mr Albanese was sworn in as Australia’s 31st Prime Minister on Monday before holding a brief press conference at Parliament House.

The Prime Minister was immediately asked if he needed to enter a formal agreement with members of the new 16-strong cross bench as Labor had not yet secured a majority of 76 seats.

I think the greens control the balance of power in the senate now. So any notion of a ‘sensible Senate’ goes out the window.

I am concerned about what Andrew Bolt revealed recently on Bolt Report at Sky News, the proposed legislation by Zali Steggall of the Teal Party to create an independent and completely untouchable by Federal Government new Climate Office and Commissioner.

I have heard a couple of other Teal Party now MPs comment on being very much in favour of climate action as a top priority, Australia becoming a renewable energy superpower (same as PM Albo has commented) and supportive of the Steggall proposed legislation.

Andrew Bolt obtained a copy of the draft legislation and was horrified by the contents, but worst of all Climate Commissioner above all Government Cabinet Ministers who would be obliged to carry out his orders.

He made no mention of a deal. He received an assurance from returned independent sitting members (ie not greens) that they would not support no confidence or block supply, two things required for a government. He asked for nothing in return. It was a formality so that he could be sworn in and get on with the Quad.

“Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said the existing lower house crossbenchers have given Labor confidence and supply as the party remains hopeful of holding a majority in the parliament.”

That’s now, wait 2 or 3 years, remember Whitless got supply blocked towards November 1975, 3 years after winning power.

The Left claim science is about “consensus” which of course is inconsistent with the Scientific Method.

In any case, their claim that “97% of scientists believe in anthropogenic global warming” is a now-infamous fraud.

The majority opinion in science is not always right and numerous historical examples demonstrate that.

So too, the majority opinion in politics and elections is also not always correct although that is the system that we go by and people agree to in Australia’s democracy.

Our system, “democracy” is essentially mob rule. Without proper constraints on the power and spending of government we end up with the situation as expressed in the following quote, misattributed to Tytler.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

That’s why in the case of the US, the founding fathers conceived it as a constitutional republic with severe limitations on what the Government can do, hence what voters can vote themselves from the public treasury, rather than a mob rule of democracy. (Of course, it has strayed far from those ideals today.)

These points are discussed in this 10 minute video with Walter Williams.

Remember that Labor accused the Morrison Government of mishandling the China-CCP situation time and time again?

    Now this revelation, but I am very pleased regardless of past political rhetoric that PM Albo has spoken;

    ABC

Anthony Albanese has delivered his first message to China as prime minister – and it does not look good for Sino-Australian relations.

China took centre stage in the election campaigns of both parties, with the nation’s supposedly increased threat to national security repeatedly peddled.

And while Beijing had been hopeful Mr Albanese’s victory could lead to a change in direction for the badly-depleted relationship between the two countries, the Labor leader offered a frank assessment of its future.

“What I have said, and we maintain, is that the relationship with China will remain a difficult one,” he told reporters moments after being sworn in as Australia’s 31st prime minister.

“I said that before the election. That has not changed. It is China that has changed, not Australia and Australia should always stand up for our values and we will in a Government that I lead.”

      I don’t believe Alba-sleazy.

He will bring Australia to deep submission and obedience to China.

He and his party are more committed to the Chi-comm way of life than they are to Australia. Look how his comrade Dan Andrews had to be torn out of “Belt and Road” by the Fed’s.

How do we educate politicians about the madness of trying to move to 60% “renewables” by 2030?
The current makeup of NEM generation in the last 30 days:
    Average demand 23,700 MW
    Coal 60%
    Gas 9%
    Solar 9%
    Wind 12%
    Hydro 10%
That means on average “renewables” are currently providing 31% of electricity supplies.
A 60% renewable scenario by 2030 could be:
    Coal 30%
    Gas 10%
    Solar 20%
    Wind 30%
    Hydro 10%
Solar currently supplies 30% of demand in the middle of the day, but only 30% of that over each 24 hour period, average 9% of demand.
So to get to 20% solar average would require 65% supply during daylight hours.
But if wind is to deliver 30%, that would mean 95% wind/solar during the day, with just 5% gas, everything else shutdown.
That means every coal station would have to close down during daylight hours – completely unrealistic.
Now consider what happens at night:
    Solar 0%
    Hydro 20%
    Wind 30%
    Gas 20%
Coal 30% – unrealistic if shutdown during daylight hours – replace with more gas/diesel generators?
    Conclusion:
    1. More solar is completely impractical, unless backed up by massive batteries, at what cost?
    2. More wind is also impractical without massive storage to cope with variability in supply – on some days each month wind delivers only half its average.

But was it actually a free & fair election?

Steve Dickson and Rebecca Lloyd running for the Senate in Queensland uncovered some highly irregular practices by AEC officials. Numerous officials they and their staff spoke to by phone and in person about filling in the ballot paper told them many different stories but they all revolved around misinformation regarding the Independent candidates.

Information that may have been accidental, uninformed, questionable, or downright misleading. If it was misleading this is a federal offense and carries a jail sentence.

The AEC officials have stated not just in one seat but others as well that you could not vote for grouped independents above the line. Some even suggested these Independents had pulled out of the race, were leftover names on the ballot paper from a previous election, and other equally incorrect statements.

All this led to complaints being made to the AEC and the Australian Federal Police before the election. Potential charges under the Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 – Sect 330, False statements in relation to rolls and Commonwealth Electoral Act 1918 – Sect 329, Misleading or deceptive publications, etc. are being investigated at the time of publication of this article.

We have received multiple complaints numbering in the 1,000s of this information being told to voters on the day of the election despite the AEC stating they would send correct instructions to all polling officials.

Apart from all of the above, can it ever be a fair and free election when the taxpayer funded ABC consistently violates the law and shows extreme bias toward and in favour of the ALP/Greens and is openly hostile to the conservative side of politics?

ABC Charter makes it very clear that ABC employees must be impartial, bi-partisan, not supporters of any political party, or if they are supporters must not show bias when appearing on television, radio or other.

But the ABC Act of Parliament denies any Federal Government interference into ABC activities, role limited to appointment of Directors and Chair of the Board, they appoint the Managing Director.

And unless a government controls both Houses of Parliament directly or via supportive outside of party or government MPs there is no way ABC Act will change.

        21

        • #
          David Maddison

But the Charter is actually incorporated within the Act.

They have to obey the Act otherwise they are acting unlawfully.

Are you saying they are ungovernable and a law into themselves? If so, disband them and prosecute individuals who broke the law.

          • #

As I understand the ABC Act, as I posted above, no Federal Government can interfere in ABC operations and to close the ABC would require a majority vote in both Houses of Parliament.

Forcing the ABC to obey the law, and their own charter, is not interfering.

It’s a perfectly normal operation of any government to enforce the law.

The game has changed, I suppose if is now the question because on Radio 2GB Sydney, as replayed on Sky News Outsiders yesterday (Sunday) PM Morrison stated emphatically that the Government he leads now led will not sign the Treaty.

Rowan Dean was, I believe, in damage control because he and others including in The Spectator Magazine speculated that the Morrison Government intended to sign the treaty, from memory that claim was first made during 2021.

looks like there are legitimate doubts as to the legality of the election writs.

plus there have been reports about preferences not being counted. This may be the reason why:

“In 1998 there was an amendment to the Electoral Act via the Electoral and Referendum Amendment Act 1998, that on the face of it allows for preference votes (other than first preference votes) that in the opinion of the electoral officer can be used to preference the leading candidate most likely to be elected in that Division. This new amendment of 1998 allows for your vote to preference a candidate that was not the intention of the elector to occur.”

    see here

    21

    • #
      ShowsOn

      Um, no.

The 1998 amendments made it clear that if a voter repeats a number, then the vote is informal, e.g. a vote of 1, 2, 5, 6, 1, 4, 3 is informal because there is no way to determine the voter’s actual intention for the order of preferences.

It only takes 5 minutes of Googling to find the Gazette notice for the election writs:
      https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2022G00297

      • #
        DLK

        um, no.

        (1) here is the text if the amendment:

“(2A) If, in a House of Representatives election, there are more than 2
candidates for a Division, the Australian Electoral Officer for the State or
Territory that includes the Division must, in writing, direct the Assistant
Returning Officers for the Division also to count such preference votes (other
than first preference votes), on such of the ballot papers, as, in the opinion
of the Australian Electoral Officer, will provide an indication of which
candidate is most likely to be elected for the Division.

“(2B) An Assistant Returning Officer to whom a direction is given under
        subsection (2A) must:

        (a) count the preference votes in accordance with the direction; and

        (b) transmit to the Divisional Returning Officer any information required
by the direction; in the manner specified in the direction.”

which I was referring to in relation to observations such as this:

“I was a scrutineers. They didn’t count the 2nd Preferences and work their way down, like the marble video said our votes would. Once the votes were put into candidate piles, the freedom candidates were then references to labor or liberal. It didn’t matter if labor was 7 and liberal was 8.”

        (2) “It only takes 5 minutes of Googling to find the Gazette notice for the election writs”

well, congratulations, but that is already noted and evidenced at the link I posted: “Below is the government gazette evidencing writs were issued”.

the issues raised at link are (inter alia):
        1. were the writs issued by the GG? He witnessed them, he did not issue them.
        2. were all the writs correctly sealed. it would appear not.
        3. were the writs advertised as required by the act. it would appear not.

I found this today on Fakebook !”

    Wonderful !

I live in a Teal seat. All mu adult children who live at home, voted Teal for action on Climate Change & reducing carbon emissions.

I have embraced the result and instituted a new climate friendly regime from this morning.

All hot showers limited to 2 minutes to save on gas & electricity.

Internet access limited to 1 hour a day to save on gas &coal fired electricity

All access to fossil fuel powered cars has been ceased. They can use public transport.

I have instituted this immediately from this morning.

    They don’t seem very happy.

    I call them climate deniers.

    Have a nice day ! “

There is a strong arguments for electric drive trains in busses, taxis, delivery vans, garbage trucks, etc etc ,..in and around cities.
The technology is still developing, but that will happen quicker with more vehicles in use.
Power supply (electricity generation) will be forced to develop in parallel,..hopefully including Nuclear.
This is simply the progress of technology in a logical and benificial direction…….
……very different to the Solar, Wind / Coal, Gas, farce happening in the power generation industry.
