Cancel Culture bullies finally face some backlash

These small wins matter. Cancel Culture is about shutting people up — and even if it’s just a dumb joke being cancelled, the danger is that each minor win gives power to self-annointed Thought Police. The Grand Sacred Cows of our culture are created through a thousand irrelevant outrages.

Bill Maher, comedian, savages The Washington Post and Felecia Somnez and half the Millennial Gen:

For the Australians who missed it in our election week:

The Ministry of Truth was quietly axed in the US after just three outrageous weeks.

The New York Post Editorial Board, May 18th

Nina Jankowicz just quit and the Disinformation Governance Board is dead. It’s the best possible ending to a move that was demented from the start.

Whatever the Department of Homeland Security thought the DGB would do, the board’s ham-handed launch (and very name) could only feed the direst suspicions. The US government has no business determining what’s “disinformation” — certainly not via an Orwellian shadow department, housed within a national security agency.

Celebrate the wins.

Every win matters. It is a win if you open your mouth in some gathering and just quietly question some aspect of wokeness, people have been surprised when some people approach later and say “thanks for that, I agree with you.” The tone in the group was set by a tiny minority of loud and aggressive lefties.

Another good one at a school in Sydney where the pupils were told that there was going to be a transgender day and they should come in with a coloured ribbon. There were a lot of Chinese in the school and one of the mothers phoned around her compatriots and they all called the school and said their children would not attend that day.
It was cancelled. Probably a thought bubble floated by a single teacher, it just needed to be pricked by pushback.

With the energy crisis we have got a chance to make some wins because our ideas speak to the condition of people who are about to be slugged by big bills. No wind in WA at present LOL!

It will be interesting to see how the Canadian Bill C-11 will impact free speech there.

Let’s take those white droopy things out of our ears.
Let’s go for a walk in the Sun.
Let’s put our mobiles away as we walk and smile as we pass others on the path.

We intuitively know what’s right and wrong, so let’s demand that our leaders do the right thing by society.

One of them is Joe Fraud. The second, well maybe he’s standing near a mirror. How should I know if he doesn’t!

        Hi Forrest, a good question.

While out walking in the last year or so I have become aware of the “white projections” which are a more modern form of isolation from reality than the mobile phone.

They are apparently receivers for messages from somewhere and signal to other humans that the owner is either busy with important business or listening to music or podcast.

The strange thing is that this is happening right next to the ocean which is a great sound source in itself.

Many other walkers are looking at their mobiles while walking but have the less technically advanced wired earphones.

It seems funny that people go to this spot to walk but don’t have any interest in the fantastic views of beach, sounds of the surf, ocean and other walkers.

It may well be that these people are communicating with other friends and relatives and as one who has appreciated all forms of radio communication, past, present and emerging, it’s possible that when I get the time and money the buds will be calling.

I guess the main point is that by being more in touch with reality it gives some immunity to the “Cancel Culture” that is being pushed into everybody’s brains.
The next phase is to work out how to free people from this insidious domination.

Thanks. When I’m in a queue waiting on somebody wearing a headset I always wonder why they don’t install a flashing light to signal that the wearer is actually engaged in something and not just ignoring the people directly in front of them.

Yet there’s a deeper reason, I’m virtually sure, for Maher’s Democrat addiction. Many have noted how supercilious leftists can be, seemingly convinced of their own intellectual superiority despite obvious intellectual vacuity. They revel in mocking conservatives for being mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging, humorless scientific obscurantists. Maher has displayed this conceit, too, though in recent years it appears to have been tempered via exposure to conservatives whose scholarly heft he can’t deny (e.g., Ben Shapiro, whom Maher interviewed).

The idea is not dead, its just being rebadged.

The good news is, in another brilliant captains pick, this time Biden put Harris in charge. This should ensure it will go nowhere and dissolve into dysfunctional chaos.

Yep, in reality it was that god awful video clip of Nina J doing Gilbert and Sullivan that buried the Ministry of Disinformation.

…blanketing thousands of people across the company with repeated unsolicited emails and asking them to sign letters and fill out unsponsored surveys during the work day is not acceptable, goes against our documented handbook policy, and does not show the strong judgement needed to work in this very challenging space transportation sector. We performed an investigation and have terminated a number of employees involved.

watching Bill Mahers enlightenment is most enjoyable

Who knows how thorough it will be and exactly where the tipping point for his “cancellation” is – I love the anticipation of finding out.

    A true popcorn event.

This was a very popular post , based on the ratings.

In fairness to the Millenials, I think that we Boomers are partly responsible. We let the Left take control of the education system and abandoned Christianity, which left an moral vacuum.
Somehow the principles of the enlightenment were subverted.
Forfeiting the Culture Wars has had consequences.

I say beware of comedians (funny people) who make you laugh.
They can always turn things around on you . .

The British Government is going to keep us safe from disinformation and misinformation with an Online Safety Bill. It would keep us safe from information about UFO’s, Ghosts, Fairies, Ivermectin, Immigration, Dr Malone, Ned Nikolov and Karl Zeller, GB News and the rape of white girls in Yorkshire towns by Muslim men. Anyone violating the safe space of Members of Parliament will have a visit from the Police.
