Here we are after half a billion people caught Covid (that we know of) and now someone studies zinc tablets and mortality in a proper randomized trial?
It turns out zinc treatment reduced the length of Covid suffering by about 3 days and the people who took it were 40% less likely to die.
The thing we learn from this study is that yet again, publicly funded science is killing people because it is not studying the obvious, cheap, low risk solutions that can’t be patented. Ministers of Health are apparently Ministers for Pharmaceutical profits.
This is the scandal:
To our knowledge, this study is the first well-powered, placebo-controlled clinical trial to report results of zinc for the treatment of patients with COVID-19.
To summarize the background: We already knew zinc was useful against quite a few viruses and have known this since 1974. We also knew from another study that 6 out of 10 Covid patients were deficient in zinc, and those patients were more likely to die. Odds were that zinc would be useful, low cost and low risk, so… we waited two years and let a few million people die before someone, somewhere managed to do this obvious study with 400 patients.
The activity of zinc against infectious pathogens has been demonstrated in a variety of viral species [12–16]. However, there is very scant information available on the role and effect of zinc in coronavirus disease [17–21]. Jothimani et al [18] in a recently published study including 47 patients with COVID-19 demonstrated that zinc deficiency was present in more than half (57.4%) of their cohort and was associated with prolonged hospitalization and increased mortality compared with a control group. In 4 outpatients with COVID-19, Finzi [19] reported that treatment with zinc reduced disease symptoms within 24 hours.
In the meantime we ignored nutrients, food and exercise and spent billions of dollars on secret deals, carrying out mass experimentation with wildly new technologies and unknown risks instead. And we even did it on our children.
Basically people who took zinc were better off than those who didn’t
This applied to old folks, young people, early treatment, late treatment and either sex:
Zinc is used in over 300 enzymes and 1000 transcription factors (things we need to read our genes). It’s such an intrinsic part of us, fully 10% of all human proteins bind zinc. After iron, it is the second most common trace metal inside us and we carry about 2 – 4 grams of zinc within.
But the sad truth is people were using zinc in treatments nearly 2,000 years ago. Even the ancient Romans arguably knew more medicine than most Ministers of Health.
The oldest known pills were made of the zinc carbonates hydrozincite and smithsonite. The pills were used for sore eyes and were found aboard the Roman ship Relitto del Pozzino, wrecked in 140 BC.
And in case you were wondering, the modern Covid research was eventually done by a small African Pharmaceutical company.
“This work was supported by Opalia Recordati, Tunisia.”
They used a 25mg tablet twice a day for two weeks, which is a modest dose for a short time. It was their own brand, and presumably they want to sell more zinc tablets, so there is a conflict of interest. But unlike large western conglomerate pharmaceutical companies, perhaps they don’t have billion dollar patented anti-virals and vaccines to sell as well, so they aren’t worried that a cheap supplement will dent their most profitable products.
Despite the conflict of interest the results fit with other minor, smaller or imperfect studies on zinc that also show benefits in this order. For various reasons previous studies were usually too small, or retrospective, or studying a mixed bag of treatments, so hard to unpack. And the truth is, this study should be replicated with different doses and larger groups too, and it should have been done 30 years ago with other viruses already. How many man-years of productivity have we lost on influenza /RSV/ coronaviruses which might have been saved if zinc was used?
Why do we have publicly funded universities?
It is exactly this kind of “non-profit-making” research that taxpayers probably think our universities would be doing. Isn’t it time to advance science and stop funding universities? What is the point?

Some of the very earliest treatment protocols (e.g. Zelenko*) hit the nail on the head. Using an ionophore (such as chloroquine, quercetin or ivermectin) in combination with zinc, allowing zinc to enter the cell and thus interfere with viral replication.

Many treatments have side effects. Zinc can enhance the immune system but that was a problem for me with polymyalgia. The zinc made my problem of muscle pain worse. I had to up the dose of prednisone which depresses the immune system from going wild. I have read that some successful treatments for COVID (eg a doctor in South Africa who treated over 3000 patients with none going to hospital) use prednisone as one of 4 treatment medicines (including aspirin for those that have potential blood flow problems). Just make sure your GP knows what you are doing. BTW I was proscribed HCQ for my arthritis in Nov. 2022. I did not work. I am now onto my 5th medicine -Brenzys which I have to inject once per week.

Zelenko, not Zelensky!

Oh come on …
Just as Ivermectin is a horse deworming paste & you are not a horse
Zinc is used to galvanize metals and you are just not that precious
Sarc/off

Without a smile on my face I can 100% see some clueless politician or medical “authority” get up in Parliament, public inquiry or press conference and say “zinc is for galvanising metals, not for human consumption“.
That is, those that even know that zinc is used for corrosion protection of steel, most of them have high levels of cluelessness and little to no general knowledge.
560
…
and vitamin d is to enhance adventitious root formation in plants

Way back in BC when most houses had galvanised iron rainwater tanks – how much zinc supplement did we inadvertently get?
180
Probably plenty of Lead supplement as well.
20
I’ve been around some very vintage rain water tanks and I’ve never seen their solder go porous.
But I have seen them rust out when the zinc is removed from the inner surface of the galvanised iron.
60
As a roofer I used to frequently hold galvanised slate nails between the lips. (Never enough hands 😄). Never done me any harm 🤣
100
There are some dangers from zinc. Ask a welder
00
Now for HCQ, Ivernectin and Budesonide.
300
I think we might be waiting a while for HCQ and Ivermectin to finally get approved by our politicians – not until Big Pharma stops bribing them. Budesonide, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have incurred their wrath yet – it’s a key ingredient in the Symbicort inhaler that’s currently available (on prescription). Interestingly, this inhaler is a product of AstraZenica.
70
Ivermectin has been quietly approved for use on Covid-19 in more than half the states of USA!
(28 last time I looked)
380
Give “them” time Russell. The FDA/TGA will probably find some vague study completed in Mongolia that indicates some adverse side effects with Budenoside and the product will get pulled. A few weeks ago people were commenting that “Flo Travel” nasal spray was no longer been sold or that stocks were being withdrawn from sale by its supplier.
110
The purpose of the Federal Drug Administration is to make sure that patients are killed only by approved treatments, not by experimental ones. Don’t doubt that Pfizer’s motivation is a pure philanthropy. Record profits are only a happy side effect.
70
Totally agree Jo, but sadly, none of this helps if people won’t listen and decades of ‘programming’ by Big Pharma means that many, many people simply place 100% of the responsibility for their health in the hands of their GP and the pharma companies.
Consequently, I struggle to get these messages through to my own friends and family, including those back in the UK who stagger from one bout of Covid to another. In this, the authorities have been successful, casting even an enthusiastic proponent of something as innocuous as a vitamin supplement as a conspiracy nut. As a result, I can see eyes glaze over as soon as a mention such things, “Here he goes again.”
But I won’t give up. In matters such as this one has to wait till the ‘patient’ has their own epiphany, their eyes opened. Once open, they become aware that there is a whole lot of information out there which contradicts the accepted wisdom – and that many hitherto trustworthy figures DO NOT have their best interests at heart – the famous ‘Red Pill’ moment.
510
How true Steve. My niece is in her final year of medicince and came down with Covid…again…and she was offered my stash of Ivermectin. She rejected the offer instantly…about one picosecond to make the decision to knock back the horse dewormer. She has had at least three clot shots just to be able to remain in her studies at Uni. The TGA now control what Doctors think and do.
570
Glenn, maybe she’d read this: https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_app/health/ivermectin-is-safe-and-effective-the-evidence_4944960.html?utm_source=share-btn-copylink
Hopefully the link will work.
150
That’s the problem Bozo, she won’t even read it I’m sure. So many people are entrenched on the matter, thanks to billions of dollars in marketing/PR by the pharmas and the recipients of said largesse in governments and the medical profession.
230
Glenn. Ok, so your niece is not the full quid, despite studying medecine….after previously achieving a high entrance score at the HSC…..
But why should this be surprising since all those tens of thousands of already-qualified doctors are equally as clueless / cowards / evil…..
In 1930s Germany, the profession with the most members of the NSDAP by far was the medical profession. Doctors were 7 times as likely as most others to also join the SS.
BTW: A great book to read in “Arrowsmith” by Sinclair Lewis: written around the mid 1920s, you will be stunned to discover just how corrupt / uncaring/ self-centred etc etc Drs and scientists have always been!…..https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrowsmith_(novel).
Read the list of themes if you only have ten seconds to spare!
50
40 years in medicine and that’s my take on the profession as well.
Young GP’s are basically salespeople for Big Pharma.
They by and large can’t examine patients or make diagnoses, but are great at ordering tests and prescribing drugs.
They lack a basic ability to question.
They are essentially medical versions of climate and gender zealots with no ability to self-reflect.
350
Fortunately my doctor in his 30s is completely with me on the diabolical situation. He prescribed me Ivermectin when the ban was on and is very cynical of the profession these days.
Due to Dr Zelenko my wife and I have taken zinc and Quercetin and our covid infections were v mild. Ditto many friends who took the same protocol.
100
You’ve done well there.
Hang on to that one!
70
Prophet. Where I live there was no GP who agreed with the jabs. I know this from my own doc, and from people who attend / attended other GPs…
When a Covid19 vax clinic opened at the local hospital, it went “out of business” rather quickly since hardly anyone wanted to risk being killed just to be fashionable!
When the Faschos in Brisbane announced they would be introducing vax passports, the local Chamber of Commerce announced it would not be enforcing the Dictate on people patronising their businesses.
Woolworths and IGA had sign-in books at their doors but were not checking them to see whether Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Grumpy, Sleepy, Dopey etc really had enterred their premises or not.
After the Brissy faschos started with the 25 kl rule, the local cops made it clear they had no interest in chasing anyone who claimed they had to go to Townsville or Mackay for some implausible reason, but preferred chasing nutters who were committing actual crimes in town.
Got me beat why the further south ya go, the more limp-wristed pants-wetters there are, but going by the Victorian election way down south…it’s a real phenomenon. Why?
80
Good for you guys, down here in Brisbane we did have our share of mask and vax fanatics but most were easy to avoid if you were sensible.
00
Once again, the readers of JoNova were way ahead of the game.
I took supplements of Zinc, Quercetin and Vit D through the pandemic because I read about them here.
Thanks to Jo and commentators for the advice.
Now we know it was rational and well founded.
690
Yes, thanks to Jo and other contributors here, my wife and I have been taking Zinc supplements from very early on. We’ve had relatives, work colleagues and even co-inhabitants all multi jabbed catch the virus, but never caught it ourselves. Never been healthier than the past 3 years in fact.
Thank you all.
440
Same here, though I can’t claim to be particularly healthy ATM. First I had surgery for a bad sinus infection, then I broke a tooth which turned out to be impacted (almost two hours in the chair) and yesterday I had a (probably) cancerous mole cut out of my face. My face has taken a beating over recent months and this morning I look like I just went ten rounds with Tyson.
The mole thing really p1sses me off because I went to my GP about it five years ago, when it was tiny, and he cut it out and sent it for testing. It was clear. It came back a few months ago and, because I knew it wasn’t iffy, left it alone. Then it grew so I went to my new doctor who immediately acted, saying he believes it’s cancerous. He said previous doctor only sliced the surface off, hence the negative test. I now await the test results.
My faith in GPs has been wrecked over the past three years.
420
They’re all still in business because they bury their mistakes and are covered by the Insurance Industry and their Trade Union, which, by the way, was gung ho in pushing the vaxx and the carefully crafted associated tyrannies. Their distasteful spokesman in Queensland springs to mind.
180
The other problem is that in Australia, due to the very poor economic returns for GPs who bulk bill, many of those who continue as GPs are not at the top of the knowledge tree. In our area (west of Sydney) it takes up to two weeks to get an appointment with a local GP so a fairly simple problem like a urinary tract infection can develop into septicaemia in that time (it happened to me two weeks go) and an ambulance trip to hospital becomes a life saving necessity. This adds to the cost of the public health system.
130
I have been taking throughout and am still taking daily Vit D and zinc, I have Budesonide on the shelf just in case (not sure if it will be effective against later variants), and I have a formal exemption from further vaccinations (not sure how valuable that will be).
Health is now run by bureaucrats for bureaucrats, and it’s hard to see how we the people can ever get it fixed while our politicians are all so hidebound.
180
Same here Peter. Some of my friends who didn’t get vaxxed didn’t take the three and were clobbered by Clotto.
30
G’day Len,
I was afraid that was happening, as there was no decent advice coming any official or news sources to encourage self medication. Rather the opposite in fact.
So more thanks to Jo for her stories and allowance of open discussion.
Cheers
Dave B
70
There are several places where good information was available that didn’t simply scream the same message along with all the brainwashed, but you had to search them out. Thanks Jo for being a thinker, not a brainless believer.
70
Very interesting and I’ve known that over half the population have low zinc counts.
Just checked my daily multi-vitamin tablet and Zinc ( zinc oxide) is 1.5 mg.
So their dose of 2 times a day of 25 mg makes my multi vitamin dose look very puny.
Anyone have any ideas or advice for an uneducated elderly male?
80
G’day Neville,
I’ve been taking one Swisse Zinc+ tablet each day since we discovered the Zelenko protocol a couple of years back. Each contains 25 mg of “zinc ( from zinc amino acid chelate)” – those words from the label. I’m still alive, and am not aware of any adverse reaction.
Their label warns against taking an excess of vitamin A of which tablet contains 375 micrograms. That’s one to watch.
I opted to take just one tablet per day as a blood test showed I was in the low end of acceptable and I only wanted to maintain that level rather than build it up higher.
And don’t forget the ionophore – I use quercetin, although HCQ or IVM would be preferable as I understand it.
Cheers
Dave B
200
Thanks very much David.
60
Since people will now be panic buying zinc supplements, one should know what to buy.
It comes in around 6 different forms, from zinc oxide (ie topical sunblock, which has the lowest bioavailability (absorption)) to time release products.
For most people, zinc chelate (chelated means it’s bound to another compound to increase absorption) is the desired choice.
You are advised to check the label, as a lot of supplements aren’t chelated.
Chelated forms include gluconate (you’ll most likely see this one), picolinate, citrate, orotate and acetate.
For flus and colds, go for the acetate variety.
Zinc sulfate is to be avoided as it has the lowest bioavailability.
Also, get outside as much as possible.😎
60
Thanks JC II,
Sounds like I got lucky. I hadn’t gone into it as deeply as you have.
On the going outside, I agree in general, but have one reservation. I like the fresh air, and the removal from crowded room. I also think that direct sunlight can clobber the virus. But I can’t get enough sun to get my vitamin D high enough – I’m targeting 200 nmol/L – as I need to be covered from head to toe as protection against various paddock nasties when I’m outside. Hence my dependence on vitamin D3 supplements. I’m on 8000 IU per day currently.
Cheers
Dave B

Zinc acetate is indeed the best for lozenges (which load up the zinc into throat and mouth cells). But it’s hard to get. I ended up just sucking on zinc gluconate tablets, which tasted pretty ordinary, and were supposed to be swallowed — but the disadvantage with tasty lozenges was all the sweetners added. The gluconate was apparently the second best absorption. I would now repeat this for any “sore throat” type disease for a few days. Otherwise I’ve been taking 50mg Zn for a year.
The thing to watch with long term dosing of zinc at 30mg – 50mg is that it might reduce your copper levels. Keep an eye on blood tests.
If you are at risk of kidney stones the zinc citrate might be a better bet. I was just reading how citrate is good to neutralize the oxalates in food that might increase the risk of kidney stones.
80
This had occurred to me too. 👍 I tried just sucking the zinc tablets that were supposed to be swallowed. Sucking the powdered Quercetin capsules being taken as a zinc ionophore was less effective though. 😄
10
John Connor said “Zinc sulfate is to be avoided as it has the lowest bioavailability.” That is frankly BS John. All the soluble zinc salts including zinc sulphate, citrate, acetate are fully ionised when dissolved in water and so would be absorbed at similar rates. Take orally (eg 15mg of Zn (zinc) as ZnSO4)in a glass of water 30 minutes before eating. Chelated zinc is the least bioavailable, contrary to the marketing advice of health food companies. Taking zinc with food is inefficiently absorbed though it is bioavailable from red meats better than any other foods. Most other fibrous foods contain differing levels of phytates that, in the gut, chelate or complex the zinc significantly making it bio-unavailable. Particularly wholemeal bread and peanut products do this.
How do I know this? 30 years ago, I was put onto ZnSO4 in water as a Zn supplement by a “good” doctor and it raised my Zn levels dramatically. Before that, on chelated Zn products (taken with food), for years, I struggled to ever get my blood zinc levels up into the “normal” range which is below the optimal range in any case. My background is in science/chemistry and I work in a health science area.
Over the years I have privately researched zinc in health and I’m appalled at the arrogant disregard that health bureaucrats have shown for the importance of zinc in wound healing, recovery from surgery and resistance to viral infections – even though there are published scientific papers to support this. Full credit to Jo for her articles on zinc related to Covid.
ps As people get older their Zn levels gradually decline. Could this be a major factor in the greater vulnerability of old people to Covid?
ps If you have prostate problems remember that the prostate has the greatest concentration of Zn of any body organ. It’s there for a reason. Take Zn supplements and improve the blood circulation of the prostate by doing thigh stretches (from the hip) every day.
30
I presume SO4 may have some advantages all on its own, but I have not bothered to investigate. I’m just wondering if it’s a useful source of sulfur? Strange secondary effects might mean that you were deficient in sulfur and the different form of zinc solved that for you allowing you to absorb zinc better. I don’t know. This is off the top of my head…
Dang medical research is always confounded by 30 variables.
20
Nutritional advice has been that best absorption of sulphur is from an organic form of sulphur, as in food (eg egg yolk), rather than inorganic ionic sulphates.
10
Make sure you check the analysis of other tablets you take –
e.g Blackmores Macuvision Zinc oxide 40 mg
00
That’s the same as me … 25mg Zinc per day with a handful of other trace metals.
Better not on an empty stomach, take it right before a meal.

I used the FLCCC protocol when I came down with Covid treating the symptoms with 0.4mg/kg which in my case worked out as 1.7g of horse dewormer. I was amazed to wake up the next morning and all the symptoms had gone in less than 24hrs. I had 2 more doses left in the tube so took them over the next 2 days and was then testing clear of Covid.
60
“Zinc ( zinc oxide) is 1.5 mg.”
The multi-tablet I have claims Zinc is 11 mg and 100% of the suggested daily intake. Also, the label says Zinc oxide.
1.5 would seem to be low.
The ionophore – quercetin – is available in many foods, such as Red Onions. These I grow, and still have some I harvested 4+ months ago. I might have to get them at a store about the end of February.
40
I believe for covid treatment or prophylaxis the usual suggestion for zinc is the equivalent per day of 50mg elemental zinc. 1.5mg of zinc oxide would be less than 1.5mg elemental zinc.
10
Without universities who would do the research to show why 30 years of ‘global warming’ and record levels of CO2 caused Sydney to go a whole year without reaching 32 degrees.
420
I see that nurse educator Dr John Campbell has again run afoul of YouTube’s Coronavirus commenting obstacle course. He has been required to remove a video posted 4 days ago which reported findings of a very recent US study of 51011 working-aged Cleveland Clinic employees now published in preprint.
The summary of the findings reported the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine booster was 30% effective in preventing infection, during the time when the virus strains dominant in the community were represented in the vaccine.
Campbell’s attention was not focussed on this main finding however, but on its minor finding about the risk of COVID-19 based on prior infection and vaccination history.
The preprint of the study can be viewed or downloaded from the Preprint Server for Health Sciences
140
I believe this is the video YouTube censored:
https://rumble.com/v23x33u-more-vaccines-causes-more-infections.html
Very disappointing. I was under the impression that YouTube had slightly eased its censorship recently.
60
I love his dry put-downs with a straight face. “I am sure the medicines agencies … are scrambling to replicate these findings as we speak … Or not!” Brilliant.
10
That finding is mirrored exactly by the data produced by the NSW department of health
https://covidlive.com.au/nsw
Scroll down to find numbers in hospital by vaccination status, week ending 31 Dec 2022.
I have been following this site for some months. The figures get worse for vaccinated people week after week.
The NSW dept of health will no longer report the hospitalisation figures ( with Covid) in 2023 because the association can be confusing apparently.
80
When NSW Health were reporting hospitalisations, the weekly reports implied that once hospitalised, the vaccinated were more likely to be admitted to an ICU, and more likely to die than the unvaccinated.
40
And how about Vitamin D while we are at it.
110
Vitamin D for Den!er 😃 Haven’t seen the sun for nigh on a week, and with this ‘Palm Tree Express’ drizzling down from Fiji & Tonga, it’s going to be another week before Oh Great Mighty Sun, Giver (and taker) Of Life, reappears above these rain-drenched shores. [There was a drought this time last year, now it’s a flood: you just know what they’re blaming it on].
The woman I drive for, and her man (both in their 50s) and most of their contractors, were some of the first to ‘roll their sleeves up’ two years ago: they’ve all gone down with Covert-1984 (some twice) and her man is now having ‘problems’ with his leg. When I suggested getting checked for clots, oh my, the vitriol & name-calling erupted. Methinks the mRNA concoction destroys the human sense of humour as well as the immune system.
It feels like I’m an oppressed minority – who can I apply to for victim recompense?
330
“When I suggested getting checked for clots, oh my, the vitriol & name-calling erupted.”
We know a couple where the wife constantly complains that she suffers from marital thrombosis. Claims she is married to a clot
70
Imagine if instead of dangerous, untested and deadly covid “vaccines” they mailed a bottle of zinc, a zinc ionophore such as IVM, HCQ or quercertin, Vitamin D, among a few other supplements to everyone?
Few would have died and we would have avoided massive economic and social destruction and there would be no lockups.
But that was not part of the plan.
The plan was an assault on freedom and Western Civilisation in general.
370
Also, think how much cheaper that would have all been.
110
Also, just imagine if we had ready access to Ziverdo kits?
50
why not David? they did it with great effects in India
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO9cjy3Rydc
but we here in Australia already had this with the Borody triple therapy protocol apparently
but the TGA would not allow it
70
Uttar Pradesh did things like that which would preclude us smart westerners from following!
80
It has been a gigantic Sh!t test all along fellow readers.
Zinc is incredibly CHEAP.
It is an essential nutrient for MALE genitalia growth (ahaha testosterone is trending down).
A rich source is RED MEAT (no you gnaw on grasshopper or better still VEGan out).
In my former life I recommended strepsils Zinc & Vit C (but funny enough they stopped making the ONLY ONE THAT WORKED against the common cold)
So there we have Despot Dan and his dopy sidekick Slugger Sutton detailing the minutiae of contact tracing for hours daily for months on end… and suddenly Oops 40% test positive for the ‘Rona once the jabs are rolled out. AND we will never get an apology (as the cost would bankrupt the state).
Seeing a pattern anyone?
300
From late 2020 husband and I have been taking Zinc, VitD3, VitC, supplements daily. We are unvaccinated. Husband contracted mild dose of Covid some 8 months ago & I contracted also mild dose 2 months ago. On those occasions we further supplemented with Quercetin.
190
Vicki, according to the late Dr Zelenko you need the Quercetin (or another zinc ionophore) for the zinc to work properly. He used to say the zinc is the bullet and the quercetin is the gun.
161
Quercetin is a plant pigment (flavonoid). It’s found in many plants and foods, such as red wine, onions, green tea, apples, and berries.
I think the “red” is important, such as with the wine. I use red onions, and red apples. [Sorry, AU Granny Smith lovers.]
101
Hence the research finding:
Front. Nutr., 03 January 2022
Sec. Nutritional Epidemiology
https://doi.org/10.3389/fnut.2021.772700
60
Ross – I was also warned by a friend who is qualified in drug and pharmaceutical regimes, that Quercetin should not be taken every day as a prophylactic – but only when needed.
50
Did your friend say why?
40
This message has been given about three times before here before by Vicki. Each time there is the same response /question, Why?
As an interim answer I propose that taking Quercetin up to 1,000mg per day split into 2 or 3 doses is safe over the long term. I have no relevant qualifications but form opinion based on Quercetin being a common ingredient in fruit and vegetables.
20
The Quercetin I take is in a form that is combined with Bromelain. It contains 600mg of Quercetin and 3.6 million PU per tablet. I take one pd and have done for over 2 years. This was stepped up to two pd while having a bout of the dreaded Covid, which I caught from my husband who could only have caught it from ‘fully vaxxed’ people (and he had become very cold from sitting outside at some meeting with them). It certainly wasn’t anything like as bad as the ‘flu I had in 2017 and the worst was over pretty quickly.
The brand I have is BioCeuticals’ ‘Quercetain’ for the Quercetin/Bromelain mix.
20
Apples are particularly high in Quercetin. You know what they say: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
20
Incidentally, when my GP noted the high level of VitD3 in my blood count – & I explained that I take supplements, she said (very quickly, but in a very low voice): “Don’t stop!”
I believe GPs have been warned not to recommend ANY treatment or prophylactic other than the Covid “vaccines”. It is criminal and will eventually irrecoverably damage trust in the medical profession.
I am still aghast at the initial recommendation not to take any treatment other than Paracetomol if you have Covid. And only to seek medical attention if you have difficulty breathing! At least they could have recommended aspirin to inhibit the inflammation that Covid often develops in the vascular system. But no….
210
My late Father’s G.P. gave the opposite response. He had prescribed 1000 U Vit D in the webster pack. I sent a care package that included 5000 U Vit D. I explained the reason Dad had a Vit D level at the “Top of the range -125) and he wanted to go back to 1000 U. A few months later Dad passed from a Fall with intracranial bleeds which left him intubated in ICU. He survived ICU only to be put in a COVID ward of Royal Perth Hospital. So he got nosocomial covid. The coroner still has not determined his final cause of death, but it is safe to say Dad passed With covid rather than From Covid. My Father was an incredible patient- after 20 days (9 in ICU) of hospitalisation he was put on Morphine and Midazolam with his NG and oxygen withheld. I swore BLue when a consultant suggested Dad start remdesivir! The bottom line was Dad had end stage heart failure before the fall with a 3 month prognosis so to pass with palliation was a blessing. The nosocomial COVID caused Dad some distress though.

Vicki,
[In the USA] Without proper double-blind studies targeting a specific illness, VitD3 is not put on the list of things to stop Covid19 or other viruses.
However, my “doctor” {physician’s assistant -certified}, when I asked, told me not to take over 5,000 units per day without testing for the blood level. She thought it a good idea.
If some symptoms suggest to them, they might prescribe a very high initial dose (50,000) for a short period and then back off to below 5,000.
Suggesting it as a prophylactic for Covid19 is not going to happen — so it seems to me.

The “vaccines” were approved without proper double-blind studies. Some treatments, it seems, are more equal than others.
100
There were differences, of course.
The “vaccines” were developed for a purpose.
Not to standards, perhaps, but the idea was clear.
That is, a substance was designed to disrupt a virus.
Did you ever hear someone (your mother?) say “Eat an apple a day and keep the doctor away.”
That may be true, but your doctor won’t say “Eat an apple a day and you won’t get Covid.”
Replace “apple” with “Vitamin D3”.

Sadly, it’s probably not an accident that vitamin and mineral supplements are rubbished by the medical associations. Think of how it would affect profit margins if, for example, a ten cent supplement reduced inflammation, arthritis, or blood pressure… we are talking billions of dollars in ongoing subsidized payments for products which would have a smaller market should doctors and the public start using nutrients that reduced these conditions by say, 20% or 40%.
Big Pharma firms would be failing their shareholders if they did not do their best to arrange sympathetic “regulatory” committees, and dissuaded universities from teaching their medical students more detailed biochemistry of nutrition.

Vitamin D was distributed to elderly in Scotland and Ireland from about early 2021 but only at the miniscule 400 IU dose. Not enough to make a difference in cases that could have really benefited, as the regime for deficiency is a high loading dose over several weeks.

The same happened at my mother’s care home but she also had the blighted jabs. On our visit before her death she plaintively asked why she was becoming ill when she’d had the vaccines. We couldn’t answer her as she was so frail. The trouble is that my siblings all went along with the jabfest and were all planning their 4th lot. I despair of the way so many highly intelligent people were persuaded to do this. Indeed, earlier on, my retired medico sister tried to tell me I should have it. No way was I prepared to have it.

Just been reading ” A plague upon our house” by Dr Scott Atlas. He was the bloke who the Trump admin hired as an advisor during the first year of COVID (2020). It’s a not bad read (a little repetitive) and Scott certainly tried to be ” scientific” and challenge the mantra of lockdowns. testing, masking. He butted heads with Fauci and Birx a lot over just basic science. The overall impression you get from reading the book is SA’s relative naivety. That Redfied/Fauci/Birx appeared intent on extending the COVID crisis until those “magic” vaccines arrived. There was an agenda going on and the likes of Atlas were not going to interfere with its progress. The great vaccine experiment could not be postponed. Needless to say, no-one in the White House COVID task forces ever discussed sensible things like Vitamin D supplementation or Zinc. Trump himself tried with the whole HCQ thing and look what happened there. It’s not all hindsight either, all these basics ( like Zinc and HCQ/ IVM/Quercetin being ionophores) were all known and had been known for decades. I have even read some discussion that certain antibiotics could be Zinc ionophores. We know AB’s were routinely prescribed by GP’s for that stubborn virus infection for decades. How’s the scorecard going for those magic silver bullet vaccines? I’d give them a 3 out of 10 at this stage. Certainly a massive fail.
70
Ross, the score card for the vaccines in -10. The whole exercise began with illegal gain of function research (Fauci) with a fake “Vaccine” (Fauci was CEO of Moderna0 lauded that turned out to be thousands of times more dangerous than previous vaccines, and the effect of which acted as a CATALYST for infection (the opposite of what was advertised as “safe and effective”. Society at this point is well and truly broken.

Yes Simon couldn’t agree more, singing to the choir here mate.

I wish that people would take one more piece of wisdom to heart regarding Covid:
If you can grab hold of any fat around your waistline, start losing weight.
That’s probably the single most effective thing to do to make Covid into a bad cold.
110
One of the main take-aways during this whole COVID episode (for me) is that Western society in general is not in good health. In general, the population is too fat. (there, I said it)
150
I still remember when I was a kid, and seeing a fat person was a real ‘novelty’. Mum and dad would have to tell us to “stop staring”. But now, these unhealthy people are glorified for being proud of their bodies.
Western society is definitely well in decline.

Yes, it’s call the “fat acceptance movement”.

There’s been one of those meme type trends on social media lately. People have been posting photos of beach and community pool scenes from the 1970’s ( and before ). Everyone is skinny in the photos. Perhaps in the past we fat shamed more people and they were reluctant to go out? Now, obese people appear as features in those lifestyle magazines and Nike ads. [snip]

Nothing specifically Jo, just adding a thought to the fat comments posted previously.

I’m trying to remember where first I heard of Zinc & Quercetin, plus Vitamin D3.
Hmm? Come on Brain?
Oh. Now I remember. It was on the Jo Nova blog in March of 2020. Amazing. 🧑🎄

Jo had a remarkable piece on Ivermectin and where and how it worked. There have been bits of knowledge added to that, but still it was very good.

Apologies if this has been posted before but, if so, like all good things it bears repeating.
This researcher has the “receipts” to show the whole pandemic traces back to the US DOD.
It all starts at 36 minutes on this Redacted video. I have no reason to disbelieve her.
https://rumble.com/v241u4q-breaking-new-documents-show-the-cover-up-is-even-worse-than-we-thought-reda.html
31
She explains that DOD had contracts that covered every aspect of manufacture & delivery of the vaccines, and they controlled the contracts that gave the whole supply chain indemnity.
So does that add credence to the theory that the Yanks developed Covid19 as a bioweapon to affect the Chinese and released it there during the Army Games?
They had already found that the Asian Flu affected Asians far more seriously due to the different sugar components in their cell membranes.
20
It is looking more and more like the DoD was behind the whole lot including a ready-made mRNA vaccine to roll out. Moderna was funded by them and the manufacture of the “vaccines” has been held under tight control by them.
20
Universities study this, LOL, centers of wokeness.

Does anyone know if hospitals give zinc to covud patients?

Here is an article on the zinc pills found in the 2000 year old Roman shipwreck Jo mentioned.

Proudly not vaccinated and have not had covid, or at least not had it seriously enough to notice anything. Rather than taking zinc tablets my approach was to check that the foods i eat contain plenty. The theory being that it would be better digested from healthy food like lamb than from pills.
Perhaps my logic is too simple but it would seem this three day shortening would inturn have shortened the time that people were infectious, reducing the whole pandemic. If the whole population had been encouraged to keep zinc and vitamin D levels up and similar simple steps, would the reply to “learn to live with it” have been learn to live with what?
Antiviral of choice has been Neem oil (Azadirachta Indica), applied topically to to the soles of my feet.
“And in comparison, the blind docking results for Remdesivir and HydroxyCholoroquine were
–13.1 and –9.3 kcal/mol and their inhibition constants Ki at 25C (298K) were 255pM and
155nM whereas Meliacinanhydride inhibition constant Ki at 25C was 33.36pM (Picomolar)”
“Nearly 20+ compounds in Neem leaves extract exhibit high binding
affinity with some of them as high as -14.3 kcal/mol against COVID19 Main Protease (Mpro) : A Molecular Docking Study”

A short concise, banned by the media, explanation of what happened from reading intelligence reports released to the public in America and India: The Coronavirus SARS‑CoV‑2 developed in Wuhan may have failed as a viral disease, but is a synthetic spike protein chimera engineered to attach to human ACE2 receptors. It causes an allergic reaction in mature immune systems called a cytokine storm, an allergic reaction to fragments of spike protein. It’s why children with an immature immune system are not effected. The only protection that the mRNA jab gives you from Covid, is by suppressing your immune system to protect you from the allergic reaction. The Virus has not been isolated. As Viruses are not alive they don’t seem to ever have been isolated or cause disease. The gain of function of SARS-CoV-2 seems to involve finding something about the virus that causes an allergic reaction by the immune system. The immune system releases cytokines to fight parasites, or in this case fragments of spike protein. Ivermectin helps to reduce the cytokines that are produced by the body. Ivermectin alters the function of T-helper lymphocytes, regulating the process of excess cytokines. The Coronavirus SARS‑CoV‑2 developed in Wuhan was funded by the American taxpayer: https://www.ecohealthalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Opportunities-for-Enhanced-Defense-Military-and-Security-Sector-Engagement-in-Global-Health-Security.pdf

Here is the official Australian Government view on the matter.
They are trying to kill us with their lies.

Politicians:
They lie
We know that they lie
They know that we know that they lie, but
They still lie.

I find the mantra that HCQ causes arrhythmias and leading onto cardiac arrests particularly egregious. The risk is for people with long QT syndrome and then it is very low. There are many drugs, some over the counter, that have been blamed for having the same effect. In one study, designed to discredit HCQ, overdoses were given in an attempt to deliberately cause harm but failed to do so.
There has been criminal intent by many under the spell of Fauci, the FDA, the WEF and the WHO and they should face justice.

Interestingly, Australian soils have something of a reputation for being quite low in Zinc.
Australian agricultural and horticultural publications sometimes contain information on how to “rough-test” soils by looking at odd “symptoms on plants; “leaf discolouration”, etc..
“Dosing” the vegetable patch with traces of zinc and other minerals is discussed in several “home gardening” books of my acquaintance.
We are “born” of the planet and FEED on things that grow in the soils and other things that EAT what grows in those soils. Second and third-hand nutrients. Anyone found a better way. yet?
See here for a quickie on the roles of Zinc and Manganese:

Had an elderly relative carted off to hospital just before Christmas. “Chest pains”.
Official diagnosis? Myocarditis. Fully jabbed. Mid eighties. Tough old cookie: Home and gardening a couple of days ago.

Nice one. Mind you, the Global Warming isn’t so obvious in Brisbane these days.

As I understand that last average temperature chart, the temperatures recorded include the effects of all GHGs plus all other gases composing the ‘normal’ atmosphere. Without those gases presumably the daily temperature fluctuations minimum-maximum would be huge – not that it would worry us because humanity as we know it and most of the respiring biosystems on earth would not exist without CO2, even if we could survive temperature extremes. What would be the effect of no GHGs? The miniscule-to-invisible grey zone invisible on the chart, is that the effect of added GHGs or is it saying that represents GHGs in total?
I guess the question of this climate science illiterate is, Can it be said that GHGs in their current ppm and ppb concentrations are essential to having the relatively benign temperatures of the globe and are an essential part of the system in which life has developed. As CO2 concentrations are falling over 200m years, I guess our disappearance is also written in stone.

So way back when the COVID thing started there was some crockpot Froggy doctor who claimed he was curing it with hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, and zinc, but that misinformation was soon squashed. How are we going to make a few $$$ from that?
10
Since we are into anecdotal evidence here, I will add my own experience.
I had the two jabs plus one booster but refused the fourth for fear of compounding the risks. I have taken from 1000 to 2000 units of vitamin D for years.
I recently came down with covid19 ( two positive tests.)
The symptoms were a very runny nose and a profound weakness for one day that continued at a lesser degree. After a week I was basically fine with little respiratory involvement. Most common colds are much worse.
BTW, I am 80 years old and I live in Canada with low exposure to sunshine for several months per year.
