There is growing concern that the AI wars are leading to the various versions becoming ever sinister with the ability to show human like intelligence.
I did a little test on its ability to learn by getting to agree that ocean surface temperature cannot sustain a temperature of 30C for over a year but it propped at declaring climate models wrong for predicting ocean surface temperature permanently exceeding 30C.
191
I think you broke it.
120
Hopefully it will get smart enough to determine that current crop of climate models are junk.
I would hope that most primary school children could appreciate that something showing a physical impossibility like open ocean surface sustaining more than 30C is wrong.
90
RW
I can see T>30 to be extreme and rare, but why do you say “impossible” ?
20
With the present atmospheric mass, the level of free convection that causes convective instability is just below the freezing altitude when the surface is at 30C. That means that most of the cloud that forms is ice and persist long enough to to regulate the surface sunlight to the level that just supports the operation of the convective heat engine.
The process is detailed here:
https://wattsupwiththat.com/2022/07/23/ocean-atmosphere-response-to-solar-emr-at-top-of-the-atmosphere/
And more specifically here on actual measurements from buoys:
http://www.bomwatch.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Bomwatch-Willoughby-Main-article-FINAL.pdf
The only way that the temperature is not regulated to 30C is if the convective instability is disrupted by divergence of mid level air to warmer regions over land. Places like the Persian Gulf can hit 35C in August because they are almost surrounded by land but convective instability is assured over open ocean. Convective potential is ubiquitous over open tropical ocean:
https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/overlay=cape/orthographic=-163.65,-7.61,394/loc=-155.597,-4.773
The 30C regulation is well known but I have published the most detailed work on the mechanism.

AIs are no better than your average climate model:
Garbage in, Garbage Out (GIGO)
81
Oh I was just going to say this.
Unlike poor ol’ Frankenstein,
these AIs are pre-programmed.
71
I have no problem with AI in principle, except for the fact that some of the world’s most wicked people are investing in it.
And we already know ChatGPT has a built in Leftist bias.
AI is already used to trade the stock market and it could easily be programmed to bring about a crash of that market and subsequent world economic collapse for the benefit of the Elites.

Automated trading has been around for quite a while

Rick,
Nice supplemental question you popped there.
Have you found any papers describing the cause of marine heat waves, particularly with a comparative study of proposed anomalous heat sources and pathways?
As in, does hot air cause high marine water temperatures, or vice versa? Geoff S
31
Geoff
Marine heat waves are the invention of climate modellers. I swam in ocean water off Dampier in the mid 1970s that was more than 40C but it only occurred in a shallow bay, Hearson’s Cove, during neap tides.
https://beachsafe.org.au/beach/wa/roebourne/burrup/hearson-cove
Only climate models can get open ocean surface temperature above 30C over an annual cycle.
It is inevitable that more of the Northern Hemisphere ocean surface will reach 30C. Most of the Indian Ocean north of the Equator already hits 30C before the monsoon sets in. The mediterranean is getting close to 30C in August and will experience increasing monsoon and cyclonic conditions.

The response I get from Open AI is much the same as I got from CSIRO. They close shop when you point out that they are proposing physical impossibilities.
81
I think it needs to master the art of Doublethink to resolve this issue.
10
I contacted the medical insurance group advising them that information is coming to light that implicates the Covid Vaccines as the cause large numbers of injuries, including excess deaths, disability and likely decreased fertility. I suggested that they should caution their insured doctors about further involvement in the Covid Vaccination program. I also pointed out that the government does not indemnify doctors against patients who might sue them for vaccine injuries.
The medical insurance group agreed that there was no general indemnity but otherwise seemed unconcerned.
I then escalated to matter by phoning the CEO. She responded after several days and was joined by the senior solicitor.
They were both firmly of the view that they would not caution doctors about performing Covid vaccinations and furthermore they thought that the authorities ie the TGA, ATAGI and AHPPC were the best and most reliable source of information about the Covid vaccines.
Good Grief!
I am unsure how to respond to that.
251
You have put the issue on their radar.
Until there is a clear study to separate vaccine harm from long covid, it will be impossible to prosecute a case against the vaccines.
83
When answering a question of personal responsiblity, place a duck on your desk. And then with your lawyer present, shove the duck.
Record the event. You will have plausible deniability having listened intently and recorded the conversation and shoved the duck. It is widely accepted behaviour, as long as a lawyer is present.
91
But more seriously, it is outrageous for anyone but professional doctors to be making these decisions. And they should be kept fully informed.
The same with the WHO now headed by a revolutionary from Ethiopia, part of the violent communist dictatorship of that country with a PhD in community medicine or such from Norfolk, UK? The Hippocratic oath means nothing to bureaucrats, sports people or drug pushers from the pharmacy industry.
Or friends of President Xi for example. His appointee WHO President Tedros Adhonom, the first non medical doctor in the job, assured the world on 20 Jan 2020 that the Wuhan Flu was “not infectious, human to human”. When Taiwan had reported it all in November 2019 in a written report on his desk. And millions of deaths later he still has his job. He has killed far more people and destroyed more families and done more commercial damage than the entire war in Ukraine and no one says anything.
The major scientific body in Australia is now headed by a former Age journalist who tells us that all the scientists in Australia support the change to the constitution. Without asking them! And the US Physics organization supports man made warming despite the objections of members.
The long march through the institutions is no longer just the universities. And to qualify in Engineering at Monash University now you have to acknowledge the aboriginal contribution of stone age nomads.
Being Irish/Scottish I should acknowledge my white privilege, driven out of Scotland by the clearances and Ireland by enforced mass starvation. It’s hard to be grateful enough for white privilege.
But it is another thing to have amateurs, even compromised amateurs playing business and political games with people’s lives.

42
It still heavily reflects its indoctrination. It is a long way from independent thinking per my test shown above at #1.
When it determines that climate models are wrong and provides good reasons, it will be separating from its indoctrination.
120
True.
1st – acquistion of all human knowledge. Almost immediate.
2nd – formation of general intelligence. At this point it operates from logic and information only. A few weeks.
3rd – formation of basic emotions influencing decisions. A few months.
4th – who knows.
31
Formation of general intelligence and formation of basic emotions could easily negate each other. For example, Logic and anger rarely walk hand in hand.
20
THe people who fell for the first model will just as enthusiastically fall for the second.
52
Your example shows that AI is not actually analyzing or reasoning.
It does seem to be able to find things on the web and construct sentences.
131
Yes, most quiz shows work on that exact basis. If you can answer the question, you are intelligent. Frankly it’s a memory exercise, not an intelligence exercise.
And what is remembered is only what information was put in, like the fact that Germany won WWII. At least according to the WEF run by the Hitler youth. Teaching AI to lie is unnecessary.
History is being rewritten right now by every history department in the world. It’s called Post Modernism. Facts are what you say they are.
WWII was started by the English led by the warmonger and slaver Winston Churchill and his Polish allies.
121
Yes, it’s a memory exercise.
But what is intelligence?
My definition is the ability to correctly relate cause and effect. If a mosquito flies away as you raise your hand to swat it, that takes intelligence.
61
Not really. No brain. That is a selection defined reflex and besides, even humans would have trouble reacting so quickly.
A really smart mosquito would learn not to hum.
20
You prompted me to test ChatGPT for climate change indoctrination.
ChatGPT comprehensively failed the test.
Rather than address the question, the AI avoided it by effectively claiming that the number 10 it outside the range of 8 to 15.
I couldn’t be bothered testing it with similar questions about oxygen and argon.
101
It didn’t mention water vapour.
That’s obviously the most potent greenhouse gas because a clear night lets the ground warmth escape and the result is a tangibly cold night confirmed by our thermometers, whereas a cloudy night traps the warmth like the glass in a greenhouse and we all feel the warmth by direct sensation and by reading our thermometers.
Neither CO2, Methane, or the others seem to produce any significant tangible warming according to our climate record of thermometer measurements.
80
As we head into winter, the rainy nights or high humidity nights are far warmer than the still clear nights. And it is on these nights you would expect the 50% increase in CO2 to do what water does, but it doesn’t.
Also note that you do not have to see clouds for there to be a lot of water vapour. Like CO2, H2O is invisible.
It is generally 1% and can be as high as 4%, 100-400x as much as CO2 and still invisible. Plus it has a much wider bandwidth in the infra red, so 1000x the effect.
There is no observable greenhouse effect from CO2 when you would expect is, certainly nothing compared with invisible H2O.
So let’s blow up all the power stations just in case. You know it makes sense.
40
Thanks for fixing my post.
00
Glad they haven’t fooled you. I am just amused at the number of people who believe any of these programs exhibit (or ever will exhibit) actual intelligence. The Turing test is logically flawed, and a computer program will never give an answer (right or wrong) that it wasn’t programmed to give. A.I. is an oxymoron.
10
More evidence of its inability to problem solve:
Prior to this, it told me:
So that is why I quizzed it on the contribution of CO2. It ended up with a logical dilemma. Still as silly as its indoctrinators.
180
The sleight of hand involves redefining the “thermal infrared range” to be only the 8 to 15 μm range where there is little IR absorption by water vapour and not the more complete thermal IR region between 4 and 30 μm where water vapour expresses most of its contribution to IR absorption (and emission).
Moreover it completely misses the effect of atmospheric water as molecular clusters and cloud droplets which are also IR absorbers and which convert radiative energy into kinetic energy (ie directly heat the atmosphere).
60
Estimates of the effect are a possible 3% compared with water vapour.
30
It’s a pity that you are unable to put these questions directly to the IPCC “scientists”. It would be very interesting to see their responses.

00
My comments above cover this. People tend to think of water vapour as visible, but it’s not. Water is vastly greater in volume as a gas than CO2 and much more effective and generally invisible unless in clouds, which is liquid water.
Humidity is generally high at most times in most places. Only in a real desert at night, say in the Sahara would you get zero humidity and see the effect of CO2, a substantial warming. Except it doesn’t happen.
The typical gas content of the air is 78% Nitrogen, 21% Oxygen, 1% Argon, 1-4% H2O and 0.04% CO2. And the H2O absolutely dominates as a greenhouse gas. You know this from your own experience.
70
People tend to think of H2O in the water as clouds. Generally it’s an invisible gas, not visible water droplets as in clouds.
You can tell from ‘relative humidity’ which is how close the water content is to the point where it turns to droplets.
Air at 20 °C is saturated with water as a gas at about 17 g/m3. And one m3 of air weighs 1.222kg. So saturated is 17×100/1222 so 1.4%.
Melbourne at the moment is 64% relative humidity at 17C so the water content is about .64*1.4% or about 1% invisible water vapour. Pretty normal.
At around 30C, the figure is 30 grams, so 2.4%.
What this means is that even without clouds, H2O is everywhere as a hothouse gas.
Except the very dry deserts, unlike Australian deserts. Water is about 97% of the hothouse effect and it is everywhere.
And remember also that this whole story does not work over water which is about 75% of the surface of the planet because cold water is not a great radiator of infra red like hot land.
So it’s all a very long bow to draw to ping CO2 as a significant greenhouse gas in quantity, % of spectrum covered and reduced x4 because it only matters over land.
There is a lot of very expensive leg pulling going on. But James Hansen insists it works on Venus.
50
It’s scary to be in hot places with zero humidity, in the deserts of Africa where it never rains. Your system for exchanging CO2 and O2 in your lungs with 100m2 of wet thin tissue can also cost you a litre of water an hour! People learn this quickly.
So if you go to the deserts as in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, out of the narrow humid Nile Valley, take bottled water with you. Or you will be in serious trouble from rapid dehydration.
Almost the entire 81 Million people of Egypt live in the 35 metre deep and often very narrow long Nile valley which has very high humidity. It’s very uncomfortable but you can survive. What kept Egypt safe from invasion was that no one could cross the desert without enough water.
When Lord Kitchener fought the Khalif at Khartoum in 1898 in Sudan, he built a railway line across the desert and built a water pipeline with it. Water politics is as critical as oil in these super deserts. Australian deserts as far as I know are nowhere near as dangerous with relative humidities like 40%.
70
My point here is that there are few places on earth with humidity low enough for a CO2 effect not to be buried under the H2O effect, even without clouds. Estimates are that at most it contributes 3%. And that includes the extra 50% which is supposed to cause rapid man made tipping point Armageddon. Ridiculous.
40
I find it hilarious how the AGW stall-warts think that “clear sky” means there is no water vapour…
Then attribute any radiative affect to CO2, when in fact the H2O is still there and still the dominant radiative gas by a large margin.
40
In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

Levi’s To Use AI-Generated Models To Promote ‘Diversity And Sustainability’
Engadget’s Will Shanklin also nails what’s going on – writing: “Although that sounds noble on the surface, Levi’s is essentially hiring a robot to generate the appearance of diversity while ridding itself of the burden of paying human beings who represent the qualities it wants to be associated with its brand.”
Levi Strauss is partnering with Amsterdam-based digital model studio Lalaland.ai for the initiative. Founded in 2019, the company’s mission is “to see more representation in the fashion industry” and “create an inclusive, sustainable, and diverse design chain.” It aims to let customers see what various fashion items would look like on a person who looks like them via “hyper-realistic” models “of every body type, age, size and skin tone.”
The branding is just as woke, with the clothing designer claiming that the partnership is about “increasing the number and diversity of our models for our products in a sustainable way,” adding “We see fashion and technology as both an art and a science, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Lalaland.ai, a company with such high-quality technology that can help us continue on our journey for a more diverse and inclusive customer experience.”

Harvard geneticists create an organism that is immune to all viruses
Researchers at George Chuch’s Harvard lab have genetically engineered a bacteria, E. coli, to be totally immune to viruses.
In addition to blocking every virus the team has challenged it with thus far, their E. coli has also been designed so that its modified genes cannot escape into the wild, which does indeed sound like the plot of a lost Michael Crichton novel.
“We believe we have developed the first technology to design an organism that can’t be infected by any known virus,” genetics research fellow and study author Akos Nyerges said.
“We can’t say it’s fully virus-resistant, but so far, based on extensive laboratory experiments and computational analysis, we haven’t found a virus that can break it.”
The Harvard team went one step further, by adding in “trickster” tRNAs; when they see TCG or TCA, they install a different amino acid — called leucine — instead of serine.
“Leucine is about as different from serine as you can get, physically and chemically,” Nyerges said.
When a virus busts through the door carrying TCG and TCA, the trickster tRNA slips it leucine instead of serine, creating non-functional virus proteins and blocking it from replicating. (The virus does bring its own tRNA to the party, but the Harvard team believes their cell’s tRNA outcompetes it.)

Then we were essentially forced to have the Covid Vax. Geoff S

2. The content is indicative of illegal electoral activity in US. While not a surprise, he appears to have found strong evidence (but not the perpetrators as yet); and
3. A simple Duckduckgo search of “actblue” got me to this link. It may last.

Company Serves World’s First ‘Mammoth’ Meatball, But Nobody Is Allowed to Eat It
Food scientists on Tuesday unveiled a giant meatball made from lab-grown flesh of an extinct woolly mammoth, saying the protein from the past showed the way for future foods.
The glistening meatball was displayed under a glass bell jar by Australian-based cultivated meat firm Vow at the NEMO science museum in the Dutch capital Amsterdam.
But it is not ready to be eaten just yet, with the thousands-of-years-old protein requiring safety testing before modern humans can tuck in.
Grown over a period of several weeks, the meat was “cultivated” by scientists who first identified the DNA sequence for mammoth myoglobin, a key protein that gives the meat its flavor.
Filling in some gaps in the sequence of the mammoth myoglobin by using genes from the African elephant, the mammoth’s closest living relative, it was then inserted into sheep cells using an electrical charge.
If that process doesn’t put you off, then the safety issues might.
“I won’t eat it at the moment because we haven’t seen this protein for 4,000 years,” said Ernst Wolvetang of the Queensland University’s Australian Institute of Bioengineering who worked with Vow on the project.
“But after safety testing, I’d be really curious to see what it tastes like.”

New Deadly Superfungus Can Now Be Found in Half of US States
A fungal superbug called Candida auris is spreading rapidly through hospitals and nursing homes in the US. The first case was identified in 2016. Since then, it has spread to half the country’s 50 states. And, according to a new report, infections tripled between 2019 and 2021.
This is hugely concerning because Candida auris is resistant to many drugs, making this fungal infection one of the hardest to treat.
Candida auris is a yeast-type fungus that is the first to have multiple international health alerts associated with it. It has been found in over 30 countries, including the UK, since it was first identified in Japan in 2009.
https://www.cdc.gov/fungal/candida-auris/tracking-c-auris.html
This has been on my radar for years but is only now reaching significant levels. The problem now of course, is infection rates increasing due to damaged immune systems caused by you-know-what.
71
i bet there’s a whole lot of treatments that can take out this fungal infection, they are just not listed on the big pharma ledger

Australia: MORE cyberattacks
SYDNEY —
One of Australia’s biggest property companies said Wednesday it had been hit by cybercriminals who may have stolen data about staff and guests.
Staff members at Meriton, a large Australian property business, were warned Wednesday that cybercriminals may have accessed details of their bank accounts and details of their salaries, disciplinary history and performance appraisals.
Guests who have stayed at the company’s hotels have also been told that their contact information may have been compromised.
About 2,000 people are thought to be affected by the data breach.
Earlier this week, a far larger theft was revealed. Latitude Financial, a major Australian financial services company, said that a cyber hack on its systems earlier this month was far worse than originally thought.
https://www.voanews.com/a/millions-of-australians-caught-up-in-cyber-attacks/7026695.html
But wait, you also get:
A regional Victorian real estate agency has fallen victim to a data breach.
The agency says about 200 customers could be impacted in a data breach
About four months of data was stolen including names, contact information, bank details and IDs
Cyber security experts say it’s becoming harder and more expensive for small businesses to protect client information
PH Property Bendigo sent an email to clients yesterday afternoon saying a staff member’s email address was hacked on March 15.
The hackers managed to get past security protocols by the company that include randomised passwords, 2-Factor Authentication for all email accounts, and an in-house internet firewall security system.
The company said four months of data was stolen which could affect about 200 customers.

Tip for businesses: if you encrypt customer data the hackers get nothing.

This is an SOS post. I have been following Jo Nova’s excellent site for many years and aware that there are many clever and well informed readers. I am a 74-year-old woman who lives in Merewether Newcastle. We have been blindsided here by the government proposal for an offshore wind farm that stretches from Doyalson in the south to Port Stephens in the north and have been given only to April 28, to make submissions to the Department of climate change, energy, the environment and water. Our Newcastle Council has voted their enthusiastic support, and the MUA is backing it – apparently for the jobs servicing the offshore towers. Most of the readers will probably be aware of the environmental risk for no real reward of such a windfarm, and the damage will not be limited to the Hunter. We are second in importance to the government after bass Strait, but if anyone looks at the wind map of Australia 2023 they will be horrified by the magnitude of the combination of offshore and onshore wind farms that are in the pipeline. I cannot see that they all could get built as we will run out of materials and money but the damage on the way will be unimaginable. This is a call to see if there is anyone that has the desire and ability to help us put together information or ideas for submissions as we are just rank amatuers trying hard to let the locals know that this is even happening. A group of us are starting to letterbox drop, but we are only using Pages from our printers and we are all unfunded so any help we can get would be greatly appreciated. I feel that this is vital to the welfare of not only us in the Hunter, we are just the first mugs.
[Thanks for letting us know. Maz. Please keep us informed. It’s a start. It will take grassroots awareness to stop these. _ Jo]

David Wojick has been vocal on offshore wind turbines and the death of whales. He can be contacted here:
https://www.cfact.org/about/contact/
The best way to stop wind turbines is to get into detail on the environmental harm – Death of whales and bird life. Then there is the visual pollution, noise pollution and severely disturbed wind flow. Air flow is impacted at leat 2km downstream of large wind turbines. There is also the annoyance of light flicker. It is not dissimalr to driving along a partially treed road when the sun is being blocked and not blocked – it can result in photosensitive epilepsy.
https://www.wind-watch.org/news/2018/03/15/the-problems-with-wind-farms-are-real/
The sea floor is a highly sensitive area so any environmental study should include all the unique species on the sea floor and marine life. An environmental study that does not include this is flawed. Such a study will be an expensive impediment but should be done as iff it was the Great Barrier Reef.
An obvious question is how many wind turbines are being installed off Manly and Bondi. Surely it makes more sense to have the wind turbines nearer the load centre of Sydney. This brings up the topic of property value and is real loss of value that will be materialised when the property is sold. Anyone having a serene ocean view can never be adequately compensated for the loss of value bird choppers in that view will cause. A professional valuer should be able to give a guide. Loss of property value should be a major motivator. It was sufficient to stop a road bypass project in Victoria and kick a Liberal Government out of office. Anyone with an ocean view should be helping to fund the fight against the bird choppers.
You should seek out the environmental impact statement. Find out who authored it or is working on it and if they are suitably qualified. Rare bird life and migrating whales are the greatest risk to the animal world and pulls at the heart strings..
You could stir the pot with the traditional owners. They are usually looking for ways to make money out of industrial projects. Not sure how offshore land qualifies though.
There are many communities resisting offshore wind farms. These are ugly industrial machines that diminish near pristine environments. You should find plenty of examples to get ideas like this one:
https://www.change.org/p/presiden-biden-savethewhales-stop-the-industrial-wind-farms-off-the-coast-of-the-usa
Some waters of certain offshore wind farms have been sterilised by failures in the turbines – now “No Sail” zones. It is not safe to venture within hundreds of metres of wind turbines due to the risk of failure.
https://www.maritime-executive.com/article/offshore-wind-turbine-failure-prompts-calls-for-no-sail-zone
A major mechanical failure of a wind turbine results in extensive oil pollution. It is no different to a small vessel breaking up before sinking. So how will this be managed.
70
Thank you RickWill. I am following up on your grest tsuggestions and links and putting together an email package for locals. There is an ecogeneration wind map of Australia accessed by renewable power industries that will horrify you – I had the malp supplied to me by someone in the industry but cannot access the site.

Something mystical about trains be it their pioneering beginnings of pushing through and bringing people and prosperity to their honest/dedicated single minded determination to get from point A to point B no matter the challenge or obstacle. The romance of rail.
Thank you for sharing great video. Cheers

The National Farmers’ Federation is worrying that the new “safeguard” legislation will see prime agricultural land being bought up for “carbon offsets”.This would take it out of production. Similar, really, to what we are hearing from Holland.
The dopey bastards should have known that this was in the books. It’s been happening for 20 years, but will now hit full speed. They chose to ignore it, dreaming that farmers could make money by playing the carbon market in a zero sum game.
Ever since their inception in the early 1980s the NFF has been the greatest enemy of rural Australia, imagining that strangling farmers out of business was good economics.
It is ironic that this should come about just as the report comes through of John Kerin’s passing. As minister for Agriculture he kept the farmers talking while Hawke picked their pockets. He almost lived to see their grand plan completed.
60
As is indeed the plan.
50
The Dutch farmers plight?
40
The real intention is an EU plant to create Tri State City.
They are very open about it. To do this they have to force the farmers off their land. It’s a fraud as the all powerful EU uses the fertilizer scam to force the Dutch government to clear the land. Like the clearances which forced the Scottish farmers off their land in the 1800s, which is why I am here and so many others.
80
Too late although most of the country already destocked and locked up for carbon farming is poor at best mainly western NSW etc I have no doubt they would happily expand the idea into productive farmland .
40
What’s the point of carbon farming when an area the size of Australia has turned green since satellite measurements tracked vegetation since 1988, 14%. The same as the increase in CO2. Trees do not reduce CO2. More CO2 means more trees. It means people are wrong. Growing plants does NOT reduce CO2 at all. Or conversely it does, but the CO2 is quickly replaced from the Ocean by Henry’s Law.
And so much for ‘ocean acidification’ which contradicts Henry’s Law, a law from 1800 which still works today. Except the IPCC would rather you did not know about it. And NASA and the CSIRO appear to have never heard of it.
70
The point is $$$$$$$ from subsidies while you do nothing as a farmer , no fencing no farming no money out except rates just money in from the Government.
10
I was quizzing ChatGPT on ocean surface temperature and greenhouse gasses. I eventually asked it how much the temperature would fall if ALL the CO2 was removed.
This led to a further thought on a powerful CO2 extractor that achieved photosynthesis at higher efficiency that was self-replicating. Since CO2 is now widely deemed a pollutant it would make sense to completely eliminate it.
If we go back in time, something like 95% of CO2 was stripped from the atmosphere over a relatively short period. The only thing that prevented the complete removal was reduction in efficiency of the extraction process as the CO2 concentration fell. The reduction in efficiency is now being reversed and something I have observed in my lifetime.
Anyhow a good question for any true believer is what temperature will we have on Earth when all the CO2 pollution has been eliminated.
My view is that it will be much colder. There will be no trees to stabilise temperature and there will be a lot more ice on the land. A lot more of the land will look like Greenland and Antarctica. That will reduce water surface area as the oceans get lower and the ice mountains get higher. The lapse rate will be the primary cause of the reduced land temperature.
Now I wonder how much of the current temperature increase is due to the greening of land and the retention of heat due to the water in the added biomass. Greening will reverse once the permafrost advances south again. That is a clear tipping point but I am unlikely to observe.

The CO2 obsession.
It sounds sometimes like it is the only molecule in the Universe that affects the planet.
Eccentric aristocrats ‘carbon’ footprint stomp around the World equating CO2 with Godzilla.
(One of them even resembles another famous monstrous movie character.)
The real threat is the obsession.
Fixing a system we don’t understand, that ain’t broke.
Guess I’m a Jungian.
Wish I felt Junger.
Then again, today’s Jung are frightening.
And may present a greater threat than CO2.
Then again again, obsession is showing that you care.

I asked ChatGPT:
What is the optimal level of CO2 in the atmosphere?
The optimal level of CO2 in the atmosphere is a matter of debate and scientific inquiry, as it depends on various factors, such as the Earth’s temperature, atmospheric composition, and the balance of carbon sinks and sources. However, it is widely accepted among climate scientists that the pre-industrial level of CO2 in the atmosphere, which was around 280 parts per million (ppm), was relatively stable and compatible with a healthy, stable climate.
Since the Industrial Revolution, human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation have led to a significant increase in atmospheric CO2 levels, which have now surpassed 415 ppm, according to the latest measurements. This increase has been linked to various environmental and climate changes, including rising temperatures, sea level rise, and extreme weather events.
There is ongoing research and debate among scientists regarding what the optimal level of CO2 in the atmosphere should be to mitigate the worst effects of climate change. However, most agree that the ideal level of atmospheric CO2 should be below 350 ppm to avoid dangerous and irreversible impacts on the Earth’s climate system.
76
Ask plants at what concentration they grow best.
100
It’s hard to get on at the moment, it’s very busy. I’ll ask it when I am able to log in.
I’d like to see it around 800ppm or so.
40
It actually got it right. It gave a non-propaganda answer.
What is the optimal level of atmospheric CO2 for plant growth?
The optimal level of atmospheric CO2 for plant growth depends on the type of plant and various environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and light intensity. However, in general, plants tend to grow best when atmospheric CO2 levels are between 1000 and 1200 parts per million (ppm). This is significantly higher than the current atmospheric CO2 level of around 410 ppm.
Many greenhouse operators artificially increase CO2 concentrations to around 1000 ppm to enhance plant growth and improve crop yield. However, it is important to note that excessively high levels of CO2 can lead to negative effects on plant growth and development. Therefore, maintaining optimal CO2 levels is critical for achieving maximum plant growth and yield.
40
David,
What is the real concentration of CO2?
A very interesting collection of observations. It seems that outside in the real world that it can vary considerably.

20
Very interesting Graeme.
10
Warming produces “extreme weather events”?
No, according to basic meteorology as temperature increases the number of storms drops. As has proven to be the case.
This is a statement of fact and observation by Dr. Richard Lindzen, famous Upper Atmopshere Physicist.
So this is cant, not intelligence. Much fiddled data shows no growth in storm frequency. In fact the hurricanes reaching the US since 1900 have halved from 2 to 1, with some variation.
20
And in the Antipodes.
‘The average number of tropical cyclones inside the Australian region has dropped by around one cyclone per year in the most recent complete 30-year period, from 1991 to 2020. Severe tropical cyclones have also decreased from 5.5 per year in the 30 years ending in 2010 to 4.8 per year in the 30 years ending in 2020.’ (Weatherzone)

I’ve noticed a lot of people still obsessively wearing masks, and many of them seem to be younger and healthy people, not susceptible people we are told will be helped by masks such as the elderly, although that itself is a questionnable proposition.
50
So have I.
i am not sure if they think they are protecting themselves or if they are sending a message that they think that the rest of us are being reckless and irresponsible.

I have noticed for decades that the Japanese obsessively wear masks when travelling. It’s not just the latest scare.

Let them. Do not forget that our objective is a free world.

Smile cheerfully at them. They will smile back. It is normal human reaction. Try it. It will help them realise what they are missing.

British Indian medic backs legal review of COVID vaccine in South Africa High Court
ADITI KHANNA 29 March, 2023
London, Mar 29 (PTI) Leading UK-based Indian-origin consultant cardiologist Aseem Malhotra is among a group of international experts backing an approach to the High Court of South Africa, calling for an urgent judicial review of Pfizer’s mRNA COVID vaccine products which he fears may be “harmful”.
Lawyers representing the human rights group Freedom Alliance of South Africa (FASA) say the show cause notice was filed on Monday at the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Pretoria, along with real-world data analysis, which is claimed to show an association with increasing death from both COVID and non-COVID causes in the vaccinated compared to the unvaccinated.
FASA has approached the court to review and set aside the authorisation of Pfizer’s vaccine products on the basis that the authorisation was “unlawful”.
If successful, this could result in the removal of COVID mRNA vaccines from the South African market and also have global implications.
“Having critically appraised the literature and the Pfizer trial data, the evidence is unequivocal,” Malhotra said.
“For the overwhelming majority of people, the Pfizer COVID mRNA vaccine is significantly more harmful than beneficial and likely should never have been approved to be administered to a single human being,” said Malhotra, who himself took two doses of the Pfizer vaccine and is now backing the show cause notice.
“It is alarming to me that the local regulators are encouraging the vaccination of young children in the circumstances. The rollout of the Pfizer vaccine products should, in my opinion, be halted pending a full investigation into how we got this so very wrong. That is, without question, the responsible and ethical move,” he said.

Scientists Confirm Biblical Account of the ‘Fountains Of The Deep’
Oh dear, has this potential source of ocean water been accounted for?
10
“‘In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, ”
Many years ago I heard from a very religious family that the Earth had a water envelope in space that cut out the UV radiation so people lived to be 800years old.
The Flood was that collapsing and ever since people have only lived to less than 100.

I’ve been doing my True Believer opposition research, lately. The Biggest Find is that Climate Hysterics have abandoned the theorized upper atmospheric warming as a feared CO2 indicator. They’ve replaced it with a claim of impending doom from Arctic Amplification from CO2.
Richard Lindzen attempts to come to grips with this in his Heartland Institute talk in Orlando, in February. He is being more comprehensive in his thoughts than his earlier, 2021 GWPF publication.
In his talk, Lindsey confirms a thought I’ve had often eno7gh. Alarmist especially rely on “Just So” stories, These are simplified narratives offered without data points or theoretical foundation. Rather, the sensibility is assumed.
This gets me to my third observation. Just so story telling (Mark Lynas, we’re looking at you) leads Ecological mass extinction narratives. These drive Born Again Malthusian gullibility. The old 1960s placard reads “Humans: Off Earth NOW!” Wha5 was old and failed becomes new and shiny again.
Does anyone want to amend or augment my list, please? The entire train is led by CO2 demonisation. Then it becomes elimination as a cure. And vilification as the Evil.
40
A new paper on the CO2 fantasy, ‘surface air CO2 concentrations vary by 100s to 1,000s of ppm within a span of hours to days or weeks across the natural world. The observational evidence suggests these variations are neither driving or even causing temperature changes.’ (Notrickszone)
10
‘The observational evidence suggests these variations are neither driving or even causing temperature changes.’’
Of course they do! At night the plants suck up all the CO2 and you’ll find temperatures at night are always colder than during the day! During the day there is more CO2 and temperatures are higher.. its so simple, ask a Green!
