Why would a network axe its most popular show?
Just like that: Fox News and Tucker Carlson have “Parted Ways”. His last show was last Friday, and he did not know at the time. There’s no farewell for the top rating show in America and no replacement host, just a “rotating” generic vague fill-in show. It doesn’t look like this was planned for months in advance? Fox News stocks immediately fell 4%.
Tucker Carlson Tonight was the most watched cable news show in the US. His audience was over 3 million people in the audience every day (not to mention the rest on social media). It’s not clear why this happened but there is speculation that it’s related to the Dominion case settlement.
There is no one more influential in US media. Tucker interviews anyone he wants for as long as he wants in the most powerful nation on Earth — in the last two weeks, for example, Trump for 40 minutes, and Elon Musk for an hour (on Artificial Intelligence).
He shapes the news. If they can silence Tucker, they can silence anyone. It may define a pivot point in US history — the end of something like free speech on TV or Cable apart from a few tiny outlets. He is the bravest commentator on TV.
This makes Twitter and Elon Musk more important than ever as the last major media outlet that allows views of half the voters to be expressed.
@JeremyCarl via Powerline Blog
@TuckerCarlson is by far the most important person in U.S. media.
Nobody in journalism in my lifetime has been equivalent to @TuckerCarlson. Lots of lefty journos who “set the agenda” really were just regime narrative enforcers/amplifiers. Tucker was the only person who could make national stories out of narratives the regime wanted buried.
As Rasmussen Reports says via ZeroHedge
“Tea Leaves: @TuckerCarlson & Elonmusk start a nightly show exclusively on Twitter. Tucker becomes the richest man in the media.
Carlson produces from a studio at his home, so already many are saying where will he go next? But this is a dangerous moment in history. With Fox settling the Dominion legal case, has it become too risky for free speech anywhere?
Related? Tucker Carlson speech on Friday night:
“How many people break under the strain of the downward pressure of whatever this is that we are going through. We look with disdain and sadness as we see people you know become quislings, you see them revealed as cowards, you see them going along with the new new thing, it is clearly a poisonous thing, a silly thing, saying things you know they don’t believe because they want to keep their job.”

Tucker was the cable host who most: * Opposed US proxy war in Ukraine; * Denounced CIA, FBI and DHS for its systemic lies and corruption; * Devoted himself to a pardon for Julian Assange; * Objected to regime change efforts in Cuba; * Criticized Trump Admin’s militarism.
I would also add:
Tucker: *Asked the hard questions about vaccines. *Pointed out the Pharmaceutical companies bought advertising on the media to buy friendly “reporting”. *Pushed back against the Climate religion, and Energy Madness. *Pointed out Twitter used to be a subsidiary of the CIA. *Spoke about the threat from China. *Asked why the DOJ didn’t investigate Hunter Biden.
Tucker was is too good.
Tucker Carlson’s speech over the weekend was powerful. Too powerful apparently. pic.twitter.com/sxncP26Tda

And someone on Twitter said: “Now Tucker runs for Office”
For some there cometh the hour,
Who will not submit or cower,
To the globalist threat,
Of the great reset,
But bravely speak truth to power.

I know the name but Can’t say I have ever watched him. Presumably if he is so popular then another channel will snap him up?
108
ow Tony. That’s not the way it works. In the US, Fox is the only big channel that airs conservative views at all (which is why it rated three times as high as CNN and often twice as high as MSNBC). Fox had no competition for shows that appealed to one half the nation, while the other five channels battled it out on the left.
The man has a name worth millions in the US — but what’s the first amendment worth in the US if people don’t think they’ll get a fair hearing in a defamation case?
1120
I note it’s only 3 million viewers so the other more left wing shows must have tiny audiences. It is on cable. Not difficult to imagine that if his show transferred to the Internet then with his reputation he could get a substantially larger international audience for his show
148
Tony, you don’t get it, this is huge. There is no one more influential in US media. His reputation can’t “get bigger”. Tucker interviews anyone he wants for as long as he wants in the most powerful nation on Earth — in the last two weeks Trump for 40 minutes, and Elon Musk for an hour (on Artificial Intelligence).
He shapes the news. If they can silence Tucker, they can silence anyone. It may define a pivot point in US history — the end of free speech on TV or Cable apart from a few tiny outlets. He is the bravest commentator on TV.
His audience on social media is already vast. Dedicated fans post his show every day on youtube, bitchute and rumble, twitter, in 1, 2, 5, 10 and 40 minute versions. Youtube deletes the long ones within 24 hours.
You have really missed out if you’ve never seen him — see my posts onTucker Carlson. A lot of people on this site enjoyed the interview with billionaire Edward Dowd in February. As I said at the time ” It’s food for the soul to see good men solving problems. And that’s even though they’re discussing death, corruption and fraud. There’s something hopeful about this….”
Pray that he finds another outlet — like say Elon Musk and Twitter, or his own new channel. But whereever it is it will be the number one target of legislation and vexatious law suits, targeted advertising attacks.
[But I’ve just added a few lines here to the post, since I obviously needed to explain it better to people outside the US]
1020
I don’t know anyone outside the US who has never heard of Tucker, Jo. I think unfamiliarity with him outside the US would be relatively uncommon. But I guess some people inside the US might not have heard of him either.
372
To be honest most people haven’t heard of anything – they are too interested in light entertainment and what other people think of them. Unfortunately they can’t be awakened from their intellectual slumber, they are – in any measure brain dead.
780
If he makes a guest appearance on MAFS he’ll be okay in Oz. Sigh!
Just to emphasize your point GlenM.
100
Those inside the USA would possibly watch Don Lemon on CNN’s Morning show, but not any more. He’s been dropped (after 17 years) but that might be because the ratings were dropping, or possibly for discussing on air the calls to test politicians for mental competency once they are older than 75.
200
So CNN are headhunting.
Hmm- Tucker on CNN?
23
Tucker on the Communist News Network? I think not!
120
I watch(ed) him every day; this is a chilling moment in US and broader western history. Our freedoms are disappearing before our eyes. He is well-known in Australia.
410
His absence will surely be noticed.
What matters now is where do we go from here?
My guess is that his sacking was part of the legal settlement.
Could that be unlawful?
What are the chances that evidence can be turned up to validate his assertions about the machines?
50
There are a lot of people who don’t want you to hear Tucker Carlson just like they did not want you to hear Alan Jones. They don’t want anyone questioning the vibe and no one should ever use truth to win an argument. We are indeed in some sort of communist state and the parasites among us think that is a good thing and so long as the parasites outnumber the workers we will continue to be in trouble.
600
” so long as the parasites outnumber the workers we will continue to be in trouble.”
That’s what civilisation bought us! The use of coal and oil allowed machinery, which allowed fewer workers, which meant Govt had to find something to do with those idle hands.
Hence millions of civil servants and Govt-paid contractors all beavering around doing shit that was never necessary, but until we collapse back to a mainly human-powered economy, say, the 1920s, it won’t change. We need thousands of workers banging rivets in by hand to build a ship, instead of a couple of hundred welders and thousands of paper-pushers!
30
Some family despised him. I didn’t press the matter, just guess that they must stick to “Our ABC.
It’ll be interesting what Our ABC has to say about this.
60
Depends on who you relate to and how they get their information. If they are getting it from the MSM then probably they will have been kept in the dark about people with aspirations to free speech like Tucker Carlson. On the other hand, people who get their information largely via alternative media outlets will be up to date with the war between free speech and those forces that want to suppress critical thinking and free speech.
70
Tucker was good to watch unless you are a lefty green socialist.Anything he came out with could be checked unless quickly BURIED on social media.Glenn Beck also had the same style show as Tucker during Obamas reign.Nothing Beck brought up about Obama was challenged or sued but he went the same way as Tucker after a program on Kiddie Fidlers.
50
Carlson spoke out illadvisedly against Trump and Sidney Powell saying he “passionately” hated former President Donald Trump and that Trump’s tenure in the White House was a “disaster.” He also used misogynistic terms to criticize pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell and reject her conspiracies about the 2020 election – even as those wild theories got airtime on Fox News.
This disturbed Murdoch who did not want to lose the Republican voters that constitute a significant percentage of viewers. That plus the settlement with Dominion caused Murdoch to wield the axe in an attempt to recover its Republican audience.
1039
“who did not want to lose the Republican voters that constitute a significant percentage of viewers. “
Yet that is exactly what this move will accomplish !
Nobody wants another CNN !
331
Tucker retracted that statement.
He explained the context was his anger that “an idiot on the Trump campaign” texted him the names of some allegedly dead voters who turned out to be alive but Tucker repeated the erroneous allegation on air which made him look foolish.
Of course, that one error is not to say there wasn’t massive fraud in flavour of the Democrats in any case.
Tucker was a big supporter of Trump.
450
“Tucker retracted that statement.”
Would you supply the link for that?
22
The link Ian asks for;
https://joannenova.com.au/2023/04/breaking-tucker-carlson-highest-rated-us-show-in-history-suddenly-silenced-on-fox/#comment-2663590
Enjoy.
20
Mr. Ian: Your comment indicates you are inside Mr. Murdoch’s head. Below, you ask someone for a link. Hilarious. Do you have a link for your inside info on Murdoch’s thinking? You demonstrate the expression “tails I win, heads you lose”. Or something.
40
Mr Paul. No I’m not inside Mr Murdoch’s head I just make sure I read sufficiently widely so that I am able to see both sides of the news. YahooNews came up with this headline
yesterday:
“Decision to Sack Tucker Carlson Came Straight from Rupert Murdoch: Report”
You can read more here
https://news.yahoo.com/decision-sack-tucker-carlson-came-191151800.html
There’s also an article in today’s (April 26) Australian which has similar comments
00
And from that article:
The American people did not see what happened on Jan 6th. That’s the point. Tucker just wants to show the footage that has been banned.
91
Yep. We have long passed the point of no return. Medicos, hard scientists, hard media reports are now all successfully suppressed, with the obvious corollary that if these are ever allowed back out, hopelessly confused populations will result, making it way more difficult to manage them.
230
Aloha! Jo NEWSMAX is another larger conservative tv news channel. Maybe more conservative than FOX in some ways.
Top rated conservative anti-woke late night show is GUTFELD! Still on FOX as far as I know.
160
Newsmax is FAR more conservative than Fox which is a bit like the curate’s egg.
80
A new satirical Judy might say: “er – some parts of it were very good”.
00
I agree 100% Jo. TC is the number one political commentator in the free world by a country mile and over the last few years he’s almost managed to become the last bastion of the free world. In this new age of rule by misinformation and deception, Tucker is the thorn in the shoe than won’t go away. He exposes the lies and hypocrisy every day and he does it is a way like no other, hence his huge following. Whilst we can only speculate on the real reasons behind his departure, we know it’s not to improve the Fox share price. When I first heard the news, I thought has Murdoch raised the white flag and capitulated to the new authoritarianism ?. Or, was this a lost battle with Dominion and the Democrats, where he had to part way with some money and Tucker ?.
80
A similar thing happened to the inimitable Mark Steyn at GBNews in the UK. It was trying to be a conservative voice for the people who had legitimate questions about immigration, vaccination and government overreach etc… But he ran afoul of the ‘approved opinions allowed in the media’ rules and he parted ways with them. To be fair, he did have a couple of heart attacks. He went back to doing his own show (which is very good) and covering all the unspoken topics, although he seems to have been taking a break lately.
Tucker isn’t for everyone and that permanently puzzled look on his face makes him appear either stupid or a bit fake. Regardless, I do like the fact that he says what a lot of conservatives are thinking.
110
The key for Mark Steyn is that GB News would not back him properly and required him to pay any fines that might arise from telling the truth in the face of government lies.
51
There are several logical outlets. One is talk radio — there is a large network of stations with conservative commentators across the full spectrum, in the market Rush Limbaugh made. IF one wants to work every day, the available audience is large and loyal, an order of magnitude larger than he had on Fox. His fellow Foxer Sean Hannity does three hours a day syndicated. That might be a good base & support a production staff and regular industry presence. The internet needs some structured information flow, as it has displaced broadcast media to a large degree as people’s screen of choice but is still an infant in its forms and norms. Prior media coalesced to main and peripheral sources because we needed dominant voices in our shared community. The net empowered legions of smaller dispersed communities to get together, but left behind the legacy folks still doing things like live events watched by tens of millions, and captive “news” groups, not longer important thus capturable by the state. It may be up to personalities who can speak in ways that large scale audiences trust (which must be a bit intuitive in an AI age) who can complete the migration. We all who comment here, including the dissenters from the common view, have this kind of trust in Jo of a kind of ‘presenter’s integrity’ no longer present in the state-supporting media.
60
It’s shocking – I watch his show quite frequently
Absolutely shocking
60
The US system needs calling out here.
Before I read this story, I have seen other US cases awarding compensation plus huge, surely unrealistic ” punitive damages”.
They also condemn people to hundreds of years in gaol.
When they get real I will have more confidence in them.
Can somebody else explain how the batch of 340,000 votes, all for Biden, can turn up after counting had been declared closed?
110
Sure. The Democrats cheated. Then they won. Then they wrote the news and the immediate history. Now they rule.
It is a bit amazing that we have been so evenly divided that 20 or so precincts, with very minor and usually ignored local officials in
charge, can swing a national election. When Florida, red-faced as the class clown of states after the hanging chad debacle, fully reformed
elections the two most populous counties, with replaced Election officials, showed significant vote swings without registration changes.
Now, admittedly, some of the ‘cheating’ may be ‘legal’ if you think a cadre of clerks poring over the roles voting ballots for historically
uninvolved, and sometimes unliving voters, is ok.
50
What is odd is that someone who has never watched him felt compelled to make the first comment.
You don’t need cable, you can see him on YT as I do.
200
I agree fully; that comment was deliberately “oh I don’t know him but..” cutesy.
80
The comment (mine) was nothing of the sort. He has 3 million viewers. So he may be well known and influential in some areas (not very here in the UK) but if he was popular surely his numbers would be much greater? The total possible audience in the US is vast but many do not hang on his every word and many might see him only in passing. I suggested he might get a larger international audience if he deliberately transferred to the Internet.
33
OK, fair enough. But as Jo has made clear and I can only corroborate, Tucker Carlson is hugely influential. He breaks the stories that his pale reflections on Australian “conservative” news outlets cover days later. There was nobody on mainstream media like him – innumerable topics come to mind; mRNA, the political influence of Big Pharma, the Ukraine war and hte political power of Raytheon etc, the Uniparty, moral degradation in US cities, schools and elsewhere, Epstein, Jan 6….
80
And started with “I know the name but Can’t say I have ever watched him. ”
And has made another two comments including an attempted rebuttal of our esteemed host. With the other denying that his reply was cutesy.
01
Tucker Carlson has had a number of airings on this blog. I guess you skipped them.
00
Jo, praises.
The second vid of Tucker, wow.
Funny, I had just finished watching this.
https://www.bitchute.com/video/oIAtLqsrGj9E/
‘Father Alexis Bugnolo: A MANIFESTO FOR THE FREE PEOPLES OF THE EARTH’
I am guessing the father is not an Episcopalian.
Perhaps a Lutheran in the Pre-Formation way.
Weird how it parallels Tucker.
A theological struggle.
A theology all of us in the climate skeptic space have watched develop.
Or be developed, and not for the purpose of helping the planet and its’ ordinary inhabitants.
The Neo Wannabe Feudal Lords or going full out on their final assault.
They will allow no quarter.
280
Outstanding video Honk!
Thanks for posting.
90
We concur! It’s like living “in the beginning when the world was with form and void”. How do you fight a Medusa?
40
That should have read …
‘Lutheran in a Pre-REformation way’
40
IS it not how you are treated(booted) when you speak too much inconvenient truth to the entrenched powers that be? Think of the treatment of Galileo Galilei if you wish a historically similar reference without the show trial.
231
G. G. got off easy: see Giordano Bruno
110
2nd example: John Barry Humphries.
10
Tucker was great.
This is terrible news.
Members of the thinking community always wondered how long a truth teller like Tucker could last, even on a somewhat pro-free thought network like Fox.
The very last report that I heard of Tucker was a few days ago when he was talking about how his show had discovered that the 911 call tapes made by the jail in relation to Epstein’s killing had been erased and other questions he had about the case remained unanswered by the DoJ. Mmmm…
I guess, ultimately, he asked “too many” questions and pushed the Deep State too far because, certainly, there is no commercially justifiable reason for removing a top-rating show.
There is now almost no one, if anyone at all, who speaks the truth on the US Lamestream media.
Incidentally, some would argue that it’s only a matter of getting “the right people in power” to put a stop to this. It goes beyond that. It needs people power. In the US they DID put the right person in power, Donald Trump, and the Deep State ate him for breakfast.
Following (video) is one possible future if conservatives and fellow rational thinkers allow this to continue. Some would argue that for many things portrayed in the following we are nearly there, especially the “news” shown in this short story:
https://youtu.be/vWkepoLUZfs
530
Tucker Carlson’s full speech at the Heritage foundation
https://www.youtube.com/live/ebG2POkoHgU?feature=share
Altogether too powerful for some!
90
Are these events connected to Tucker’s firing?
— The Jan 6 footage. Tucker’s team had access to thousands of hours (and needed 2 weeks to review it) and ALL we got was a correction of the MSM’s false narrative surrounding Jacob Chansley (i.e. that he was something more sinister than a slight oddball who did nothing violent, broke nothing, wandered around the ‘inner sanctum’ accompanied by Capitol police , and then left.) .. What? There was nothing else? No other oddities to report from that day? Pull the other one. Must’ve been warned off.
— Last week, Tucker replayed some video of a black socialist who was speaking some truth on Ukraine. Apparently, said socialist is being charged by the Deep State for spreading Russian propaganda without declaring as a ‘foreign agent’ (the sum of money involved is a piddly thousand dollars or so). Do you think the Murdochs are annoyed by anything that’s not supportive of the proxy war against Russia?
— The Fox settlement of 800 million to Dominion voting machines. Isn’t there another case looming? (Smartmatic?) …. Is it a stretch to say the ‘Global Illuminati’ promised to make THIS case ‘go away’ if Tucker were to be canceled? Will we see this case settled for a derisory sum now that the ‘sacrificial lamb’ has been offered up?
50
No.
Much more likely is that last week he pointed out that Big Pharma had bought the media to push its ‘safe and effective’ vaccines and the media then abused anyone who called the vaccines into question as their paymasters wanted. Given that Fox had bizarrely settled with Dominion – possibly because Murdoch didn’t want to be questioned as there seemed to be little evidence that Dominion had suffered any loss – they couldn’t afford to lose out on cash from Big Pharma.
60
Getting difficult to differentiate the US deep state from the China CCP.
110
A further assault on free speech and a further step into totalitarianism. Sinister forces at work.
421
Democratic Congressperson asserts disagreement with Democrats is ‘incitement’ to violence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qancRwya1w
70
Trump’s support system is being eroded further! The attack on the GOP & supporters is only just warming up. There’s still 18 months before the the 2024 elections & it’s going to get a lot worse. Don’t rule out more violence than ever seen since the civil war!
60
The Leftist view on this from “The Guardian” is that the removal was instigated by Rupert Murdoch himself and was supposedly about a “sexism” and “a hostile work environment” claim of someone working on the show (but seemingly not related to Tucker himself) and also “Murdoch was also concerned by Carlson’s embrace of the idea that the January 6 attack on Congress was instigated by the government”.
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/apr/24/tucker-carlson-leaving-fox-news
200
Now that does not surprise me. It had to come from the top and Murdoch is a NeoCon and a denizen of the swamp.
190
Elite billionaires gonna elite billionaire.
We keep hoping a ‘good one’ will appear.
Elon … until he gets bored.
Reminds me of something like, oh I don’t know … Feudalism.
Maybe soon we’ll sing songs like ‘Good King ,Good King Klausenschwab, we have nuth-een for Christmas’.
130
David, I think it is the younger Murdochs rather than Rupert who favours free speech. The younger Murdochs (can not remember name) are left wingers who believe in climate change and go along with the Davos mob.
322
When Rupert shuffles off you can say goodbye to Fox.
Lachlan will fold to James and their wives (who really call the tune) and it will all be over. Meanwhile Mark Levin is still standing and delivering, but for how long?
90
You can say good bye to Fox now. NewsMax is the big winner here.
30
Tucker does(<-not did) excellent investigative reporting. IMneverHO
He'd butt heads with anyone has been my observation.
The manner this event transpired is what I find interesting.
He is elite. If he keeps his cool he'll land on his feet.
240
Tucker departs from Fox, Steyn departs from GBNews, Sky News Australia appears to be shifting ground……..Starting to look somewhat concerning for those looking for a more conservative view on mainstream media.
700
‘Devoted himself to a pardon for Julian Assange’
I didn’t know that.
80
“Why would a network axe its most popular show?” Perhaps because Tucker Carlson got too big for his own boots?
236
Could it something as simple as “couldn’t agree on the contract”?
31
Yes, I think it is something that simple, but not about the contract. It’s simply double standards.
40
I have little doubt that Rupert Murdoch ordered the sacking of Tucker Carlson and that it is in some way related to the Dominion Voting Machine defamation case that Fox News did not contest.
Murdoch needs to be brought to account but it may not happen in this world.
80
And apart from all of the above, conservative Matt Walsh, YouTuber and member of The Daily Wire, has recently been victim of a major hacking attack, doxing plus death threats against him and his family.
There is nothing the Left hates more or is terrified of more, than an alternative opinion.
Notice how Leftists are allowed to express themselves on Jo’s blog (i.e. here) but the thinking community here is not allowed to do so on “their” blogs. In fact most people here would have experienced censorship or banning on their blogs as well as hostile ad hominem attacks and worse.
500
Matt Walsh responds:

I get “banned” on The Australian, never mind left wing outlets.
40
Fox seems to be heading down the same path as BudLight.

Here is the Communist News Network cringeworthy take on it…all standard Orwellian Leftist lies, distortions and ad hominems.
240
Sheesh, reads like an A.I. bot wrote that CNN drivel.
Lest We Forget: We will never forget.
220
A. non-I !
90
Straight out 1984 Voelkischer Beobachter or Pravda. Or the Guardian. Pure bile and drivel from the moronic Left.
210
Wow. I had to go to the CNN site to see if that was really the text. It was, of course. That text is like a comedic version of propaganda. So low grade, spectacularly lazy-minded.
130
but it is effective…
10
I’ve watched Tucker Carlson on you tube a few times and agree with him most of the time.
But I wonder if the Murdoch’s split with the clueless James isn’t behind this sacking.
He’s a full on WOKE BELIEVER in all the delusional CC idiocy and I just hope now that Rupert and Lachlan don’t dip their toes any further into this fraudulent nonsense..
But Elon Musk would be a fool if he didn’t approach Tucker to front a show online and let it rip. But Tucker should be able to expose the EV BS and FRAUD as well.
But I’ll certainly keep watching the Bolt Report and Outsiders etc to see if Sky News starts to head down a different path. Who knows?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-01-15/james-murdoch-criticises-news-corp-fox-climate-change-coverage/11868544

I wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Follow the money
90
The Bolt report and Outsiders won’t touch what Carlson did. NeoCon pro Ukraine types who toe the line on conspiracy theory denigration about Jan 6 and COVID vaccines. Bolt annoyed me a couple of years ago with his usual coterie of go-to people that I got bored with the same old. Morrow and Panahi are OK, but Dean is far too effeminate for my liking
143
I haven’t watched Outsiders much since Ross Cameron’s departure. Unlike you I’m not a fan of Rita nor James. They’re ok, but hardly outsiders. The Original with Ross and Latham was pretty wild. Then when Latham got axed Ross came into his own and was a very entertaining intellectual character rarely seen on TV. His off the cuff rants on Stoic philosophy was unique. Rowan was much better with Ross. Since he has become just another commentator. And they’re all the same on Sky, you watch one show and all
the others repeat that one.
Though I don’t mind the new show The Late Debate, with the hairy Ewok and the stunningly beautiful Liz Storer(?). It’s a bit different.
80
Ross Cameron was very good. Bernar

I would think this is all part of the Democrat/Left war on Conservative opinion. Fox settling with Dominion when they didn’t have to, smacks to me of a desire to not face the scrutiny that discovery would have brought and Fox in general (a couple of minor exceptions) has always defended the 2020 election as being ‘free and fair’. It would have been hard to ignore all the cases of voter fraud that would have been exposed, and they would have had to ‘fess up that it was not a conspiracy and that fraud had taken place. I’m sure Dominion and Fox would have worked out some behind-the-scenes deal that meant Fox doesn’t pay anything, just to maintain the narrative that any mention of the 2020 election being stolen or any other Left/Democrat political perfidy is buried under a wall of intimidation.
Sacking Carlson would be just another step along this pathway. US politics (and media) is now at a level of corruption that is getting hara to hide, yet they will continue to take steps like this to allow the regime to survive.
It is unfortunate that our most crucial ally is going down this route, when we rely on them so much. They might not be that helpful if they are having a civil war when China comes knocking at our door.
380
Fox settling with Dominion – Dominion well named, meaning ‘control.’
140
Ah yes, Control Vs Kaos – Kaos has the upper hand!
50
Missed it by “that” much, Chief!
60
Blackrock owns stakes in Dominion and Fox- essentially Peter Robbing Paul. I am seeing an alternate reason over a HR issue with “misogyny” or such. I agreed with most of what Tucker and his research team promulgate- unlike the lefties I can easily accept not seeing eye to eye all the time.
30
They settled out of court because going to court would have cost them a lot more. Simple financial decision, although it also means they receive no official offence.
it happens in radio all the time. The body of governance – FCC or something? – use threats of court action over things announcers say so the media company just pays them money to avoid official strikes and to save money, the FFC uses it to make money. Its’ a kind of extortion racquet, the game. Everyone knows it. Dominion saw an opportunity to make cash and they couldn’t resist it.
It’s also what some people do in the US. Accuse their employer of prejudice and the employer is sure to pay you to avoid all the hassle.
90
$787M would buy a lot of court time. Fox must have been on a weak footing because their defence was based on arguing that Dominion had not lost revenue. They did not even bother to make a case that the machines could be rigged.
Fox’s back down really places doubt over election rigging using the machines.
10
:
It is probable the $787M settlement with Dominion had something to do with his departure. It may have been a condition of the settlement.
140
Very likely.
This appears to be a critical period for developments in many of the issues on which Carlson was focussed- in particular, the Ukraine War.
This is the start of the Spring offensive season in that war, and it is not clear how that war will progress given recent revelations about the corruption of the Ukrainian leadership and uncertainties about the real level of US and NATO commitment.

Well, firing Tucker Carlson has, so far today, cost the Fox stockholders some 962 Million USD in less than 10 hours.
Add that to the Dominion settlement and the Murdoch Empire has lost more than USD 1.5 Billion in a week.
Sooner or later, that’s talking “real money”.
Because Fox fired Carlson, he has no “non compete” agreement, nor other constraints.
Carlson, Mark Steyn, Dan Bongino, could form their own agency and digital services in a few weeks and literally take over the conservative news media by themselves.
This is going to become more interesting rather than not.
40
And the lesson is, don’t question the election result if you want to keep company value and your job.
90
Election….
Smoke …fire….
10
Didn’t Jacinda Adern become some kind of UN “disinformation” tzar? Perhaps Carlson is her first scalp?
161
Yes. Ardern has established “The Christchurch Call”
In reality it has absolutely nothing to do with “terrorism” or “extremist content”. Those things are just Left-speak for anything and everything the Left disagree with, including the opinions of of regular conservatives and fellow rational thinkers.

Big stirrings in the ether.
Have only seen film of Tucker “presenting” a couple of times, but regularly saw the print details.
In summary, we must now believe;
* O’Biden obviously won the last election.
* O’Biden Jr is a clean living church goer and an example for our children to follow.
* The January 6th attack on the Capitol was a real event, totally under Trumps control, right down to the last detail, and definitely not an orchestrated thing created by his opponents.
* Now that Fox has been Fixed we will forevermore hear only the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth.
And I almost forgot; Blek Lives Matta.
Pray, because we are being preyed upon.
491
“* O’Biden obviously won the last election.”
Apparently POTUS Biden is about to announce his re-election campaign.
As DNC nixes primary debates.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=–DOAMiC7ms
Truly unbelievable.
Only an establishment that feels it has control of elections would would trot this poor old man out again.
If he can’t stand in debate within his own party, he certainly can’t in the general election.
So they will run a candidate with no debates?
When bird do splats on your head, it is a strong indicator of the existence of birds.

If Biden runs for President, who will the Democrats choose to run for Vice-President?

In the gloom and despondency we have Henry Ergas (in The Australian today)
“Establish a panel of fishmongers and they will tell you fishmongers deserve to be on top. Establish a panel of economists and they will conclude economists should run the world.
That prediction may seem simplistic; but the review of the Reserve Bank does nothing to disprove it. On the contrary, rarely have so few recommended creating jobs for so many – of their colleagues.
A new committee largely composed of economists will set monetary policy. Economists will also dominate a new expert advisory panel. So as to service those economists, yet more economists will be added to the RBA’s already massive staff. And a new program will fund university research in monetary economics, spreading some joy among those who don’t get the plum jobs.

The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectable.

They never proposed “more experts” when interest rates were repeatedly cut to almost zero… what happened there, I wonder?

“yet more economists will be added to the RBA’s already massive staff. And a new program will fund university research in monetary economics, spreading some joy among those who don’t get the plum jobs”
All Keynesian clones, they will be no better than picking one at random and listening to him. If it was 50:50 Keynesians and Austrians I would give it some credence.
20
Jo, I’ve just sent you 2 (or is it 3) emails re Tucker.
I can’t post them as they were sent to my account.
Please repost them ASAP…
30
If Tucker does a show from his home, I hope he has a better setting than most experts do on their home broadcasting. A door and some vertical blinds with beige walls in the background of a tiled floor room with echo and an apple ear piece is not acceptable. Sky News Australia take note.
70
Philip, he works from home already. Those shots you thought were at a million dollar Fox Studio were from his home…
90
wow! No I did not know that.

We need the likes of Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson et al to coalesce and form a nucleus! Medusa must die that we might live as free men and women again or sink into the mire of slavery!

That keynote speech is worth watching it. He certainly likes a chat and brings with it a lot of character and intelligence. He will do better doing his own thing.
90
Let’s see how my crystal ball is working this morning.
Tomorrow’s newsflash. Dominion sues Carlson and the FBI announces his arrest.
80
Almost exactly 24 hours later and no.
02
Fox Corp stock prices already plummeting, down from $31 to under $30 in first day of trading after news of Tucker being ousted. Lots of people on social media saying they are done with Fox News and most have cancelled their Fox Nation subscriptions. Not to be outdone by Bud Light in the Trans Can uproar, Fox News says hold my beer…..
141
And in other news the auto thingy does its thing if it sees anything a bit too thingy.
50
Partly due to some unwritten part of the settlement with Dominion would be my guess. Other part due to the “change of the guard” at Fox with Rupert handing control over to the youngsters who are much more under the influence of the like of Ryan (and the need for public acceptance) – they were waiting for a suitable excuse – they will suffer the same fate as Bud Light and BB&T over time.

That’s the simple answer.
The news wasn’t das gubermint’s official lying narrative news, so bye bye.
Bye bye days after exposing the MSM’s tv-based pushing of Fakevax ™ for big pharma ad revenue.
The global craziness has turned from a dust devil to a cyclone.
The lies across the board have been exposed, the ramifications of those lies obvious to more and more of the great unwashed, the plans cultured over decades to control mankind by end-of-life billionaire sociopaths exposed and coming unravelled, hence the push for more and more control, that they may see their utopian dreams materialise before they shuffle off.
How long now before everything against the narrative is censored, blocked or shadow-banned (yes, Twitter is back to its old tricks)?
You can shut the gate but the horse has bolted.
History repeats because human nature never changes.
The west is dying like so many empires before it and everything you see is just proof of that.
Ban and censor everything. It doesn’t matter because they have designed and sealed their own fate (and ours too) and the clock is ticking faster and faster.
You know the timeframe.😎
70
For a punt –
Things must be going really badly in Ukraine?
50
How would anyone know unless they made an effort to find out? it’s not like facts ever get in the way of a good MSM story about Ukraine, be it pro-Ukrainian, or pro-Russian.

JP Reacts gives his views and speculations on Tucker’s firing:

Tucker Carlson would be the most influential presenter on the planet and his departure will significantly boost the chances of victory for the Democrats in 2024. There is no way that Fox News would part ways voluntarily and the immediate $600M drop in their share price is just the start of a big slide. I’m guessing he was part of the out-of-court settlement payout to Dominion, even though his own show was not really a key offender. We know that Dominion is tightly connected to the Democrats, so it makes sense that they acted together and used the deformation case to political advantage to remove the one person that threatens them the most, especially with the big breaking stories on systemic corruption that could destroy their own party if fully exposed. IMO – It’s a sad day for democracy 🙁

I urge people to listen to Joe Rogan’s recent 2 1/2 hour discussion with Michael Schellenberger, wherein they discussed the changing landscape of world media.
Podcasters like Rogan, who was mercilessly vilified during Covid, had hasbeen musical artists attempting to exert pressure on Spotify to cancel him, received TWO MILLION MORE subscribers because he was providing engaging fact based extensive discussions, straight from the horses mouth with a wide range of guests.
That increase is two thirds of Carlson’s complete viewership, taking Rogan over the 11m subscriber mark!
Carlson could do worse than to find a platform, work on subscription only and not be beholden to advertisers who want to influence the content they are trying to piggyback off in the first place, or weak executives who cave to groupthink!
Carlson has an appetite for the truth, regardless of affiliated politics and as his recent interviews with Trump and Musk show, a Rogan style podcast means getting into a story, not neatly packaged 3 minute soundbites.
100
Here’s a general question. Who is the most influential media person in the world today? The answer really should be Joe Rogan. He has an enormous following on his podcast and the whole show just works. I know a lot on this blog would disagree because they dont do Twitter or Podcasts, but that form of media is the way of the future. Plus its also profitable. These days I gladly spend hours listening to his podcasts interviewing all sorts of people. Carlson could do the exact same thing. So, basically I would agree with everything you say.
40
Agreed, that’s why I listen to Rogan. He has an eclectic range of guests, who you can take or leave, but he basically gets out of the way of the guest to allow them to explain their reasoning, not just provide soundbites.
He gives a valuable platform to critical thinkers and admits when he’s out of his depth and the length of the discussions allow for education of the listeners. His interviews with Robert Malone have enlightened me no end and give a far better understanding of the science surrounding covid as well as the politics.
10
Apparently, Fox et al lost their nerve or have been drinking Bud Lite. I didn’t believe everything that Carlson spouted due to his severe case of TDS (Trump Derangement Shndrome), but he had the nerve to dig into society’s problems. That took some courage, whicjh Carlson had and Fox didn’t. Seems that Carlson scared the people at Fox. The owners at Fox were too terrified of Carlson’s courage, to accept the flood of profitable “eyes” that he brought to the network. Looks like a herd of Uniparty suck-ups. There is no way to work with those “weenies”. They were terrified by the type of programming that attacted viewers. They can always show Disney cartoons and fantasies about gender change.
21
I watched TCN every day and have for years. I have not noticed any TDS, in fact he had him on a special program the other day for an extended interview. It was not prickly in the manner of “our” ABC with anybody to the right of Trotsky.
70
Let’s face it, Tucker Carlson took it as far as he could on FOX. Hell, he was their biggest star. I think it’s a money thing. These days I’m a mad conspiracy theorist and just follow the $. FOX couldn’t afford him anymore, he was already broadcasting out of his home, so he needs a holiday ( who would blame him ) or wants to do something different. Twitter and Elon? Elon M wants to do bigger things with Twitter. He is slowly turning the Twitter ship around, making it profitable etc. I think he has bigger plans for the whole platform. You cant make money from lefty Twitterati complaining about transphobes can you? What better way to enlarge the platform than hire the likes of TC to do 1/2 hour shows via your Twitter Blue check subscription. There’s probably at least a million followers who might drop their FOX subscription and move to Twitter.
40
Tucker Carlson’s show was perceived as unpatriotic in the US.
And that’s not acceptable in a country of one eyed Americans.
In the greatest country in the world you are expected to conform.
It’s your duty . .
29
If not being patriotic in the US is an impediment, why don’t dems ever stand in front of, or wave, their flag?
Tucker was TOO patriotic.
61
“why don’t dems ever stand in front of, or wave, their flag?”
That’s a very good point- probably tied into a New World Order or similar idea where they themselves are at the top and countries don’t matter so much. Certainly, being a patriotic American now is seen as being far-right wing and next to terrorism.
Ah- the Left are always seeing the world in terms of rich and poor and the under-privileged, rather than in terms of countries and borders. It’s why they are hot on calling the Russians Nazis now, Russia has suddenly become very Right-wing without changing at all.
So next year’s war won’t be America against China, it will be all about the poor oppressed peoples of Taiwan who need protecting and rescuing.
20
Perceived as unpatriotic by whom? Those for whom patriotism is a dirty word maybe? I very much question your contention.
62
I have to disagree here. Tucker’s supports are all die hard flag lovers who will die for their country. The lefties on the other side hate their country and would sooner burn the flag and cancel their history.
70
You aren’t an American, are you. Tucker’s show was very highly looked upon by conservatives. Might have been considered unpatriotic by Democrats but then they don’t understand what being a patriot means.
70
Depends on who you relate to and how they get their information. If they are getting it from the MSM then probably they will have been kept in the dark about people with aspirations to free speech like Tucker Carlson. On the other hand, people who get their information largely via alternative media outlets will be up to date with the war between free speech and those forces that want to suppress critical thinking and free speech.
10
Why Tucker got fired, who controls the media, and whats next for Tucker:
https://youtu.be/M1YSyKTbiIM
20
I suspect it’s a Murdoch Family succession shakeup.
Tucker Carlson was supported by Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch but opposed by James Murdoch
Lachlan is Chairman of 21st Century Fox and chairman and CEO of Fox Corp.
But the Dominion and Smartmatic lawsuits appear to have weakened Lachlan’s position- Lachlan and Rupert were the defendants in both cases.
Elisabeth and Prudence Murdoch support James’ ambitions.
30
We have a lot of ancient billionaires out there, as they die off we are going to have to get used to their useless children wielding their power in dumb ways.
Useless kids, trained to be useless by their distracted parents, now dangerous kids because they have all that money, no sense and no controlling parent.
At least the likes of Paris Hilton was fairly benign, although incredibly stupid and contemptible, at least most of us were not impacted by her antics.
I suspect the benign billionaire’s offspring is a thing of the past as the newer ones will be easily lobbied into supporting faux green and woke causes.
20

The Real reason Tucker was sacked, His last video says it all.
20
I’ve listened to many opinions today and am now convinced it has nothing to do with Dominion or any other history.
This is billionaires playing politics and the big prize is the 2024 Presidential election and Murdoch is cleaning out any pro-Trump people. [Don Bongino was also axed.] It seems that DeSantis is the chosen one.
I don’t bother with Hannity much and can’t remember if he is pro Trump. He and Levin are a couple [not in THAT way] so are they at risk?
40
Would Tucker make a good VP for Trump?
20
No mention of Tucker on Fox’s “Special report” 6 pm April 24.
00
Sadly
Is this just the start of worldwide conflict and the shake up of power bases or just the long march through by the Marxist forces seeking wall to wall domination, who knows. Is it also the changing of the guard where the movers and shakers are decidedly the puppets or talking heads of the more powerful and they will know it? no place for rebels? or can they realign or coalesce using A.I to write their scenarios. Possibly this whole thing and the upcoming Coronation will keep us underlings amused, concerned and glued to our personal screens just as planned. And will the world be a better place, stay tuned it is all happening and you won’t need to get out of your arm chair, Stand by for more?
30
I saw Tucker’s first unedited take on the Jan 6th tapes. He clearly stated that the protestors had good reason to question the election. His presentation destroyed in less than an hour the narrative the Dems and the Never Trumpers had carefuly cultivated for two years.
With the next election cycle upon us, they can’t let anybody who can effectively call into question election integrity, and the fact that the elections are fixed, a major platform. And yes Fox was involved.
All you need to do to understand this is listen to what the back benchers on CNN and MessNBC are saying. It’s all about shutting up those who have questioned the integrity of US elections.
80
As Hanrahan pointed out at 9.12 pm, Dan Bongino is also gone from Fox just before the Tucker announcement. Bongino says that there was no animosity, they just couldn’t come together on a new contract. It seems too coincidental to me. Apologies to the ‘Bard,’ but there is something wrong in the Kingdom of Denmark.
10
The man himself, Dan Bongino, says, “No. There is no connection between what happened with him, and Tucker Carlson.” That is good to now.
