Several commentators have made passing references to what sounds like a draconian clampdown on Free Speech in Australia

    https://www.infowars.com/posts/a-new-law-is-about-to-kill-free-speech-and-democracy-in-australia/

Perhaps Jo can interpret it as it certainly sounds as if it might affect this blog or at the least require much harsher moderation

Tony, I wrote about the potential ACMA laws here in August. They are indeed, awful. “the truth” might be misinformation. See how this works?
I don’t see how I could keep comments open without full time moderators and that perhaps is the point?

Though I believe — not long back I saw similarish laws had passed through the UK parliament? Was it this? https://techcrunch.com/2023/09/19/online-safety-bill-passed/

According to the uk govt the intention is not to reduce free speech but it’s a complicated bill and until a few cases come to prominence I guess we won’t know how the bill will be used in real world situations

We know exactly how it is going to be used … enforced selectively against high profile political opponents at key times when narrative control is needed.

We are dealing with people who have already admitted they can’t win by honest and open debate, therefore you should expect them to try it on, “By Any Means Necessary”.

We could expand on this idea.

‘ … revert to permanent satire or salad-coded language …’

The Netizens in China are practicing this approach, at risk of being sent to prison.

Biden Moves To Seize Control Of Internet

“President Biden’s plan hands the Administrative State effective control of all Internet services and infrastructure in the country. Never before, in the roughly 40-year history of the public Internet, has the FCC (or any federal agency for that matter) claimed this degree of control over it. Indeed, President Biden’s plan calls for the FCC to apply a far-reaching set of government controls that the agency has not applied to any technology in the modern era, including Title II common carriers,” Carr said in a statement on Monday.

Read websites like this one while you can. Federal bureaucrats are unlikely to find anything to the right of all the way left to be consistent with the principles of equity.

          https://moonbattery.com/biden-moves-to-seize-control-of-internet/

Looks like Biden won’t be running for re-election and he’d lose badly anyway. No rigging election results this time around.
The neocons are accelerating the Gaza war hoping to force Iran’s hand so they can kick off WW3.
The WEF’s plans are failing, people are waking up en-masse, the green lies and dreams are exposed for the shams they are, and the great banking reset (wipeout) draws closer.
Better say it all now, just in case. 😉

            Old “joke”:

            Q. How do you identify an honest politician?

            A. When they are bought, they STAY bought.

See also, the words od Marcus Tullius Cicero:

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear”

Our Dear “Leader” is not even here most of the time.

He’s had 18 overseas trips in 18 months.

Here’s a true globalist and is no doubt colluding with some of the world’s most wicked people to bring very bad things to Australia and the West in general.

Australia is seen as an ideal model for globalist policies, not too big, not too small, and with a population that’s mostly highly gullible, passive and apathetic (except for extremist Leftist activists).

Whatever the Left can get away with in Australia, is watched closely by the Elites. Covid for example, demonstrated thst a voting majority of Australians would accept just about any junk “science” promoted by government and removal of remaining individual rights. Most people also accept the anthropogenic global warming fraud.

And what of all the CO2 all those flights produce, LoL?

The “indigenous leaders”, (that is the people who have for many years been taking all the billions meant for the disadvantaged aboriginal communities), don’t want to go the way of the corrupt Geoff Clark, (dethroned), and ATSIC, (abolished).
That’s why they want their privileges cemented into the constitution so the gravy train cannot be stopped and their snout remain securely in the trough.
That’s why “The Voice” will not help disadvantage, because without disadvantaged families and communities, the role of these bureaucratic fiefdoms becomes irrelevant.

Emperor Xi Jinping – probably the most dangerous man in the world,

Trudeau – the comrades Canada, truckies bank blockade, euthanasia for all!

our own Dan Andrews – Victoriastan need I say more?

Dame Jacinda Kate Laurell Ardern – Another who could read the writing on the wall and bolted before the people could have the pleasure of turfing her out 🙁

Klaus Schwab – our best mate who will look after all the little people

António Guterres – UN would be if he could be but I hope never to be.

And don’t forget the most generous Anthony Fauci who gave so much knowledge to science to advance our understanding of how to cope with a pandemic

Gender dysphoria is a very real and unpleasant reality for those truly affected.

Sadly the reality has been distorted by political manipulators who use it as a weapon to beat the general population into place.

The image created by the LGBTQRH leaders is far from the truth of the situation and the offering of “fixes” through surgery and or hormonal therapy is an ugly reminder of how easily people can be misled.

Transgenderism today is a social contagion and heavily promoted by the Left, especially to children.

The extent of this tragedy and the mutilating and sterilising “treatments” offered is yet to be fully revealed. But very few, if any, such people are genuine cases.

True cases seem to be genuine but exceptionally rare involving prenatal developmental influences resulting in a male brain in a female body and vice versa.

Of course, this should cause Leftist heads to explode because even though they embrace and promote transgenderism, it actually means that they would have to acknowledge sex differences in human brains which they deny exist.

They clearly haven’t thought it through, like most of their garbage.

They have thought it through though David. It is part of the plan to destroy the West and why not start with the children? Destroy the family and the most basic building block of a society crumbles soon to be followed by the rest.

          • #

            Agreed Lawrie.

The Left’s plan is most definitely to destroy the family including traditional gender roles and sexual differentiation.

They are prepared to overlook their core belief of “no differences betwwwn male and female brains” against their greater objective of family destruction.

They claim behavioural differences between men and women are due to socialization but clearly this is not true. Even females given testosterone notice changes in their thinking and behaviour.

            E.g. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/08/150831001124.htm

Testosterone changes brain structures in female-to-male transsexuals

            https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/030645309400076X

The administration of androgens to females was clearly associated with an increase in aggression proneness, sexual arousability and spatial ability performance. In contrast, it had a deteriorating effect on verbal fluency tasks. The effects of cross-sex ] hormones were just as pronounced in the male-to-female group upon androgen deprivation: anger and aggression proneness, sexual arousability and spatial ability decreased, whereas verbal fluency improved. This study offers evidence that cross-sex hormones directly and quickly affect gender specific behaviours. If sex-specific organising effects of sex hormones do exist in the human, they do not prevent these effects of androgen administration to females and androgen deprivation of males to become manifest.

Didn’t look at the reference for the last point but just wonder if their findings are “real” or just another piece of academic reinforcement to justify “transition” surgery and hormone therapy.

The whole business is messy, but undoubtedly could be fixed with financial support for the universities undertaking “research” into the matter.

A recent newspaper article on a Kenyan 800 metres runner described how she had the external V as evidence of her sex but also had incipient testes that influenced her hormone balance.

“The “cycle of abuse” gets a stick in the spokes.”

“The sexually abused-sexual abuser hypothesis posits that persons, especially males, who are sexually abused as children are at particular risk of sexually abusing others later in life. We tested this hypothesis by prospectively examining associations between maltreatment and offending in a birth cohort of 38,282 males with a maltreatment history and/or at least one finalized offense. We examined these associations within the context of the wider birth population. Proportionally few boys were the subject of official notifications for sexual abuse (14.8% of maltreated boys, and 1.4% of the birth population); proportionally very few of these sexually abused boys (3%) went on to become sexual offenders; and, contrary to findings typically reported in retrospective clinical studies, proportionally few sexual offenders (4%) had a confirmed history of sexual abuse.”

Dumb bloody Poms, they did the same in the ’60s and it all collapsed after throwing billions into ‘saving’ the industry. BMC anyone?

Same here in Aussie, all the taxpayer money poured into Ford & Holden just made overseas billionaires richer and kept a few jobs running an extra year or 5. Even the American car industry was broken up after the Govt put $50billion into GM, and it still goes on!

The first line of any constitution should say Govt is not allowed to subsidise or bail-out any company! Those are NOT ‘jobs’ that they save!

Not only did STEVE make a reappearance – Strong Thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement, a mauve coloured, high altitude, nitrogen (?) streak scintillating at 3,000*C – but even rarer SAR arcs were photographed – Stable Auroral Red arcs – first ‘discovered’ back in 1956, and sighted here in NZ, high above Lake Tekapo, in 2015. There’s a link in the article to Peter Griffin’s 2022 paper re his 2015 ‘sighting’ at the Mt John Observatory.

“Game Changer for Vitamin D” – Supplementation Found To Improve Cancer Survival

in a new commentary published in the journal JAMA Network Open, Michael F. Holick, Ph.D., MD, professor of medicine, pharmacology, physiology & biophysics, and molecular medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, explores the controversy as to whether improving vitamin D status has any benefit for reducing the risk of developing cancer as well as improving relapse-free and mortality outcomes.

He believes the results of the Kanno et al. study support the significant body of associated evidence and clinical studies concluding that improvement in vitamin D status through vitamin D supplementation can be an effective strategy for improving survival outcomes of cancers, especially of the digestive tract including colorectal cancer.

Factors Influencing Vitamin D’s Effect on Cancer

“We now recognize that there are a variety of variables that can influence how vitamin D prevents and responds to cancer. For example, being at a normal weight and taking vitamin D improves your ability to survive cancer. Other factors include the patient’s genetic makeup and how the patient utilizes and breaks down vitamin D,” explains Holick, corresponding author of the piece.

The study by Kanno et. al. provides further insight. The p53 gene produces the p53 protein to prevent cells from becoming malignant. Cancer cleverly mutates this gene and the mutated p53 protein helps the cancer to grow and become immune to cancer therapy. Kanno et. al. found that patients whose immune system is on high alert and produces antibodies to control the production and release of this mutated p53 protein were more likely, by more than 2.5 fold, to improve their chances of surviving the cancer if they also took daily 2000 IUs vitamin D3 compared to patients who had the antibodies but did not take vitamin D supplementation. Those patients who did not produce the antibodies received no survival benefit by taking the vitamin D supplement.”

    https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2808574

In fact, radiation in a number of spectrums, has major effects on the body, not just vit D from the sun and IR, especially early morning sun. A topic for later.

    Bonhoeffer on stupidity

‘Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed- in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self-satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

‘If we want to know how to get the better of stupidity, we must seek to understand its nature. This much is certain, that it is in essence not an intellectual defect but a human one. There are human beings who are of remarkably agile intellect yet stupid, and others who are intellectually quite dull yet anything but stupid. We discover this to our surprise in particular situations. The impression one gains is not so much that stupidity is a congenital defect, but that, under certain circumstances, people are made stupid or that they allow this to happen to them. We note further that people who have isolated themselves from others or who live in solitude manifest this defect less frequently than individuals or groups of people inclined or condemned to sociability. And so it would seem that stupidity is perhaps less a psychological than a sociological problem. It is a particular form of the impact of historical circumstances on human beings, a psychological concomitant of certain external conditions. Upon closer observation, it becomes apparent that every strong upsurge of power in the public sphere, be it of a political or of a religious nature, infects a large part of humankind with stupidity. It would even seem that this is virtually a sociological-psychological law. The power of the one needs the stupidity of the other. The process at work here is not that particular human capacities, for instance, the intellect, suddenly atrophy or fail. Instead, it seems that under the overwhelming impact of rising power, humans are deprived of their inner independence, and, more or less consciously, give up establishing an autonomous position toward the emerging circumstances. The fact that the stupid person is often stubborn must not blind us to the fact that he is not independent. In conversation with him, one virtually feels that one is dealing not at all with a person, but with slogans, catchwords and the like that have taken possession of him. He is under a spell, blinded, misused, and abused in his very being. Having thus become a mindless tool, the stupid person will also be capable of any evil and at the same time incapable of seeing that it is evil. This is where the danger of diabolical misuse lurks, for it is this that can once and for all destroy human beings.

‘Yet at this very point it becomes quite clear that only an act of liberation, not instruction, can overcome stupidity. Here we must come to terms with the fact that in most cases a genuine internal liberation becomes possible only when external liberation has preceded it. Until then we must abandon all attempts to convince the stupid person. This state of affairs explains why in such circumstances our attempts to know what ‘the people’ really think are in vain and why, under these circumstances, this question is so irrelevant for the person who is thinking and acting responsibly. The word of the Bible that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom declares that the internal liberation of human beings to live the responsible life before God is the only genuine way to overcome stupidity.

‘But these thoughts about stupidity also offer consolation in that they utterly forbid us to consider the majority of people to be stupid in every circumstance. It really will depend on whether those in power expect more from people’s stupidity than from their inner independence and wisdom.’

-Dietrich Bonhoeffer, from ‘After Ten Years’ in Letters and Papers from Prison (Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works/English, vol. 8) Minneapolis, MN: Fortress Press, 2010.

Not many media outlets have mentioned this …

“”Xi Jing Ping met with the Prime Minister of Serbia and the Prime Minister of Cuba on the same day that he met with Anthony Albanese.”.”

The Interenet and mobile phone were out of action for many hours today because of a system failure in Optus.
My dear wife suggested it was the Chinese Communist Party reminding our Prime Minister who was boss after the recent meeting of heads.

Optus seems to have no idea of what the problem was / is , one thing we do know though is the CEO was busy today doing a glamour fashion shoot at her mansion instead of fronting the news cameras .

Stellantis’ new Ram pickup is an EV — with a gas-powered generator in case the battery runs out

DETROIT — Automaker Stellantis plans to produce an industry-first electric pickup truck called the Ram 1500 Ramcharger that’s equipped with an electric generator and a gas engine.

If that sounds like an oxymoron, here’s how it works: The truck can operate as a zero-emissions EV until its battery dies and an electric onboard generator — powered by a 27-gallon, 3.6-liter V6 engine — kicks on to power the vehicle.

The outcome is a truck with the benefits of an EV, such as fast acceleration and some zero-emissions driving, without the range anxiety synonymous with most current electric vehicles, according to Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis.

“This is the ultimate answer for the battery-electric truck. No one else has got anything else like it,” Kuniskis told reporters during an event. “This is going to be a game changer for battery-electric trucks.”

So… 3tons for the non-electric version, what will it weigh with an electric motor and a giant battery as well.

They’ll have to rebuild the multi-storey carparks..

Should tow a good boat though.

I think this ‘carbon skidmarks’ campaign from UK C4 is supposed to be humorous? But it’s just ridiculous and unpleasant. A bit like blowing up school kids and dropping polar bears out of the sky. Climate propagandists think nothing is too far when promoting their faith?
