In the annual tournament for cash handouts, the UN now enables charity for space-faring nations with slaves. Somehow, the demands for climate reparations were led by the nation burning more coal than the rest of the world combined, and no one laughed, or wondered whether they should mention it.
… a group of 77 developing countries, led by China, called for $US1.3 trillion a year in new, additional, adequate and affordable finance to address mitigation, adaptation and loss and damage.
–-Graham Lloyd, The Australian
It’s almost as if the CCP invented the UN definition of “developing” as an industrial weapon.
Like most developing nations, two weeks ago China launched a manned spacecraft with propellants made from natural gas, and coal because it could not afford to use solar panels and windmills.
For the moment, the world’s poor have to settle for using unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) and nitrogen tetroxide (N2O4) to get their citizens in orbit.
China’s space exploration plans include bringing back the first samples from Mars, and from the near-Earth asteroid Kamo’oalewa, and to look for ice in craters on the moon.
What’s the point when we call a nation “developed” — when it wrecks its own electricity grid?
Is any sentient peson surprised?
How can you spot an “honest politician”?
Once they are bought, they STAY bought.

Belt & Road Bankers want their money back from corrupt governments via a UN mandate……1.3T/year.
The music has stopped and the bill is due.
They all want access to the Fed printer. This is bound to get ugly as Musk may not be in agreement despite Tesla’s Chinese assets.
The Democrats have one last chance to bankrupt the US dollar. What will Biden do? Kowtow or hide? Stuck between the world’s spy agencies and China.
Can the Earth be saved by the “Printer”?
Biden wants a guaranteed pardon for treason. China wants control of the Euro and USD.
Trump thinks everything is negotiable.
What could go wrong?
190
Or like Trump, they’re too rich to be bought.
30
Trump’s views on Climate Change are quite clear.
He will pull the USA out of the Paris agreement once again and the money supply will be severely affected.
EU, AUS, NZ and Canada will continue to support the nonsense but hopefully will come up short with the money!
That is the best I can hope for.
590
Peter, if we don’t revert back to a pre-Yorkshireman lifestyle of living in thatched huts (or caves when it rains) and eating birds (oh wait, they’re extinct) by 2030, New Zealanders will owe somebody $24,000,000,000 to help Tuvaluans sleep easy at night or Al Gore buy yet another seaside mansion.
Save The Earth = Spend A Fortune
(and never mind the children)
Private jets aren’t cheap to run y’know.

This has been pushed hard in the US for a long time.
It’s already deeply embedded in the legislation and should be torn out.
This same thing has been spread all over the western world.
It’s worth a look.

Trump is a turning point. The Zeitgeist has changed from pro global boiling to what..?
China is taking the p..s. They didn’t even turn up in Azerbaijan whose president said oil, gas and coal are gifts from God. But the taliban had got wind of China’s joke about reparations and turned up. They want dosh for the climate hardship they’re going through. Ditto for the pacific Island grifters who are standing waist deep in water complaining about sea level rise.
In Australia we are being driven off a cliff by albo and blackout who are still in their first year at Uni being activists. 3 things have to happen for the grotesque lie of global boiling to end in Australia:
1 Albo and the rest of his climate nutters are thrown out of office.
2 The LNP grow intestines and treat global boiling as the joke it is.
3 The abc has to be closed down. The msm is still peddling climate garbage and the abc leads the pack of idiots. But to close the abc would take real courage from the LNP. Are they capable of it…?
100
Developed world citizens (USA & others) buy goods from China. China banks the dollars, Euros, Pounds etc.,. The in-debt USA has to borrow money from China to support the slush funds of the ClimateCult™.
There is a problem with this.
331
We should pull out of this net zero fra-d and con trick ASAP and stop all future spending on toxic W & S and only build reliable long lasting base-load power from FFs or Nuclear.
Who really believes we should waste trillions of $ and destroy thousands of klms of our land and sea environments and replace this toxic lunacy every 15 to 20 years and all for SFA change to temperature or climate?
Do we really want to follow Germany + EU and the UK etc down the road to a much lower standard of living?
420
Australia could be a much wealthier and safer country if we quickly developed our energy reserves properly and then spent more of our money to defend ourselves and help our neighbours.
If we don’t do this other stronger countries will certainly take advantage of our weakness and stupidity.
430
Neville, you are far too sensible and I would have thought you would know that politicians, and unfortunately, those who vote for them, are not. We should be building coal fired power stations because they are easier to build and we have the infrastructure already in place. We should then electrify the rail network to reduce our dependency on diesel imports. Tim Fisher wanted to do that 30 years ago. He had to settle for the Adelaide to Darwin railway which is very handy with much of our military in the North and our diminishing manufacturing in the South.
290
Neville, we’ve been invading your land since we ‘cut ties’ with the colony of New South Wales way back in the 1800s. No boats for us – we fly across in luxury!
Go west, young men and women, thar’s sand in them thar hills 😃
80
New Zealand was part of the Colony of New South Wales until Federation of States 1901 and creation of the Commonwealth of Australia, New Zealand decided not to become a state.
90
New Zealand ceased being a part of NSW on on 1st July 1841.
50
Hear! Hear! Even up in the Abode of the Gods (him-AAA-laya) your reception is onto it, David.
Odd how some staunch part-Maori want to regress to the daze [sic] of 1840 when we were part of NSW – we’d all have to (re)learn how to speak Stryne – no way Jose! Or would that be Hone / Johnny?
Are you trekking via Tatopani hot springs in the Annapurna? Mmm, fresh hot water at altitude 🔥
80
Thanks Greg. I am not doing Annapurna, I did Base Camp last time. I am in the Langtang Valley and associated areas.
40
I can guess what the 47th President of the United States of America, Donald J Trump, will say to that Chinese suggestion!
But I will save the moderators the effort to tidy up!!
I also know that the media and the lefties will all have a collective melt down (while secretly relieved they won’t have to cough up $$$)
160
The capitalist rocket, Starship, uses methane and liquid oxygen. Very clean burning.
You don’t get any more “environmentally friendly” than that.
The communist rocket uses UDMH which is toxic and a probable carcinogen.
280
That Chinese coal graph is insurmountable proof that climate change agenda is simply anti-western, because no one complains about China.
The per capita retort is the number one excuse. Which shows it is not about coal and carbon dioxide, it’s about equity. Therefore, they support burning coal as long as everyone gets the same amount. How else can you explain their complete lack of criticism of China? Well, it’s obvious, China is not white.
230
They only complain about Western Democracies. They are the only ones who will tolerate it and even send money. No one else cares and therefore they are exempt. In China you would vanish as an Green activist. Or invited to Tienamen Square for a demonstration.
And when do the Scottish and Irish and Welsh and Cornish get some cash and an apology for the industrial revolution? What about those Dark Satanic Mills which so influenced Karl Marx?
70
It seems aborgines in Australia get $42Billion for the same reason. If there are 42,000 of them in the bush (NT is only 250,000) that’s a million dollars a year each. Even if there are 420,000 living outside urban areas, that’s $100,000 cash pa every year. Why don’t we see rich aborigines in the bush?
90
Good tactic by the CCP, continue to weaken developed nations and strengthen China, and plan to achieve a no war based takeover to create vassal states.
210
It surprised me when Trump said in the last few days, that the USA needs fossil fuels for its energy. With a country the size and population density of the US, I would think nuclear would be their main focus (and yes he did add, as well as nuclear). A lot of people to power you want the densest energy possible.
For Australia, we have a small population and loads of coal beneath where people live, and so we should use coal.
It amazes me the low population argument NEVER comes up.
It kind of does when people say if Aus didn’t exist it would make no difference to emissions at all, but that’s it. We have low population, we get a pass, even if co2 theory was correct.
200
Until there is enough nuclear energy to power the roads for induction-engined vehicles, fossil fuels are surely still going to be needed for transport. And they look like being needed even longer for air transport.
130
Yes you’re right. I think my mind went to electricity production. Of course he’s talking of petrol and diesel.
10
That’s assuming ’emissions’ are of any consequence. They aren’t. There is zero impact of fossil fuel CO2 on total CO2 anyway. It’s all a lie and the Chinese know it, as do most.
Look at the graph of Chinese ’emissions’ above.
Now look at the graph of world CO2 growing at an astounding 0.4% per year. If only inflation was so low.
90
How do they explain the lack of correlation between the world and China rates?
30
No one bothers. No scientists were harmed in the creation of this hoax. Total emissions at today’s rate are only 1% of what is in the air already which is 2% of the total of ocean and atmosphere. It’s nothing.
60
China is not asking for any money for themselves. G77 + China has over 100 members and is the primary spokespeople for the developing countries as a whole. The number is absurd but it is not for Chine in fact one of the big issues on the COP 29 table is China paying. The Treaty list of developing countries dates from 1992. China says they will pay some but are still developing on a per capita basis.
81
Australia is still in recession on a per capita basis. Can we tap in too?
180
This so-called “climate crisis” is an ingenious way to finance thousands of billions of money from governments over decades, and then say, look, there was no crisis, we have succeeded.
Of course, the clever ones may question such a conclusion, but one does not listen to their disinformation. After all, they make the bizarre claim that if the money had been spent on the welfare of the nation, things would be much better.
70
That may change when their population starts to plunge.
60
Meant as a reply to David at #10.
20
Bizarre hypocrisy! Nuff said.
40
So, Senator Babet is going to COP29. As a climate realist, it would seem he’s going to observe the circus in real time. Maybe he will sit in the back of the meeting Bowen is co-chairing and heckle him. Babet is flying 30 hrs to get there via normal airlines and arrived 2 am yesterday after nil sleep. How’s Bowen getting there and is he taking anyone with him? Is Chrissy flying RAAF style in luxury- probably, and wont see the irony in burning lots of jet fuel producing CO2 that he thinks causes global boiling.
160
Senator Babet, United Australia Party, Victoria is fantastic.
I wish more people knew of his work and viewpoints.
Few members of the Thinking Community would disagree with much of what he says.
190
no he isn’t. And, as for the suggestion that people should know of his work??? He does no work for parliament – even the things he nominally participates in, he contributes nothing to.
123
Well Ok, maybe he isn’t Leafy if you say so, but there sure as hell is a really good impersonator of him posting on X.
100
I wouldn’t say Babet has been idle. He achieved a senate inquiry into higher levels of excess mortality in Australia in the last 3 years (it scraped through by 1 vote on the third attempt). As you can see in this link- the government did not give this issue the proper attention or objectivity that it deserves.
https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Senate/Community_Affairs/ExcessMortality47/Report/Dissenting_Report_from_Senator_Babet_of_the_United_Australia_Party
30
He was on the committee and turned up to a few hearings and did nothing else. Not a thing.
02
Geez Gee Aye, you’re a hard marker. I’d suggest Babet has poured a lot of energy into the inquiry. The inquiry would have been more revealing if the government published the majority of public submissions rather than opting to repress them

Just saw the news clip on Sky News showing Mr Trump and Sleepy Joe at the White House. In the background is a blazing log fire. Not too sure whether the fire is real or computer simulated.
However, if real, then not a good look for the Climate Alarmists.
100
Seems real. Link says Joe likes real fires:
https://fullservicechimney.com/facts-white-house-fireplaces/
Also, see:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Power_Plant
50
As with all the many rich left wingers, it’s do what I say, not do what I do. Leonardo Di Caprio has an exemption. So does Al Gore. And John Kerry. But I have to wonder about Kerry marrying into the Heinz fortune. Will the Greenies come for him with a huge bill for methane reparations? As documented in Blazing Saddles.
80
Burning Wood is not that much different to burning coal. Does the White House have Industrial Scrubbers at the top of the chimneys?
Climate Alarmists, where are you?
50
It’s far worse for particulate matter and lung problems
50
I was told that log fires were carbon neutral. I certainly intend to keep burning mine.
If you have ever noticed something about trees … they keep growing back!
00
I think the WH warming fire is gas. It’s a very stable, strong flame. Certainly not wood.

Blackout will be in Baku providing “Climate Leadership”:
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-11-13/what-can-we-expect-from-cop29/104598222
I cannot bear to watch this whole episode of carp but Blackout is in there somewhere.
The opening remarks about COP29 being held in Baku being a good satire is indeed factual.
70
I tolerated about 3 minutes of that carp (nice moderator evading tactic)

‘ … to look for ice in craters on the moon’ and also helium-3.
‘Traces of helium-3, a potential fuel source for nuclear fusion power plants and in limited supply on Earth, were identified in the lunar mineral leading to the CAEA’s interest.
‘According to the University of Wisconsin’s Fusion Technology Institute, the potential energy output from 40 grams of helium-3 is equivalent to 5,000 tons of coal. There are estimates by Seattle-based company Interlune, a helium-3 harvesting startup, that more than one million tons of helium-3 is the Moon just under the surface.’ (The Space Review)
31
I know some of our donkeys can’t understand very simple sums comparing Nuclear and toxic W & S and hydro + batteries etc, but I still think we all should add up the full cost + batteries just to store some of the energy.
Zoe Hilton at the CIS has a very short video adding up the full cost and tells us the horrendous price would be 301.8 billion $.
The cost to build Dutton’s 7 Nuclear power generators would be about 60 billion $ and they’d still be generating 24/7/365 reliable electricity well past 2100.
This informative video only takes about 6 minutes of your time and a second link shows their calculations.
I hope Jo also has the time to have a look.
https://www.cis.org.au/commentary/video/nuclear-vs-renewables-what-will-it-cost/
40
Of course the full toxic W & S cost doesn’t include endless replacements every 15 to 20 years and the trillions of $ cost of destroying so much of the environment of Eastern Australia.

Authoritarian CHINA = A GIANT SCAM
30
Oh, laugh out loud, uproariously in fact.
Hmm! Now why would China take this stance, you know, as we look upon now as being so cynical really.
Let’s look at something.
The link is to a page from the Wikipedia (oh sorry, people, but this is what induces my laughter)
UNFCCC at Wikipedia – dated 7Oct2006 (this entry an early one I found long ago, so long ago now)
Now, what happened (you know, with Wikipedia as it umm, ramped up) is that every man and his dog got to come in and add ‘stuff’ to the Wikipedia site. Now, innocently, they all thought they were adding that ‘stuff’ because their own (the writers to that site) umm, research, what they found from other sites, you know, like the actual United Nations UNFCCC site which was already monumentally humungous already. So the writers pull out little slices of information from that site and then insert it to the Wikipedia site.
Then, more and more and more, and then they hive off whole new areas for Wikipedia because it has now gotten so big, and down the years all those other sites get embiggened (thanks Homer) and have areas hived from them also.
So let’s go way back to that 2006 UNFCCC page and here’s just the two paragraphs that make me laugh so loudly, as people now wonder how China can be so cynical as to make these demands. The paragraphs, and keep in mind these are from the original UNFCCC site itself, even then 400 zillion pages long. (and here, I’m the one who added the bolding)
Now perhaps, there’s no need to wonder why. China is only doing what the UN said they could do, said, well, enshrined it into the future that is.
Now, Tony wonders to self ….. Hmm! Why IS China doing this?
Naah Tony, just laugh uproariously instead.
Tony.

Who dares to criticize China for anything? Even ridiculous hypocrisy. Not Penny Wong. She is too concerned with punishing Israel. That’s so Wong.
80
What’s a wok? No, not the cooking utensil.
It’s something you throw at a wabbitt when you haven’t got a wifle.
40
Why are there no Wings or Wongs in the Chinese Telephone Directory?
So that you don’t wing the wong number. Boom, boom.
30
After one of those gabfests during the Obama years (so, 2008-2016), Barack gleefully made the announcement that China was now on board and had committed to emissions reductions. Yay, all the sycophants yelled, the climate is saved! Later it was revealed they had only agreed to aspirational targets by the year 2030. Which was so far out in the future that it didn’t matter. So much BS regarding climate politics.
60
That 2030 date has now been pushed back to 2050. And by 2040 the date will be pushed back to……………another date……….
60
$1.3T is a lot of CCP chutzpa.

This article is vintage Jo; every sentence is like a knife thrust. By the time it’s over, the hapless foe is on the floor bleeding from a hundred wounds.
Gawd I love it!
