For years the CCP has been sending millions to US universities and NGOs to promote Green Energy

Xi Jinping, President of China

By Jo Nova

If you have the feeling that our universities are working for the enemy, you might be right

China is a developing nation, too poor to cut carbon emissions themselves, but somehow they can find the money to help the richest nation in the world reduce their fossil fuel use.

The Washington Free Beacon found a climate non-profit called Energy Foundation China was run by former Chinese Communist Party officials. Tax forms show they were sending money to US universities and other left-wing groups to help them research and promote things like “a clean energy future” and “low carbon cities”.  Money is ending up at places like Harvard, and UCLA, as well as nonprofits, like the International Council on Clean Transportation, and Natural Resources Defense Council.

China, it appears, is working hard to cut carbon emissions, in other people’s countries

Ex-CCP Officials Funneled Millions to US Universities, Nonprofits To Promote Green Energy, Tax Forms Show

Thomas Catenacci, Washington Free Post

Energy Foundation China, which operates primarily from Beijing, promotes energy policies designed to weaken US, watchdogs warn

“The Energy Foundation’s direct ties to the CCP are incredibly alarming, as they’ve spent millions to push for radical climate initiatives that favor China and harm American energy production,” Caitlin Sutherland, the executive director of ethics watchdog Americans for Public Trust, told the Free Beacon.

“Their dark money has been funneled to groups that want to ban gas stoves and phase out fossil fuels,” she continued. “Next year, Congress should continue their investigation to determine the extent to which China is undermining American energy dominance through this group.”

It couldn’t possibly be a cynical strategy to trick the soft, self absorbed West and gain industrial power. Noooooo…

Just ask “Who benefits?”

If the West chooses low-density, random energy in a fairy quest to get perfect weather, which nation stands to gain the most from our barking mad obsession?

As I’ve said before: the nation that is the coal furnace of the world, has gained our factories, our IP, our supply lines, and our dependence. They control the rare earths, and are the largest manufacturers of wind and solar power in the world. They are flooding the market with EVs.

They would be crazy if they didn’t support the leftist charity groups and pay off our politicians to cripple our grid.

Energy Foundation China

That’s $12 million in the last five years:

The Energy Foundation has given nearly $12 million for climate initiatives in the United States since 2020, according to a Free Beacon analysis.

If only we taught our children to think for themselves so they wouldn’t fall for these ridiculous stories

“The entanglement of this foundation with former Chinese Communist Party government officials, and its active engagement of U.S. academic institutions and other NGOs, is gravely troubling when it comes to our national security, foreign policy and energy policy, and how they may be compromised or undermined,” said former United States ambassador Joseph Cella, a cofounder of the Michigan-China Economic and Security Review Group.

“This seems to be a quasi-subnational incursion and influence operation by the CCP as they use our open system and existing tax law for leverage to gain an advantage economically, politically or in the realm of societal debates and public opinion,” he continued.

Tangled is the web: At the start this group was a US funded operation

In 1991 the Energy Foundation was started as a collaboration of Pew Charitable Trusts, the Rockefeller family, and the MacArthur Foundation, so very much a US based non-profit. In 1999, the Packard Foundation helped to set up an offspring called Energy Foundation China, with an office in Beijing.  But it seems that in the years since, the Chinese subsidiary may have quietly taken control, because after the official split in 2019, it retained the original tax file identification number and the San Francisco address, and the official name “Energy Foundation” but most of the staff are Chinese and the main operations and grant making activity are done in China.

After the split the other half of the organization became the “United States Energy Foundation”, and it has revenue of about $180 million. As “pass through” organisations they can take anonymous donations and send them on to politically active groups. The lines get very blurry about who influences what…

The activist left call Trump a dictator.

Think how they will feel when they find out they are tools of an actual dictator.

Milei hasn’t been listening. He’s made statement Argentina is going nuclear and aiming to attract AI industry.

Somone commented, “he has windy deserts available and he could harvest the cheapest energy available’. And just so happens they would buy the harvester from China. They have been listening.

“If only we taught our children to think for themselves”. That is exactly what I and others are working for in NSW, by promoting philosophy in the schools. It’s time for the 4th ‘R’ to be added to the essentials of education: Reading, Riting, Rithmetic and Reasoning. Let’s face it, the first three Rs aren’t worth a lot without the fourth R to bind them (a la Lord of the Rings).

Well, yes, I guess so. …. Only just that we learnt the 3″R”s and weren’t introduced to the 4th real R. We were taught about the missing W and A, but never saw the missing ” ” R. But as for “Lord of the Rings” … WE learnt Lord of the FLIES. so what does THAT say about our education. Certainly “shaped” me. For the better? Just leaves me so, ohso FRUSTRATED, with society. Often getting told to “Don’t think so much” – even by the younger generations ! ( to my anger and frustration) Tut tut! – and that makes it WORSE !

It’s precisely the same technique drug runners use to entice and sustain drug users. Get them hooked and supply the drug of choice at an escalating rate. Currently Fentanyl, originating in China, is flooding markets world wide just as they have done with solar panels etc. We have been totally subjugated by the Chinese system.

Xi ‘Art Of War / Ming’ save face while getting gweilo big-nose off their face en masse.

Apart from ‘legal’ pharma-suit-to-kill drug pushers, meth is the biggie among certain tribes here, with almost daily occurrences of fatal shootings or stabbings or hit-and-runs and even infanticide when ‘domestic violence’ gets out-of-hand. Sick.

Somehow James Cook & Queen Victoria are responsible for all of this. Thank goodness my partying daze* are well behind me – wouldn’t trust anyfink (as Jacinda would say, and she nose a thing or two) these days. Then again, lest we forget: The Opium Wars, all three of them… tallyho ol’ chap!

Let’s hope that Trump can make a big difference and if he makes other Western leaders wake up to the CC BS and the corruption of using more toxic W & S energy he will have done us all a great service and save us TRILLIONS of wasted $.

If we include the entire world co2 emissions trend compared to China the USA, EU 27, Canada, Australia etc we can see how early the steep co2 emissions trend for the world started.
Of course many other developing countries are involved to produce such an early and abrupt trend for world co2 emissions.
Obviously the global trend will continue for decades into the future, while the stupid OECD countries try to survive using the toxic, unreliable W & S disasters and batteries. Just ask BO Bowen.

    All hail green energy!

UK consumers have paid £1 billion this year to turn off wind farms and start-up gas plants

The UK is on track to waste a record amount of wind power in 2024. The grid can’t cope with the increase in the number of wind farms and blustery weather and so wind farms are being paid to turn off.

“So far this year, the UK has spent more than £1 billion ($1.3 billion) ($2.6B AUD) in ‘congestion costs’ to turn off plants that can’t deliver electricity because of grid constraints, and switch on others,” Bloomberg reports. A cost that is ultimately borne by consumers.

Economic Systems: The alarmists keep telling us their concern about global warming is all about man’s stewardship of the environment. But we know that’s not true. A United Nations official has now confirmed this.

At a news conference last week in Brussels, Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal of environmental activists is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism.

“This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution,” she said.

Referring to a new international treaty environmentalists hope will be adopted at the Paris climate change conference later this year, she added: “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model for the first time in human history.”

The only economic model in the last 150 years that has ever worked at all is capitalism. The evidence is prima facie: From a feudal order that lasted a thousand years, produced zero growth and kept workdays long and lifespans short, the countries that have embraced free-market capitalism have enjoyed a system in which output has increased 70-fold, work days have been halved and lifespans doubled.

But even during those Feudal years Capitalism dominated many transactions. I traded something to you that you valued for something I valued. We each got that little bit richer, or at least enriched our experience, for a moment. It’s the ONLY natural form of exchange and it’s been that way forever.

And, it was that nice chap Karl Marx who INVENTED the term “capitalism” in his quest to discredit the normal way of business.

He was ALL about the “equal sharing” of the goodies, or so he claimed, but fundamentally he and his toxic acolytes were all about a very selective redistribution of wealth and the means of production and the VERY specific “sharing of misery”.

Look at EVERY “socialist” experiment EVER. National socialism, German style, International socialism, Soviet and Chinese style, REAL socialism, Khner Roughe style

The per-capita body count is enlightening.

And, since WW2, these sort of “people” have burrowd deeper into an alliance with the Head-Loppers and enslavement enthusiasts that are the followers of the Sand Pirate.

Stupidly, they think that their “secular” religion will triumph over the more ancient (1400 years) political doctrine.

No sympathy for the devils, here; ever.

The woke stupid world and one of the highlights in Australia being the Federal and State governments permitting the flattening of hilltops, carving out access roads and transmission feeder lines to main grid destroying forests and native animal habitats but no Green Teal Labor objections.

And environmental groups continuing to spend money on television and other forms of advertising begging for donations to save wildlife, notably Koala.

The Chicomms are not stupid and have been around a long time.

They know, as do the leaders of the Left in the West, that the surest way to destroy a Civilisation is to deprive it of energy. This is exactly the strategy, under the guise that CO2 (what they call “carbon” (sic)) is “evil”; and hence the production of inexpensive reliable energy has to be stopped.

There is also a slave army of useful idiots of the Left (who have infested most institutions) who “just follow orders” and have no clue what’s going on, nor do they care to find out (and probably lack the cognitive skills to do so).

Yes, Russia has been the whipping boy for 200 years. But they won WWII at a loss of 20 million lives. And the next fifty years of poverty.
The US benefited greatly from WWII. So did we all as consumerism and mass production and cheap, fast travel and antibiotics and modern textiles changed our lives. The space race as well, to hide the developments of ICBMs. Micro computers. Even traffic lights.

But Russia does not have the dreams of world domination which are peculiar to China. Russia has been on the defensive since Napoleon.

As for cosying up to Iran, Turkey, North Korea, China, they are neighbours and detente is the solution. How would we like them as neighbours instead of half a planet away?

Even Trump is vilified to ‘talking to dictators’. That’s what you are supposed to do. It’s the job.

Everything China is doing to weaken its enemies, from stealing all technology to the Wuhan Flu to Fentanyl is done to a plan. And defended by Penny Wong.

You got +1 from me, but I see the Russia thing a bit differently: Having won WWII for us (or rather, started the win for us) the Soviet communists would have loved to conquer and rule the world. To my mind, they tried but failed, and that is what the Cold War was about. The west, led by the USA, was smart enough to see it coming, and determined enough to stop it happening. The Cold War was largely fought economically, and Russia had the weaker economy. I hope we collectively in the west are smart enough and determined enough again now that Xi Jinping’s China has embarked on his effort to conquer and rule the world. There’s little sign of resistance yet, but the next four years could change that.

Russia fought Germany and its allies all the way to Berlin. They even lost 250,000 soldiers in the battle of Berlin! On their own.

And do not forget all the countries allied with Germany. Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, Italy and many more. When you talk of Stalingrad, it was Russia vs Germany, Italy and Romania. As with Napoleon.

Russia walked out of these countries a generation and a half later. But the communist system did not admit capitalism. And it was capitalism and automation which made America great. In the time of Karl Marx, there was no automation. It was a swap from the passably pleasant peasant life to the satanic mills and the mills of Birmingham and Manchester which so inspired Marx. Not after WWII. Machines made machines. Machines made food. Mass production and fossil fuel, not breakfast.

China though has grand dreams of world conquest under President XI. And is approaching the US in GDP. And 50% of all CO2 by shutting everyone else off. Plus pretending they are a third world state, which is absolutely ridiculous.

They are also schooled in “The Art of War”. And have loaded the bases with Chinese migrants in every country as a fifth column. Even to the extent of openly having Chinese police stations in Ireland to control their people who might think they have escaped to the West.

Weell, that was after Hitler and Stalin divvied up eastern Europe and Hitler was mad enough to double-cross Stalin while still fighting in North Africa, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, while conducting an air war with Great Britain.

Russia also kept all the Eastern European and Balkan countries it “liberated”.

The view of the Russians is that Stalin bought time. And before and after WW1, 18 years before then slavic Poland was fully part of Russia. And the tiny Baltic states vacillated between the dominant powers around the Baltic.

I am not in the slightest an apologist for the mass murderer Stalin who survived the war or his communist murderers and NKVD commissars. It is possible that before, during and after the war, Stalin murdered more of his own people than Hitler did. He invented the concentration camps which Hitler copied and the Gulags.

But the tens of millions of Russian people who fought back valiantly and died in a war of extermination of the Russians as untermenschen have a very different story to Stalin himself. Or the Western view of it. They fought for Russia and their homes and families and God, not Stalin. Stalin was forced to free the Orthodox churches.

As I also pointed out, many Eastern European countries willingly and even enthusiastically joined the Axis powers and were partners with Hitler in attacking Russia. The idea that they were all innocent victims and the only aggressor was Germany is rewriting history. Even when Berlin fell, the biggest tank battle of the year was still raging in Budapest and Hungary was a staunch ally of Hitler as was Romania until they flipped in the late 1944 when King Michael arrested Antonescue. Many Ukranians, Poles, Austrians, Czechs and Russians also joined the Wehrmacht. Even Galician Catholics. Plus the Germans who had recently settled on the Volga and many Cossacks. Hitler conscripted whole armies from conquered territories and allies. Stalin’s vengeance on what he saw as traitors was terrible.

The Hungarians soon rewrote their history as undeserved and oppressed victims of the Russians. But Russia itself did not fall in 1992. It simply withdrew fully after the cold war with a buffer zone of ‘satellite’ allies established, including Byelorussia and Ukraine and Bulgaria. In the time immediately after the war, Churchill was still travelling around the US strongly advocating starting a war on Russia, not withdrawal. From the Russian point of view, they were still under threat from the Western allies.

Russia, the world’s biggest country, would be invaded from all sides if it was not a massive nuclear power. And the threat of invasion is very real.

And while Europe remains a cauldron of conflicting views on Russia, after two world wars the British, French, German, Spanish, Italian, American and Portuguese world empires are all gone but there is much to argue that China is the only one actively plotting world conquest.

I’m not so sure China is ‘actively plotting world conquest’ The main thing the CCP fear is the Chinese people. Their ‘plotting’ to undermine the western economy, is more about convincing the average Chinese they are better off with the CCP. Even the saber rattling over Twain, is mainly for domestic consumption as a distraction. The goal is more world economic domination (USA sytle) then actual miltary conquest.

I think you’re onto something here Simon. I can now see the genius of the Albanese govt. By bringing in 500,000 immigrants in the last year we cut our per capita emissions by 2%.

Given per capita emissions is apparently the better measuring stick, maybe China would be better served in not having child limits on their families and triple their population while only doubling their emissions. Then they’ll really be beating the world in the per capita reduction stakes and the planet would apparently be saved. As long as the per capita emissions were lowered. It doesn’t matter what the actual emissions are. All they needed was more population and they could have saved all that money invested in universities because it’s about per capita emissions. No way would it be about weakening the west.

China is indeed susceptible to natural climate change, as shown in the following graph.

Unlike Westerners, Chinese know their history well.

      https://c3headlines.typepad.com/.a/6a010536b58035970c01b8d0f76684970c-pi

The graph shows that whenever the world cools, bad things happen to China.

They know or suspect that the world is entering another cooling phase so want alternative farmland and even countries they can control or invade.

That’s one of the reasons they are colonising Africa and buying large amounts of farmland at cheap prices in stupid countries like Australia.

Of course THEY KNOW that humans can’t alter the climate but that the slave army of useful idiots of the Left think they can so go along with it when the true objective is to weaken and destroy the West, their only opposition to world domination, by destruction of the energy supply.

Even if anthropogenic global warming were a real thing, there has NEVER been a time in human history when natural warming has been a bad thing for civilisation. I always ask climate catastrophists for an example and they can never provide one.

In fact, civilisation has always thrived during global warming such as the Minoan Warm Period, the Egyptian Warm Period, the Roman Warm Period, the Medieval Climate Optimum (as it used to be called) and the Modern Warm Period.

In contrast during periods of natural cooling there is famine, war and disease.

In fact, Chinese civilisation is particularly sensitive to natural cooling. While they are profiting handsomely from supposed global warming through seeing increased manufacturing costs for the West (except USA under TRUMP) and profiting from solar panel sales to naive Westerners, they know we are heading toward global cooling and they know that has severe consequences for them. Hence the main reason they are buying agricultural land all over the world.

India famine 1876 to 1879 – Digby estimated 10.3 million fatalities
    Maharatna estimated 8.2 million fatalities
    Seavoy. estimated 6.1 million fatalities

1896 to 1902. The lancet. Estimated 19 million fatalities

India total 12.2 to 29.3 estimated fatalities

China famine 1876 to 1879. Broomhall. Estimated 20 million fatalities
Bohr. Estimated 9.5 to 13 million. fatalities
    Cohen. Estimated 10 million. fatalities

Total estimated 19.5 to 30 million

Brazil famine 1876 to 1879. Cunniff 0.5 to 1 million fatalities

Total 31.7 to 61.3 million fatalities.

Now tell me what modern famine lasted this long, effected this much of the planet and caused this many fatalities.

Oh, and of course, man made climate change caused all this.

Here’s a list of some of the terrible famines from weather events, plagues and wars etc over the last 4,000 years.
The greatest death toll was from a Chinese famine from 1959 to 1961 and a death toll between 24 to 50 million people.
We have 6 + billion more people since 1920 and the much smaller percentage of farmers today grow enough food to feed over 10 billion.
Of course deaths from extreme weather events could be 400,000+ a 100 years ago, but since 1960 that number has consistently dropped to very low numbers in 2024. In fact a reduction of 98% today. Gosh I wonder why we are so safe today? See OWI Data.

    Rockefeller?

    Like David Rockefeller?

“Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” ( from page 405 of his memoirs)

    See also:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the light of publicity during those years.

But now the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supra-national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.”

The old eliminate people and break things mode became too destructive.
Win the war, but the booty is destroyed and the winner inherits the rebuilding expenses.
