“Use of fake cases by U.K. lawyer qualifies as professional misconduct”

    https://www.law360.ca/ca/pulse/articles/2340768/use-of-fake-cases-by-u-k-lawyer-qualifies-as-professional-misconduct – paywalled …

Similarly – “AI’s production of non-existent cases in court: simply a ‘cosmetic error’ or caution warning to PI insurers?”

    https://kennedyslaw.com/en/thought-leadership/article/2025/ai-s-production-of-non-existent-cases-in-court-simply-a-cosmetic-error-or-caution-warning-to-pi-insurers/

So – for a lawyer, it’s professional misconduct.

For a meteorologist – well, I think if it’s sauce for the goose, it’s sauce for the gander. ‘Professional misconduct’.

Fr4ud – well, I gather [I’m not a lawyer] that Fr4aud needs more then ‘just’ misconduct. But if there was a professional body worth its salt for meteorologists, half the Met.Office may well be watching their backs.

      From the article:

“Everything you need to know about the integrity of Michael Mann’s purported science research is illustrated by the Washington, D.C., court finding Mann engaged in ‘stunning’ misrepresentations to the court regarding his defamation case,” said James Taylor, the president of the Heartland Institute, a conservative think tank.

“If you would like to know just how credible the climate alarmism movement is, just assess the ethics and honesty of its foremost talking head, Michael Mann,” he continued.

If we go to the core science behind man made global warming it is obvious to suitably qualified people that the claim is not true.
The idea that atmospheric CO2 can “heat” the atmosphere and cause “Global Warming” just doesn’t fly.
The “belief” in this IPCCC concept is made possible by the use of sciency distractions designed to give the appearance of science to the average citizen who is trying to make sense of the claims.

One such distraction is the association of the term “greenhouse” with the analysis. The Earth’s atmosphere is not a greenhouse.

Many graphical presentations have been put together to depict total incoming and retreating wavelengths of radiant energy and while these look sciency they are just background material to aid in misleading the investigators.

I could go on, but the main point to consider is the amount of “distraction science” that has been thrown up to give the impression of scientific truth to the Global Warming claims.

How China co-opted the green movement

Development for Beijing, degrowth for us

    May 21, 2025

Rising empires require collaborators to expand their influence and win over adversaries. In this respect, China and other anti-Western regimes increasingly count on green activists, investors, and media to advance their interests. Overall, the greens see China as “pivotal” in the global green-energy transition, as states Sustainability Magazine.

Indeed, over the past decade, the green movement has successfully trolled for big money from groups with strong links to the Chinese Communist Party, as well as some dollops from Vladimir Putin’s Russia, which has cynically backed efforts to curb the West’s production of natural gas, the easier to deepen its own energy dominance; and Qatar, known for financing Hamas and other Islamist groups.

Nowhere is the penetration more complete than in the universities, where Chinese and Qatari money are behind the largest proportion of the $29 billion of foreign money sunk into American universities between 2021 and 2024. This, and similar funds flooding Canadian, Australian, and British Universities, buy good will and political influence. Chinese students at institutions like Stanford are also closely monitored by the Beijing regime’s agents in order to stamp out or at least identify dissidents — and when possible, to purloin research for the motherland.

Apart from Queensland and the Northern Territory, Labor is in power in all states and federally with no effective opposition. The fake conservative Liberal “opposition” are wiped put just about everywhere.

Australia is now essentially a one party state and Labor can and are operating without restraint.

If there was an effective opposition party in Australia, something would be done about this:

Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong revealed to have dined with figures linked to Chinese Communist Party

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong have both recently dined with donors linked to Chinese Communist Party departments according to a new report.

    May 2, 2025

Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong have dined out with figures holding links to the Chinese Communist Party in the lead up to the 2025 federal election, The Australian has reported.

The masthead revealed on Thursday that Prime Minister Albanese celebrated his 62nd birthday in March at a lunch with members of the Chinese Building Association of NSW, which has ties to Chinese state-run construction firms.

Foreign Minister Wong is also revealed to have dined with Labor Party donor Peter Zhiwu Zheng at a restaurant in Brisbane on April 7.

The donor is president of a Chinese cultural association that is reportedly linked to the CCP’s United Front Work Department.

It follows reports earlier this week that ten individuals associated with a group linked to Beijing’s influence operations agency were being recruited to staff Housing Minister Clare O’Neil’s election day polling booths.

One of my favourite Aussie poems is hanrahan says, of which this is an extract on flooding

“If rain don’t come this month,” said Dan, and cleared his throat to speak –

“We’ll all be rooned,” said Hanrahan, “if rain don’t come this week.”

      A heavy silence seemed to steal on all at this remark;

And each man squatted on his heel, & chewed a piece of bark.

      “We want an inch of rain, we do,” O’Neil observed at last;

But Croke “maintained” we wanted two, to put the danger past.

“If we don’t get three inches, man, or four to break this drought,

We’ll all be rooned,” said Hanrahan, “before the year is out.”

In God’s good time down came the rain; and all the afternoon,

On iron roof & windowpane, it drummed a homely tune.

And through the night it pattered still, & lightsome, gladsome elves,

On dripping spout & windowsill, kept talking to themselves.

It pelted, pelted all day long, a-singing at its work,

Till every heart took up the song, way out to Back-o’-Bourke.

      And every creek a banker ran, and dams filled overtop;

“We’ll all be rooned,” said Hanrahan, “If this rain doesn’t stop.”

In case you didn’t know Tim Wilson (Lib) eventually won the seat of Goldstein (VIC) with a margin of only 444 votes against Zoe Daniel of the Simon Holmes à Court funded Teal Party non-party via Climate 200. There was a swing towards Wilson of 3.9% based on first preferences. It took a while to decide because it was so close plus there were postal votes to count.

Simon Holmes à Court lit a fire for independents who say he holds no sway

    Tue 29 Apr 2025

As a child, Simon Holmes à Court loved to burn things.

He and his little brother were “big pyromaniacs” who would start grassfires with magnifying glasses, and fashion flamethrowers from a hose and barbecue gas cylinders, he told his mother’s biographer.

    “We lit everything.”

Decades later, the 52-year-old has ignited a conflagration scorching Australia’s political duopoly.

His brainchild, Climate 200, a multi-million-dollar fundraising outfit that began with all the hallmarks of a trolling exercise of the Liberal Party, helped 10 independents win seats in the last federal parliament.

But the scenario begs questions about what kind of power Holmes à Court — who declined an interview with the ABC — could wield as the architect of the most disruptive force in Australian politics.

Climate 200 styles itself as a financial backer and service provider to independents who already have their own campaign teams, fundraising and a critical mass of community support.

Campaigns can then apply through an online portal for Climate 200 funding for staff and resources like electioneering materials and office rents.

The group channels the bulk of resources towards the most bankable prospects, seats where an incumbent major party MP is in what Holmes à Court has called “the danger zone” — a primary vote below 43 per cent.

My AI experiment with Goolag Gemini.

I’m interested in how it “thinks” and to reveal intrinsic biases.

    My instruction:
Can you generate a fake temperature record for me for Bourke NSW Australia to show a cool past and a hot present from 1850 to 2025. It’s for a fictional work.

    ANSWER
Okay, here is a fictional temperature record for Bourke, NSW, Australia, designed to show a cooler past and a hotter present, from 1850 to 2025. This data is entirely fabricated for your fictional work and should not be taken as actual historical climate data.
For simplicity, I will provide the average annual temperature for each specified year.
    | Year | Average Annual Temperature (°C) | Notes |
    |—|—|—|
    | 1850 | 19.5 | Relatively cooler year |
    | 1875 | 20.1 | Gradual mild increase |
    | 1900 | 20.8 | Continuing mild warming |
    | 1925 | 21.5 | Slight increase |
    | 1950 | 22.2 | Moderate warming |
    | 1975 | 23.1 | Noticeable increase |
    | 2000 | 24.5 | Further significant warming |
    | 2010 | 25.3 | Marked increase, heatwaves more frequent |
    | 2020 | 26.8 | High average, extreme heat events common |
    | 2025 | 27.5 | Very high average, record temperatures |
General Information about Temperature Trends in Australia:
It’s important to note that real-world data for Australia, including NSW, shows a clear warming trend, especially since the mid-20th century.
    * Observed Warming: Australia has warmed by an average of around 1.44 ± 0.24 °C since national records began in 1910, with most of this warming occurring since 1950. Each decade since then has been warmer than the last.
    * Increased Extremes: There has been an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events. Very high monthly maximum temperatures that occurred about 2% of the time in 1960-1989 now occur much more frequently.
    * Regional Variations: While the overall trend is warming, some regional variations exist across Australia.
    * Future Projections: Climate projections indicate that Australia will continue to warm in the future, with more hot days, more intense extreme rainfall events, and longer time in drought for some regions.
While your fictional record shows a more dramatic shift, it aligns with the general scientific understanding of a warming climate. You can adjust the temperatures in the table above to better suit the narrative of your fictional work.
Let me know if you need any adjustments to this fictional data!

      QUESTION
How many grams of CO2 did my last inquiry generate?

      ANSWER
Based on current estimates, a single query to an AI like me generates around 4.32 grams of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent).
So, your last inquiry likely generated approximately 4.32 grams of CO2e.

      MY COMMENT
4.32g of CO2 is about 2.2 litres of gas at STP. It’s wonderful it generates so much CO2.

Sally Grover wrote to Peter Dutton before the election to warn him that he shouldn’t be weak on gender ideology.

    https://youtu.be/1cMfh7lwsa0

Giggle Chief Executive Sall Grover has spoken on how outgoing Opposition leader Peter Dutton’s weak rhetoric on gender ideology weighed on the outcome of the federal election.

“We know that Labor is not going to fix this problem,” Ms Grover told Sky News Digital Presenter Gabriella Power.

“It really is up to a party, like the Liberal Party … to do something about it.

“Our two biggest allies in the world are the US and the UK, and they are fixing this problem.”
