Let the Swamp Drain…
For all its flaws, the US is still the largest military force on the planet and the world’s largest economy. If Trump chooses to use that power, and he appears to want to, the draining will be global. The only question is “how much”?

Missed another bullet
Let’s not forget how close it was. As truly awful as the Kamala word-salad was, she still allegedly got 71 million votes compared to Trump’s 75 million. And if a mere 30,000 voters in Wisconsin, 80,000 in Michigan, and 120,000 in Pennsylvania had voted differently or been ballot harvested more efficiently, or were electronically hacked more competently, Kamala would have won. (270 Electoral college votes to 268).
The fate of the nation of 147 million voters (and the West) depended on just 230,000 choices or 0.16%.
If the Blob had picked even a slightly less incompetent candidate, one without full blown dementia, or one able to string a whole coherent sentence together, then the advantages of state loving media, state directed tech censorship, mass immigration, electronic machines in 28 (or so) states and no voter ID would presumably have won the day.
Or if Elon Musk had not jumped all in, and spent $44 billion dollars for X…
Hopefully major election reform starts today.
Who, exactly, was in charge of 3,748 Nuclear Warheads?
When Mike Johnson got to meet President Biden he found out that Biden had no idea he had signed an EO to pause LNG exports to Europe. And Joe Biden was stunned…
Wall Street Apes (@WallStreetApes) says: Does everyone realize what was just said here? Speaker Mike Johnson not only confirms that Joe Biden isn’t in control and signing executive orders he doesn’t understand but that to meet with Biden, The CIA Director had to be present. He just confirmed The CIA is running our country, not the president. This just confirmed another “conspiracy theory.

UPDATE: Brett Moulton points out Mike Johnson [Speaker of the House] had every legal ability to hold Biden accountable and did nothing. He could have brought forth impeachment hearings and even removed Biden from office.
And the announcements start:
- BREAKING: President-elect Donald Trump has announced that all military members who were discharged for refusing the COVID mandate will be reinstated and receive full back pay, along with a formal apology from the United States Government.
- Trump just said he WILL declassify all files related to the JFK assassination.
- “As of today, TikTok is back…”

The Swamp hobbled him once.
They won’t stop trying.

The Swamp blackmailed every politician, journalist and obvious a few others in government on Epstein Island. And, those controlled by the swamp are still protecting the ID of all those on Epstein island and still open to blackmail by the swamp.
The only way to eliminate the power of the swamp, is to come clean about who was on Epstein island and remove the power of blackmail over them.
390
The Democrats are so smart.
Had they not cheated on an industrial scale in the 2020 election, Trump would have just had his
last day in office this morning.
Schadenfreude.

I don’t know what to make of that but it deserves a green, 🙂

Our Australian Swamp when Tony Abbott replaced Malcolm Turnbull as leader of the Liberal Party in 2009? adopted the policy of forget policy altogether, just bag the man and make him unelectable/
They then applied that policy successfully to getting rid of Tony Abbott twice, Campbell Newman and Scott Morrison.
The electorate fell for it every time.
They have now doubled down on that policy in their hunt for Peter Dutton. Just about every sentence they utter contains vilification of Peter Dutton.
503
They have now doubled down on that policy in their hunt for Peter Dutton. Just about every sentence they utter contains vilification of Peter Dutton.”
That’s fair enough as just about every sentence Peter Dutton utters vilifies Albanese and/or Labor

It will take Trump some time to know how much damage there is to our (the US) military. The damage is extensive in both personnel quality, especially at the top, and weapon program development being shown in the Ukraine to be both extremely expensive, and not practical, and vulnerable to modern warfare, not to mention we have no defense for the hypersonic missels that we have failed to produce.(Very very expensive programs that simply are not nearly as on the ground effective as advertised) In addition our supply lines and development potential will take time to fix. Are there unknown programs that the US has developed that may be game changers? No idea.
That video on Bidens decline is disturbingly illustrative of what was known to so many, and covered up.
332
I don’t think Biden declined. My view is that he was that way all along. A puppet on a string. That was why he was “appointed” president, and his election was an engineered sham. He was always expendable, but suddenly and too late, it became obvious he going to lose re-election, with the lawfare vs Trump failing. Instead of stepping aside he soldered on in his delusion, forcing his handlers to set him up in the debate, and trying to engineer another sham appointment of another puppet…. After attempting to kill Trump failed.
420
Unless or until Trump does something to tackle the blackmail honeypot of Epstein island, those who ran Epstein Island will still be running the swamp. And, if Trump doesn’t tackle those running Epstein Island, it will be clear the swamp is running Trump.
250
I cannot see that the popular vote matters as much as each state. A lot of the population is in the mega cities and they all vote Democrat. But that’s not how a Federation works. Donald Trump won in 2016 while losing the popular vote.
And 200,000 volunteers of lawyers and scrutineers did their best to keep it honest, which it never is. I was intrigued that only 25% of Republicans/Conservatives approved of cheating but 75% of Democrats thought it was acceptable, as long as they won.
But he won. And a lot of the ID regulations at the base of the cheating in California will be cleaned up. And illegal migrant voting. And illegal ballot harvesting. Vance may will be much bigger margins.
It’s a new dawning. And four years from now, Vance will romp home. The youngest president since JFK.
360
The federal government can’t do much about most of that, as the Constitution makes it crystal clear that the individual states control the voting process. Red states have already cleaned most of that up (and been accused of ‘voter suppression’ for doing it). The real trick is going to be moving the needle enough in blue states to get them to do the same. That is the real strength of Trump’s 2024 coalition, how it made double-digit inroads in even the bluest of states. That rightward shift probably won’t be enough to convince uniparty states like California to change, but it should put some steel in the spine of purple state politicians and might even sway a few leaders in light-blue states who can read the writing on the wall. As for the bright blue states in the Northeast and the west coast, their reckoning will be when the 2030 census comes out and congressional seats get reassigned from their shrinking states to the growing red Sun Belt states.
190
The power of a Republican-controlled federal purse can make for a lot of election-clean-up pressure on the various blue states.
20
Which is gross.
Not the Republican controlled part, but the federal government using the power of the purse to coerce states into falling in line over what is clearly a state power as enumerated in the Constitution.
Federal overreach into state governments is wrong, even when I agree with the feds on the issue in question. If the states are violating a federal law (like they do with sanctuary policy), then by all means the feds should intervene. But if the state is completely within it’s rights to implement idiotic policies, then the feds should butt out and let citizens vote with their feet (as internal migration numbers prove they have been).
10
The Federal government can enforce voter ID and other regulations for Federal elections though. On another point, no-one believes Kamala got 71 million legal votes. The cheating happened down ballot as they tried to steal the senate or house. It was simply too big to rig.

PS A lot of Americans have made a business of creating content for TikTok, so keeping it going is yet another smart move by Trump.
https://en.as.com/latest_news/goodbye-to-tiktok-this-is-how-much-money-influencers-on-the-app-make-a-year-n/
20
I think America (and most of the world) would be better off without TikTok (though like MySpace or Friendster or Vines, it will just be replaced by some other equally moronic social media site that rots people’s brains).
That said, I can’t support a ban based on nebulous, national security hand-wringing over what MIGHT happen. If they had some proof of actual Chinese perfidy already happening, then sure, they might have a case. But they don’t. I don’t see how America banning TikTok is any different than China banning Facebook or X. The purpose is the same … to empower the national security blob and dis-empower citizens. And unlike China, America can’t stop it’s citizens from using a VPN to spoof their location to some other country where TikTok still works … yet. I’m sure the blob is already planning for that as their next turn of the screw.
60
It is the matter of the principle of free speech, not that tiktok is a good or bad thing. To have free speech you have to tolerate speech you disagree with, or may not be in your best interest.

American English throws out some interesting words that dont see much common use elswhere (or at least here in Oz, perhaps I am being to general)
Perfidy in this post is one. Turpitude is a personal favourite used in the US entry card that you fill out on the way in. I wondered what moral turpitude was, but it sounded bad, so I didnt tick that box. God knows what all the English as a second language people made of it. Americans also like to use asinine, which I think, in a land ruled by the likes of Albanese and Bowen, we should adopt and promote in Oz.
As a multilingual work colleague once said to me “I like English , there is a word for everything”

The Blob has great power, but appears to lack basic wisdom and adult supervision.
Had Trump’s opposition not lost composure, and at least faked passing adherence to their own loudly professed principles, we wouldn’t be here.
The very serious down side of this whole thing, is the stunning disassembly of the managerial intelligentsia … the underlying rot exposed and hastened by the fiasco of ‘Pandemic’.
Washing away The Blob is going to leave a lot of stains and bruises.

I’ll bet the war against Europe continues..
“The subprime mortgage crisis hit the US economy, enhancing the EU’s economic pre-eminence. On July 18, 2008, the euro reached $1.60.
The US bankers will never forget or forgive that day. The feeling of superiority prompted European leaders to discuss replacing the dollar with Special Drawing Rights (SDR), composed of 44% dollar, 34% euro, and other currencies. Dominique Strauss-Kahn, IMF director and potential French presidential candidate, was a key proponent. In May 2011, he was arrested in New York over sexual assault allegations. He resigned from the IMF, and criminal charges were dropped. I am sure, no connection. But the idea of replacing the dollar with SDR died, along with Strauss-Kahn’s presidential aspirations.
The dollar survived, but Americans took note: the EU wasn’t a friend. European elites seemed to be waiting for the US to stumble, craving control over international finances. Since then, US policy appears aimed at containing or even destroying the EU to prevent it from reaching supremacy.”

As rats desert a sinking ship (smart rats, actually), the adults began leaving the White House several months ago.
So, for months, we have had an administration composed of interns – interns hired mostly on the basis of ideology.
What surprises me is that they didn’t try an Executive Order granting a blanket amnesty to everyone in our country illegally. It would have been simple to do – and legally hard to overturn.
60
If Biden did not know what he was doing then, he does not know what he is doing now!
Does that mean that all the preemptive pardons are invalid? Are they Invalid anyway since no one has been charged yet?
190
very good point Peter C,
here in Aus if you sign a legal document while not of sound mind, the document is invalid. He was noted as not fit to stand trial over his secret document stash in his garage.
131
No. That’s why we have the 25th Amendment, detailing what needs to be done before you can declare him incompetent. If you haven’t followed through on that process, then he is legally competent to sign.
Otherwise, we’d have lawsuits over competency every time a prez signed something.
20

Going on the thumbs down, a lot here do not recognise sarcasm.
Why would you pardon innocent people. You either believe them to be guilty or you do not trust the legal system you have helped to weaponise for political purposes..
213
As Tony Jones from Ch9 found out, sarcasm doesn’t work very well in media situations. Not on blogs and definitely not on social media. Certainly not without some form of explanation.

No David. It doesn’t even give him immunity in individual States. It only applies to Federal cases.

We hear a lot about the swamp and it’s sludge like effect on government. Some of how the swamp works is written up clearly in the latest report of the Special Inspector General for Afghan Reconstruction. The Inspector General’s name is John Sopko. He had been investigation the Reconstruction for twelve years. Here’s an excerpt from his latest report.
“But a perverse incentive drove our system.
To win promotions and bigger salaries, military and civilian leaders felt they had to sell their tours of duty, deployments, programs and projects as successes — even when they were not. Leaders tended to report and highlight favorable information while obscuring that which pointed to failure. After all, failures do not lead to an ambassadorship or an elevation to general.
They also aren’t good business for the contractors on which the U.S. mission relied to manage and support programs and projects. For contractors, claiming success, whether real or imaginary, was vital to obtaining future business. So spending became the measure of success. (The same, of course, is true in Washington, where unspent allocations are tantamount to failure, leading to budget cuts.)
Accountability for how money was spent was poor. One general told us that he faced a challenge: How to spend the remaining $1 billion from his annual budget in just over a month? Returning the money was not an option. Another official we spoke to said he refused to cancel a multimillion-dollar building project that field commanders did not want, because the funding had to be spent. The building was never used.
As one former U.S. military adviser told my office, the entire system became a self-licking ice cream cone: More money was always being spent to justify previous spending. Old staff departed, new staff arrived with “better” ideas, and new iterations of the same old solutions were repeated, for years.”

Here’s Trump’s reaction to the pardons:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/01/president-trump-issues-fiery-response-joe-bidens-corrupt/
For those here who don’t know, a presidential pardon doesn’t mean they get off Scott-free. A pardon robs those of their constitutional rights under the 5th amendment of self-incrimination, meaning that, if charging them for their actions in the future they are prohibited from invoking that privilege and MUST testify and be held accountable for their actions.
My fervent prayer is that will be used against Fauci (among many others) to be tried and imprisoned for crimes against humanity.
190
Here’s a different take on the Fauci pardon…and it’s good news!
From PJ Media, a quote from the U.S. Supreme Court:
Indeed, the Supreme Court has said that the accepting of a pardon is an admission of guilt.
The Supreme Court has several times upheld defendants’ decisions to refuse pardons. When bank robber George Wilson declined to plead a pardon from President Andrew Jackson, the Supreme Court held in 1833 that the pardon was not effective (United States v. Wilson). When New York Tribune editor George Burdick refused to accept a pardon from President Woodrow Wilson and instead insisted upon his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent in an investigation into leaks to the press from the Treasury Department, the Supreme Court likewise affirmed his ability to do so (Burdick v. United States).
Acceptance of a pardon has often been seen as an admission of guilt. The Court in Burdick acknowledged as much, noting the “confession of guilt implied in the acceptance of a pardon.” This admission of guilt may have several dimensions. The most straightforward imputes responsibility for the underlying crime to the person pardoned.
https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/01/20/fauci-reacts-to-his-pardon-n4936163
140
Obviously Biden didn’t pardon himself or that would have been the headline.
So he can be charged, or like Trump, impeached after leaving office. All of these pardoned individuals can’t plead the fifth so can be forced to testify. It doesn’t matter that criminal charges would be dismissed on the basis of diminished responsibility, Biden would be the Trojan Horse.
In US law can the insanity plea be made and upheld before any evidence is taken? I don’t know. But if an insanity plea is made and accepted does that mean everything Biden signed is null and void, including pardons?
There is a lot of water to flow under the bridge yet.

https://www.breitbart.com/environment/2025/01/20/trump-saves-the-whales-plans-end-to-disastrous-northeast-offshore-wind-farms/
“Multiple reports over the weekend indicated that President-elect Donald Trump is promising near-immediate action to shut down offshore wind farm projects throughout the Northeast United States, which were widely unpopular with locals who feared the industrialization of their natural shorelines and environmental destruction.
The administration of outgoing President Joe Biden had prioritized funding and support for offshore wind projects during its four years in power, including major wind farm subsidies in the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” and relying on leftist governors in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts to back the projects. The projects attracted loud opposition from local tourism industries and environmentalists, who noted a significant increase in the number of washed-up whale carcasses along the shoreline as sonar work began off the Northeast coast.”
