Compelling evidence that wind kills whales

Offshore wind whale deaths indicated by statistical analysis
    By David Wojick
    https://www.cfact.org/2024/07/22/offshore-wind-serial-whale-deaths-indicated-by-statistical-analysis/

    The beginning:
“Systematic statistical analysis indicates that offshore wind development has likely been killing lots of whales since it began around 2016. This long-standing conjecture that wind kills whales has now been clearly confirmed. Call it forensic statistical epidemiology. The epidemic is the huge number of Northwest Atlantic whale deaths that were first officially observed by NOAA in 2016-17, and that continued to this day. It is forensic because killing whales can be highly illegal.

This math feat was performed by Apostolos Gerasoulis, a Rutgers professor emeritus of computer science. This is a computer math problem, not a biological one, so he is exceptionally qualified. See https://www.cs.rutgers.edu/people/professors/details/gerasoulis-apostolos

Professor Gerasoulis has confirmed with profound statistical evidence the widespread conjecture that offshore wind sonar surveys have been killing whales. There is now no reasonable doubt that the extensive sonar harassment authorized by NOAA since 2016 has caused the massive increase in whale deaths that NOAA first flagged in 2016-17.

Here is a lengthy article that provides some of that compelling evidence: https://climatechangedispatch.com/professor-makes-stunning-discovery-absolutely-100-percent-offshore-wind-kills-whales/

Given that I and others have been yelling at NOAA about this for two years, it is not a stunning discovery to us, just tragic proof that we were right.”

Lots more in the article. Please share it.

Also where is the offical autopsy report?

The shooter’s head was intact. If hit by a sniper rifle bullet ftom 150 yards away the head would have exploded.

So where was the entry wound and where was the exit wound. Only one bullet or more and what was the likley calibre.

Were bullet fragement found in the head?

      Conspiracy Anyone?

AbleChild posted an exclusive article on July 18th revealing that the Allegany County, PA coroner’s office had conducted the autopsy on Thomas Matthew Crooks and according to Jessica in the coroner’s office the manner of death was homicide, and the cause of death was a gunshot wound. However, the coroner’s office refused to provide any details about the date and time the body had arrived at the office and what tests had been conducted during the autopsy, such as a toxicology report which would include test for psychiatric drugs if the shooter had a mental health diagnosis.

Contrary to several news articles, including FOX News and TMZ, the Coroner’s office did not publicly provide information about where the shooter, Thomas Mathew Crooks, was shot…that is where on his body. According to Fox, TMZ and other news organizations, “Crooks died from a gunshot wound to the head.” The coroner’s office only provided the following information: the cause of death is gunshot and manner of death is homicide. The coroner’s office did not make public where on the shooter’s body the gunshot occurred.

I was looking at the rifles of the two snipers on the roof behand Trump, they looked to be big calibre or had ‘bull barrels’, should have taken his head off at that range.

They were .50 cal BMG (Browning Machine Gun) sniper rifles. The military in the US uses them for long range sniping.

They are also legal for individuals to possess in the US, (but quite expensive – 30 years ago the cheapest was $3,500 USD)

Another thing I nave not heard noted upon. Analysis of the gunshot sounds. Each caliber has a different sound. The pop, pop, pop was from a .223 (5.56 mm), teh single loud, deep shot was probably from the .50 cal. was there another caliber involved?

Secret Service Director’s Testimony Sparks Bipartisan Calls for Her Resignation

WASHINGTON—Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle offered lawmakers few answers Monday about how a 20-year-old gunman was able to open fire on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally, fueling bipartisan anger and widespread calls for her resignation in the wake of what she acknowledged was a colossal security lapse.

As the hearing progressed, a growing chorus of lawmakers said they didn’t have confidence in Cheatle’s leadership or ability to keep protectees safe. Republican leaders last week had already called for Cheatle to step down. On Monday, Democrats joined them.

Raskin, the top Democrat on the panel, called the session “an unusually depressing hearing” and said he would join in calling for Cheatle’s ouster.

“This relationship is irretrievable at this point,” Raskin said. “And I think that the director has lost the confidence of Congress at a very urgent and tender moment in the history of the country, and we need to very quickly move beyond this.”

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D., Fla.) likened Cheatle’s performance to that of the leaders of elite universities who in a December House hearing equivocated on whether calling for the genocide of J@wish people violated the campus code of conduct, and were eventually pressed to resign.

“Did you see that hearing?” Moskowitz said. “Well, let me tell you, it didn’t go well.

And the short end of that story was, those university professors all resigned. They’re gone. That’s how this is going for you.”

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) signed a letter, which the committee sent to Cheatle and released on social media. It’s an impressive show of bipartisanship.

        The letter reads:

Director Cheatle: On July 13, 2024, the United States Secret Service under your leadership failed to protect former President Donald Trump from an assassination attempt that took the life of Corey Comperatore and seriously injured at least two other people.

Today, you failed to provide answers to basic questions regarding that stunning operational failure and to reassure the American people that the Secret Service has learned its lessons and begun to correct its systemic blunders and failures. In the middle of a presidential election, the Committee and the American people demand serious institutional accountability and transparency that you are not providing. We call on you to resign as Director as a first step to allowing new leadership to swiftly address this crisis and rebuild the trust of a truly concerned Congress and the American people.

        Sincerely,

        James Comer Chairman

        Committee on Oversight & Accountability

        & Jamie Raskin

        Ranking Member

        Committee on Oversight & Accountability

This bipartisan call for Cheatle to resign her post is especially remarkable after what we saw from some Democrats during the hearing.

        Now this:

By blowing off the security briefing, (Senator)Johnson made it clear that USSS essentially put local Butler County law enforcement officers in charge of everything on that day. It was such a mess that he has been told law enforcement wasn’t even on the same channel as USSS agents, leaving them unable to communicate effectively as Crooks operated

Butler County Police then advised USSS that they effectively could not provide any more than traffic control.

There appears to be a sinister purpose in the Secret Service negligence.

I didn’t believe until right now that a specific stand down order was given by the Secret Service to leave the assassin alone. But now that we know Cheatle refused to record or archive the comms (or potentially even deleted them), I don’t think there’s any other conclusion to draw.

        Barack Obama Strikes Again

Heading into the weekend at his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., President Biden was reportedly stewing over Barack Obama’s role in the orchestrated campaign to force him off the Democratic ticket.

The New York Times cited the “unseen but clearly felt presence” of Mr. Obama, which lent a “Shakespearean quality” to the drama that culminated in Mr. Biden’s decision to take himself out of the 2024 presidential contest.

For Mr. Biden, it must have brought back unpleasant memories of 2015, when he was Mr. Obama’s vice president and considering a run for the top job. Instead of encouraging his loyal lieutenant, Mr. Obama and his White House backed Hillary Clinton. That makes Sunday the second time Mr. Obama has helped knock Mr. Biden off the Democratic presidential ticket.

It’s left a mark. Mr. Biden can argue, as he certainly does, that he is the only Democrat to have defeated Donald Trump. His unspoken accusation is this: If Mr. Obama hadn’t intervened against him, he would have won in 2016 as well and spared the Democratic Party its current trauma. It may not be true but it’s a plausible argument—and Mr. Biden believes it.

So far Mr. Obama hasn’t endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed Mr. Biden. But she has racked up many key endorsements. These include would-be rivals for the nomination such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, as well as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi—a leader of the coup that forced Mr. Biden out.

That leaves the Democratic Party with an apparent candidate who didn’t receive a single primary vote. The blame rests largely with Mr. Biden and his stubborn resistance to the reality of his diminishing physical and mental capacities. But he can’t be blamed for all of it, because he didn’t get here alone.

Certainly he has now left his party in the lurch. But had Democrats like Mr. Obama and Mrs. Pelosi, who were quietly ratcheting up the pressure on Mr. Biden to step aside, intervened a year ago—well before the primaries began—the party might now be putting forth a strong nominee who enjoyed the votes of party faithful and could count on the enthusiastic support of donors and party leaders.

Instead, they opted to gaslight the American people about Mr. Biden’s health and savaged the one Democrat who dared mention it—Rep. Dean Phillips, who challenged the president in the Democratic primaries.

As the Journal’s Barton Swaim reported from the campaign trail, Mr. Phillips summed up the party’s duplicity at a New Hampshire rally in January:

“We were having these conversations quietly. But when the cameras came on, it was ‘ridin’ with Biden.’

… the curtain dropped revealing the Emperor had no clothes.

The MSM said they could weave the most magnificent narratives imaginable.

Not only was their propaganda uncommonly fine, but the unfitness of emperors clothed in their fabrications had a wonderful way of becoming invisible to anyone who was unusually progressive or stupid.

The Emperor was so delighted in the fitness of the MSM spin he wore it to the great telecast.

But at least one independent little child called out that the emperor wasn’t all there.

The media shivered. All could see that the clothes had no Emperor.

But the pretension must go on! So the media train walked more proudly than ever, as they all held high the brain that wasn’t there at all.

I read a New York lawyer’s blog and he said that if she is picked he will vote for her, even if she can’t string three sentences together, was a poor Attorney-General in the past and a non-existent vice-president. The comments showed exactly the same attitude in the readers, if they voted democrat they would vote for Biden again if he was running, or whoever was the candidate no matter how bad.

While it doesn’t fill me with confidence about democracy, it does confirm my view of lawyers!

Weekend at Biden’s – Was this a Coup?

Did We Just Witness a Coup? Joe Biden Resigns from ’24 Race with Tweet on X, That Was Not Posted on Official Letterhead, and His Signature Is Being Questioned?

It struck me that a stack of documents could have been put before Biden with an aid saying “Mr President these are urgent documents that need you signature” and a doped up Biden may have just signed his “resignation” without knowning.

    Let’s recap this historic day:

    • Joe Biden suddenly *RESIGNS* via
    @X

    • White House staff find out ONE MINUTE later
    • Joe Biden “resignation” letter not on official letterhead
    • Biden “signature” suspect (underlined?)
    • Steve Richetti helped write letter
    • Jill Biden tweets *heart emoji* response
    • White House *WIPES* Biden’s schedule
    • WH Chief of Staff calls Cabinet, manages Comms
    • Frank Biden confirms health a factor
    • Family suggests Biden may have terminal illness
    • Joe Biden holds no LIVE Press Conference
    • Where is Joe?

Kamala Harris: She’ll Cackle While America Burns

          I & I Editorial Board July 21, 2024

As expected, Joe Biden has dropped his reelection campaign. In doing so, he endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, as his replacement as the Democratic Party’s nominee. It might seem impossible, but she would be an even worse president than he was.

Start with the fact that Harris is an unserious person and a classic midwit, defined by the Urban Dictionary as:

Someone who is around average intelligence but is so opinionated and full of themselves that they think they’re some kind of genius. Midwits have a shallow understanding of things and at first can seem a bit smart, until you dig deeper and realize they’re just posers.

But let us skip any further preambling and go right into the reasons why Harris, who would be a wreck in the White House.

First off, if she were elected president, there would be at least another four years of the Biden administration, which in reality would be Barack Obama’s fourth term. Little good has come from the combined 11 1/2 years of Obama and Biden. “Fundamentally transforming” this country has not improved it but instead drained it of its identity, independence, cohesiveness, and perpetual optimism.

Furthermore, Harris’ failings are monumental. Since being named “border czar” in March 2021 just two months into the Biden presidency, illegal border crossings have soared. During the four years of the Trump presidency, there were 2.4 million illegal entries. An estimated 7.4 million illegal immigrants, however, crossed into the U.S. during Biden’s first three years, a staggering number that doesn’t include the nearly 2 million “gotaways” who were seen jumping the border, but weren’t caught.

The border crisis was not due to incompetence, though it is hard to find a shred of competence in this administration. It is a disaster by design.

Think of Harris’ negligence on the border matter and then imagine this woman, who, as Center Square contributor William Haupt III says, “has failed at every job Biden has given her.”

Because she has the persona of a court jester, no foreign leader would ever take her seriously.

She constantly spews an incoherent “mixture of words or phrases that is confused and difficult to understand,” which the Federalist’s Mark Hemingway calls “authentic California self-actualized airhead gibberish,” and it is all too often followed by maniacal cackling.

Scandal behind the cackle! As Kamala’s former lover – who’s 31 YEARS her senior – demands Biden make her president NOW… all the sordid secrets America’s ‘Momala’ hopes you’ve forgotten

Vice President Kamala Harris’s ex-lover has a bright idea.

Why wait for 2024? Kamala should be president – right now!

Former San Francisco mayor and notorious playboy, Willie Brown, 90, who is 31 years Harris’s senior and dated her in the 1990s, summoned local reporters for an impromptu news conference on Sunday.

Speaking outside John’s Grill, where he holds court with the city’s political elite, just moments after President Joe Biden’s surprise announcement that he’d suspended his campaign, Brown told journalists that the president shouldn’t just cede the Democratic nomination to Kamala, but he should make her commander-in-chief immediately.

REVEALED: The cunning ploy devious Democrats used to sabotage Biden’s campaign and their bombshell threat if he didn’t drop out of race

Plan by party brokers to get rid of president has been in the works for weeks

An insider compared the entire operation to a ‘palace coup’

The Democrat Party plot to get Joe Biden to drop out has been long in the works, a Biden insider claims.

That plan came to fruition on Sunday, when the 81-year-old president dramatically announced the end of his campaign before endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, a source close to Biden’s family is saying that the party put together a ‘palace coup’ over the course of recent weeks, with the president fighting it until he was threatened with being forced out.

The insider says that the disastrous debate against Donald Trump on June 27 – the earliest presidential debate in history – was part of the strategy, despite being publicly requested by Biden on social media.

‘That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,’ the source told the New York Post.

Pershing Square CEO Bill Ackman pointed out, “One would think that a letter to the American people from the president announcing his decision to step aside would not be signed using a digital signature and would be accompanied by a photo op and a scheduled conference in the morning that followed. Instead we have a digitally signed letter released on the president’s @X account, an account we know that is run by a staffer, no photo, and no live scheduled address to the American people. Being President is much more complex than running for President. Running a campaign is reading from teleprompters, making empty promises, and smiling/posing before the camera, but being President is about making tough decisions. It requires not just a functioning mind but an able mind.

If he cannot recall the names of the members of his cabinet and if he cannot string a sentence coherently, he simply cannot process complex information and make decisions.

He must therefore be compelled to resign.

That’s if he’s still alive – remains a mystery at this point.

If there was more than one,how could they be so ineffective? The secret service scrum held Trump in view for a number of seconds as he gesticulated. No rounds landed on Trump or anyone in the scrum or others in the crowd at that stage.

… it looked liked the guy who died, was hit more than once

Two high precision shots only missed Trump because of the coincidence of a wind gust, and turn of the head and tilt from the hip by Trump.

A pause and a staccato of shots of similar precision on Trump’s new position but with audience members now obstructing the line of fire.

According to reports Crooks had just been disturbed by a policeman at the roof edge, but immediately took aim at Trump without a stable support for his rifle, with a very difficult line of sight and fired.

It’s hard to believe he could fire so accurately under those circumstances with so little direct preparation for the shots.

So was he really the shooter?

Is there any other firing position, with the same line of sight to the stage, where another shooter could have been positioned?

There is- on the roof of another of the AGR buildings about 90 metre behind Crooks.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is what you get when you have a genuine conservative who can’t be controlled by the Left of his own party or Elites from elsewhere and absolutely refuses to follow the Official Narrative.

We had a similar situation in Australia with Tony Abbott who was endlessly accused of being a misogynist*, mocked for his love of physical fitness (not a soy boy) and whose coup de grâce came after he dared propose an inquiry into data fraud** at the BoM (Australia’s official weather agency). It wasn’t so severe or as prolonged as with Trump because they got rid of him quickly.

    * That, despite him having three highly successful daughters, successful on merit, not due to DEI.

** That inquiry was stopped by former WEF employee and Environment Minister, Greg Hunt, he also banned IVM and HCQ during covid.

Video: Lord Monckton warned of the danger to Tony Abbott before they got rid of him.

      Trump miracle widens Christian divide
      By Susan D. Harris
      https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2024/07/trump_miracle_widens_christian_divide.html

Last year, a deacon in my (former) church gave a dramatic sermon informing the congregation that former president Trump had declared himself our “savior.” There was a slight gasp from the crowd. The deacon went on to teach that there was only one savior, Jesus Christ, and the group fervently agreed with hallelujahs and amens.

I met privately with the deacon the following Sunday, asking him why he had said something that wasn’t true. In fact, I showed him an article detailing Trump’s Christmas remarks at First Baptist of Dallas in 2021. There Trump had said, “Our country needs a savior right now. And our country has a savior. And it’s not me. It’s somebody much higher up than me. Much higher.”

The deacon refused to relent, insisting that he was right yet unwilling to quote a source. Never mind that if Trump had literally declared himself a “savior,” it would have caused a theological earthquake worldwide.

Keep in mind that to this day, that congregation still believes that Trump is a delusional nutjob who attempted to usurp the role of Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately there’s a whole swathe of the US that aren’t the brightest bulbs, and not too concerned with truth either – large contingent in the “Christian” church as evidenced above.

They may profess Christianity but if they diss truth and even promote murder via assassination (see yesterday’s Open Thread for example), then they are not Christians in my books.

I can see why Susan Harris left.

They have all conceded that Trump will win. Obama is staying silent, the puppet master according to his puppet Biden.

So the fight is on to save seats in Congress and the Senate.

Not endorsing Kamala would have been a disaster, swinging the entire black vote to Trump.

At least now the pressure is off. She can lose everything. No one cares. There is still the cheating machine they used last time to elect Biden. The midnight miracle as Trump predicted.

How to Inflate the Money Supply with Corporate Bailouts | Mises.org

“Many claim the problem with fractional reserve banking is that it loans money into existence.”

That’s a good description: loaning money into existence — the special, largely hidden power of commercial banks. Of course, there’s a flipside: as each loan is repaid the money disappears from the banking system.

What a shame they can’t keep the two flows EQUAL so there would be no inflation of the Money Supply! …. But then the Asset Hogs would be unhappy because without the creation of new money to facilitate expanding their empire of assets, how would they ‘lord it’ over the rest of us. Remember, when they own everything “you will be happy” (as their serf). Sadly for them, we’re not there yet because some people can still afford to buy their first house, even if it’ll take them decades longer than their parents to pay it off. So expect the Great Inflation to continue.

“Settle down, you serfs, don’t worry about this money creation lark!” says The Bank of England (I’m paraphrasing here), “The banks are CONSTRAINED by ‘market conditions’ or ‘capital requirements’. They won’t LOAN unless there are ‘credit worthy’ customers around.” . . . Well, if that’s true, why did the Subprime Mortgage Crisis blow up in the world’s face in 2008? Where was the lending constraint before that asset bubble burst?

Article also describes — without naming it — the Cantillon Effect: “Many super-wealthy today were simply lucky initial owners of popular assets that got bid up by this unnatural inflow of new money. Attracting the money flow towards assets you own has become a more important means of wealth generation than profitable operation. [….]
By continually handing free [or cheap] money to the rich, government facilitates a transfer of purchasing power from the population to the moneyed class [i.e. the “asset rich class”]. This skews wealth distribution….

Then Marxism gets a slap around the head: “Thus Marxists misdiagnosed the cause of economic inequality. It’s not the extraction of surplus value from workers, as suggested by the labor theory of value, that gives capitalists unfair wealth. Instead, it’s the continuous influx of free money through increases in the money supply.”

P.S. Aside from loaning money into existence, I’m pretty sure commercial banks are also ‘spending money into existence’ via
    • paying for their own expenses (salaries, fat bonuses to managers etc.), and
    • buying bonds from the Private Sector. These could be corporate bonds, or government bonds already possessed by a private owner.
What a sweet deal for them! The combined magic of Double-entry Bookkeeping, and controlling the communal database of credit balances! No wonder inflation is a persistent problem — I mean ALL inflation — because you have to include Asset Price Bubbles, not just the bogus CPI index which is manipulated and intended to fool the public.

Talking about the US, what I see suggests that the focus of the steal this time around will be individual senate and house seats.

Does anybody have an estimate of the margin of fraud? I have no doubt that the dems will run their cheating machines just to keep them in working order even if it is just to beta test new methods. But just how far behind does a dem have to be before they abandon steals as being too implausible?

And is there any news on the dems being set up for a stinger operation where they steal the unstealable? A bit like the bank robber who gets caught with indelible ink on their hands from the stolen cash.

Don’t forget we’re dealing here with a party that actually tells citizens not to believe what they saw with their own eyes. A party that says a woman can have a penis and renewables are the cheapest form of energy.

Once Biden’s replacement is chosen, there will be a blitz of misinformation, lies and false polling sufficient to pretend that their candidate is neck and neck with Trump. Then all they have to do is manufacture enough votes to ‘crawl over the line’.

Former NIWA scientist scathing about cuts to climate modelling team

    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/522846/former-niwa-scientist-scathing-about-cuts-to-climate-modelling-team

NIWA has cut climate science to the bone and set New Zealand up to be worse-prepared for future climate disasters.

That’s the message from one of the global climate modellers axed from the Crown-owned science company this year.

Olaf Morgenstern finished up after 15 years at NIWA last Friday – one of four experts culled from a 10-person climate modelling team.

His expertise has already been snapped up by Germany, and Morgenstern has left New Zealand with a warning: climate science in this country is under threat.

“We do this science for the public good, not necessarily just our own country’s good; climate science is very much an international endeavour.

“We would be truly in dire straits if everybody else followed New Zealand’s commercial ideology because we’d be sleepwalking into a climate disaster.”

Morgenstern holds a PhD in meteorology and is a renowned climate modeller, having previously worked in the UK and Germany.

At NIWA, he was among a handful of experts downscaling global climate models for use in New Zealand to better inform climate policy.

“They’re pretty much the only tool we have at our disposal to look into the future so they’re fundamentally important and extremely beneficial, though they certainly have flaws,” he said.

Good bye Olaf – we’re better off without you. And a big thank you Germany for taking him off our hands.

NIWA’s High Performance Computing Facility (HPCF)three interconnected Cray supercomputers—together capable of processing more than two thousand trillion calculations per second, two named Māui and Mahuika – was opened with much fanfare: “supercharging New Zealand science”.

But then….not much ensued. One ski/snowfield project that concluded the snow fields were going to be ok, basically. Turns out they are.

Another historical rainfall project determined the UKMO model Regional incarnation could not model historical rainfall.

    Then….silence.

Then, HPCP being put to good use by the medical research fraternity.

    Current use next.

HPCP current use, according to NIWA blurb:

Commissioned in 2018 and lead investigations into fields such as:

Modelling the impact of climate change:
      Forecasting weather related hazards
      Analysing genetic information
Understanding the systems driving our oceans
      Tracking New Zealand’s freshwater resources
      Investigating New Zealand’s seismic risk
Building science algorithms and artificial intelligence networks.

“Building science algorithms” sounds like an interesting field of research – but where have I heard that before?

      RNZ,

Morgenstern said cuts to this work might save money in the short term, but would ultimately hinder New Zealand’s international reputation and ability to predict and prepare for climate catastrophes.

      “Climate change will certainly exacerbate.

“We’ve seen with Cyclone Gabrielle and some other situations that the country’s poorly prepared, and part of the answer to meeting the requirement to adapt to climate change is to have a healthy ecosystem of climate experts who government and other players rely on for advice.

“How much is the sea level going to rise? How much is the frequency of tropical cyclones going to rise? We simply won’t have the specialists to advise anyone on these things.”

Labour’s climate change spokesperson Megan Woods said New Zealand could not afford to lose climate experts.

“We are letting some really good expertise leave New Zealand, not because they want to, but because that work is no longer valued by our government.”

‘Twilight zone’: One thing energy row misses
There’s a big question being posed in Australian politics right now, but it ignores the easiest and only viable solution to the energy conundrum.

Gas-fired power stations are also cheap to build, in fact, we could build all 26 gas peakers for the cost of one nuclear power plant.

Australia’s east coast has oodles of cheap gas to fuel them, and, existing coal-fired power stations can quickly be converted to gas-fired even more cheaply; without the need for new infrastructure beyond gas access.

There are still 15 of these coal plants in the National Electricity Market.

The US has converted more than 100 coal power stations to gas since 2009, this is how it has surpassed Australian decarbonisation despite even more fractious politics than our own.

The Twilight Zone of Australian politics is posing a key question which has stumped the country for a decade; do you support renewables or nuclear for the energy transition?

This false binary ignores the only viable and easiest solution to the energy conundrum; which is to use more gas for power.

Gas power produces half the emissions of coal, and whether you ultimately support renewables or nuclear in the long run; gas is essential while either rolls out over the next 25 years.

Gas-fired power is the perfect support for renewables because gas turbines can be switched on and off quickly, and can provide dispatchable power when the sun goes down and the wind doesn’t blow.

The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) knows this and recently declared that the renewables transition will require the equivalent of 25 “gas peaker” power stations:

Gas-fired power stations are also cheap to build, in fact, we could build all 26 gas peakers for the cost of one nuclear power plant.

Interest Payments on US National Debt Will Shatter $1,140,000,000,000 This Year – Eating 76% of All Income Taxes Collected

Antoni says the cost to service the federal debt has exploded 33% in a single year, and set to get worse.

The economist also reports that interest on the national debt was the single biggest expense for the government in June, far outrunning other critical public services, and the Treasury expects it will break the $1.14 trillion level this fiscal year.

We know it isn’t Russia, that’s a given, but could it be China? Somehow I doubt it but if they did the US is the country of choice for the Princelings to shift their money out of China where wealth is no protection from government avarice. Private investment companies such as Blackrock and private bankers such as the Rothschilds is my guess and what they have is exactly what they want so they sure as ‘ell aren’t going to upset the applecart. A war or two is no problem, more stress, more debt and the banks will print the money.

China and India could possibly be a problem if they continue to accumulate gold. They could then blow up everything. That won’t happen next year but The West must stop capping the gold price and allowing them to buy cheap gold.

That’s no problem. Once we only have digital currency, all it will take is a single, massive ‘cyber attack’ and POOF – the debt has gone.

    I hear the zealots crowing.

‘During autumn and the beginning of winter, the National Electricity Market (NEM) saw a wind drought in response to abnormally high pressure, forcing cold fronts and the associated wind south of Australia.

‘There has been a shift in this pattern in recent weeks, with plentiful cold fronts and low-pressure systems drifting across southern Australia. This has been influenced by a long wave trough impacting Australia in recent weeks.

‘Last week, the NEM saw its windiest week in more than a year, contributing 897 GWh/week to the grid.’ (weatherzone)

While you are here, do you have any data on how fast wind energy drops away on the grid? Over a few hours? One hour? Less than one hour?

      10

      • #

        Graeme#4,

it drops off suddenly in high wind situations, and slowly over long term, many hours with the approach of those huge High Pressure weather systems, and when they sit directly over the top of the bulk of the wind plants, two thirds of all Australian Nameplate in that area, the South East of South Aus and Central Western Victoria.

I did a series on it back in 2020 at the following link.

Wind Power Generation Intermittency – It’s Worse Than You Think It Is – Introduction

The links to the two situations are at the bottom of this Introductory Post.

What has happened in more recent times is that those large weather systems have become more prevalent, and with more wind Nameplate, then those falls are now commensurately larger.

        Tony.

Thanks very much for the data Anton – much appreciated. I was involved in a discussion recently where the other commentator claimed that gas backup could always be started from cold and be up and running in the time it took the wind to drop – he was claiming that the gas backup could be up in 20 minutes. I was claiming that to provide reliable backup, you would always have to have some gas running in the background. Also your point that as the amount of wind energy on the network increases, the network is subjected to more of these sudden changes – a very valid and significant point.
Looking at some of your info, it seems that in one case, 1000 MW of wind power was lost in one hour. Perhaps gas backups could be started and running to cope with that drop, but I wouldn’t like to bet on it.
The point of my discussion was that there are inadequate records being accumulated by govt authorities as to wind and solar behaviour, and they are making backup assumptions that may not be correct.

I’ve been watching this for an awful long time now, So I have a handle on what actually happens in the event of sudden power loss.

True, natural gas fired power does come on line, and as you rightly mention, within 20 minutes.

However, the very first port of call is Hydro, because when the call comes in, usually within 30 seconds of the major failure, they open the ‘gates’. water flows down the races, across those Francis Turbines and the generators sitting directly atop those turbines spin up immediately, delivering their absolute maximum power inside of five minute, sometimes within two minutes in fact.

I have now seen it and detailed it at my site so many times now.

First Port of call in Tumut Three Pumped Hydro, and the big Units at Murray in Victoria.

Then, via judicious usage of interconnectors, between all States, you can see what happens. It’s (EXACTLY) like an orchestra being conducted.

At the same time those Hydro Units come on line, the Natural gas (NG) fired Units fire up.

After 20 minutes or so, when this NG units are operational, they just wind back the Hydro Units.

In the olden days, (how I love saying that) they would go click, and those ‘rolling reserve’ coal fired Units would be delivering their ‘full whack’ power within minutes.

Then the CO2 scare caused them all to be closed down and blown up.

As 10cc said way back in 1975 ….. ‘Life Is A Minestrone!’.

I could actually go looking at my home site for those Posts I documented on large scale failures showing exactly these cases, but, hey, I don’t think anybody cares any more really.

Naah look, here’s one I did find. (you need to know just what to enter as the parameter for the search engine, and luckily I remembered Uranquinty)

This dates from July of 2018, but there’s plenty more. This is just one quickly located example. Just scroll down to the text ….. Comments for the day.

You can see it on the three graphs there.

            Tony.

Post Script – added as an edit, and thanks for that Joanne.

All of this, as I mentioned, is orchestrated so carefully, well, what that does is that NO ONE, quite literally ….. NO ONE realises it has even happened in the first place.

But the story is better illustrated on the fossil energy chart by all the vertical lines as coal/gas assets are switched in and out.

Mobile Data Reveals Someone Who Regularly Visited Thomas Crooks’ Home and Work Also Visited a Building in Washington DC located in Gallery Place. This is in the same vicinity of an @FBI office

“For the protection of whistleblowers and our investigation, we will not be sharing further information with the congressional task force due to the connective tissue between that entity and FBI, USSS, and other entities,” the Oversight Project said.

    Crooks did not act alone.

GOP Rep. Andy Biggs asked Cheatle if Crooks acted alone.

She refused to answer and referred his question to the FBI.

Seems like only four years ago, Harris was early round cannon fodder in the Democrats candidates race. Failing to demonstrate competence or to attract funding she withdrew with little support.

Biden selects her as a non threatening ticker of intersectional boxes, and she has since demonstrated no particular competence.

Now she is suddenly the best candidate?? Call me cynical, but I think not.

I’m noticing the media headlines lining up like Sun Tzu’s concubine commandos in support of Harris.
(Never mind the weirdness of the current VP being the incumbent because the current POUTUS can’t make it to Christmas.)

The Central Command control of the Democrats is stunning.
And the main force under their control is the media.
I don’t know how democracy survives these obviously corrupt, obscurely organized, laughably self labeled ‘Saviors of Our Democracy’.

Keerist, the head of US Secret Service just publicly testified under oath, that a flat roof building 130 yards away from Trump was “outside of USSS’s security perimeter”.

They’re not even hiding their intentions anymore.

A Boeing subsidiary Wisk wants to supply self-flying (no pilot) electric-powered flying taxis for the Brisbane Olympics.
    https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/aviation/a-partnership-between-boeing-subsidiary-wisk-and-skyports-promises-to-deliver-selfflying-taxis/news-story/8b35d5a7d91c2d220b2eb606da22b830. (Paywalled)
The electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVOTL) aircraft are supposed to be able to transport up to four people. The company claims that the aircraft will fly “later this year”. Together with Australian company Skyports, they also plan to build skyports atop buildings in time for the 2032 Olympics.

One of my questions, upon hearing about the uncanny coincidence that Jill Biden was hosting a small event not far from Trump’s rally, on the same day and at the very same time, was, “Just WHEN was Biden’s event planned?” If my theory is correct, that the Biden team/shadow government found out about the shooters plans and set about making it easy for him, I would expect that Jill Biden’s event was planned soon after they formulated their strategy and was to be their excuse for reducing Trump’s security.

Well, it turns out Jill Biden’s little meet and greet was announced on July 10th, just three days before Trump’s rally.

I’m done speculating now. As far as I’m concerned, it’s pretty damn clear Trump was set up.
