Severe internet censorship seems to be coming to Germany
https://dailysceptic.org/2024/10/10/state-funded-anti-hate-organisation-run-by-islamic-scholar-becomes-germanys-first-official-internet-censor/
The circumstances seem similar to the draconian Irish and Aussie bills that have been wending their way through the legislature
We are all nowhere near as free as we were even 10 years ago and judging by the polls young people do not have much time for democracy and very many of the gerneral public would like to be controlled more than they are and would welcome back covid like restrictions
140
The reason that the censorship bills appear to be similar to the Irish & Australian proposed legislation is because the actual “ blueprint “ for the legislation originates at from the exact same source, IE the UN / WEF. This is a world wide plan for worldwide censorship under World Government! I’m surprised more of the western developed electorates aren’t screaming NO about it.!
The western developed world appears to be criticising the UN & WEF less & less. Do you think that the WEF is interfering with freedom of the press??
Surely not! Surely most Western governments are not Leaning towards more Socialism.
Time for a revolution in the Western economically developed world. Trump will start that revolution & the UN / WEF know it! Now you know the reason to stop Trump, permanently!!

Surely Aussies voted overwhelmingly not to allow this sort of activity when you voted in a referendum a little while ago.
Since then there seems to be a constant stream of stories as to how the authorities seem to believe the referendum went their way

“Since then there seems to be a constant stream of stories as to how the authorities seem to believe the referendum went their way.”
No, they don’t think the referendum went their way. They know the Voice was rejected but, being a leftist government, they won’t allow mere citizens to tell them what to do.

Victorians voted not to have a Treaty, but the authorities decided to plow on regardless. Probably won’t become an election issue.

They’re moving to the legal approach now. You don’t have to ask the public for anything. The ultimate goal is “treaty” via the courts. All their major victories to date have been via courts barristers and QC.
As Paul Keating said of the referendum, ‘why are you doing this, there are much better options?’.

Over the week there has been a virtual avalanche of posts here that detail the inherent ugliness of the world.
On top of the middle east calamity and the decimation of Florida, posts have examined many aspects of the collapse of society.
UberWoke has infiltrated government, law and order, education, science and our expectations for the future.
But, there is good news. In many corners of society people are searching for ways of changing this disaster, and that’s especially true on this blog.
Live in hope and act for a de-woked future.

Sage advice KK. From the wonders of aurora australis faintly dancing overhead last night, to waking with the sun this morning as a squadron of dolphins cruised just offshore in search of their breakfast takeaways, as I brewed a fresh pot of coffee, mmm…
My mistake, however, was turning on Rabid Red RadioNZ only to hear the morbid, depressing, deluded monotone of West Oz’s so-called National Living Treasure author, Tim Winton, expound his dark thoughts and nightmarish scenarios of a world on fire because you know what. I couldn’t find the OFF button quick enough.
Right, where was I, oh yes: sea, coffee, sunshine…

Blind Freddy on Green Hydrogen
By Geoff Derrick
Everyone knows “Blind Freddy”. He’s the man who sees problematic issues with extreme clarity, who identifies projects based on humbug, who calls out scams and wrong-doings, who is our quiet protector on many controversial social and business issues, and who keeps many of our radical politicians, businessmen and policy makers in check.
It is Blind Freddy who could see that “Green Hydrogen” was set to fail (“Writing on wall for green hydrogen”, Weekend Australian, 5-6 Oct), simply because making green hydrogen by passing an electric current through water is extremely expensive and energy consuming. It is Blind Freddy who sees that this process uses more energy than hydrogen can produce, and that it costs more to make this green hydrogen than its world sale price.
Operating at a loss may well be standard socialist philosophy, but it is not the way capitalism works.
And it is Blind Freddy who can see that renewables will never replace fossil fuels because they cannot do the job of powering a nation 24/7.
https://saltbushclub.com/2024/10/07/blind-freddy-on-green-hydrogen/
250
And everyone knows Slick Willy. He’s the person promoting the climate/green energy scam.
100
Slick Willy is no more: she’s now known as Slimy Willamina and is twice as corrupt.
/silly
120
That looks like a good use for solar and wind turbine power.
80
Then there is the losses when converting hydrogen back into electricity.
Theoretical 60% by 60% is 36%.
And there is the losses during storage.
In ‘practice’ using exaggerated wind power you are going to be lucky to get 14% back on your money (some of the time).
70
Only if the electrolysing cells cost nothing and require no land.
There is proof of concept that electrolyses can be responsive to changing power levels without harming the electrolyses but the electrolyser costs are significant. It is not viable to build an electrolyser that only produces for 3 hours out of every 24 on average.

Readers might remember that devastating car park fire at Luton airport last year which destroyed 1300 vehicles
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13949627/Range-Rover-sparked-devastating-Luton-Airport-multi-storey-fire-destroyed-vehicles.html
Seems the cause was a diesel Range Rover
121
And it only took them a year to figure that out… Really?
Can we imagine they’ve known this for a year and kept it secret?
240
Bedfordshire fire and rescue service are a perfectly respectable service. There must have been at least a dozen organisations that would have been involved in this from the local council, Luton airport, the makers of the car park, the car owners and insurance companies and sundry other bodies.
It was unprecedented so I think it very likely to have taken a year to sort out all the strands.so they haven’t known it for a year but only very recently. Range rovers have been somewhat notorious for their fuel, electrical and other problems.
I think we are into conspiracy theories if we still believe it to be an EV that caused the problem. There is no evidence for that
52
Unless you believe your lying eyes!
The photos of the burning car are evidence where as the statement by the Bedfordshire fire department (of itself) is not.
It was extensively discussed at the time. A diesel fire from a ruptured fuel line should spread all over the floor. The fire was very intense and confirmed to the underneath of the car. That seems to be the spot where the Lithium batteries are located in an EV Rangerover.
100
The report is a year old.
The fire dept said from the beginning the the car which started the inferno was a diesel car,
The problem that I still don’t believe them.
And they blanked out the car number plate for some reason.
130
The incident was a year ago. The report has just been issued. A year for a complex event like this is to be expected.
Blanking out the car number plate on what might be a criminal event is entirely normal.
The organisations involved are perfectly respectable. Have you any evidence that makes you believe it was an EV?
Range rovers are somewhat notorious for their fuel and electrical problems. One of the reasons that insurance is so high on them
52
This is reportedly the video of the car that started the fire, on fire.
https://youtu.be/ccF4xOk5ruY?si=XXaOGPurLgawN8EV
Apparently CCTV footage of the car entering the car park shows smoke coming from the car. The owner of the car then calls the fire brigade a few mins later.
So it seems quite straight forward that the car was a range rover and the car was identified by the owner as the cause
The odd bit is the fire fighters arrived soon after and there were apparently 4 other cars on fire by then. Why weren’t they able to stop it spreading if it was a typical fire?
And why has it taken so long to officially identify the source of the fire as an ICE car if the owner was witness to the cause?
Yes, there was an initial report of it being a range rover. But why so long to confirm?
My questions are:
Does this model car come as electric or hybrid? If not, then definitely ICE car.
If so, does the fire in the video appear to be in the part of the car that would relate to the battery?
If so, why wouldn’t the owner have said the car was definitely an EV or hybrid?
90
I linked the PDF below … they go into considerable detail about the early spread of the fire. It took 10 minutes for the fire dept to show up after the driver of the Range Rover called them … during that time the wind blew through and fanned the flames. Supposedly sprinklers had not been installed but in theory, if they were there, it would have made a difference.
The report says only a few sentences about the ignition. They show a photo of pale grey smoke coming out from the front/left corner of the vehicle, looking like it was coming out under the bonnet. Clearly something was already going wrong before the Range Rover arrived at the car park.
I searched that make and model and found a few things … the 3L version is a V6 and comes either turbocharged or supercharged depending on which model you buy. In addition, the vehicle has two batteries … one for the “main” function (i.e. starting the engine) and an auxiliary battery to power all the accessories that keep going when you are parked. This way, the car will still start even when the auxiliary battery is flat.
More interesting is that some of those Range Rovers were shipping a large capacitor instead of the auxiliary battery. This saves weight and I guess they were charged and discharged so many times that the capacitor seems like it would be better able to handle the job.
Anyhow, a faulty capacitor can generate a lot of heat in a short time … would be consistent with the “electrical fault” described in the report.
Note that this is merely a reference to the investigation of the Group Commander which must have been done earlier and does not appear to be published … maybe there more explanation in there?!?
90
OK … searching on the Range Rover auxiliary battery … seems it is located at the rear of the vehicle and therefore unlikely to be relevant in this case. The photos clearly show the early smoke at the front instead.
80
I don’t believe them either, that wasn’t a diesel fire.
70
The journalist is simply a poor quality writer. The report came out October 2024 but the incident happened a year ago.
I noticed that in the report itself there’s no official release date nor a version number … it doesn’t even have an author as far as I can find, nor a list of people who checked it and signed off … you might find metadata in the PDF

Another case of “ pull the other one, it plays Jingle Bells “
It would appear the Chinese have had so many “ Lutons “ that they’ve banned EVs from underground & other car parks!!😂😂😂
171
Looks like another yarn from “ THEY “. Who are “ THEY “ & bet the story was conveyed thru the media who are in fact a fully paid up member of the “ THEY “ club.
Can’t have EVs self combusting you know.
In addition having another yarn about the building owners staging a fire to burn it down for insurance instead of having to pay to demolish is a conspiracy tooooo far!
10
To be fair they did say it was a diesel at the time and repeatedly. The registration number is widely circulated on the internet and fits, although as it is a ‘private registration’ it has since been transferred to a similar but different coloured car. There is a recall history for fires in the diesel version.
10
I appreciate that some people want it to be an EV but there is no evidence that it was. A dozen organisations would have had to cover it up if it were an EV rather than a diesel
The Range Rovers have a history for doing this. If as likely the owner pushed the car in trying to make it to a flight then it becomes even more likely that it would burst into flames.
As you say the number pate is available on line and relates to a diesel vehicle. In official photos the number plate would be blacked out as we see every day of the week on tv news stories.
40
Tonyb,
“IT” is complicated. If the Range Rover had been there burning by itself, the place would not have collapsed, would it? How much did EVs contribute to sustaining the blaze?
Think about the real disaster at Grenfell Tower. Reports are that the fire started with a freezer. There hasn’t been much fuss about freezers though, because the freezer only caused the fire, the cladding caused the disaster.
I’m not blaming the Luton collapse on EVs either; just saying that it can’t all be blamed on one thing.
130
My recollection is that the initial start up story was changed many times in the early hours.
My point at the time, still remains. Even if this was started by a diesel/petrol car, the problem is that there are enough EV’s in the carpark to make it into something horrible and dangerous.
What do we do about that? Fire extinguishers and sprinklers won’t stop that spread (even though the news stories are claiming sprinklers would have stopped the spread). Drop down fire blankets won’t do it. Do we need to ask EV drivers to park “somewhere else”? Do we need concrete barriers between every car? Or some kind of immobilizing jet spray foam-concrete to contain it, or piped liquid nitrogen, or a fire-proof robot truck that can tow the burning machine to a permanent bath and drop it in (surely could only work if discovered at the early smoking stage)? Thinking out loud here… Unleash your brain. We need some system that rapidly takes the energy away.
Or maybe, more realistically, we should ban EV’s from carparks until we understand battery problems better and have early radio broadcasting detectors built into cars so we can remove them when the thermal runaway has barely begun.
“The BFRS report stressed: ‘There is no evidence to demonstrate that the presence of electric vehicles parked in the car park had a detrimental impact on the outcome of the fire’”
Was there ever a car park that burnt like before? I’m genuniely curious… when all cars were diesel/petrol were there unstoppable multistory carpark fires? Maybe there were…
30
This is a link to the actual report:
https://www.bedsfire.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2024-10/Significant%20Incident%20Report%20LLA%20Car%20Park%202%20fire.pdf
With regard the spread of the fire, it was concluded that BEVs did not contribute. The main cause of spread was burning liquid fuel.
The report discusses other carpark fires. It is broadly concluded that open sided carparks are higher risk because wind becomes a significant factor in the spread of the fire.
There was not enough research done on the burnt out BEVs to assess if their batteries contributed. The run-off did not exhibit high level of battery derived contaminants.
00
An interesting feature of the Luton Report is a list of recent fires in carparks.
I had not previously;y seen anything on the recent fire at Lisbon airport that destroyed 200 vehicles:
https://www.portugalresident.com/pj-police-investigate-massive-blaze-initially-attributed-to-electric-car/
As far as I can determine, there is no reporting of this blaze from government funded news agencies outside Portugal. Maybe more in Portuguese/Spanish press.

Hang on a minute people while the other elephant in the room moves into a better position TO BE SEEN.
Quite apart from the electric, no diesel, no don’t believe you argument/conspiracy theory (they knew as soon as the driver rang 999 at 20:47 and said his diesel range rover was on fire) the next relevant question (elephant) is what date had the council/airport corporation/parking building owners agreed to for the demolition of the carpark BEFORE the fire did the job for them?
I initially went down the rabbit hole of how could one diesel vehicle that started earnestly burning on level 3 around 20:44 and was solo burning at 20:51 (999 call by another member of public) before getting support from 2 other cars at 20:52 (another 999 call advice that 3 cars now burning) all the while spilling diesel liquid for the wind to blow around so that soon after the fire crews arrived (20:57 in attendance):
“…clear signs of imminent structural collapse were observed in the protected staircases. This led the incident commander to order a tactical withdrawal of firefighters in the building, which was achieved by 21:26, and only external firefighting operations took place for the remainder of the incident.” Page 3. Also see photos of (pre-existing? and perhaps ongoing?) structural damage on Page 15. It takes the smoke from a fire to see “imminent structural collapse”?
Surely a burning river of diesel making its own waterfall into a protected staircase could not have created or significantly contributed to this “imminent structural collapse” within 42 minutes, could it? If that is the case, then forget about hijacking planes just park your diesel in your target building basement carpark. Less frequent flyer points but more chance of not being caught.
Maybe more than just EV RRRR’s being covered.

I was just contemplating how embarrassing it will be for US Democrats if they lose the the POTUS election.*
The MSM, Hollywood, the intelligence apparatus, the courts, the Googly global corporatists, all spending billions in in-kind illegal campaign contributions, including violations of the Hatch Act, and overtly lying … mail-in customized voting … and then still fail?
*(Unfortunately my own opinion is that this will not happen. All the the above make the ‘election’ a fixed charade.)
But, it will be just as embarrassing, producing limited comfort, watching them celebrate their laughable fake and corrupt victory.
Of course, it will be less funny as food becomes unaffordable. As it very nearly already is is my Democrat controlled city.
150
My biggest fear that in the event of an honest election or Trump’s votes exceed the Margin of Fraud, the Left are going to become extremely violent on a mass scale.
90
The threat isn’t ‘just’ violence but massive resistance by the public service, resulting in Trump failing to implement his policies. This happened during his first time but, in the unlikely event that he is returned to the White House, it will be a hundred times worse this time around.
90
But David we all know that the extreme violence will be mostly peaceful.
At the moment the polls are beyond the margin of fraud. My guess is that the frauds will not stop the counting simultaneously and then inject just the right number of fake ballots like they did last time.
My guess is that the fake ballots will be injected much earlier in the process this time. The challenge for the frauds is to make it vaguely plausible. The traditional method is the October surprise followed by an unexpected swing in the polls.

In the understandable concerns about Milton, I was struck by the passing of the storm at maximum strength near the Yucatan peninsula and then the West coast of Cuba. And not the slightest concern for the people in these areas. Say Cancun.
All the US television, drama, preparation, concern was the area around Tampa, the people, houses, yachts, cars, potential for disaster in these very densely populated holiday and retirement areas. And it highlighted the fact that Hurricanes are irrelevant to the decision to live in danger, a simple fact of luck and life in the tropics. What matters is only who and what they hit and when. Sudden Climate Change is a matter of 20km, not carbon dioxide.

The great loss of a great man. But I have a fun Courtney story. Back when the IPCC Third Assessment Report came out I wrote a piece about it titled “The IPCC’s Artful Bias.” It is still laying about here:

So Richard made a bunch of copies and took them to an IPCC meeting. When everyone was out he put a copy at every person’s place. He waited until they returned and the consternation built but left before being thrown out or worse.
His boldness still makes me laugh.

Have you noticed how the only actions proposed by Uniparty politicians all involve more restrictions of freedoms, more taxes, more regulations etc..
None of them call for more freedom, less tax or fewer regulations.
Even the Liberal faction of the Uniparty once believed in fewer regulations or taxes although they never called for more freedoms.
Apparently younger people don’t even care and many want to be told what to do and think. That’s the result of decades of Marxist education. (And see tonyb’s #1 comment.)
90
Indeed, yes.
Through the UK’s 2024 Election Campaign, no major party mentioned increased efficiency of Government, so taxes need not rise – and could, perhaps, be slightly cut.
Certainly Labour promised [a political promise …] not to increase Income tax or VAT.
Obviously other taxes were fair game – we will see when Ms Reeves announces where increases will come, om 30th October 2024.
And, yes, more regulations [30 bills in the King’s Speech; ‘My Government will …’ – or was it 40. I forget. No – I don’t care!].
And a crack down on smoking outdoors, amongst other restrictions …
DM – spot on for the UK at least.

As he was a staunch Liberal voter for ever, but switched (along with many others) to turn the then safe Liberal seat into a loss I think you will understand that there are many more with a “mild dislike” of politicians.
00
Socialist Morning Herald detailed the usual corruption of politicians, but in reading it you would think ONLY the Liberals have ever done it!
“Leaked documents reveal that (Former Coalition Minister Stuart..)Robert has spruiked his stewardship of Australia’s data onshoring policy to help him negotiate a private business proposal for a data centre on private land owned by an ex-Defence official next door to the HMAS Harman military base in Canberra. The deal, if realised, could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars and deliver a windfall to Robert and his backers…Robert’s new business venture is a case study of what integrity advocates describe as the “revolving door” phenomenon involving former politicians joining the corporate sector in areas over which they previously wielded significant policy and political influence.

Once politicians leave office they should be permanently banned from any employment related to their role in government and banned from any business venture whatsoever for ten years.
90
And what’s going to power this data centre?
It certainly won’t be wind, coal or unicorn flatulence.
It will need a dedicated coal, gas, or gasp! nuclear power plant to run it, or a guaranteed proportion of the plant’s output.
They’ll probably have some fake virtue signaling arrangement like Canberra has whereby they pretend to run on 100% “green” energy due to a devious accounting trick.

CORRECTION.

An amusing one from that rag, a couple of disasters in vaccine storage have left children ‘unprotected’.. They found a few typical Wokies to interview and have a big cry about it, but no child that suffered whooping cough or measles or whatever because of it!
“A vaccine storage error at a general practice in Sydney’s inner west may have left more than 1000 patients, including infants and children, without protection against serious diseases over the past five years…..In 2019, two Sydney GPs were found to have administered expired or poorly stored vaccines to as many as 3000 patients – including infants and young children – over almost nine years.”
The statistics on how many of the affected patients do and don’t go back for a second dose should be interesting!
..and an unrelated article shows the West are firmly in the “We lost, its time for peace talks” propaganda mode-
“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has presented his proposed “victory plan” to the leaders of Britain, France and Italy, and the incoming head of NATO as he seeks to garner military support to put himself in a position for eventual peace talks with Russia.”
bring on the next patsy!

It’s amazing how many people who pretend to be intellectuals accuse Donald Trump of being racist, misogynistic, fascist, a warmonger, etc. but when asked for any specific examples they are unable to name any.
TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is a terrible and incurable condition.
120
My experience has been they name specific examples which turn out to be the same old debunked recycled
misinformation and disinformationlies, invented by the DNC CNN FBI ETC plexus, and promulgated for Australians on the ABC, Age, etc, mass media.10
I just heard the ABC presenter state that ‘mis/disinformation and racism was present in the Voice referendum’,
also have you noticed the AEC ads on TV making a fuss about mis/disinformation about things heard or said online.
They are tilling the ground, getting ready.
90
Yes, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) even has a “disinformation register”.

And this.

Their job is to administer elections honestly and they should not be involved in any way whatsoever as to what they think is dis- or mis- information.
We have elections to decide what we think the truth is.

NEVER BRING A TOWEL TO A KNIFE FIGHT
60
1. You never have a towel when you need one.
2. The knife guy is an obvious amateur, holding the knife out at arms length as there is no thrust available.
3. The towel technique is just ludicrous and wrong – should have gone for the knife arm not the head.

Better still, watch a few videos from Russian ex special ops Vladimir Vasiliev to see the right ways to deal with a knife attack.

Money transfer app hit by major hack that exposed customer social security numbers and bank accounts
Money transfer service MoneyGram suffered a major hack that exposed its customers’ personal and financial information to cybercriminals.
While the three-day-long breach began on September 20, 2024, the firm has not provided an estimate for the number of victims impacted, nearly three weeks later.
MoneyGram does boast of having more than 150 million customers, however, via its over 430,000 locations which span 200 countries and territories.
The hack exposed basic information like customer names, their dates of birth and contact information, including phone numbers, emails and postal addresses.
But the cyberattack also gave the unknown hacker, or hackers, access to much more sensitive, government-issued identification documents: scanned driver’s licenses, national identification numbers and US Social Security numbers.

Saturday storytime
The donkey told the tiger, “The grass is blue.”
The tiger replied, “No, the grass is green .”
The discussion became heated, and the two decided to submit the issue to arbitration, so they approached the lion.
As they approached the lion on his throne, the donkey started screaming: ′′Your Highness, isn’t it true that the grass is blue?”
The lion replied: “If you believe it is true, the grass is blue.”
The donkey rushed forward and continued: ′′The tiger disagrees with me, contradicts me and annoys me. Please punish him.”
The king then declared: ′′The tiger will be punished with 3 days of silence.”
The donkey jumped with joy and went on his way, content and repeating ′′The grass is blue, the grass is blue…”
The tiger asked the lion, “Your Majesty, why have you punished me, after all, the grass is green?”
The lion replied, ′′You’ve known and seen the grass is green.”
The tiger asked, ′′So why do you punish me?”
The lion replied, “That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is degrading for a brave, intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with an ass, and on top of that, you came and bothered me with that question just to validate something you already knew was true!”
The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn’t care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions.
Never waste time on discussions that make no sense. There are people who, for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand. Others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and the only thing that they want is to be right even if they aren’t.
When IGNORANCE SCREAMS, intelligence moves on.

The lyin’ lion lied.
That wasn’t silence, that was good advice.

Speaking of misinformation…
Have a look at the submissions page for the Misinformation and Disinformation Bill Committee.
https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Senate/Environment_and_Communications/MisandDisinfobill/Submissions
Click 2nd option to sort by Organisation/Individual.
What do you notice?
Yes there are apparently only 4 individuals who made a submission to the committee!
Where did all of our submissions disappear to?
Very suspicious.
100
The didn’t publish 100s of submissions to both the COVID Royal Commission TOR committee and the Excess Deaths Committee. Oversight is broken in Australia. Parliament Services are part of the stitch up. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-05-28/department-of-parliamentary-services-senate-estimates/103900616 They don’t have to answer your questions either – they are outside FOI.

Any electronics wizards here?
I need replacement amplifier output transistors for 2SC793 and 2SA663 for a Sansui 7 stereo receiver.
Seems that 2N3055 and MJ2955 might work.
Suggestions welcome

A bit more digging finds: Per AudioKarma:
https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/transistor-substitutions.688515/
2SC793 crosses to MJ21194G (USD 7.85). It is the NPN half of the Darlington pair.
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/onsemi/MJ21194G/919459
The 2SA663 Is the PNP half of the Darlington pair in the amplifier, so the MJ21193G should complement the MJ21194G
https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/onsemi/MJ21193G/919458 (USD 7.85)
Your suggestion of MJ2955 is less $, USD 5.37 . PNP.

The 2N3055 (obsolete) is replaced by 2N3055G, NPN, USD 4.70.
