This blogger needs your help

UPDATE: This post will remain a sticky post for a few days. New posts will appear below.

We’re in an information war against the financial monsters of the world. They’re swimming in an ocean of money. But thanks to all the independent spirits who have kept me going for years without a regular income, we fight on. Together we can expose the grifters, the sad culti, and mock their holy idols. It’s a dangerous moment in history, but as those in the gulags would have surely said, we have so many tools, and it’s a time where their sacred cows are coming undone. The pagan witchdoctors have overplayed their hand, they are vulnerable.Roman Colliseum

It is not just about the dollars, it’s an honor, and incredibly motivating to get help, big or small, from like minded souls all corners of the globe. It’s been an absolute delight to connect with so many good people who think for themselves, who will not submit, and who recognize the threat from the parasites in the system.

    Ok will do.

    This will be our agreement.

“Jo understands that I am not paying cash for comment.

and I understand that I will be rightly modded if my comments are off topic, offensive to another blogger or not relevant to this site.”

I think both parties will agree.

That done, Thankyou Jo and team/contributers for providing a scientific blog that allows voices to be heard and for others like me to discuss, think and learn.

I have truly enjoyed JoNova 2022..

I Look forward to JoNova in 2023!

Incidentally, I once looked into the issue of whether malicious parties can do anything bad if they know your bank account number and BSB, which you obviously have to give out if you want someone to transfer money to you, and the answer is NO. It is perfect safe to have this information “in the open”. At least, that’s what the bank told me.

They can’t withdraw, but they could deposit, say, $1,000,000 into your account, in small amounts over time.

        That would be devastating. 😉

Just be very careful using the bank on your phone – I got caught once, it was the usual phone number my bank used and came up on my phone as the bank name!
I had to scrub my phone, lost half my contacts and a hell load of photos – the bank could not explain how they had or could come up as the bank number??

Happy to help Jo. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. Thank you for all your hard work.

let’s hope the lights stay on.

Actually, it would be better if they didn’t.

It might be an effective wake up call.

But they probably will stay on as a lot of power has been liberated due to Australia’s shut down of industry plus the fact that domestic consumers are using a lot less due to the high cost of unreliables and the massive cross-subsidisation required to support them and their subsidy-harvester owners.

And much of the content here simply can’t be discussed on legacy social(ist) media platforms because to do so will have one censored or banned. The one exception recently is on Musk’s Twitter since he has implemented a free speech policy. But that isn’t a technical or scientific blog like this.

The very process of science has been corrupted. You allow the free expression and discussion of science as it is meant to be, without the fraudulent imposition of false claims about science including:

    1) Scientific fact is decided by “consensus”. FALSE

    2) There is such a thing as “settled science”. FALSE

    3) Dissenting opinions must be repressed. FALSE

    Quoted from elsewhere:

“Trust the science” is one of the most unscientific statements one can make.

Questioning science is how you do science.

Well done! Another year on the twin fronts of carbon madness and man made viruses always involving big government and big business.

Real science truth will always be on this blog. Thank you again.

And a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in 2023 to all.

And do not forget today to celebrate our summer solstice and the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. It used to be a day of celebration long before there was a Christmas. Mid summer and Mid winter.

It would be nice for the hatred of the element carbon to stop next year. And the civil war in Ukraine.

As a former user of chlorinated hydrocarbons I say that they were not well managed. Initially they were marvellous, but over time the insects developed resistance and they didn’t work so well.

There were different formulations with different trade names. Mum used to dust the tomatoes with DDT. It was Dieldrin for the sheep blowfly, Aldrin for the plague locusts, Gammahex for the fleas on the dogs, and Chlordane for termites. And there is your connection.

In much of Australia termites are a big problem. Chlordane worked very well for treating and preventing termite damage. So much so that in some areas at least it was a requirement that new house sites should be treated with chlordane to give very long term protection against termites.

DDT was the most used CHC around the world, used for spraying mosquitoes, and it got the most publicity. From memory it was in the 1970s that the CHCs were banned because they were fat soluble and not water soluble, as a result of which chronic exposure could accumulate the chemical in fat tissue. But when the ban went on, they made an exception for Chlordane for termites, because Australia had the particular need and it was so effective.

Then in the 1990s they banned Chlordane too, at the insistence of the United Nations.

That was then. Now we have the internet with all the pros and cons of Wikipedia. We have cockroaches in our kitchen, and the pest people have failed to eradicate them. I looked up their chemical on the internet. It looked on Wiki like a very close cousin of Chlordane. Which reminded me that when they banned CFC refrigerants thirty plus years ago they told us that the replacement chemical was still a CFC, but it was a less bad CFC. Incidentally they now tell us that it too, must be banned.
All of which raises the questions, 1. Is the defining feature of a chemical the availability of regulations which enable the supplier to control the market? and 2. Is the United Nations being used by big corporations to corrupt the market?

      Okay then ….. Summer/Winter Solstice.

The Solstice day is the official start to the Winter in the U.S. unlike here in Oz where it’s the first day of the (Seasonal) Month.

My blog site is located in Harrisburg in Pennsylvania, and I’m in regular daily contact with Ed who owns the site. I’m just the lowly old Editor/Contributor. Just an hour ago, he tells me it snowed all day with a high of 32F, (Zero C) (22nd December, 15 hours behind us) and for the next two days the highs are expected to be 12F and 15F, so, that’s Minus 11C, and Minus 9C.

As an exercise, I did the comparison for Solstice days.

Where I live in Beenleigh Queensland Australia (Summer Solstice) – Sunrise – 4.48AM. Sunset – 6.42PM Hours of daylight – 13 hours 54 Mins.

Where he lives in Harrisburg Pennsylvania (Winter Solstice) – Sunrise – 7.27AM. Sunset – 4.45PM. Hours of daylight – 9 hours 18 Mins.

So, I’m effectively getting an extra (almost) five hours of daylight when compared to him.

I also noticed that it starts to get light on the Eastern Horizon about 4.15AM, and last light is around 7.15PM.

To highlight the Latitude thing, I also did the exercise for the Winter Solstice here (22nd June)

      Sunrise – 6.37AM. Sunset – 5.00PM. Hours of daylight – 10 hours 23 Minutes

So, on our Winter Solstice here, I get an hour extra daylight here than he does there for his Winter Solstice.

An equivalent Northern latitude in the U.S. for Beenleigh is a little South of Tampa in Florida.

(Geography, almost as incomprehensible as Maths, but both of them just so much fun, eh!)

      Tony.

Way back in July 2015 my wife and I were fortunate enough to be on a Rotary exchange with a Rotary district in Southern Alberta. Our first week or so we spent in Victoria BC. We could not get over the fact that at 2200 people were still out walking their dogs with the snowy mountains of Washington in the background. We also stayed in Lethbridge AB which is as far North of the equator as a spot 400 kilometers South of the Southern tip of New Zealand. It gets to 40 C in the summer. I guess that big Southern Ocean is a great refrigerator.

BTW Jo without your blog I would be less informed but much calmer. Every time you release another expose of scientific absurdity I want to scream but I am pleased to add that in reading what might be called the alternate media, Gateway Pundit and War Room among others I see a glimmer of hope for the sane as well as much fear from the elites as they are being exposed. The Gateway Pundit gets as many views these days as does CNN and that is a real concern for those who want to control our lives. I have given up on our Australian news services although Sky after dark does have some solid discussions and allows the “silenced ones” a voice; Jacinta Price, Matt Canavan and Senator Antic come to mind.

        Harrisburg, PA 40°N
        Me in Washington State, 47°N

That’s almost 500 miles. I’m north of the big cities of Eastern Canada, or what was Upper Canada — the area up-river (The St. Lawrence). Draw a line from London UK to Toronto CA to get the Brit’s view.

“The NSW government will turbocharge the state’s transition to net zero by embracing a major new goal of slashing pollution by 70 per cent in just over a decade.”
It’s over, waste of time and money trying to change the climate alarmists minds, Australia is going to become extremely expensive to live in ,in the next couple of years. embracing a major new goal of slashing pollution by 70 per cent

I wish politicians and the Sheeple would understand that carbon dioxide, or what they call “carbon” (sic) is not pollution. It’s just an important life-giving trace gas, of predominantly natural origin and the more we have the better.

It was the anti-scientist Obama who declared CO2 a pollutant and “public danger” which enabled the US EPA to reclassify carbon dioxide as a pollutant and other nations followed.

      https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2009/dec/07/us-climate-carbon-emissions-danger

The Obama administration adopted its climate change plan B today, formally declaring carbon dioxide a public danger so that it can cut greenhouse gas emissions even without the agreement of a reluctant Senate.

      [..]

The announcement gives the EPA a legal basis for capping emissions from major sources such as coal power plants, as well as cars. Jackson said she hoped it would help to spur a deal in Copenhagen.

Depends on your philosophy – some would contend that humans are part of nature. Hence, what TdeF states is true. But the usual figure for humans emissions in the Carbon cycle is no more than 3%. (sweet FA)

Funny climate activists don’t mention they, as well as every other air breathing living organism expire CO2. They don’t worry about their own bit of inflammable methane either, but the world population has gone from around 4Billion to 8billion units in about 50years. Then there’s all those other life forms ‘saved’ eg check ‘roo, camel and cattle numbers.

While I package chocolates and ruminate further, I wonder whether the passage of euthanasia these days, along with knocking off our means of heating and cooling arent’ simply backdoor methods to solve these apparent weaknesses in the AGW theory. Haven’t heard comment from them either on the release of energy in the Ukraine war, but I put that down to Russia being officially beyond their radar.

On that note, a happy Christmas to Jo and everyone. Thanks for making this blog such a rich source of education for those of us that are learners rather than teachers.

I’m not suggesting you do it Jo, but several other blogs and ‘news’ sites I frequent use a subscription model. In one case, readers are able to see posts and stories but only subscribers are allowed to comment. There are many ways to operate a subscription model. Jo – thanks for continuing to provide excellent data related to covid, climate change and other related subjects. Contrary to reneweconomy and other warmist sites you actually provide data rather than politics and ideology, and fraud. Have kicked into the tip jar…

The coming year is going to be an enormous challenge and hopefully the appalling energy price rises, and closures of many businesses and loss of livelihoods (whilst temperatures remain within the range seen for the last 1000 years) may wake up many who are asleep.

I personally have severe issues with the politicising of medicine and the covid disaster shows what happens when people outsource their thinking to incompetent and politically aligned bureaucrats. I would like to hope that the vaxxes are banned in the new year and we start to allow those injured and the families of those killed by the poison shots to be heard and measures taken to ensure this calamity does not to happen ever again.

Keep up the good work guys, I sense that the tide is turning against the climate zealots as more and more is revealed about the deadly cobalt mines and the mining of other rare earths essential for the impossible and utterly impractical ‘green’ dream of zero emissions.

More and more people are becoming aware that CO2 is not a pollutant and the utter hypocrisy of most climate activists. At least Greta sailed once!

Hey Jo, A little something via paypal. Sorry it’s not more but on a pension and not much spare. Love your work. Keep it up and enjoy the ‘chocolates’.
    Regards, Stuart.

A little something has been sent . I feel quite groggy and confused the last few days as I’ve had a bad cold. I was correct in making out the funding to Michael Mann wasn’t I?

Thanks for your tireless work on Covid science Jo (as opposed to “The Science”).
Would that more than a small handful of my medical colleagues show just a little of your curiosity and acumen.
    Enjoy the chocolates!

I have now sent you some money for beers or a steak. You should get the money tomorrow.
